The Legacy Of Alexander The Great
Sparse historical figures stand out like the man Alexander the Great. He became a
warrior by the age of sixteen and was a king at twenty. He did things during his
existence that others could only envisage about. Alexander was a man who was
both wrathful and compassionate depending on the day. He single handedly
transformed the tide of the world in a little over a decade, and inadvertently may
have shaped how the entire world has grown. I believe he perfectly exemplifies the
qualities of a person whose leadership and legacy has had great effect. Alexander
the Great was born in June in 356 BCE in the ancient capital of Macedon known as
Pella. He was the first son of Philip II, the King of Macedon and Olympia, the
Princess of Epirus. Alexander gained his father s astonishing organization skills and
his mother s vehement disposition. When Alexander was young his mother told him
that Achilles was related to him and also his father was a descendant of Hercules ;
hence influencing him to memorize the Iliad and always have it at his side.
Alexander exhibited marks of valor and potency at an incredibly early age. His
mother and father saw the aptitude for their son to be a great leader, and therefore
hired Aristotle as his private instructor. Aristotle and Alexander studied together at
Mieza, a temple near his palace. Alexander ascertained philosophy, political
knowledge, and ethical values at the hands of Aristotle. Alexander thought of
Aristotle as a father figure, and it can
High Bar Grips Research Paper
In NCAA Men s Gymnastics, grips are the one piece of equipment that every
gymnast needs in order to be successful in the sport. The only two genres of men s
gymnastics grips are ring grips and high bar grips. Although they both have a
similar function, they vary in certain aspects of their design in order to allow the
athlete to have his best possible performance on the different events. Gymnastics
grips, despite the differences between the two genres, both serve the same purpose
for the athlete using them. All grips are made of leather and wrap around the wrist
of the gymnast using a Velcro strap and/or a leather buckle. A strip of leather goes
from the wrist of the gymnast to the tips of his fingers, where his fingers go through
holes that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
High bar grips are not only a bit wider but also have three holes for the gymnast to
insert his fingers, while ring grips only have two holes and are not as wide. This is
due to the fact that there is more friction between the hands of the gymnast and the
high bar than there is on rings, which means that the high bar grips need to be
wider in order to protect the hands more than is need on rings. There is less friction
on rings because the rings are able to move freely with the gymnast s hands so that
his hands are not actually moving around the apparatus but rather with the
apparatus, while the high bar is stationary and the gymnast s hands are actually
moving around the bar causing much more friction. Furthermore, ring grips are
also not as wide as high bar grips because the rings are curved. Hanging on the curved
rings with grips that are too wide would make them bend, causing them to rip more
easily or not be as effective for grip and hand protection. This is not a problem on the
high bar because the bar is flat and level, allowing the grips to be a bit wider and still
lay flat. While ring grips are not as wide as high bar grips, they are a bit longer, and
they have a slightly larger dowel as well. This is due to the fact that a gymnast s
hands do not move on the rings, so they are able to use longer
Plant Sets And Its Effect On Our Lives
Part A The results were conclusive and differed slightly from previously
expectations with the plants germinated with an absence of light growing on
average 17.975 mm per day compared to the plants with exposure to light growing
6.965 mm less at an average of 11.01 mm per day. This trend was evident
throughout the duration of the experiment however as the investigation continued
it was clear the growth of both plant sets was beginning to decrease and slow. As
shown in graph 2.0 and table 1.0 on day 15 the plants grown in the dark had
reached a height of 175.9 mm and by day 17 they had only grown 1.475 mm and
reached a height of 177.375 mm, compared to the growth between day 8 and 9
when the plants grew by 44.375 mm, a 48% increase, nearly doubling its height of
47.85 mm on day 8. The heights of both sets altered from each other for most of the
experiment expect for day 10 when the heights only altered by 0.891 mm with the
plants in the dark having a average height of 108.125 mm while the plants with
light had reached a height of 108.944 mm. Part B The results of part B were also
conclusive but were as to be expected with both plant sets increasing in mass. The
original mass of a individual seed was 0.036 grams with the total mass being 0.3
grams. The plants in the dark had a 833.33% increase with the individual weight
being 0.3 grams while the plants grown with light exposure individual mass of 0.4
grams and a 1111.11% increase. Meanwhile the total mass of the seeds
Concussions And Sports
Some people think sports are beneficial but others think they are dangerous.sports
are overrated. Sports are unsafe for kids because concussion, recovery of a
concussion and Sports are expensive.
For example, how you recover from a concussion. Doctors did studies on football
players that had a concussions every player or person heal at a different rate . When
you have a concussion early Activity can and will slow your healing . Problems with
memory and concentration . This means you should ask the coach to sit and rest.
Sports are too expensive example parents estimated $671 annually on sport related
activities, most of the money goes to football . The parent has to pay 4 to 5 fees like
coach fees, meet fees and equipment fee . This
Grades
Grades in the realm of education are standardized measurements of varying levels of
comprehension within a subject area.
Grades can be assigned in letters (for example, A, B, C, D, or F), as a range (for
example 4.0 1.0), as a number out of a possible total (for example out of 20 or 100),
as descriptors (excellent, great, satisfactory, needs improvement), in percentages, or,
as is common in some post secondary institutions in some countries, as a Grade
Point Average (GPA). GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a
student earned in a given period of time divided by the total number of credits
taken.[1] The GPA can be used by potential employers or further post secondary
institutions to assess and compare applicants. A ... Show more content on

This was done primarily for the students benefit, since they were not permitted to
move on to the next level until they demonstrated their mastery of the current one. It
was also the earliest example of a narrative report card.
With the passage of compulsory attendance laws at the elementary level during the
late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the number of students entering high
schools increased rapidly. Between 1870 and 1910 the number of public high schools
in the United States increased from 500 to 10,000. As a result, subject area instruction
in high schools became increasingly specific and student populations became more
diverse. While elementary teachers continued to use written descriptions and
narrative reports to document student learning, high school teachers began using
percentages and other similar markings to certify students accomplishments in
different subject areas. This was the beginning of the grading and reporting systems
that exist today.
The shift to percentage grading was gradual, and few American educators questioned
it. The practice seemed a natural by product of the increased demands on high school
teachers, who now faced classrooms with growing numbers of students. But in 1912 a
study by two Wisconsin researchers seriously challenged the reliability of percentage
grades as accurate indicators of students achievement.
In their study, Daniel Starch and Edward Charles Elliott showed that high school
Microsoft Windows And Remote Procedure Call ( Rpc )...
Microsoft Windows was attacked via buffer overflow in August 2003. The attack,
known as the Blaster Worm, focused on an already recognized buffer overflow in
Windows remote procedure call (RPC) facilities. RPC is specific to the Windows
operating system. The vulnerability was in Port 135 which handles transmission
control protocol (TCP) the language in which a system communicates in. Port 135
did not require authenticationabout a server it was communicating with. Therefore, the
Blaster Worm was able to inundate the port with data, in turn, injecting malicious
code into the system. By exploiting this vulnerability in Port 135, the Blaster Worm
would install itself on a computerand immediately seek out other susceptible
computers. Once infected, the Blaster Worm permitted individuals or an entity to
take a myriad of very damaging actions from executing programs to giving others
hackers full access to resources and information. Additionally, the Blaster Worm had
the ability to instruct a newly discovered susceptible system to download the worm
so that the infectious cycle would continue (Hoogstraten, 2003). The antidote to the
Blaster Worm virus came in the form of a patch issued after it infected an estimated
100,000 Microsoft Windowssystems and cost millions in damage (Bailey, Cooke,
Jahanian, Watson, Nazario, 2005). Unvalidated input is tainted input. Input into a
web application can be received from the client/customer, a database, web server, or
Thin Layer Chromatography
Chromatography techniques are one of the most useful methods available for the
separation or isolation of organic compound from a mixture. The most common used
chromatographic technique includes column chromatography, thin layer
chromatography (TLC), etc. The purpose of this lab exercise is using the gel
filtration chromatographyto separate different proteins from a mixture. Collecting
elutes (run off), and calibrating a curve to show how the column separates
molecules by molecular weight, and identify the molecular weight of the proteins.
The sample mixture used in this lab contained Blue Dextran that has a size of 2x106
Da, and has blue in color. Cytochrome C has a size of 13,000 Da, pink in color.

It is very important not to let the bed run dry during any part of the experiment
because the pockets of air in the bed will cause uneven flow of molecules through
the column. Next, 13 clean, dry cuvettes were collected and labeled 0 to 12. 1mL of
water was measured by the P 1000 cuvette and was transferred into the cuvette that
labeled 0 in order to measure the amount of fraction that we will collect. The sample
mixture that included Blue Dextran, Cytochrome of was obtained and was measured
250 ОјL by using the P 1000 pipette. Then, the 250 ОјL was carefully transferred into
the column that already packed. Add the mixture by placing your pipette against
the wall of the column so as not to disturb the bed. The mixture was allowed to
enter the bed, close to the bottom the bed (about 1 cm) by opening the stop cock .
Then, about 15 mL of buffer was added into the column. 3mL of buffer added
slowly each time to prevent the overflow and avoid disturb the bed. 1 mL fractions
were collected into each cuvette until there is no color present in the last fraction. 1
mL of fraction was measured by keep the #0 cuvette contained water next to the
cuvette that you want to measure. After, collecting the fraction, the fraction was
analyzed and recored the color and the intensity. Each fraction was given the number
based on the scale 0 5 based their color. The bigger number the darker color they
have and more intense. All the waste was discarded to appropriate waste
Everyday Use Summary
Life has its Ups and Downs
To start, in Everyday Use characterization shows up in many different ways and
how each character is described. The three main characters that stood out the most
are Mama, Dee, and Maggie. Throughout the story Mama is the narrator and tells
the story about her life and her children. Mama describes herself as In real life I am a
large big boned woman with rough man working hands (744). Also, Mama says I
can kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man (744). This shows that Mama isn t
petite woman and demonstrates her ability with strong work ethic such as a man
with his strength to get the job done. Furthermore, Mama talks about television show
and how sometimes I dream in which Dee and I are suddenly brought together on a
TV program of this sort (743). This represents her want for her ... Show more content

