Case Study Of MC Bauchemie
10. Conclusions and Recommendations
10.1 Conclusions
Despite MC Bauchemie being a large respected brand in Europe, Asia and Sourth America however
the brand is not fully recognized in the Middle East as wide is it is in other countries, this will make
the entry to new markets not easy in the region, MC Bauchemie must fight to gain market share and
maintain it later on. MC Injekt is a star product within MC Bauchemie range of products and it
provide its success as an entry range in many countries across the globe and The UAE; for that
copying what toke place in UAE to Saudi is highly likely be successful taking into consideration the
similarities between the two countries in terms of construction methods, number of Saudi companies

Based on the assessment, future steps can be planned such as closing the branch or launching a
fighting brand.
The research resulted in that the new country that MC Bauchemie is targeting is Saudi Arabia, using
the MC Injekt product range, starting with the applicators (special contractors) as the major customer
base. The availability of competition in the market with a long track record will have a negatively
effect on the launch of MC Bauchemie product. For that MC Bauchemie must make sure that the sales
and marketing team gets all the support required to increase products knowledge and technology to the
targeted parties.
There were some difficulties that were faced during project duration such as time constraints
especially when market research is involved. With additional time, more customer would have

Adapted Crisis Response Plan For Hilo Intermediate School
Adapted Crisis Response Plan Based on the presented information, the following adapted crisis
intervention protocols and plan are suggested for Hilo Intermediate School, and could also be
implemented in other schools within the district with adaptation as needed for each individual school s
unique needs. Additionally, it should be noted that while these steps are presented in a step format,
steps can be skipped or repeated as needed to assist in responding to varying crises, emergencies, and
disasters. First, a comprehensive school counseling program would be implemented that provided
preventative as well as intervention strategies that could help to prevent a crisis or intervene before a
crisis occurred (ASCA, 2012). The school counselor would provide classroom guidance lessons to
reach all students that would promote areas such as self esteem, and coping strategies. Further, the
counselor would provide professional development for teachers to look for warning signs such as
aggressive behavior and withdrawal, and refer them for individual or group counseling. During a
crisis, the first school personnel on the scene or with the person in crisis would assess and take control
of the situation until an administrator or other designee arrived. This would help with providing
students and others with clear directions and next step to take, thus alleviating anxiety. Next, the
person would address life safety, and call 911 or designate someone to call 911 (SHDOE, 2009). This

Efficient Society or Vacant Humanity
Extended Definition
Preventing the wasteful use of a particular resource is one of the definitions of the word efficient. The
most common thought when people hear the word efficient is that when something is efficient it is
better than something that by comparison is not as efficient. Now we have gas efficient cars, energy
efficient appliances and as many highly efficiently people would say we are working to have a more
efficient society. What is the cost of more efficiency, in many things of course the more efficient the
better, with more energy efficient cars and appliances we are saving our planet reducing car emissions
make for cleaner air that we all breathe and will make us less reliant on fuel and other natural
resources. Can a real value or cost be put on the human mind and spirit, what happens to people when
they are set aside or determined to be of little or no use, what happens when people begin to question
their own worth in the world.
In Jeremy Rifkin s book Time Wars includes the reading selection The Efficient Society he is
analytical in his explanation of what is being considered to be an efficient society. In the critical
analysis he details the time management scenarios that are addressed to make more efficient workers.
Corporations need to produce more work from each of its workers and the way that the companies
take the time to measure

Jackie Robinson Influence
One of baseball s greatest, Jackie Robinson, once said, A life is not important except in the impact it
has on other lives. Jackie Robinson was the first African American man to play in the Major League
Baseball. Jackie Robinson played for the Brooklyn Dodgers throughout his baseball career as number
42. The great baseball player was faced with many acts of racism, but through it all he continued to
play the game he loved. This is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American man to play in
the MLB.
Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia. He was the youngest out of five
siblings, Mack Robinson, Willa Mae Robinson, Edgar Robinson, and Frank Robinson. Jackie
Robinson attended John Muir High School, Pasadena Junior College, and UCLA. At UCLA, Jackie
Robinson won varsity letters in four different sports baseball, football, track and field, and basketball.
One major influence that Jackie Robinson had in his life was Branch Rickey, the former president of
the Dodgers. Branch Rickey was a big influence because he is the one that brought Jackie into the
MLB, and he was there for Jackie when he faced racism. Throughout his life, Jackie Robinson s main
hardship was racism. During his time period, segregation was something that burdened every African
American. Even once he was in the MLB he would receive racism from even his own teammates. He
even received things like death threats. Jackie Robinson is respected because throughout all this he

The Castle Film Analysis
The Australian cinema in the 1960 s failed to communicate with the audience due to their lack of
promotional messages that weren t disseminated. Media is formed by cultural, political, economic and
social conditions. These influenced or even directed its characteristics and its intended meaning. After
a devastating blow to the film industry in the 1960 s, filmmakers of Australia had stopped creating and
making quality Australian films. However, the Australian New Wave brought a revival of the
Australian film industry during the 70 s, 80 s and 90 s. It introduced Australian qualities into film,
including larrikinism, mateship and a classless social hierarchy. The Castle and Gallipoli confirm,

It is used as a historical source as it depicts the events of World War 1 in Gallipoli during 1915.
Gallipoli is believed as valid representation of our country as the film contains relatable characters
which we, as Australians, are eager to identify with. The public s perception of Australian films has
being forever changed since the first showcasing of the film Gallipoli as it explores the qualities of
mateship, sense of national pride, and the willingness to do the impossible and place their lives at risk
for our country. Gallipoli starts off being presented in circular narrative, revolving around the two
central characters Archy and Frank in their two separate environments. By commencing the film in
this way, viewers are given the opportunity to see the differences in character both in their overall
appearance. Archy s frank s relationship and their true connection of mateship can be seen developing
through the repeated scenes of them running together. These running scenes are metaphors for their
evolving sense of mateship and intensely validate Australians properly. This initially competitive
relationship developed into a classic example of mateship and is a valid representation of Australian
people and it is continually promoting and affirming our ability to produce films with promotional
messages that connection with the typical audience. It has become a symbol of Australia s national

Stewart David Nozette Research Paper
Introduction On September 7, 2011, a guilty plea to one count of attempted espionage by one of the
most noted space scientists in America shook the nation to its core. On that day, Stewart David
Nozette, a respected U.S. scientist who had worked on the Star Wars missile shield effort and helped
discover water on the moon became a disgraced criminal. Nozette was arrested in October of 2009 for
attempting to provide classified information to a person he believed to be an Israeli Mossad agent
(Fitzpatrick 2009). His guilty plea brought closure to a case that required the cooperation of a
significant number of U.S. agencies and departments and serves as a prime example of what happens

Nozette is no different as his resume is full of high level jobs and astounding educational successes.
Nozette received a Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in
1983 which served as his launching pad to work in various capacities on behalf of the U.S.
government in the development of state of the art programs in defense and space (Office of Public
Affairs 2011). In 1989, Stewart Nozette began holding sensitive and high profile positions within the
U.S. government, which included working at the White House on the National Space Council,
Executive Office of the President (Washington Field Office 2012). He also gained notoriety with his
work as a physicist for the U.S. Department of Energy s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory,
where he designed highly advanced technology (Washington Field Office 2012). According to a
factual proffer that was submitted in support of his guilty plea, from 1989 through 2006, Nozette held
security clearances as high as TOP SECRET and had regular, frequent access to classified information
and documents related to the national defense of the United States (Office of Public Affairs 2011).
Throughout all of his work during this time period, Nozette never gave the impression that he could be
a traitor to the United States. Craig Covault, editor at large for SpaceFlightNow.com, who interviewed
Nozette multiple times while covering the aerospace industry stated, To my knowledge, he was a
dedicated scientist whose manner would give you no clue he was a spy. He was a very solid

