Phrases To Use In Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Phrases To Use In Essays" may initially seem like a
straightforward task, but delving into the intricacies of this subject reveals its complexity.
Crafting a well-structured and engaging essay requires more than just compiling a list of phrases.
It demands a nuanced understanding of language, context, and the art of effective
communication.
Firstly, one must grapple with the challenge of selecting phrases that not only enhance the essay's
readability but also convey the intended message with precision. The balance between simplicity
and sophistication is crucial, as overly complex phrases may alienate readers, while overly
simplistic ones might fail to convey the depth of thought.
Furthermore, the writer must navigate the diverse purposes these phrases serve – from
introducing ideas and providing transitions to emphasizing key points or contrasting arguments.
Achieving coherence and flow in the essay requires a keen awareness of how these phrases
contribute to the overall structure and logical progression of the content.
Moreover, the task involves considering the audience and the context in which the essay will be
read. Different phrases may be suitable for academic essays, persuasive pieces, or creative
writing. Adapting the language to resonate with the target audience adds another layer of
difficulty.
Additionally, the challenge lies in avoiding the trap of overusing clichГ©s or relying on a limited
set of phrases. A well-crafted essay on this topic should encourage diversity in expression,
promoting a rich and varied vocabulary.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Phrases To Use In Essays" requires more than just assembling
a collection of words; it demands a deep understanding of language nuances, audience
dynamics, and effective communication. Striking the right balance, maintaining coherence, and
adapting to the specific requirements of the context make this task a challenging but rewarding
endeavor.

Women in Afghanistan Essay
Women in Afghanistan
The Taliban group is a group of men who formed in 1994 in the country of
Kandahar by Islamic students who took an approach to interpreting Islam. The
Group also believes in strict Islamic rules. According to them the men must have
beards four fingers in length, there shall be no music and women should not be
allowed to do anything other than stay home and watch the children and clean the
house. This Taliban group when first started had about twenty to thirty thousand
men involved. The group now controls about 80% of Afghanistan land. Today,
under the Taliban s regime, women are not allowed out of their homes unless with
a male relative. Any kind of acts against the Tailban s rule will lead to... Show more

Every woman must wear a burqa veil no matter
where she is going. If a woman is found outside of her house with out her veil on
she can be whipped or even stoned to death publicly. Afghan women have been
pushed to the lowest form of living there is and that is truly sad. The Taliban men
have completely banned any education for women starting from kindergarten to
graduate school. Also employment for women has been banned in their country.
The poor women under the Taliban rule can t wear make up, nail polish, cut their
hair short, wear colorful or stylish clothes, white socks and shoes, and can t even
walk or talk loudly. In fact the government believes women shouldn t even leave
their homes at all. If woman do choose to leave her home it must be for an
essential, purpose and she must wear the full burqa outfit. Even then these women
risk their lives. Women born into this horrible lifestyle are born already dead. To
ensure that women are not to be seen regularly as if the never existed the
government ordered that all home windows be covered with thick blankets. It is
very illegal for women to talk to a man if he is not a close relative. The women in
Afghanistan aren t even able to see a male physician no matter what their
conditions are. Now that the Taliban has taken over, women are banned from
working. Women used to hold jobs next to men in medicine, engineering,

It became an independent state in 1948, after gaining its independence from The
United Kingdom. The population in Sri Lanka in 2012 was 21,481,334.

it at Anuradhapura. They brought with them Buddhist missionaries that helped spread
buddhism all over Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was introduced to the culture, dynamics and
civilization of Buddhist India. Ever since then, Buddhists of Sri Lanka have given

The Growth Of Population Growth Essay
The present rate of population growth is one of the most significant environmental
issues we as humans are facing. The exponential growth at which the population is
moving is having direct impacts on climate, energy, poverty, food, the global
economy, and politics (Why Population Matters). The world populationis currently
7.3 billion people and there is growing doubt that the planet is able to sustain
human needs and resource consumption (Population Concern). The expansion of
human population is impacting countries, societies, and cultures around the world
differently. These differences can occur due to, environmental, political, and
societal factors that can determine the severity of the issue and how the country
decides to respond. The population is growing at exponential rates and can be
expressed by calculating the double time, which is the number of years it takes for
population size to double (Harper, Chapter 5). For developed countries, the
calculated double time is longer than that of a developing country (Harper, Chapter
5). The first case study under analysis is that of Rwanda, one of the poorest nations
in the world, which therefore has one of the lowest double time growths (Harper,
Chapter 5). Food scarcity and violence are the stories of Rwanda s fate and is
outlined in Jared Diamond s book, Collapse . The second case study being examined
is China s human population growth, which is not only negatively impacting its own
country, but impacting others at a
My View Of America In Today s Society
In today s society each person has a different vision of what America is, should be
or even what it could be. The visions I have for America may be different from
others. It includes visions about what I think of America, the freedom of America,
the relationship of America and other countries, and the religion of people in
America. The first thing I am going to explain is, What do I think of America?
America has people that take care of their community like cleaning up after
themselves, by greeting new people in the community that are from a different state
or even country. The second idea is Freedom of America. We have freedom today
because we have people in all branches of the military such as: Coast Guard, Marines,

Mental Illness And Self Identity
This issue is relevant because mental illness and self identity are starting to become
a popular topic in our society. People are starting to realize that even though it may
be a difficult subject to speak and learn about, it is important and should be
addressed in our society. This issue is important because it helps people embrace
who they are and learn about the issues instead of hating on themselves for being
different and not knowing the real facts about the issue. If we do not learn how to
treat mental illnessand accept ourselves, we will never move forward in society and
learn how to help others and ourselves with these topics. By learning more about
these topics we can help our society grow, by discovering new ways to help people
with these problems. We could decrease major issues in our society like mass
shootings, and teen suicide. With this topic we can make our society more aware and
inclusive of those with these issues.
Currently, mental health is a major topic in our society with mass shootings and
major crises with our government because everyone says that the shooters were not in
a good mental state, which made them do these terrible things. Self identity is also a
current issue among many young people who do not know who they are and are
still figuring it out. Teens who are not yet proud of their individualism blend into
society and become a brick in the wall instead of an individual who values their
unique qualities and culture. Today, these ideas are
The St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre By Barbra
Diefendorf...
During the 1500 s, the conflict and tension between Catholics and Protestants brought
about new levels of violence in Paris and surrounding areas. Despite the authorities of
Paris attempts at maintaining peace and order, Catholics were determined to rid the
streets of unwanted Protestants. On August 24th, 1572, a day known to Catholics as
St. Bartholomew s Day , thousands of Protestants were murdered by Catholics. From
then on, this day was known as The St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre. Authors
Barbra Diefendorf, and Philip Benedict both wrote about this devastating time in
history with contrasting approaches to the issue. Though sharing in some similarities,
the approaches in which Diefendorf and Benedict take on the St. Bartholomew s Day
Massacre are significantly contrastive. The authors provide different theories to why
the massacre occurred, as well as disclose information about important events that
occurred during different times. When considering a massacre as extensive as the
one that occurred on St. Bartholomew s Day in 1572, it is unlikely that there would
be just one sole cause. Authors Diefendorf and Benedict focused on varying theories
related to the causes of the Parismassacre in each of their accounts. In Diefendorf s
version, she chose to not only look at the contributions made by the King and Paris s
authorities to the massacre, but also at the relationship between the authorities and
the Parisians themselves. There are multiple acknowledgments made
Persuasive Essay On Winter Blues
When the cold weather comes around, it s easy for the winter blues to take effect.
With snow on the ground, ice on the windshield, and below freezing temperatures
to battle with throughout the day, most people just want to get getaway from it all
and for good reasons too. If you haven t felt it yet, it might important to note that:
the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays, when it s time to take
down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and prepare
yourself for the upcoming year. That s because the vast majority of people find
that winter is an extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy
and excitement about practically anything. Fortunately, a visit to any of your
favorite warmer climate destinations will have you forgetting about the slush, ice,
snow boots, and dark season in no time. So, if you find that you re unmotivated,
checked out, and heavy hearted, try to fight these feelings by taking steps towards
the light even in the darkest part of winter. That, of course, is easier said than done
for some people. If you and your family are in need of a winter vacation but if cost is
a major factor, consider one of these affordable and super fun destinations where
your money will go a lot farther. Dallas, Texas Some of you may have all heard
that everything is bigger in Texas and well, it is. Dallas isn t home to just the

