St. Athanasius s On The Incarnation Of The Word
St. Athanasius is a notable Bishop of Alexandria, who wrote an Orthodox classic work named On
The Incarnation of the Word. This book s purpose is to clarify the legitimacy of the Incarnation of
Christ to non believers. He uses various scriptures, and teachings to further prove his argument.
Essentially, this classic work proved to be recognized by many groups of people, because of its
meticulous detail and explanations on the righteousness of Incarnation. St. Athanasius provides
clarification about Incarnation, and creates a defense against critics of Incarnation. He explains the
significance of mankind s creation and the original sin s effect on creation. St. Athanasius states that
humans were created in the Image of God to be aligned with God s will, and remain incorrupt.
Furthermore, man was created with a unique and special grace from God. However, mankind s
relationship with God was broken through the Fall, and death was the penalty. St. Athanasius
argues that because of the original sin, the Word took on human form in order to rescue mankind,
and grant salvation, so that death was no longer the penalty for sin. Out of God s love, he rescued
humanity from being corrupted. For example, this quote demonstrates his ultimate love, Naturally

I did not find the book to be defective or misguided, but it absolutely accomplished its purpose in
thoroughly defending the legitimacy of the Incarnation. Every chapter carefully provided the
context needed on how to understand the Incarnation, one step at a time. There was never a point in
time where there was an overload of information. Rather, I appreciated how the author kept
reinstating specific points, so as to refresh the reader s memory and enable them to better
understand Incarnation. For example,

Titration In The Medical Field
Today, in the real world, titration is used in the medical field to find the concentration of blood
and urine. It is also used to find a certain amount of a chemical in a food. A titration is a way to
the concentration of an unknown solution by using a solution with a known concentration. The
unknown solution is called an analyte , while the known solution is called the Titrant . The
glassware used in order to preform titrations is a buret or burette . A burette is a glass cylinder
with a tap on one of the edges. It is used for measuring volumes of liquids, especially in titrations.
Standardization (sometimes referred to as standardisation) is a way of putting something or make
something into technical standards. Standardization is used when doing a titration since it finds out
the exact concentration of a solution that you want to use to find the concentration of the analyte.
An equivalence point in a titration is when the moles of the titrant equal the moles of a analyte. One
way to find the Equivalence point is through the pH indicator. This is an indicator that changes color
when there is a chemical change. An acid and base indicator changes color depending on what the
pH is. There are also Redox ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to find a standard solution you must first, add water from a cleaning bottle to dissolve it.
Second, you would need to use some of the water to rinse off all the substance off the watch glass.
This needs to be done at least two times. Then stir with a glass rod until all the of the solid
substance is dissolved, then put the solution to the volumetric flask. The laboratory method is when
you drop the titrant into the analyt. (basically titration). The results you get are titration, pH level,
and the moles. The equation to find molarity/concentration is: M1 x V1 = M2 V2. In conclusion,
titration is very useful in the modern day. It s also pretty

Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems
Data Indexing
Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to
handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL
(Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace
technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object
in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via
ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way.
This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes.

All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a
message passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments
across the slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is
an event handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In
onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web
worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage,
again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the
retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master
web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache
created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using
pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval
operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). The downside of this
technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the RAM capacity of the user, although
we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of HTML standard with the
introduction of the File API:

An Unequal Distribution Of Wealth And Power Across The Nation
Living in America, I have always been aware of fact that there is an unequal distribution of
wealth and power across the nation. However, I was unaware that there is such a significant gap
between the rich and the poor. It was made clear in the video Wealth Inequality in America , that
the top 1% has more power and wealth than the middle and poor classes. The rich can get away
with not paying their taxes and sitting on their pile of free money. In the meantime, the poorest
people are down to the loose change in their pockets and are still paying their taxes. Corporations
today have more privileges in America, including a voice in the democracy. People like us are
being excluded from important decision making regarding our economic lives. Our understanding
of what s going on with the wealth distribution and the actuality of what s going on is two
completely different things. So you may ask, what s the reason behind this inequality? The
answer is corporations and big businesses. Corporations such as Bank of America, Nike, Google,
Apple, and Microsoft are rising to power. Corporations have also completely diminished the
original intent of our Founding Fathers. According to Collin and Yeskel s Economic Apartheid in
America , it s sad to say that many Americans are unaware of these things and it s starting to affect
us as a country day by day. But while the truth of the economy may be difficult to understand,
Collins, Yeskel, and Perkins clarified and changed my views on the

The Green Banana Sparknotes
Donald Batchelder s The Green Banana conveys readers that we create our own center and once
individuals leave that special place we are able to learn more about the special geniuses around us.
When we venture out of that secure and comfortable space, then we gain insight on the world
around us and educates us on new perspectives. Batchelder gains a new perspective on the different
cultures around the world when his car breaks down and needs help. Although, Batchelder puts off
his want to expose his ignorance by wondering what a bananawould do to help his car. The way he
admits his ignorance about not understanding why they would use a banana to help him shows that
he stays in his special place and never ventures out of that. Bachelder s ignorance is showing when
he expresses his views on America s higher education. He makes it seem that American s are
smarter and better than the rest of the world, but that changes when he realizes the special
potential of the green banana. He is showing himself as arrogant to prove that most of America
would see it as the same way. The green banana had never been of any use other than as a food
item and once he forces himself to go outside of his special place, he shows the creativity of the
various cultures. The village has little to no education or technological help, they end up having to
use other aspects from nature to do that same kind of work, which is different from Batchelder s
norm. This teaches him to not

