Bernard Sanders
The 2016 Presidential Campaign candidate, Bernie Sanders, believes in creating a better America.
In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote
for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. The political figures in government
care about money and wealth, not the people. Bernard Sanders would be the best choice for
President for the main reason that he is concerned that the issues in America creates inequality for
the people. Sanders supports social and economic equality.

Character Analysis Of Uncle Tom s Cabin
Published in 1852, Harriet Beecher Stowe used Uncle Tom s Cabin as a platform to address the
harsh reality of slavery while emphasizing the importance of Christian values. Though a quite
controversial novel because of its views on race, it has gained recognition as one of the best anti
slavery novels of its time. Through its contrasting characterization of Eva and Topsy, Stowe s Uncle
Tom s Cabin highlights the corrupted influence of slaveryon blacks, while applying racial
stereotypes to the characters in the novel.
Character introductions play a very important part in how the character is viewed by the reader
throughout the rest of the plot; first impressions are the most lasting. We first see Evangeline St.

Clare, she is a mere form of entertainment. Topsy is a sort of wild child in the novel, she is
mischievous, she lies, and she steals. Topsy even referred to herself as the wickedest critter in
the world (367). It s not the matter of whether she knows what she s doing is wrong, Topsy s
behavior and actions are an indication of the facts that she s never been loved or cared for.
Readers can t avoid feeling sympathetic towards her because she is just a product of her
environment. She was brought up in conditions that are less than ideal for the proper upbringing of
a child.
Eva and Topsy contrast each other severely. They differ in appearances, mannerisms, and they
certainly have had different childhoods. However, they both have had profound impacts on
other characters in the novel. Of all the characters in the novel, Eva has helped transform the
most characters. Eva s inherent goodness and beliefs in equality and Christian values inspired
Uncle Tom, her father, Miss Ophelia, as well as the other slaves. Her words of kindness and love
even made an impression on Topsy; which was seen as a turning point for Topsy s actions in the
novel. Both Eva and Topsy had a significant impact on Miss Ophelia. When Ophelia first had the
job of educating Topsy, she only saw Topsy as a little plague that she wanted nothing to do with.
However, when she saw Eva s interaction with Topsy and her ability to love her, despite her being
a slave, she too

The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus...
The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus Complex By Frank O Connor
These two stories are very different upon first glance. For example one is about a pair of half
brothers set in Victorian times and the other is about a small child named Larry who thinks he s a
lot wiser then he is. However, if you look deeper you can start to find similarities between the two.
They have similar themes, and links can be made between them.
A big difference between them is the titles. For example The Half
Brothers is a very self evident title but My Oedipus Complex is a little more obscure. My Oedipus
Complex is ironic because although
Larry does have a strong attachment to his mother it is an exaggeration to call it an ... Show more

For example in The Half
Brothers William Preston begs God for forgiveness after realising how wrongly he had treated
Gregory and in My Oedipus Complex Larry and his father forgive each other because they are in
the same situation at the end of the story. Using the theme of forgiveness in stories that also have
the theme of jealousy makes the reader feel that everything must come to an end whether it is
good or bad because forgiveness is an end to jealousy and also to both stories.
There is also a less obvious theme in the stories of religion. For example we heard mass at St
Augustine s and said a prayer for father in My Oedipus Complex and God s will be done in The Half
Brothers . This use of religion in the stories sets the period as nowadays most people are not very
religious. It shows that in the past
God was very important to the average person and had a big influence on their lives and the
decisions they made.
Reasons for some of the differences between the stories may be because they were written and set
in very different periods. For example The
Half Brothers was set in Victorian times when it was also written but
My Oedipus Complex was set just after the First World War but written much later then that. This
makes the authors present the themes in very different ways. Frank O Connor is more light hearted
in his presentation of jealousy whereas Elizabeth Gaskell is definitely more morbid and

Desiree s Baby by Kate Chopin Essay
Imagine finding out that your entire life was a lie, and that every single thing you knew about
your identity and your family was completely false! Armand Aubigny, one of the main characters
in Desiree s Baby by Kate Chopin, experiences this exact dilemma throughout this short story.
Desiree s Baby is a story about a young man and woman, who fall in love, but Desiree, who does
not know her birth parents, is considered nameless. When she and Armand have a child, they are
both very surprised because the child s skin color is not white as expected. It is obvious that the
child is biracial, and immediately, Desiree is blamed for the color of the child s skin because of her
uncertain background. The truth, however, is that it is Armand who has... Show more content on

He shows his passionate love for Desiree when he states It was no wonder, when she stood one
day against the stone pillar I whose shadow she has lain asleep, eighteen years before, that
Armand Aubigny riding by and seeing her there, had fallen in love with her. (Madden 947 )
According to the narrator all of the Aubigny s fell victim to the love at first sight theory! Chopin
brilliantly explains the ways of the Aubigny men by writing that was the way the Aubigny s fell
in love, as if struck by a pistol shot (Madden 947) The reader also sees Armand s passion when he
is warned by about Desiree s unknown identity, be he does not care. The narrator continues to
say , The passion that awoke in him that day, when he saw her at the gate, swept along like an
avalanche, or like a prairie fire, or like anything that drives headlong over all obstacles. (Chopin
947 ) Unfortunately for Armand, the obstacles he and his family Walko 3 were going to face
would prove to be too much for him to handle. As you continue to read this short story you realize
that Armand is an arrogant man who is passionate and very proud of his families status and
accomplishments yet despite advancements in the freeing of the slaves, he remains a racist.
Armand is also characteristically a very proud person. Proud of his heritage because he comes from
a prominent, wealthy family of Louisiana. During this time period,

