Pinewood Hotel in order to gain a better insight onto how aspects of their website are
rated, and how it compares to their competitors. In addition to this, I will evaluate the
findings that were gained from the research method used by the researchers at
Pinewood Hotel.

The information used in this report was gained from several different sources. For
example, I have used information from my P4 survey, as well as my P3, M2
presentation and my M1 table of various data collection methods.

In terms of choosing my sampling method, I chose quota sampling. This is
because we chose to survey 30 people in total but divide the group into genders;
males and females. Therefore; 15 males and 15 females were surveyed. This was
an important sampling method to choose because it was quite accurate. It was less
biased as we decided to interview both genders, leading to varied results for our
market research team. We also chose to have quota sampling, because it was the
most efficient sampling method which gave us the most accurate information we
set out to find. I feel it was important to have more than one division; that being
males and females. This is purely because males and females have much diverse
views and opinions and also priorities such as; males being more interested in
booking rooms and assessing the online services, where the females would also
enjoy the online services, but would show more interest in the facilities available,
therefore it was quite key to find out how each gender progressed through the
surveys. I feel that quota sampling is much more accurate than other sampling
methods such as random sampling. This is because random sampling will leave the
researchers with a range of results, which will be harder to compare or formulate

The Scottsboro Boys And The Great Depression
On March 25, 1931, With the Great Depression gripping the nation after the stock
market crash of 1929, people jumped on to freight trains to travel from one city to
another city in hope to search for work. A group of whites and a group of blacks who
are later called the Scottsboro boys got in a fight on a train. The Scottsboro boyswere
defending themselves and they kicked the white group off in Jackson County.
Then, two women who were on the train were trying to avoid arrest therefore
falsely accused the nine black youths (who range from the age of thirteen to
nineteen years old) of raping them. The Scottsboro boys were then arrested with
assault and rape charges added against all nine of them after the allegations were
made by Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. It was a rousing allegation in the Jim Crow
South, where many whites were attempting to maintain power just 66 years after the
end of the Civil War.
On April 6, 1931, Trials begin in Scottsboro before Judge A. E. Hawkins. On April 9,
a judge sentenced the eight convicted defendants: Clarence Norris, Charlie Weems,
Haywood Patterson, Olen Montgomery, Ozie Powell, Willie Roberson, Eugene
Williams, and Andy Wright; are sentenced to death by electrocution. He declared a
mistrial in the case of the youngest defendant, thirteen year old Roy Wright ends in a
mistrial, after seven jurors insisted on the death penalty even though the prosecution

The use of irony makes this story enjoyable and lets readers understand Mrs.
Mallard s true feelings about her husband. The story begins with the irony that Mr.
Richard and Josephine, Mrs. Mallard s sister, were very cautious in telling Mrs.
Mallard the news of the death of her husband. However, they did not know that the
news will bring her happiness. It is ironic that her sister was afraid that bad news
is almost more than Mrs. Mallard could bear, but she did not know that this was
the happiest hour in Mrs. Mallard s life. Mrs. Mallard believed that there would be
no one to take control of her life. She repeatedly whispered by herself, free, free,
free (121). She felt as though, there would be no one to live for her during those
next coming years she would live for herself (121). At the end of the story, when
the husband returns suddenly, Mr. Richard thinks that extreme joy may affect her
trouble heart. Nevertheless, he did not know the return of her husband is not a
source of joy for her. The most ironic thing in the entire story is the very last
sentence. It reflects the opening sentence about Louise Mallard s heart affliction.
After she has seen her husband and is dead, the story closes like this: When the
doctors came the said she had dies of heart disease of joy that kills (122). The
doctor s diagnosis is that she died of joy. Actually, the shock and the
disappointment killed her because her husband s appearance took away the new
life which she expected. She didn t die from joy but from melancholy. In my
opinion, the death of Mrs. Mallard is truly ironic because right after learning the
news of Mrs. Mallard s husband death, i think that she will be free because she no
longer lives under the restrictions of her husband. However, the ending of the story
makes me so surprised. As a reader I would have never thought that Mrs. Mallard
would become free through her own

Portia in The Merchant Of Venice, has been considered as one of the most perfectly
developed female protagonist. The heiress of Belmont represents the nexus of the
play, as the quest for her hand creates a motive for Bassanio to borrow money which