Summary Of Maggie Stiefvater s Shiver
The book I chose to read was Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
The story is set in the cold months of October and December, with flashbacks to summertime. It is
set in modern day America on the border of Canada and the fictional town of Mercy falls,
Minnesota. The book mostly surrounds Boundary Woods, were the wolf pack lives; the Crooked
Shelf, a bookstore; and Duluth, another busy town bordering Mercy Falls.
The story is set in present day, probably in early 2000s because there are no smart phones and not
all teens have a phone like most people today.
The story is narrated by two teenagers: Grace and Sam.
The story s protagonists are Grace Brisbane, a seventeen year old girl, and Sam Roth, an
eighteen year old boy. Grace was bitten by wolves when she was eleven but she does not fear
them. In fact, for the past six years, she has had an infatuation with one wolf who visits her most
days during the winter. This wolf has yellow eyes and turns out to be Sam. Sam was bitten by a
wolf at the age of seven and becomes a wolf when it turns cold outside. He is not a werewolf, but
he is not a human or a wolf. He refers to himself as just Sam because he feels he is not wolf or
human. Even though Grace was bitten, she did not become a human wolf, unlike everyone else
who has ever been bitten, and most of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This symbolizes the gunshot wound that Sam sustained after Jack had gone missing. The wolf
pack was being hunted and Sam was shot in the shoulder, which somehow made him turn human.
That gunshot wound is what brought him and Grace together. Another symbolism example is
also on the cover of the book. It is what I presume to be Grace in a forest probably Boundary
Wood and Sam in wolf form. This is an image of the forest that they spend so much time in. It
also gives an example of the creepy place where the wolves live, and it is foggy, which represents
the mystery surrounding the wolves and their

Kids on my block always loved to play outside. Growing up we always knew each other. We
cherished the times we would spend with each other. Whether it being on the Scorching hot days of
Summer, the chilly days of Fall, Or the rainy days of Spring. We would be on that street hanging
out and spend time with each other.
Spending so much time with each we had also noticed growing up that one of our friends has old
stuff. We noticed that every now and then when any of us would receive something new from our
parents, we would of course show it off to one another. Also remembering that our friend never
really had anything to show off to us. I could understand the situation, with the family being poverty

Rhetorical Analysis About Love Song
Where is the love? Is the name of the Black Eyed Peas song that made its debut in 2003, 12 years
have passed still till this day this song is relevant to what is going on in our world. The name is
just so intriguing it makes the audience wonder what is going to be said and what is the song
about? Is it just another love song or can it be about something else? It captures the audience
immediately.
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism, but we still got terrorists her livin in the USA, the big

This appeal is the one that is most prevalent and is shown through Aristotle s three criteria to
stimulate emotions from the audience. This song does an amazing job of connecting with the
audience on an emotional level and it also touches the audience in some way or other. After I
thoroughly read the lyrics I realized that it makes you want to make a change and get involved. I
know that after I hear this song I want to go out and do something better for this world and make it
a better place. Every day on the news we hear and see the horrible things that are happening and
we stop and say well what can you do about it? But once this song is heard it s like you want to
start the change and make a difference in some way. Can you practice what you preach and
would you turn the other cheek this really struck me hard when I first sat down and took it in.
Can you really just walk away from all the horrible things that are going on or can you make that
difference that is talked about all the time? Aristotle mentions the 3 criteria s which are
understanding the state of mind of the audience, who can excite the emotions, and understanding
the reasons why people become emotional. These 3 can be seen in the line people killin, people
dyin , children hurt and you hear them crying. This line is so captive and immensely strong just the

Commercial Snow Removal
The winter season can bring a lot of unpredictable weather that may either leave a lovely blanket of
soft glistening snow on the ground, or end up a dangerous sheet of ice that can cause many
different problems for both pedestrians and drivers.
To avoid these dangers, most people prefer calling commercial snow removal companies to
professionally take care of the snow and ice. The top commercial snow removal companies are
equipped with all of the necessary equipment along with professionally trained staff that will know

Some companies will have a variety of commercial snow removal packages for a set price which
will include everything from initial assessment, snow removal, ice removal and even salting (or
sand, depending on the laws in your area)in the end.
While most of these packages may seem like a great deal, it s important to make sure you know
exactly what s included in each package so that you get your money s worth and avoid getting
something extra you don t need, nor should pay for in the end.
Also, it s important to double check if the package includes both snow and ice maintenance.
Sometimes they will only be one or the other but have a price that would make people assume both
are included.
Finally, you should always ask the companies directly if they have any minimum requirements for
snow removal jobs because there are some that will refuse to take on a job if the amount of snow
and ice are below their particular minimum. This is to ensure they head out to jobs that are worth
the effort and cost from their side of things.

Police Officers And The Police Force
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you. Most of
us know exactly who says this and what it means. The only problem is that this quote is the
extent of our knowledge as an outsider to the Greensboro Police force. I was able to get an inside
look at what really happens in a day in the life of an everyday policeofficer. I spent two days at the
department observing the officers and riding alongside one in the police car. Throughout my
experience I learned that most of the stereotypes I had about police officers were completely
wrong. One of the first officers I talked to was Corporal Donaldson, who is also my father. I asked

However despite this there are many more problems that police officers have to deal with like
disrespect from the public. I asked the officers what one word is that really stands out to them as
blatant disrespect, 90 percent of them told me that word was pig. A pig is a slang term which is
used to disrespect a police officer. Most officers say they will just ignore this but according to
state law it is illegal to make or use any utterance, gesture, display or abusive language that is
intended to and likely to provoke violent retaliation. About 5 of the 20 officers I interviewed told
me they have arrested people for repeatedly calling them a pig. Not only is this a normal reply, but
most people, including me, do not know that officers can do this.
While I was riding around in the patrol car with Officer Hank I saw firsthand that many people
do not respect police officers. One person who he pulled over cursed, yelled, and all together
disrespected Officer Hank due to their taillight being out after already being warned. Officer
Hank told me he was not going to give them a citation before they disrespected him. I also found
that when officers where cameras people are less likely to be disrespectful to them. My dad always
wears a camera when he is patrolling and besides people pulling the race card disrespect is
something he rarely has to deal with. Another key factor is the gender of the officer in

Economic Overview In Auto Industry Essay
Economic Overview of the Automotive Industry
The automotive industry is without a doubt an industry that has massive implications relating to the
United States economy as well as affecting every American household. Shifts in the supply and
demand of automobiles influence the current and future household purchases. Households must
determine what amount of their hard earned income to allocate to certain necessities. Because most
households have a budget, the amount spent on transportation it limited. While most industries
have an effect on the economy, the automotive industry has far reaching implications for most
Americans. Not only are the workers affected but the many spin off jobs created as well as the

Few American households live without some form of transportation. The amount of money spent
on the transportation proves whether the automobile is a necessity or a luxury. Higher priced
models sell more when the economy is stronger. When the economy is slow lower cost cars are
more popular. Transportation as a whole is a necessity. The form of the transportation is what
determines if it is a luxury. (Collier, 1981) The fluctuations in the supply and demand of
automobiles have an effect on other industries. One such industry that is affected in a measurable
way is the after market automobile parts industry. When the demand for new automobiles is high
the demand for after market parts is lower. When the demand for new automobiles is low the
demand for after market parts rises. The only explanation is uncovered when looking at individual
households. Individual households have a limited amount of money to budget for transportation. If
new cars are in high demand the income is higher for individual households. If new cars are not in
high demand individual households have less money to budget for transportation. With less money
to budget for transportation, individuals are more likely to use after market parts to make repairs
on their existing vehicle rather than purchase a new vehicle when their current vehicle needs
costly repairs. The cost to repair a vehicle is far less than the cost to purchase a new vehicle.

