A Brief Note On Human Resource Departments Act
Abstract
Human resource departments act as a means to organize a business structure while managing its most
valuable resources. In the hospitality business, many would agree that a company s most valuable
resource is its employees. Despite a human resources departments many functions, benefits and
compensations tend to be what attracts employees to its potential employers. Regardless of the country
a company may be located in (e.g. Netherlands, Brazil, or the United States), benefits such as:
vacation, sick leave, overtime, etc. will always be relevant. Social, cultural, political and technological
factors may influence the way companies implement this segment with the guidance of the human
resource department, but it is a company s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, the Law does require family or maternity leave for up to twelve weeks of unpaid time, in which
the job position will be held until the employees return. However, the DOL does give the employer the
power to extend and/or increase these minimal standards among different circumstances. The
Netherlands is a country within the European Union, and therefore uses the Euro as its primary
currency. The Netherlands is ranked number one in the OECD data bank as the country with the
lowest average workweek, requiring only twenty nine hours per week (11 Organization for Economic
Co Operation and Development 2013). This is critical in the HR department because if the hospitality
world is a twenty four hour business. A country like the Netherlands would have to employ almost
double the amount of employees hired by the US in order to meet those standards. The minimum
wage in the Netherlands is also higher, but it does tax its employees heavily. On average roughly thirty
two percent of an individuals income is collected as tax, resulting in a higher minimal wage. For
adults over the age of 23 the wages are € 69.01 per workday, equating about forty seven thousand
dollars annually (13 Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment 2014). The Ministry of Social Affairs
and Employment regulates paid vacation days, paid sick days, and maternity leave.

Godly Education Essay
Through wisdom a house is builded; and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall
the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3, 4 Education is vital in life.
If we did not have education, no one would be able to do anything challenging with his or her minds,
unless trained by experience. This is what Plato knew thousands of years ago. He knew education
produced a balance and harmony of character. This education model is not seen in public education,
except in the classical model, which borrowed many of his concepts. This kind of education, however,
sought to bring out political men of who were capable to fight. As Christians, however, we should
always seek in our education to glorify God, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, he says, We shall persuade mothers and nurses to tell our chosen stories to their children and by
means of them to mold their minds and characters, which are more important then their bodies. Plato
goes on from the content to form. He calls poetry direct speech because the poet or narrator puts
himself in the position of the character speaking, in thinking his thoughts and feeling his feelings.
Plato firmly objects to this method. In Greek culture, it was the norm for a Greek student, when
reciting Homer, to throw himself into the story, delivering the speeches with the tones and jesters of an
actor. In this way, Plato was preoccupied with the mortal and theological aspects of poets because
from them the ordinary Greek man was expected to acquire his moral and theological notions. Plato
solves this dilemma by saying, If they (children) do take part in dramatic or other presentations, they
must from their earliest years act the part only of characters suitable to them men of courage, self
control, piety, freedom of spirit and similar qualities. Plato points out that music, of the Greek culture
represents the life of the listener. He states that music is the basis used primarily in the teaching of
harmony and discipline. Plato goes on to say, parents should instill good character qualities, since
children are easily impressed. This can be good or bad. Perhaps a child has loving

Describe The Relationship Between Russia And The United...
Vladimir Putin is the current president of Russia, he quickly became a dominant leader with his rise to
power. Before he came to power, he initially started out working in local politics and Russian
Intelligence. Putin first started in politics as working for Leningrad s first democratic mayor of the
city. This democratic mayor was Anatoly Sobchak, Putin was not very noticed by the people in the
city, he mostly worked behind the scenes but continued to stay loyal to Sobchak even after he was not
reelected. Putin was known for getting his authoritarian tendencies from Sobchak. When Putin
relocated to Moscow he quickly found a new position from the president of Russia at the time, Boris
Yeltsin, as the leader of the FSB. Yeltsin started as having Putin as the second highest ranking in
Russia, the prime minister, but then eventually, about six months later, Yeltsin stepped down and Putin

This was an appropriate policy of Putin s because it allowed for Russia to become known to the world

discuss the anti terrorist policies and what to do in regards to Syria and Ukraine. This helped to

was commissioned to carve the sculpture now known today as Pieta which was a statue of the Virgin
Mary holding a lifeless Jesus in her lap after his crucifixion. Returning to Florence Michelangelo had
become somewhat popular throughout the city. Taking on a project many other sculptures failed to

was so impressive with its humility and appearance it became a prized possession of the city of
Florence. More opportunities presented themselves before one of the biggest ones came along that

The Lower House Analysis
The United States Congress comprise two houses, one of them is the lower house known as the House
of Representatives, the upper house known as the Senate. These two chambers made up the legislative
branch due to the agreement of the bicameral legislature resulted from the Great Compromise in 1787.
The House represents the population, while the Senates are appointed by the Congress. Both started
new session on January 6, 2015. However, they have different majority leader; Kevin McCarthy was
the leader of the House of Representatives and Mitch McConnell was the leader of the Senate. People
who work for the lower house have to be fast because the representatives only have two year term. For
the upper house, people can work slower because of six year term; so the Senate can contemplate the
long term effects of laws. Two houses handle different responsibilities. The House of Representatives

which allows the House of Representatives to spend public money on national government. The
founding fathers decided that the House should have the power of spending public money because it s
closer to the public than the Senate. The Senate, the upper house, has an important role on
international relation. Even though the President can make foreign treaties, he President must have
Senate approval by two third votes in order to finalize the treaty to foreign nations. This was designed
so that the President has the opportunity to use counsel and advice from the legislative branch, as well
as involving in checking presidential power in order to make checks and balances