Neuromuscular Junction Essay
EFFECT OF EXERCISE TRAINING ON NEUROMUSCULAR JUNCTION MOLECULAR
PATHWAYS:
The benefits of physical exercise for humans are known for many years and physical training can
interfere positively in the up regulation and protein expression of several molecules and growth
factors. Firstly, the physical exercise can alter the expression of Glial cell line derived neurotropic
factor (GDNF) differently in slow and fast muscle fibers, and thereby affect peripheral motor neurons.
Wehrwein, Roskelley Spitsbergen (2011) showed that 4 weeks of walking exercise on a treadmill
increased GDNF content in soleus, gastrocnemius and pectoralis major muscles, while limb
immobilization generated opposite effect. In addition, increased expression of Neurotrophin ... Show

exercise training is done throughout life, it delays death expectancy and displays more compact
neuromuscular junction structure at older age. Thus, Among various strategies found in the scientific
literature, exercise and/or physical training appears as activity of easy implementation and low cost for

An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73 Essay example
An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73
Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare is widely read and studied. But what is Shakespeare trying to say?
Though it seems there will not be a simple answer, for a better understanding of Shakespeare s Sonnet
73, this essay offers an explication of the sonnet from The Norton Anthology of English Literature:
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the
form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a
fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet,
usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three
quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef
gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem,
especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82).
The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly
most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme
patterns (Bender and Squier xxii).
The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of
approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al.
867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year
(first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me,
and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the

Err Vanessa George Assignment
Vanessa George has been an employee for 3 years at Little Ted s day nursery in Plymouth. Neighbours
describe Miss George as a respectable member of the community, co workers and parents describe her
as being a fun and bubbly person who was easy to get along with. Before starting at Little Ted s she
worked as a classroom assistant in an unnamed school for 6 years.
To make a little extra on her time off she would child mind for local parents in the community. In

quite a few members of society lost faith in the schools and nursery s which in turn had a huge impact
on the businesses which owned them many children were removed from them for a time until society
were more confident to return their children to the nursery s.
An apology was made but this still presented the issue of the decision of why Miss George was
employed in the first place, the police reassured parents that the checks were made but Miss George
had no prior offences or records on file as this was a first time offence.
Testimony provided by the school which for security reasons remains unnamed stated that they never
even had any suspicions about Vanessa George in all the years she was working for them. This
testimony supports the possible defence that she had no prior record and that she was not suspected
until evidence was found just prior to her arrest.
My personal opinion would be that phones should be kept in the staff office for use only in
emergences and personal break times. This eliminates the temptation for any staff to get distracted
from there duties of care for the children. As for school/ class trips phones should be turned off at all
times only to be used in an emergency to contact parents and or emergency services. Each

At the beginning of the novel, we are introduced to Huckleberry Finn being taught to act like a
gentleman. However, these teachings have little effect on the boy, as he would often sneak out to

has, in order to satisfy his unquenchable thirst for alcohol. When Huck refuses to fulfill his fathers
demands, Pap takes him away to a lonely cabin on the shores of Illinois. At first, Huck enjoys the
freedom but his fathers violent out lashes and drunken stupors become too much. Which leads Huck to

Waterfall and Extreme Programming are two software project methods used for project management.
Although there are a number of opinions comparing the two methods regarding how they should be
applied, none have used project data to clearly conclude which one is better. In this paper, we present

The faculty decided to use Extreme Programming as the method for the Foundations course because it
was an agile method, it had good engineering practices, and it was a safe sandbox environment for
engineers to try paired programming since many managers in industry were initially skeptical about its
benefits. In 2005, the faculty allowed three of the sixteen teams tried our new curriculum to see if
there were any serious issues in the switch, while other thirteen teams continued to follow a start point
in 2004. The feedback was extremely positive so in 2006, all teams followed Extreme Programming.
For the project plan duration, Waterfall teams needed fifteen weeks to finish their tasks where as
Extreme Programming teams were given only thirteen weeks, a 13% reduction in time.
1.2.2. PET 1.1: In 2005, the VP of Engineering advised the three teams that rewriting the code from
scratch would be easier than working with the existing code base. Team 30:1 decided to use the latest
in Java technologies including Swing and Hibernate. PET 1.1, the team s product became the starting
point for the students in the following year.
1.2.3. PET 1.2: In 2008, the faculty switched the core technology from Java to Ruby on
Rails. Ruby on Rails convention over configuration, afforded a lower learning curve for students. For
Pet 1.2, students would build their projects from scratch.

Nietzsche s Influence On Religion
Friedrich Nietzsche on Religion
Friedrich Nietzsche was born in Germany and was originally a very religious person. But while he
was studying Theology the study of religion from University of Bonn, he became a loyal atheist after
reading Arthur Schopenhauer s Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung. Nietzsche is the most. There can
be little doubt that Nietzsche is the most influential figure in modern atheism.
Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the most interesting, litigious and probably one of the clearest thinkers
in western history. His philosophy still fascinates enthusiasts and the curious till date. He is considered
one of the fathers of a still popular philosophical movement called existentialism. He was of the view
that people are free and they can control their destiny on their own. They are capable of having a good
life if they want. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the philosophy of religion by Nietzsche has
had great brilliant influence around the world. He was the creator of the famous quote God is dead...

According to him people follow religion as a shield to protect themselves from their fears of their
death and triviality. In doing so they justify that they are very weak. Nietzsche believed that sooner or
later a better kind of human race shall emerge whom he called the Ubermensch in German meaning a
superior human. He claimed that as man was evolved from apes, this Ubermensch will emerge from
this weak man as a superior human who will be without fear. So Nietzsche was sure that one day the
Ubermensch will be able to do whatever they wished and the weaker folk, will simply have to adjust
with it. According to Nietzsche there is no such thing as the truth, lawfulness or parity. There is only

A P, a short story by John Updike, is about a young boy named Sammy who works at a grocery store.
On a regular but also slow day at work, Sammy can t seem to notice three young girls that walk into
the store barefoot and wearing bathing suits. He watches them closely as they go from aisle to aisle
and wonders why they are even in the store dressed the way they are and what they could possibly be

Similarities And Differences Between Les Miserables And...
Les Miserables and The Kite Runner are two different novels, because Amir doesn t feel like he is
treated like his father s son. Each person has a strong importance in each of these novels. In real life
today, parents try to give their kids the world. They spoil them, they give them more than they could
ever ask for, and sometimes, the kids even take advantage of their parents. Amir and Cosette feel
different towards their parents and are treated differently. Amir gives us the sense of anger towards his
father because he feels he should be loved more. Cosette is treated like a real child and is given all the
love and attention she is entitled to. The parent and child relationships in Les Miserables and The Kite
Runner have important roles. In both of these novels, the parents protect and take care of the kids.
In Les Miserables, Cosette, the daughter of Jean Valjean, has had a rough life. Her mother, Fantine,
gave her to the Thenardiers because she couldn t afford to take care of her. After Fantine dies, Jean

Jean Valjean buys Cosette from the Thenardiers, and starts to show her the love and respect she

Martin Luther King s Speech
Martin Luther King is known the best for fighting for civil rights. He gave his last speech in Memphis
to help the sanitation workers to help him fight for rights and freedom. He empathizes his feeling to
inspire his people to get what they should deserve like other race. His main purpose was to get the
sanitation workers/his people to fight for what they deserve and their rights to be equal. In Martin
Luther King Jr s, I have been on the mountaintop, he gave a speech to help inspire the sanitation
workers to keep fighting for fair and equal treatment by using Anaphora, Allusion, and Metaphor. His
last speech was given in Mason church on April 3, 1968. His Audience that he gave a speech to was
the sanitation workers. More than One thousand three hundred sanitation workers are on strike. The
larger occasion was the refusal of Memphis he sees that there was something is happening to the

audience to fight for their treatment and equal rights. Martin Luther King Jr gave a speech to inspire
the sanitation workers to keep fighting for fair treatment by using Anaphora. In his speech, he explains
how black women stabbed him in his chest and he almost dies. One news says that if he had sneeze

black people during their protest. He was happy that he didn t sneeze or he wouldn t have seen what
changes. This made the audience feel glad for him that he is still alive with them and did not sneeze.
Another thing that he repeats I would ... he says this because if you re claiming is not to stop, you d