Mama said I never had an education myself (745) but Dee went off to college. This
demonstrates how times were different and now Wangero does not want to be held
back by old times. Also, because she is independent and intellectual and doesn t want
to be embarrassed by her family. To emphasize, Maggie character shows her being
described as lame animal perhaps a dog run over by some careless person rich
enough to own a car. (744) This shows how Maggie isn t educated with having any
potential. Also, Maggie is an introvert and does not like to talk except to Mama.
Wangero insults her sister by Maggie brain is like an elephant (747) which is
saying she stupid. Then Wangero brings up the quilts and talks with Mama and
Mama said I promised to give them to Maggie, for when she marries John Thomas.
(748) Dee states Maggie cannot appreciate these quilts (748) She probably be
backward enough to put them to everyday use (748). This represents again how
Maggie is viewed as not bright person to not be able to have the

Mya mentioned they ve yet to find a place for operations. Don drove around until

College Textbooks
The prices of college textbooks have increased more rapidly than tuition, health care
expenses, and lodging fees. All of these have elevated beyond inflation
(huffingtonpost.com). Students around the nation have been facing the daunting task
of deciding whether or not to buy a textbook or take a class. Why is this even
happening? The textbooksthat professors are assigning can cost at least two to three
hundred dollars (huffingtonpost.com). Along with tuition, housing fees, and other
expenses, students are now paying outrageous amounts for textbooks. Textbooks
should be free to collegestudents because the prices are outrageous, there are high
consequences for opting out, and there are ways to give students free books.
Since January of 1977, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David Anderson, chief director for higher education at the Association of American
Publishers, said that this report is highly distorted and biased . He also said that
comparing online open source content with textbooks is not fair (Cost). Anderson
may be right, but in the long run, America s college students are going to be paying
millions of dollars just for textbooks. There are not many effective alternatives.
Digital textbooks may be an option, but right now, not everyone has access to a
computer or cell phone. Therefore, students have to face the consequences of costly
textbooks.
Along with high prices come high consequences. The extreme prices of textbooks
have caused some students to skip out on the appointed book. Educators get to
choose the book of focus, and the paying student has no choice but to buy that book,
or risk a low grade by opting out. (ksl.com) In fact, some students are sharing book
content with peers, illegally downloading material, and some have just gone without
Difference Between Service Quality And Customer
Satisfaction
Introduction:
Service quality represents a fundamental aspect of delivery, which strongly
influences consumer satisfaction and, as a result, loyalty. In today s global market
a customer s service expectation has to be met and exceeded eventually in order to
retain customers as well as achieve success. Perceived quality of a product or a service
is becoming one of the major competitive factors in the business world and has led
to the innovation of the Quality Era (Peeler, 1996). In simple words, the comparison
of customer expectations with service performance is service quality. On the other
hand, customer satisfaction is defined as a pleasurable fulfilment response toward a
good, service, benefit, or reward (Oliver, 1997). Both of these ... Show more content

Sureshchandra, Rajendran and Anantharaman (2002) identified five critical aspects
of service quality from the customers point of view namely core service/service
product, human element of service delivery, systematisation of service delivery,
tangibles of service and lastly social responsibility in order to conceptualise service
quality. Table 1 will further provide an explanation to the five critical aspects of
service quality as outlined by Sureshchandra et al (2002).
Table 1:
SI.no.Critical FactorsExplanation of the critical factors
1.Core service or Service productBasically means the content of a service.
2.Human element of service deliveryRefers to all aspects that fall under the domain
of human element in the service delivery namely reliability, responsiveness,
assurance, empathy, moments of truth, critical incident and recovery.
3.Systematisation of service delivery: non human elementThe procedures, processes,
systems technology that would make a service a flawless one.
4.Tangibles of service servicescapesThe manmade physical environment
(servicescapes) or the tangible facets of the service facility (equipment, machinery,
signage, employee appearance etc.)
5.Social ResponsibilityEvery organisation has an obligation to act to benefit the
society at large in an ethical framework. This helps in maintaining and developing the
organisations image and consequently influences the customers overall evaluation

seen advancements in the media aspect (VHS, DVD s, and television), cell phones

would be DVD s. DVD s have expanded so much since their release in 1996, they
have become more detailed, high def, and affordable compared to other
technology costs. During this research I will try and help you learn the history of
the DVD, the knowledge of how DVD s were created, and the different types of

of them being made or when they were actually produced? Not many, we know that
they have been around for years and have progressed in different types of DVD s

Summary Of Inherit The Stars By James P. Hogan
Throughout Inherit the Stars, the author James P. Hogan utilizes hidden symbolism,
profound philosophy to hint at the idea of critical pluralism. As Sir Karl Popper
stated, Critical Pluralism is the position that in the interest of the search for the truth
... should be allowed to compete with all other theories. He suggests a universal truth
can be accepted when one theory has more evidence than the every other theories
provided. This is directly linked with the Lunarians throughout the novel. Hogan
moves the idea of evidence to argue the truth is subjective to a certain degree and the
truth will always be redefined as more evidence is brought to the table, especially
when a theory contradicts already established paradigms. The more substantiated
argument always gains more recognition when... Show more content on

This idea backed up with firm evidence went strictly against previous data and
evidence that alluded to the contrary, which pointed to the Lunarians could never
have existed on Earth. Several quotes from Hogan throughout the novel can
analyzed and recognized as philosophical, such as The trail behind this rapid
succession of new developments was ... littered with the abandoned carcasses of
dead ideas, (Hogan, pg 133) and Lights burned through the night at Houston ... as
the same inevitable chains of reasoning were reeled out again and yet again, the
same arrays of facts scrutinized for new possibilities or interpretations. (Hogan, pg
149). The quotes shown above parallel with Popper s idea of critical pluralism, and
how people hold on and believe in one solid truth until it is shattered and replaced
with a more substantiated truth. In particular of this novel, it is difficult for the
scientists to agree with one universal truth since both pieces of evidence are

Personal Statement On The Field
When I was on a softball team a few years ago, me and my teammates would
communicate through the essentials of communication which are process, meaning,
and symbolic communication both on and off the baseball field. In example, when
we are on the field, we communicate in procedural ways in order to reach a goal. We
were engaging in action when we were practicing and using our knowledge when
implementing a strategic plan on how we would play the different opponents we
faced especially in crucial games. My teammates were all different races so we all
had different cultural backgrounds. There were people on my team who were of
American, African American, Asian, Lebanese, Puerto Rican, and Dominican
descent. Therefore, my language was constantly changing when communicating
between my Hispanic and American teammates. Our interpersonal competence and
determination to win depicted the outcome of our games. However, most of us
shared the same desire and effort in helping each other learn and grow with the team.
Before our games would begin, some teammates practiced different ways based on
their cultural roots. For instance, some Dominican teammates would practice their
hitting skills by playing a game that is popular in their country. The game consisted of
a long thin stick longer than a bat and thinner than a ruler. The balls that was used to
pitch to the hitter was the shape of a hockey puck only smaller and thinner. This
technique is mainly used to improve hitting skills and
The Garbage Of Trash Garbage
Community Trash Pickup Trash, also known as litter is a very big concern
everywhere in the world. Litter is nothing but a piece of waste or rubbish that has
been disposed improperly, without consent and at wrong location. Littering simply
means throwing away objects on the ground or leaving them lying on the ground
instead of disposing them at garbage can, recyclingbin or trash container. (What is
Litter? ) It is very concerning that there are only a few people who would like to
make a change within their own community. The trash laying alongside the
highways is very distracting, it makes you want to stop and pick it up. Many
people who feel such a way decide that they need to come up with a plan that could
get their community involved. The environment that we live in needs to be treated
better, if only humans could take a second look at what it actually does look like.
There are so many ideas and ways trash could be taken care of instead of just being
disposed alongside the highways, on the streets, or anywhere else it does not
belong besides in a garbage can. It is very disappointing that many people do not
even care at all that the mother earth is very trashy. However, there are a few good
people out there who take their time to keep their community looking nice and clean.
It is surprising when you do notice the few places that you travel by are clean. Some
ways that a community can get motivated in trash pickup would be to start off with
your friends who
Questions For The Group Discussion
Two Questions for the group discussion:
Inside a church, a pastor has flipped a verse of the bible to accommodate polygamy.
Consulted by a business millionaire, the pastor ransacked the bible and finally arrived
at a verse to support the holy matrimony. Quoting Isaiah 4:1 the pastor joined the
notable influential member with three women . Does the text Isaiah 4:1 justify the
polygamous wedding?
During the discussion, which follows the presentation, the group was amazed at the
shocking photo of a man franked with three women in their weeding attires. The
scenario in a sociological dimension prompted the geographical background where
the wedding could have happened. It is assumed that most Christian communities
view polygamy as an abominable act, which presumably does not conform with most
biblical canons. For some geographical areas, it is illegal and punishable by law,
particularly in western society; yet it is acceptable in some countries and shockingly
among faith communities.
The expression that the Pastor flipped a verse of the Bible to accommodate polygamy
, could be inferred that the pastor was either desperate for the man s money or that
he was afraid of losing his membership in his church; and so, he was ready to do
anything to keep his buoyant church member. However, for charity sake, we do not
know the bigger picture of what really happened or what might have moved the
pastor to succumb to the risky demand. Sociologically his society allows it otherwise
Ufo s Being Extra-Terrestrial Or Of Natural Phenomenon
Applying the TEST formula The TEST formula will be applied to assess the theories
of UFO s being extra terrestrial or of natural phenomena such as reflection of sunlight,
mirages, the northern lights, and any other unknown natural occurrences.
Step One: Checking for consistency The theory that unidentified flying objects (UFO
s) are extra terrestrial is consistent with the belief that flying saucers are aliens to
planet Earth. UFO s sightings from around the world are consistent because nothing
else on earth resembles a flying saucer or an aircraft with no wings.
Step Two: Assessing the evidence UFO sightings have been reported by numerous
individuals, as of June 24, 1947, and have been continuously documented since then.
The doubt and distress of the significant portion of the public and Government has
been inconclusive to determine if UFO s are authentic with extra terrestrial beings or

