Pope Juliusi Patronage Research Paper
Patronage is often known as the support that is given to an artist by the patron. A patron is someone
who provides support to artists. They become loyal customers to the artist and help them be put out on
the map. They often finance a starving artist.
One critical patron to art in Renaissance Italy was Pope Julius II. In this period the church was often,
the leading patrons of art and Pope Julius II helped keep the church one of the main patronages of this
time. He commissioned many artists who created famous art pieces in Rome and in despite that many
different families in Italy were rivaling the church. Julius II did whatever he could delay the plans of
Lorenzo de Medici, the most powerful patron in Italy at the time. He had taken Michelangelo and
commanded him to work in Rome. Thus delaying Michelangelo s work with Medici, as Michelangelo
felt unable to decline the pope s request. Julius II commission Michelangelo to create frescoes for the

Peter s Basilica, which was in bad shape when he took over the Papal office. He hired Donato
Bramante, and together they were able to modernize and expand the church. Raphael also came to
work for the pope due to his friendship with Bramante. He commissioned Raphael to paint the Stanza
Della Segnatura and was honored in highly for creating the Vatican Library so well. Many people
believe that Pope Julius II commissions allowed him to become a very influential patron. However,
his motives behind being a patron are highly criticized as many believe that he did it only to advance
his well being and legacy. He was known for being quite egotistical and wanted to be remembered as
one of the great popes. His commissions allowed for the creation of many important art pieces that are

Optimism as a Theme for Candide Essay
Optimism as a Theme for Candide
Just as on the title, Candide, or Optimism, Optimism is also used as a major theme. Voltaire s satire of
philosophical optimism is one of the major issues of Candide. Throughout the story, satirical
references to the best of all possible worlds contrast with natural catastrophes and human wrongdoing.
According to Wikipedia, optimism, the opposite of pessimism, is a lifeview where the world is looked
upon the as a positive place. Optimists generally believe that people are inherently good. These people
are said to have a positive outlook on life, believing that given time, things will work out in the end.
Also according to Wikipedia, In philosophy, optimism is linked with the name of Gottfried ... Show

Private misfortunes make for public welfare, Pangloss concludes. This is true in a optimistic society
According to SparkNotes.com:
Pangloss and his student Candide maintain that everything is for the best in this best of all possible
worlds. This idea is a reductively simplified version of the philosophies of a number of Enlightenment
thinkers, most notably Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz. To these thinkers, the existence of any evil in
the world would have to be a sign that God is either not entirely good or not all powerful, and the idea
of an imperfect God is nonsensical. These philosophers took for granted that God exists, and
concluded that since God must be perfect, the world he created must be perfect also. According to
these philosophers, people perceive imperfections in the world only because they do not understand
God s grand plan. Because Voltaire does not accept that a perfect God (or any God) has to exist, he
can afford to mock the idea that the world must be completely good, and he heaps merciless satire on
this idea throughout the novel. The optimists, Pangloss and Candide, suffer and witness a wide variety
of horrors—floggings, rapes, robberies, unjust executions, disease, an earthquake, betrayals, and
crushing ennui. These horrors do not serve any apparent greater good, but point only to the cruelty and
folly of humanity and the indifference of the natural world. Pangloss struggles to find justification for
the terrible things in the world, but his

Disadvantages Of Rohingya
Rohingya s are a Muslim ethnic minority group that has lived as an inhabitance in Mayanmar for
centuries, Today more than a million of them lives in the country, most in the western coastal state of
Rakhine . Where they make up around a third of the population .They speak their own language which
is not recognized by the state. It is one of the poorest states in the country with ghetto like camps and a
lack of basic service and opportunities due to ongoing violence persecution, hundreds and thousands
of Rohingya have fled to neighbouring Countries either land or boat over the course of many decades.
Muslim have lived in the area now known as Myanmar since as early as the 12th century, according to
many historians and Rohingya groups. The Arakan Rohingya national organization has said Rohingya
have been living in Arakan from time immemorial referring to the area known as Rakhine. After
independence the government viewed the migration that look place during British rule as illegal , and
it is on this basis that they refuse citizenship to the majority of Rohingya. This has led many Buddhists
to consider the Rohingya to be Bengali, rejecting the term Rohingya as a recent invention, created for
Political reasons. In 2010, when the military leaders released pro democracy leader of Mayanmar
Ayng San Suu Kyi from house arrest, Most of the political leaders thought Burma was beginning to
change for the better. When they demanded citizenship they also asked for the state that had been
promised to them. Ultimately the army crushed the resistance movement. Hundreds and thousands of
desperate Rohingya people are fleeing a vicious military purage in Myanmar. Troops have burned
scores of villages, beheading men raping women, and even killing children. In some place, Buddhist
militias and people have joined in the attacks against the Muslim majority Rohingya. The Myanmar
army and government call their assault a counterterrorist operation, but the U,N, has labeled it a text
book example of ethnic cleansing. The government of Myanmar officially recognizes 135 ethnic
group. This sounds like, to use a technical term a lot. It would thus seem that they tried to be pretty

Modern Art And African Art
There is a clear connection between modern art and African art. African symbols, shapes, and
ideologies influence paintings, textiles, and sculptures. However, not many discuss comics within the
traditional definition of art. The medium of comics boomed after the Great Depression with
Superman. A time of hardship, the Depression left people needing something to believe in. Since the
beginning of time people have used storytelling and mythology to explain the world around them.
After the Depression with the birth of Superman, superheros were no different. Superheros are modern
mythologies, a phrase coined by Richard Reynolds. In his book, Super Heroes: A Modern
Mythologies, he refers to Roland Barters essay Myth Today, which points out that mythology
represents culture as nature to explain the political and social anatomy of societies. Superheroes
contribute to this concept by using science and magic to create a sense of mythical wonder. Reynolds
uses the example of Thor, who is a god trapped on earth in the body of a scientist with a walking stick
as punishment from his father Odin. Throughout the comic book universe there are heroes that not
only draw from Norse mythology, but Native American, Hindu, and Greco Roman mythology as well.
One has to wonder if there is a connection between superheroes and African mythology. The Yoruban
orishas of Nigeria, which parallel the mythologies listed previously contains different deities each
representing an aspect of nature can be

