Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate which hemisphere is specialised for
the perception of emotion. It was hypothesised that participants will judge
chimeric faces with smile presented in the left visual field as happier more often
than chimeric faces with the smile presented in the right visual field. Twenty six
psychology students were asked to judge chimeric faces with one half being a
smiling expression and the other half with a neutral expression. The images were
presented in their left and right visual field. Over 28 experimental trials the
participants were asked to judge which face they thought looked happier. The
percentage of chimeric faces judged as happier for both left and right visual field
was recorded. The hypothesis was supported: chimeric faces with smile presented in
the left visual field as happier more often than chimeric faces with the smile presented
in the right visual field.

Department officers of brutally beating Rodney G. King, an unarmed African
American motorist. The riots that followed over the next five days left more than 50
people dead, more than 2,000 injured, and nearly 12,000 arrested (Los Angeles Riots

On March 3, 1991, paroled felon Rodney King led police on a high speed chase
through the streets of Los Angeles County before eventually surrendering.
Intoxicated and uncooperative, King resisted arrest and was brutally beaten by

women wrote was amazing. Most were good and came from the heart. Hearing
from these women made me want to talk with some of them after. When I did go to
talk to them I heard about some of their experiences and get to know why doing
this program helps. Some of them were into some hard stuff and lost some of their
family and loved ones because of it. They get ten minutes to write their piece and
they really write what they are thinking. Some talk about their time in jail through
a poem and others talk about what it was like before getting convicted. It would be
fun to hear more from them. Another thing we did was have a talk with Alaina
DiGeorgio about having privilege. Doing the bead activity made you think about
what privilege you have. Going through the list made you think more about what
people actually go through on a daily basis. Some people don t get the items that
we have or even the family and friends we might have. There are so many new
issues happening in the world people are losing out on some of the great things

Being a platoon commander, I had to make eighteen individuals have the mindset of
a team, in order to prepare them for Annual Military Inspection. This worked to the
utmost degree, because we passed our Annual Military Inspection and were

tribes called the Goths. This ornate and intricate style of architecture proved to be the
ideal backdrop for both the physical and the psychological settings in a new literary
style. This literary style coined the gothic , began in the mid 1700s with a story titled,
The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole. The budding genre takes influence from an
architectural movement propagated by the Goths, but so too does the term refer to
the gothic constitution. This to say that the gothic may also be thought of as a
product of the revolutionary shock besetting 18th and 19th century Europe. These
polysemous definitions for the term gothic can be used to examine how both Ann
Radcliffe and Mary Shelley apply and take inspiration from these interconnected

Pythagoras Accomplishments
Did you know that Pythagorean Theorem was actually created well before our
generation s time period? Yes, it seems that is pretty basic knowledge, but did you
know it was actually created in B.C. and instead of A.D.? The brilliant mind to thank
for such an achievement is the man who goes by the name Pythagoras. However the
Pythagorean Theorem isn t his only accomplishment, he was so advanced for his
time, that he had many achievements. But to the best way to examine these
accomplishments is to start at the beginning. In around 569 B.C on a small island of
Samos, Pythagoras was born. His mother, named Pythais, was a native to the island
Samos and his father, named Mnesarchus, was a traveling merchant. Due to his father
being a traveling merchant, Pythagoras spent his most of his childhood traveling with
his father, thus causing young Pythagoras to become more intelligent and worldly
compared to other youth at the time. Along the travels he picked up reading and

math was more critical thinking rather than problem solving. One example of
Pythagoras critical thinking comes in the form of a simple triangle which he called
Tetractys. A tetractys, or also known as tetrad, a triangular figure consisting of ten
points arranged in four rows: one, two, three, and four points in each row, which is
the geometrical representation of the fourth triangular number. This later became the

It has guided me in so many ways in managing my time, to be more confident for
example, doing a presentation in front of an audience was something I never saw
myself doing and also have gained a few friends in working together in sharing ideas
and learning from one another. Especially the first week we had an ice breaker,
introducing someone next to you in class whom you never met before that only
gave me an insight based on people. Also I have never used library sources before.
But have learnt so much how to look for books, how to use Harvard referencing. 1.

The Boston Massacre and the killings that took place at Kent State University
occured 200 year apart from each other, but there is a striking resemblance between
the two events. It is evident that history repeats itself. Both of the events were
brought on by tensions between the powers that be and the people, became so
violent that officials were forced to take charge, and after tragedy occurred, no one
suffered any consequences.
The Boston Massacre of 1770 was fated to happen once Parliament passed the
Townshend Actsof 1767 on the American colonies. These acts placed taxes on
goods such as glass, tea, and paper. When these taxes reached throughout the
colonies, colonists began to boycott British items, and some of them rioted. Things
were getting out of control, so in the following year, Parliament sent soldiers over to

At this point in time, the Vietnam War was in progress; young people were getting
drafted left and right, and the troops overseas were getting absolutely slaughtered.
There was a multitudinous amount of protest surrounding the war, and when
tensions started running too high, protests became dangerous and violent. After