Problem 10 9: NPVs and IRRs for Mutually Exclusive Projects
Davis Industries must choose between a gas powered and an electric powered
forklift truck for moving materials in its factory. Since both forklifts perform the
same function, the firm will choose only one. (They are mutually exclusive
investments.) The electric powered truck will cost more, but it will be less
expensive to operate; it will cost $22,000, whereas the gas powered truck will cost
$17,500. The cost of capital that applies to both investments is 12%. The life for
both types of truck is estimated to be 6 years, during which time the net cash flows
for the electric powered truck will be $6,290 per year and those for the gas
powered truck will be $5,000 per year. Annual net cash flows include depreciation
expenses. Calculate the NPV and IRR for each type of truck, and decide which to
recommend.
PV (electric powered) = $22,000
PV (gas powered) = $17,500
Cost of capital = 12%
Number of years = 6
NCF for electric powered = $6,290
NCF for gas powered = $5,000
Electric powered forklift:
NPV = $22,000 + $6,290 [(1/i) (1/(i*(1+i)n)]
NPV = $22,000 + $6,290 [(1/0.12) (1/(0.12*(1+0.12)6)]
NPV = $22,000 + $6,290(4.1114) = $22,000 + $25,861 = $3,861
IRR =rate (nper,pmt,pv,fv) = rate (6,6290, 22000,0) = 18%
Gas powered forklift:
NPV = $17,500 + $5,000 [(1/i) (1/(i*(1+i)n)]
NPV = $17,500 + $5,000 [(1/0.12) (1/(0.12*(1+0.12)6)]

Cultural Impacts Of Cultural Tourism
Cultural tourism has been a significant aspect of growth for any country in the world.
Cultural interactions between the hosts and guests are vital to the sustainability and
progression of tourism in a country. Tourists may initially be drawn to a particular
destination s architecture, history or leisure facilities however exposing the tourists
to cultural events and dissemination of cultural information can get tourists to
categorize the country as a frequent travel destination for vacations and trips. Tourists
usually like to explore and know more about the culture of the country they are
travelling to hence exhibiting the culture through cultural events is an excellent way
to gratify this need. The boom in tourismin recent decades as has opened the world to
cross cultural exchanges and culture has become a vital part of tourism.
Cultural tourism as one of the subsystems of tourism does assume a noteworthy part
in connecting cultural limits through tourist and host interactions. Be that as it may,
there are some cultural false impressions that still exist and cultural tourism ought to
be considered in the rundown of techniques to address these deficiencies. It ought to
be noticed; that cultural travellers visit host puts basically to experience the life
methods for the hosts or fundamentally to get a look of the cultural zone. The
individuals who visit particularly to learn and admire the living methods for the hosts
ordinarily are the individuals who take dynamic part
The Ancient Greek Of Ancient Greece
The ancient Greeks highly valued the strength and power in a spoken word. Political,
economic, cultural, and social life of the Ancient Greeks can be seen in their plays.
They thus relied on words to communicating. Their desire to communicate and pass
crucial information led to the creation of numerous plays across the region. The
ancient Greek plays were both entertaining and educative thus reflecting on the kind
of life that this person lived (Hogan 11). Their settings can suggest a lot about the
circumstances and conditions under which this play was performed. The dramatic
presentations were crucial to Athenians, a fact that can be seen from the numerous
and well spread theatres across the city. The paper will focus on how the ancient...

The effects of violence were so disastrous and they were punished by god. The play
is a significant description of the lifestyle in Greek at that particular time. God
punishing those who do not obey him was a common belief among the ancient
Greeks. The fact that he was a king implied that he had to set a good example by
leading the people so that they can fear gods. The Antigone, is an example of an
ancient play where a lot of elements that can be seen on stage can be used to
interpret and analyze the Greek culture. Like in other Greek plays, masks were
used in the Antigone to convey emotions and capture themes in the play. An
example is that masks worn by different people signaled political power. The voice
of the actor was greatly amplified by the shape of the masks. The audiences were
able to hear the actors when they were in masks. Moreover, the types of clothing in
both The Bacchae and The Antigone were a representation of the Greek culture.
Stage in most ancient Greek plays was composed of four main areas. The first was
around place in which plays and acts were done. The audience sat on the theatron ,
then there was the building behind the state which was decorated as a temple or a
palace called the skene , the last place was the passageways
Figurative Language In Blackberry-Picking
Blackberry Picking is a short poem consisting of two uneven stanzas; brief and
concise. The poet s use of flashback is to give context and insight of his life back at
the farm. The length of the poem does not take away from the experience as the poet
is able to successfully express not only a literal description of picking berries but the
intensity in doing so. Although the poet portrays intense longing through varied use
of figurative language he is devoid from the intricacies of style and structure on how
the poem is overall presented. To be able to understand the poet s purpose, one must
not only look into the content but also delve into the structure of the literary work. It
is evident that the poet uses many techniques such as alliteration;... Show more

The vivid imagery and intimate language used to convey the intensive labor also
creates ambiguity because the poet explicitly describes his experience without
elaboration. This is all done whilst exploring multiple abstruse themes such as
adolescence, greed, and death; all portrayed through the simplicity in the act of
picking blackberries. There are many ways to interpret the blackberries. The cycle
of growth the blackberries as they go through maturation; as the poet states, ... the
blackberries would ripen (2) and describe, You ate the first one and its flesh was
sweet... Leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for picking (5; 7) subtly referring
to the poet s curiosity of women and sexual maturation. Because the poem is
obscure and vague with its meaning, one might consider multiple metaphors, such
as: hunger, gluttony, self control. In lines 9 and 12, Sent us out with milk cans, pea
tins, jam pots... We trekked and picked until the cans were full, using exaggeration
to portray the excessive amounts the speaker hordes in the barn. The speaker knows
no restraint; instead of picking the berries in moderation becomes greedy and
realizes in his disappointment that all of the berries have rotted. The speaker makes a
peculiar allusion to the tale of Bluebeard and his wives who were unable to repress
their curiosity, ultimately,
Nitrogen is used by plants in order to synthesize protein...
Nitrogen is used by plants in order to synthesize protein peptide bonds and for cell
growth. Not only is this nutrient required in the largest quantity by plants, but it is
also the most frequently limiting factor when it comes to productivity in crops.
Plants cannot use nitrogen in the air and in the soil system it is lost easily. Because
of this plants are forced to obtain nitrogenin the form of nitrateand ammonium from
the soil. Too much nitrate can cause a negative effect on the plantincluding nitrate
toxicity. High levels of nitrate are not only bad for plants but can also be dangerous
to animals or humans in their presence. Here I discuss the scientific evidence of the
effects of nitrate accumulation on plants and the... Show more content on

If the rate at which the nitrate is reduced is lower then uptake, then accumulation of
large amounts of nitrate can occur. No accumulation occurs when the rate of uptake
equals the rate of reduction. Accumulation of nitrate usually results from plant stress,
such as drought, and is made more prominent by excessive soil nitrogen. Other forms
of plant stress that cause accumulation of nitrate involve the restriction of plant
growth while the absorption of nitrate from soil still continues. Some of these forms
include certain herbicides, frost, acid soils, deficiencies of essential nutrients, low
growing temperatures, and finally reduced sunlight. Due to the fact that nitrate
accumulation builds up the most in plant stems instead of leaves. (3) Nitrate content
in vegetables is influenced primarily by light intensity and nitrogen fertilization.
Diurnal changes in light intensity lead to a diurnal pattern, a pattern that recurs every
24 hours as a result of one full rotation of the Earth, in nitrate accumulation in plants.
(4) When plants receive too much nitrogen in the form of nitrate through its soil, it
can have several detrimental effects on it. Too much nitrogen in plants can deplete
the plant s carbohydrate reserves more rapidly, stimulate rapid shoot growth while
slowing down root growth, and result in thinner more succulent leaf tissue, which
increases moisture loss. Other effects include predisposing the plant to greater insect