My Interview With My Direct Manager, Dianna Ulrich Hope
In a global economy, U.S. companies are becoming more diverse, whether through a global customer
base, or through acquisition of other companies based outside of the U.S. With these developments the
workplace becomes an amalgamation of individuals with different worldviews. These differences are
the result of different educational backgrounds, and cultural norms. Though there are sometimes
impediments that are created due to a conflict in viewpoints, overwhelmingly the benefits from the
variety of perspectives outweighs any of the detriments. This view is not only one held by me
personally, but one that most quality managers of successful international companies hold true as well.
My interview with my direct manager, Dianna Ulrich Hope, proved valuable in confirming my

Stevie Smith Poetry Analysis
Smith s life reflected in poems
As an English poet who lived through the age of unrest (1902 1971), Stevie Smith had a mysterious
life. Although Smith claimed that the characters she wrote about did not exist outside her work, her
novel is considered self reflective, and later turned into a play and a movie. Her unique poems also
shed lights on her life. Stevie Smith s unusual life experiences and viewpoints impact her poems
immensely in the aspects of simple forms, detached emotion, and uncanny themes.
Smith s clear and calm regard of life defines the simple forms in her works. Avoiding cliches, her
sentences directly penetrate people s mind. Her poems are influenced by the trend of light verse during
her time. According to Bernard, ...... light verse is the English national neurosis, and the doggerel that
has leapt from the pens of even the most serious of English poets is staggering (Bernard). Using the
properties of a light verse, Smith is able to create a innocent tone, tricking people to laugh. At the
same time, the seemingly delighted lines trigger people s contemplation for deeper layers of
desolation. Many of her poems resembles ballads, lullabies, and nursery rhymes, accompanied by
childlike doodles. These forms of poem appear simple and humorous, friendly to little children, and
easy to recite and remember. For example, the poem Tender Only to One takes form in a lullaby with
lilting meters. It begins with the flower plucking game, which indicates the childlike innocence and
playfulness. However, as the poem unfolds, the uncertainty and eccentricity evolve. In the last stanza,
the imageries of Latest breath , cry out aloud , and icy shroud (Poetry Foundation) all together create
an eerie feeling, which leads to the solemn and heavy subject of death. Her narration style is consistent
with her biography, for both of them are clear and crisp like checklists, representing a life measuring
out in coffee spoons, punctuated by enthusiasms (Zarin), without euphuism and decoration.
Stevie s works presents detached emotions and lurking darkness due to her childhood trauma and her
social life. Her poem Voices about the Princess Anemone (Stevenson) contains elusive tones and
passive attitude,

How Double-Strand Breaks
One explanation as to how x rays effect cells is that the radiation causes double strand breaks (DSBs).
A double strand break is a lesion within DNA which can prevent replication, cause deletions, or cause
translocations of the DNA. All of the named effects have the potential to cause a mutation to a cell
(Negritto, 2010). Double strand breaks are known as genomic rearrangements because it has been
shown to change the genetic code of a cell. All of the effects of DSBs may lead to an increase in the
recombination of genes in chromosomes, which may explain how the cells are mutated. In one
experiment, cells were exposed to x ray radiation in order to test the frequency of DSB. H2AX is a
type of proteins that repairs double strand breaks

The Curious Enlightenment Of Professor Caritat Analysis
The Curious Enlightenment of Professor Caritat, written by Steven Lukes. Towards the finale of the
novel, Lukes briefly introduces a new collective set of characters to his audience. These new
characters are environmentalists. Lukes did not simply add these characters to fill up empty space in
his story plot. However, Lukes did this intentionally to have the environmentalists to be the symbolic
embodiment of enlightenment ideas. In addition, Lukes also wanted to install a stark contrast between
the enlightenment, and the other philosophies discussed in the novel.

Persuasive Essay On Spending Money
According to GoBankingRates.com, almost 57% of Americans say they have less than $1,000 in their
savings account, while 39% say they have no money into a savings account. Also, a survey by
BankRate relieved that almost 60% of Americans wouldn t be able to pay for a $500 expense because
they don t have enough saves. I will ensure that I will have more than $1,000 in my savings account
when I get older by understanding that decisions I make now will impact my lifestyle drastically and
that it is smarter to save and then spend when needed instead of being in growing debt. When I m
older I will have a structured savings plan, so I can ensure that I will have enough wealth to live off of
and enough money to cover any unexpected expenses or debts that I may have. As a teenager, I can
invest my money, and save as much money as I can before I m older. I can do this by not spending
money on things that I know will not benefit me long term, and by trying to earn money from various
sources such as my parent or family and different jobs.
A study by COUNTRY Financial shows that 36% of Americans would rather be concerned with
paying for their next vacation then have good retirement savings. Americans are more concerned with
paying for their vacations than saving enough for retirement because we would rather spend and live a
lavish life now than being smart with our money and saving it for retirement or when we might need
it. When I retire I want to have enough money to be able to travel

The Death Of Robespierre, Leader Of The Jacobins Essay
Marat was sitting in his bathtub, he received a visitor by the name of Charlotte Corday, who had been
refused admittance earlier in the day. She claimed to have vital information on escaped Girondins and
proceeded to list off the names of the missing Girondins. After he had finished writing out the list,
Corday claimed that he told her, It will not be long before they are guillotined , a statement she later
changed at her trial to, I will shortly have them all guillotined in Paris . With that statement, Corday
retrieved a knife she had brought and plunged it into his chest. Marat cried out in agony saying Aidez
moi, ma chère amie! ( Help me, my dear friend! ) and died. After Marat s death, Maximilien
Robespierre, leader of The Jacobins, was appointed as the head of The Committee of Public Safety on
July 27, 1793. Although Robespierre was a bourgeoisie, he identified with the plight of the sans
culottes and would become their voice as the revolution progressed. It was because of this
representation that he would become a prominent figure at the most radical point in the revolution. He
defended the principle that the rights of man should extend to all men including the poor, and the
slaves in the colonies. Beginning in the spring of 1792 and forward, France was in an upheaval. The
country was involved in foreign wars, civil war and revolt. While revolutionaries were planning a new

One way they were able to achieve through the 1905 Hester Street painting that celebrated the

Native American Technological Advancements
Were Native American cultures primitive and have little technological advancement?
A common belief about Native Americans is that their culture is primitive and that they had little
technological advancements. Images of spear wielding men with feathers on their heads, running
around in the forest pop into your mind when thinking about Native Americans. Images of women
with tribal paint on their face, holding a basket of corn pop into your mind when thinking about Native
Americans. When learning about the settlement of the Americas, the Europeans are portrayed superior
in knowledge and technology compared to the savages that lived there. Through history we see Native
Americans as primitive and technologically inferior; this was because of the Europeans quick
succession in conquering them with medieval/Asian technology. Native Americans lived in huts
slightly below the ground surface. These huts ...were covered with thatch... on their walls and roofs.
This is a prime example on their primitive lifestyle and how they used the environment around them to
support them. Native American s lifestyle would not function properly if things such as long grass, for
thatches, didn t grow around them. The Europeans, upon arrival to the Americas, built their houses out
of wood; this was accomplished using tools such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Actual Mechanism of Heat Loss during Exercise
Actual Mechanism of Heat Loss during Exercise
High heat and humidity reduce body s ability to lose heat by radiation or convection and evaporation.
While exercising, the heat production within muscle and it is transfer from the core to the skin. Under
appropriate environmental conditions, excess body heat dissipates to the environment which regulates
the core temperature within a narrow range. During exercise in the heat, the heat loss mechanisms
compete with the active muscles for more of the limited blood volume. Thus, neither area is
adequately supplied under extreme conditions.
Heat conduction is when the heat transferred from one material to another through direct molecular
contact. Heat generated deep in the body can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, exercise in heat can hasten glycogen depletion and increase muscle lactate.
Actual Mechanism of Heat Gain during Shivering
Shivering is a rapid, involuntary cycle of contraction and relaxation of skeletal muscles which can
cause a four to fivefold increase in the body s resting rate of energy production. During shivering the
muscles are cool and this causes it became weaker. The nervous system responds to muscle fiber
recruitment patterns. Both muscle shortening velocity and power decrease significantly when
temperature is lowered.
Sweating Mechanism and the Factors that Influence Sweating Rate.
Sweating increases during exercise in the heat, and this can quickly lead to dehydration and excessive
electrolyte loss. To compensate, the release of aldosterone and ADH increases, causing sodium and
water retention, which can expand the plasma volume. Increased dependence on evaporation means an
increased demand for sweating. The sweat glands are controlled by stimulation of the hypothalamus.
Elevated blood temperature causes the hypothalamus to transmit impulses through the sympathetic
nerve fibers to the millions of sweat glands distributed over the body s surface.
Sweat is formed by the secretory portion of the sweat gland. As the filtrate sweat passes through the
duct of the gland, sodium and chloride are gradually reabsorbed back into the surrounding tissues and
then into the blood. When