Employees must be allowed actively to participate in problem solving and process improvements to
be engaged with moving the department forward. When it comes to personal growth, people need
to feel that they are advancing toward their career objectives and are learning and contributing new

Having open and honest communication with individuals and teams is another method of

Puppy Mills Have Been Notorious For Keeping The Puppy...
Puppy mills have been notorious for keeping the puppy trade industry alive and as big as it is
today. With thousands of puppy mills, both known and under the radar, they provide easy access
and cheap puppies to sell at pet stores at inflated prices. While they do keep the business booming
and keep pure breeds that may specialize in important roles, they continue to put countless numbers
of dogs through terrifying pain. To stop the agonizing torture the lovable pups go through, stricter
rules must be applied to these puppymills, a new license regulation must be used, regular
inspections, and awareness of alternative options must be made. With already set regulations on
puppy mills, people say there is no reason to have any additions on the rules. There is a kennel
license, which restricts how many dogs someone can have depending on how much square
footage of land he or she owns. This regulates the amount of dogs that can be held for breeding
and to keep the area clean and safe enough for all the dogs involved. People are required to go
through a moderately long process to achieve their license, to ensure that these dogs will be
okay. Puppy mills are also known for keeping pure breed numbers up, such as beloved German
shepherds, poodles, Welsh Pembroke corgis, and Labradors. Having mixed breeds can be
healthier of course but as Sofia Jeppsson had said in her article Purebred Dogs and Canine
Wellbeing, However, in the long run such a strategy would severely deplete the

The Historical Context Of The Saint Bartholomew s Day...
In a private correspondence from George Washington to Irish politician Edward Newenham, the
president responded to Newenham s description of the violence between Catholics and Protestants
in 1792 by stating that, Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are
caused by a difference of sentiments in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and
ought most to be deprecated. Two hundred and twenty two years before Washington penned those
words, those deep rooted and disturbing resentments between Catholics and Protestants brought
about a massacre of thousands of Protestant victims in the Paris, its neighboring urban centers, as
well as in the countryside on 24 August 1572. The Saint Bartholomew s Day Massacre was one of
the bloodiest events in early modern French History, and initiated an intensified and bloodier period
in the War of Religion. This paper will analyze testimonies from Catholic and Huguenot viewpoints
by looking at the massacre s historical context, the massacre itself, as well as its importance to the
Reformation. By presenting information from primary and secondary sources, this paper looks to
examine the massacre and the Catholic Church s culpability, and whether the leaders within the
Church could have prevented the slaying of thousands of innocents or simply nurtured longstanding
resentments in order to eliminate their religious opposition. To fully comprehend the enormity of

Keny A National Leader Of National Unity
Chapter Two
The Kenyan Cases in Perspective
2.1 Background and context
The 2007 general elections in Kenya was a watershed event in the history of the country.
Unprecedented violence broke out in many parts of the country immediately Mwai Kibaki of the
Party of National Unity (PNU) was declared the winner of the presidential poll and sworn in on
30th December 2007. The violence escalated as the leader of Orange Democratic Movement
(ODM), Raila Odinga, immediately rejected the outcome of the poll. Such violence had never
occurred in Kenya before and it had devastating consequences. The violence, commonly referred
to as Post Election Violence (PEV), continued for the next 14 days after Kibaki was declared the
winner and according to the Commission of Inquiry into Post Election Violence report (CIPEV or
WAKI report), it led to 1,133 deaths, rape of approximately 3,000 women, severe injuries to 3,561
persons, massive destruction of both government and private property and displacement of over
300,000 people. Kenya had not experienced violence of such gravity before as previous ethnic
clashes documented by the Akiwumi Commission which was commissioned in 1998 and the report
released in 2002.
Although declaration of Kibaki as the duly elected president is what sparked the violence, Waki
report and other agencies examined deep seated issues which played a central role in causing the
violence and these include; first is the culture of impunity in the country and politicization of

Neanderthal Parallax, Hominids, by Robert J. Sawyer
The human race has achieved many impossible feats. We have landed on the moon, illuminated
the world with the electric light, and cured illnesses that used kill thousands. In a world where
we look to technology to answer all of life s problems, we are faced with a dilemma. How can our
technology possibly keep up with our modern needs? In the first book of the Neanderthal Parallax,
Hominids, by Robert J. Sawyer, we are transported into a parallel universe. In this unpolluted world
that is populated by Neanderthals, there is a sophisticated computing system, we know as a
quantum computer. As of 2014, quantum computers are still in their infancy, and have been
prophesied since the early 1990s. However, work on building a quantum computer, and creating
algorithms compatible with one, began around the turn of the century. As one of only seven sci fi
writers in the world, and the only Canadian, who has won all three of the top international awards
for science fiction, he is known for the amount of research and probable vision intertwined into the
technology in his books.
A quantum computer is a sophisticated computer device that can actually calculate the use of
quantum mechanical phenomena, to perform operations on data. Basically, it s one of the few
devices that can calculate the quantum theory. Quantum theory is also classified as quantum
mechanics, which is a branch of physics that deals with physical phenomena inside of particles at
nanoscopic scales (Wilczek). It