Examples Of Intrusive Surveillance
Intrusive Surveillance Can be carried out by covertly following suspects in
unmarked, normal looking vehicles, or through infiltration whereby an undercover
officer infiltrates the targeted suspect group and covertly gathers evidence.
Surveillance devices can also be used when investigating suspects; these can be
anything from tracking devices to phone bugging. Officers may infiltrate a suspect
s home or business and plant listening devices and bugs throughout the area; these
will then be monitored in an unmarked vehicle parked close by. These vehicles are
often disguised as moving vans or delivery vans. Another way officers may plant
listening devices is to pose as electricians, plumbers and gas men, etc. These are all
more commonly used by

Chevy Corvette Characteristics
Chevy Corvette, and the Chevy Sonic possess entirely different images from one
another. The Chevrolet Corvette gives the image and performance of a sports car
(Ferrell and Hartline, 2014). Features included by the Chevy Corvette include the
various customizable styles like the Stingray Coupe, a capacity of 2 passengers, gas
engine, 2 doors, rear wheel drive, and a variety of safety features. (Chevrolet, 2017).
These features make the Corvette a rather expensive car that is owned by race car
drivers, passionate car consumers, and people who are in their fifties (Ferrell and
Hartline, 2014). Americans have always had a penchant for collectibles, including
coins and stamps. Corvette madness was an example of this (Regan, 1979). The

Global Warming Is One Of The Most Important Issues
Today...
Currently, global warming is one of the most important issues in today s society. But,
what is the actual meaning of global warming. According to dictionary.com, global
warming is an increase in the earth s average atmospheric temperature that causes
analogous changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. I have
read a tremendous amount of books and articles regarding global warming. What are
the effects, main causes and how the world should stand and try to reduce what
causes this massive climate change. I have interviewed Jehan Albasara, who is a
student s in Wayne State University. She is very interested in natural issues like
global warming, air pollution, ect. She thinks global warming is a serious
phenomenon that requires an immediate attention to help in making long term
solutions to ensure that there will be a habitable earth for the next generations. I
also asked her about what the roles of the businesses to reduce this global change
.Jehan said Although the damage has been already done, but there is still, however,
a ray of hope in limiting or slowing global warming. The UN Paris Agreement of

Pros and Cons of Attending College Essay examples
Is College Worth It? In Life today a college education is no longer an option or
privilege, but rather it is a necessity. We are raised to believe that a person needs
higher education in order to succeed in life. There is a saying, if you think
education is expensive, try ignorance. You may ask is college necessary? There are
people out in the real world that have never set a foot on a college campus before
and they are doing better than others that have their master s degree. There are
many views from both sides that have a good argument. The main reason people go
to college is because they were always told you will have a better life if you go to
college. Kids are pressured to feel that the have to go to college because, it... Show

They do not want to be looked down upon in the eyes of society so they do what
they think is best. The idea to become a productive person in society is that you
must have some sort of college education. Being a college student is seen as more
respectable, rather then being a garbage man or janitor because of the way society
looks down upon these types of careers. Going to college and receiving a degree
does not guarantee that a person is going to get a job right after they graduate. It is
sometimes hard for some graduates to find a good job because there is so much
competition with other graduates as well. Sometimes they may get a job and it
could be in a totally different field of what they got their degree for. They must
find a job though to pay off all the debt that an education has given them. Many
students feel that some classes are a waste of time and money because they learn
nothing about their chosen field. They have to take classes that have nothing to do
with their major but must take the class to meet the core education requirement of
the college. If these students receive a less than average grade in a class they feel
is unneeded then that lowers their overall GPA. The major reason of going to
college is to get a good job. College prepares us with academic knowledge in order
to succeed in the future. Many people think that a higher education is essential to
prepare a person for their future. As
Essay On Caliticia Science Center
On Friday, May 26th, I went and visited the California Science Center. The
California Science Center has a lot of exhibits regarding biology such as the rot
room, ecosystems and kelp center. The admission to the California Science Center
itself is free and requires no ticket with the exception of special exhibits. When I
visited the center on friday, I visited the whole center, with the exception of the new
exhibit called the Body World: Pulse. During my visited I learned the difference
between the Arctic and Antarctica and how both are typically confused because they
are both cold, windy and dry. However, the Arctic is ocean surrounded by land and
Antarctic is land surrounded by ocean. Besides, geographical differences, population

It was strange experience touching animals that were alive, they almost seemed
fake. In elementary school, I remember doing this same activity. In this exhibit I
learned that animals have a tear shaped body to reduce resistance to ocean
movement. The Center also has a small exhibit that talks about the deep ocean.
The deep ocean, a common mystery, had very little exhibit information besides
interesting samples of animals that live in the deep ocean. The samples were very
small and colorless. In fact, the exhibit mentioned that these creatures lived under
very high pressure and darkness. There were various samples that demonstrated
the great amount of pressure the deep ocean has. Several students dropped
styrofoam cups and heads to the ocean and were received fully crushed and in
miniature form. However, what I found most interesting was the fact that as
pressure increases, buoyancy decreases. This was exhibited through an activity
they had which had a balloon in a water tank and as you manually increased the
pressure up to 20 psi, the balloon sinked to the bottom of the tank. What I found the
most interesting was a small part of the kelp center that had a breeding tank of Brine
shrimp. The shrimp were tiny specks and under a microscope were tiny, clear objects
that floated. The center had two sets of funnels side by side, one for adult shrimp and
one for hatching shrimp. They both were simultaneously working
Differences Of Memory And The Past
Memory and the Past Do you know that Rebecca was the best seller novel sold
between 1938 and 1965? The novel was written by Daphne du Maurier in 1938.
The story is a mixture of love and hate for the primary characters in Rebecca novel.
It begins when a young, poor woman who works with Ms. Van Hopper meets
Maxim de Winter. Then the young women, narrator, feels in love with Maxim de
Winter and decide to get married to go with him to Manderley. After that she meets
Mrs. Danvers and the narrator feels uncomfortable because she seems like a devil
woman. The narrator feels deeply frustrate and upset because she thinks Maxim
loves Rebecca crazily. Then she founds the secret that Maxim does not love
Rebecca, so she becomes better and gets confidence again. Furthermore Maxim
meets Dr. Baker and he tells him that Rebecca is not pregnant, but she has had a
cancer. In the end, Maxim returns back to Manderley and sees... Show more content

The first point of difference is Maxim De Winter never considering suicide. In the
novel, the action of suicide does not happen and is transformed to the narrator first
time meet Maxim at the hotel restaurant. On the other hand, in the film Maxim is
standing at the edge of a cliff want to jump off. Then the narrator prevents and
stops him. The second point of difference is Rebecca s death is much more graphic
in the novel. In the novel Maxim killed her by shots with a pistol and her blood is
everywhere. However, in the film he strikes her and she falls down into a sharp
thing in the cottage. My final point of difference is Mrs. Danvers fate is left
ambiguous. In the novel Mrs. Danvers takes her possessions and left Manderley
since nobody had seen her when she leaves. Maxim expects that she played a role in
burning Manderley. But in the film shows that Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca s bedroom,
looking out of the window as the house burns around her. These are my three
differences between the novel and
Examples Of Greed In Julius Caesar
An Honorable Man : Greed vs. Honorability Honor is a word defined as worthy of
high respect . In Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, honorability is one of the
driving forces of the play s central plot. From the murder plot to the incriminating
funeral speeches, honorability is lost, questioned, and acted upon for the majority of
the plot. When it comes to the question of who is the most honorable man between
Marc Antony and Marcus Brutus, the answer is not immediately clear. Through the
first two acts, as these men develop, grow, and change their ways of thinking, both
men seem to be equally valid candidates. Acts three through five are when their true
colors begin to emerge, and like a butterfly from its cocoon, their inner thoughts and
motives are exposed. Then, the true answer becomes clear: Brutus is the more
honorable man. Why is this? He thinks of others before himself when it comes to