They should have the ability to voice their opinions through the initiative process, the recall, and the

Food Insecurity Is A Fact For Millions Of Americans
Food insecurity is a fact for millions of American every day in our country. Children, adults, and the
elderly of all races, living in poverty or in lower middle class families, are at a higher risk of not
having enough to eat. The United States, in 2012, used roughly 40% or 915 million acres of all US
land as farmland (USDA 2014, 1), yet as a nation we cannot feed all of our people. The American
government subsidizes commodity crops, such as corn, wheat, and soy more than any other type of
crop in the United States, (This does not include the subsidies directly paid to the meat and dairy
industry, which is a whole other paper!). Government subsidies are less common for the production of
fresh fruits and vegetables. Government subsidies encourage farmers to grow commodity crops
instead of growing fruits and vegetables for consumers at competitive prices creating food insecurity.
The cheap production of commodity crops force families in the lower middle class and poverty to
choose a diet of processed food, which are less nutritious than fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole
grains causing many of the health problems that we see in the population today. According to the
USDA website in 2015, 12.7 percent, or 15.8 million of American households were food insecure. A
food insecure household is a household that had difficulty at some time during the year providing
enough nutritious food for all the members in a household due to a lack of resources (Coleman Jensen,

Denmark Vesey Essay
Denmark Vesey was an African American leader of an attempted slave insurrection in 1822. After
many years as a slave, he won $1,500 in a lottery. Vesey used this money to purchase his freedom. He
used his intelligence, energy, and luck to acquire considerable wealth and influence in South Carolina.
All of these factors helped lead to the largest attempted slave revolt in American history. David
Robertson s book Denmark Vesey outlines his life as a slave, to his freedom, to his execution, and the
consequences of the aftermath.

Denmark Vesey was detailed in certain areas such as antebellum conditions and other generally known
events of the time. It had a considerable lack of detail in the area of the actual plans of revolt, those
involved, and other issues.
Vesey took advantage of his situation after being freed from slavery, and educated himself. His
intelligence and passion for abolishing slavery were the two key elements to his plans for revolt. The
years 1820 1822 was the time period between Vesey s freedom and death. In these two years, Vesey
called assemblies for the slaves and abolitionists, covering the meetings with church gatherings. Here,
he used religious and moral ideals to preach to those opposed to slavery. Denmark Vesey had a strong
sense of idealism, and an aggressive spirit, which he used to persuade people into the rebellion. He
preached a doctrine of a consciousness of and pride in the cultural and physical aspects of the African
heritage. With this, he was able to attract large numbers of blacks and abolitionists to partake in an
enthusiastic undertaking that was difficult and extremely risky.
Denmark Vesey and his recruits had cruel intentions for the city of Charleston. In their church
meetings, they planned to assassinate the governor and other highly elected

The Problems Of Municipal Administration By Jane Addams
The Problems of Municipal Administration written by Jane Addams described the problems of public
administration in targeted social publics that affected the community, specifically she mentioned the
inequalities and injustices of municipal administration. The author stars by pointing out the failure of
municipal administration to address the issues emerging in society. The social changes brought by the
increased of industrialization in the 18th century failed to address the necessities of society. Addams
emphasized, ...failure in municipal administration, the so called shame of American cities, may be
largely due to the inadequacy of those eighteen century ideals, with the breakdown of the machinery
which they provided, and further, to the weakness inherent in the historic and doctrinaire method
when it attempts to deal with growing and human institutions (p. 51). The lack of adjustment between
democracy and the study of the external conditions affecting the communities was a problems that
governmental officials failed to take into consideration. The increased of industrialization in American
cities brought a new social demand to public officials who were unprepared to target the existing
issues of society. Administrative officers started to gaining power to conduct intervention programs or

Assess the Significance of Strategic Factors in Bringing...
Assess the significance of strategic factors in bringing about change in relation to expansion and
dismantling of the British Empire in Africa in the period c1870 c1981
The British expansion into the Dark Continent rose as fast as it declined, although there were many
contributing factors to expansion, those same factors then contributed to the decolonisation of the
continent. Historian Bernard Porter argues that formal imperialism for Britain was a symptom and an
effect of its relative decline in the world, and not of strength. Therefore it was strategic policy that
influenced Britain s expansion in Africa, more so than economic or moral aims. Strategic policy, in
definition, is the foreign policy of Britain changing due to internal ... Show more content on

However G.N. Sanderson has another view and suggests the partition predated Britain s Egyptian
occupation the rivalry between European power s account for a large part of the colonisation of Africa.
This resulted in the occupation of African territory by Europeans powers, all determined to secure
states within the continent to increase their stronghold in the world. This suggests that British
expansion after this time was to secure stronghold in Africa and to also maintain their superiority.
From the 1870s, the European balance of power had become less certain, particularly with the rise of
United Germany. Historian AJP Taylor linked this process to rise in aggressive European nationalism,
which led directly to overseas expansionism in order to confirm international status amongst European
states . Therefore suggesting that strategic factors had a large part to play in the expansion of the
British Empire in to Africa, also the expansion of other European nations, which triggered the
Scramble for Africa and also Britain at this time needed to maintain their status so expansion in this
period was needed.
Another view of the expansion in to Africa is the Berlin Conference of 1884 85, which began the
aggressive phase of African occupation by European powers. The doctrine of effective occupation
forced countries wishing to have a stake in Africa to establish a formal presence, rather than the
popular and economically convenient informal supremacy At

Description Of The Red Kangaroo
Describing Movement The Red Kangaroo
Introduction
The Red Kangaroo Macropus rufus is the largest of the marsupial family residing across the deserts
and grasslands of Australia (SDZG, 2011). The Red Kangaroo is a herbivorous species with an
unusual method of locomotion, hopping, also known as saltatory locomotion; hopping is unique to
members of the kangaroo and wallaby family (Dawson, 1995). A red kangaroo is capable of hopping
at speeds of 30mph using its muscular hind legs to propel and tail as counterbalance and support
(Marshall Cavendish Corporation, 2010). The kangaroo s body and musculoskeletal structure of large
hindlimbs and short forelimbs has evolved to adapt to its hopping gait. Ancestors of the species were
quadrupedal, the only exception to this evolutionary change is the smaller Musky Rat Kangaroo
Hypsiprymnodon moschatus which still uses a quadrupedal plantigrade gait (Richardson, 2012).
Why Hopping?
It is commonly known that Australia is a large country, and with a total of 7,692,024 km2, it is the
sixth largest country in the world (GA, 2014). Considering most of the land is arid, there is a limited
amount of resources readily available for the grazing kangaroo, so it is necessary for it to be able to
travel far distances efficiently to reach water before dehydrating. Kangaroos are prey animals, with the
main predator being the Dingo with additional predation coming from commercial shooting for human
consumption (Dawson, 1995), the Red Kangaroo has