Essay about The Heroic Nora Helmer in Henrik Ibsen s A...
The Heroic Nora Helmer in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House What does it mean to be a hero?
According to Webster, a hero is someone of great strength [and] courage who is admired for his
or her courage and nobility. 1 Stretching this definition a bit further, I would argue that a hero is
someone who uses this strength, courage, and nobility to help or save others. Nora Helmer, in
Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House, leaves her husband and family at the end of the play a move that can
be viewed as either very selfish or very heroic. Because Nora uses her strength and courage in effort
to save others and herself from the false doll s house life they are living in, her final act of leaving
home is truly heroic. Nora saves... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen when she calls her youngest child her sweet little baby doll, and later when she
reassures her children that the doggies wouldn t bite [her] pretty little dollies (22).2 Nora seems
to be overlooking the fact that these little, doll like figures are real people that she is responsible
for. In this same scene, Nora plays hide and seek, laughing and shrieking, with her kids (23). As
the argument that Nora is being selfish states, she is her children s playmate. Yet, shouldn t a
mother be more than just a fellow playmate? A mother has a responsibility to teach and train her
children, not just play with them. This scene is the only time we see direct interaction between
Nora and her kids; it suggests that being a playmate or else using them as her play toys, are two
of the only ways Nora knows how to be a mother. Nora herself admits to Torvald, in their final
confrontation, that the children have been my dolls who thought it was fun when I went and
played with them (81). Later in the play, after this first scene with her children, when Nora is
talking to Anne Marie, we can see that she is making efforts to ensure that her children will be
cared for if even if she is not there to raise them. Anne Marie is the only mother Nora has ever had
and, as Nora says, she was a good mother to [Nora] when [she] was little (36). Nora goes on to say,

The Pros And Cons Of Reverse Engineering
Introduction
In today s world reverse engineering is commonly used in the manufacturing industry and is used
the medical sector when it comes to devices. Reverse engineering or otherwise known as RE is a
process where and engineered artifact e.g. car is deconstructed in a way that it reveals its details
such as its design and architecture. Reverse engineering is frequently used in many software
environments, software RE refers to taking an existing program where the source code or proper
documentation is not available and trying to recover the details such as design and implantation.

This idea or concept has been around long before computers and dates back to the time of

wrapped objects and physically dissecting it to uncover its designs, the ideas gathered from this
was used to make similar or better products. In the industry setup reverse engineering is used to
examine the product under a microscope or else taking the product apart and finding out what

What Are The Similarities And Differences Between Koalas...
Frogs are a large, carnivorous group of small bodied, tailless amphibians who on average live for
10 12 years. In contrast, koalas are arboreal herbivores and are marsupials that are native to
Australia who can live up to 18 years, old according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koala.
Although, these two animals, like many other creatures, are unfortunately endangered but for
various reasons. There are countless problems facing towards koalas and frogs and they are
obviously not all the same. The troubles that the koalas and frogs face can easily be compared
and contrasted. Scientists have been looking for ways to save koalas and frogs, but they do not
all work. Therefore, there are many similarities and distinctions between the problems for frogs
and koalas. As a matter of fact, there are not too many similarities between the problems for these
animals. Nonetheless, there is one major thing that has caused both of these animals to be
endangered species, and that one thing is the work of humans. Without a doubt, humans
specifically play a crucial role in killing off frogs and koalas around the globe. One particular part
of these animals lives that are essential to them living is their habitat. Unfortunately, as the human

Hallucinations In Macbeth
Shakespeare is known for using unnatural or supernatural elements in many of his works to
reinforce his themes. Several apparitions throughout the play affect Macbeth and the evil forces
destroy his morals. The super natural represents Macbeth s internal guilt and struggle. Three
examples of this in Macbethare when Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo, Macbeth sees a bloody
knife before he kills Duncan and it is pointed toward Macbeth s chambers, and Lady Macbeth sees
hallucinations that her hands are bloodstained. In Macbeth, Shakespeare uses the world of visions,
hallucinations, and ghosts to develop important theme of how power drives people to commit
unnatural actions of destruction and violence. First, Ghosts and the witches lead a very... Show

Macbeth sees a bloody knife before he kills Duncan and it is pointed toward Macbeth s
chambers. This is an example of the supernatural and it pushes Macbeth to commit the violent
murder. He wishes he had never built himself up to kill him. Lady Macbeth encouraged the
murder. Macbeth sees a hallucination of the bloody knife when he says, Is this dagger which I
see before me/ The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch / thee / I have thee not, and yet
I see thee still. / Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible / To feeling as to sight? (2.1.44 49) Macbeth
sees the bloody knife because it reminded him of killing Duncan. Lady Macbeth s blood stains on
her hands is a connection to her role in encouraging Macbeth to use violence to gain power even
though she did not kill the people with her hands. After Macbeth killed Duncan, he was very
scared. He saw the blood on his hands and realized he should not have killed Duncan. He is
regretting that he killed him. As Macbeth waited to kill Duncan he hears one of the servants
laughing and one cried, Murder! and they woke each other up. (2.2.31) One servant cried, God
bless us! and the other replied, Amen. (2.2 Lines 37) Lady Macbeth sees hallucinations that her

Latin Culture Influence On American Culture Essay
The influence of Latin culture is prominent in the American world today. Everything from the
Latin language to the Roman law is visible in the culture that shapes the way we live our lives in
the United States. You can see it by watching the Super Bowl game or even fulfilling your citizen
duty of serving on a jury.
The Latin language is prominent in the culture of the United States today. It is the root of many of
the words spoken and used in your daily lives, especially in certain career fields. From the website
on Latin roots dict, pel, port, and gress are just some of example of roots of the English language
(Infoplease. Infoplease, n.d. Web. 24 Jan. 2017). Americans have also created prefixes and suffixes
from the ancient Latin jargon. Other effects on the English culture through the Latin language

Descriptive Experience Of A Museum
When I first saw the museum I was amazed because the museum is surrounded by such beautiful
environment, being around such green grass, trees, and the sea although it was quite a way away
from the museum. The exterior of the museum, in my opinion, was a very cool be modelled after
Roman architecture. After entering in the lobby, I found it to be very orderly and the security gave
me a sense that the museum was heavenly guarded. After walking around the interior of the
museum, with security guards in every room, I found that it was just as great as the exterior. The
interior was amazing because each room was wide and each paintingor sculpturewas organized by
country and artist making a very order museum atmosphere which allowed viewers to think about
the artworks. Another thing about the inside of the museum was that each room was painted and
lighted to not clash with the artworks in the room, allowing viewers from all around the world to
see the true beauty of the artwork without the room messing up their perception of the paintings or
sculptures.
The first of the paintings I going to write about is the AllГ©e at Schloss Kammer. The AllГ©e at
Schloss Kammer is an oil painting which was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1912 making it one of his
late works. The painting had powerful spots of color, with a semi rough texture I think, and