Before he agrees to join the conspiracy against Caesar, Brutus is seen having an
internal conflict with himself over whether this would be the moral thing to do or
not. He says: It must be by his death, and for my part I know no personal cause to
spurn at him But for the general. (2.1.10 12) These lines indicate that while Brutus
himself had nothing against Caesar, and had no reason to personally want to kill
him, he is doing it for the sake of the Roman people, as he believes that they are in
danger of what Caesar might become when he is crowned. Further, this shows that
Brutus is a selfless man who thinks of the sake of the public before his own
personal gain. Later, when he receives the forged letters written by Cassius to
persuade him to join the conspirators, he says: Am I entreated To speak and strike?
O Rome, I make thee promise, If the redress will follow, thou receivest Thy full

The Pythagorean Theorem Was Discovered And First
Proven By...
Background:
The Pythagorean Theorem was discovered and first proven by the Greek
mathematician, Pythagoras. The Pythagorean Theorem states that the sum of the
squares of the two legs of a right triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse of the
triangle. In simpler words, when looking at the right triangle below, aВІ+bВІ=cВІ.
This major discovery in the history of mathematics lead to the accomplishments of
many other basic things we do in life. The Pythagorean Theorem does not just stop at
the famous equation of aВІ+bВІ=cВІ, but it has many other aspects. Whole numbers
that can fit into this theorem are commonly referred to as Pythagorean Triples. The
Pythagorean Theorem includes numerous amounts of poofs, from the basic proof to

Once the concept of the Pythagorean Triples was discovered, mathematicians were
eager to validate the concept. Euclid created a widely accepted formula in deriving a
Pythagorean Triple, which can be proved with the help of the unit circle and algebra.
Euclid s Formula and its Proof
Euclid s formula for a Pythagorean triple is: a = 2mn, b = m^2 n^2, c = m^2 + n^2
The variables: m and n: stand for positive, rational integers. It is important to
remember that m has to be greater than n, otherwise the statement valuing variable b
on a Pythagorean triangle would be false because b cannot
This can be understood in terms of the rational points on the unit circle. A unit circle
is a circle with the radius of 1.
We can draw a right triangle: a and b are the legs c is the hypotenuse
In the next part, we must use the trigonometric identity of sin2+cos2=1. For
representational purposes, we must look towards the following diagram for how the
triangle would be represented in this proof.
The next step in formulating this next equation would require us to find the sine and
cosine of triangleABC. The sine formula is opposite/hypotenuse, which would equate
to a/c. Additionally, the formula for cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse, equating to b/c.
Knowing the trigonometric identity, we can derive the new eqution:
For the next step, we will need to know the equation of a [unit] circle: x2 + y2 = 1
We know that
Examples Of Masculinity In The Shawshank Redemption
Masculinity Issue in The Shawshank Redemption A short synopsis from Rosanne
Salvatore and Parick Montero about this movie is: Two imprisoned men, Andy and
Red, bond over the years through their shared decency. Andy figures out how to
survive prison by upholding his own moral code and even how to escape it. The fact
that the film set place in a male prison screams the idea of masculinity. However it
might not be the kind of masculinity that is usually expected or seen in the typical
Hollywood movies. Usually men are illustrated wild, powerful, full of energy,
patriotic, and violent just like what Jackson Katz in his article, Advertising and the
Construction of Violent White Masculinity believes, that mass media plays a
significant role in reproducing and legitimatizing white masculinity through violence.
The idea off masculinity in this movie is different with the common idea of
masculinity that is usually shown through some characteristics such as wealth,
power, muscle, and such. In Shawshank Redemption, there are no gun fights, no
overwhelming action scenes, no too sentimental romance scenes... it really is a story
about men without all of the superior characteristics. So when a movie about men is
ignoring all the common masculinity elements such as wealth, power, strength,
violence or women, does that make men less men? Or... Show more content on

The white masculinity here is illustrated by Andy Dufresne s character. Meanwhile
the position of black masculinity might only be depicted by one character: Ellis
Boyd Redding or Red . However it should be underlined that the story itself is
adapted from Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabot who are, in fact, not
African Americans. This factor may or may not influence the depiction of the black
masculinity in a way because white hierarchies usually put the black as inferior to

Organizational Structure Of An Organization Essay
1.2 At least two different organizational structures are identified, described, and
compared in terms of their design principles.
Ans:
1.Organisational Structure It is a structure which is used to elaborate ranking in an
organisation. It is also define as an organizational structure which defines how
activities such as task portion, division and guidance are directed towards the
achievement of organizational purposes.
2. There are different types of organisational structures. Two of them are Organic and
Mechanistic.
Organic An organic organisation is a kind of casual association represented by
English scholars Tom burns and George Stalker. As indicated by Blazes and Stalker,
a natural association is one that is especially changeable and has the capacity adjust
well to changes. Its structure is special as having little employment activity, few
layers of administration, decentralized choice making and very little direct
supervision.
Mechanistic A mechanistic organisation is an idea grew by English scholars Tom
Burns and G.M. Stalker in their work titled the management of innovation (1961). As
indicated by them, qualities of a mechanistic organisation mix a high level of learned
many sided quality, solution and concentration.

MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus...
MRSA stands for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and was founded in the
1960 s. It was not recognized until the 1990 s when there was a breakout in the
hospitals. Healthcare professionals became frightened of this Super Bug mainly
because of the spread from one person to another. It became uncontrollable and staff
were not aware of how to prevent the spread and treat the patients. It was then that the
hospitals and nursing homes developed infection control measures in order to control
and prevent further spread of MRSA. There are two types of MRSA: Healthcare

It is imperative that staff be trained and educated on the prevention of MRSA and

MRSA is training not only staff but family members, and visitors in the nursing home

Example Of Diversification Of Amazon

Emily also arranged to have specific offices represented at a resource fair in the
lobby of MPAC for students to ask additional questions or get information before the

to be added back in, in the past, because of space this presentation was removed.
Putting this presentation back into the program was a definite win.
Emily is already instituting the following changes to fall 2017 A R. First, Emily
eliminated the concept of an invitation to A R and instead designed an A R guide that
provides necessary account initiation and registration steps but it also provides
additional information for incoming students to review. Even though our proposal for
an overnight orientation program was put on hold, Emily began developing ways to
incorporate orientation back into our Advisement Registration program. First item

be named Orientation, Advisement Registration. Choosing the name was the easy
part, making the actual changes to the program became trickier. However, Emily
continues to work her relationships and has been able to hang on to the commitment
for a 2.5 hour orientation program. This orientation component will intentionally
create ways for students to meet and make social connections, to learn areas at UMD
that can ease the transition for students, to prepare them for their advising sessions by

Umbilical Hernia
Hernias that take place near the belly button or the umbilicus is called paraumbilical
or umbilical hernias. Typically, the hole shuts off in many cases after the baby is
delivered. But in umbilical hernia, the stomach muscles fail to completely join
together and the tissues and intestines surrounding the navel bulge through the weak
spot near the umbilicus. Umbilical hernias can occur when stomach muscle opening
that helps to let umbilical cord pass through ceases to completely close. Generally,
umbilical hernias do not cause discomfort and it is painless. And although it can

child ages 2 and 3 years. But if an umbilical hernia is persistent at age 4, then it

