A growing epidemic of sports injuries, mostly curable, is dismantling the dreams and future prospects of athletes at an early age. Despite several multi-million dollar payouts and the spate of suicides from retired and active players, the NFL has made little to no effort to increase players’ safety on the field. Here we take a look at how dangerous it is to be a professional football player and at some effective treatment options for common field injuries.