Chlamydia Urethritis
Chlamydia is a bacterial sexually transmitted disease caused by the pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis
that can be found in the mucous membranes of the genital region, the throat, and the eyes (Malhotra
2014). It is an obligate intracellular parasite that is gram negative and cocci. The pathogen is mainly
transmitted between sexual partners during sexual intercourse. However, if a pregnant female is
infected with the pathogen she can transmit it to her child during a vaginal delivery with the baby
passes through the mothers birth canal. Chlamydia trachomatis can cause urethritis in males and
mucopurulent cervicitis, urethritis, and endometritis in females (Harryman et al. 2014). Mucopurulent
cervcitis can lead to three main complications in women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if symptoms do occur, they are often times nonspecific. Women may experience abnormal
vaginal discharge, dysuria, and post coital or intermenstrual bleeding. Men may experience urethral
discharge and occasionally experience symptoms of epididymo orchitis, which results in pain and
swelling of the epididymis and testis. Men and women both can experience rectal bleeding at the
infection site (Malhotra et al. 2013). Signs of a Chlamydia trachomatis infection can be seen utilizing
different nucleotide amplification tests that are highly specific and can be used for non invasive
specimens including urine and vulval swabs (Malhotra et al. 2013). If Chlamydia trachomatis is left
untreated, it can lead to chronic asymptomatic infection, which as a result can lead to infertility in
females. Chlamydia trachomatis can lead to chronic inflammation of the Fallopian tubes in which the
pathogen is present in the tubal lumen which contributes to infertility (Svensson et al. 1985).
Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common etiological agent of acute salpingitis, an infection of the
fallopian tubes, which can cause a woman to have an ectopic pregnancy in which the egg implants
itself outside of the mother s uterus. If the ectopic pregnancy is left untreated the mother could
potentially die as a result of damage to the surrounding organs or loss of large amounts of
blood(Svensson et al.

The Rhetoric Of The Cuban Revolution
These last few lines are interesting for various reasons. First, it is a fine example of a message that
Castro often employs which is the sacrifice of the individual in favor of the betterment of the country
as a whole (Valdés 31). Part of the way to gain the people s support was to obtain Legitimacy derived
from service, not self interest (Valdés 31). Castro makes himself sound like a martyr as he talks about
the torture and belittlement he says he will endure while imprisoned. The historical experiences not
only led to this idea of painting self interest as bad, but also led to a way of legitimizing actions. The
last famous last line in which the title comes from actually was paraphrase of a quote given by José

It is a common criticism of the theory because many see it as not concerning itself enough with Latin
American countries. An example of this would be how the writers of The Empire Writes Back
identified countries who were seen as postcolonial when they wrote, So the literatures of African
countries, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Caribbean countries, India, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand,
Pakistan, Singapore, South Pacific Island countries, and Sri Lanka are all postcolonial literatures.
(Ashcroft, Griffiths, Tiffin 2). Only the mention of Caribbean countries signify the inclusion of Latin
America to the theory, and even then the countries are far outnumbered by the rest. There was also a
tendency of these authors to focus on former colonies of the British empire (Walden 61). However,
because this theory consists of such factors as trade and conquest and these former colonies reactions
to them there is a place for Latin America as a whole in the context of this theory. Countries such as
Cuba and Mexico, are still experiencing the effects of their history with colonialism and have used
writing as a way to obtain agency. This is seen through the discourse of revolutionaries like Castro and
Che, and later on from Subcommander Marcos. They use their respective country s history to further
their arguments and to justify

How Yom Kippur Is The Most Important Feast Of The Jewish...
Yom Kippur is the most important feast in the Jewish calendar. The Jewish people celebrates this feat
on every consecutive year. I chose to speak about the feast of Yom Kippur because it was inspired to
me by one of the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way (Carmen Hernandez). Hernandez had a deep
love of for the Jewish Liturgies especially the feast of Yom Kippur. Every single year the
Neocatechumenal Way in different countries has a retreat and in the retreat there is a special day
reserved for conversion(confession). On this day of conversion all the members of the
Neocatechumenal communities have to fast the whole day and feed themselves only with the word of
God(Bible reading) and at the end of the day they confess all their sins in a penitential celebration.
Hernandez always explained the relationship between Yom Kippur and the confession(penitential
celebration) for us Catholic, that is why I have a special love for this feast because I heard of it every
single year in the annual Neocatechumenal Way retreat. Another fact that pushed me to write about
Yom Kippur is that we are in the year of mercy. So my paper will be based on the history of the Feast
of Yom Kippur and Its origins and how it was prepared and celebrated among the Jewish. I will
describe how the feast is celebrated and I will show its values in the Jewish faith. I will show as well
how Jesus Christ celebrated the feast of Yom Kippur. Finally I will illustrated how Jesus fulfilled the
feast of Yom

Conflicts
Conflict means a struggle or problem between two opposing groups or individuals. There are two
types of conflict: internal and external conflict. An internal conflict is a struggle that is internalized
and deals with choices, consequences, or emotions. An internal conflict is a man vs. self struggle. An
external conflict is a struggle between the protagonist and another character against nature or some
outside force. External conflicts are either man verses man, man verses nature, or man verses society.
Various examples of internal and external conflicts can be shown in Guy de Maupassant s The
Necklace, Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game, and O.Henry s, The Gift of the Magi.
Firstly, Guy de Maupassant s The Necklace shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is put into a situation where he has to swim until he finds shelter. He swims, and for a seemingly
endless time he fought the sea (Connell 42). After a while, he found an island called Ship Trap Island.
So, this shows how he fought against nature. Another example of conflict in this story is when
Rainsford has to fight against General Zaroff, who is an expert at hunting humans on Ship Trap Island.
As Rainsford gets challenged by Zaroff, he says, Thank you, I m a hunter, not a murderer (49). This
shows an example of another external conflict. But, this one is a man verses man conflict because
Rainsford is facing a problem with another character in the story. Therefore, Rainsford faces many
situations where he has to choose between life or death. Lastly, examples of conflict can be shown in
The Gift of the Magi by O.Henry. This story is about a cute couple that is willing to do anything to
buy each other Christmas presents. An internal conflict faced by Della Young, the protagonist, is when
she does not have enough money to buy her husband Jim a present. All Della had was one dollar and
eighty seven cents. And the next day would be Christmas (O. Henry 153). To get more money, Della
sells her most prized possession, which is her hair. After Della and Jim finally bought their presents by
selling their most prized possessions, another conflict arose. Della bought Jim a chain for his watch,