Self-Sacrifice In A Short Story
Self sacrifice is not an easy term to use, neither to take action for, nor a relationship
to understand. To do something as easy as writing a letter to a friend whom has

life to protect someone that is dear to you.It does not have to be the situation you
are in or the problem you are facing, it could be a friend or someone close to, and
you do want to save that individual, at this right point you have to make a decision
which is you sacrificesomething you have or even you, or turn around as nothing

The stark contrast between both players may not even be in their pure production
level, but rather in their confidence. J.R Smith s confidence seems to be at an all
time high. Klay Thompson s seems to be at its lowest point since his rookie and
sophomore seasons, if that. Their roles in the offense differ, however. J.R Smith
plays about 25 minutes a game, to Klay s 35. Thompson is looked upon to do more
for Golden State, which includes but is not limited to: guarding the opposing team
s best perimeter player, coming off screens for threes, and a higher volume of shots
attempted. However, it is J.R Smith who s production will be more vital. The
Cavaliers thankfully have many safety nets for Smith in the event of lackluster
play. The addition of Kyle Korver gives Cleveland flexibility at the 2 guard spot,
with a deadeye three point shooter who can keep up with the likes of the splash
brothers in the long ball department. A defensive liability admittedly, the Cavs also
have Iman Shumpert at their disposal. A great defender who plays better off ball
defense than Smith, Shump often times has a sporadic offensive game which comes
and goes. J.R Smith will be the bearer of tremendous burden. Looked upon to be
that fourth scorer for Cleveland s front line, Smith will have to come into the lineup
prepared to play smart above all things, and execute at an efficient rate. The Warriors

Art Gallery At The Powerhouse Museum And The First

The 21st century has seen a dramatic increase in the challenges facing cultural
institutions, particularly museums. One of the most pressing issues currently facing
museums worldwide is the diminishing level of government support. Despite
reductions in government funding, the sustained maintenance of museumcollections
and facilities continues to require substantial resources. In the face of such
difficulties, a growing number of museums have turned to innovative programming,
specifically exhibitions, as a way to ensure financial viability through increased
attendance. Given the growing competition for consumer leisure time in today s
society, attention has shifted away from traditional scholarly collection based
exhibitions, towards the populist exhibition format offered by blockbuster
exhibitions. Through a discussion of Harry Potterв„ў: The Exhibition at the
Powerhouse Museum and the First Emperor: China s Entombed Warriors at the Art
Gallery of New South Wales, this essay will examine the two approaches museums
are taking to the blockbuster model. It will be argued that although exhibitions
reflecting popular culture are becoming increasingly more common, there are
institutions that manage to reflect popular taste in ways that continue to advance
scholarship and create opportunities for lifelong learning.
Museological literature offers many definitions of the blockbuster exhibition.
According to Elsen, a blockbuster is a large scale loan exhibition which people who

When I was in elementary and middle school I would use pencil grips because I did

assistive technologies because there are so many things that you can do on the

that teachers need to use all of their resources. There are so many items and ways to

Grant Wilson Voluntary Administration Case
Arrium board recommends voluntary administration: Sword hangs over the future of
the Whyalla unit
After failed negotiations with its lenders, the Arrium board has decided to go into
voluntary administration. The board has appointed Grant Thornton as an independent
administrator and executive controls will be transferred to them immediately.
Arrium management was locked in tense negotiations with the lenders syndicate led
by the four banks to find an acceptable solution to the large debt overhang over the
company. However, due to loss of confidence between both the management and the
lenders, an acceptable solution was difficult to achieve.
Both were pushing to appoint their own administrators. The banks wanted to appoint

Our focus will be to stabilise current trading, maintain business as usual across the
group s affected operations, identify ways to restore the performance of key business
units and develop an optimal solution that maximises the return of creditors.
Grant Thornton intends to meet the creditors within four business days.
The decision to enter voluntary administration puts a question mark on the future of
the loss making Whyalla unit. While speaking to the reporters in Adelaide on
Thursday, Labour MP Kate Ellis, said that the state government will not be able to
make a difference and save jobs on its own and it was not correct to give the Arrium
workers false hopes.
In the whole process, the only party which is most affected are the workers of the
Whyalla based steel unit for no fault of theirs. The management walked away
handing over the administration to Grant Thornton, the banks though will take a
haircut on their lending s, but they too will survive, however, the workers who have
toiled hard for the company for decades will face the
Significance Of The Bruce Invasion
The Bruce Invasion, initiated by Robert Bruce, king of Scotland, and enacted on
by his brother Edward Bruce, was a way for Scotland to secure resources and
troops from Ireland. At the time, Ireland was giving resources over to England.
Meanwhile, England and Scotland were at war with one another. Ireland was just a
proxy for these two other sides to gain something, whether it be resources, political
ally ship, or troops to fight off the other force s army. The Bruce invasion of Ireland
was less about the Irish people and more about how The English and Scottish could
secure troops and resources. This invasion was more about how ether side could
keep or gain power, but at the consequence of Ireland and the people living there.
There are many reasons as to why the Bruce Invasion happened. But as for how it
happened, wee... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now as for why is happened, Bruce took political advantage of what was going on at
the time. One of the events at the time was a consciousness of a Gaelic identity in
Scotland, Ireland and Wales that Bruce was taking advantage of (MacNamee). It was
inevitable, too, that the Gaelic revival gained momentum, the settlers should come
over the influence of the culture of Gaelic Ireland (269 Lydon), not only are those in
Ireland aware of this Gaelic identity, Bruce s reasoning for demanding Irish troops
was to unite them all under a united Gaelic identity and fight against England in order
to stop them from acclimating more resources. Resources where a major issue
during the invasion. At the time there was a significantly bad famine that was
affecting the resources, but Ireland still had ti ship what little they had to England
anyway. It was not the local Irish needs, however, that immediately prompted this
attempt to increase revenues but rather the need of Edward II to meet the demands
of the renewed war in Scotland (Lydon 276). Here we see the lack of
Common Infection Among Women During Child Bearing
Period
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a common infection among women, it can affect
up to 75% of women during child bearing period. VVC usually associated with
considerable morbidity; symptoms include intense pruritus, vaginal discharge and
dyspareunia. Many factors have been identified to predispose to such condition such
as oral contraceptive pills, pregnancy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and long term
broad spectrum antibiotic (Cassone, 2015, Falagas et al., 2006). Beyond the normal
host, the range of patients at risk for invasive candidiasisexpand to patients with
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, those immunosuppressed due to cancer
therapy and organ transplantation (Bassyouni et al., 2015a).
Recurrent VVC (RVVC) is a more serious condition due to recurrences of symptoms
( 4/year) and refraction to successful treatment. Long term fluconazole therapy may
help in delaying the recurrences but does not result in a long lasting cure (Sobel et
al., 2004). Maintenance and preventive therapy is essential for six months but,
patients may need to stay on medication for a longer period (Ringdahl, 2000).
Recent epidemiological studies founded the prevalence of RVVC higher than that
reported previously as the recurrence rate about 7 8% of women who experience a
first episode and the discomfort associated with RVVC is intense which markedly
affects the quality of life of young women with a strong negative impact on work and
social life (Cassone, 2015).

