Federalism Vs. Cooperative Federalism
Right now the current form of Federalism that the United States uses today is called New Federalism,
or Cooperative Federalism. Cooperative Federalism was created as a political model around 1937 that
emphasized teamwork between the National and State governments. This was created to ensure that
both governments would work together in order to provide services more efficiently in the Nation.
This is why Cooperative Federalism is appealing to this day and still exercised, because the U.S. has
still retained those elements of regional supremacy, and States rights. The current form of Federalism
is well suited for handling policy issues in the United States because our current form of Federalism
(Cooperative Federalism) revolves around the idea that the National and State government are one
team.
So the question is, is Cooperative Federalism beneficial? And if so how? The best example to prove
that it is beneficial is the No Child Left Behind law that was discussed in class. This was passed by
congress in 2001 during President George Bush s presidency, and this law made it mandatory that all
States provide the appropriate education for their kids. Under Cooperative Federalism the National
government required all States to provide the best quality of education for the children. In this case
this form of Federalism was very effective because it allowed the Federal government to intervene
when States were not enforcing the idea as they should have been. So the Federal

Vedic And The Vedic Period
The Vedic period lasted from c. 1750 to 500 BCE. The Vedic texts were arranged when the Indo
Aryans started to inhabit the Ganges plain. With this new settlement, it transitioned to an agricultural
society, and in the need for organization the society created a hierarchical government. The society
had to include older habitants of the Ganges plain, and incorporated them under the Aryan varnas.
They also had to appoint political and religious authority to the Brahmins and Kshatriyas. The Vedas,
also called Śruti, center on the worship of the elements like fire and rivers, worship of heroic gods like
Indra, Varuna and Agni, chanting of hymns and performance of sacrifices. God Indra became the
central deity of the developing Old Indic culture. The philosophy of Vedanta transformed the Vedic
worldview to monistic one. This led to the development of tantric metaphysics and gave rise to new
forms of yoga, such as jnana yoga and bhankti yoga. People prayed for abundance of children, rain,
cattle (wealth), long life and an afterlife in the heavenly world of the ancestors. This mode of worship
has been preserved since then in Hinduism. However, the primacy of Vedic deities has been seconded
to the deities of Puranic literature. According to Muesse, some of the fundamental concepts like
karma, reincarnation and personal enlightenment and transformation did not exist in the Vedic
religion. Brahman is a very specific conception of the Absolute in Vedas. Brahman is neither

within our environment and the danger it can cause. FIVE Potential hazards in Nursing Home
Potential risk posed by the hazard Expose wire: Expose wire can cause patient s trip over and fall

if there is a knife carelessly lying about and one of the patient, who is mentally ill comes and pick it
up, not knowing that it is harmful and if misused it could seriously hurt them. Unclean environment:
This is a major hazard because if the environment in a nursing home is unclean this can lead to
spreading diseases, infections and causes the environment to start to smell and that could add up to the
patients illness. Nursery: In a nursery there are many hazards so staffs need to be extra careful on what
they leave hanging around especially when dealing with younger children. Also there are round the
clock service is provided. Loose wires: This is a very important hazard everywhere and if there are
loose wires hanging carelessly around at a nursery it is more likely that one half of the children in a
class would trip over it and get badly injured so if possible keep the wires out of reach . Toys left
carelessly on the floor: This is really important because if there are toys on lying on the floor
carelessly it is more likely that a child could trip over it or put it in their mouth and injury themselves
with it. Cleaning products: Cleaning product should be kept far away from a nursery area and should
be kept in an area that children cannot reach and locked up because if this hazard is seen by a child in
the nursery they could put it in their mouth thinking it

Texas State University Admission Essay Sample
People often say that when you do what you love, you never grow tired of it, and over the past four
years at Texas State University I have found that to be very true. When I first came in as a freshman, I

What Is The Relationship Between Gilgamesh And Enkidu
The Epic of Gilgamesh
The Epic of Gilgamesh is an Epic poem coined from the ancient Mesopotamia, and it is regarded as
one of the earliest surviving literary pieces. This poem is closely connected to history as it tries to
explain to the audience on the origin of the people of Mesopotamia. The relationship between
Gilgamesh and Enkidu as well as the ways the two view each other forms very central aspects in this
poem.
Enkidu is depicted as half man and half beast. Gilgamesh is regarded as the central symbol of the
natural and the uncivilized world. Gilgamesh dies early, and this is taken as a punishment from God
for all the trouble he and Gilgamesh got into together. The death of Enkidu hits Gilgamesh in a great
deal, and their connections

The Stereotypes Of Hope Leslie By Catharine Sedgwick And...
The encounters with Native Americans are a significant aspect of the literature of the Early
Americans. We can learn about both parties through the constant stereotypes against the Native
Americans by white people. These stereotypes impacted the culture of society for future generations
by making it look as though all Indians are bad people with bad intentions. For example, the attempt
to bring out the inner savagery of the Indian culture. There are many stereotypes for example, the
conversion of Indians to another culture and forcing them to recognize the white culture as the
dominant culture over their native one. They had small chances of being accepted by either society
that they were born into or apart of. Finally, the miscegenation between Native Americans and white
people, or the intermarriage between cultures. The two texts that I will be using to elaborate on this
topic are, Hope Leslie by Catharine Sedgwick and Edgar Huntly by Charles Brockden Brown. The
stereotypes of Native Americans in Early American literature have left an everlasting influence on the
American culture. The main theme in most of these stories try to bring out the inner savagery of the
Indian culture which is the most obvious stereotype seen in them. In Edgar Huntly, this is seen the
most in numerous occasions throughout the book. When Edgar, the main character was very young his
parents were killed by Indians and ever since then he had been afraid of them. Although this soon