The Spiritual Journey Of Jesus
Introduction
I have chosen Worship as my most favoured Christian discipline. Worship comes to me as a natural
practice to give thanks and gratitude to Jesus for all he s done and is doing for all humanity. I praise
and pray on a daily basis, either through quiet reflective time in prayer to listening to worship music in
the car, work and at home. Worship allows me to give thanks for the incredible gifts Jesus has given
me and keeps my mind focused my spiritual journey in Jesus. Jesus is worth all the worship and praise
as it says in Romans 12:1 2: I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your
bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God which is your spiritual service of worship. And
do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may
prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable, or well pleasing and perfect.
Summarise your original understanding of the discipline before the course started Being a new
Christian I quickly learnt symbolic acts of worship involved singing, praising and partaking in
communion at Sunday church. Worship to me is about giving thanks to the Trinity. Remembering how
much Jesus loves us and what he endured on the cross for us is a vital part of remembrance through
worship through partaking in the communion. I didn t realise that through worship I would receive
such clarity and truth through the Holy Spirit and a knowing that God sent his only son

Why Is The 13th Amendment Important
History Of The 13th Amendment The 13th amendment has got to be one of the most important
amendments from the reconstruction era. It not only freed slaves from slavery, but it was the
beginning of a whole new world. Though racism and segregation was still an issue, African Americans
were no longer anyone s property.
How it all started On November 16, 1860, Abraham Lincoln became the sixteenth president of the
United States. He was the first president of the Republican Party. Lincoln was never a fan of slavery.
He believed that If slavery were not wrong then nothing were wrong. The big issue he saw since he
was a young lawyer was that the constitution protected slavery. No one really believed in having an
Emancipation. It was actually a huge fear that everyone had. They believed that soldiers would not
fight if there were an Emancipation. It took Lincoln a while to figure out that if there ... Show more

the Civil War. The passing of the amendment was not the main reason for the start of the Civil War,
but it was a very big start to the fire. There is one fact that i found about the Amendment that was very
interesting to me. One fact was that the Amendment/ Lincoln was able to ban slavery. Something that
the founding fathers were not able to consider when they wrote the document not much then seventy
years before. The Amendment was a new beginning for a lot of people, not only African Americans.

The Energy Of Energy Usage

Historically, the distillation of alcohol (spirits, wine and vodka) has been a high end consumer in
terms of energy usage. According to U.S. Dept. of Energy, there are more than 40,000 distillation

distillation columns that are more compact, utilize compressors to recirculate latent heat and possess
more effective separation technology in order to reduce energy consumption.
The principal topics of research that pose effective solutions to these present day energy challenges
are: the use of divided wall columns (DWC), self heat recuperation ... Show more content on

[3] shows that by using dividing wall columns, the uninstalled equipment cost for the total column
configuration is reduced by about 10%. The capital costs savings result from a reduction equipment
quantity. There are also indirect benefits; a dividing wall column requires less plot area, shorter piping,
electrical runs and smaller storm runoff system [3]. When compared to a conventional two column
system, capital costs savings of up to 30% is typical [2]. In summary, fully thermally coupled
columns/configurations/ arrangements require less energy than conventional counterparts, because of
providing operating conditions that avoid or minimize entropy of mixing formation, which in case of
conventional configurations occurs, more or less pronounced, at the feed stage, the ends of the
columns, and due to remixing of internal flows [8].
Self Heat Recuperation Technology
In order to separate ethanol contents from water, enormous amounts of heat must be applied to the
azeotropic mixture during distillation. According to Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, an
ethanol water mixture must be distilled at 78.3 degrees Celsius to reach the 80 proof content level of
standard vodka [9]. As a result, the heat needed to distill vodka creates the need to explore sources of
recycled energy. As investigated by Matsuda et al., self heat recuperation technology utilizes not only
latent heat but also the sensible

Interpersonal Communication Skill Of Feedback
The interpersonal communication skill of feedback is essential for hospital nurses to give a suitable
care to each patient because it enables the nurses to learn, and improve their motivation, performance
and efficiency that assist to achieve their goal which is to help the patients heal. The interpersonal
communication skill of feedback is a system of conveying information between two people regarding
the receiver s performance (Baker et al. 2013). In general, feedback is employed to deliver
information about interim objectives and recent behaviour or performance, and to guide individuals on
expected enhancement and outcomes for the organisation (Baker et al. 2013). Receiving feedback
provides individuals with information on their strengths and weaknesses, which allow them to have an
opportunity to build self improvement plans if the individuals are willing to change their behaviour or
performance (De Janasz et al. 2014). Suitable feedback within an organisation results in positive
behaviour changes which improve efficiency of the organisation (Baker et al. 2013). There is evidence
showing that supportive feedback employments promote improved openness to feedback, increased
feedback seeking behaviour, and inspiration to use feedback and change performance behaviour
(Baker et al. 2013). When nurses identify feedback as a helpful resource that can enhance the quality
of care, feedback can lead to an outstanding advancement promoting the nurses well being (Giesbers
et al.

The High School Dropout Rate
1. If society were to reduce the local high school dropout rate, then I believe that society could
progress rapidly with more skilled thinkers in the workforce. When a student drops out of high school,
he or she is far less likely to succeed. This is due to the fact that most, if not all, skilled jobs that earn a
decent living salary require a high school diploma at the very least. By decreasing the local high
school dropout rate, our society would be giving those would be dropouts an opportunity to succeed
and earn a higher position in society.
There is currently a decline in the high school dropout rate, however this decline is very slight and
would hardly be noticeable in the short term. The reasons as to why high school students ... Show

The current situation of high school students dropping out has been steadily declining since the early
1990 s. This could serve society very well if that trend continues to a point where dropping out of high
school become relatively unheard of. A social dysfunction of high school is that it creates a class
system between those with a high school diploma and those without one. The manifest function of
high school is to provide people with the skills and critical thinking ability to obtain some type base
level skilled work as well as provides a way to help keep kids safe and out of trouble. In contrast, a
high school dropout would have none of those functions and would likely not be employed in skilled
work and as a result might have to turn to criminal activities for an income.
I do not believe that there is any group that benefits from high school students dropping out. People
who drop out of high school will usually have to rely on government subsidies, which in turn will
burden the general population due to higher taxes. I believe that if the high school dropout rate were to
be less than one percent, then society would progress more rapidly due to more skilled thinkers in the
workforce. One of the ways that this could be done is by addressing what I believe to be the main
cause of dropping out which is a lack of academic support. If students who appeared to be struggling
were given more tutoring and after school educational programs, then they might not feel

The University Of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum Essay
In order to compose this assignment, I visited the University of South Florida Contemporary Art
Museum (CAM). The USF Contemporary Art Museum is a compact museum on campus located near
the Dance buildings and the Theatres. The museum opened its establishment in 1989 and has offered a
wide range of art from around the world including the United States, Africa, Europe, and Latin
America (usfcam.usf.edu). In order to keep students engaged in the art, the museum changes its
exhibits a couple times a year. Currently, the exhibition on display is entitled Extracted and
incorporates the extraction and circulation of natural resources around the globe (Megan Voeller).
Despite the museum being not large in size, I was able to attain a sense of nature through photographs,
sculptures, video messages, and banners produced from artists including Otobang Nkanga, Marina
Zurkow, Claire Pentecost, Mary Mattingly and Daniel Shiffman. The social angle most strongly
related to the exhibit on display at this time is nature and culture. Extracted was motivated by
relationships between humans and the environment referring to complex technical processes behind
oil drilling and mining or industrial agriculture (Megan Voeller). Most of the artists focus their work
on nature including the environment, ecosystems, and life itself. One artists in particular whose work
stood out to me was Claire Pentecost with her work Soil erg. This distinct exposition was located in