What Is The Communist Manifesto
The Communist Manifesto
The communist Manifesto is the author s way of interpreting the goals of Communism, as well as
the theory underlying this movement. Two major points of the manifesto explain how class
relationships are defined by an era s means of production. Also, the manifesto incorporates how
class struggles, or exploitation of one class by another, are motivating force behind all historical
developments. If those two points are not followed then a revolution occurs and a new class
emerges as the ruling one. This outcome represents the march of history which is driven by
economic variables. The Manifesto argues that this development is inevitable, and the capitalism is
inherently unstable. Elimination of social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that the reading was worth my time. Most readings that I am forced to read do not peak my
interest. This work on the other hand was enjoyable because it was filled with information
regarding the work of communism. This book has to be considered one of many famous literary
works. It is hard to argue that the text is not worth reading. I don t believe in the ideas expressed
in the text, but I respect the impact that the novel has had on society. Communism was viewed as
such a scary topic for most of history and it was interesting to read about it. I am not sure why the
author came up with these ideas. I do know that he was the basis for the idea of communism. It is
hard to say that the author did not contribute to my understanding of the topic because if he did not,
then I would be considered an idiot. It is almost like getting a basketball lesson from Michael
Jordon and not improving your game. The way in which the text was represented made it easy to
understand. The four section format was broken down in a way so it had easy access. The most
important thing that I obtained from the text is how much I am proud to be an American. I love
the form of government that we have. A democracy is something that I am proud to be apart of. It
also makes me proud of our government that we went out to stop the spread of communism. All

Throne Of Blood Movie And Book Comparison Essay
Throne of Blood by Akira Kurosawa tells the story of a Japanese soldier who, after hearing a
prophecy told to him by an evil spirit, kills the Japanese king to assume his role. The film has
been hailed by many as the greatest rendition of Shakespeare s Macbeth of all time, surpassing
even direct reenactments of the classic in fidelity. Despite the fact that not a single line of dialog
is shared between the two works, Akira Kurosawa has managed to capture the essence of the
original play in all its glory. However, that is not say that the Throne of Blood is a complete carbon
copy of Macbeth. Although the film possesses the same basic storyline, Kurosawa s rendition of
Macbeth has a set of unique qualities that separate it from the original Shakespearean story. The
same goes for Roman Polanski s Macbeth, which, although slightly deviating from the original
story, can be considered a direct performance of the play. The argument of which play is better...

The Throne of Blood takes place in Japan, during a bloody civil war that seems may never stop.
Much like Macbeth, the movie tells the story of two men who meet a spirit in the woods who tells
them of their future. However, the themes present reflect differently in this rendition. Rather than
being centered around betrayal and ambition, most of the film s themes relate to the necessity of
loyalty or an honor of sorts, a trait that was much desired by many Japanese soldiers at that time.
This new loyalty centered theme can be seen vividly in the many scenes between Washizu and his
wife, Asaji. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth taunts her husband s manhood in order to propel him to
commit murder. This action is in line with European thought at that time, where courage was the
most desirable of traits. Said themes are made evident in this quote; the scene in Macbeth preceding

Impact Of Force On The Community

Course Project Impact of Force on the Community
Introduction: The use of force is often under scrutiny in todays world. With cameras always
focused on the negative actions of those in law enforcement it is difficult for the public to
understand several things. First off, what is it like to be a police officer, what is it like to have the
power to legally take a life when deemed necessary? What is it like to have to use force and
possibly deadly force to control a situation? Many people do not see the world of law
enforcement in this way, many just see a senseless shooting, or a beating. Now I will admit this
does happen, but it is rare. However when the media portrays the police force in a certain light it
can take years for the departments affected to recoup the losses within the community.
Misunderstood use of force in recent conflicts like Ferguson, where an officer shot an assailant
who had just committed a robbery and assaulted him, can be spun and sensationalized both on
purpose and subconsciously to make a bad guy out of the officer. In the Ferguson case I believe
false eyewitness accounts and false accounts being used as credible sources caused the community
and nation to riot against the department, city, and county officials. These actions fueled by the
mass media coverage caused weeks of unrest and community turmoil.
However what is force? Also how does it impact the community? Use of force is defined in 7 levels,
and used in the

Testing Frequency Distributions (314 words)
Using the NCOVR_US_HOMICIDES data I investigated the distribution of female headed
households and family poverty to see if the data was normally distributed or not, this was the issue
that the research question and hypotheses focused on.
H1 Family poverty is skewed compared to a normal distribution
H2 Family poverty is not skewed compared to a normal distribution
The Chi squared test has certain requirements in terms of the minimum expected population for
each category. The data did not meet these criteria, meaning that the chi squared test in this
circumstance would be inappropriate. To avoid such issues, the nonparametric Kolmogorov
Smirnov test was used in preference as it has less rigorous data requirements..
The positive skewness values for FP89 (1.285) indicate that the sample is positively skewed
compared to a normal (Gaussian) distribution, with a long right tail. The kurtosis value is 2.013,
compared to a normal distribution which would have a Kurtosis value of 0.00. Thus, the test has
indicated that the distribution of both samples is substantially more peaked than would be the case
for a normal sample distribution, this means that the null hypothesis should be rejected and thus
that family poverty is skewed compared to a normal distribution.
This is likely to be the case because family poverty is likely to reach a tipping point beyond which
it is unsustainable, possibly due to high values of poverty being deemed

Structural Factors Of Homelessness
Homelessness: Individual and Structural Factors Influencing This Wicked Problem According
to recent research, homelessness affects between 150,000 and 300,000 Canadians a year
(Cherner et al. 2017, 219; Gandermann et al. 2014, 341; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). This increase in
homelessness began in the 1980 s following economic changes as well as shifts in government
policy that lead to a reduction in supports for low income families as well as a decrease in
affordable housing available across Canada (Gaetz 2010, 21; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). Though
proving a national problem, a concrete solution for homelessnessdoes not exist, making it a wicked