Yuma Irrigation Project
There were many ways Yuma Arizona was changed by irrigation, without irrigation we wouldn t be
able to grow crops, and sustain human life on earth. Back then Yuma was a small town, and was
known as the wild west, but the era started ending when the U.S Reclamation service allowed Yuma to
work on an irrigation project which was called the Yuma Project. The plan was to irrigate land
throughout the towns of Yuma County,Somerton, and California. The water would come from the All
American canal which then takes it to the Yuma main canal, then delivers it to the colorado river
which then flows to different cities ,and irrigates land. Soon the project started changing Yuma in

The only way Yuma s land could be irrigated was to start a project called the Yuma project which was
A U.S Bureau of Reclamation project built to irrigate acres. This included the construction of the
Wellton Mohawk District. The Wellton Mohawk District has 115,000 acres of land, 75,000 acres are
irrigable and 40,000 are non irrigable. Only 71,000 acres of irrigable and 17,000 non irrigable acres
lands are privately owned. 23 years after the completion of the irrigation distribution system, 68,000
acres have been able to be irrigated. When the Colorado river water was first applied to the lands in
the Wellton Mohawk district, reclamation of irrigable lands were resulted in high crop yields and high
annual agricultural incomes. The income of crops produced from the project is about 37 million
dollars, more than one half of 66 million invested in the project by the U.S. The Yuma desalting plant
was another expensive project that the government built its price was about 400 million dollars. The
desalting plant is not an actual plant but a factory where salty water would be cleaned, and would be
delivered to Mexico. The Hoover dam was a gigantic wall made of concrete that was constructed in
1931, it s purpose was to reserve the water, control floods, and used for irrigation. The price of the

Oedipus By William Shakespeare s Oedipus
1. (Question 1) The situation in Thebes is that they have a plague. Oedipus wants to discover the
murderer of Laius in order to end the suffering of his people.
2. (Question 2) Oedipus is a man of action, but he is also a man of temper. Oedipus bullies Tiresias
into answering him. It is at this point that Tiresias reveals that Oedipus has killed the previous king,
Laius. A pattern emerges regarding Oedipus behavior. He has a temper, but is also used to having his
way. At one point Oedipus becomes extremely angry and accuses Tiresias of acting in collusion with
his brother in law, Creon, to take the throne from Oedipus.
3. (Question 3) Oedipus doesn t accept the story because he has already accused Tiresias of being
personally disloyal, stubborn, unpatriotic, and disrespectful to Thebes and that he is partly responsible
for the death of Laius. Tiresias has several times accused Oedipus of having an uncontrollable temper.
This temper may help explain why Oedipus rejects Tiresias s revelations about Oedipus himself.
4. (Question 6) Oedipus begins to think that he is the murderer when he learns the location of the
crime scene. Tiresias tells Oedipus that he is the murderer, the cause of all the suffering in Thebes.
Tiresias half explains that Oedipus has done more evil than he can even imagine. Jocasta then tells
him a story to show that the gods will reveal what prophets and seers sometimes do not. She believes

The reason for the popularity of outsourcing is that it allows many companies to reduce the overall
service costs, particularly the labour costs, be close some of their customers together with the
combination of environmental pressure, efficiency and competitive pressure (Tate et al. 2009;
Frattochi et al 2014; Hutzel and Lippert 2014). As a consequence, when these advantages are no more
exist, many manufacturing firms in developed countries have started to shift their business strategies
from offshoring and outsourcing and reshoring. 2.1.3. Reshoring Reshoring is can be simply
understood a location decision to bring manufacturing back home from a current location into the
country of origin (Gray et al. 2013). In another way, Cottrill (2013) describes reshoring as a
manufacturing location decision that is a change in policy from a previous decision to locate
manufacturing offshore from the firm s home location. Reshoring includes both in sourced production
and outsourced activities (IECD 2015). It can range from the tiny to the enormous firms and can be
applied to industries besides manufacturing and varies in terms of scale (Tazmin Booth). As Van den
Bosseche et al (2014) argues, a number of macroeconomic factors have tipped the balance of
reshoring in its favour such as the appreciation of China s currency versus western countries, the
wages in China, low energy costs

The Problem Of The European Debt Crisis
Introduction
The European debt crisis is a culmination of many factors and long gone are the days of economies
not being tied to each other. With modern globalization, major financial crisis s can lead to worldwide
turmoil and economic downturn. What happens in other markets, will not only affect their market, but
markets all over the world. Because of this, the European debt crisis is not just Europe s problem, but
rather everybody s problem. The rout causes of the European Debt Crisis are known. However,
restoring the economies that were hardest hit is no easy task. Economist all over the world have ideas
and plans that they think will work. Only time will tell what works, and the longer it takes, the harder
it is on the citizens of the countries affected most.
Description
As mentioned earlier, globalization has led to all markets being tied together. With the United States
being one of the biggest economies in the world, and the financial crisis it was going through in 2009,
it started a ripple effect throughout Europe. With Americans defaulting on their mortgages, banks in
Europe who had invested in the United States housing by buying bonds, were now losing money. The
effect that this had on European countries was devastating. The money that they borrowed, they lost
and when it came time to pay back, they simply couldn t. The ripple effect that started in the United
States, was now starting to destroy the economy in European countries starting the very beginning of

Exegetical Paper On I Corinthians 7
In I Corinthians 7, Paul declares that abandonment by an unbelieving spouse constitutes grounds for a
valid divorce. Paul clearly identifies this as an expansion of what Jesus has said (Matt. 5:31 32, 19:3
9) for he says, I say, not the Lord. As such, we can conclude that Paul considered his expansion to be
consistent with Jesus s teaching on divorce, even if Jesus himself had not explicitly taught it (or at
least it wasn t recorded). What we see in these two texts is a breakdown of the marriage covenant; one
spouse (or perhaps both) has decided to no longer be in covenant with the other either by means of
their unfaithful sexual behavior or by abandoning the other (including circumstances such as abuse).
What we can understand from this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As such, when this happens, there are grounds for a permissible divorce, as one spouse has utterly
shattered the marriage covenant with their spouse and God. Now, there is an obvious tension here.
Jesus reveals the spirit of the law within the SOM namely, that marriage was sacred, an echo of God s
covenant love, and now we are talking about permissible reasons for divorce. Paul s point wasn t that
we should seek our reason for a permissible divorce. Rather, Paul insists that we must not be quick to
jump at divorce, trying to find a reason or an excuse to get out. Divorce is permissible in some
situations, but it is rarely required. Divorce is a last resort when one spouse s heart has been so
hardened that they refuse to be before God and with and for their spouse as echo of God s covenant
love. But, what I believe Paul is articulating in this passage is that it is also wrong to demand one to
stay in a marriage that is no long a true marriage as one part has broken the covenant. So much more
to say and clarify, but alas I ve already blown passed 150