High School Track Athlete HIIT Program Essay
With a track athlete they may be performing in various events throughout the day that require them to

movement of some type. Research has shown that incorporating explosive exercises will benefit the
athlete by yielding maximum or near maximum rates of force development.3 By Phases 3 and 4 of

cardiovascular and peripheral adaptations.1 As these various physiological parameters are being

they will be achieving neuromuscular overloads that will force adaptations to occur. By manipulating

Why I Chose Law School
Since I was 11 years old, I knew that I wanted to go to law school. When I finally started college, I
majored on Criminal Justice thinking that that was what I needed to study to prepare for law school,
but after many conversations with professors, advisors, including attorneys, I decided to change my
major to Liberal Arts instead. As a Spanish speaking individual, I realized that in order to reach my
goal of preparing for law school, I needed to improve my English. Since then, I have taken courses
that I believe has helped me to improve my English. Since I started college, I have been planning my
pathway to law school. This is why, when I was the Student Trustee in my second year of college, I

Chin The Largest Economy
At present, China is the largest economy in the world, overtaking the US in January 2015. It is also the
world s second largest oil consumer behind the US (Chen 2015) and the world s largest net importer of
crude oil (Dunn 2014). Its net importer status was driven by steady economic growth, with rapidly
rising Chinese petroleum demand outpacing production growth (EIA 2014). China is also the fourth
largest oil producing country in the world (Refer to Appendix ___).
The growth in the developing nation s economy over the past 3 decades was heavily dependent on its
low cost advantage compared to those of other countries. During this period of growth, foreign
companies flocked to China to set up production facilities and factories to capitalize on this cost
advantage. Raw materials are shipped to China, where factory workers build the final products and
export them out to various countries (Wassener 2014).
However, recently, china s economy has experienced a significant slowdown due to the shift in growth
of the nation to rely more on private enterprise and domestic consumption. This shift in economy
reduces its demand for industrial raw materials for manufacturing, which translates to a decrease in
demand of oil for use in production plants. A survey of China s industrial heartland identified
decreases in key areas of new orders, export orders and output prices (Letts 2015). Furthermore, being
the world s second largest consumer of oil, this move that China makes will have

Dr. Seuss Instruments
The synopsis of the process of the Dr. Seuss theme instrument. The design of our project was based
upon the instruments seen in the Dr. Seuss novels. The instrument is multi colored and similar to the
color scheme found on the cover of the book, Oh, the Places You ll Go. The shape and unique
structure are also attributed to many distinctive instruments found in Dr. Seuss stories. We decided to
have two mouthpieces available, so two people can play the instrument at the same time and the
overall structure characterizes the disproportionate instruments seen in the books. Going with the
theme, the sound created is also very interesting. When assembling the instrument, we had stuck wax
paper between the parts of the pipe, creating a kazoo like sound. We had chosen to use PVC pipes in
order to lock in the sound, leaving no air to escape, and funnels in order to amplify the sound being
given off. Before our final design, there had happened to be another idea we were going for. The
design had included a chamber that would contain soft air gun pellets or bb gun pellets that were
capped off by 3D printed discs, covering each end of the side chambers. These discs would have holes
that would allow air to enter the chamber, move the pellets around and create a rattle sound ... Show

The Importance Of Learning And Its Effects On Human Behavior
An individual will know things and will be able to perform different types of behaviours. Where these
behaviours come from however, depends on many things. Some things are innate therefore, one can be
born with the knowledge. Learning is a process that plays a part in determining behaviour. Learning
can thereby be defined as a comparatively permanent difference in behaviour and knowledge that
comes from experience or training. However, other forms of learning must be acquired actively. Thus,
any knowledge or behaviour that one may have without being born with, was somehow learned .
Various methods of learning have been examined through different methods such as from
experimenting on the salivation level of dogs, to examining how one ties their shoelace. Conditioning
on the other hand, although relatively similar to learning, is not the same as learning. It can be defined
as a behavioural process whereby a response will become more frequent and more predictable in any
given environment at any period of time as a result of reinforcement, while the reinforcement is
usually a stimulus that is a compensation for an aspired response. A form of mental and physical
behaviour that relates to learning is addiction. Addiction can be defined as an irresistible craving on a
behaviour or substance whereby one will either be able unable to stop the addiction, or continue to
crave it. Addictions usually increase in severity over time unless precautions or steps have been taken

The idea that men and women should play different roles in society is an ancient concept. It is the 21st
century. Men and women should have equal rights by now. An examination of primary and secondary

John Keats s Poem Analysis
Underlying Methods of Communication in Keats To Autumn In To Autumn, a poem by John Keats,
we see a multi leveled examination of mortality concealed within a seemingly simple ode to the fall
season. The poem opens with an overwhelming appeal to the senses. Anyone familiar with the
common motifs of Autumn will identify heavily with the first stanza, for Autumn is a time of ripening
pumpkins and relaxed musings. The second stanza has a tone reminiscent of the feeling that
accompanies the end of a hard day s work. However, as the second part of this poem ends, the reader
feels a dull pang of some unidentified negative emotion. This emotion is similar to the guilt of relaxed,
yet hardworking men who are too proud to be lazy, even for a moment. The ending stanza of the poem
arrives and passes like the end of Autumn, swiftly (Keats 763 764). The speaker in the poem seems to
be scrambling to appreciate the wonders of Autumn before the swift, bitter end. The progression of
ideas, imagery, and tone are highly reminiscent to the thoughts of a man who, at the end of his life, is
trying to find meaning and beauty in his life as he approaches his swift, bitter end. The poignancy of
this poem is found in the distinct levels by which Keats communicates emotions. In the progression of
Keats To Autumn, there are three basic levels of understanding: the outright evolution of ideas seen in
the initial reading, the contradictory tone changes, and the subtle paradoxes found