However, in order to eliminate homelessness as a crisis in Canada, these individual factors must be
analyzed alongside the structural influences that lead to homelessness. According to the literature,
structural risk factors that contribute to homelessness are: transitioning from an institutional
placement into the community, social policies such as a lack of affordable housing and the
dismantling of national housing strategy, transferring the responsibility from federal to
provincial governments, and discrimination (Gaetz 2010, 22; Piat et al. 2015, 2368). By
acknowledging these structural risk factors as contributing alongside individual factors, a social
ecological viewpoint proves effective in preventing homelessness (Piat et al., 2379). As the
literature suggests, the social ecological perspective provides a lens for understanding
homelessness in Canada as a complex social issue that warrants a coordinated response across
sectors, levels of government, and society (Piat et al., 2380). By considering the issue of
homelessness across all levels of society, we are better prepared to formulate a proper and effective

Importance Of Uniformities
Uniformities have become inevitable in our society and are visually seen everywhere from the
way people dress, in architecture, language, behavior, etc. The concept of knowledge has been
developed and evolved around the existence of uniformities. Uniformity is defined as the quality
of lacking diversity or variation for which quality is similar or comparable in kind or nature. Due
to the increasing amount of uniformities, knowledge has expanded to major aspects of the world
and uniformity has become a vital role in our development of knowledge. Uniformities are a
major aspect of our lives that contribute to our way of communicating amongst each other.
However, uniformities have introduced a world without individuality, creativity, and personify and

related GDP losses reached 2 6% of the total economic output of the country, with 58% of those
losses being in the agricultural sector and 7% in the industrial sector (Chima, 2003). When workers
or their children contract malaria, they are unable to go to work, work effectively, or spend money
on things other than treatment (Chima, 2003). In other words, malaria acts as a drain on both the
productivity of a country, as often there is no other person available to take the place of the absent
worker. Furthermore, the costs of finding alternates to replace workers who have fallen ill, or must
take care of their children is placed squarely on the shoulders of businesses, while the individual
who contracted malaria, or must care for someone who has malaria is unable to both earn money
for their absent days, as well as spend money in areas other than the treatment of malaria, thus
stimulation only a small portion of the economy, and effectively blocking the circulation of funds in
the economy to their fullest extent (Chima, 2003).
Moreover, when examining the intersection between the medical impacts of malaria on the human
and the social consequences, a vicious cycle is revealed in which the body, the community, and the
economy are all similarly impacted by the presence of malaria in a

The Longest Running Fued is the Sunni and Shia Conflict
The Sunni and Shia conflict is currently the longest running feud in the world. Both groups
possess an extreme hatred for one another. Over the years, these two groups have openly
expressed their hatred with one another through violent killings. This split between the Shia and
Sunni originates all the way back in the 7th century. Their difference was based on political
differences. As a part of my essay I will explain the difference and origins of the split between the
Shi a and Sunni and also cover the current issues between them.
I have always assumed that the Sunni and Shia conflict is similar to the war between the Catholic
and Protestant, however it is much more complex and different. These two branches of Islam share
the same Holy Book and all agree that Allah is there God. Sunni and Shia both believe that the
last prophet was Muhammad. However, when Muhammad died, there was a disagreement of
who would be Muhammad s successor. There were two candidates to be the successor of
Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Ali bin Abi Talib. Ali bin Abi Talib was Muhammad s cousin and son
in law. Abu Bakr was Muhammad s friend and senior companion. The Sunni Muslims believed
that the leadership should be granted to the person with most experience. On the other hand, the
Shi a believed the decision should be based purely through Muhammad s bloodline. The majority
of Muslim ended up choosing Abu Bakr to be the Caliph (successor). However, Abu Bakr s rule
was shortlived when he died in 634 CE.

Benefits Of The Bicycle
INTRODUCTION:
In my research I will discuss with you about some interesting invention is the Bicycle. The
bicycle is the means of transportation more prevalent around the world. In the past the bike was
used as primary form of daily transportation. After many years the people start to use this
invention for children to play and have a fun. But nowadays, the people developed and used the
bike as a sport device. So, I chose this invention (the bicycle) because I love it so much and I
always feel happy when I ride it, and because the bicycle is a safety transport and easier to use than
other transportation.
PART 1:

Powhatan Indians And The Powhatan Tribe
Before the arrivals of the Europeans, the Powhatan Indians were a tribe that lived on the coastal
parts of Virginia. Their native language was Algonquian, which was used by various tribes along
the east coast. The Powhatan tribe had an interesting culture compared to the Europeans. They were
a powerful tribe at the time and had control most areas of what is now today Virginia. They were

society, so his mother gave him the right to be chief. The name of the Powhatan Tribe was
established when the tradition of crowning a chief as a king, Chief Powhatan being the first. When
he became chief, he ruled six tribes, he used these alliances to go to war with other tribes,
expanding his rule to 30 tribes. He then became the founder of the Powhatan Confederacy, which
was established in 1580.
The Powhatan Confederacy, were along the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia and Southern Maryland.
They would bathe in the water in the rivers they lived near. They would live in towns, which had
from two to one hundred houses. Chief Powhatan would have