Descriptive Essay About Plane Trip
It was 8 o clock in the morning when we boarded the plane for Hawaii. My parents were waiting
for this trip for a long time. Mom was a flight attendant that was based in Hawaii, and Dad was
living here while doing collage. We have never been on a trip like this before. We have gone on
car trips, but never on a plane. As we were boarding the plane my brother, Lowden and I were in
awe of what we saw. There was a tunnel leading to the plane with little windows you could look
outside with. It was a rainy day outside, and with little drops of water just enough to make you
cool. We got inside the plane with flight attendants greeting us by putting flowers in our hair. Our

Edna is very passionate and critical of her painting. After Adele has a fainting spell from her long
day and retires inside Robert invites Edna to join him on the beach to bathe in the heat. Edna
looks toward the water and feels a draw to it. The water is a source of strength for Edna she
follows Robert down to the welcoming Gulf. Edna can not understand why she wants to go with
Robert down to the water nut she feels drawn and the conflicting impulses which would steer her
away from the proposal seem to disappear. Mrs. Pontellier was beginning to understand her
position in the universe as a human being. Edna, up until now, had been going through the
motions of being a wife, mother and woman in the society in which she has lived. The ocean to
Edna is a place where she feels comfort and although she does not fully understand why she is
drawn to it, she goes. She likes the way the water feels when she enters it with Robert. It is a new
feeling for her.
Edna also finds comfort in spending time with Adele whom she adores. They spend some time
together on the beach to escape Robert one time and talk. The two become close friends. Edna
tells Adele that looking over the beach and the water reminds her of her days in Kentucky as a
child. This time with Adele at the beach looking over the water also helps to further spark Edna s
passion as a painter.

Relationship Between Cancer And Alzheimer s Disease
Results from the Framingham Heart Study published by Driver et al, 2012(27) discussed the
relationship between cancer and Alzheimer s disease, using hazard ratios and 95% confidence
intervals. From this, it was concluded that cancer vulnerability may protect against Alzheimer s,
and vice versa. It was suggested that this may be due to both diseases sharing similar genes and
proteins, providing even more reason to research further into proteins such as the immunophilins,
which have a role in both diseases. Analysis of genes from large databases would further improve
knowledge on the immunophilins.

A Sorrowful Woman By Gail Godwin Essay
A Sorrowful Woman
While reading many kinds of literature about women s rights and suffrages. One of them is call
The Sorrowful Woman . The story is a mournful story presenting the readers the heart of a woman
sometimes in the 1970s. The author who wrote the story named Gail Godwin portrays a woman
character in a way that shows us how women feel towards marriage and motherhood. The story
sets in a home in which the typical mother has to take care of her house, husband, and child. She
has to cook, do the laundry, and all the house chores that society tells women to do. However, one
day she had quit her duties as a mother and wife, which shows the readers how it affects her
family and herself. As I read the story about this sorrowful woman, I feel that the woman in the
story is mentally ill and is a weak selfish character who only pities herself.
The author describes the woman s husband as being durable, receptive, and gentle. She also has
a son whom the author describes as a golden tender three (Godwin 38). However, despite having
a wonderful husband and a sweet child; she becomes sick of seeing them every day, and isolate
herself as the story goes on. The reason for her isolation could be related to how women lived
back near the 1970s. Many women in the 1970s were mothers who stayed at home to take care of
their husband and children. I believe the author wanted to portray the woman in a way that shows
how many women probably felt back in the 1970s, but were too

An example of Stetson s great work is seen in her short story, The Yellow Wallpaper, in which
she illustrates a family where feminism does not exist to prove her point on the equality among

Something s Got Ta Give By Diane Keaton
In society age is a key aspect in the way people view others and how they communicate, a person
s age sets a tone for the language they use in communication with different groups be it their
peers, elders, or the young. Three aspects of age in society are communication, ability, and
socially constructed stigmas. Many of such aspects are portrayed in the movie Something s Gotta
Give , where a swinger on the cusp of being a senior citizen with a taste for young women falls in
love with an accomplished womancloser to his age. Harry, the soon to be senior citizen is played
by Jack Nicholas and Erica, played by Diane Keaton is an accomplished writer and the mother of
Harry s young companion. The movie makes you stop and think; what does age mean in the
dating world today. In the world of dating many people ask, does age matter? The answer is yes
and no; as many different components come into play. In the movie Somethings Gotta Give ,
Harry dates a younger woman and when he meets her mom she doesn t seem to mind that her
boyfriend is much older than her. An older male and younger woman is accepted in society,
whereas an older woman dating a younger man becomes labeled as a cougar . A man who dates
a younger woman receives no such title, this is socially constructed by the white male dominant
group, as to say it is ok for a man to do it, but when a woman does it, she s a cougar . A man