The Genetics For Mongol Migration
Maryann Steadman
ANTH 3125
2014, October 11th
Reflection Paper One
Genetics for Mongol Migration Mongolia is located in between Russia and China, and is a neighbor to
Kazakhstan. The people that live there are called Mongols. Mongolia, which is part of Asia, is part of
what composes Eurasia. When it comes to DNA and chromosomal lineage, there are many factors that
lead to how a person will look, who they will mate with, and what decisions they make in that process.
These categories all run under the term genetics. The second week s lecture said that there are three
major types of genetic data. There is autosomal, Y chromosome, and mitochondrial DNA. Autosomal
is a combination of your mother and father s DNA that makes you. Y chromosomes come from your
father and are given to a son, and mitochondrial DNA comes from your mother. Everyone has the
autosomal and mitochondrial aspects of genetics. The mitochondrial makeup is just what genes you
got from your mother. However, only males have the Y chromosome aspect of genetics since males
sex genes are comprised of XY while females are XX. Mongols (and their language of Mongolic)
originally came from the Altai Mountains, which are near Mongolia (week lecture two). In the second
week s lecture it is also noted that Mongolia may have been the original location for starting Y
chromosomal lineage. In Zerial s article, The Genetic Legacy of the Mongols, it talks about Mongols
being a star cluster for other people.

society would need, also known as social order theories. According to Reference.com, social order
theory is the way a society is organized which includes the rules and standards that are set in order to
maintain that organization . We can see one an example of a social order being put to practice in a
society through the social science fiction film The Giver. We can also see how this theory fits under
the collectivism and rational quadrant on the spectrum of order. And lastly, we see a greater
connection between the social order in the film and Marx s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First, Durkheim believes that society is already there rather than us creating it. In The Giver we see
how the elders go against the ideology since they are the ones who try to control and regulate their
society, in other words they are creating it. Second, Durkheim also believes the crime is a part of
society and plays a significant role since it forms solidarity amongst people in the society.etc. In the
film, we see that the elders do everything possible in order to prevent any crime from occurring.
Durkheim also is on the non rational spectrum where he is concerned about feelings instead of goal
orientation. In the film, the elders are unconcerned about feelings, and even take emotions away, in
order to maintain their social order which is their main goal. On the other hand, Marx believes that
there are two types of people in the world; the owners and the worker, whom are hostile towards each
other. In the beginning of the film, they mention how they took away certain divisions such as fame,
popularity, etc. so that people will not become envious. This shows that they understand the division
of groups can cause conflict which correlates with Marx

Alabama Geography
When people hear Alabama they probably think about football and the South, however, what many
people don t realize is that Alabama is made up of a vast array of geologic properties and has a lot to
offer Geologists. Rock formations date back from 2.5 billion years old to 1,800 years old and vary in
type from sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic (Tew. Ebersole, 2013). Alabama also consists of
piedmonts, fossils, fossil fuels, and waterways. If you travel from the Southwest corner of the state up
to the Northeast corner of the state you will come across many different rocks and landforms.
Alabama is composed of about two hundred various minerals and was ranked twentieth in the nation
for having valuable minerals (Lewis, 2012). Alabama consists ... Show more content on

Rocks in this region are from the Mesozoic and recent times and therefore are considered geologically
young compare to other regions in the state (Tew. Ebersole, 2013). The Piedmont Upland region in
East Central Alabama is composed of the oldest rocks in Alabama. In this region you will find granitic
gneiss (a gneissic rock with a general granitoid composition), amphibolite (a crystalloblastic rock
consisting mainly of amphibole and plagioclase with little or no quartz), and migmatite (a composite
of mixed rock) dating back to the Precambrian and Paleozoic ages (Schweitzer, 2013). This is the only
part of Alabama with this type of rock composition, but it is also where the southernmost part of the
Appalachian Mountains dips into Alabama. This part of the Appalachian Mountains are characterized
by low rolling hills and the reason there is a special combination of rocks in this area is because
piedmonts usually consist of the remnant of a mountain (Schweitzer, 2013). The Piedmont Upland
only consumes about nine percent of all of Alabama (Tew. Ebersole, 2013). The North and
Northeastern parts of Alabama are special because they consist of mostly the Appalachian

Interview Panel On The Middle School Basketball Coaches Essay
Activity Description and Summary For this activity I was responsible for being part of our interview
panel to hire our middle school basketball coaches. We hired four coaches to help mentor our fifth,
sixth, seventh, and eighth grade boys basketball teams. I was part of a three person interview panel
that featured our principal, athletic director, and me. This interview process was the first time I ve
been a part of hiring someone to feel a need at the school. The topic we interviewed is something I
was comfortable with because I have coached basketball the past six years. I felt like I could find us
the right fit and discussed the opportunity to be a part of the hiring process because of the need of this
internship activity. It s hard to find an interview process during the year for teachers, but I believe
coaching is a great substitute for teaching because it is an extension of the classroom. Learning how to
play a sport and how you conduct yourself on the court can help you later in life. I wanted to find a
candidate that could be a role model for the students and help teach them life lessons through the
game of basketball. We all agreed we are looking for someone who will stress that basketball doesn t
come above our education and our families. Our school has struggled with student achievement and I
think sports can help motivate students to do better in the classroom. The class that best aligns with
the hiring process is EL 5623. This class helped us learn