Gender Socialization
Gender Socialization
Sociology 100
Before a newborn child takes his or her first breath of life outside the mother s womb, he or she is
distinguishable and characterized by gender. A baby is born and the doctor looks at the proud parents
or parent and says three simple words: Its a boy, or Its a girl The baby is brought home and dressed in
clothes that help friends, family and even strangers identify the sex of the child. Baby boys are dressed
in blue and baby girls are dressed in pink. The baby boy may be dressed in a blue jumpsuit with a
football or a baseball glove on it. The baby girl may wear a bow in their hair and flowered pajamas. As
the boy begins to grow, he is given a miniature basketball and a hoop to play with. ... Show more

Another aspect of everyday life that is highly influential in gender socialization is the media. What we
see on television or at the movies, what we read in the newspaper or in magazines, what we see on
billboards or hear on the radio are all very significant on how we form a opinion on gender identity.
Media publishers have very successfully learned to play to an audience and are extremely successful
in communicating with the audience they wish to reach. Advertisers are the biggest example of this
concept. Society is very apt in recognizing images seen in commercials and printed ads and viewing
them as socially acceptable behavior. For example, beer companies will target the twenty to thirty year
old male audiences and include scantily clad women enjoying their favorite beers. Ironically, popular
women magazines also use beautiful women to promote cosmetics and beauty products. Both
examples show the exploitation of female images in society. It is this societal ignorance that clouds the
mind and allows the images to continue to influence what we believe to be socially acceptable. And
when society is presented with something or someone out of the ordinary, which doesn t follow what
we deem to be correct, we rebel and try to modify it to our socially acceptable standards.
Imagine a baby born with no visible sex organs. Now imagine after some tests that there are no

Punishment In Crime And Punishment
Without suffering, there is no hope of achieving redemption. This idea is straightforward; no one
consistently achieves what they want without struggling in some shape or form in order to get it, and
redemption is the goal in this case. Dostoyevsky brings this religiously based concept into his novel
Crime and Punishment to show his readers how suffering is not only unavoidable but also a means of
achieving something. In Crime and Punishment, A Russian man known as Raskolnikov murders an
old pawnbroker and her younger sister. The work progresses to show that the motivation behind the
murder is, among other things, to test a theory that Raskolnikov has about what kind of man he is.
After an extensive series of subplots and nearly insane moral arguments with himself and those around
him, Raskolnikov turns himself in and finds religion and redemption in a Siberian labor prison. His
nihilistic ideas developed from his educational background and St. Petersburg s intellectual revolution
steer the protagonist in the direction of the murder, but his inherent morality and his labor camp prison
s religious tendencies push him towards the moment of spiritual rebirth that becomes the true meaning
of the work. In addition to including the world around him and his own life events throughout the
piece, Dostoyevsky fills Crime and Punishment with juxtaposition of characters, irony, and
foreshadowing in order to present the importance of suffering and hard labor as the only means to

The Entrepreneurs Satisfaction On Their Job
Overview:
In this paper, it indicates the entrepreneurs satisfaction on their job. To measure the job satisfaction, in
my opinion job characteristic theory is a key. Like article states, there are variety, identity, significance
that can measure the job meaningfulness. Also autonomy and feedback can define the job satisfaction.
In the article, money or pay is the most significant part that lead the satisfaction to entrepreneurs, more
money they earn, they feel satisfaction on their jobs. It reflect to the life satisfaction in the chapter,
high income increases living and improve the life quality. The life satisfaction owns the strong related

not a major key any more of job satisfaction.

Financial Statement And Financial Statements
Introduction A company s financial statements contain the true fiscal pulse of the company. If ever
there is a need to check the health of a company to see how strong or weak it is fiscally, the financial
statements hold the answers. These statements allow shareholders, lenders, and investors the
opportunity to assess a number of things about the company such as how it can grow it s customer
base, where it falls short at any particular time, and even how well the company is doing amongst it s
peers. Financial statements also provide key information regarding a company s accounting principles.
The purpose of this paper is to identify and assess each of the documents that make up a firm s
financial statements, which are, the income statement, the balance sheet, and the statement of cash
flows.
Income Statements The first of the important financial statement documents is the income statement.
According to our text (2014) the purpose of the income statement is to report the revenues generated
and expenses incurred by a firm over an accounting period, such as a quarter or a year. Essentially, the
income statement allows a general snapshot of what a company makes and spends for a specific
period of time. Harold Averkamp of AccountingCoach.com (2015) sums up income statements best
with, The income statement is important because it shows the profitability of a company during the

Classroom behavior management is considered to be one of the most important factors to determine
student s behaviors. With that being said, the study evaluated classroom behavior strategies that are
aligned with Positive Behavioral Interventions Supports (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). According
to research, the impact of SW PBIS has reduced problem behaviors and increased academic
performance. However, despite the increase of PBIS many teachers continue to struggle with
managing student behavior in the classroom (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). Often times
ineffective classroom management negatively impacts students behaviors in where they are given less
academic instruction. This is important because teacher s implementation of effective practices
becomes affected by their job demands. Teachers are therefore less likely to have effective
implementations if they are emotionally exhausted or lack self efficacy (Reinke, Herman Stormont,
2013). More importantly, if teachers implement PBIS in their classrooms with positive stated rules and
expectations they are more likely to praise their students and reduce behavioral problems. Whereas,
teachers with higher rates of student disruptive behavior are more likely to have lower self efficacy
and emotional exhaustion (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). By all means, support has to be given to
teachers in the field to protect children from having negative teacher student interactions. The study
underscores the necessity to access

Student Athletes For The University Of Ohio
Secondly, for student athletes who practice a sport and attend classes, it is often difficult to complete
both tasks. Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus and attend
their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for the
University of Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class was
pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student
athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports and
often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to complete
their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the necessary hours
they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this case, the poor
achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and do not have a good
nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that their bodies need. The
poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to tell their athletes that
they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts athletes in a barrier when
they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and completing homework
assignments and attending the games. Student athletes have a poor mental and physical body

Teamwork Promotes And Establishes Effective Communications...
According to Kinlaw (1991), teamwork is the way in which people must work and cooperate together
in order to produce products or services that could not be produced by a single individual. To this end,
teams appear to have a synergy effect, which implies that the total outcome that is produced by the
team is by far more than the equivalent result which the sum of the team s part would have had. By
and large, the formation of groups is very useful for the organization and its members, because they
perform important tasks. Johnson, Kantner and Kikora (1990) support the rationale of forming groups
through the following arguments: 1. Individuals within the team know each other well, thus deploying
confidence and trust, which results in cooperation and support. 2. Teamwork promotes and establishes
effective communications channels within the members of the team. Daft (1996) considers the
formation of teams as critical and immense for the effectual elaboration of a task, since teams: 1.
Encourage and promote creativity and innovation. 2. Are more effective problem solving devices as
opposed to individuals. 3. Enhance the dedication and commitment needed to implement the decisions
4. Provide greater opportunities for interaction and 5. Increase the coherence within their members.