Novak, Professor of English Literature at the University of California, examines
the life of Defoe and constantly links Defoe s life experiences with Robinson
Crusoe, Moll Flanders, Colonel Jack, and Roxana. This book serves as a
comprehensive biography of Defoe supported with many other extensive research.
The author is not reluctant to criticize Defoe s writing with additional resources.
However, this book shows to give different details when compared to Richetti s
edited collection of The Cambridge Companion to Daniel Defoe. Overall, this book
will give a background for the research as a foundation of Defoe s development as a

Compare and Contrast Pope Francis vs. Pope Benedict XVI
Essay
I would like to compare/contrast Pope Francis vs. Pope Benedict XVI. During his
first year in office, Pope Francis has become one of the world s greatest social
innovators. Many have celebrated Pope Francis as a spiritual leader, diplomat, and a
politician. Pope Francis is a leader to start something new by launching a global
campaign against hunger. Using social media, such as YouTube, Pope
Francis sent his
message out to elect a day, December 10th, for a world wide rally. Additionally,
Pope Francis is known for sending out tweets @Pontifex. By the use of social media,
the Pope has captured attention all across the globe. Take for instance the time Pope
Francis washed the feet of Muslim women in prison. Bloggers went wild with photos

Sometimes the things that have been forgotten can be viewed as new by reminding
us of what is important (Watson, 2013). Pope Francis actions reflect a social
innovator and some may call intrapreneur (Dearing, 2014). The definition of
intrapreneur is a person within a large corporation who takes direct responsibility for
turning an idea into a profitable finished product through assertive risk taking and
innovation (Pinchot, 2010).
Pope Benedict business goals
As of January 20, 2013 Pope Benedict has 12,739 followers on Twitter.
In his 2009 encyclical, Pope Benedict XVI conveys issue about the international
economic system and its overemphasis on benefit at the price of individual and group
needs. Without question, one of the biggest threats for companies is that they are
almost specifically responsible to their traders, thereby restricting their public value.
The pope s solution to this situation is not only government control of companies, but
the development of new business designs where human and group results are
regarded an integral aspect of the main point here. In many ways, he explains
substitute companies that are aspect of the quickly growing solidarity economic
system.
Brand Effectiveness
Pope Francis was encountered with a church experiencing loss of client involvement,
reduction in attendance, and in some marketplaces adverse business development.

Warrior Poetry Research Paper
The phrase de opresso liber , the motto of the U.S. Army Special Forces,
encompasses the goal of all who serve. A phrase simply meaning to liberate the
oppressed . Those who serve have been known as heroes, patriots, and warriors.
Those who serve both domestically and abroad. Serving on and off the clock.
These people are called warrior poets. Warrior poets are those whose souls are
ignited by a higher purpose, their minds sharpened by depth of thought, and their
hands ready to do horrible violence in the defense of others, while being lovers of
both truth and people, and defenders of them both. Being able to be compassionate
and make decisions for themselves is a key trait of warrior poets. The phrase sua
sponte meaning of their own accord , the motto of the U.S. Army 75th Ranger
Regiment, is an important asset to have while facing opposition. They find peace in
their thoughts. Going through details of a mission, creating obstacles to challenge a
new tactic, reminiscing on the past, calculating the present, and predicting the future.
Being able to think of every possible situation and having the ability to respond to
every single one is an important skill that is occupied by all warrior poets. They lead

They exemplify the characteristics that make up the best in a person. The ability
to protect, serve and be at peace is extraordinary. Thoughts keep them alert and
ready for whatever needs to be done. They are fierce aggressively and fierce

to getting the objective completed without losing their fight or spirit. They are also
determined to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Warrior poets are those
whose souls are ignited by a higher purpose, their minds sharpened by depth of

enough to make it through ( One Direction Biography para. 2). Louis Tomlinson s
auditioning song for X Factor was Hey There Delilah ( X Factor para. 3). Louis
Tomlinson got through auditions with yes from all three judges ( X Factor para.

but clearly his was more impressive than Harry s ( The Truth para. 5). Zayn Malik
also received a yes from all three of the judges ( The Truth para. 11). The first time
Liam Payne ever auditioned for X Factor was when he was just 14, sadly he was
sent home in the judges houses ( The Truth para. 7). Liam Payne decided to return
back to X Factor a few years later and auditioned with the song Cry Me a River ( X
Factor para. 3). After Payne s audition, for the second time, he was rewarded with a
standing ovation from the crowd ( X Factor para. 3). Payne received yes from all
three of the judges ( The Truth para. 8). According to the article, Liam returned with

Q 1 Briefly explains following designing requirements that are required when
designing the hardware and software infrastructure:
Ans: Infrastructure in everything that helps in the flow and the processing of data.
Infrastructure provides a platform for all necessary IT applications and functions for
the individual or any organisation. Every infrastructure that is designed or worked on
will need to meet unique requirements. Storage requirements: It is influenced by
transaction growth rate and data distribution requirements. Disk space capacity:
Storage requirement depends like how much space is already being used by the
database data files and how much more should be added for transaction log files,
portion of tempdb that helps in database activities and full text index or reorganisation
of index. Disk throughput capacity: Storage requirement can be known by the
access of I/O rate according to the database requirement. The IOPS and space
capacity is inversely proportional to each other. Hence the disk capacity isn t going to
go up if the I/O operation per second goes up. Location and roles of database servers:
Also according to the roles and location of the database servers the storage

Violence In The Novel
Violence is essentially a motif in the novel. The novel is set through the narration of
Fowler the main character and we only get to see what he thinks and sees. Fowler is
the not the most reliable character because the novel is set through his flashbacks,
because we know Alden Pyle is dead from the start of the novel. The fact that
violence is present throughout the novel means that Foster is experiencing, enacting
or not stopping the violence. Violence has a toll on Foster because he starts to feel
guilt towards the acts he committed. Greene wisely uses Foster as the main character
because Foster is known for writing the truth and Greene makes it evident by writing

Essay on The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West
The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West
In The Day of the Locust, Tod Hackett undergoes an internal development relative
to his migration. Tod, an architect living in Connecticut, moves out to Hollywood
to build scenery for movies. Yet, once he moves, Tod is transformed into a
lethargic, non artist who can no longer create his own drawings on paper. His
surroundings drive these changes, as all characters in the novel are depicted in a
similar fashion. Tod becomes one of the grotesque as well, laughing at the disturbing
rather than the humorous. These new features signal Tod s incapacity to return to his
old self, as he constantly suffers from his migration. This comes full circle at the end
of the novel when Tod is led away from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Tod blames this on inertia, as it is becoming easier and more natural for him to do
the same things every day in LA. Only when an external force motivates him, like
Abe Kusich s plans for moving do, does Tod actually move anywhere. By the end
of the novel, Tod wonders if he himself [does not] suffer from the ingrained, morbid
apathy he [likes] to draw in others (141). Here, Tod coalesces with the other
apathetic Californians; he becomes one of them. These moments culminate in the
police car scene when first, the policemen carry him by force to the theatre
driveway, and then carry him off in their car. Tod is carried and lifted in this
instance; he performs none of the actions but instead, is the receiver of them.
Whereas in Connecticut, he took action in his life and studies, in Los Angeles, he can
do nothing but that which is done to him.
Tod s laughter after hearing the siren corresponds to the grotesque laughter that
signals his ultimate failure to recover. When first in LA, Tod views the houses around
him as comical: architecture lacking both beauty and romance. Yet, he finds it hard to
laugh at these truly monstrous buildings, instead exuding a sigh (61). The artist soon
meets Abe Kusich, however, who first laughs at his own joke, using a high pitched
cackle more dwarflike than anything that [comes] from him (63). Abe represents the
average Californian that Tod will
Pros Of Eugenics
As a trained nurse in the slums and tenements of New York I had been brought face
to face with conditions that made the so called sacredness of motherhood a term of
unspeakable irony. Pregnant women drunken husbands hungry children, children
born to a heritage of disease, filth, crime this was the order of that day. As one
pregnancy followed another, a family sank deeper into the mire. And always denied
contraceptive knowledge by their doctors, these women were driven to other means.
On Saturday evenings, they lined up before the office of a cheap abortionist, each
waiting her turn. You would tell us nothing, they seemed to reproach me (I knew
nothing to tell them), and here we are. All too often wrecked health and death
followed. Weighed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Birth control was seen as preventing events such as abortion and the cycle of poverty
if used responsibility. It gave power back to women. Conversely, the eugenics
movement is tainted with the distrust of women. A distrust that women would be
unable to be responsible over their bodies and the need for strict control over women
through legislation such as forced sterilization. While eugenicists may have supported
birth control, they did not view it as an effective enough practice to prevent the birth
of unfit children into American society. Eugenics wanted a long term solution to the
problem of unfit children, not a short term
Essay about Shi ite Sunni Conflict
Iraq and Iran have been subjected to a civil war since the seventh century (Murphy
1). This existing problem began because of political and theological divergence, but
with the help of outside forces such as Britain, Russia, and North America, it
developed into a more complex crisis. Many non Muslims believe the cause of the
Shi ite and Sunni violence originated from their religious differences. However the
differences in tradition, education, law, and religious practices are a small factor in
this escalating problem. The core of their faith is practically identical. Both factions
believe that Muhammad, their prophet, was the messenger of Allah. They also
believe that all Muslims must abide by Muhammad s teachings as outlined in their...