To cater these potential customers we are in dire need of quality professionals for current and
future job market in Hospitality Industry. With the promotion of wine tourism, F B service
professionals with right skills are needed to deliver required service. In the current scenario
where people have started to use spare money and time, there is a wide scope of introduction of
wine as a drink with food in general masses. As we have burgeoning middle class with spare
money and time, there is big market to cater at home front.
The process of preparation, production, storing and service of wines itself involves lots of
employment opportunities and economic potential. With cheap labour in India we can do lot more
than developed countries of west and give good competition in quality and price for the production
and preparation of quality wines. India can certainly be favourite outsourced destination for
production of quality grapes for wine production and even become producers of finest wines.
As vinification requires professionals to prepare wine hence promoting vinification will enhance
many outlets for source of wine as a drink along with dinner, rather than spirits. Once the
difference of spirits and wine is established, we will see a lot of demand for wines.
Hence viticulture vinification can bring International recognition to Indian wines and due to cheap
labour India will see a boom in wine tourism. At the same time we will require

The World War I Led From The Imperialist Age Of The 19th...
World War I led to the deaths of over 70 million people in Europe, and destroyed the already weak
infrastructure left from the imperialist age of the 19th century. During this time of rebuilding,
Germany turned to people they believed would help them rebuild. The people who would rebuild
would also destroy the freedoms of the German people through their aggressive takeover. This
takeover by the German National Socialist Party, dubbed the Nazi Partyby Bavarians, was defined
for the brutality and the totalitarian government by which it ruled. So the question is, how did
they take over? How did a party made from the hands of but 5 people manage to conquer all of
Germany during the 1930s? This is due to the harsh stipulations enforced by the post war efforts of
the allied powers and the following collapse of many European countries. Lack of International
Cooperation led to the blaming of the Central Powers of Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, and the
Ottoman Empire after the first World War. The only problem with this was that Germany was the
only nation intact after the Armistice Day in 1918. Germany s Imperial government had been
overthrown in the German November Revolution of 1918 and had been set up as the new Weimar
Republic. This meant that, reluctantly, the German Reichstag had to accept blame for all damages
created by the war and the Central Powers. In 1919, after the conclusion of World War I, a formal
treaty was signed. This treaty, known as the Treaty of Versaille,

Analysis Of Mark Twain s Advice To Youth
In Mark Twain s, Advice to Youth, Twain educates the younger generations by providing his
viewpoint of how people of their age should conduct themselves ranging from simple words of
wisdom to instructions on how to interact with others in order to sculpt a generation more
knowledgeable and intelligent than his own. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote, Joint
Address to Congress Leading to a Declaration of War Against Japan, he announced that resulting
from provocations from Japan, it was mandatory that the United Statesof America retaliated by
engaging in a war against Japan in order to protect the American citizens. In her essay titled, A
New Egalitarian Life Style, Gloria Steinem insists that women and black citizens have been

Analysis Of Where Men Win Glory, By Jon Krakauer
Research Discussion: In Where Men Win Glory, Jon Krakauer primarily uses a lot of primary
sources to present the story of Pat Tillman. Using many books and first person encounters,
Krakauer relays the information that is necessary to understand the context around the Pat Tillman
story. For example, he uses Mary Tillman s Boots on the Ground by Dusk: My Tribute to Pat
Tillmanwhich is primary source. This source is very useful because it talks about Pat Tillman
from a person who knew him very well: his mother Mary. Knowing that Jon is getting his
information about Pat from such an important figure in his life, the reader knows that this book is
reliable as well. I believe that this type of research falls under pathos because it appeals to a

Headhunting Research Paper
On my honor, I pledge that I have neither given nor received help on this assignment.
The practice of cutting off and preserving the head or skull of another is known as headhunting.
The concept of headhunting is without a doubt seen as monstrous to the modern society, though it
was completely normal to many cultures in the past. Many cultures believed that the head either
represented the core of the personality or that a person s soul was concentrated in their head. Due
to the belief that the soul was concentrated in the head, headhunting was seen as a wonderful tactic
against enemies. Sometimes, claiming a head was a requirement before someone was allowed to
get married.

The Forbidden Romantic Love Between Romeo And Juliet Essay
The forbidden romantic love between Romeo and Juliet.
By Ashleigh Moseley.
Year 10 English: Mrs Shaw.
For this anthology about love I have chosen, and mainly centred around the topic of love that is
forbidden. With this type of love, comes many struggles and questions that I m sure must go
through the minds of people in this situation. This is what happens with Romeo and Juliet in the
Play written by William Shakespeare in 1591. It will be a romance that will strongly challenge
them, but as we see it will not break the bond of love they have for each other. In this task I will try
to describe the pain, happiness, frustration, forgiveness, anger, and joy through a collection of
shorts texts that come with the topic of persecuted, and forbidden love.
Author unknown.
Juliet is willing to love Romeo no matter what. I think that this short poem describes the nature
of their love very well. This is how they think, act and live out their love for each other. I noticed
that the words in this poem: you are my best friend, my human diary my other half , picture how
they feel about each other in a really clear way. Both from families that hate each other, yet they
treat each other as if they are there only hope.... Their best friend, the diary with which they right
they feelings for each other. This I feel clearly describes what it must feel like to love dearly
someone who you are not allowed to

The Five Steps of Grief
Grief is a process that involves five important steps to correctly deal with a painful situation or
the loss of someone important in ones life. In the famous play Hamlet written by William
Shakespeare a young boy is forced into the grieving process when his father dies. The audience
can see him go through all five step, and also can see how the ones around him also go through the
process. To overcome griefeffectively all five steps must be experienced but not in any particular
order and through the stories the readers can see how each character deals with grief differently but
eventually all reach acceptance. Lorraine Hansberry, writes about a family is all waiting for the