Pros And Cons Of College Parking
A True Nightmare in College: Parking
Waking up on time, finding your classroom, as well as showing, are just some of the stressful parts of
going to Cleveland State as a commuter, let alone finding a place to park. The necessity of finding a
parking spot on campus close to the correct buildings is a must if you plan on commuting. On top of
paying for tuition, students are asked to pay another fee to park on campus. One would think that if the
parking pass was bought, a spot would be automatically a given fact, but for some they are hard to
find. The question is should every student that buys a parking pass be granted a parking spot in the
designated area of their choice? I think that if you spend the money to park you should have a spot no
matter what time you come on campus.
As a student you are expected to show up to class on time in order to get the most out of the class
time. This can be hard for some students as well as professors because when they arrive on campus
there is no place for to park. They then spend the time they gave themselves for leeway, driving
around in search of a spot. This causes them to be late.
In an effort to reduce the confusion of parking Cleveland State sells parking passes. The passes vary in
price depending on where the student would like to park. The ... Show more content on

When the student buys the pass it gives them a sense of relief because they no longer have to worry
about parking, but it is sometimes not the case. It seems as though the university over sold the amount
of passes compared to the number of spots available. Although the student paid the top price to park
close to campus, they are made to park in lots that are on the other side of campus and the furthest
from their class building. Students should be guaranteed a spot in the garage of their choosing if they
paid to amount to be in that

The Impact Of Technology On The Music Industry Essay
Technology has brought many advantageous opportunities to the music industry in the area of
production and distribution. Besides popular and valuable instruments such as the electric guitar and
the synthesizer, technology has brought us new production equipment such as high fidelity
microphones, re mastering equipment and CD ROMs that provide us with a crystal clear sound of the
recording. The development of these equipment has allowed the audience to experience a higher
quality of sound coming from both live concerts and recordings.
Easiness of transportation that came along with the technological developments in the sector, has
allowed the record labels to distribute music all around the world. During the 1950s turbojet engines
were cleared for civilian use, and with new civil jet engine cargo aircraft distribution of almost any
item became easier and faster than ever before. The evolution of the computer and the Internet was
also a great distribution advantage for the music industry and should not be underestimated. New
sound formats, such as the MP3, have made music distribution easier. Companies could now provide
selling licenses to companies that would allow users to download certain songs from the Internet at a
very high speed. The music industry also got many opportunities for advertisements since they were
now not limited to billboards, TV and radio. Many companies can now promote their records by
playing a preview for the user, on certain websites.

T-Cell Epitopes
Although there is a number of therapeutic vaccines which successfully aids in inducing immune
responses particular to HCV, there is no complete vaccine that prevents HCV infection or lowers the
viral concentration. Hence, the research for HCV infection focuses on developing various vaccines for
HCV. The ideal HCV vaccine should extract and contain several features such as a high titer and long
lasting, and widespread anti envelope antibodies that can acknowledge and neutralize epitopes.
Additionally, it should be effective in generating robust, multispecific cellular immune response,
which contains both helper and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Lastly, the vaccine should be aimed at the

The majority of the individuals who are infected with the HCV virus are unaware of their condition
due to the low rate of HCV testing and the lack of information regarding their test results. In 2011, the
US Department of Health and Human services issued an, Action Plan for the Prevention, Care and
Treatment of Viral Hepatitis, which stated some factors that halt the prevention of the infection. One
of the factors is the low level of awareness by the general public. Knowledge about HCV is commonly
limited to the general public. In a consumer marketing survey including 4071 participants conducted
in 2010 by the HealthStyles, 41% of respondents disagreed with the statement which asked if they
were knowledgeable about viral hepatitis. Many participants noted that they assumed they had been
tested for HCV when a blood test was run during their regular physical examination. In 2012,
campaigns such as, Know More Hepatitis, launched by the CDC, helped raise awareness of the virus

Comparing and Contrasting Prokaryotic, Archaean, and Eukaryotic Cells For the longest time, the
only known two domains in the taxonomical hierarchy were referred to as Prokaryotes and
Eukaryotes. In recent times, scientists have discovered and added a third domain of life, known as,
Archaea. These three taxons exist together to make up the microbial world that we live in. All three
domains can be found freely all over the earth. Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes are usually more common,
with Archaea being extremely rare. Although coming from three entirely different domains, all three
possess similar characteristics, but also have some unique features. Prokaryotes are single celled
organisms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory of Endosymbiosis originated in the early 1900s by the Russian botanist, Konstantin
Mereschkowski.1 The Endosymbiont theory states that organelles of eukaryotic cells came from
prokaryotic cells that had been swallowed by them and survived by developing a symbiotic
relationship, two different entities working together to benefit each other, by living inside the larger
cell. Scientists have conducted extensive research and believe that mitochondria, chloroplasts, flagella,
and microtubules have all originated from prokaryotes derived from the theory of Endosymbiosis.
Many examples of endosymbiotes can be seen all throughout the world. The most common can be