Excessive Advertising of Junk Food is Adding Fuel to the Obesity Epidemic
I distinctly remember watching Fruit by the Foot commercials as a child. Not just what the
commercial showed, but the feelings it evoked in me. In the commercial, the boy unwrapped the snack
with a look of excitement on his face. He unrolled it and started rolling it up and down, as if it was a
yo yo. Then it was utilized as a jumprope. The boy danced around, using the snack as a prop. He flung
it up and down and all around him, his smile staying the whole time. Finally, he took a big bite of the
Fruit by the Foot, and grinned even wider. As a seven year old, I looked on in wonder. To me, that

This time accumulates when they re parents set them down in their playpen or bouncy and chair park

advertisements. The average child sees about 40,000 advertisements per year on television alone (
Television Advertising ). That s over 100 per day. Half of all of these ads directed towards children are
food ( The Impact of ). That means that those toddlers are seeing countless ads for snacks that they can
t even eat yet.
Unfortunately, these ads are usually detrimental. Almost ¾ of all food advertised to children is
considered to be unhealthy ( The Impact of ). There are next to no advertisements for foods such as
fruits or vegetables, but there is an overflowing abundance for junk food ads. These ads subliminally
influence the children to eat those unhealthy foods. In a study by Jean Weicha, PhD, it was shown that
an an hour of television causes 7th and 8th graders to consume about 167 more calories a day (qtd. in
Direct Link ). In addition, it was found that the children who watched the most tv also consumed the
most junk food ( Direct Link ). This jump in junk food consumption is why kids that watch more than
three hours of tv a day are 50% more likely to be obese than others that watch less than two hours (
The Impact of ). With how easy it is to be obese in our society, it seems downright reckless to increase
their odds by 50%.

Age And The Importance Of Voting In The United States
Although all Americans have the right over the age of 18, not all citizens vote because of four
common, yet relevant reasons. One s educational level, age, level of income, and prestige of
occupation determine if they will vote or not. First and for most, the education one has is the single
most important factor in predicting whether they vote. Although mostly, all American citizens know
they have the right to vote, they do not know how to get registered or where to vote. That does seem
like a poor excuse, considering we live in a technology based society and pretty much anything can be
looked up online. Despite the fact that some citizens truly do not understand the importance of voting,
some choose to not understand it. Secondly, age

Future Plans and Opportunities
Within the next five years of the company, we are putting forth a plan to achieve a catering
department. We want to be able to provide the planning and set up of the events that we offer, as well
as the food for our clients. Our plan is to lease a kitchen facility big enough to house our staff and
store our products while working out of the kitchen. During this five year goal, we plan on opening a
second branch in the Chicago Illinois area, while having our branch in Erie, PA still running.
Industry Analysis
The events industry is an ever growing part of the hospitality world. There is a bigger need for the
attention to detail than most people will think about, and event planners are trained to think about
these issues. Event planners have to be able to handle budgets that the clients will set for them while
still maintaining a high quality of service. The events industry is an ever growing business. There is
always something new that people will want and request at their parties. There is a big need for tight
budgets within the economy as well as some weddings that will be very extravagant.
Future Trends
Once our catering department is added to our company, we will start to look at the trends that the food
industry is currently providing. These trends will include things such as healthier options for courses
as well as smaller portions. These small portions will control the amount of food a person is advised to
eat, but we

The Effects Of Secondhand Smoke On Campus
It is critical to protect students and employees of universities from exposure to the perilous effects of
secondhand smoke. Efforts such as easily ignored no smoking signs or free Nicotine patches are not as
effective as anticipated; one must be motivated to quit smoking in order to actually quit. Therefore,
actions must be taken in order to efficiently transition into a tobacco free campus and ultimately
salvage the health of both smokers and nonsmokers on campus. By fall 2015, this university will
transition to a Tobacco Free Campus, which means that anyone who comes onto school grounds is
prohibited from using tobacco products to provide a healthy, safe educational setting and workplace
for both students and employees. With that said, the university is adopting a method introduced by the
American Cancer Society called The Great American Smokeout. However, the event will be renamed
Cut the Cancer Stick.
Students who smoke will be able to participate in this 24 hour challenge: a day on campus solely
dedicated to be supportive of our peers who may want to kick the habit of smoking but do not have the
support, motivation, or resources to do so. Since the American Cancer Society dedicates the third
Thursday of November to The Great American Smokeout each year, our first event will respectively
be held on November 20th, 2014. However, due to the fact that the university will be transitioned into
a tobacco free campus by this time next year, the university will hold

Antecedent Control Case Study
Part 1 Antecedent control procedures entail influencing some facet of the social or physical
environment to induce the desired reaction or to make an opposing undesirable behavior less likely. In
the case, a special education teacher is trying to teach a child with a severe intellectual disability how
to make accurate letter discriminations. To achieve this, the teacher decided to use food as a reinforcer
to make the child respond accurately in training sessions. Therefore, the teacher prevented the child
from eating lunch until he made correct letter instructions. He argued that if the child fails to eat lunch,
food would be a successful reinforcer. However, the antecedent control strategy used by the teacher
was wrong. Essentially, using

Essay The Elizabethan Monarchy
The Elizabethan Era was from 1533 (the birth of Queen Elizabeth 1) till 1603 (her death). Queen
Elizabeth was the one who was responsible for what happened to the country during this era. For
Queen Elizabeth, being part of the Elizabethan Royalty was a tough and challenging task. She played
an important role within the religious conflicts for power between England and it s neighboring
countries, had the constant pressure to produce a successor, and had to endure sexual discrimination
for being a woman on the throne of England without a male counterpart. After King Henry 8th s death,
there was a dispute over who should rule over England, Queen Elizabeth or Mary Queen of Scots.