The Legacy Of Jack Roosevelt Robinson
In the year of 1919 January the 31st a man was born who would later change history in America.
Using his athletic prowess in sports to challenge the societal norms and make way for other forward
thinking people as himself. This man s name was Jack Roosevelt Robinson born in Cairo, Georgia the
youngest of five siblings. His parents came from humble backgrounds, Sharecroppers being the only
black family on the block. Being raised by a single mother of five Jackie encountered a lot of
prejudice which only made his family bond strengthen which he would need for what was to come
later in his historic life. Jackie s family moved to California when he was a small child. Growing up in
poverty in a well off neighborhood of Pasadena led him to join a small gang which a close friend of
his encouraged him to leave. It was only then in high school did he realize his athletic ability which
would destiny him for greatness. At John Muir High School which he attended with his older brother a
great athlete in his own way who had already won a silver medal at the 1936 Summer Olympics
encouraged him to take up sports. Jackie would go on to play a number of Varsity level sports which
saw him lettered in the four major ones Football, basketball, track and baseball. Little did he know he
would be changing the face of baseball America s favorite pastime in years to come.

The Setting In The Story Salmon
The setting is one of the most important elements in a story. A setting is where and when the story
takes place. The setting affects the story s atmosphere, mood and everything the characters say and do.
Characters respond to and interact with the setting of the story. The setting can also dictate what kind
of conflict the characters may have in the story and how it will be resolved. A good example to show
how setting influence the story is the story Salmon. It takes place near a river in the early evening one
summer day. I think this story is set in Alaska because it mentions in the story that during summer, it
has twenty four hours of light and in the winter the sun never came out at all. Also, in the beginning of
the story, Kat

Visual Comedy And Physical Comedy
The American audience has always held tightly to the concept of visual media, ever since its
conception ( The History of Motion Pictures, n.d.). In the 1890s, Thomas Edison mesmerized
audiences with simplistic shows two trains crashing, the water flowing over Niagara Falls, a
beachscape. Scenes like this used to draw huge crowds of people in, curious as to how the realm of a
motion picture would move forward ( The History of Motion Pictures, n.d.). Not until the 1900s did
film directors begin telling stories with their works. Of those works came the most classic form of its
genre: Physical Comedy. Since the implementation of sound had not been established until 1927 ( The
History of Motion Pictures, n.d.), physical/visual forms of comedy were all that could be used. In this
paper, we will analyze the use of the visual comedic style through time, as well as its gradual decline
in contemporary cinema. It is a common belief that on October 6, 1927, when Jolson belted out those
pioneering songs in The Jazz Singer he was sounding the death knell of silent film and with it, visual
comedy. (Dutton, 2015). The Jazz Singer heralded the commercial ascendance of sound films and the
decline of the silent film era. (Wikipedia, 2017). With dialogue on the rise, visual comedy was
declining in cinema. Visual or Silent comedy fell. Many people believe that even though talkies came
after silent films, comedy from the dialogue was a downgraded from the silent or visual comedy.

Taking a Look at Humanistic Psychology
Humanistic psychology is refereed as the 3rd force in psychology it was an alternative to
psychoanalysis and behaviourism. Humanistic psychology was instead focused on each individual s
potential and stressed the importance of growth and self actualization. A fundamental belief that
people are born good but that this can be distorted through social interactions and life experiences. In
this essay I plan to explain Carl Rogers s theories of person centred and how I have linked them to
myself. Carl Rogers stated that there was many key aspects which make up a person s personality.
The Organismic self the true self both conscious and unconscious. The Organismic valuing process a
fundamental concept within humanistic psychology. A tendency to automatically pick, work towards
and search for situations which fit into our inborn aspirations in order to lead a gratifying life. A
biologically driven process not aware of I or ME . The Actualizing tendency, human organism has an
underlying force which drives us to enhance and meet our maximum full potential physically,
spiritually and emotionally. The actualising tendency can never be destroyed only suppressed, it s been
described as a biological pressure to fulfil the genetic blueprint . Positive regard which is a learnt need
developed in infancy. A perception of experiencing the self making a positive difference to another. A
need that validates love, affection and respect from a significant other. The Self concept which

How Selection On Behavior Shapes Brain Investment
Understanding how selection on behavior shapes brain investment is a major question in the analysis
of the evolution of animal sociality [Szathmary and Maynard Smith, 1995; Edelman and Changeux,
2001; Ricklefs, 2004; Gronenberg and Riveros, 2009]. Neural tissue is energetically expensive and
therefore brain regions should only enlarge when needed to meet functional demands [Niven and
Laughlin, 2008]. The social brain hypothesis posits that social interactions are so cognitively
demanding that social environment selects for enhanced neural development [Humphrey, 1976;
Dunbar and Shultz, 2007]. Studies supporting the social brain hypothesis usually rely on comparative
analyses across taxa with varying levels of social complexity and use ... Show more content on

To date only two brain investment studies on solitary and facultatively social bees are reported. A
study on solitary bees, Osmia lignaria found that adults emerge with neuronal development typical of
experienced workers in advanced eusocial insect species, but also found that mushroom body neuropil
volume further increased with foraging experience [Withers et al., 2007]. These results confirm that
mushroom bodies are important for cognitive processes in solitary antecedents, but cannot inform us
on the role of social experience on neuropil investment. Smith et al. [2010] examined brain size and
development using the facultatively social bee Megalopta genalis, a species with both solitary and
primitively social colonies in the same populations. Mushroom body size increased with foraging
behavior in solitary individuals and workers compared to newly emerged M. genalis females, but even
greater mushroom body development was found in queens. Smith et al. [2010] attributed enhanced
growth of the mushroom body cortex to maintaining behavioral dominance. Much like obligately
eusocial bees, however, Megalopta are bees with distinct reproductive (queens) and foraging
(workers) roles and therefore the relative roles of foraging and social experience are not

How Did The Tanzimat Influence Arab Elites
Furthermore, when the Tanzimat came in the 18th century to reform the administration and
bureaucracy of the empire among other things, many of its policies managed to further include Arab
elites within the Ottoman system in several provinces, while attempting to reduce the decentralized
nature of Ottoman control over Arab provinces. The system of iltizam has been long gone by this time,
yet the power and influence of Arab elites did not disappear with it. The tanzimat, which granted
Arabs citizenship rights brought mutual support from some Arab elites to the empire and vise versa as
the elites detached themselves from those who called for further decentralization, and the Ottomans
allowed Arabs to be part of the empire s administration, while the majority of Arab elites opposed it.