Comparing Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet
First of all, where does carnivalesque come from? This concept was coined by Mikhail Bakhtin who
said it embodied life taking from of a typical carnival. The way things are obscured, or not how they
typically would be, essentially life turned inside out is the idea of carnivalism. Without carnival, life
remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what is natural life
(Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnival elements to represent
Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the inebriation of
festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words indicate, hide
identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque
307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and Juliet, calling into
question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through their meeting.
Carnivalism is effective for Romeo and Juliet because it allows for further analysis to take place of
meaning and emotion in situations, [provoking] an active response, leading us to make certain
connections perhaps hitherto unexplored... creating a highly energetic, primarily ... Show more content

What this means is that individuals are changed from what is typical of them as is expected by society
(Hennelly, 103) which happens repeatedly at the party scene in the film. Juliet s angel appearance at
the party shows contrast to her daily life, where she is unable to enjoy any such freedom... Similarly,
Romeo, who up to this point shows himself as a sort of delinquent by taking drugs, as well as taking
part in the jokes and behaviors associated with the Montagues, is given the opportunity to take on an
ideal role as a courtly knight (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque

The global economy has moved on from the Asian Tigers; the present and the future of the global
economy now lie elsewhere. To what extent do you agree with this statement? (40 marks) The Asian
Tigers, consisting of Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan, were the second group of
countries to develop after World War II, with the first being Japan. The Asian Tigers were able to
develop due to a combination of comparative advantages, including partially existing developed levels
of infrastructure, good geographical locations with open access to the sea allowing easy exportation,
cheap labour and strong government support. The Asian Tigers were most noted for their rise to power
in the 1960 1980s, and were able to develop their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These examples show that the focus of the global economy can shift quickly depending on resources,
and that countries wholly dependent on one aspect, in this case exports, are unlikely to remain as an
important part of the global economy ones its resources have run out/are not needed. Along with the
importance and power of the country itself, people must also consider the power and importance of
transnational corporations created in the Asian Tigers, especially the South Korean Chaebols
(Daewoo, LG, Hyundai and Samsung). These TNCs still play a large part in the global economy, with
these brand names being known around the developed and developing world. It is unlikely that any
TNCs from currently developing economies will be able to rival these existing TNCs because of set
up costs and levels of technology needed to produce products which are on par with existing ones.
Equally, the existing TNCs have the advantages of brand loyalty and economies of scale which newly
formed companies will not yet have. In this respect, certain features of the Asian Tigers are heavily
linked to, and will continue to play a large part in the future of the global economy. As well as the
TNCs, each Asian Tiger is able to specialise in certain products and services. South

Explain. If I were to design a statistical sample, I would design a random sample in order to estimate a
demand curve. A random sample is choosing any of the population for survey, which might tell me
what a random person expects to see in a product. Other scenarios might dictate the better approach,
an example is if you wanted to find out what would be the most popular beard dye than you might
consider using a target sample to target the male population.

Acceptance In Harrison Bergeron
Harrison Bergeron: A Look Into Acceptance
The short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is about acceptance. It reveals that people,
such as Harrison Bergeron, won t just simply accept things as they are and they will stand up for
themselves and others. Harrison was a symbol of the fact that people don t have to sit back and accept
injustice. Many of the citizens became accustomed to the injustice and were accepting of it because
that was just how things were. Harrison was one of the people who wouldn t accept the injustices of
the government and the dystopian society.
It all starts with Harrison Bergeron, George s son, being taken away from his family in April by the
government as a teenager to be handicapped due to his advanced

Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation ( Coh )
Introduction Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is known to be an important component in
the success of in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF ET). In COH procedure, in order to suppress
and prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, GnRH agonists and antagonists are often
applied. During the assisted reproduction technologies (ARTs), controlled ovarian hyperstimulation
(COH) is often applied to stimulate multiple follicular development followed by ovulation induction
with an ovulatory trigger before oocyte collection and fertilization. It is increasingly appreciated that
such exogenous hormonal stimulation for ARTs results in the environment of supra physiological level
of steroid hormone and may be detrimental to endometrial receptivity. Although no significant
differences in oocyte quality or embryo quality were found between patients treated with GnRH
agonist or GnRH antagonist, the data regarding the impact of these protocols on endometrial
receptivity are still controversial. Impaired endometrial receptivity has been recognizied as the main
problem to success in ART once all other factors have been optimized. Several studies have been done
to directly assess endometrial receptivity, including histologic dating, endometrial sex steroid receptor
concentrations, scanning electron microscopy assessing pinopod expression, and more recently, the
role of cytokines, growth factors, integrin molecules, genomic, proteomic and lipidomic targets have

Good Morning Midnight By Jean Rhys
Jean Rhys, the author of Good Morning Midnight, wrote about women with sense and sensitivity in
mostly controversial ways. Rhys was born in Dominica in eighteen ninety four. She came to England
at the age of sixteen and hovered on many jobs before she moved to Paris, where she began writing
and was found by Ford Maddox Ford.
About the essay question and theme, of the representation of women in the city, I believe Rhys
exposes the restrictive attitudes places upon women in the town rather than perpetuating them. Her
novels, often showed women as underdogs out to exploit their sexualities, which shows they were
ahead of their time. Once Good Morning Midnight was written she lived reclusively and was largely
forgotten.
In Good Morning Midnight Sasha s story moves back and forth, her outlook shifting from her time in
London to Paris. She remembers when she was married, to the time she was alone. Her life in Paris
moves between a range of cafes and bars, places where she was known. And some she wants to stay
away from, and areas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the woman at the bar gives me one of those looks: what do you want her, you? We don t
cater for tourists here, not our clientele . This sort of attitude is linked to stereotypes and prejudice.
The barkeeps know nothing of Jensen personally by they automatically calculate the person she is
from the way she appears. This could suggest that Rhys acknowledges that it is not just men who treat
women unequally, but it is also women who degrade one another in the novel too. It also is a sudden
example of female on female hostility. Sternlicht sees that women in her earlier novels are always
hostile, and the protagonist is hostile in return or they repress anger or flee in tears . (Sternlicht, 98).
and throughout the novel in her sour encounters with other women, the reader see s Jansen s
prosperity in all three