Music Choices Affecting Driving Habits
Whether you take long trips regularly, or you simply drive back and forth to work, you likely listen to
music while you are driving. During this time, you may wonder, Can different music choices affect
your driving habits? Studies have looked at this question and found that your music choices can
influence how you drive. Negative Feelings Toward Song= Negative Driving Experience When it
comes to music, your feelings concerning the song can influence your driving. In a UK study from
2013, eight people, four men and four women, each drove 500 miles. For the first half of the trip, they
did not listen to music at all. The second half of the trip, they all listened to music. The study found
that listening to music you do not like can be stressful and a distraction, which will negatively
influence the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, faster songs lead to more excitement, which can then cause the person to concentrate on
the song more than on the road. Along with that, a faster, upbeat tempo can cause drivers to
unconsciously speed up to match the song s beat. That does not mean slower beats are ideal either.
According to the study, slower songs can cause a person to relax too much, thereby making the person
less alert. The ideal driving song will have between 60 80 beats per minute, which mimics the beat of
the human heart. Looking at a few of the specific drivers in the study, one women drove faster and
engaged in last minute breaking when she was listening to hip hop music. A male driver listening to a
heavy metal playlist drove much faster than the other drivers. While it might not be shocking to find
that both of these genres negatively influenced these drivers driving, many people might be surprised
to learn that classical music actually caused one male and one female driver to drive more erratically
than when they were not listening to any music at all. The Canadian

Bletchley Blitz Research Paper
Unraveling the Enigma
Code breaking was a crucial part of the secret efforts of the allied forces during World War II. Though
modern day code breaking is a feat which can be achieved by means of using advanced technology,
during World War II, code breaking was a vital and dangerous endeavour. The Nazi s Enigma code
was one of the most difficult and essential ciphers to unscramble. The Bletchley Park code breakers
actually created what was considered the first prototype of a computer for the purpose cracking the
Enigma code. In deciphering the Enigma code many lives were lost, however, a larger number of lives
were saved. The Coventry Blitz was a prime example of how lives were lost in order to preserve the
secrecy of the Enigma code. Cracking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before World War II, Coventry was an important manufacturing and engineering city in England
which supplied the British military with products and materials essential to Britain s war preparations.
Once the Enigma code had been decrypted, the code breakers discovered information about one of the
main Nazi attacks on Coventry, codenamed Operation Moonlight Sonata to the Nazis. News of this
attack was revealed to Churchill through FW Winterbotham, a British Royal Air Force officer who
supervised the distribution of ULTRA intelligence (Winston Churchill). ULTRA was the codename for
any vital information obtained from the intercepted Nazi Enigma messages (History). Winterbotham
delivered the intelligence to Churchill when Coventry s name was decrypted from Nazi messages on
November 14, 1940 at 3:00 PM, the afternoon before the raid (Winston Churchill). The November
14th raid was the most vicious attack Coventry experienced during World War II. Nazi bombers
released a deadly amount of dangerous explosives on Coventry. Of the 568 people killed, more than
400 were burned so badly that they were unidentifiable. More than 60 000 buildings were destroyed,
including 27 war factories (History). Although Churchill knew in advance that the Nazis would attack
Coventry, he deliberately withheld the information because warning the city of Coventry and its
residents of the imminent threat would have alerted the Nazis that their codes had been cracked. Had
the Nazis known that their codes had been unravelled, they would begin using a different form of
coded messaging, thus rendering the progress of the code breakers useless. (Daily Mail Online). It was
necessary for Churchill to sacrifice the lives of the people of Coventry to protect the endeavours of the
code breakers in Bletchley

Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing
As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from
an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom
Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he
had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him.
When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor
and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love
and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after
being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present
you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and
defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while
being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky
surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this
torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started
thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more
people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As

Fighting for a Better Health Essay
Fighting for a Better Health
As of today, America has undergone many issues involving health like diabetes, heart disease, and
lung cancer. Many of the health issues are caused by components very well known to us such as
pollution, alcohol, drugs, sexually transmitted diseases, and so forth. Little was known about the fact
that food, being an important necessity for human life, has started America s major epidemic among
children and teens obesity. With more than 50 million youths attending schools everyday (HHS 1), it s
scary to think of the fact that three fourths of the adolescents don t eat a healthy diet. In ... Show more

This gives the students no choice but to eat a healthy school lunch; of course, the students would be
able to buy as much candy as they would like before and after school or during any extracurricular
activity.
Another proposed deterrent is the complete no sale of soda and candy anytime within school property,
otherwise known as a ban. School officials observe the banishment as a major solution to decrease the
rate of obesity among students in America. Even though Federal law prohibits the sale of foods
containing little nutritional value in competition with the school lunch program (Vail 1), many parents
repeatedly argue about the fact that this act of limitation eliminates their students freedom of choice.
Several high school students agree. As spokesman for the Center of Consumer Freedom, John Doyle
says, They can eliminate everything they want, and it will not do one thing to curb obesity (Egan 3).
On the other hand, various school districts have postponed acts of limitation on fattening foods and
beverages due to other reasons.
The number one reason is the fact that the schools would lose thousands of dollars a year in lost
contracts with food companies. According to an industry study, schools across the country get about
$750 million annually from contract deals with companies who are granted permission