HOW DOES CHARLES DICKENS CREATE SUSPENSE IN THE SIGNAL MAN?
Dickens creates suspense in the signal man by keeping us interested in a number of
ways. He portrays the mysterious and deadly setting, the introduction of the signal
man and the impression of the narrator fully. He also describes the spooky sight of
the first ghost, the unusual second appearance of a ghost and the death aboard the
train.
Dickens presents the setting of his story vividly. Often, he uses such personification
as angry sunset ; to show that the narrator may be angry as the sun would be
blazing down in his eyes. This helps create suspense and make us want to read more.
Immediately in the book, we are shown the setting. It is described as a deep ... Show

The narrator believes that he is exact and ingulant and the safest of men employed ,
which starts to build our curiosity not only of the man as he is gloomy and exact, but
the plot. We start to expect that something bad will happen and even a major twist in
the plot.
In addition, we are told that he perused the fixed eyes and that the signal man gave
grave dark regards which adds more to our little understanding of the mysterious
character. Grave dark regards is made to sound as a warning as I believe he talked
slowly, unsure of the man s (narrator) up coming actions.
The Signal Man is a ghost story, and as any story develops the writer must introduce
the spectre. To keep our interest in the book, he portrays the narrator s feelings
against the signal man s visions.
Dickens writes, a disagreeable shudder crept over me , which suggests he was
scared of the man s story but refused to believe it. He may have refused to believe
this as in those days, religion was much dominant than it is now and in England
around this time was Christian, and some parts of the teachings see spectres as
unclean and as blasphemy. However, the narrator does not come over as religious,
he is more scientific and perhaps believes it is the signal man s own delusions. The
signal man was said to have talked a tone lower than a whisper , that suggests he was
weary of talking. The word whisper to me is

Symbolism And Symbolism In Emily Bronte s Wuthering
Heights
I wish I were a girl again, half savage and hardy and free, said Emily Bronte. What
Emily mean by that quote was that she would like to go back in time and be free.
Emily made that quote thinking about her life. Emily Bronte had an interesting life
full of obstacles, but she showed much potential in her work, such as her book,
Wuthering Heights.
Emily Bronte was born in Thornton, England on July 30, 1818. Her father Patrick
Bronte, her mother Maria Branwell had a family of six children: Charlotte, Anne,
Elizabeth, Maria, Emily and Branwell Bronte. When Emily was six years old, she
was sent to Clergy Daughters School with Charlotte and her two oldest sisters,
Elizabeth and Maria. When her sisters died, Maria and Elizabeth, in 1825, Emily ...

After Emily Bronte book, The Wuthering Heights, was published, she received many
critics. People would say it was idiotic, disordered, confusing and rehabilitation. They
would use unnatural or preternaturalness to describe Bronte s novel and characters.
What people mostly critic was the importance of illness and debility to Wuthering

nineteenth century which it was idiotic in the description of Hareton.Bronte would

Who I Am
Ramana Maharshi is known for his famous quote, Who am I? Not the body,
because it is decaying; not the mind, because the brain will decay with the body;
not the personality, nor the emotions, for these also will vanish with death
(Quotes). This is a similar question almost everyone at some point in their lives
ask. Personally, my identity was a big issue during my teenage years and I had a
lot questions such as Who am I? Who do I belong to? I did not have the answers at
that time. Nevertheless, as life progressed, I was able to come across certain life
events, experiences and people who helped me to discover who I truly am I am a
conqueror and a legitimately strong woman. My parents, siblings and generally the
people around me have continually played a key role in helping me to discover
myself. I know who my parents are, my date of birth, I am an English speaker, I
know most people around me, particularly my family, I know they love me and I
love them too. I have known my names, my weaknesses and strengths, my
emotions and learnt about myself majorly through my family. Everyone around me
has had a huge impact on my life and through interaction with them, I have been
able to know what works best for me and what does not. Through my family, I have
been able to identify my origin, culture and identity by taking interest in their ways
of life. For example, I am a Catholic and I know some of my weaknesses relate to
my family members. Just like Amy Tan, who says, Lately,
Comparison Of Alexander Mcqueen And Marc Jacobs
What do Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander
McQueen have in common? They are designers who have challenged ideas on gender
norms. (Marcangell, pg.1) McQueen fearlessly challenged the conventions of fashion.
Rare among designers, he saw beyond clothing s physical constraints to its conceptual
and imaginative possibilities. (Victoria and Albert Museum, 2015)

which was credited with launching the grunge look of the 1990s. (Nolen, para. 1)
Working on his approaches, McQueen composed a dark, disturbing mood and

Is Seagram A Long History Of Success From The Company
And...
Definition of Project: Seagram has enjoyed a long history of success from its
inception in 1924 with a single distillery in Canada to a world wise company.
During this timeframe, global recognition has afforded Seagram the opportunity to
grow to 14,000 employees as well as creatively diversify in a manner than many
companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil companies as well as what
some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such as Dole Food
Company, Inc. created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company
and create a secure future. In addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA
Inc., which includes Universal Studios and them parks as well as electric companies
build an impressive portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that highly diversified
organizations are more successful, firms whose business units are highly related to
each other, such as in a focused company, are outperformed by those whose business
units are moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012, p.14). Although this
argument makes little sense, Seagram has, for years, experienced the benefits of
being highly diversified. With the strength of diversification Seagram has created
over its long life offers a firm foundation for future growth and stability. The objective
of this current project is to evaluate the assets and design a plan that will utilize the
strengths of the organization while shoring up new systems to realign Seagram for
maximum growth

My Life Goals
Mahatma Gandhi once said The future depends on what you do today. Which can
be interpreted as, whatever happens to you now will affect you later. This is why I
am setting goals now for my future. The goals that I set now, which are to spend
more time with my family, avoid stress, and break the all timescoring average in golf,
are intended to improve my life in the future. In order to improve my life in the
future, I want to spend more time with my family. Spending more time with my
family now will help give them good memories to remember me by, when I
eventually move out of our house. Having a happy family makes me feel happy,
so if I can make them happy now, they may remember the Good Ol Days later and
become happy. I remember when I was a child playing baseball with my family
watching. It seemed like every game, no matter what, they always had a happy
look on their face, which made me happy. To this day my Dad still talks about
when me and my brothers played baseball, and every time he remembers us he
becomes full of joy. In order to achieve this goal I need to put down the devices,
have family nights, like play board games or go out to eat, and take family
vacations at least once a year. Putting my phone away gives me more time to spend
with my family, instead of going on Snapchat or Twitter. Playing board games brings
the whole familytogether, which promotes conversations. Taking family vacations
can relieve the stress of home and work to make the family become

How Courage Depicted In The Film Invictus

Three example scenes from the movie that illustrates courage are when Mandela

The price of $15 per month or equivalent in other regions, are a standard set by
previous successful developers within the market. The pricing structure provides
foresight of future profits based on subscription levels. Increased monthly
subscriptions have become more unattractive as other platforms for massive
multiplayer games have moved towards free to play gaming and focus their
revenue earning on selling in game items. Consumers have steadily started to
consider other games that have no cost to play. Free to play games have been
known to rise quickly in subscriptions while still generating revenue from frequent
players. Repeat players often seek out premium items paid for with cash. These
items create a virtual market for virtual items and provide value by making them
premium items or services. Supply cost has decreased as technology improves and
becomes cheaper in price. Supply for this market is based on the server performance
with high volumes of users; along with, connection speeds for sending data back to
users. Both of these variables are highly adjustable to meet minimum requirements.
When servers or connection speed lack in performance, these types of games become
affected by latency issues and make the game unplayable while online. Server
performance is critical in maintaining player satisfaction along with other attributes in
the game design. Improved technology has allowed developers to host

that from afar those hundreds of houses were being built and organized in
preparation for hundreds of families. Personally, I am interested in the development