9). It is normal way people show how they feel about the situation and is a response appropriate to
griefing. People to often think that depression needs to be fixed and cured but it is not that easy and
one needs to go through the normal sadness to begin the next step. Beneatha in The Raisin in The
Sun states that she believes she is nothing(451). She thinks that her life will never amount to
anything important because she is going through the stage depression. This may seem dramatic but
it is normal in the grieving process.
Bargaining is next step in the process and in involves many what if statements. It may be
pleading for god to give back what you lost. Many people believe that if only they did something
different they could have saved their love one or not had to grief. The authors of Complicated
Grief and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Humans response to Death of Pets/Animals write about
how bargaining to an extreme can cause grief and make people believe that the incident may be

could go back and change something everything would be better. Ruth in The Raisin in The Sun

Oppositional Defiant Disorder And Mental Health Services
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is one of the most common clinical disorders in children
and adolescents (Nock, Kazdin, Hirpi Kessler, 2007). Greene et al. (2002) defines ODD as a
recurrent pattern of developmentally inappropriate levels of negativistic, defiant, disobedient,
and hostile behavior toward authority figures . ODD primarily consists of stubborn (e.g.,
tantrums) and aggressive behaviors that the child attempts to rationalize based on the
circumstances rather than view as consequential and problematic (Kazdin, 2010). Therefore,
ODD can have serious implications for the child s functioning at home, in school, and in the
community, so parents of children with ODD are more likely to utilize child mental health
services (Kazdin, 2010). The history, symptoms, diagnosis, prevalence, age of onset, duration,
risk factors, comorbidity, and treatments of ODD will be discussed, as well as the rationale
behind the revisions from the fourth (DSM IV) to fifth editions (DSM 5) of the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The ODD diagnosis was introduced by the Group for the
Advancement of Psychiatry in 1966 and appeared for the first time as a distinct child/adolescent
onset disorder in the third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM III) in 1980 (Nock et al., 2007). In the 35 years since its induction however, not much more
has been learned about the disorder because the majority of studies combine both ODD and

The Epic of Gilgamesh
The story about Gilgamesh is one of the earliest pieces of world literature dating back to the
second millennium B.C.E. This story has been evolved gradually over a long span of a
millennium, and has been enjoyed by many nations. The Epic of Gilgamesh teaches life lessons that
apply to the past and present while revolving around the question of what it means to be human, and
to experience the phenomenon of friendship, love, and death.
Notably, the thing about human life is that everyone desires friendship or to be simply not be
alone. In the story of the epic of Gilgamesh talks about how friendship changed his whole life.
Gilgamesh used to be a terrible ruler led by arrogance, and brutality of his people. He was
overconsumed with power, therefore doing whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. It seemed
that Gilgamesh grew bored of life, and had a deep hole in his heart as such something was
missing from his life. One day Gilgamesh told his mother I want a friend for my own counselor,
for my own Counselor do I want a friend (Foster 106). He needed someone to confide in as well
as talk too about his plans and future. Gilgamesh had everything in his life from riches to power,
but it seemed like the thing he craved more than success was someone to take the journey beside
him. In a

Conservatism In Australia
The United States and Australia s conservative politicians and critics are more reluctant to accept
climate change is a dire issue, unlike countries such as Great Britain and Germany. This is due to
the factors of; the difference of perspective on conservatism, limitations due to parliamentary
structure and environmental ideology viewed as a newer element to politics. The perspective of
conservative politicians plays a key role in the influence they have over policy making and the
public. Depending on their view on climate change, they can limit or expand exposure to the
environmental crisis. Parliamentary structure, such as Australia s two party system can be
restraining for smaller parties which support policy making for the environment. A country s
approach to newer ideology like climate change, can be resistant depending on their traditional

The mining business is where the greater part of Australia s economy originates from. Conservative
politicians are unwilling to accept climate change, for the reason that they favour society s values
and aspects to be unchanged. A case which supports this notion is Australia s and the United States
rejecting to join other countries in partaking in the Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto Protocol aims to
unite countries to set limits on their greenhouse gas emissions, to suppress the destructive effects of
climate change. The United States expresses that it will not participate in the international treaty
due to; absence of sufficient supporting scientific evidence, large developing countries such as
China or India aren t partaking in the movement and reducing the greenhouse emissions would

American literature. Herman Melville, born on August 1, 1819, admired every aspect of literature

The Romantics believed that natural law was determined by God, not humans or science. After
crash landing on Ducie Island, first mate Owen Chase and Captain George Pollard had a
conflicting discussion on death. With Chase finding a cave full of skeletons, Pollard believed
the men were destined to die on the island as all other men having landed on the island before
them appeared to have done. Pollard believed that if the men continued to sail, it would lead to
imminent death for the crew. Chase disagreed and believed that they must try to return to
Nantucket. Chase believed God didn t just plant the men on a random island to die, but obviously
had a plan in mind for them. Chase didn t accept the opinion that just because the men were on
that island, they were destined for death. Just because former men had died on the island didn t
mean they would, Captain Pollard was using human reasoning rather than believing God had a
specific set of plans in place for these men. Another Romantic idea was that pleasure could come
from the less organized and irrational things in life as well as the organized and rational.
Romanticists felt that things that weren t considered to be functional, idealistic, and enjoyable, may
indeed be just as or more pleasurable than things that were considered functional, idealistic, and