Robinson Crusoe Character Analysis
A person may find someone likeable for many different reasons. Maybe the person is charismatic and
loyal, honest and humble, grateful and trustworthy. The likability of the protagonist in Daniel Defoe s
novel, Robinson Crusoe, is often called into question by many of its readers. The story starts with the
protagonist, Robinson Crusoe, leaving home against his father s wishes to voyage across the sea. But
misfortune fell upon this voyage in the form of a great storm. During this storm, Crusoe prays to God,
saying that if He saved him, Crusoe would serve him for the rest of his life. This storm caused Crusoe
and his shipmates to abandon ship and watch it fonder. He survived, forgot his promise to God, was
deemed bad luck by the captain and the crew, and was directed to never again board a ship. Ignoring
this, Crusoe boarded another ship, on which he and the crew were captured by pirates and sold as
slaves. He was a slave for three years before he escaped with another slave named Xury. They are then
saved by a Portuguese captain, who keeps Xury and takes Crusoe to Brazil. There Crusoe lives a life
similar to what his father wanted for him, a simple yet content life. He at first vowed to never sail
again, but after getting better acquainted with his neighbor, he was persuaded to travel to Africa with
his neighbor to bring slaves, free of cost, back to their farms, breaking this vow. But he proves to,
again, be bad luck. The ship crashes and Crusoe is the only man to survive. Through all this, and
more, Crusoe proves himself to be inconsiderate, selfish, inhumane, and ungrateful, all unlikable
traits. During all of his adventures, Robinson Crusoe was inconsiderate of his shipmates safety and
selfish. His first voyage was literally a shipwreck and it all sparked from his selfish desire to venture
across the seas. He was told by the captain that this was a sign that he was not to be a seafaring man.
(Defoe, 9). Crusoe sailed again, knowing that he was destined for disaster, putting all his shipmates in
danger. And the captain was right. Disaster fell upon him and his shipmates on most of his voyages.
On his second voyage they were boarded and captured by pirates, and sold as slaves. He had almost

Teen Television Dram The Next Generation, By The Bell And...
Every television show falls into one genre or another. Whether its an Action, Comedy, Drama,
Adventure show, they all fall into the category of different types of television genres. The concept of a
genre can be used in rhetoric, literary theory, media theory and more recently linguistics, to refer to a
distinctive type of text (Chandler, 1). Thus, every aspect of television exhibits a reliance on genre in
which becomes a principal factor of framing texts which support comprehension. Throughout this
essay, I will focus specifically on the genre of Teen TV Drama using the television show Degrassi:
The Next Generation, and comparing it to two other programs such as Saved by the Bell and Beverly
Hills of 90210. Through this notion, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Presently, there are many iconic television shows that draw on the generic identity of teen drama for
instance, Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Linda Schuyler and Kit Hood s, Degrassi: The Next Generation. Degrassi is known to be a very
popular television show that first started in the 1980 s. It is a franchise of five television shows that
focus on the lives of young teenage students. Some of Degrassi franchise includes the kids of Degrassi
Street, Degrassi junior high, and Degrassi classic. However, in 2001, there was a new addition of
Degrassi that was premiered, Degrassi: The next generation. During its eight seasons, the viewers kept
up with numerous different regular teenagers who go to school at Degrassi High school and learn to
juggle school while being able to maintain a social life and basically just trying to fit in and finding
their place in the world.
Looking back to these three popular shows, we are able to discuss the central genre of teen drama.
However, when examining the three teen drama television shows, there are many focal points that
must be considered. As chandler mentioned before, genre is known to be a distinctive type of text.
However, there are a number of things that must be considered when analyzing a genre. Not only do
we study the text, but also the creators and producers of the text, the effect the text has

AR-15 Customization Choices
If you are the proud owner of an AR 15 then you need to ensure that you have all the accessories you
need to properly use and maintain your rifle. The AR 15 is a useful platform in that it has more
customization choices than pretty much any other rifle on the market today. The reason for all these
customization choices is that the AR 15 is probably the most widely available civilian rifle.
The AR 15 was developed originally for the military, and was sold by Colt to the Army which
classified the rifle as the M 16. The M 16 saw extensive use in Vietnam. It had some issues which
were related to a lack of testing and after updating the rifle with a heavier barrel and a forward bolt
assist, the M 16 was renamed the M16A1. The M16A1 was able to

Observation Reflection
A few weeks ago our group sat in the Starbucks located on campus for 20 minutes observing people
who sat, stood and walked around. In this time we had four different sets of eyes looking around and
taking notes. The following is a summary of our observations to answer the required questions. A
difficulty we may have encountered if we would have stayed in the same location longer is people
would have noticed. People were extremely busy, but as time went by one girl did notice there was
something odd about our table and began to stare. That would have made it awkward and caused a
distraction of what our goal if more people noticed us. Another difficulty would be our notes would
have been repetitive and it would have been hard focusing. As observers, constantly seeing the same
thing, it would just be too much for us.
During the observation period we conducted as a group, we felt that it would be very easy since we
naturally observe people in our free time. Though through time we felt very creepy and somewhat
stupid just sitting around staring at people and writing notes. Nevertheless, an overall feeling was that
it was interesting sitting. We observed our fellow classmates, Rutgers students and faculty staff who
passed by.
Overall, in the quality and accuracy of our field notes and conclusions, we would be very confident
since we had four different perspectives observing the same location, front, back and sides of the
room. All of us coming up with both similarities in our

The Similarities Between Father And Tateh In Ragtime
Origins In the early 1900 s, America was the great melting pot of the world. Immigrants from all over
the world came to the United States in search of the American dream, but many never found it.
Immigrants were greeted with a harsh welcome, being hated for the simple fact that they were not true
blooded citizens. In Ragtime, the family of Tateh embodies these citizens. Doctorow also follows
Father, a character of middle class America with a family and passion for exploration. Both of these
paternal figures and their families have their share of problems to deal with, whether they have an
advantage of social and ethnic background or not. The differences between these Father and Tateh,