  • 3. Adapted Crisis Response Plan For Hilo Intermediate School Adapted Crisis Response Plan Based on the presented information, the following adapted crisis intervention protocols and plan are suggested for Hilo Intermediate School, and could also be implemented in other schools within the district with adaptation as needed for each individual school s unique needs. Additionally, it should be noted that while these steps are presented in a step format, steps can be skipped or repeated as needed to assist in responding to varying crises, emergencies, and disasters. First, a comprehensive school counseling program would be implemented that provided preventative as well as intervention strategies that could help to prevent a crisis or intervene before a crisis occurred (ASCA, 2012). The school counselor would provide classroom guidance lessons to reach all students that would promote areas such as self esteem, and coping strategies. Further, the counselor would provide professional development for teachers to look for warning signs such as aggressive behavior and withdrawal, and refer them for individual or group counseling. During a crisis, the first school personnel on the scene or with the person in crisis would assess and take control of the situation until an administrator or other designee arrived. This would help with providing students and others with clear directions and next step to take, thus alleviating anxiety. Next, the person would address life safety, and call 911 or designate someone to call 911 (SHDOE, 2009). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Efficient Society Vs Efficient Society Tiffany Deichmann Chilton, Lawrence English 1301 25 October, 2017 Efficient Society or Vacant Humanity Extended Definition Preventing the wasteful use of a particular resource is one of the definitions of the word efficient. The most common thought when people hear the word efficient is that when something is efficient it is better than something that by comparison is not as efficient. Now we have gas efficient cars, energy efficient appliances and as many highly efficiently people would say we are working to have a more efficient society. What is the cost of more efficiency, in many things of course the more efficient the better, with more energy efficient cars and appliances we are saving our planet reducing car emissions make for cleaner air that we all breathe and will make us less reliant on fuel and other natural resources. Can a real value or cost be put on the human mind and spirit, what happens to people when they are set aside or determined to be of little or no use, what happens when people begin to question their own worth in the world. In Jeremy Rifkin s book Time Wars includes the reading selection The Efficient Society he is analytical in his explanation of what is being considered to be an efficient society. In the critical analysis he details the time management scenarios that are addressed to make more efficient workers. Corporations need to produce more work from each of its workers and the way that the companies take the time to measure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gallipoli is believed as valid representation of our country as the film contains relatable characters which we, as Australians, are eager to identify with. The public s perception of Australian films has being forever changed since the first showcasing of the film Gallipoli as it explores the qualities of mateship, sense of national pride, and the willingness to do the impossible and place their lives at risk for our country. Gallipoli starts off being presented in circular narrative, revolving around the two central characters Archy and Frank in their two separate environments. By commencing the film in this way, viewers are given the opportunity to see the differences in character both in their overall appearance. Archy s frank s relationship and their true connection of mateship can be seen developing through the repeated scenes of them running together. These running scenes are metaphors for their evolving sense of mateship and intensely validate Australians properly. Though it seems there will not be a simple answer, for a better understanding of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73, this essay offers an explication of the sonnet from The Norton Anthology of English Literature: That time of year thou mayst in me behold When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang Upon those boughs which shake against the cold, Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang. Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet, usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem, especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82). The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme patterns (Bender and Squier xxii). The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al. 867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year (first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me, and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Interview With My Direct Manager, Dianna Ulrich Hope In a global economy, U.S. companies are becoming more diverse, whether through a global customer base, or through acquisition of other companies based outside of the U.S. With these developments the workplace becomes an amalgamation of individuals with different worldviews. These differences are the result of different educational backgrounds, and cultural norms. Though there are sometimes impediments that are created due to a conflict in viewpoints, overwhelmingly the benefits from the variety of perspectives outweighs any of the detriments. This view is not only one held by me personally, but one that most quality managers of successful international companies hold true as well. • 18. Stevie Smith Poetry Analysis Smith s life reflected in poems As an English poet who lived through the age of unrest (1902 1971), Stevie Smith had a mysterious life. Although Smith claimed that the characters she wrote about did not exist outside her work, her novel is considered self reflective, and later turned into a play and a movie. Her unique poems also shed lights on her life. Stevie Smith s unusual life experiences and viewpoints impact her poems immensely in the aspects of simple forms, detached emotion, and uncanny themes. Smith s clear and calm regard of life defines the simple forms in her works. Avoiding cliches, her sentences directly penetrate people s mind. Her poems are influenced by the trend of light verse during her time. According to Bernard, ...... light verse is the English national neurosis, and the doggerel that has leapt from the pens of even the most serious of English poets is staggering (Bernard). Using the properties of a light verse, Smith is able to create a innocent tone, tricking people to laugh. At the same time, the seemingly delighted lines trigger people s contemplation for deeper layers of desolation. Many of her poems resembles ballads, lullabies, and nursery rhymes, accompanied by childlike doodles. These forms of poem appear simple and humorous, friendly to little children, and easy to recite and remember. For example, the poem Tender Only to One takes form in a lullaby with lilting meters. It begins with the flower plucking game, which indicates the childlike innocence and playfulness. However, as the poem unfolds, the uncertainty and eccentricity evolve. In the last stanza, the imageries of Latest breath , cry out aloud , and icy shroud (Poetry Foundation) all together create an eerie feeling, which leads to the solemn and heavy subject of death. Her narration style is consistent with her biography, for both of them are clear and crisp like checklists, representing a life measuring out in coffee spoons, punctuated by enthusiasms (Zarin), without euphuism and decoration. Stevie s works presents detached emotions and lurking darkness due to her childhood trauma and her social life. • 19. How Double-Strand Breaks One explanation as to how x rays effect cells is that the radiation causes double strand breaks (DSBs). A double strand break is a lesion within DNA which can prevent replication, cause deletions, or cause translocations of the DNA. All of the named effects have the potential to cause a mutation to a cell (Negritto, 2010). Double strand breaks are known as genomic rearrangements because it has been shown to change the genetic code of a cell. All of the effects of DSBs may lead to an increase in the recombination of genes in chromosomes, which may explain how the cells are mutated. Towards the finale of the novel, Lukes briefly introduces a new collective set of characters to his audience. These new characters are environmentalists. Lukes did not simply add these characters to fill up empty space in his story plot. However, Lukes did this intentionally to have the environmentalists to be the symbolic embodiment of enlightenment ideas. The United States, in 2012, used roughly 40% or 915 million acres of all US land as farmland (USDA 2014, 1), yet as a nation we cannot feed all of our people. The American government subsidizes commodity crops, such as corn, wheat, and soy more than any other type of crop in the United States, (This does not include the subsidies directly paid to the meat and dairy industry, which is a whole other paper!). Government subsidies are less common for the production of fresh fruits and vegetables. Government subsidies encourage farmers to grow commodity crops instead of growing fruits and vegetables for consumers at competitive prices creating food insecurity. The cheap production of commodity crops force families in the lower middle class and poverty to choose a diet of processed food, which are less nutritious than fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains causing many of the health problems that we see in the population today. Description Of The Red Kangaroo Describing Movement The Red Kangaroo Introduction The Red Kangaroo Macropus rufus is the largest of the marsupial family residing across the deserts and grasslands of Australia (SDZG, 2011). The Red Kangaroo is a herbivorous species with an unusual method of locomotion, hopping, also known as saltatory locomotion; hopping is unique to members of the kangaroo and wallaby family (Dawson, 1995). A red kangaroo is capable of hopping at speeds of 30mph using its muscular hind legs to propel and tail as counterbalance and support (Marshall Cavendish Corporation, 2010). The kangaroo s body and musculoskeletal structure of large hindlimbs and short forelimbs has evolved to adapt to its hopping gait. Ancestors of the species were quadrupedal, the only exception to this evolutionary change is the smaller Musky Rat Kangaroo Hypsiprymnodon moschatus which still uses a quadrupedal plantigrade gait (Richardson, 2012). Why Hopping? It is commonly known that Australia is a large country, and with a total of 7,692,024 km2, it is the sixth largest country in the world (GA, 2014). • 38. Why Is The 13th Amendment Important History Of The 13th Amendment The 13th amendment has got to be one of the most important amendments from the reconstruction era. It not only freed slaves from slavery, but it was the beginning of a whole new world. Though racism and segregation was still an issue, African Americans were no longer anyone s property. How it all started On November 16, 1860, Abraham Lincoln became the sixteenth president of the United States. He was the first president of the Republican Party. Lincoln was never a fan of slavery. He believed that If slavery were not wrong then nothing were wrong. The big issue he saw since he was a young lawyer was that the constitution protected slavery. No one really believed in having an Emancipation. It was actually a huge fear that everyone had. They believed that soldiers would not fight if there were an Emancipation. It took Lincoln a while to figure out that if there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example: the South, the North, Democrats, and Republicans. Democrats believed that it violated the spirit of the constitutional. They also based their reason on Federalism and state rights. On the other hand the Republicans believed that it was uncivilized and that it could possibly restore the spirit of the 1st Amendment. One very big effect that happened after the 13th amendment was the start of the Civil War. The passing of the amendment was not the main reason for the start of the Civil War, but it was a very big start to the fire. There is one fact that i found about the Amendment that was very interesting to me. One fact was that the Amendment/ Lincoln was able to ban slavery. Something that the founding fathers were not able to consider when they wrote the document not much then seventy years before. The Amendment was a new beginning for a lot of people, not only African Americans. This was the beginning of many other Amendments and the birth of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Energy Of Energy Usage Introduction Historically, the distillation of alcohol (spirits, wine and vodka) has been a high end consumer in terms of energy usage. According to U.S. Dept. of