  • 2. Federalism Vs. Cooperative Federalism Right now the current form of Federalism that the United States uses today is called New Federalism, or Cooperative Federalism. Cooperative Federalism was created as a political model around 1937 that emphasized teamwork between the National and State governments. This was created to ensure that both governments would work together in order to provide services more efficiently in the Nation. This is why Cooperative Federalism is appealing to this day and still exercised, because the U.S. has still retained those elements of regional supremacy, and States rights. The current form of Federalism is well suited for handling policy issues in the United States because our current form of Federalism (Cooperative Federalism) revolves around the idea that the National and State government are one team. So the question is, is Cooperative Federalism beneficial? And if so how? The best example to prove that it is beneficial is the No Child Left Behind law that was discussed in class. This was passed by congress in 2001 during President George Bush s presidency, and this law made it mandatory that all States provide the appropriate education for their kids. Under Cooperative Federalism the National government required all States to provide the best quality of education for the children. In this case this form of Federalism was very effective because it allowed the Federal government to intervene when States were not enforcing the idea as they should have been. So the Federal ... • 3. Vedic And The Vedic Period The Vedic period lasted from c. 1750 to 500 BCE. The Vedic texts were arranged when the Indo Aryans started to inhabit the Ganges plain. With this new settlement, it transitioned to an agricultural society, and in the need for organization the society created a hierarchical government. The society had to include older habitants of the Ganges plain, and incorporated them under the Aryan varnas. They also had to appoint political and religious authority to the Brahmins and Kshatriyas. The Vedas, also called Śruti, center on the worship of the elements like fire and rivers, worship of heroic gods like Indra, Varuna and Agni, chanting of hymns and performance of sacrifices. God Indra became the central deity of the developing Old Indic culture. The philosophy of Vedanta transformed the Vedic worldview to monistic one. This led to the development of tantric metaphysics and gave rise to new forms of yoga, such as jnana yoga and bhankti yoga. People prayed for abundance of children, rain, cattle (wealth), long life and an afterlife in the heavenly world of the ancestors. This mode of worship has been preserved since then in Hinduism. However, the primacy of Vedic deities has been seconded to the deities of Puranic literature. According to Muesse, some of the fundamental concepts like karma, reincarnation and personal enlightenment and transformation did not exist in the Vedic religion. Brahman is a very specific conception of the Absolute in Vedas. Brahman is neither ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Texas State University Admission Essay Sample People often say that when you do what you love, you never grow tired of it, and over the past four years at Texas State University I have found that to be very true. When I first came in as a freshman, I had no idea I would be ever applying for Graduate School. But as I went through the coursework and fell in love more and more with the topics that each class discussed, I finally decided that I wanted to apply and continue my education in the International Studies Program at Texas State. What Is The Relationship Between Gilgamesh And Enkidu The Epic of Gilgamesh The Epic of Gilgamesh is an Epic poem coined from the ancient Mesopotamia, and it is regarded as one of the earliest surviving literary pieces. This poem is closely connected to history as it tries to explain to the audience on the origin of the people of Mesopotamia. The relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu as well as the ways the two view each other forms very central aspects in this poem. Enkidu is depicted as half man and half beast. Gilgamesh is regarded as the central symbol of the natural and the uncivilized world. Gilgamesh dies early, and this is taken as a punishment from God for all the trouble he and Gilgamesh got into together. The death of Enkidu hits Gilgamesh in a great deal, and their connections ... • 7. The Stereotypes Of Hope Leslie By Catharine Sedgwick And... The encounters with Native Americans are a significant aspect of the literature of the Early Americans. We can learn about both parties through the constant stereotypes against the Native Americans by white people. These stereotypes impacted the culture of society for future generations by making it look as though all Indians are bad people with bad intentions. For example, the attempt to bring out the inner savagery of the Indian culture. There are many stereotypes for example, the conversion of Indians to another culture and forcing them to recognize the white culture as the dominant culture over their native one. They had small chances of being accepted by either society that they were born into or apart of. Finally, the miscegenation between Native Americans and white people, or the intermarriage between cultures. The two texts that I will be using to elaborate on this topic are, Hope Leslie by Catharine Sedgwick and Edgar Huntly by Charles Brockden Brown. The stereotypes of Native Americans in Early American literature have left an everlasting influence on the American culture. The main theme in most of these stories try to bring out the inner savagery of the Indian culture which is the most obvious stereotype seen in them. In Edgar Huntly, this is seen the most in numerous occasions throughout the book. When Edgar, the main character was very young his parents were killed by Indians and ever since then he had been afraid of them. Although this soon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research has shown that incorporating explosive exercises will benefit the athlete by yielding maximum or near maximum rates of force development.3 By Phases 3 and 4 of this session the athlete, if truly putting forth the effort required, will be gaining greater maximal cardiovascular and peripheral adaptations.1 As these various physiological parameters are being pushed the athlete will begin to see quicker adaptations and stronger correlations with their performance.3 By creating the musculoskeletal strains, and pushing their cardiovascular workload, they will be achieving neuromuscular overloads that will force adaptations to occur. When I finally started college, I majored on Criminal Justice thinking that that was what I needed to study to prepare for law school, but after many conversations with professors, advisors, including attorneys, I decided to change my major to Liberal Arts instead. Since then, I have taken courses that I believe has helped me to improve my