Why Is Cursive Writing Important
The debate on cursive writing, how important is it?
Although cursive writing seems like a thing of the past, many people debate if it should stay there
or not. Writing by hand does have a lot of benifits, not many of therm do people associate writing
by hand with. Although it has been proven to be good for our minds, there is still a lot of
contreversy over the subject.
I agree with the article supporting cursive writing for the following reasons. Writing by hand,
especially in cursive, is very benificial to our memory. More people who write in cursive
remember ideas better as opposed to those who type. Hand writing verse typing allows people to
process the material given to them better. During a research study, students who took

Apple Stereotyping
In Steven Levy s article The new iPods: Random sampling or not?, he postulates that Apple s
mechanism for shuffling songs is not entirely random. Apple popularized its shuffle feature in
2004 with the slogan Life is Random. However, Levy finds this difficult to believe. He
consistently gets songs by Steely Dan and nothing by Aretha Franklin, despite the supposed
randomized shuffling feature. Yet, Apple maintains that its shuffling process is randomized.
Ultimately, the problem is because of Apple s coding, user error, or due to random sampling error.
Apple describes its process of shuffling like a Vegas dealer shuffles a deck of cards. The
effectiveness of this process is dependant upon the code that Apple uses. If there is any bias

The Importance Of Theoretical Frameworks In Public...
Professional journals and peer reviewed publications are an important component in legitimizing
any academic discipline, and the field of public administration is no exception. Similar to other
disciplines, the field of public administration utilizes academic and professional journal publications
as a means to disseminate and share research by scholars and practitioners that presents original
contributions and unique perspectives. However, unlike other disciplines, since the field of public
administration lacks a core theoretical framework for scholars to design and conduct research,
scholars in the field of public administration draw on a myriad of theoretical frameworks in order to
make their scholarly contributions. In this regard, it is not surprising that academic journals in the
field of public administration exhibit a degree of bias in the research they publish and, therefore, the
theoretical frameworks of knowledge they promote. A comparative analysis of four of the major
academic journals in the field of public administration (Public Administration Review,
Administrative Theory Praxis, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and The
American Review of Public Administration) will yield important insights about the knowledge
frameworks used in these journals and the implications this has for scholars and practitioners in
public administration.

Literary Analysis Of Esperanza Rising
Literary Analysis of Esperanza Rising
Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. It is a figure of speech that is used
when an author wants to create certain moods or emotions, deepen the story s message, and
secretly tell the readers what could happen later in the story. The novel Esperanza Rising, by Pam
Munoz Ryan, is a story of struggle, hardship and determination following Esperanza, her family,
and servants as they flee from Mexico to California. The author uses a specific fruit as the title of
each chapter to symbolize emotions or events occurring within the chapters. Three specific chapters

Numerical abnormalities, or aneuploidy, is when an individual is missing a chromosome or has
an extra chromosome. Monosomy is when there is only one chromosome present from a pair due
to nondisjunction at the second division of meiosis. The only known viable case of monosomy, is
Turner s syndrome, where an individual only have one sex chromosome . Trisomy are cases where
there are three of a particular chromosome when there should only be two present. Cases of an
additional chromosome are seen in both autosomal and sex chromosomes. Majority of cases are not
viable, however there are common types that do survive. The most notable cases are trisomy 21 and
Klinefelter syndrome. Trisomy 21 is a genetic disorder of chromosome 21 having three copies,
causing intellectual and physical growth delays. The four types of structural abnormalities are
chromosomal deletions, duplications, translocations, inversions, and rings. When chromosome
mutations are created, either through a mistake in cell division or by a mutagen, protein synthesis is
affected. The structural changes can produce a varying degree of developmental difficulties in an
individual, depending on which genes experiences the structural change. Chromosome changes are
often damaging to an individual causing developmental difficulties and in some cases death can be
an outcome. A deleted section of a chromosome can result in developmental delay, heart problems,

It would also allow for samples to be taken from several different locations on the truck.
Furthermore, having an automatic probe takes out an employ which allows for that money to
benefit the membership of the co op thus allowing the co op to give better service to the customers.
The main risk in this investment would be the ability to afford the cost of a probe. With the wheat
market deteriorating the possibility going into the hole on this investment increases drastically.
Damage to the probe is also a possibility, and a additional expense that could make the probe less
profitable. But in this case the benefits seem to outweigh the risks making this investment one to
consider to better serve the customer. After some research was done on the automatictruck probe
the focus was shifted to the addition of a new receiving pit and leg. Pitcock Supply Inc. was
contacted by the intern for a quote and they sent out an agent to take measurements for the
location and get all the specifics. The quote allowed for a 15,000 BPH Schlagel conveyor,
concrete pit, concrete pad, and a Schlagel distributer. The total which included labor, misc.
equipment, rentals, paint, freight, a crane, and insurance came to $304,698.55. An investment of
this size usually comes with risks to match, therefor it is imperative to consider. Looking at the
figure above, it is easy to see what an enormous risk this would be for the co op. If the cost was
depreciated out it would take roughly

Gulf Oil Spill Research Paper
Introduction The Gulf Oil Spill was one of the worst oil spills in US History. It took place on
April 20, 2010. It happened about 42 miles off the coast of Louisiana, in the Gulf Of Mexico,
and by the Deepwater Horizon. About 672, 000 gallons (3.19 million barrels) of oil was dropped
into the ocean. Common names for it include: the Louisiana Oil Spill, Deepwater Horizon Oil
Spill, and BP Oil Spill. How It Happened There are four main reasons as to why this oil spill
happened, but they were all mechanical flaws. One reason was that the borehole (a hole at the
bottom of the boat used to locate oil and gas) was not completely covered with cement which
allowed the oil to leak out of the boat. Another reason was that the boat contained two main... Show