Ali shared the same blood as Muhammad. In their opinion, this made Ali holy. Shi

the next caliph. Shi ite remained under his guidance, but felt it was an

Sunnis. The Shi ite then began to act on their beliefs and some of Ali s dedicated
followers murdered Utham, bringing his reign to an abrupt end. In 656 A.D. Ali

death and were angry at Ali, for he had not brought Utham s killers to justice, one
of whom was Mu awiya, who had been the governor of Damascus and cousin of
Utham. When Ali was assassinated in 661 A.D., Mu awiya felt great pleasure in his
death and found his revenge in stealing Ali s old position; there was, yet again,
another Sunni leader. Mu awiya lead the Sunni Muslims through a prosperous time,
the Umayyad dynasty. This period of growth played a huge role in the power,
control, and population of the Sunni Muslims while the Shi ttes remained uninvolved.
In the year 661 A.D. many converted to the Sunni ways, for they were very
successful. During the Umayyad dynasty, the Shi ite continued to follow Ali s son,

The following readings are important for the literature review to meet the objectives
of the current study. Chevalier and Lu (2011) provided a comprehensive overview of
the china luxury market and its customer base. This reading also provides
considerable knowledge about the opportunities and challenges present in the Chinese
luxury market for international and Chinese luxury brands. The luxury brands are
facing problems and complexities in China due to implication of tax and other
regulations of the state. Despite very high growth rate, the luxury brands are facing
difficulties of evaluation and inappropriate organization in the supermarkets and
department stores of China. Lu (2011) explored the consumption of luxury goosd by
China s elite and their behavior towards these goods. The luxury products are
purchased for the personal pleasure and comforts. The luxury products that are used
in China are largely imported to the countries of United Kingdom and Spain. These
countries trade in the various luxury brands such as accessories, perfumes, cosmetics,
products, fashion clothes, footwear etc.
Okonkwo (2007) defiend luxury as the necessity that commence when necessity ends.

Life Of Pi Lifeboat Symbolism
Yann Martel s Life Of Pi has a story that has a message of how he lived during his
time on the lifeboat, and reveals the true Pi. The Tsimtsum, the boat he and his
family are travelling to Canada on, sinks, while Pi, Richard Parker(the tiger), the
zebra, Orange Juice(the orang utan), and the hyena, are the only survivors. All die
over time except for him and Richard Parker, which have territorial issues. They
then find a carnivorous island, full of meerkats. While Pi is feasting on algae, he
finds out what kind of animal Richard is, which he sees him devouring meerkats by
the dozens. Before he left, he found a tooth inside of a lot of leaves. He then lands
in mexico after he leaves that island, which as he was in mexico, he was interveiwed
by Japenese reporters, which he made up a different story because they did not
believe his origonal story. Yann Martel
s Life of Pireveals the importance of territory
through the raft, the lifeboat, and the whistle he uses to train Richard Parker.

Pi slowly trained and coaxed Richard into sharing the boat with him. As Richard
learned that Pi was trying to take care of both of them, he became more friendly
with Pi. I took hold of one of the beakers, leaned over, lowered the lid just as much
as I needed to and tremulously dipped the beaker into Parker s Pond, four feet from
his back paws. (Martel,92). This is an instance in which Pi is trying to get
rainwater to survive and he has to collect it from Richard Parker s tarp, which is
holding the water. He collects this, then finds solar stills to make the seawater
drinkable. Pi needs to be careful of Richard Parker while he is taking water from
him, although this is after he trained the tiger. This shows how dangerous at first the
lifeboat was with Richard on it, even if it was to help them both
U.s. Health Care System
The U.S. health care system is perhaps one of the most complex and plastic
industries present within the current world economy. With a projected market sector
value of $3,455.1 billion by the end of 2016 the U.S. health care providers market
represents a significant portion of the economy ( Research and Markets; Healthcare

position of management it is certainly an orthodox presumption that they incorporate
into their repertoire the tools necessary to survive in a constantly evolving
workplace. The purpose of this paper is to examine several emerging influences on
the U.S. healthcare system and what they mean for managers in the workplace.

Statistically better risk adjusted outcomes for the elderly are associated with better
performing teams with regard to interdisciplinary health care management when
considering a program. This of course means that implementing such teams is not as
much of a principle importance as making sure those teams are performing well. This
includes providing a robust program with diverse services in place at elderly care
centers to meet the many multifaceted healthcare demands of the elderly population.
While less progressive, PACE programs when compared to less restrictive designs are
associated with significantly less utilization of hospitals and emergency rooms
(Mukamel et al., 2007). Simply put, if a healthcare organization utilizes PACE as part
of their healthcare management for the elderly population they will reduce healthcare
costs on their health system by reducing the number of admissions to the emergency
room and hospital respectfully. This saves money by reducing the likelihood of null
reimbursement for hospital acquired conditions in elderly patients that may occur
during their hospital stay. Recently, Medicare stopped reimbursing hospitals for
avoidable conditions that can occur while a patient is admitted to a hospital. This can
include things like foreign objects left inside patients after surgery, various infections,
falls, pressure ulcers, and traumas.

prefer to work alone? Or do you prefer to work with a partner? If you choose to
work with a partner then the best business structure for you would be the partnership
structure. First you must ask yourself; do we have the same vision or objectives on
how to run the business? Are we able to communicate well with each other? Most
important question of all, do you trust this individual? If two of these three questions

Having discretionary time, more contacts, support and motivation is a big plus
when starting a business. The right partnership has these qualities. When one
needs time to spend with family and friends or even just to get the most important
things dealing with the business done, having a partner is a good ideal because
days or weeks can be rotated among the two. By bringing on a partner, you acquire
a new network of contacts and potential customers. If one partner was to died or
become physical impaired while in the partnership agreement the other partner can
take over the business completely or choose to sell the other partner s half of the
business (Price, 2012). With sole proprietorship if the owner becomes impaired or
dies the business can result in termination because there is no one to take over the
business (LaMance, 2013) If you are a team player, I say go for the partnership, but
talk things over with your potential partner before making any decisions. Now if you
choose to go in it alone with the sole proprietorship keep in mind that some investors
think businesses started under the sole proprietorship are less professional than any
other structure that consist of two or more people. Works Cited Partnership: Pros and

Critical Analysis Of Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like A
Mountain
Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like a Mountain (1949), was intended to convince the
public, through beautiful and eloquent language, that wildlife conservation is an
important implementation and that people should not be trying to make the world a
human centric ecosystem.
During his time, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist who believed in the longevity of
the land and that we should protect it, even if we must protect the land from
ourselves. While this was an unpopular opinion, realizing that the land and animals
naturally work together in a symbiotic relationship to protect one another was very
apparent to Leopold. He believed that humans should be doing our best to lessen our
impact on the environment. Time has caught up with Leopold s ideologies and it is
time that our efforts and contributions to the earth did too.
Gathering sympathy for a force known for causing harm to a resource that helps
and provides for humans isn t the easiest of things. Humans are known for
protecting their resources from harm and allowing them to flourish. By attempting
to make us sympathize with a force that kills off a valuable asset, Leopold also
expands and allows us to think beyond the current moment and current assets, letting
us see a bigger picture. A human centric mindset is very common in Leopold s age
and even in today s world. We, as a society, hold humans and our needs above those
of other animals, the earth and even other humans. We re always needing more to
sustain an unsustainable lifestyle and although we manage to acquire more resources,
we often do so without realizing the consequences of our actions on those around us.
Leopold s article Thinking Like a Mountain is not a persuasive piece filled with facts
and data. It is a personal story that uses passion and deep emotion, also known as
pathos, to let the reader see through his eyes for a split second. Forcing his point of
view to be seen to allow the public to sympathize. His word choice is mainly towards
those that are more emotionally charged rather than scientific words which imply a
choice in taking a more empathetic or emotional oriented route with his readers.
By using very intricate and ornate words to try and bring his readers into the story and

and religionstuffs are entirely personal issue. It depends on the person either he/she
will belief God, follow the religion or not. Even though both believers and

honestly tell them they need some guidance in life. However, if they are perfectly

The Problem Of Academic Procrastination
The problem of Academic procrastination
Sultan Alqahtani
Academic procrastination has quite often been a significant purpose behind poor
academic performance particularly among students who are academically competent
which is showed in a study done by Onwuegbuzie and Jiao (2000), where 95% of
students take part in academic procrastination in a school level while around 61%
hesitate at a graduate level. Notwithstanding students realizing that procrastination in
academics leads to poor performance, students infrequently attempt overcome stalling
and rather assert that the weight to perform empowers them to finish the assignments.
Procrastination comprises of the purposeful postponement of a planned game plan,
notwithstanding an attention to negative results (Steel, 2007). In this way academic
procrastination is characterized as an inclination to put off or postpone assignments
identified with one concentrates so they are either not completely finished by their
due dates or must be raced to be done. In short procrastination is putting off tomorrow
what ought to be done today. Procrastination however ought not to be between
replaceable with the word delay as it is not the same as deferrals, as postponements
have sound explanations for putting off something as contradicted with
procrastination.
There are various reasons in respect to why procrastination is common in students, in
spite of knowing the negative impact of doing as such, and they credit this to

The only cases state courts are not allowed to hear are lawsuits against the United
States and those involving certain federal laws: such as criminal, antitrust,
bankruptcy, patent, copyright, and some maritime cases. In the case of Jed,
Herman and Jane even though the robbery occurred in Washington D.C. the state
would be able to hear the case within the its jurisdiction even though they were
caught near the Canadian border after the crime was committed. If the F.B.I.
decides to take over the case regardless of where the crime took place then the case
would be heard in federal court. The case involving Jed, Herman and Jane when
they were apprehended all the found was $25,000 in cash which was recovered by
police it did not warrant for the F.B.I to take over the case because the amount

would have jurisdiction over a case. State courts handle by far the larger number of
cases, and have more contact with the public than federal courts do.