These people were closely associated with Mary Queen of Scots for it included Mary s mother, Mary
of Guise. At the time the Guises had bigger problems to worry about than the Elizabethan throne. This
is when the Scottish Factor came into action. For Elizabeth s good fortune the Scottish Presbyterian
Church had despised Catholicism and therefore gave Queen Elizabeth their support of her claim to the
throne. With the support that Queen Elizabeth needed she was able to start planing a military
intervention to Scotland which would end up in a war with France. An intervention is the interference
by a country in another s affair. Elizabeth signed a treaty with Scottish rebels in which she agreed to
have an open intervention if the Scottish Protestant lords would protect Elizabeth in the event that the
French invaded. In March of 1560 war began and the months that followed France had threatened to
ally with Spain if England refused to surrender. It wasn t until thousands had lost their lives did the
religious war end with a treaty, the Treaty of Edinburgh. The treaty was signed July 6, 1560,
confirming Queen Elizabeth s right to the throne. It was through this struggle that Queen Elizabeth
was even able to get to claim her birth right. Her decisions did not only affect her country but also the
neighboring countries. The importance of a successor during the Elizabethan Era was tremendous.

The firm s profit maximizing output is less than the output associated with minimum average cost.
The firm s demand curve is not flat but is downward sloping. Thus in the long run the demand curve
will be tangential to the long run average cost curve at a point to the left of its minimum. The result is
excess capacity. Also according to Investopedia (2013), These types of firms are inefficient; it is
usually the case that the costs of regulating prices for every product sold far exceed the benefits of
such regulation. However, it would not have to regulate every product and every firm just the most
important ones. A firm could be said to be marginally inefficient because it produces at an output
where average total cost is not a minimum. This type of market is a productively inefficient market
structure because marginal cost is less than price in the long run. Markets are also inefficient as the
price given is higher than marginal cost. The competitive strategies the analysis recommends are as
follows: 1) Continue with plans to automate inventory and ordering systems, 2) Hire someone with
financial background to help Kathy, 3) Develop a website and ordering system, 4) Develop the
catering side of the business, 5) Finish site location for Carlsbad store, 6) Open Carlsbad store and

Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet
One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical
elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created.
The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other
works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the
popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection.
In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding
moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love
triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should
marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass).
However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is
rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass).
Much like The Selection, William Shakespeare s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, shows many of the
same characteristics. Juliet Capulet s predicament, paralleling America s, is that she was arranged to
marry a man named Paris, but she falls in love with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Viral Genetic Variation Lab Analysis
Title: Viral Genetic Variation Accounts for a Third of Variability in 1 Set Point Viral Load
Introduction: The extent to the pathogenesis of the human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1), or HIV
, has been studied for years. It is of large consensus to the medical community that any strong
predictor of the time showing phenotypic characteristics of HIV from the original transmission of the
disease can be predicted through assessing and evaluating the set point viral load (SPVL). Depending
on the subsequent viremia in the blood, biologists and medical professionals can strongly predict the
severity of the infection and future clinical outcomes.
The severity of SPVL is strongly associated with the genotype of the virus and its heritability ... Show

Researchers used a large data set of HIV genome sequences of over 2028 selected participants in the
study. Cohorts were broken down by age, sex, and mode of transmission. Using the data results, the
heritability of SPLV was calculated using common methods, which included the Brownian motion
model, parametric bootstrapping, and the OU model.
Results: Based on the SPLV of the sample size used for the study, it was determined that there is a
strong correlation between viremia and the genetic makeup of the virus with viral loads ranging from
20% to 30% with the cohorts in the study. Thus, up to 30% of the variation in viral load is explained
by the viral genetic variation. When looking at the cohorts CD4 (cells that the HIV virus kills), the
heritability cell count is 11%. This result shows that this percentage is determined by the virus s
genotype.
In addition, the hypothesis that inconsistencies of the varying heterogeneity of SPLV in different
studies were a result of differences in viral genetics, differences in the host s genetics, and calculation
error as a result of incorrect methods were examined. After an assessment of the results of the study,
and the different methods uses, it can be determined that the difference in SPLV heritability is not a
direct result of genetic differences between large populations. On the contrast, it was confirmed that
there is a significant variability in viral load of an

Describe The Origin Of Dj s
In the mid to late 1980 s, Dj s in Chicago began playing around with a Roland TB 303, a bass
synthesizer, using the machine in ways it wasn t intended for. After playing around, a genre called acid
house emerged in Chicago clubs. By 1987, London had caught onto house music and later introduced
acid house to the clubgoers. By the early 1990 s, organizations began holding raves in the UK at
warehouses or in fields, and new genres of house called happy hardcore and jungle became popular.
As genres grew, setting up shows became difficult. By 1992, raves in the UK started taking place in
licensed venues in order to avoid confrontation with law enforcement. Throughout the 1990 s house
music took off and new subgenres emerged in the rave scene (Simms). Just as punk music took hold in
New York from the UK in the 1980 s, raves and house music followed suit in the 1990 s. In 1992, DJ
Scotto put on the first rave in Manhattan, New York. One of the DJ s, Frankie ... Show more content

people go to raves, not only for the music, but also for the community raves provides. After attending
raves for the past couple years, I have learned that several ravers attend raves because they feel
accepted. Several ravers have a tough home life and at raves they feel free to act like themselves and
feel free from judgement. With a lack of a reliable family in their lives, these ravers tend to make their