Doctorow asserts, Father looked at her (Mother) through the open door. She ignored him. He
wandered through the house finding everywhere signs of his own exclusion (91). Not surprisingly,
Mother leaves Father, and marries Tateh. Doctorow notes, At the end of this time Tateh, having
ascertained that his wife had died, proposed marriage. He said I am not a baron, of course. I am Jewish
socialist from Lativa. Mother accepted him without hesitation. She adored him; she loved to be with
him. (269). Thus Doctorow proves the have s can overcome the have not s, and be happy in life. The
social issue seemed to be the most important of all between Father and Tateh. At first Father seems to
be plenty satisfied with his fireworks store and the money he s making, but it soon proves not to be
enough to satisfy him, and thus he embarks on his journey to the North Pole, and loves the fame that
comes with it. Doctorow asserts, In the morning Father took the North Avenue streetcar downtown.
He strode to City Hall. He went in the door a widely respected businessman in the community. His
career as an explorer had been well reported in the newspapers. The flag that flew from the cupola on
top of the building had been his gift to the city (177). Father loves all the attention he was getting, but
underneath the celebration laid many hidden problems. He was socially popular but his family seemed

Things Happened Before The Industrial Revolution
Industrial Revolution Essay
When you look at the world today you see all the factory´s, manufacturing, and technology all around
you. These things would not have happened without the industrial revolution. I´m here to talk about
all of the changes that happened in the industrial revolution. Things like farming, factory and
manufacturing, and communication and transportation.
One of the biggest changes was farming, it was a huge thing before the industrial revolution. It just got
better after. One of the big inventions was the steel plow. The midwestern soil was to thick for normal
iron plows. John Deere made the steel plow to cut through that soil for more farming land. Another
invention was the mechanical reaper. This made farming faster by having the crops mechanically
harvested. That let the people who had to harvest them by hand able to do something else. The
mechanical reaper was invented by Cyrus McCormick, in 1831 it was a big step in the farming
industry. Finally the threshing machine, is a piece of farm equipment that threshes grain, it removes

the telegraph. The telegraph was a to communicate with someone long distance. It worked by
transmitting electrical signals over a wire laid between stations. The telegraph was invented by
Samuel Morse in 1791. Finally the next improvement was all of the roads and canals being built. They
made roads out of crushed stone so that it was easier to travel around. Canals made shipping things

Soy Essay
Soy sauce is used as an important flavouring in cooking and has been integrated into the traditional
cuisines of many East and Southeast Asian cultures. Despite their rather similar appearance, soy sauce
made in different cultures and regions are different in taste, consistency, saltiness and fragrance.
Soy sauce is generally a salty, brown liquid made from fermented soybeans mixed with roasted grain
such as wheat, barley and rice, added with a mold called Aspergillus oryzae and salt. Its consistency
can range from very thin to very thick. Flavours too can vary by types and have very subtle
differences. There are many types of soy sauce, all of which are salty and earthy tasting brownish
liquids used to season food during cooking or at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These amino acids and peptides contribute a full, robust flavour and act as a flavour potentiator. The
moromi enzymes also convert the wheat starch into sugars which is important to the finished soy
sauce because it subdues the saltiness. Yeasts act upon a portion of these sugars to form alcohols.
Ethanol is the predominant of these and imparts many flavouring and aromatic characteristics. It also
indicates the presence of other aromatic compounds produced by fermentation. The amount of ethanol
varies depending on the types of soy sauce. For example, the lower level of wheat in tamari soy sauce
do not contribute enough starch to create ethanol so its flavour is entirely different.
Some of the amino acids and sugar undergo Maillard reaction during fermentation to develop a
reddish brown colour. The flavour will be adversely affected if too many of these flavour contributing
components are changed into colouring substances. The colour of finished sauce will darken
undesirably if it is exposed to oxygen. Opened containers of soy sauce should be sealed and
refrigerated to protect both flavour and colour. Finished soy sauce with a pH of about 4.8 and around
1.0% lactic acid is considered as a good soy sauce

Benjamin Franklin´s Involvement in the English Empire Essay
With Benjamin Franklin s ambition to see one day the glorious English Empire shifted to North
America, specifically in Pennsylvania and to get rid of the proprietors, he envisages a single
community that will embody Englishmen only. For that reason, Franklin is against massive
immigration of Germans and the presence of African slaves which will fade the identity of a perfect
English Empire. He becomes more optimistic of his vision when the Crown appoints him in 1753 as a
postmaster at Williamsburg. Despite all the failures that he encounters from not passing solutions such
as colonial union and the Albany Plan, Franklin still maintains his degree of confidence and loyalty to
the mother country. Closer to his dream, he has been selected in ... Show more content on

On the other hand, the Stamp Act has a different and a direct effect on the colonies. The objective of
the act is to tax legal documents, almanacs, newspapers, playing cards, and nearly every form of paper
used in the colonies. This seems to be a threat to the American constitutional rights. Therefore,
colonial agents in London and lieutenants Governor oppose to the Stamp Act, including Franklin
saying that It will affect the printers more that anybody . Franklin, despite his British s loyalties and
love, comes up with an alternative plan for raising revenue instead of taxing legal paper. He proposes
a plan that parliament authorize the issuing of paper currency at interest. Franklin knows exactly how
his proposed plan will work and assures his fellows by saying that it would not be an unpleasing one .
This action taken by Franklin to find another option to raise money demonstrates how he has his
country of birth s interest at heart. Unfortunately, his proposal is rejected by Greenville, a chief
minister under who s the Stamp act is planned. But that does not stop him from appealing the plan.
However, many colonies such as Pennsylvanian blame Franklin for creating the Stamp Act. Even his
home back in America, his wife and relatives are threatened because of the Act. They blame him for

Definition Of Effective Leadership And Leadership
Scripture has much to say in regards to leadership and those in positions of leadership. The Bible tells
us that leaders are to lead with integrity and values that govern the heart. So he shepherded them
according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with skillful hands. (Psalm 78:72 NKJV)
Unfortunately, that is not the practice of many in leadership, often leaders operate with a public set of
values that differs from that of their private life. The definition of effective leadership has changed
from character driven leadership to results oriented leadership and is now determined by the results a
leader produces, as long as the leader is producing good results, the private life of a leader has no
bearing on the situation. (Rima, 2000) While it is true, that leaders can, for a time, engage in a quality
practice of leadership that differs from their personal life and produce positive results, eventually, the
destructive behaviors of their personal life will affect and influence their public life and may result in
failure and scandal.
The dangers of this dichotomy are leaders that are emotionally or psychologically unhealthy and the
end result is leaders that lack integrity and depth of character. The consequence of this philosophy is
failed businesses and churches, ineffective governments, broken marriages and families. This
disconnect between the public and private life has led to a major distrust and wariness of public
leaders. Rima believes that the root cause

though this movie was worth my time, so I would recommend watching it. First of all, this movie does

what she had said, it is later discovered that she went anyways without Catherine when Catherine

as she wished others to believe. Isabella also wishes to appear to be delicate, much like other Gothic
heroines who faint at the least possible emotional turmoil.