response to delays of court proceedings some states have adopted fast track which is

Ruby And Sapphire Character Analysis
Indeed, it can be argued that, since Ruby and Sapphire are in a romantic
relationship, there is no need to include other and different types of LGBT

Therefore, if, on one hand, the otherness of Rose as an alien is assimilated and

homosexual character condemns her to remain unhappy and alone. Still bound to

Consequently, everyone who has not watched the episodes in which Ruby and
Sapphire un fuse can legitimately be oblivious of the existence of a stable lesbian
relationship in Steven Universe. On a different note, it can also be pointed out
how Garnet s condition as fusion is still unsettling and unusual for Homeworld

making her incredibly uncomfortable. Even the character of Jasper is unable to
understand the relationship between Ruby and Sapphire because she can only think

Barack Obama s Presidential Debates
During the Democratic presidential debates on Tuesday, frontrunner Hillary Clinton
was backed by her fellow Democratic contenders, most notably, Sen. Bernie Sanders
(I VA), who remarked in response to Clinton s e mail flap, Let me say something that
may not be great politics, but I think the secretary is right. The American people are
sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015
/10/14/us usa election democrats idUSKCN0S70B920151014
This was an early warm moment between the contenders, but the debate turned crisp
at times while the contenders focused on an array of issues deeply impacting
Americans, including the economy, criminal justice, the environment, among other
leading issues.
However, despite the pass that Clinton received in the presence of her political peers
and media inquisitors, Clinton s characterization of the e mail investigation as benign
involving Clinton s candidacy may be a red herring. In the matter of government

The Importance Of The Spanish Language
There are over 6909 verbal languages spoken worldwide, not including other methods
of communication such as sign language. We all use language our daily lives to
express feelings, bring across ideas, and to communicate with one another. What
makes language so unique is that each one of them comes with their own culture,
customs, and significant meaning. Languageis so complex that a simple look or
gesture can send a faster message then speaking. In a Mexican American household
the language of Spanish is an important key to a Mexican familyrelationship. The
verbal language and non verbal communicationwithin a Spanish speaking family is
significant because it unifies the family and creates an unbreakable bond that only

This is significant because each family has their own unique word definitions and
customs. This is what differentiates one Spanish speaking family from another
because of this unique communication one can see strong family relationships. Tone
plays an enormous role in communication; it allows others to understand the
emotions of the speaking individual. Inside a Mexican American household it is
never quiet, there is always loud noises occurring that makes it difficult to speak.
This is why most families use loud tones to communicate around the house. This is
not done because they are mild tempered but rather to speak louder then their
surroundings. This makes it difficult to distinguish when someone is upset or
passive. The only way to distinguish an angry tone from a passive tone would be the
way it is expressed.
Body language is vital to a Mexican family, without emotion or the usage of gestures
communication would become difficult to understand. The engagement of movement
during conversation allows others to understand the tension of a situation. For
example, if someone is gossiping they will use more reactions of sudden shock or
disbelief. Parents tend to use their hands to demonstrate anger, especially when they
are holding an object in their hands to emphasize the importance of a lecture. When
one is engaging in a serious conversation it is subconsciously required
The Culture Of The Gullah People
Culture is an ever changing, ever evolving entity. Culture is something that for many
is taken for granted as they have always had that connection to their past. It is not
easily definable but it is an essential part of every nation s composition. American
culture itself is a conglomeration of several different cultures that make up a unique
and separate identity from each of the cultures it draws from. Everyone knows about
American Southern culture whether their perceptions of it is accurate or not. Fewer
know about African American culture in the south. Many people including some
African Americans themselves are not aware of the aspects of African culture that
were preserved and its influence on American culture as a whole. One major way in
which this type of influence can be seen is in the culture of the Gullahpeople. YOUR
INTRODUCTION DEFIENTLY GRABBED MY ATTENTION Who are the
Gullah people? The Gullah are an existing community of people who descended
from West African slaves and have managed to retain important aspects of their
African culture. These people can be found from the coast of North Carolina to
Florida otherwise known as the Low Country. Gullah people are also referred to as
Gullah/Geechee or Geechee. The main distinction between Gullah people and
Geechee people is that Gullah refers to those from the Carolinas and Geechee is
used for those from Florida and Georgia. This is in reference to the Ogeechee River,
therefore different terms were used to describe

It is common to see soldiers die in war, but the conflict between India and Pakistan
is no ordinary war. The conflict between India and Pakistan is so big they are
warning each other with Nuclear war impacted by physical geography. How has the
physical geography of Southern Asia impacted the conflict between India and Pakistan
since the 20th century? There are three major factors that are affecting the
relationship between India and Pakistan relating to geography. These three factors
are nature, history and religion that I will be writing about. One of the ways India
and Pakistan are in a conflict is because of religion and the geography of the region
has impacted religion.
Religion is in various places, in different atmospheres. Most people believe that
symbolism, beliefs are all shaped by the world we live in claims Elizabeth Bornman

locations where people may have been born could have impacted the religious beliefs
of those people. Making them believe their religion is the best.

Raja of Jammu and Kashmir to consider changing it to part of Pakistan according to
Suzane Martin (1),later on it was made official that India got Kashmir. Which later

religion. Pakistan is wanting still Kashmir and it is clear that geography is impacting

Graduation Speech And Components Of The 2013-2014
School Year
I was able to obtain and review my school FCAT scores and components from the
2013 2014 school year. We have yet to receive our FSA breakdowns. The scores we
received from the FSA was just 10th grade pass or fail. Reviewing the 2013 2014
FCAT scores and components reading produced the lowest scores for this
particular school year. I must say that even though reading produced the lowest
scores for that school year with an overall reading readiness component score of 85.
This was 9 point increase from the previous year, which was a 76. This shows that
our students are college ready and prepared to take both the SAT and the ACT test.
The performance objectives did meet the standards. Our goals and objectives are
aligned with college work and expectations. The objectives we use are clear, student
language friendly, understandable, and consistent. In our reading department we use
common board configuration, which means everyone in the department will have the
same goals and objectives aligned with common core standard in the same language.
We all are working on the same thing just maybe not the same way. Staying aligned
with the standard is very important because the standards are designed to ensure that
students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit bearing entry
courses in two or four year college programs or enter the workforce. The standards
are clear and concise to ensure that parents, teachers, and students have a clear
understanding of the
`` Alien Notion `` By Chip Rowe
Alien Notion by Chip Rowe was featured in The Playboy Forum in February 2003.
In this article Chip Rowe writes about the attempts of creationist to bring God into
public schools. According to Chip Rowe, after the Supreme Court ruled that
teaching biblical creationism in public school is a violation of church and state,
creationist have been divided into two groups. One group called young earthers
believe a literal interpretation of Genesis in the Bible, while the other group
developed a new way to sneak God into the classroom by creating intelligent designor
as Rowe describes it creationismafter a shower and a shave . The creationist behind
intelligent design avoid mention of Adam and Eve; instead they say any intelligent
being could ve designed it. He also states that religious right organizers utilized
grassroots lobbying efforts that gave intelligent design a legitimacy it didn t deserve .
The feud between creationist and scientist about the origins of the universe dates
back to the 20 s during the Scopes trial. Scientist are against creationism because
there is no evidence to support the theory. Scientist support Charles Darwin s theory
Darwinism, the theory that organisms evolve from simple to complex through minor
adaptations over time, because it has held up for more than a century. Rowe s article
expresses how he believes that creationist created intelligent design to take the place
of creationism in public schools after the Supreme Court ruled that
The Crisis And The Eurozone Crisis
In dealing with current EU hot button topics, solutions are as many and varied as
there are countries in the European Union itself. There are many aspects to a
countries point of view on such issues including location, history, economy, political
outlook, and so on. Because of these influences countries sharing similar histories,
locations, economic standings, and etc. band together to create voting blocs in order
to get their agendas pushed forward. This paper will discuss the viewpoints of
Albania, Bulgaria, and Romania with respect to the refugee crisis and the Eurozone
crisis as related by several meetings of representatives from each country. After
reading this briefing, Bulgaria citizens should be aware of our country s feelings...

With the help of the United Kingdom and other countries, this wall will be replaced

borders (BBM As an Alt. Route), though their job is to maintain order only.. If the
refugees manage to enter legally they are sent to one of three detention centers
where they are met with appalling conditions: filthy surroundings, overcrowding,
abject poverty, and no interpreters (BBM Legal Org). For those who enter illegally,
they often experience intense violence, getting beaten, shot, and/or killed by police
or even average citizens (Amnesty International). This hatred stems in part from
jealousy over the plight of refugees taking away from the troubles of impoverished
Bulgarians and in part from hatred of the Bulgarian Muslim/Turkish minority. When
the three countries came together on this issue a bit of push back was experienced
as views on the refugees range from open to unsure to closed. Albania has taken over
75,000 refugees already and they wish to take in more, but they cannot support any
more people economically. At this point, their Prime Minister wishes to close their
borders but they cannot afford to deploy their army and their
The Nature Of Power In Michel Foucault s Discipline And...
Within the present modern disciplinary society, which is dependent on invisible
power and surveillance, humans are constantly disciplined through a power structure.
Albeit, civilians are taught to internalize the intangible surveilling gaze that molds
them into efficient, operational products; though, brief unnerving feelings may
accompany the thought of constant, omnipresent observation. Although the words
power and discipline frequently come with an adverse connotation of punishment and
repression, they actually possess multiple productive uses in a variety of social
institutions and relations. In Michel Foucaults Discipline Punish, he discusses the
nature of power in society: how it can not only be used for discipline, but also
potentially implemented as a productive influence. Foucault did not view power as a
necessarily restrictive and repressive force on people; rather, it is an immanent
dynamic in all social relations. In addition, a panoptic structure could be beneficial to
all institutions of containment that depend on power and observation, including
prisons, schools, hospitals, and even animal captivity. This power does not need to be
implemented through forceful means: power can result from care, such as the
nurturing power established by supportive parental figures. Since I was given the
privilege of a smartphone, my parents felt it necessary to track my precise
whereabouts through the well known application, Find My Friends. Though they
were not strict
Congress Must Reform Current Legislation Restrict...
Affirmative Case Congress must reform current legislation to restrict bioprospecting
on federal land, and regulate the amount of monetary gain that landholders can
receive from bioprospecting companies that use their resources. The National Park
Service is a smaller government agency within the Department of Agriculture. This is
the agency that is in dire need of legislation to restrict bioprospecting, and manage the
profitmargin that national parks can receive from allowing bioprospecting companies
to use their resources.
Observation I Harms/Significance/Motive The Department of Agriculture manages
land owned by the federal government. As a result, the Department of Agriculture
would enforce laws regarding how the federal government might profit from
prospecting natural biological resources within the United States. However, if
Congress does not pass legislation to dictate when, where and how bioprospecting
can be profited from then individual agencies may characterize bioprospecting as
scientific research.
It is moral and legally ethical to use bioprospecting profits for maintaining national
parks. The Biodiversity Treaty sanctioned that countries whose biological resources
are exploited by bioprospecting companies have a right to share the financial benefits
resulting from the sale of these resources (Adair, 1997). National parklands are
owned by the federal government. Therefore, our national parks have the legal right
to share in the financial benefits that