Underbelly And Blackrock Analysis
Australian crime drama s such as Underbelly and Blackrock are constructed to represent groups from
Australian reality. These representations are designed to present ideas about groups, reinforcing what
the audience, typically Australian, already knew and thought without changing the audience s
perception completely. These groups of people are stereotyped, giving the audience a sense of reality
and at the same time engaging. The following essay will analyse the representation of the criminal
groups in the crime dramas of Underbelly and Blackrock. Blackrock is a screenplay written by Nick
Enright that explores the crime of rape and how teenage boys deal with there associations to the crime.
Underbelly is a hit TV drama that explores the streets of Melbourne during a time known as the
gangland war (1998 2004) in which 36 criminals and citizens were murdered. Underbelly explores the
mindsets and actions of the criminal calling and hiring the murders. The two dramas construct the
main criminals in different ways, but with the outcome being the same grotesque and evil characters.
Underbelly achieves this through the use of visual feature which characterises the criminals, the
perspective of the victims also is used to construct the criminals in Underbelly. Blackrock also uses
the perspective of the victims to constructs the criminals in the text but by being a play the use of
written conventions is dominant. A key difference between the two texts are the age of the criminal

Taking a Look at Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is a fairly common neurological problem and is a generalized term that means
that there is a disorder in the peripheral nervous system. Being that this is a broad definition and
includes many varieties and causes of peripheral nerve disease, a proper diagnosis is needed for the
definition to be specified. The overall prevalence of the condition is about 2400 (2·4%) per 100 000
population, but in people older than 55 years, the prevalence rises to about 8000 (8%) per 100 000.
(Simpson, 2010) Yet this does not include traumatic peripheral nerve injuries meaning that the number
of peripheral neuropathy in our society is greater. In first world countries, the most common cause of
peripheral neuropathy is diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases
characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both.
(Loganathan, 2006) Due to the fact that the diagnose of diabetes mellitus has increased in our general
population of the USA, the amount people in risk of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is also expected to
increase.
In our case we are dealing with diabetic peripheral neuropathy that results from nerve damage due to
the high blood glucose levels diabetics. About 60 to 70 percent of people who have had diabetes for
many years have some form of nerve damage, but not everyone has symptoms. (Inzucchi, 2012)
Common types of diabetic neuropathy are those that affect the limbs along with the