Emily Dickinson s A Certain Slant of Light Analysis Essay
1
Emily Dickinson s There s a certain Slant of light
In her poem, There s a certain Slant of light, Emily Dickinson uses metaphors and imagery to convey
the feeling of solemnity and despair at winter s twilight. The slanted light that she sees, is a metaphor
for her battle with depression. Anyone who is familiar with Dickinson s background will have a better
understanding of what she is trying to say in this poem. Dickinson was known as a recluse and spent
most of her life isolated from the outside world. The few people that she did come in contact with over
the years are said to have had a major impact on her poetry. Although, her main muse of her work
seems to be despair and internal conflict. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we re feeling down, like the speaker of this poem, we see the world as how we feel inside; things
look unpleasant, and grey and dismal. We re unable to see a ray of hope that is coming through the
window in the form of sunshine. In the fourth stanza, when death, or it as the speaker calls it, comes
everything listens. When someone dies, those still on this earth sometimes experience stillness in
nature, as if the world is on hold and listening to us. In Dickinson s poem the stillness comes from the
slant of light, and the landscape and shadows listen and figuratively hold their breath. The landscape
and shadows are personified in this stanza. The capitalization of Landscape and Shadows gives the
impression that the speaker is referring to someone she knows. The mood here changes quite a bit
compared to the first three stanzas of this poem. You get a sense of anticipation instead of despair, and
the oppression that the speaker has felt has lifted and now she s feeling light and maybe some what
alluring. In the final two lines of the poem, the poet uses sort of a morbid imagery. When it goes, tis
like the Distance, On the look of Death. (15 16) Dead people have a distant look to them since the life
in their being is gone somewhere else. We also see the exit of winter light at the end of the day in the
same distant way we might see some deaths. Death is

Jonbenet Ramsey Conspiracy Theory
What was believed to be a kidnapping of 6 year old, JonBenet Ramsey, ended up to be the discovery

The curator has a lot to deal with so there is a structure of positional power so that one person is not

hierarchy to follow but a branching of different disciplines, like: exhibition designer, conservator,
development, and accounting (Lancaster, A., Houdyshell, A. 2019). With all these different people
being involved, a curator would benefit from knowing the Relational Leadership Model. The ethical
and empowering parts of the RLM section are important to be able to draw different people together to
work as a cohesive team (Komives, S. R., Lucas, N., McMahon, T. R, 2013). Every position has its
own possibility for leadership. One of the most propionate leaders in the field of Museum curation is