They were the ones who dropped the oil into the ocean when they were out on the ocean. Even
though other companies were working on the rig, BP was in charge of the boat that caused the
spill. How Do We Prevent Oil Spills Oil spills do not just happen because of boats and system
failure. They also happen because of us doing everyday things like heating our house. Most
people use oil or gas to heat their house since it is a heat substance, it could leak and cause a spill
on land. How do we prevent it though? Companies have to be very careful with their parts. They
have to check that everything is in place and working correctly. One mistake could cause an oil
spill. They also have to make sure that their tanks are cleaned out. The tanks have to be cleaned
once in a while because if they aren t, then the tank might burst letting the oil spill out. The worst
thing about oil spills is that small mistakes lead to big consequences. For example, the BP Oil
Spill, small failures in the system like the alarm let the oil all spill out before the company
realized it was leaking. Just because of that, one of the biggest oil spills in the world

U.s. Sneezes Canada Will Catch A Cold
With Canada and the United States being neighbours, the common saying goes that if the U.S.
sneezes Canada will catch a cold . When it came to the housing bubble both countries experienced
marginally different outcomes. Canada was able to shield itself from the effects of the Financial
Crisis due to its regulatory system, corporate governance and strong banking systems (Lynch,
2010). The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OFSI) regulates the Canadian
banks; the regulation is in accordance with the BankAct of 1992 and is regularly updated to find
ways to protect the banking system from falling (Lynch, 2010). The top six Canadian banks are
tightly linked, and equipped to consolidate if one bank should fall (Lynch,... Show more content on

The premiums charged are risk adjusted and could be paid upfront or as an annuity. As of June
2015, the premiums will go up for Canadian mortgages with down payments lower than ten percent.
The use LMIs and other depository insurances such as CDIC are crucial to the understanding of
how the Canadian banking system is resistant to economic downturns. The use of protocols and
regulations allow financial institutions to reduce their risk and guarantee the repayment of their
loans (Saunders al, 2014).
U.S. Perspective
The banking system in the US deviates from Canada, the banks are regulated at the state level and
therefore could never mimic the sophisticated banking structure of their neighbours (Saunders et
al, 2014). There were many red flags early on that should have been questioned by the Federal
Reserve. First of all, some of the worst practices in the housing market were in place and known
to the public. Appraisers were overvaluing properties, banks were paying credit companies for the
rating of their bonds and mortgage backed securitizes loosened their standards (Baker, 2008). This
is the equivalence of taking the debt and moving it elsewhere with no worry of when and how the
repayment would occur. The biggest red flag that was not addressed was the rapid

Environmental Issues in North America and the World
Introduction North America has been struggling immensely since the last century with air and
water pollution, deforestation, and overpopulation. These struggles are due to poor prevention
planning and industrial manifestation. Pollution is changing the atmosphere much sooner than
expected and global warming is predicted to overwhelm the atmosphere within the next half of a
century. In order to sustain the environment and atmosphere humans must take immediate action
right now. The longer we wait to start immediate prevention, the sooner our air and water supplies
will diminish. Unfortunately, it is not only North America that needs to change it is many other
countries and regions of the world. Prevention and preservation is up... Show more content on

Air Pollution and Global Warming The biggest cause of air pollution in North America comes from
carbon dioxide emissions. Fossil fuel, electricity, and vehicle technology has been an enormous
contribution to the emission of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are gases that attract radiation
from the sun into the earth s exterior and its environment. Producing an overabundance of
greenhouse gases at a time may dramatically change the atmosphere as we know it today. The
ozone layer that protects human beings and many other species of plants and animals from the sun
s excruciating rays may deplete or be damaged due to too much pollution. The United States heavy
demand of fossil fuels for transportation is causing extreme confliction and competitiveness with
many other countries. Japan became so concerned with these issues that they devised a plan that
could bring countries together to compromise this extremely difficult issue. The Kyoto Protocol is
a negotiation put together by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
(UNFCCC). The treaty was compromised in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. Countries that formally approve
this protocol devote to decrease the amount of released greenhouse gases, or trade the number of
emissions allowed from sustaining or raising the emissions of greenhouse gases. The United States
of America was not among these countries that signed the

Phishing Is A Social Engineering Luring Technique
Phishing is a social engineering luring technique, in which an attacker aims to steal sensitive
information such as credit card information and online banking passwords from users. Phishing is
carried over electronic communications such as email or instant messaging. In this technique, a
replica of the legitimate sites is created, and the users are directed to the Phishing pages where it s
required for the personal information.
As phishing remains a significant criminal activity that causes great loss of money and personal
data. In respond to these threats, a variety of Anti Phishing tools was released by software vendors
and companies. The Phishing detection technique used by industries mainly includes attack tracing,
report generating filtering, analysing, authentication, report making and network law enforcement.
The toolbars like spoof guard, trust watch, spoof stick and Net craft are some of the most popular
Anti Phishing toolbars services that are used. The W3C has set some standards that are followed
by most of the legit websites, but the phishing site may not develop these standards. There are
certain characteristics of URL and source code of the Phishing site based on which we can guess
the fake site.