In the hospitality business, many would agree that a company s most valuable resource is its employees. Despite a human resources departments many functions, benefits and compensations tend to be what attracts employees to its potential employers. Regardless of the country a company may be located in (e.g. Netherlands, Brazil, or the United States), benefits such as: vacation, sick leave, overtime, etc. will always be relevant. The Netherlands is a country within the European Union, and therefore uses the Euro as its primary currency. The Netherlands is ranked number one in the OECD data bank as the country with the lowest average workweek, requiring only twenty nine hours per week (11 Organization for Economic Co Operation and Development 2013). This is critical in the HR department because if the hospitality world is a twenty four hour business. A country like the Netherlands would have to employ almost double the amount of employees hired by the US in order to meet those standards. • 3. Godly Education Essay Through wisdom a house is builded; and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3, 4 Education is vital in life. If we did not have education, no one would be able to do anything challenging with his or her minds, unless trained by experience. This is what Plato knew thousands of years ago. He knew education produced a balance and harmony of character. This education model is not seen in public education, except in the classical model, which borrowed many of his concepts. This kind of education, however, sought to bring out political men of who were capable to fight. As Christians, however, we should always seek in our education to glorify God, ... Thus, he says, We shall persuade mothers and nurses to tell our chosen stories to their children and by means of them to mold their minds and characters, which are more important then their bodies. Plato goes on from the content to form. He calls poetry direct speech because the poet or narrator puts himself in the position of the character speaking, in thinking his thoughts and feeling his feelings. Plato firmly objects to this method. In Greek culture, it was the norm for a Greek student, when reciting Homer, to throw himself into the story, delivering the speeches with the tones and jesters of an actor. In this way, Plato was preoccupied with the mortal and theological aspects of poets because from them the ordinary Greek man was expected to acquire his moral and theological notions. Plato solves this dilemma by saying, If they (children) do take part in dramatic or other presentations, they must from their earliest years act the part only of characters suitable to them men of courage, self control, piety, freedom of spirit and similar qualities. Plato points out that music, of the Greek culture represents the life of the listener. He states that music is the basis used primarily in the teaching of harmony and discipline. Plato goes on to say, parents should instill good character qualities, since children are easily impressed. This can be good or bad. Perhaps a child has loving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Rhetoric Of The Cuban Revolution These last few lines are interesting for various reasons. First, it is a fine example of a message that Castro often employs which is the sacrifice of the individual in favor of the betterment of the country as a whole (Valdés 31). Part of the way to gain the people s support was to obtain Legitimacy derived from service, not self interest (Valdés 31). Castro makes himself sound like a martyr as he talks about the torture and belittlement he says he will endure while imprisoned. The historical experiences not only led to this idea of painting self interest as bad, but also led to a way of legitimizing actions. The last famous last line in which the title comes from actually was paraphrase of a quote given by José Martí, who is a very important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a common criticism of the theory because many see it as not concerning itself enough with Latin American countries. An example of this would be how the writers of The Empire Writes Back identified countries who were seen as postcolonial when they wrote, So the literatures of African countries, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Caribbean countries, India, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Pacific Island countries, and Sri Lanka are all postcolonial literatures. (Ashcroft, Griffiths, Tiffin 2). Only the mention of Caribbean countries signify the inclusion of Latin America to the theory, and even then the countries are far outnumbered by the rest. There was also a tendency of these authors to focus on former colonies of the British empire (Walden 61). However, because this theory consists of such factors as trade and conquest and these former colonies reactions to them there is a place for Latin America as a whole in the context of this theory. Countries such as Cuba and Mexico, are still experiencing the effects of their history with colonialism and have used writing as a way to obtain agency. • 11. How Yom Kippur Is The Most Important Feast Of The Jewish... Yom Kippur is the most important feast in the Jewish calendar. The Jewish people celebrates this feat on every consecutive year. I chose to speak about the feast of Yom Kippur because it was inspired to me by one of the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way (Carmen Hernandez). Hernandez had a deep love of for the Jewish Liturgies especially the feast of Yom Kippur. Every single year the Neocatechumenal Way in different countries has a retreat and in the retreat there is a special day reserved for conversion(confession). On this day of conversion all the members of the Neocatechumenal communities have to fast the whole day and feed themselves only with the word of God(Bible reading) and at the end of the day they confess all their sins in a penitential celebration. Hernandez always explained the relationship between Yom Kippur and the confession(penitential celebration) for us Catholic, that is why I have a special love for this feast because I heard of it every single year in the annual Neocatechumenal Way retreat. Another fact that pushed me to write about Yom Kippur is that we are in the year of mercy. So my paper will be based on the history of the Feast of Yom Kippur and Its origins and how it was prepared and celebrated among the Jewish. I will describe how the feast is celebrated and I will show its values in the Jewish faith. I will show as well how Jesus Christ celebrated the feast of Yom Kippur. Finally I will illustrated how Jesus fulfilled the feast of Yom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Conflicts Conflict means a struggle or problem between two opposing groups or individuals. There are two types of conflict: internal and external conflict. An internal conflict is a struggle that is internalized and deals with choices, consequences, or emotions. An internal conflict is a man vs. self struggle. An external conflict is a struggle between the protagonist and another character against nature or some outside force. External conflicts are either man verses man, man verses nature, or man verses society. Various examples of internal and external conflicts can be shown in Guy de Maupassant s The Necklace, Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game, and O.Henry s, The Gift of the Magi. He swims, and for a seemingly endless time he fought the sea (Connell 42). After a while, he found an island called Ship Trap Island. So, this shows how he fought against nature. Another example of conflict in this story is when Rainsford has to fight against General Zaroff, who is an expert at hunting humans on Ship Trap Island. As Rainsford gets challenged by Zaroff, he says, Thank you, I m a hunter, not a murderer (49). This shows an example of another external conflict. But, this one is a man verses man conflict because Rainsford is facing a problem with another character in the story. Therefore, Rainsford faces many situations where he has to choose between life or death. Lastly, examples of conflict can be shown in The Gift of the Magi by O.Henry. This story is about a cute couple that is willing to do anything to buy each other Christmas presents. An internal conflict faced by Della Young, the protagonist, is when she does not have enough money to buy her husband Jim a present. All Della had was one dollar and eighty seven cents. And the next day would be Christmas (O. Henry 153). To get more money, Della sells her most prized possession, which is her hair. Another aspect of everyday life that is highly influential in gender socialization is the media. What we see on television or at the movies, what we read in the newspaper or in magazines, what we see on billboards or hear on the radio are all very significant on how we form a opinion on gender identity. Media publishers have very successfully learned to play to an audience and are extremely successful in communicating with the audience they wish to reach. Advertisers are the biggest example of this concept. Society is very apt in recognizing images seen in commercials and printed ads and viewing them as socially acceptable behavior. For example, beer companies will target the twenty to thirty year old male audiences and include scantily clad women enjoying their favorite beers. Ironically, popular women magazines also use beautiful women to promote cosmetics and beauty products. Both examples show the exploitation of female images in society. It is this societal ignorance that clouds the mind and allows the images to continue to influence what we believe to be socially acceptable. And when society is presented with something or someone out of the ordinary, which doesn t follow what we deem to be correct, we rebel and try to modify it to our socially acceptable standards. This idea is straightforward; no one consistently achieves what they want without struggling in some shape or form in order to get it, and redemption is the goal in this case. Dostoyevsky brings this religiously based concept into his novel Crime and Punishment to show his readers how suffering is not only unavoidable but also a means of achieving something. In Crime and Punishment, A Russian man known as Raskolnikov murders an old pawnbroker and her younger sister. The work progresses to show that the motivation behind the murder is, among other things, to test a theory that Raskolnikov has about what kind of man he is. After an extensive series of subplots and nearly insane moral arguments with himself and those around him, Raskolnikov turns himself in and finds religion and redemption in a Siberian labor prison. His nihilistic ideas developed from his educational background and St. Petersburg s intellectual revolution steer the protagonist in the direction of the murder, but his inherent morality and his labor camp prison s religious tendencies push him towards the moment of spiritual rebirth that becomes the true meaning of the work. In addition to including the world around him and his own life events throughout the piece, Dostoyevsky fills Crime and Punishment with juxtaposition of characters, irony, and foreshadowing in order to present the importance of suffering and hard labor as the only means to ... With that being said, the study evaluated classroom behavior strategies that are aligned with Positive Behavioral Interventions Supports (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). According to research, the impact of SW PBIS has reduced problem behaviors and increased academic performance. However, despite the increase of PBIS many teachers continue to struggle with managing student behavior in the classroom (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). Often times ineffective classroom management negatively impacts students behaviors in where they are given less academic instruction. This is important because teacher s implementation of effective practices becomes affected by their job demands. Teachers are therefore less likely to have effective implementations if they are emotionally exhausted or lack self efficacy (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). More importantly, if teachers implement PBIS in their classrooms with positive stated rules and expectations they are more likely to praise their students and reduce behavioral problems. Whereas, teachers with higher rates of student disruptive behavior are more likely to have lower self efficacy and emotional exhaustion (Reinke, Herman Stormont, 2013). By all means, support has to be given to teachers in the field to protect children from having negative teacher student interactions. The study underscores the necessity to access ... Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus and attend their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for the University of Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class was pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports and often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to complete their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the necessary hours they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this case, the poor achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and do not have a good nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that their bodies need. The poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to tell their athletes that they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts athletes in a barrier when they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and completing homework assignments and attending the games. • 22. Teamwork Promotes And Establishes Effective Communications... According to Kinlaw (1991), teamwork is the way in which people must work and cooperate together in order to produce products or services that could not be produced by a single individual. To this end, teams appear to have a synergy effect, which implies that the total outcome that is produced by the team is by far more than the equivalent result which the sum of the team s part would have had. By and large, the formation of groups is very useful for the organization and its members, because they perform important tasks. Johnson, Kantner and Kikora (1990) support the rationale of forming groups through the following arguments: 1. Individuals within the team know each other well, thus deploying confidence and trust, which results in cooperation and support. 2. Teamwork promotes and establishes effective communications channels within the members of the team. Daft (1996) considers the formation of teams as critical and immense for the effectual elaboration of a task, since teams: 1. Encourage and promote creativity and innovation. 2. Are more effective problem solving devices as opposed to individuals. 3. Enhance the dedication and commitment needed to implement the decisions 4. Provide greater opportunities for interaction and 5. Increase the coherence within their members. • 30. Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created. The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection. In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass). However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass). Much like The Selection, William Shakespeare s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, shows many of the same characteristics. Juliet Capulet s predicament, paralleling America s, is that she was arranged to marry a man named Paris, but she falls in love with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 31. Viral Genetic Variation Lab Analysis Title: Viral Genetic Variation Accounts for a Third of Variability in 1 Set Point Viral Load Introduction: The extent to the pathogenesis of the human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1), or HIV , has been studied for years. It is of large consensus to the medical community that any strong predictor of the time showing phenotypic characteristics of HIV from the original transmission of the disease can be predicted through assessing and evaluating the set point viral load (SPVL). Depending on the subsequent viremia in the blood, biologists and medical professionals can strongly predict the severity of the infection and future clinical outcomes. The severity of SPVL is strongly associated with the genotype of the virus and its heritability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Researchers used a large data set of HIV genome sequences of over 2028 selected participants in the study. Cohorts were broken down by age, sex, and mode of transmission. Using the data results, the heritability of SPLV was calculated using common methods, which included the Brownian motion model, parametric bootstrapping, and the OU model. Results: Based on the SPLV of the sample size used for the study, it was determined that there is a strong correlation between viremia and the genetic makeup of the virus with viral loads ranging from 20% to 30% with the cohorts in the study. Thus, up to 30% of the variation in viral load is explained by the viral genetic variation. When looking at the cohorts CD4 (cells that the HIV virus kills), the heritability cell count is 11%. This result shows that this percentage is determined by the virus s genotype. In addition, the hypothesis that inconsistencies of the varying heterogeneity of SPLV in different studies were a result of differences in viral genetics, differences in the host s genetics, and calculation error as a result of incorrect methods were examined. After an assessment of the results of the study, and the different methods uses, it can be determined that the difference in SPLV heritability is not a direct result of genetic differences between large populations. On the contrast, it was confirmed that there is a significant variability in viral load of an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Describe The Origin Of Dj s In the mid to late 1980 s, Dj s in Chicago began playing around with a Roland TB 303, a bass synthesizer, using the machine in ways it wasn t intended for. After playing around, a genre called acid house emerged in Chicago clubs. By 1987, London had caught onto house music and later introduced acid house to the clubgoers. By the early 1990 s, organizations began holding raves in the UK at warehouses or in fields, and new genres of house called happy hardcore and jungle became popular. As genres grew, setting up shows became difficult. By 1992, raves in the UK started taking place in licensed venues in order to avoid confrontation with law enforcement. Throughout the 1990 s house music took off and new subgenres emerged in the rave scene (Simms). Just as punk music took hold in New York from the UK in the 1980 s, raves and house music followed suit in the 1990 s. In 1992, DJ Scotto put on the first rave in Manhattan, New York. One of the DJ s, Frankie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the year, ravers attend events either indoors or outdoors, having the time of their life, whether at a small venue with a tight knit crowd of familiar people, or large venue with thousands of new faces. While raves might seem like the place where people go to listen to fast paced music and dance all night, the love is everywhere says Patrick Welch, a raver from Portland, Oregon. Several people go to raves, not only for the music, but also for the community raves provides. After attending raves for the past couple years, I have learned that several ravers attend raves because they feel accepted. Several ravers have a tough home life and at raves they feel free to act like themselves and feel free from judgement. With a lack of a reliable family in their lives, these ravers tend to make their own rave families . Individuals in these families tend to look out and support one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Starbucks provide Formal education like workshops and short courses for their employees. As a Barista, he might want to take up management course to prepare himself for further promotion to supervisor or store manager. Secondly, assessment. Assessment is to provide employees with feedback about their performance based on information collected. In Starbucks, 360 degree feedback is used to assess employee s performance. Barista will do self appraisals and other employees such as store manager, supervisor, peers and even customers may give appraisal to the barista. The barista will then compare his own appraisal with other to find out what are some of the place needed for improvement and start developing in that area. Thirdly, job experiences. • 34. Underbelly And Blackrock Analysis Australian crime drama s such as Underbelly and Blackrock are constructed to represent groups from Australian reality. These representations are designed to present ideas about groups, reinforcing what the audience, typically Australian, already knew and thought without changing the audience s perception completely. These groups of people are stereotyped, giving the audience a sense of reality and at the same time engaging. The following essay will analyse the representation of the criminal groups in the crime dramas of Underbelly and Blackrock. Blackrock is a screenplay written by Nick Enright that explores the crime of rape and how teenage boys deal with there associations to the crime. Underbelly is a hit TV drama that explores the streets of Melbourne during a time known as the gangland war (1998 2004) in which 36 criminals and citizens were murdered. Underbelly explores the mindsets and actions of the criminal calling and hiring the murders. The two dramas construct the main criminals in different ways, but with the outcome being the same grotesque and evil characters. Underbelly achieves this through the use of visual feature which characterises the criminals, the perspective of the victims also is used to construct the criminals in Underbelly. Blackrock also uses the perspective of the victims to constructs the criminals in the text but by being a play the use of written conventions is dominant. A key difference between the two texts are the age of the criminal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Taking a Look at Peripheral Neuropathy Peripheral neuropathy is a fairly common neurological problem and is a generalized term that means that there is a disorder in the peripheral nervous system. Being that this is a broad definition and includes many varieties and causes of peripheral nerve disease, a proper diagnosis is needed for the definition to be specified. The overall prevalence of the condition is about 2400 (2·4%) per 100 000 population, but in people older than 55 years, the prevalence rises to about 8000 (8%) per 100 000. (Simpson, 2010) Yet this does not include traumatic peripheral nerve injuries meaning that the number of peripheral neuropathy in our society is greater. In first world countries, the most common cause of peripheral neuropathy is diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. (Loganathan, 2006) Due to the fact that the diagnose of diabetes mellitus has increased in our general population of the USA, the amount people in risk of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is also expected to increase. In our case we are dealing with diabetic peripheral neuropathy that results from nerve damage due to the high blood glucose levels diabetics. About 60 to 70 percent of people who have had diabetes for many years have some form of nerve damage, but not everyone has symptoms. (Inzucchi, 2012) Common types of diabetic neuropathy are those that affect the limbs along with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