Take a moment and think about your favorite athlete, musician, performer,
engineer, or any notable person that you admire. These people are often revered as
being the most gifted of our kind, and we often place their successes on a pedestal
far beyond our reach. It is a widely accepted excuse their natural abilities have
allowed them to reach their expertlevel of knowledge and achievement. However,
modern research is yielding more proof that innate characteristics have less to do
with a person s talent and that hard work is the primary push factor towards those
achievements. All of those accomplished people from various fields have one thing in
common: deliberate practice, the primary source of success.

They concluded that the amount of time spent in deliberate practice and effort put
forth, predicted advancing further rounds in final competition far better than any
other kind of preparation (Duckworth 126), consequently proving that deliberate
practice is key to success. Nevertheless, deliberate practice is less about quantity
and more about the quality of practice. Practicing to reach a certain quota of time
spent on the task or following the same routine will yield limited results, quickly
leading to frustration. Repetition of the same motions does not mean excellence;
defining goals and honing in on weaknesses are the only way to avoid stagnation
in practice. Deliberate practice requires a willingness to refine skills and put forth
a full effort something Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky has strived to do her
entire career. Her coach has described her as someone who willingly does more
deliberate practice than anyone he s ever met (Duckworth 136). She knows how
deeply gratifying practice is when done correctly, and has six Olympic medals to
prove it. While expert performers may seem to have reached a godlike level of
achievement, their successes are only attained through the patience required for
deliberate practice.
Even the most daunting of challenges or unfair disadvantages can be overcome
through the use of deliberate practice. According to Ericsson s study, there are very
few characteristics that would allow someone and
Infertility Research Paper
Abstract
This paper exhibits various factors that may affect fertility problems over the age of
35 including age, education, nutrition, weight, contraceptive usage and miscellaneous
reproductive concerns. The focus is to illustrate each factor and identify the effects
that are imposed on women to prohibit conception. There are several ways to explain
the increasing prevalence of infertility. The most controversial concern is the extend
and/or duration of using contraceptives. In today s society, it is typical for a woman
to delay her first pregnancy until the third decade of life which place her at risk for
STD s, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and chronic

Many lifestyle factors such as the age at which to begin a family, nutrition, weight,
exercise, psychological stress, environmental and occupational exposures, and others
can have significant effects on fertility. lifestyle factors such as cigarette smoking,
illicit drug use, and alcohol and caffeine consumption can negatively influence
fertility. Women frequently choose to pursue a career, and wait for the stability of
permanent employment before establishing a family. According to the CDC, many
women are waiting until their 30s and 40s to have children. In fact, about 20% of
women in the United States now have their first child after age 35, and this leads
to a growing cause of fertility complications. Research has proven that
approximately one third of couples in which the woman is older than 35 years have
fertility problems. Aging not only decreases a woman s chances of having a baby
but also increases her chances of miscarriage and of having a child with a genetic

For this assignment, two texts are being analyzed. One is Intersection of Biography
and History by Mary Romero; the other one is Teenage Wasteland by Donna Gaines.
Both of the texts have something in common; they both focus on a social stigma. In
the first text, written by Mary Romero, she focuses on domestic work especially with
Chicanas. They are women of Mexican descent born and raised in the United States,
and they often work as domestics. She talks about the relation between domestics
and their employers which is often not a good one because employers feel superior
due to the difference of social class. Domestics are in the house but are often
invisible but still under supervision, which made them feel lonely. There is also the

  • 2. The Legacy Of Alexander The Great Sparse historical figures stand out like the man Alexander the Great. He became a warrior by the age of sixteen and was a king at twenty. He did things during his existence that others could only envisage about. Alexander was a man who was both wrathful and compassionate depending on the day. He single handedly transformed the tide of the world in a little over a decade, and inadvertently may have shaped how the entire world has grown. I believe he perfectly exemplifies the qualities of a person whose leadership and legacy has had great effect. Alexander the Great was born in June in 356 BCE in the ancient capital of Macedon known as Pella. He was the first son of Philip II, the King of Macedon and Olympia, the Princess of Epirus. Alexander gained his father s astonishing organization skills and his mother s vehement disposition. When Alexander was young his mother told him that Achilles was related to him and also his father was a descendant of Hercules ; hence influencing him to memorize the Iliad and always have it at his side. Alexander exhibited marks of valor and potency at an incredibly early age. His mother and father saw the aptitude for their son to be a great leader, and therefore hired Aristotle as his private instructor. Aristotle and Alexander studied together at Mieza, a temple near his palace. Alexander ascertained philosophy, political knowledge, and ethical values at the hands of Aristotle. Alexander thought of Aristotle as a father figure, and it can
  • 3. High Bar Grips Research Paper In NCAA Men s Gymnastics, grips are the one piece of equipment that every gymnast needs in order to be successful in the sport. The only two genres of men s gymnastics grips are ring grips and high bar grips. Although they both have a similar function, they vary in certain aspects of their design in order to allow the athlete to have his best possible performance on the different events. Gymnastics grips, despite the differences between the two genres, both serve the same purpose for the athlete using them. All grips are made of leather and wrap around the wrist of the gymnast using a Velcro strap and/or a leather buckle. A strip of leather goes from the wrist of the gymnast to the tips of his fingers, where his fingers go through holes that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... High bar grips are not only a bit wider but also have three holes for the gymnast to insert his fingers, while ring grips only have two holes and are not as wide. This is due to the fact that there is more friction between the hands of the gymnast and the high bar than there is on rings, which means that the high bar grips need to be wider in order to protect the hands more than is need on rings. There is less friction on rings because the rings are able to move freely with the gymnast s hands so that his hands are not actually moving around the apparatus but rather with the apparatus, while the high bar is stationary and the gymnast s hands are actually moving around the bar causing much more friction. Furthermore, ring grips are also not as wide as high bar grips because the rings are curved. Hanging on the curved rings with grips that are too wide would make them bend, causing them to rip more easily or not be as effective for grip and hand protection. This is not a problem on the high bar because the bar is flat and level, allowing the grips to be a bit wider and still lay flat. While ring grips are not as wide as high bar grips, they are a bit longer, and they have a slightly larger dowel as well. This is due to the fact that a gymnast s hands do not move on the rings, so they are able to use longer
  • 4. Plant Sets And Its Effect On Our Lives Part A The results were conclusive and differed slightly from previously expectations with the plants germinated with an absence of light growing on average 17.975 mm per day compared to the plants with exposure to light growing 6.965 mm less at an average of 11.01 mm per day. This trend was evident throughout the duration of the experiment however as the investigation continued it was clear the growth of both plant sets was beginning to decrease and slow. As shown in graph 2.0 and table 1.0 on day 15 the plants grown in the dark had reached a height of 175.9 mm and by day 17 they had only grown 1.475 mm and reached a height of 177.375 mm, compared to the growth between day 8 and 9 when the plants grew by 44.375 mm, a 48% increase, nearly doubling its height of 47.85 mm on day 8. The heights of both sets altered from each other for most of the experiment expect for day 10 when the heights only altered by 0.891 mm with the plants in the dark having a average height of 108.125 mm while the plants with light had reached a height of 108.944 mm. Part B The results of part B were also conclusive but were as to be expected with both plant sets increasing in mass. The original mass of a individual seed was 0.036 grams with the total mass being 0.3 grams. The plants in the dark had a 833.33% increase with the individual weight being 0.3 grams while the plants grown with light exposure individual mass of 0.4 grams and a 1111.11% increase. Meanwhile the total mass of the seeds

