A resurgence of rising nationalism in recent years has prompted a slew of trade protectionist policies
defending against the perceived threat to national sovereignty by trade globalisation. Recent trends in
trade demonstrate a shifting reliance towards bilateral agreements and regional trading while shrinking
away from multilateral participation. This implementation of nationalist trade protectionism has in

As a matter of practice, nationalism frequently entails the implementation of policy which seeks to
reclaim national resources from foreign groups, and redistribute those resources to the nation s citizens
or government. This may be achieved through trade protectionism practices: where governments
intentionally safeguard domestic industry from foreign competition, usually through policy regulation
including tariffs or import quotas. By contrast, globalisation prioritises the exchange of goods and
services, the interaction of people, and the sharing of information and technology across nations as
enabled through domestic policy and international agreement. The prosperity of any nation is therefore
intertwined with the prosperity of others, creating an environment of the shared pursuit of national
interest, which fosters the sharing of success between nations through communal global growth.
B Modern Resurgence of Nationalism
The WTO has warned that the recent global increase in nationalism may threaten the global economy
more than any time in recent history, stating that as long as global economic weakness persists,
protectionist pressure will build and could eventually become overwhelming . As economic stagnation
continues, both dominant and emerging economies are now implementing policy designed to
safeguard against the employment losses, high ratio of capital outflow, and foreign exploitation which
threaten to undermine their national economic interests.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Supply chain management is a major concern in many industries as companies realize the importance
of creating an integrated relationship with their suppliers and customers. Managing the supply chain
has become a way of improving competitiveness by reducing uncertainty and improving service. One
aspect of successfully managing the supply chain requires that a company understand their logistical
strategies and practices.
Personal interviews with logistics managers employed by firms from the Twin Cities Round Table
suggest the following issues are important to supply chain management.

What Does The Ballad Of Flannery Street Mean
The Ballad of Calvary Street by James K. Baxter is a poem used effectively in order to develop the
key idea of appearance vs.reality. This idea is developed in the poem to reinforce idea of Baxter s
underlying dislike for modern suburbanised society. He struggled throughout his life to understand
modernized society. Growing up as a Catholic, he eventually came to an epiphany and realised the

These types of imagery helped readers to understand the misinterpretation of the Baxter family and
how dull the suburban life really is. The first religious symbol is in the title of the poem Ballad of
Calvary Street. This is ironic because Calvary Street is the street which Jesus walked to his place of
crucifixion, therefore having this street name as the title of the poem suggests that the street is not a
nice place to live. Another religious image James K. Baxter created throughout the poem was hammer

Differences Between Early China And Qing Dynasty
Early China and the Qing Dynasty are not too different from each other. Which is surprising,
considering they Early China is at the beginning of recorded history for China and the Qing Dynasty is
the last dynasty to rule. Although, gender equality can be considered the same for both societies, they
are actually different since the Qing Dynasty started to change during the end of its reign. Both Early
China and the Qing Dynasty went through major changes in history. Early China is the beginning of

They could learn to read, write, do math and farm work. Women, on the other hand, were looked
down upon. They were only taught housework like: Sewing, cooking, taking care of the children, and

The oppression of women by society has never been a secret. Many times it has been documented in
works of literature, and one classical example of this occurrence is I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie
Olsen. This story illustrates the consequences of oppression in women s lives.
The story leads the reader on an exploratory journey to witness the neglect by Emily s extremely
guilty mother. This is described by the children s cry when they are left with strangers, lacking
attention and love due to the fact she is a single parent at a time where this was not commonly
accepted in the community, causing a lot of emotional distress.

There is irony in this story in that it begins with a nineteen year old Emily, the same age of the mother
at Emily s birth, I was nineteen. It was the pre relief, pre WPA world of depression (Olsen, 368). The
societal changes and different expectations for women are illustrated through the description of Emily
as a single college student and assertive, while her mom was a product of the 1930 s, uneducated,
forced to work very young to make ends meet.
While Emily has the advantage of a contemporary upbringing, she is still vulnerable and fearful as an
adult, as she was a lonely, sick and unpopular child. When she finally came I hardly knew her,
walking quick and nervous like her father, looking like her father, thin, and dressed in a shoddy red
that yellowed her skin and glared at the pockmarks (Olsen, 368).
In many ways, the mother has control over Emily s destiny, which seems to relinquish weakly. For
example, she didn t have to bear other children, knowing she was struggling with Emily, emotionally,
physically, and financially. It seems as though she didn t even give her new marriage time to develop

American mascot continues to ignite debate and controversy among athletes, fans and alumni, as well

Thus, it seems odd to suggest that naming a team after an Indian tribe is a calculated insult. A team or
school embraces a mascot that represents the favorable traits and characteristics of its members. Such
is the case with the Florida State Seminoles, who are named after a tribe with its origin in that
southern state. The Seminole tribe optimistically favored the use of the Indian mascot and even
facilitated the design of authentic dress that is proudly worn at sporting and community events.
Similar to the Seminoles, the University of Illinois preserved their mascot, Chief Illiniwek, for almost
80 years. Named after the indigenous Illiniwek tribe, the Chief was a customary sideline figure at
football and basketball games until 2007 when the NCAA forced the University of Illinois to remove
this historic mascot. Unfortunately, the collegiate governing body failed to realize what this symbol

Free Art The First Amendment speaks on the freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly and
petition; so important, they found their place in the US Constitution. Even with these freedoms
meaning so much to the majority of America, somehow today we still encounter differences in
political and religious views that seem to provoke people to act violently against a piece of art or even
physically against the artist that created it such as in the recent case of artist Illma Gore. Often the
violent action of destroying a work of art is more offensive than the image itself. We should allow
artists free reign of subject matter as well as style and work together to prevent art desecration and
violence through education of the arts. Censorship is the result of the fear of art. When the fear of art
turns into iconoclasm or, rejection of a valued belief system, that fear becomes lack of government
funding, desecration, and physical violence.
Visual artists fell through the gaps and did not receive federal support for their work until the creation
of the NEA or National Endowment for the Arts in 1965. This federal program had little funding but
proved a growing interest in art and art viewing from the public. This demand for art creates a demand
for funds to support venues and museums so they can keep their doors open. A problem with the NEA
is that they provide government funding, which prevents them from being biased about