In this period the church was often, the leading patrons of art and Pope Julius II helped keep the church one of the main patronages of this time. He commissioned many artists who created famous art pieces in Rome and in despite that many different families in Italy were rivaling the church. Julius II did whatever he could delay the plans of Lorenzo de Medici, the most powerful patron in Italy at the time. He had taken Michelangelo and commanded him to work in Rome. • 3. Optimism as a Theme for Candide Essay Optimism as a Theme for Candide Just as on the title, Candide, or Optimism, Optimism is also used as a major theme. Voltaire s satire of philosophical optimism is one of the major issues of Candide. Throughout the story, satirical references to the best of all possible worlds contrast with natural catastrophes and human wrongdoing. According to Wikipedia, optimism, the opposite of pessimism, is a lifeview where the world is looked upon the as a positive place. Optimists generally believe that people are inherently good. These people are said to have a positive outlook on life, believing that given time, things will work out in the end. Also according to Wikipedia, In philosophy, optimism is linked with the name of Gottfried ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Private misfortunes make for public welfare, Pangloss concludes. This is true in a optimistic society According to SparkNotes.com: Pangloss and his student Candide maintain that everything is for the best in this best of all possible worlds. This idea is a reductively simplified version of the philosophies of a number of Enlightenment thinkers, most notably Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz. To these thinkers, the existence of any evil in the world would have to be a sign that God is either not entirely good or not all powerful, and the idea of an imperfect God is nonsensical. These philosophers took for granted that God exists, and concluded that since God must be perfect, the world he created must be perfect also. According to these philosophers, people perceive imperfections in the world only because they do not understand God s grand plan. Because Voltaire does not accept that a perfect God (or any God) has to exist, he can afford to mock the idea that the world must be completely good, and he heaps merciless satire on this idea throughout the novel. The optimists, Pangloss and Candide, suffer and witness a wide variety of horrors—floggings, rapes, robberies, unjust executions, disease, an earthquake, betrayals, and crushing ennui. These horrors do not serve any apparent greater good, but point only to the cruelty and folly of humanity and the indifference of the natural world. Pangloss struggles to find justification for the terrible things in the world, but his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2010, when the military leaders released pro democracy leader of Mayanmar Ayng San Suu Kyi from house arrest, Most of the political leaders thought Burma was beginning to change for the better. • 5. Modern Art And African Art There is a clear connection between modern art and African art. African symbols, shapes, and ideologies influence paintings, textiles, and sculptures. However, not many discuss comics within the traditional definition of art. The medium of comics boomed after the Great Depression with Superman. A time of hardship, the Depression left people needing something to believe in. Since the beginning of time people have used storytelling and mythology to explain the world around them. After the Depression with the birth of Superman, superheros were no different. Superheros are modern mythologies, a phrase coined by Richard Reynolds. In his book, Super Heroes: A Modern Mythologies, he refers to Roland Barters essay Myth Today, which points out that mythology represents culture as nature to explain the political and social anatomy of societies. Superheroes contribute to this concept by using science and magic to create a sense of mythical wonder. Reynolds uses the example of Thor, who is a god trapped on earth in the body of a scientist with a walking stick as punishment from his father Odin. Throughout the comic book universe there are heroes that not only draw from Norse mythology, but Native American, Hindu, and Greco Roman mythology as well. One has to wonder if there is a connection between superheroes and African mythology. The Yoruban orishas of Nigeria, which parallel the mythologies listed previously contains different deities each representing an aspect of nature can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Oedipus wants to discover the murderer of Laius in order to end the suffering of his people. 2. (Question 2) Oedipus is a man of action, but he is also a man of temper. Oedipus bullies Tiresias into answering him. It is at this point that Tiresias reveals that Oedipus has killed the previous king, Laius. A pattern emerges regarding Oedipus behavior. He has a temper, but is also used to having his way. At one point Oedipus becomes extremely angry and accuses Tiresias of acting in collusion with his brother in law, Creon, to take the throne from Oedipus. 3. (Question 3) Oedipus doesn t accept the story because he has already accused Tiresias of being personally disloyal, stubborn, unpatriotic, and disrespectful to Thebes and that he is partly responsible for the death of Laius. Tiresias has several times accused Oedipus of having an uncontrollable temper. This temper may help explain why Oedipus rejects Tiresias s revelations about Oedipus himself. 4. (Question 6) Oedipus begins to think that he is the murderer when he learns the location of the crime scene. Tiresias tells Oedipus that he is the murderer, the cause of all the suffering in Thebes. • 13. Exegetical Paper On I Corinthians 7 In I Corinthians 7, Paul declares that abandonment by an unbelieving spouse constitutes grounds for a valid divorce. Paul clearly identifies this as an expansion of what Jesus has said (Matt. 5:31 32, 19:3 9) for he says, I say, not the Lord. As such, we can conclude that Paul considered his expansion to be consistent with Jesus s teaching on divorce, even if Jesus himself had not explicitly taught it (or at least it wasn t recorded). What we see in these two texts is a breakdown of the marriage covenant; one spouse (or perhaps both) has decided to no longer be in covenant with the other either by means of their unfaithful sexual behavior or by abandoning the other (including circumstances such as abuse). What we can understand from this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As such, when this happens, there are grounds for a permissible divorce, as one spouse has utterly shattered the marriage covenant with their spouse and God. Now, there is an obvious tension here. Jesus reveals the spirit of the law within the SOM namely, that marriage was sacred, an echo of God s covenant love, and now we are talking about permissible reasons for divorce. Paul s point wasn t that we should seek our reason for a permissible divorce. Rather, Paul insists that we must not be quick to jump at divorce, trying to find a reason or an excuse to get out. Divorce is permissible in some situations, but it is rarely required. Divorce is a last resort when one spouse s heart has been so hardened that they refuse to be before God and with and for their spouse as echo of God s covenant love. But, what I believe Paul is articulating in this passage is that it is also wrong to demand one to stay in a marriage that is no long a true marriage as one part has broken the covenant. The setting affects the story s atmosphere, mood and everything the characters say and do. Characters respond to and interact with the setting of the story. In the 1890s, Thomas Edison mesmerized audiences with simplistic shows two trains crashing, the water flowing over Niagara Falls, a beachscape. Scenes like this used to draw huge crowds of people in, curious as to how the realm of a motion picture would move forward ( The History of Motion Pictures, n.d.). Not until the 1900s did film directors begin telling stories with their works. Of those works came the most classic form of its genre: Physical Comedy. Since the implementation of sound had not been established until 1927 ( The History of Motion Pictures, n.d.), physical/visual forms of comedy were all that could be used. In this paper, we will analyze the use of the visual comedic style through time, as well as its gradual decline in contemporary cinema. It is a common belief that on October 6, 1927, when Jolson belted out those pioneering songs in The Jazz Singer he was sounding the death knell of silent film and with it, visual comedy. (Dutton, 2015). The Jazz Singer heralded the commercial ascendance of sound films and the decline of the silent film era. (Wikipedia, 2017). With dialogue on the rise, visual comedy was declining in cinema. Visual or Silent comedy fell. Many people believe that even though talkies came after silent films, comedy from the dialogue was a downgraded from the silent or visual comedy. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. How Selection On Behavior Shapes Brain Investment Understanding how selection on behavior shapes brain investment is a major question in the analysis of the evolution of animal sociality [Szathmary and Maynard Smith, 1995; Edelman and Changeux, 2001; Ricklefs, 2004; Gronenberg and Riveros, 2009]. Neural tissue is energetically expensive and therefore brain regions should only enlarge when needed to meet functional demands [Niven and Laughlin, 2008]. The social brain hypothesis posits that social interactions are so cognitively demanding that social environment selects for enhanced neural development [Humphrey, 1976; Dunbar and Shultz, 2007]. To date only two brain investment studies on solitary and facultatively social bees are reported. A study on solitary bees, Osmia lignaria found that adults emerge with neuronal development typical of experienced workers in advanced eusocial insect species, but also found that mushroom body neuropil volume further increased with foraging experience [Withers et al., 2007]. These results confirm that mushroom bodies are important for cognitive processes in solitary antecedents, but cannot inform us on the role of social experience on neuropil investment. Smith et al. [2010] examined brain size and development using the facultatively social bee Megalopta genalis, a species with both solitary and primitively social colonies in the same populations. Mushroom body size increased with foraging behavior in solitary individuals and workers compared to newly emerged M. genalis females, but even greater mushroom body development was found in queens. Smith et al. [2010] attributed enhanced growth of the mushroom body cortex to maintaining behavioral dominance. The system of iltizam has been long gone by this time, yet the power and influence of Arab elites did not disappear with it. • 22. Robinson Crusoe Character Analysis A person may find someone likeable for many different reasons. Maybe the person is charismatic and loyal, honest and humble, grateful and trustworthy. The likability of the protagonist in Daniel Defoe s novel, Robinson Crusoe, is often called into question by many of its readers. The story starts with the protagonist, Robinson Crusoe, leaving home against his father s wishes to voyage across the sea. But misfortune fell upon this voyage in the form of a great storm. During this storm, Crusoe prays to God, saying that if He saved him, Crusoe would serve him for the rest of his life. This storm caused Crusoe and his shipmates to abandon ship and watch it fonder. He survived, forgot his promise to God, was deemed bad luck by the captain and the crew, and was directed to never again board a ship. Ignoring this, Crusoe boarded another ship, on which he and the crew were captured by pirates and sold as slaves. He was a slave for three years before he escaped with another slave named Xury. They are then saved by a Portuguese captain, who keeps Xury and takes Crusoe to Brazil. There Crusoe lives a life similar to what his father wanted for him, a simple yet content life. He at first vowed to never sail again, but after getting better acquainted with his neighbor, he was persuaded to travel to Africa with his neighbor to bring slaves, free of cost, back to their farms, breaking this vow. But he proves to, again, be bad luck. The ship crashes and Crusoe is the only man to survive. Through all this, and more, Crusoe proves himself to be inconsiderate, selfish, inhumane, and ungrateful, all unlikable traits. During all of his adventures, Robinson Crusoe was inconsiderate of his shipmates safety and selfish. His first voyage was literally a shipwreck and it all sparked from his selfish desire to venture across the seas. He was told by the captain that this was a sign that he was not to be a seafaring man. (Defoe, 9). Crusoe sailed again, knowing that he was destined for disaster, putting all his shipmates in danger. And the captain was right. Disaster fell upon him and his shipmates on most of his voyages. On his second voyage they were boarded and captured by pirates, and sold as slaves. Ethanol is the predominant of these and imparts many flavouring and aromatic characteristics. It also indicates the presence of other aromatic compounds produced by fermentation. The amount of ethanol varies depending on the types of soy sauce. For example, the lower level of wheat in tamari soy sauce do not contribute enough starch to create ethanol so its flavour is entirely different. Some of the amino acids and sugar undergo Maillard reaction during fermentation to develop a reddish brown colour. • 31. Benjamin Franklin´s Involvement in the English Empire Essay With Benjamin Franklin s ambition to see one day the glorious English Empire shifted to North America, specifically in Pennsylvania and to get rid of the proprietors, he envisages a single community that will embody Englishmen only. For that reason, Franklin is against massive immigration of Germans and the presence of African slaves which will fade the identity of a perfect English Empire. He becomes more optimistic of his vision when the Crown appoints him in 1753 as a postmaster at Williamsburg. Despite all the failures that he encounters from not passing solutions such as colonial union and the Albany Plan, Franklin still maintains his degree of confidence and loyalty to the mother country. The objective of the act is to tax legal documents, almanacs, newspapers, playing cards, and nearly every form of paper used in the colonies. Therefore, colonial agents in London and lieutenants Governor oppose to the Stamp Act, including Franklin saying that It will affect the printers more that anybody . Franklin, despite his British s loyalties and love, comes up with an alternative plan for raising revenue instead of taxing legal paper. He proposes a plan that parliament authorize the issuing of paper currency at interest. Franklin knows exactly how his proposed plan will work and assures his fellows by saying that it would not be an unpleasing one . This action taken by Franklin to find another option to raise money demonstrates how he has his country of birth s interest at heart. Unfortunately, his proposal is rejected by Greenville, a chief minister under who s the Stamp act is planned. But that does not stop him from appealing the plan. However, many colonies such as Pennsylvanian blame Franklin for creating the Stamp Act. Even his home back in America, his wife and relatives are threatened because of the Act. • 32. Definition Of Effective Leadership And Leadership Scripture has much to say in regards to leadership and those in positions of leadership. The Bible tells us that leaders are to lead with integrity and values that govern the heart. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with skillful hands. (Psalm 78:72 NKJV) Unfortunately, that is not the practice of many in leadership, often leaders operate with a public set of values that differs from that of their private life. The definition of effective leadership has changed from character driven leadership to results oriented leadership and is now determined by the results a leader produces, as long as the leader is producing good results, the private life of a leader has no bearing on the situation. (Rima, 2000) While it is true, that leaders can, for a time, engage in a quality practice of leadership that differs from their personal life and produce positive results, eventually, the destructive behaviors of their personal life will affect and influence their public life and may result in failure and scandal. The dangers of this dichotomy are leaders that are emotionally or psychologically unhealthy and the end result is leaders that lack integrity and depth of character. The consequence of this philosophy is failed businesses and churches, ineffective governments, broken marriages and families. This disconnect between the public and private life has led to a major distrust and wariness of public leaders. Rima believes that the root cause ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Other than being directed by Marc Forster, the film s revenue was over a whopping total of $200 million, whilst its budget was a total of $190 million. This film stars Brad Pitt, who plays Gerry Lane, a former United Nations investigator, and also stars numerous other actors. Gerry Lane must leave his daily life, outside of the UN and embark on a journey across the globe to find a cure for the ongoing zombie pandemic. I felt as though this movie was worth my time, so I would recommend watching it. Isabella claims to want to save her pride when she mentions that she cannot go out riding with the men alone when Catherine says that she cannot go due to her previous engagement with the Tilneys because it would be improper for her to do so. Nevertheless, despite what she had said, it is later discovered that she went anyways without Catherine when Catherine holds true to her plans with Eleanor. • 38. Emily Dickinson s A Certain Slant of Light Analysis Essay 1 Emily Dickinson s There s a certain Slant of light In her poem, There s a certain Slant of light, Emily Dickinson uses metaphors and imagery to convey the feeling of solemnity and despair at winter s twilight. The slanted light that she sees, is a metaphor for her battle with depression. Anyone who is familiar with Dickinson s background will have a better understanding of what she is trying to say in this poem. Dickinson was known as a recluse and spent most of her life isolated from the outside world. The few people that she did come in contact with over the years are said to have had a major impact on her poetry. Although, her main muse of her work seems to be despair and internal conflict. ... We re unable to see a ray of hope that is coming through the window in the form of sunshine. In the fourth stanza, when death, or it as the speaker calls it, comes everything listens. When someone dies, those still on this earth sometimes experience stillness in nature, as if the world is on hold and listening to us. In Dickinson s poem the stillness comes from the slant of light, and the landscape and shadows listen and figuratively hold their breath. The landscape and shadows are personified in this stanza. The capitalization of Landscape and Shadows gives the impression that the speaker is referring to someone she knows. The mood here changes quite a bit compared to the first three stanzas of this poem. You get a sense of anticipation instead of despair, and the oppression that the speaker has felt has lifted and now she s feeling light and maybe some what alluring. In the final two lines of the poem, the poet uses sort of a morbid imagery. When it goes, tis like the Distance, On the look of Death. A major issue with the case was that the house was not sealed off, and multiple people, including their pastor, were able to go to and from with no complications (Saferstein, 2015.) The pinnacle of museum structure, for this country, is the Smithsonian, with its headquarters located in Washington D.C. (Smithsonian). The structure of the museum field follows the positions form the top being the main director, directors in specific fields then curators. After the curators, there is no longer a hierarchy to follow but a branching of different disciplines, like: exhibition designer, conservator, development, and accounting (Lancaster, A., Houdyshell, A. 2019). With all these different people being involved, a curator would benefit from knowing the Relational Leadership Model. The ethical and empowering parts of the RLM section are important to be able to draw different people together to work as a cohesive team (Komives, S. R., Lucas, N., McMahon, T. R, 2013). Every position has its own possibility for leadership. One of the most propionate leaders in the field of Museum curation is Franz Boaz.