Sports are unsafe for kids because concussion, recovery of a concussion and Sports are expensive. For example, how you recover from a concussion. Doctors did studies on football players that had a concussions every player or person heal at a different rate . When you have a concussion early Activity can and will slow your healing . Problems with memory and concentration . This means you should ask the coach to sit and rest. The parent has to pay 4 to 5 fees like coach fees, meet fees and equipment fee . This
  • 6. Grades Grades in the realm of education are standardized measurements of varying levels of comprehension within a subject area. Grades can be assigned in letters (for example, A, B, C, D, or F), as a range (for example 4.0 1.0), as a number out of a possible total (for example out of 20 or 100), as descriptors (excellent, great, satisfactory, needs improvement), in percentages, or, as is common in some post secondary institutions in some countries, as a Grade Point Average (GPA). GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time divided by the total number of credits taken.[1] The GPA can be used by potential employers or further post secondary institutions to assess and compare applicants. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was done primarily for the students benefit, since they were not permitted to move on to the next level until they demonstrated their mastery of the current one. It was also the earliest example of a narrative report card. With the passage of compulsory attendance laws at the elementary level during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the number of students entering high schools increased rapidly. Between 1870 and 1910 the number of public high schools in the United States increased from 500 to 10,000. As a result, subject area instruction in high schools became increasingly specific and student populations became more diverse. While elementary teachers continued to use written descriptions and narrative reports to document student learning, high school teachers began using percentages and other similar markings to certify students accomplishments in different subject areas. This was the beginning of the grading and reporting systems that exist today. The shift to percentage grading was gradual, and few American educators questioned it. The practice seemed a natural by product of the increased demands on high school teachers, who now faced classrooms with growing numbers of students. But in 1912 a study by two Wisconsin researchers seriously challenged the reliability of percentage grades as accurate indicators of students achievement. In their study, Daniel Starch and Edward Charles Elliott showed that high school
  • 7. Microsoft Windows And Remote Procedure Call ( Rpc )... Microsoft Windows was attacked via buffer overflow in August 2003. The attack, known as the Blaster Worm, focused on an already recognized buffer overflow in Windows remote procedure call (RPC) facilities. RPC is specific to the Windows operating system. The vulnerability was in Port 135 which handles transmission control protocol (TCP) the language in which a system communicates in. Port 135 did not require authenticationabout a server it was communicating with. Therefore, the Blaster Worm was able to inundate the port with data, in turn, injecting malicious code into the system. By exploiting this vulnerability in Port 135, the Blaster Worm would install itself on a computerand immediately seek out other susceptible computers. Once infected, the Blaster Worm permitted individuals or an entity to take a myriad of very damaging actions from executing programs to giving others hackers full access to resources and information. Additionally, the Blaster Worm had the ability to instruct a newly discovered susceptible system to download the worm so that the infectious cycle would continue (Hoogstraten, 2003). The antidote to the Blaster Worm virus came in the form of a patch issued after it infected an estimated 100,000 Microsoft Windowssystems and cost millions in damage (Bailey, Cooke, Jahanian, Watson, Nazario, 2005). • 8. Thin Layer Chromatography Chromatography techniques are one of the most useful methods available for the separation or isolation of organic compound from a mixture. The most common used chromatographic technique includes column chromatography, thin layer chromatography (TLC), etc. The purpose of this lab exercise is using the gel filtration chromatographyto separate different proteins from a mixture. Collecting elutes (run off), and calibrating a curve to show how the column separates molecules by molecular weight, and identify the molecular weight of the proteins. The sample mixture used in this lab contained Blue Dextran that has a size of 2x106 Da, and has blue in color. Cytochrome C has a size of 13,000 Da, pink in color. It is very important not to let the bed run dry during any part of the experiment because the pockets of air in the bed will cause uneven flow of molecules through the column. Next, 13 clean, dry cuvettes were collected and labeled 0 to 12. 1mL of water was measured by the P 1000 cuvette and was transferred into the cuvette that labeled 0 in order to measure the amount of fraction that we will collect. The sample mixture that included Blue Dextran, Cytochrome of was obtained and was measured 250 ОјL by using the P 1000 pipette. Then, the 250 ОјL was carefully transferred into the column that already packed. Add the mixture by placing your pipette against the wall of the column so as not to disturb the bed. The mixture was allowed to enter the bed, close to the bottom the bed (about 1 cm) by opening the stop cock . Then, about 15 mL of buffer was added into the column. 3mL of buffer added slowly each time to prevent the overflow and avoid disturb the bed. 1 mL fractions were collected into each cuvette until there is no color present in the last fraction. 1 mL of fraction was measured by keep the #0 cuvette contained water next to the cuvette that you want to measure. After, collecting the fraction, the fraction was analyzed and recored the color and the intensity. Each fraction was given the number based on the scale 0 5 based their color. The bigger number the darker color they have and more intense. All the waste was discarded to appropriate waste
  • 9. Everyday Use Summary Life has its Ups and Downs To start, in Everyday Use characterization shows up in many different ways and how each character is described. The three main characters that stood out the most are Mama, Dee, and Maggie. Throughout the story Mama is the narrator and tells the story about her life and her children. Mama describes herself as In real life I am a large big boned woman with rough man working hands (744). Also, Mama says I can kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man (744). This shows that Mama isn t petite woman and demonstrates her ability with strong work ethic such as a man with his strength to get the job done. This demonstrates how times were different and now Wangero does not want to be held back by old times. Also, because she is independent and intellectual and doesn t want to be embarrassed by her family. To emphasize, Maggie character shows her being described as lame animal perhaps a dog run over by some careless person rich enough to own a car. (744) This shows how Maggie isn t educated with having any potential. Also, Maggie is an introvert and does not like to talk except to Mama. Wangero insults her sister by Maggie brain is like an elephant (747) which is saying she stupid. Then Wangero brings up the quilts and talks with Mama and Mama said I promised to give them to Maggie, for when she marries John Thomas. (748) Dee states Maggie cannot appreciate these quilts (748) She probably be backward enough to put them to everyday use (748). • 11. College Textbooks The prices of college textbooks have increased more rapidly than tuition, health care expenses, and lodging fees. All of these have elevated beyond inflation (huffingtonpost.com). Students around the nation have been facing the daunting task of deciding whether or not to buy a textbook or take a class. Why is this even happening? The textbooksthat professors are assigning can cost at least two to three hundred dollars (huffingtonpost.com). Along with tuition, housing fees, and other expenses, students are now paying outrageous amounts for textbooks. Textbooks should be free to collegestudents because the prices are outrageous, there are high consequences for opting out, and there are ways to give students free books. Since January of 1977, ... He also said that comparing online open source content with textbooks is not fair (Cost). Anderson may be right, but in the long run, America s college students are going to be paying millions of dollars just for textbooks. There are not many effective alternatives. Digital textbooks may be an option, but right now, not everyone has access to a computer or cell phone. Therefore, students have to face the consequences of costly textbooks. Along with high prices come high consequences. The extreme prices of textbooks have caused some students to skip out on the appointed book. Educators get to choose the book of focus, and the paying student has no choice but to buy that book, or risk a low grade by opting out. • 12. Difference Between Service Quality And Customer Satisfaction Introduction: Service quality represents a fundamental aspect of delivery, which strongly influences consumer satisfaction and, as a result, loyalty. In today s global market a customer s service expectation has to be met and exceeded eventually in order to retain customers as well as achieve success. Perceived quality of a product or a service is becoming one of the major competitive factors in the business world and has led to the innovation of the Quality Era (Peeler, 1996). In simple words, the comparison of customer expectations with service performance is service quality. On the other hand, customer satisfaction is defined as a pleasurable fulfilment response toward a good, service, benefit, or reward (Oliver, 1997). Both of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sureshchandra, Rajendran and Anantharaman (2002) identified five critical aspects of service quality from the customers point of view namely core service/service product, human element of service delivery, systematisation of service delivery, tangibles of service and lastly social responsibility in order to conceptualise service quality. Table 1 will further provide an explanation to the five critical aspects of service quality as outlined by Sureshchandra et al (2002). Table 1: SI.no.Critical FactorsExplanation of the critical factors 1.Core service or Service productBasically means the content of a service. 2.Human element of service deliveryRefers to all aspects that fall under the domain of human element in the service delivery namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, moments of truth, critical incident and recovery. 3.Systematisation of service delivery: non human elementThe procedures, processes, systems technology that would make a service a flawless one. 4.Tangibles of service servicescapesThe manmade physical environment (servicescapes) or the tangible facets of the service facility (equipment, machinery, signage, employee appearance etc.) 5.Social ResponsibilityEvery organisation has an obligation to act to benefit the society at large in an ethical framework. This helps in maintaining and developing the organisations image and consequently influences the customers overall evaluation

In their world you follow superheroes through their lives, learning their stories and not only understanding them on the level of a super but on a personal level. There are iconic superhero figures that most would recognize like Captain America and Iron Man. But the one I find that isn t as recognized as most in my opinion would be DVD s. DVD s have expanded so much since their release in 1996, they have become more detailed, high def, and affordable compared to other technology costs. During this research I will try and help you learn the history of the DVD, the knowledge of how DVD s were created, and the different types of DVD s there are. When it comes to DVD s how many of us actually no the process of them being made or when they were actually produced? Not many, we know that they have been around for years and have progressed in different types of DVD s such as blu rays. • 15. Summary Of Inherit The Stars By James P. Hogan Throughout Inherit the Stars, the author James P. Hogan utilizes hidden symbolism, profound philosophy to hint at the idea of critical pluralism. As Sir Karl Popper stated, Critical Pluralism is the position that in the interest of the search for the truth ... should be allowed to compete with all other theories. He suggests a universal truth can be accepted when one theory has more evidence than the every other theories provided. This is directly linked with the Lunarians throughout the novel. Hogan moves the idea of evidence to argue the truth is subjective to a certain degree and the truth will always be redefined as more evidence is brought to the table, especially when a theory contradicts already established paradigms. The more substantiated argument always gains more recognition when... (Hogan, pg 149). Personal Statement On The Field When I was on a softball team a few years ago, me and my teammates would communicate through the essentials of communication which are process, meaning, and symbolic communication both on and off the baseball field. In example, when we are on the field, we communicate in procedural ways in order to reach a goal. We were engaging in action when we were practicing and using our knowledge when implementing a strategic plan on how we would play the different opponents we faced especially in crucial games. My teammates were all different races so we all had different cultural backgrounds. There were people on my team who were of American, African American, Asian, Lebanese, Puerto Rican, and Dominican descent. Therefore, my language was constantly changing when communicating between my Hispanic and American teammates. Our interpersonal competence and determination to win depicted the outcome of our games. However, most of us shared the same desire and effort in helping each other learn and grow with the team. Before our games would begin, some teammates practiced different ways based on their cultural roots. For instance, some Dominican teammates would practice their hitting skills by playing a game that is popular in their country. The game consisted of a long thin stick longer than a bat and thinner than a ruler. The balls that was used to pitch to the hitter was the shape of a hockey puck only smaller and thinner. This technique is mainly used to improve hitting skills and