Energy, there are more than 40,000 distillation columns in North America and they consume 40% of the total energy used to operate plants in chemical industries [1]. As a result, researchers have focused their efforts towards developing distillation columns that are more compact, utilize compressors to recirculate latent heat and possess more effective separation technology in order to reduce energy consumption. The principal topics of research that pose effective solutions to these present day energy challenges are: the use of divided wall columns (DWC), self heat recuperation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [3] shows that by using dividing wall columns, the uninstalled equipment cost for the total column configuration is reduced by about 10%. The capital costs savings result from a reduction equipment quantity. There are also indirect benefits; a dividing wall column requires less plot area, shorter piping, electrical runs and smaller storm runoff system [3]. When compared to a conventional two column system, capital costs savings of up to 30% is typical [2]. In summary, fully thermally coupled columns/configurations/ arrangements require less energy than conventional counterparts, because of providing operating conditions that avoid or minimize entropy of mixing formation, which in case of conventional configurations occurs, more or less pronounced, at the feed stage, the ends of the columns, and due to remixing of internal flows [8]. Self Heat Recuperation Technology In order to separate ethanol contents from water, enormous amounts of heat must be applied to the azeotropic mixture during distillation. According to Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, an ethanol water mixture must be distilled at 78.3 degrees Celsius to reach the 80 proof content level of standard vodka [9]. As a result, the heat needed to distill vodka creates the need to explore sources of recycled energy. As investigated by Matsuda et al., self heat recuperation technology utilizes not only latent heat but also the sensible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Interpersonal Communication Skill Of Feedback The interpersonal communication skill of feedback is essential for hospital nurses to give a suitable care to each patient because it enables the nurses to learn, and improve their motivation, performance and efficiency that assist to achieve their goal which is to help the patients heal. The interpersonal communication skill of feedback is a system of conveying information between two people regarding the receiver s performance (Baker et al. 2013). In general, feedback is employed to deliver information about interim objectives and recent behaviour or performance, and to guide individuals on expected enhancement and outcomes for the organisation (Baker et al. 2013). Receiving feedback provides individuals with information on their strengths and weaknesses, which allow them to have an opportunity to build self improvement plans if the individuals are willing to change their behaviour or performance (De Janasz et al. 2014). Suitable feedback within an organisation results in positive behaviour changes which improve efficiency of the organisation (Baker et al. 2013). There is evidence showing that supportive feedback employments promote improved openness to feedback, increased feedback seeking behaviour, and inspiration to use feedback and change performance behaviour (Baker et al. 2013). When nurses identify feedback as a helpful resource that can enhance the quality of care, feedback can lead to an outstanding advancement promoting the nurses well being (Giesbers et al. ... • 41. The High School Dropout Rate 1. If society were to reduce the local high school dropout rate, then I believe that society could progress rapidly with more skilled thinkers in the workforce. When a student drops out of high school, he or she is far less likely to succeed. This is due to the fact that most, if not all, skilled jobs that earn a decent living salary require a high school diploma at the very least. By decreasing the local high school dropout rate, our society would be giving those would be dropouts an opportunity to succeed and earn a higher position in society. There is currently a decline in the high school dropout rate, however this decline is very slight and would hardly be noticeable in the short term. The reasons as to why high school students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The current situation of high school students dropping out has been steadily declining since the early 1990 s. This could serve society very well if that trend continues to a point where dropping out of high school become relatively unheard of. A social dysfunction of high school is that it creates a class system between those with a high school diploma and those without one. The manifest function of high school is to provide people with the skills and critical thinking ability to obtain some type base level skilled work as well as provides a way to help keep kids safe and out of trouble. In contrast, a high school dropout would have none of those functions and would likely not be employed in skilled work and as a result might have to turn to criminal activities for an income. I do not believe that there is any group that benefits from high school students dropping out. People who drop out of high school will usually have to rely on government subsidies, which in turn will burden the general population due to higher taxes. I believe that if the high school dropout rate were to be less than one percent, then society would progress more rapidly due to more skilled thinkers in the workforce. One of the ways that this could be done is by addressing what I believe to be the main cause of dropping out which is a lack of academic support. If students who appeared to be struggling were given more tutoring and after school educational programs, then they might not feel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The University Of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum Essay In order to compose this assignment, I visited the University of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum (CAM). The USF Contemporary Art Museum is a compact museum on campus located near the Dance buildings and the Theatres. The museum opened its establishment in 1989 and has offered a wide range of art from around the world including the United States, Africa, Europe, and Latin America (usfcam.usf.edu). In order to keep students engaged in the art, the museum changes its exhibits a couple times a year. Currently, the exhibition on display is entitled Extracted and incorporates the extraction and circulation of natural resources around the globe (Megan Voeller). Despite the museum being not large in size, I was able to attain a sense of nature through photographs, sculptures, video messages, and banners produced from artists including Otobang Nkanga, Marina Zurkow, Claire Pentecost, Mary Mattingly and Daniel Shiffman. The social angle most strongly related to the exhibit on display at this time is nature and culture. Extracted was motivated by relationships between humans and the environment referring to complex technical processes behind oil drilling and mining or industrial agriculture (Megan Voeller). Most of the artists focus their work on nature including the environment, ecosystems, and life itself. One artists in particular whose work stood out to me was Claire Pentecost with her work Soil erg. This distinct exposition was located in the hearth of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During this time, you may wonder, Can different music choices affect your driving habits? Studies have looked at this question and found that your music choices can influence how you drive. Negative Feelings Toward Song= Negative Driving Experience When it comes to music, your feelings concerning the song can influence your driving. In a UK study from 2013, eight people, four men and four women, each drove 500 miles. For the first half of the trip, they did not listen to music at all. Along with that, a faster, upbeat tempo can cause drivers to unconsciously speed up to match the song s beat. That does not mean slower beats are ideal either. According to the study, slower songs can cause a person to relax too much, thereby making the person less alert. The ideal driving song will have between 60 80 beats per minute, which mimics the beat of the human heart. Looking at a few of the specific drivers in the study, one women drove faster and engaged in last minute breaking when she was listening to hip hop music. A male driver listening to a heavy metal playlist drove much faster than the other drivers. While it might not be shocking to find that both of these genres negatively influenced these drivers driving, many people might be surprised to learn that classical music actually caused one male and one female driver to drive more erratically than when they were not listening to any music at all. Though modern day code breaking is a feat which can be achieved by means of using advanced technology, during World War II, code breaking was a vital and dangerous endeavour. The Nazi s Enigma code was one of the most difficult and essential ciphers to unscramble. The Bletchley Park code breakers actually created what was considered the first prototype of a computer for the purpose cracking the Enigma code. In deciphering the Enigma code many lives were lost, however, a larger number of lives were saved. The Coventry Blitz was a prime example of how lives were lost in order to preserve the secrecy of the Enigma code. Cracking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before World War II, Coventry was an important manufacturing and engineering city in England which supplied the British military with products and materials essential to Britain s war preparations. Once the Enigma code had been decrypted, the code breakers discovered information about one of the main Nazi attacks on Coventry, codenamed Operation Moonlight Sonata to the Nazis. News of this attack was revealed to Churchill through FW Winterbotham, a British Royal Air Force officer who supervised the distribution of ULTRA intelligence (Winston Churchill). ULTRA was the codename for any vital information obtained from the intercepted Nazi Enigma messages (History). Winterbotham delivered the intelligence to Churchill when Coventry s name was decrypted from Nazi messages on November 14, 1940 at 3:00 PM, the afternoon before the raid (Winston Churchill). The November 14th raid was the most vicious attack Coventry experienced during World War II. Nazi bombers released a deadly amount of dangerous explosives on Coventry. Of the 568 people killed, more than 400 were burned so badly that they were unidentifiable. More than 60 000 buildings were destroyed, including 27 war factories (History). Although Churchill knew in advance that the Nazis would attack Coventry, he deliberately withheld the information because warning the city of Coventry and its residents of the imminent threat would have alerted the Nazis that their codes had been cracked. Had the Nazis known that their codes had been unravelled, they would begin using a different form of coded messaging, thus rendering the progress of the code breakers useless. (Daily Mail Online). • 46. Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him. When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many of the health issues are caused by components very well known to us such as pollution, alcohol, drugs, sexually transmitted diseases, and so forth. Little was known about the fact that food, being an important necessity for human life, has started America s major epidemic among children and teens obesity. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This gives the students no choice but to eat a healthy school lunch; of course, the students would be able to buy as much candy as they would like before and after school or during any extracurricular activity. Another proposed deterrent is the complete no sale of soda and candy anytime within school property, otherwise known as a ban. School officials observe the banishment as a major solution to decrease the rate of obesity among students in America. Even though Federal law prohibits the sale of foods containing little nutritional value in competition with the school lunch program (Vail 1), many parents repeatedly argue about the fact that this act of limitation eliminates their students freedom of choice. Several high school students agree. As spokesman for the Center of Consumer Freedom, John Doyle says, They can eliminate everything they want, and it will not do one thing to curb obesity (Egan 3). On the other hand, various school districts have postponed acts of limitation on fattening foods and beverages due to other reasons. The number one reason is the fact that the schools would lose thousands of dollars a year in lost contracts with food companies. According to an industry study, schools across the country get about $750 million annually from contract deals with companies who are granted permission ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