The end of the war opened new avenues for the American public due to new
innovations in technology and organization (Marshall, 1979). Abraham Levitt, an
American entrepreneur, established a community in Nassau County, Long Island.
Levitt converted former farmland into a suburban community where thousands of
individuals could find housing. Approximately, 17,000 houses were built and sold
or rented to middle income families (Naish, 2014). Among the American
population, there was a desire for individual freedom following World War II. One
being able to attain a large living space and accumulate material wealth became
engrained in the American Dream. Many realized that the suburbs and living in
planned subdivisions of land was an affordable option. This led to the growth of
suburbia throughout the late 20th century. These same desires are what allow the
suburbs to flourish today. The US Census Bureau published in 2002 The
Demographic Trends of the 20th Century. In the 20th century, the American
population grew from 76 million to 281 million, with 80% of the 281 million living
in urban areas. It is the suburbs that represented the largest degree of growth.
Suburbia houses over 50% of the American people (Hobbs et al., 2014).
While providing high quality housing for millions of people across North America,
the sprawl of Suburbia has harmed the
Analysis Of Al Lowe And Sierra On-Line
Al Lowe and Sierra On Line released Larry Laffer s first adventure in 1987. The
premise of the Larry games is one most of us guys can relate too: hook up with some
smoking hot women. In 2013 an enhanced version was released after a successful
kickstarter campaign. The game has underwent quite the graphical overhaul in this
enhanced release, however most of the original concepts remain intact.
And that is a good thing, because Leisure Suit Larry is a hilarious game. Al Lowe has
created a game with a juvenile sense of humor that dares you keep a straight face.
The, quite frankly, ridiculous situations Larry stumbles into sticks with you after
finishing the game. The puzzles are excellently rooted in reality. Larry needs wine

How to Communicate with a Fish
It s 5 A.M. and the darkness surrounds us. The sun and the birds will rise in about
one hour. Our blue baseball caps rest next to us on the front seat of the truck. The
boat is ready with equipment, supplies, and of course, our lunch for the day. Now,
let s catch a fish...or two. Determining where the fish are biting is our first key to
success. The water must be calm, clean, lukewarm, and an average depth of
sixteen feet. There is a perfect spot we know about nestled around an island in a
nearby lake. Before placing the boat into the water, the check to see if the oars are
attached and ready for rowing. Go lightly with the Sevylor 12V trolling motor to
the perfect spot using the depth finder. Drop the anchors slowly so that you do not
scare the fish away. Before we begin to fish, we must first take care of a few items.
Selecting a pole is next on deck and it is determined by many factors, including the
type of material. Two types that I prefer are graphite and fiberglass. The
combination makes a high quality, resistant, yet flexible, pole that gives just
enough to fool the fish into thinking they are about to eat breakfast. The handle
should be made of cork and should also be of a high quality, light material,
allowing a comfortable grip. The right cork can also transmit the vibrations of the
big bass nipping at the worm. You have selected the perfect pole, now it needs the
precise reel to bring those fish in. There are many types of casting reels. My choice is

  • 1. Phrases To Use In Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Phrases To Use In Essays" may initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the intricacies of this subject reveals its complexity. Crafting a well-structured and engaging essay requires more than just compiling a list of phrases. It demands a nuanced understanding of language, context, and the art of effective communication. Firstly, one must grapple with the challenge of selecting phrases that not only enhance the essay's readability but also convey the intended message with precision. The balance between simplicity and sophistication is crucial, as overly complex phrases may alienate readers, while overly simplistic ones might fail to convey the depth of thought. Furthermore, the writer must navigate the diverse purposes these phrases serve – from introducing ideas and providing transitions to emphasizing key points or contrasting arguments. Achieving coherence and flow in the essay requires a keen awareness of how these phrases contribute to the overall structure and logical progression of the content. Moreover, the task involves considering the audience and the context in which the essay will be read. Different phrases may be suitable for academic essays, persuasive pieces, or creative writing. Adapting the language to resonate with the target audience adds another layer of difficulty. Additionally, the challenge lies in avoiding the trap of overusing clichГ©s or relying on a limited set of phrases. A well-crafted essay on this topic should encourage diversity in expression, promoting a rich and varied vocabulary. In conclusion, writing an essay on "Phrases To Use In Essays" requires more than just assembling a collection of words; it demands a deep understanding of language nuances, audience dynamics, and effective communication. Striking the right balance, maintaining coherence, and adapting to the specific requirements of the context make this task a challenging but rewarding endeavor. • 5. The Growth Of Population Growth Essay The present rate of population growth is one of the most significant environmental issues we as humans are facing. The exponential growth at which the population is moving is having direct impacts on climate, energy, poverty, food, the global economy, and politics (Why Population Matters). The world populationis currently 7.3 billion people and there is growing doubt that the planet is able to sustain human needs and resource consumption (Population Concern). The expansion of human population is impacting countries, societies, and cultures around the world differently. These differences can occur due to, environmental, political, and societal factors that can determine the severity of the issue and how the country decides to respond. The population is growing at exponential rates and can be expressed by calculating the double time, which is the number of years it takes for population size to double (Harper, Chapter 5). For developed countries, the calculated double time is longer than that of a developing country (Harper, Chapter 5). • 8. Mental Illness And Self Identity This issue is relevant because mental illness and self identity are starting to become a popular topic in our society. People are starting to realize that even though it may be a difficult subject to speak and learn about, it is important and should be addressed in our society. This issue is important because it helps people embrace who they are and learn about the issues instead of hating on themselves for being different and not knowing the real facts about the issue. If we do not learn how to treat mental illnessand accept ourselves, we will never move forward in society and learn how to help others and ourselves with these topics. By learning more about these topics we can help our society grow, by discovering new ways to help people with these problems. We could decrease major issues in our society like mass shootings, and teen suicide. With this topic we can make our society more aware and inclusive of those with these issues. Currently, mental health is a major topic in our society with mass shootings and major crises with our government because everyone says that the shooters were not in a good mental state, which made them do these terrible things. During the 1500 s, the conflict and tension between Catholics and Protestants brought about new levels of violence in Paris and surrounding areas. Despite the authorities of Paris attempts at maintaining peace and order, Catholics were determined to rid the streets of unwanted Protestants. On August 24th, 1572, a day known to Catholics as St. Bartholomew s Day , thousands of Protestants were murdered by Catholics. From then on, this day was known as The St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre. Authors Barbra Diefendorf, and Philip Benedict both wrote about this devastating time in history with contrasting approaches to the issue. Though sharing in some similarities, the approaches in which Diefendorf and Benedict take on the St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre are significantly contrastive. The authors provide different theories to why the massacre occurred, as well as disclose information about important events that occurred during different times. When considering a massacre as extensive as the one that occurred on St. Bartholomew s Day in 1572, it is unlikely that there would be just one sole cause. Authors Diefendorf and Benedict focused on varying theories related to the causes of the Parismassacre in each of their accounts. In Diefendorf s version, she chose to not only look at the contributions made by the King and Paris s authorities to the massacre, but also at the relationship between the authorities and the Parisians themselves. There are multiple acknowledgments made

With snow on the ground, ice on the windshield, and below freezing temperatures to battle with throughout the day, most people just want to get getaway from it all and for good reasons too. If you haven t felt it yet, it might important to note that: the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays, when it s time to take down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and prepare yourself for the upcoming year. That s because the vast majority of people find that winter is an extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy and excitement about practically anything. Fortunately, a visit to any of your favorite warmer climate destinations will have you forgetting about the slush, ice, snow boots, and dark season in no time. So, if you find that you re unmotivated, checked out, and heavy hearted, try to fight these feelings by taking steps towards the light even in the darkest part of winter. That, of course, is easier said than done for some people. If you and your family are in need of a winter vacation but if cost is a major factor, consider one of these affordable and super fun destinations where your money will go a lot farther. Not only is this nutrient required in the largest quantity by plants, but it is also the most frequently limiting factor when it comes to productivity in crops. Plants cannot use nitrogen in the air and in the soil system it is lost easily. Because of this plants are forced to obtain nitrogenin the form of nitrateand ammonium from the soil. Too much nitrate can cause a negative effect on the plantincluding nitrate toxicity. If the rate at which the nitrate is reduced is lower then uptake, then accumulation of large amounts of nitrate can occur. No accumulation occurs when the rate of uptake equals the rate of reduction. Accumulation of nitrate usually results from plant stress, such as drought, and is made more prominent by excessive soil nitrogen. Other forms of plant stress that cause accumulation of nitrate involve the restriction of plant growth while the absorption of nitrate from soil still continues. Some of these forms include certain herbicides, frost, acid soils, deficiencies of essential nutrients, low growing temperatures, and finally reduced sunlight. Due to the fact that nitrate accumulation builds up the most in plant stems instead of leaves. (3) Nitrate content in vegetables is influenced primarily by light intensity and nitrogen fertilization. Diurnal changes in light intensity lead to a diurnal pattern, a pattern that recurs every 24 hours as a result of one full rotation of the Earth, in nitrate accumulation in plants. (4) When plants receive too much nitrogen in the form of nitrate through its soil, it can have several detrimental effects on it. Too much nitrogen in plants can deplete the plant s carbohydrate reserves more rapidly, stimulate rapid shoot growth while slowing down root growth, and result in thinner more succulent leaf tissue, which increases moisture loss. Other effects include predisposing the plant to greater insect