  • 2. St. Athanasius s On The Incarnation Of The Word St. Athanasius is a notable Bishop of Alexandria, who wrote an Orthodox classic work named On The Incarnation of the Word. This book s purpose is to clarify the legitimacy of the Incarnation of Christ to non believers. He uses various scriptures, and teachings to further prove his argument. Essentially, this classic work proved to be recognized by many groups of people, because of its meticulous detail and explanations on the righteousness of Incarnation. St. Athanasius provides clarification about Incarnation, and creates a defense against critics of Incarnation. He explains the significance of mankind s creation and the original sin s effect on creation. St. Athanasius states that humans were created in the Image of God to be aligned with God s will, and remain incorrupt. Furthermore, man was created with a unique and special grace from God. However, mankind s relationship with God was broken through the Fall, and death was the penalty. St. Athanasius argues that because of the original sin, the Word took on human form in order to rescue mankind, and grant salvation, so that death was no longer the penalty for sin. Out of God s love, he rescued humanity from being corrupted. I did not find the book to be defective or misguided, but it absolutely accomplished its purpose in thoroughly defending the legitimacy of the Incarnation. Every chapter carefully provided the context needed on how to understand the Incarnation, one step at a time. There was never a point in time where there was an overload of information. Rather, I appreciated how the author kept reinstating specific points, so as to refresh the reader s memory and enable them to better understand Incarnation. For example, ... It is also used to find a certain amount of a chemical in a food. A titration is a way to the concentration of an unknown solution by using a solution with a known concentration. The unknown solution is called an analyte , while the known solution is called the Titrant . The glassware used in order to preform titrations is a buret or burette . A burette is a glass cylinder with a tap on one of the edges. It is used for measuring volumes of liquids, especially in titrations. Standardization (sometimes referred to as standardisation) is a way of putting something or make something into technical standards. Standardization is used when doing a titration since it finds out the exact concentration of a solution that you want to use to find the concentration of the analyte. An equivalence point in a titration is when the moles of the titrant equal the moles of a analyte. One way to find the Equivalence point is through the pH indicator. This is an indicator that changes color when there is a chemical change. An acid and base indicator changes color depending on what the pH is. There are also Redox ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to find a standard solution you must first, add water from a cleaning bottle to dissolve it. Second, you would need to use some of the water to rinse off all the substance off the watch glass. This needs to be done at least two times. Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems Data Indexing Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL (Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes. Security One of the distinctive property of the object ... In onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). • 7. An Unequal Distribution Of Wealth And Power Across The Nation Living in America, I have always been aware of fact that there is an unequal distribution of wealth and power across the nation. However, I was unaware that there is such a significant gap between the rich and the poor. It was made clear in the video Wealth Inequality in America , that the top 1% has more power and wealth than the middle and poor classes. The rich can get away with not paying their taxes and sitting on their pile of free money. In the meantime, the poorest people are down to the loose change in their pockets and are still paying their taxes. Corporations today have more privileges in America, including a voice in the democracy. People like us are being excluded from important decision making regarding our economic lives. Our understanding of what s going on with the wealth distribution and the actuality of what s going on is two completely different things. So you may ask, what s the reason behind this inequality? The answer is corporations and big businesses. Corporations such as Bank of America, Nike, Google, Apple, and Microsoft are rising to power. Corporations have also completely diminished the original intent of our Founding Fathers. According to Collin and Yeskel s Economic Apartheid in America , it s sad to say that many Americans are unaware of these things and it s starting to affect us as a country day by day. Batchelder gains a new perspective on the different cultures around the world when his car breaks down and needs help. Although, Batchelder puts off his want to expose his ignorance by wondering what a bananawould do to help his car. The way he admits his ignorance about not understanding why they would use a banana to help him shows that he stays in his special place and never ventures out of that. Bachelder s ignorance is showing when he expresses his views on America s higher education. He makes it seem that American s are smarter and better than the rest of the world, but that changes when he realizes the special potential of the green banana. He is showing himself as arrogant to prove that most of America would see it as the same way. The green banana had never been of any use other than as a food item and once he forces himself to go outside of his special place, he shows the creativity of the various cultures. Few American households live without some form of transportation. The amount of money spent on the transportation proves whether the automobile is a necessity or a luxury. Higher priced models sell more when the economy is stronger. When the economy is slow lower cost cars are more popular. Transportation as a whole is a necessity. The form of the transportation is what determines if it is a luxury. (Collier, 1981) The fluctuations in the supply and demand of automobiles have an effect on other industries. One such industry that is affected in a measurable way is the after market automobile parts industry. When the demand for new automobiles is high the demand for after market parts is lower. When the demand for new automobiles is low the demand for after market parts rises. The only explanation is uncovered when looking at individual households. Individual households have a limited amount of money to budget for transportation. If new cars are in high demand the income is higher for individual households. If new cars are not in high demand individual households have less money to budget for transportation. With less money to budget for transportation, individuals are more likely to use after market parts to make repairs on their existing vehicle rather than purchase a new vehicle when their current vehicle needs costly repairs. With thousands of puppy mills, both known and under the radar, they provide easy access and cheap puppies to sell at pet stores at inflated prices. While they do keep the business booming and keep pure breeds that may specialize in important roles, they continue to put countless numbers of dogs through terrifying pain. To stop the agonizing torture the lovable pups go through, stricter rules must be applied to these puppymills, a new license regulation must be used, regular inspections, and awareness of alternative options must be made. With already set regulations on puppy mills, people say there is no reason to have any additions on the rules. There is a kennel license, which restricts how many dogs someone can have depending on how much square footage of land he or she owns. This regulates the amount of dogs that can be held for breeding and to keep the area clean and safe enough for all the dogs involved. Scientists have been looking for ways to save koalas and frogs, but they do not all work. Therefore, there are many similarities and distinctions between the problems for frogs and koalas. As a matter of fact, there are not too many similarities between the problems for these animals. Nonetheless, there is one major thing that has caused both of these animals to be endangered species, and that one thing is the work of humans. Without a doubt, humans specifically play a crucial role in killing off frogs and koalas around the globe. Several apparitions throughout the play affect Macbeth and the evil forces destroy his morals. The super natural represents Macbeth s internal guilt and struggle. Three examples of this in Macbethare when Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo, Macbeth sees a bloody knife before he kills Duncan and it is pointed toward Macbeth s chambers, and Lady Macbeth sees hallucinations that her hands are bloodstained. In Macbeth, Shakespeare uses the world of visions, hallucinations, and ghosts to develop important theme of how power drives people to commit unnatural actions of destruction and violence. Come, let me clutch / thee / I have thee not, and yet I see thee still. / Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible / To feeling as to sight? The exterior of the museum, in my opinion, was a very cool be modelled after Roman architecture. After entering in the lobby, I found it to be very orderly and the security gave me a sense that the museum was heavenly guarded. After walking around the interior of the museum, with security guards in every room, I found that it was just as great as the exterior. The interior was amazing because each room was wide and each paintingor sculpturewas organized by country and artist making a very order museum atmosphere which allowed viewers to think about the artworks. Another thing about the inside of the museum was that each room was painted and lighted to not clash with the artworks in the room, allowing viewers from all around the world to see the true beauty of the artwork without the room messing up their perception of the paintings or sculptures. The first of the paintings I going to write about is the AllГ©e at Schloss Kammer. The AllГ©e at Schloss Kammer is an oil painting which was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1912 making it one of his late works. Two major points of the manifesto explain how class relationships are defined by an era s means of production. If those two points are not followed then a revolution occurs and a new class emerges as the ruling one. This outcome represents the march of history which is driven by economic variables. Communism was viewed as such a scary topic for most of history and it was interesting to read about it. I am not sure why the author came up with these ideas. I do know that he was the basis for the idea of communism. Throne Of Blood Movie And Book Comparison Essay Throne of Blood by Akira Kurosawa tells the story of a Japanese soldier who, after hearing a prophecy told to him by an evil spirit, kills the Japanese king to assume his role. The film has been hailed by many as the greatest rendition of Shakespeare s Macbeth of all time, surpassing even direct reenactments of the classic in fidelity. Despite the fact that not a single line of dialog is shared between the two works, Akira Kurosawa has managed to capture the essence of the original play in all its glory. However, that is not say that the Throne of Blood is a complete carbon copy of Macbeth. Although the film possesses the same basic storyline, Kurosawa s rendition of Macbeth has a set of unique qualities that separate it from the original Shakespearean story. The same goes for Roman Polanski s Macbeth, which, although slightly deviating from the original story, can be considered a direct performance of the play. The argument of which play is better... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Throne of Blood takes place in Japan, during a bloody civil war that seems may never stop. Much like Macbeth, the movie tells the story of two men who meet a spirit in the woods who tells them of their future. However, the themes present reflect differently in this rendition. Rather than being centered around betrayal and ambition, most of the film s themes relate to the necessity of loyalty or an honor of sorts, a trait that was much desired by many Japanese soldiers at that time. This new loyalty centered theme can be seen vividly in the many scenes between Washizu and his wife, Asaji. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth taunts her husband s manhood in order to propel him to commit murder. This action is in line with European thought at that time, where courage was the most desirable of traits. Said themes are made evident in this quote; the scene in Macbeth preceding Duncan s ... • 31. Impact Of Force On The Community Nicholas Palmer 7/29/15 Course Project Impact of Force on the Community Introduction: The use of force is often under scrutiny in todays world. With cameras always focused on the negative actions of those in law enforcement it is difficult for the public to understand several things. First off, what is it like to be a police officer, what is it like to have the power to legally take a life when deemed necessary? What is it like to have to use force and possibly deadly force to control a situation? Many people do not see the world of law enforcement in this way, many just see a senseless shooting, or a beating. Now I will admit this does happen, but it is rare. However when the media portrays the police force in a certain light it can take years for the departments affected to recoup the losses within the community. Misunderstood use of force in recent conflicts like Ferguson, where an officer shot an assailant who had just committed a robbery and assaulted him, can be spun and sensationalized both on purpose and subconsciously to make a bad guy out of the officer. In the Ferguson case I believe false eyewitness accounts and false accounts being used as credible sources caused the community and nation to riot against the department, city, and county officials. These actions fueled by the mass media coverage caused weeks of unrest and community turmoil. However what is force? Also how does it impact the community? Use of force is defined in 7 levels, and used in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Testing Frequency Distributions ( 314 Words ) Testing Frequency Distributions (314 words) Using the NCOVR_US_HOMICIDES data I investigated the distribution of female headed households and family poverty to see if the data was normally distributed or not, this was the issue that the research question and hypotheses focused on. H1 Family poverty is skewed compared to a normal distribution H2 Family poverty is not skewed compared to a normal distribution The Chi squared test has certain requirements in terms of the minimum expected population for each category. The data did not meet these criteria, meaning that the chi squared test in this circumstance would be inappropriate. To avoid such issues, the nonparametric Kolmogorov Smirnov test was used in preference as it has less rigorous data requirements.. The positive skewness values for FP89 (1.285) indicate that the sample is positively skewed compared to a normal (Gaussian) distribution, with a long right tail. The kurtosis value is 2.013, compared to a normal distribution which would have a Kurtosis value of 0.00. Thus, the test has indicated that the distribution of both samples is substantially more peaked than would be the case for a normal sample distribution, this means that the null hypothesis should be rejected and thus that family poverty is skewed compared to a normal distribution. This is likely to be the case because family poverty is likely to reach a tipping point beyond which it is unsustainable, possibly due to high values of poverty being deemed ... Structural Factors Of Homelessness Homelessness: Individual and Structural Factors Influencing This Wicked Problem According to recent research, homelessness affects between 150,000 and 300,000 Canadians a year (Cherner et al. 2017, 219; Gandermann et al. 2014, 341; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). This increase in homelessness began in the 1980 s following economic changes as well as shifts in government policy that lead to a reduction in supports for low income families as well as a decrease in affordable housing available across Canada (Gaetz 2010, 21; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). According to the literature, structural risk factors that contribute to homelessness are: transitioning from an institutional placement into the community, social policies such as a lack of affordable housing and the dismantling of national housing strategy, transferring the responsibility from federal to provincial governments, and discrimination (Gaetz 2010, 22; Piat et al. 2015, 2368). By acknowledging these structural risk factors as contributing alongside individual factors, a social ecological viewpoint proves effective in preventing homelessness (Piat et al., 2379). Malaria In Kenya Essay In Kenya, an African country that is affected by Plasmodium falciparum, the most aggressive of the four species of malaria, the negative economic impact of malaria can be clearly seen. Malaria related GDP losses reached 2 6% of the total economic output of the country, with 58% of those losses being in the agricultural sector and 7% in the industrial sector (Chima, 2003). When workers or their children contract malaria, they are unable to go to work, work effectively, or spend money on things other than treatment (Chima, 2003). In other words, malaria acts as a drain on both the productivity of a country, as often there is no other person available to take the place of the absent worker. Furthermore, the costs of finding alternates to replace workers who have fallen ill, or must take care of their children is placed squarely on the shoulders of businesses, while the individual who contracted malaria, or must care for someone who has malaria is unable to both earn money for their absent days, as well as spend money in areas other than the treatment of malaria, thus stimulation only a small portion of the economy, and effectively blocking the circulation of funds in the economy to their fullest extent (Chima, 2003). The Sunni Muslims believed that the leadership should be granted to the person with most experience.