Litter is nothing but a piece of waste or rubbish that has been disposed improperly, without consent and at wrong location. Littering simply means throwing away objects on the ground or leaving them lying on the ground instead of disposing them at garbage can, recyclingbin or trash container. (What is Litter? ) It is very concerning that there are only a few people who would like to make a change within their own community. The trash laying alongside the highways is very distracting, it makes you want to stop and pick it up. Many people who feel such a way decide that they need to come up with a plan that could get their community involved. The environment that we live in needs to be treated better, if only humans could take a second look at what it actually does look like. There are so many ideas and ways trash could be taken care of instead of just being disposed alongside the highways, on the streets, or anywhere else it does not belong besides in a garbage can. It is very disappointing that many people do not even care at all that the mother earth is very trashy. However, there are a few good people out there who take their time to keep their community looking nice and clean. It is surprising when you do notice the few places that you travel by are clean. Some ways that a community can get motivated in trash pickup would be to start off with your friends who
  • 19. Questions For The Group Discussion Two Questions for the group discussion: Inside a church, a pastor has flipped a verse of the bible to accommodate polygamy. Consulted by a business millionaire, the pastor ransacked the bible and finally arrived at a verse to support the holy matrimony. Quoting Isaiah 4:1 the pastor joined the notable influential member with three women . Does the text Isaiah 4:1 justify the polygamous wedding? During the discussion, which follows the presentation, the group was amazed at the shocking photo of a man franked with three women in their weeding attires. The scenario in a sociological dimension prompted the geographical background where the wedding could have happened. It is assumed that most Christian communities view polygamy as an abominable act, which presumably does not conform with most biblical canons. For some geographical areas, it is illegal and punishable by law, particularly in western society; yet it is acceptable in some countries and shockingly among faith communities. The expression that the Pastor flipped a verse of the Bible to accommodate polygamy , could be inferred that the pastor was either desperate for the man s money or that he was afraid of losing his membership in his church; and so, he was ready to do anything to keep his buoyant church member. However, for charity sake, we do not know the bigger picture of what really happened or what might have moved the pastor to succumb to the risky demand. Sociologically his society allows it otherwise

UFO s sightings from around the world are consistent because nothing else on earth resembles a flying saucer or an aircraft with no wings. Step Two: Assessing the evidence UFO sightings have been reported by numerous individuals, as of June 24, 1947, and have been continuously documented since then. Infrastructure provides a platform for all necessary IT applications and functions for the individual or any organisation. Every infrastructure that is designed or worked on will need to meet unique requirements. Storage requirements: It is influenced by transaction growth rate and data distribution requirements. Disk space capacity: Storage requirement depends like how much space is already being used by the database data files and how much more should be added for transaction log files, portion of tempdb that helps in database activities and full text index or reorganisation of index. Disk throughput capacity: Storage requirement can be known by the access of I/O rate according to the database requirement. The IOPS and space capacity is inversely proportional to each other. The fact that violence is present throughout the novel means that Foster is experiencing, enacting or not stopping the violence. Here, Tod coalesces with the other apathetic Californians; he becomes one of them. This of course means that implementing such teams is not as much of a principle importance as making sure those teams are performing well. This includes providing a robust program with diverse services in place at elderly care centers to meet the many multifaceted healthcare demands of the elderly population. While less progressive, PACE programs when compared to less restrictive designs are associated with significantly less utilization of hospitals and emergency rooms (Mukamel et al., 2007). Simply put, if a healthcare organization utilizes PACE as part of their healthcare management for the elderly population they will reduce healthcare costs on their health system by reducing the number of admissions to the emergency room and hospital respectfully. This saves money by reducing the likelihood of null reimbursement for hospital acquired conditions in elderly patients that may occur during their hospital stay. By bringing on a partner, you acquire a new network of contacts and potential customers. If one partner was to died or become physical impaired while in the partnership agreement the other partner can take over the business completely or choose to sell the other partner s half of the business (Price, 2012). • 37. Critical Analysis Of Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like A Mountain Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like a Mountain (1949), was intended to convince the public, through beautiful and eloquent language, that wildlife conservation is an important implementation and that people should not be trying to make the world a human centric ecosystem. During his time, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist who believed in the longevity of the land and that we should protect it, even if we must protect the land from ourselves. While this was an unpopular opinion, realizing that the land and animals naturally work together in a symbiotic relationship to protect one another was very apparent to Leopold. He believed that humans should be doing our best to lessen our impact on the environment. Time has caught up with Leopold s ideologies and it is time that our efforts and contributions to the earth did too. Gathering sympathy for a force known for causing harm to a resource that helps and provides for humans isn t the easiest of things. Humans are known for protecting their resources from harm and allowing them to flourish. By attempting to make us sympathize with a force that kills off a valuable asset, Leopold also expands and allows us to think beyond the current moment and current assets, letting us see a bigger picture. A human centric mindset is very common in Leopold s age and even in today s world. We, as a society, hold humans and our needs above those of other animals, the earth and even other humans. We re always needing more to sustain an unsustainable lifestyle and although we manage to acquire more resources, we often do so without realizing the consequences of our actions on those around us. Leopold s article Thinking Like a Mountain is not a persuasive piece filled with facts and data. It is a personal story that uses passion and deep emotion, also known as pathos, to let the reader see through his eyes for a split second. Forcing his point of view to be seen to allow the public to sympathize. His word choice is mainly towards those that are more emotionally charged rather than scientific words which imply a choice in taking a more empathetic or emotional oriented route with his readers. Six arguments for the Existence of God , one argument for The rationality of belief in God , and one argument Against the reality of religion . I didn t like this topic and the concept of this topic at all. Because God and religionstuffs are entirely personal issue. It depends on the person either he/she will belief God, follow the religion or not. Even though both believers and nonbelievers, doubt that God existences can be revealed or even argued about. I m strongly disagree with that whereas belief, religion, worship, God is so personal, it s become a controversial topic. Rational, formal and logical argument do have a place in... However, if they are perfectly content with the way they are then I will just have to congratulate them and stay quiet. I ve always said, science can take you so far, the rest is up to God. I m not here to preach that my religion is better than any other and that I am one hundred percent correct but this is why I believe in Islam. Ruby And Sapphire Character Analysis Indeed, it can be argued that, since Ruby and Sapphire are in a romantic relationship, there is no need to include other and different types of LGBT couples. Pearl is in love with Rose but is ultimately rejected as her romantic interest is assimilated into the heteronormative, leaving her bitter and resentful. Therefore, if, on one hand, the otherness of Rose as an alien is assimilated and normalized as she enters the heteronormative by beginning a relationship with the human male character Greg, Pearl s deviousness as not only alien but also homosexual character condemns her to remain unhappy and alone. Still bound to her idealized vision of Rose and unable to overcome her issues, Pearl develops a crush for a human that looks just like her lost lover: the mysterious girl of Last One out of Beach City. One group called young earthers believe a literal interpretation of Genesis in the Bible, while the other group developed a new way to sneak God into the classroom by creating intelligent designor as Rowe describes it creationismafter a shower and a shave . The creationist behind intelligent design avoid mention of Adam and Eve; instead they say any intelligent being could ve designed it. He also states that religious right organizers utilized grassroots lobbying efforts that gave intelligent design a legitimacy it didn t deserve . The feud between creationist and scientist about the origins of the universe dates back to the 20 s during the Scopes trial. Scientist are against creationism because there is no evidence to support the theory. Scientist support Charles Darwin s theory Darwinism, the theory that organisms evolve from simple to complex through minor adaptations over time, because it has held up for more than a century. Rowe s article expresses how he believes that creationist created intelligent design to take the place of creationism in public schools after the Supreme Court ruled that

  • 51. The Nature Of Power In Michel Foucault s Discipline And... Within the present modern disciplinary society, which is dependent on invisible power and surveillance, humans are constantly disciplined through a power structure. Albeit, civilians are taught to internalize the intangible surveilling gaze that molds them into efficient, operational products; though, brief unnerving feelings may accompany the thought of constant, omnipresent observation. Although the words power and discipline frequently come with an adverse connotation of punishment and repression, they actually possess multiple productive uses in a variety of social institutions and relations. In Michel Foucaults Discipline Punish, he discusses the nature of power in society: how it can not only be used for discipline, but also potentially implemented as a productive influence. Foucault did not view power as a necessarily restrictive and repressive force on people; rather, it is an immanent dynamic in all social relations. In addition, a panoptic structure could be beneficial to all institutions of containment that depend on power and observation, including prisons, schools, hospitals, and even animal captivity. This power does not need to be implemented through forceful means: power can result from care, such as the nurturing power established by supportive parental figures. The National Park Service is a smaller government agency within the Department of Agriculture. This is the agency that is in dire need of legislation to restrict bioprospecting, and manage the profitmargin that national parks can receive from allowing bioprospecting companies to use their resources. Observation I Harms/Significance/Motive The Department of Agriculture manages land owned by the federal government. As a result, the Department of Agriculture would enforce laws regarding how the federal government might profit from prospecting natural biological resources within the United States. However, if Congress does not pass legislation to dictate when, where and how bioprospecting can be profited from then individual agencies may characterize bioprospecting as scientific research. It is moral and legally ethical to use bioprospecting profits for maintaining national parks. The Biodiversity Treaty sanctioned that countries whose biological resources are exploited by bioprospecting companies have a right to share the financial benefits resulting from the sale of these resources (Adair, 1997). National parklands are owned by the federal government. Therefore, our national parks have the legal right to share in the financial benefits that

Practicing to reach a certain quota of time spent on the task or following the same routine will yield limited results, quickly leading to frustration. Repetition of the same motions does not mean excellence; defining goals and honing in on weaknesses are the only way to avoid stagnation in practice.