English. Since I started college, I have been planning my pathway to law school. • 11. Chin The Largest Economy At present, China is the largest economy in the world, overtaking the US in January 2015. It is also the world s second largest oil consumer behind the US (Chen 2015) and the world s largest net importer of crude oil (Dunn 2014). Its net importer status was driven by steady economic growth, with rapidly rising Chinese petroleum demand outpacing production growth (EIA 2014). China is also the fourth largest oil producing country in the world (Refer to Appendix ___). The growth in the developing nation s economy over the past 3 decades was heavily dependent on its low cost advantage compared to those of other countries. During this period of growth, foreign companies flocked to China to set up production facilities and factories to capitalize on this cost advantage. Raw materials are shipped to China, where factory workers build the final products and export them out to various countries (Wassener 2014). However, recently, china s economy has experienced a significant slowdown due to the shift in growth of the nation to rely more on private enterprise and domestic consumption. This shift in economy reduces its demand for industrial raw materials for manufacturing, which translates to a decrease in demand of oil for use in production plants. A survey of China s industrial heartland identified decreases in key areas of new orders, export orders and output prices (Letts 2015). • 13. Dr. Seuss Instruments The synopsis of the process of the Dr. Seuss theme instrument. The design of our project was based upon the instruments seen in the Dr. Seuss novels. The instrument is multi colored and similar to the color scheme found on the cover of the book, Oh, the Places You ll Go. The shape and unique structure are also attributed to many distinctive instruments found in Dr. Seuss stories. We decided to have two mouthpieces available, so two people can play the instrument at the same time and the overall structure characterizes the disproportionate instruments seen in the books. Going with the theme, the sound created is also very interesting. When assembling the instrument, we had stuck wax paper between the parts of the pipe, creating a kazoo like sound. We had chosen to use PVC pipes in order to lock in the sound, leaving no air to escape, and funnels in order to amplify the sound being given off. Before our final design, there had happened to be another idea we were going for. The design had included a chamber that would contain soft air gun pellets or bb gun pellets that were capped off by 3D printed discs, covering each end of the side chambers. These discs would have holes that would allow air to enter the chamber, move the pellets around and create a rattle sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 14. The Importance Of Learning And Its Effects On Human Behavior An individual will know things and will be able to perform different types of behaviours. Where these behaviours come from however, depends on many things. Some things are innate therefore, one can be born with the knowledge. Learning is a process that plays a part in determining behaviour. Learning can thereby be defined as a comparatively permanent difference in behaviour and knowledge that comes from experience or training. However, other forms of learning must be acquired actively. Thus, any knowledge or behaviour that one may have without being born with, was somehow learned . Various methods of learning have been examined through different methods such as from experimenting on the salivation level of dogs, to examining how one ties their shoelace. Conditioning on the other hand, although relatively similar to learning, is not the same as learning. It can be defined as a behavioural process whereby a response will become more frequent and more predictable in any given environment at any period of time as a result of reinforcement, while the reinforcement is usually a stimulus that is a compensation for an aspired response. A form of mental and physical behaviour that relates to learning is addiction. • 19. John Keats s Poem Analysis Underlying Methods of Communication in Keats To Autumn In To Autumn, a poem by John Keats, we see a multi leveled examination of mortality concealed within a seemingly simple ode to the fall season. The poem opens with an overwhelming appeal to the senses. Anyone familiar with the common motifs of Autumn will identify heavily with the first stanza, for Autumn is a time of ripening pumpkins and relaxed musings. The second stanza has a tone reminiscent of the feeling that accompanies the end of a hard day s work. However, as the second part of this poem ends, the reader feels a dull pang of some unidentified negative emotion. This emotion is similar to the guilt of relaxed, yet hardworking men who are too proud to be lazy, even for a moment. The ending stanza of the poem arrives and passes like the end of Autumn, swiftly (Keats 763 764). The speaker in the poem seems to be scrambling to appreciate the wonders of Autumn before the swift, bitter end. The progression of ideas, imagery, and tone are highly reminiscent to the thoughts of a man who, at the end of his life, is trying to find meaning and beauty in his life as he approaches his swift, bitter end. The poignancy of this poem is found in the distinct levels by which Keats communicates emotions. In the progression of Keats To Autumn, there are three basic levels of understanding: the outright evolution of ideas seen in the initial reading, the contradictory tone changes, and the subtle paradoxes found ... The Genetics For Mongol Migration Maryann Steadman ANTH 3125 2014, October 11th Reflection Paper One Genetics for Mongol Migration Mongolia is located in between Russia and China, and is a neighbor to Kazakhstan. The people that live there are called Mongols. Mongolia, which is part of Asia, is part of what composes Eurasia. When it comes to DNA and chromosomal lineage, there are many factors that lead to how a person will look, who they will mate with, and what decisions they make in that process. These categories all run under the term genetics. The second week s lecture said that there are three major types of genetic data. There is autosomal, Y chromosome, and mitochondrial DNA. Autosomal is a combination of your mother and father s DNA that makes you. Y chromosomes come from your father and are given to a son, and mitochondrial DNA comes from your mother. Everyone has the autosomal and mitochondrial aspects of genetics. The mitochondrial makeup is just what genes you got from your mother. However, only males have the Y chromosome aspect of genetics since males sex genes are comprised of XY while females are XX. Mongols (and their language of Mongolic) originally came from the Altai Mountains, which are near Mongolia (week lecture two). In the second week s lecture it is also noted that Mongolia may have been the original location for starting Y chromosomal