The next step in formulating this next equation would require us to find the sine and cosine of triangleABC. The sine formula is opposite/hypotenuse, which would equate to a/c. Additionally, the formula for cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse, equating to b/c. Here, as seen in so much of McQueen s subsequent work, the themes of sex, death and commerce intertwined. Going beneath the skin of conventional fashion, McQueen s first collections explored the taboo area of interiority, going beyond the limitations between inside and out. (Evans, para.8) The fantasy of exploring and probing the interior of the body, he actively explored the tropes of abjection in relation to the female body. As shown in the process of working for his collection, It s a Jungle Out , he mentioned in an
  • 50. Is Seagram A Long History Of Success From The Company And... Definition of Project: Seagram has enjoyed a long history of success from its inception in 1924 with a single distillery in Canada to a world wise company. During this timeframe, global recognition has afforded Seagram the opportunity to grow to 14,000 employees as well as creatively diversify in a manner than many companies could not imagine. Unique purchases of oil companies as well as what some might argue to be more logical partnerships like fruit juices such as Dole Food Company, Inc. created continued accomplishments that would shore up the company and create a secure future. In addition calculated investments with DuPont, MCA Inc., which includes Universal Studios and them parks as well as electric companies build an impressive portfolio for Seagram as well. We know that highly diversified organizations are more successful, firms whose business units are highly related to each other, such as in a focused company, are outperformed by those whose business units are moderately unrelated to each other (Graham, 2012, p.14). Although this argument makes little sense, Seagram has, for years, experienced the benefits of being highly diversified. With the strength of diversification Seagram has created over its long life offers a firm foundation for future growth and stability. The objective of this current project is to evaluate the assets and design a plan that will utilize the strengths of the organization while shoring up new systems to realign Seagram for maximum growth

  • 52. My Life Goals Mahatma Gandhi once said The future depends on what you do today. Which can be interpreted as, whatever happens to you now will affect you later. This is why I am setting goals now for my future. The goals that I set now, which are to spend more time with my family, avoid stress, and break the all timescoring average in golf, are intended to improve my life in the future. In order to improve my life in the future, I want to spend more time with my family. Spending more time with my family now will help give them good memories to remember me by, when I eventually move out of our house. Having a happy family makes me feel happy, so if I can make them happy now, they may remember the Good Ol Days later and become happy. I remember when I was a child playing baseball with my family watching. It seemed like every game, no matter what, they always had a happy look on their face, which made me happy. To this day my Dad still talks about when me and my brothers played baseball, and every time he remembers us he becomes full of joy. In order to achieve this goal I need to put down the devices, have family nights, like play board games or go out to eat, and take family vacations at least once a year. Putting my phone away gives me more time to spend with my family, instead of going on Snapchat or Twitter. Playing board games brings the whole familytogether, which promotes conversations. Taking family vacations can relieve the stress of home and work to make the family become

The price of $15 per month or equivalent in other regions, are a standard set by previous successful developers within the market. The pricing structure provides foresight of future profits based on subscription levels. Increased monthly subscriptions have become more unattractive as other platforms for massive multiplayer games have moved towards free to play gaming and focus their revenue earning on selling in game items. Consumers have steadily started to consider other games that have no cost to play. Free to play games have been known to rise quickly in subscriptions while still generating revenue from frequent players. Repeat players often seek out premium items paid for with cash. These items create a virtual market for virtual items and provide value by making them premium items or services. Supply cost has decreased as technology improves and becomes cheaper in price. Supply for this market is based on the server performance with high volumes of users; along with, connection speeds for sending data back to users. Both of these variables are highly adjustable to meet minimum requirements. When servers or connection speed lack in performance, these types of games become affected by latency issues and make the game unplayable while online. Server performance is critical in maintaining player satisfaction along with other attributes in the game design. Improved technology has allowed developers to host

The Destructive Sprawl of the Suburbia on the Environment Growing up in Northern Toronto, it had never occurred to me that the neighbourhood I was living in was planned long before my neighbors or I decided to move and build this a community. As I grew older and I started to notice new areas being built I noticed that from afar those hundreds of houses were being built and organized in preparation for hundreds of families. Personally, I am interested in the development of subdivisions and the suburbs due to my family owning a property around the area of Lake Simcoe. It seems as though that with every passing year it takes another few kilometers or minutes to escape the confines of the citydue to the growth of the suburbs around... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The end of the war opened new avenues for the American public due to new innovations in technology and organization (Marshall, 1979). Abraham Levitt, an American entrepreneur, established a community in Nassau County, Long Island. Levitt converted former farmland into a suburban community where thousands of individuals could find housing. Approximately, 17,000 houses were built and sold or rented to middle income families (Naish, 2014). Among the American population, there was a desire for individual freedom following World War II. One being able to attain a large living space and accumulate material wealth became engrained in the American Dream. Many realized that the suburbs and living in planned subdivisions of land was an affordable option. This led to the growth of suburbia throughout the late 20th century. These same desires are what allow the suburbs to flourish today. The US Census Bureau published in 2002 The Demographic Trends of the 20th Century. In the 20th century, the American population grew from 76 million to 281 million, with 80% of the 281 million living in urban areas. It is the suburbs that represented the largest degree of growth. Suburbia houses over 50% of the American people (Hobbs et al., 2014). While providing high quality housing for millions of people across North America, the sprawl of Suburbia has harmed the

The premise of the Larry games is one most of us guys can relate too: hook up with some smoking hot women. In 2013 an enhanced version was released after a successful kickstarter campaign. The game has underwent quite the graphical overhaul in this enhanced release, however most of the original concepts remain intact. And that is a good thing, because Leisure Suit Larry is a hilarious game. Al Lowe has created a game with a juvenile sense of humor that dares you keep a straight face. The, quite frankly, ridiculous situations Larry stumbles into sticks with you after finishing the game. The puzzles are excellently rooted in reality. Larry needs wine and condoms for

Our blue baseball caps rest next to us on the front seat of the truck. The boat is ready with equipment, supplies, and of course, our lunch for the day. Now, let s catch a fish...or two. Determining where the fish are biting is our first key to success. The water must be calm, clean, lukewarm, and an average depth of sixteen feet. There is a perfect spot we know about nestled around an island in a nearby lake. Before placing the boat into the water, the check to see if the oars are attached and ready for rowing. Go lightly with the Sevylor 12V trolling motor to the perfect spot using the depth finder. Drop the anchors slowly so that you do not scare the fish away. Before we begin to fish, we must first take care of a few items. Selecting a pole is next on deck and it is determined by many factors, including the type of material. Two types that I prefer are graphite and fiberglass. The combination makes a high quality, resistant, yet flexible, pole that gives just enough to fool the fish into thinking they are about to eat breakfast. The handle should be made of cork and should also be of a high quality, light material, allowing a comfortable grip. The right cork can also transmit the vibrations of the big bass nipping at the worm. You have selected the perfect pole, now it needs the precise reel to bring those fish in. There are many types of casting reels. My choice is the bait