Essay on Deadbeat Dads are Not Criminals
Fathers every year in Washington go to jail for nothing more than being broke (Deadbeat). They
are called dead beat dads by their peers, scorn by society, and treated as subclass citizens (THE,
ASSOCIATED). This is a very grim reality that men of every age range face daily. Both men and
women make the choices which result in babies. However, women are given a choice at every
stage of the child s development to adopt out, abort, or even use contraception (Why). Thus, men
and women share equal responsibility in the acts that conceive children. However, men do not
have the same options women do (Why). Despite this, DCS hunts men down as if they are the

Unfortunately, $540 wasn t enough for the DA who threatened jail time if he could not come up
with $2500 (Miller). As a result, Robin Miller refused to sign any order and kept the money he
was going to pay (Miller). Miller believed he would need this money in order to pay for
representation (Miller). The next case I submit to you is that of Andre F. Braxton. Braxton was in
court for a child support debt of $61,000 (Deadbeat). Under the pressure of this debt Braxton made
a $1,500 payment to the courts then fled the court room (Deadbeat). Deputies reported that Braxton
never returned to his home (Deadbeat). As can be seen, I do not make these claims lightly. Both of
these men were absolutely intent on paying their obligations; however, in both cases the men could
not pay as much as the state demanded. As a result of this, one man ran and another withheld his
payment. Were these men not under threat of loss of liberty (arrest), they may have been able to
continue paying support obligations to a lesser degree. However, under the threat of arrest these
men can no longer make any support payments. Finally, were these men to have been arrested, the
result would have been the same.
Next, I reason that child support is not a man s obligation at all. The reason men are expected to
pay support dates back to colonial days when the woman stayed home, and the man provided for
her and the children (Colonial). In this era, the woman had no options and no means of

Mahatma Gandhi Research Paper
Mahatma Gandhi Aroused by the massacre of Amritsar in 1919, Gandhi devoted his life to
gaining India s independence from Great Britain. As the dominant figure used his persuasive
philosophy of non violent confrontation, he inspired political activists with many persuasions
throughout the world (Andrews 23). Not only was Mahatma Gandhi a great peacemaker, but also
his work to achieve freedom and equality for all people was greatly acknowledged. Gandhi s
unconventional style of leadership gained him the love of a country and eventually enabled him to
lead the independence movement in India. Mohandas Gandhi, later called Mahatma Gandhi, was
born on October 2,1869 in Porbandar, which is the present day state of Gujarat, India (Andrews...

By saying that, he meant that no one should worry about where they stand in society or how
they are judged because in God s eyes everyone is perfect and everyone is equal therefore, no one
who has any faith in God should be worrying about their so called imperfections. This great man
struggled to gain the important rights for all Indians, and this is where it all began. Once Gandhi s
mission in South Africa was complete, he returned to India and became involved in the home ruling
movement. He was concerned with excessive land tax and discrimination, so he organized protests
by peasants, farmers, and urban laborers to help them stand tall and fight for what they deserved
(Gold 57). During World War I, Gandhi had an active part in recruiting campaigns by launching his
new movement of non violent resistance to Great Britain (Byers 202). When Parliament passed the
Rowlatt Acts in 1919, Satyagraha, which means insistence on truth, spread throughout India,
recruiting millions of followers. British soldiers massacred Indians at Amritsar as a demonstration
against the Rowlatt Acts. In 1920 the British government failed to make peace, which resulted in
Gandhi organizing a campaign of non cooperation (Andrews 103). There was chaos in India as the

The Toursim Industry in South Africa
The tourism industry is a vast growing trade that in recent years has seen a significant increase in its
contribution to the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of various respective countries. South Africa is
one of the countries that have witnessed tremendous growth in its tourism industry. As much as such
development is a very welcomed phenomenon for any country, growth and development is limited
by a number of constraints. Of importance to this particular study is the issue of seasonality in the
tourismindustry.
Seasonality is defined as the fluctuation of situations that has a direct effect on one or more
variables. (McCarthy 1994:275).According to an article by strathprints journals (www.stathprints
/journals, 25 April) seasonality in tourism has traditionally been regarded as a major problem
which needs to be overcome, but relatively little research has been conducted on the patterns or
causes of this phenomenon.
The question this study aims to unfold is:
What effect does the seasonal nature of the tourism industry have on the providers of components
of the tourism industry, as well as on unemployment in Mbombela?
The aims and objectives of the study are:
To investigate the negative effects seasonality has on the tourism industry in Mbombela.
To highlight the differences in the rates of employment associated with different points within the
seasonal cycle.
To highlight the internal changes enforced by service providers in the tourism industry as a result of

Documentation In Nursing
Stay out of court with proper documentation, by Sally Austin, is a great eye opener to how
crucial it is to document in the health care field as a nurse. As many know, nurses are extremely
busy throughout their day, and as a result, many of them find it difficult to find the time to
document in their patient s medical record. According to the article, a medical record is a legal
document required by law and other regulatory bodies. Therefore, it must be done so the patient
gets the best and most accurate care. The medical record is also one of the first places people
look when a lawsuit is brought up or something goes wrong, so documentation needs to be done
properly and in a timely manner. The article gives five suggestions on how to avoid errors and
complications in documentation which are: be objective, document at the same time as your... Show