lineage. • 30. Comparing Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet First of all, where does carnivalesque come from? This concept was coined by Mikhail Bakhtin who said it embodied life taking from of a typical carnival. The way things are obscured, or not how they typically would be, essentially life turned inside out is the idea of carnivalism. Without carnival, life remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what is natural life (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnival elements to represent Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the inebriation of festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words indicate, hide identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and Juliet, calling into question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through their meeting. It is important for a company to try and forecast the Business Cycle to indicate practices beneficial and not beneficial to the organization with the goal of an upward trend line and minimal increase and decrease to GDP for steady growth in the Business Cycle. b. In general, are short term forecasts more or less accurate than long term forecasts? Explain. Short Term forecasts overall is less accurate than long term forecasts. Data collected over a sufficient period create a clearer analysis of three of four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Market experiments are based on smaller scales. 2. Market experiments are based on short term controlled conditions. 3. Market experiments price changes can result in loss of customers ( D.N. Dwivedi). c. If you were to design a statistical sample in order to estimate a demand curve, would you conduct a random sample of the general population, a targeted sample, or a randomized targeted sample? Explain. If I were to design a statistical sample, I would design a random sample in order to estimate a demand curve. A random sample is choosing any of the population for survey, which might tell me what a random person expects to see in a product. Other scenarios might dictate the better approach, an example is if you wanted to find out what would be the most popular beard dye than you might consider using a target sample to target the male population. d. Assume your staff presents you with 2 different regressions of a demand curve for your most important product. One of the regressions has an R squared of 0.86 and the other has an R squared of 0.61. Assume that both regressions have a t value for the coefficient of 1.8. Which would you choose to work with and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Acceptance In Harrison Bergeron Harrison Bergeron: A Look Into Acceptance The short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is about acceptance. It reveals that people, such as Harrison Bergeron, won t just simply accept things as they are and they will stand up for themselves and others. Harrison was a symbol of the fact that people don t have to sit back and accept injustice. Many of the citizens became accustomed to the injustice and were accepting of it because that was just how things were. Harrison was one of the people who wouldn t accept the injustices of the government and the dystopian society. It all starts with Harrison Bergeron, George s son, being taken away from his family in April by the government as a teenager to be handicapped due to his advanced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation ( Coh ) Introduction Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is known to be an important component in the success of in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF ET). In COH procedure, in order to suppress and prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, GnRH agonists and antagonists are often applied. During the assisted reproduction technologies (ARTs), controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is often applied to stimulate multiple follicular development followed by ovulation induction with an ovulatory trigger before oocyte collection and fertilization. It is increasingly appreciated that such exogenous hormonal stimulation for ARTs results in the environment of supra physiological level of steroid hormone and may be detrimental to endometrial receptivity. Although no significant differences in oocyte quality or embryo quality were found between patients treated with GnRH agonist or GnRH antagonist, the data regarding the impact of these protocols on endometrial receptivity are still controversial. Impaired endometrial receptivity has been recognizied as the main problem to success in ART once all other factors have been optimized. Several studies have been done to directly assess endometrial receptivity, including histologic dating, endometrial sex steroid receptor concentrations, scanning electron microscopy assessing pinopod expression, and more recently, the role of cytokines, growth factors, integrin molecules, genomic, proteomic and lipidomic targets have been ... • 36. Good Morning Midnight By Jean Rhys Jean Rhys, the author of Good Morning Midnight, wrote about women with sense and sensitivity in mostly controversial ways. Rhys was born in Dominica in eighteen ninety four. She came to England at the age of sixteen and hovered on many jobs before she moved to Paris, where she began writing and was found by Ford Maddox Ford. About the essay question and theme, of the representation of women in the city, I believe Rhys exposes the restrictive attitudes places upon women in the town rather than perpetuating them. Her novels, often showed women as underdogs out to exploit their sexualities, which shows they were ahead of their time. Once Good Morning Midnight was written she lived reclusively and was largely forgotten. In Good Morning Midnight Sasha s story moves back and forth, her outlook shifting from her time in London to Paris. She remembers when she was married, to the time she was alone. Her life in Paris moves between a range of cafes and bars, places where she was known. And some she wants to stay away from, and areas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the woman at the bar gives me one of those looks: what do you want her, you? We don t cater for tourists here, not our clientele . This sort of attitude is linked to stereotypes and prejudice. The barkeeps know nothing of Jensen personally by they automatically calculate the person she is from the way she appears. This could suggest that Rhys acknowledges that it is not just men who treat women unequally, but it is also women who degrade one another in the novel too. It also is a sudden example of female on female hostility. Sternlicht sees that women in her earlier novels are always hostile, and the protagonist is hostile in return or they repress anger or flee in tears . (Sternlicht, 98). and throughout the novel in her sour encounters with other women, the reader see s Jansen s prosperity in all three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