One suggestion that the article gave that I will be putting to use is that of documenting right away,
if at all possible. As mentioned above, nurses are very busy and if a nurse does not document right
away there is a good chance it will not get done, and if it does it may not be done correctly or
forgotten. Another topic that stood out to me was that it is my legal responsibility, as a nurse,
to document on the patient s medical record. If I do not document it it legally did not happen;
therefore, I will have to suffer the penalties of those actions or lack thereof. Finally, I learned
how serious and critical it is to document and to do it properly. Before I read this article, I knew it
was important, but after reading this article it really sunk in that documenting should be taken
more seriously. The patient s medical record is the go to place for health providers in providing
care, and it is also one of the first places people look when something goes

An Exploration Of What Budgeting And Forecasting
Summary
This paper will be an exploration of what budgeting and forecasting are and how they are
determined and why they need to be re evaluated. Furthermore, the hope is to uncover some of the
underlining causes that drivers that trigger the re evaluations in our organization as well as
discover ways to mitigate those factors.
BackRound
Like any other business we need to lower our costs, we apparently have difficulties creating a
realistic budget, at least initially, and also have great difficulties with accurately forecasting. Are
budgeting problems for new products could be due to the fact that prospective costs on new parts

It is based on predicted expenses they may be fixed things like rent, leases or variable things
such as payroll, utilities and phone bills. Budget list your income and expenses, subtracting one
from the other to give you realistic numbers to guide you re planning. For example, if your
budget shows that your total expenses are greater than your total income, you must adjust your
spending entries in your budget to try and gain the profit income, you can match it against your
payables to make sure that you have enough money in the bank to meet your obligations. You can
try to create a budget that only spends what you make by using your current cash position and
current sales and expenses to guide you. If this is wrong this it creates a cash flow shortage.
Budgeting relies more on recent history, current contracts and income levels to set conservative
income limits, as budgeting for income optimistically might not be realistic and set your small
project up for failure. A cash flow budget does not show the monthly average amount of your
expenses, but the exact expense amounts each month when they come due. This allows you to
budget lower payments for discretionary spending in the months when you have high payables.
When creating a budget, you set specific spending limits in certain areas based on how much
income you have. For example, you might forecast that your payroll will be $100,000 per month,
while a budget actually

The Adoption Of Geneva Conventions
Introduction
Wars have been always a menace and a threat to humanity. Throughout of the ages, the noble
spirited and peace loving people have tried to bring an end to the hostility and conflicts among
human beings. The adoption of Geneva Conventions in 1949 was seen as a significant break
though in this regard and it was hoped that human sufferings resulting from armed conflicts will be
minimized to a considerable extent if not eliminated completely. Even after the passage of about
eight decades of the adoption of Geneva Conventions, this dream is still far from realization. During
all these years we saw different nations interpreting and using the rules of Geneva Conventions in
different ways suiting their interest.
This differing practice on the part of different nations did a lot of harm to the common cause of
protecting the life and well being of human beings. A major divergence from Geneva Convention
rules has been seen post 9/11. The 9/11 incidents and subsequent war on terror gave rise to a
completely new form of armed conflict which resulted in new legal challenges. As this war on
terror is a non traditional war which was almost unfamiliar by the times when Geneva Conventions
were framed so, most of the rules of Geneva Conventions were focused on international armed
conflicts. Traditionally, we witnessed armed conflicts in which states stood against other states but
in recent decades, especially after the dawn of 21st century, these armed conflicts have become

In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. • 4. Character Analysis Of Uncle Tom s Cabin Published in 1852, Harriet Beecher Stowe used Uncle Tom s Cabin as a platform to address the harsh reality of slavery while emphasizing the importance of Christian values. Though a quite controversial novel because of its views on race, it has gained recognition as one of the best anti slavery novels of its time. Through its contrasting characterization of Eva and Topsy, Stowe s Uncle Tom s Cabin highlights the corrupted influence of slaveryon blacks, while applying racial stereotypes to the characters in the novel. Character introductions play a very important part in how the character is viewed by the reader throughout the rest of the plot; first impressions are the most lasting. We first see Evangeline St. Clare through Uncle Tom s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clare, she is a mere form of entertainment. Topsy is a sort of wild child in the novel, she is mischievous, she lies, and she steals. Topsy even referred to herself as the wickedest critter in the world (367). It s not the matter of whether she knows what she s doing is wrong, Topsy s behavior and actions are an indication of the facts that she s never been loved or cared for. Readers can t avoid feeling sympathetic towards her because she is just a product of her environment. She was brought up in conditions that are less than ideal for the proper upbringing of a child. Eva and Topsy contrast each other severely. They differ in appearances, mannerisms, and they certainly have had different childhoods. However, they both have had profound impacts on other characters in the novel. Of all the characters in the novel, Eva has helped transform the most characters. Eva s inherent goodness and beliefs in equality and Christian values inspired Uncle Tom, her father, Miss Ophelia, as well as the other slaves. Her words of kindness and love even made an impression on Topsy; which was seen as a turning point for Topsy s actions in the novel. Both Eva and Topsy had a significant impact on Miss Ophelia. When Ophelia first had the job of educating Topsy, she only saw Topsy as a little plague that she wanted nothing to do with. • 6. The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus... The Half Brothers By Elizabeth Gaskell and My Oedipus Complex By Frank O Connor These two stories are very different upon first glance. For example one is about a pair of half brothers set in Victorian times and the other is about a small child named Larry who thinks he s a lot wiser then he is. However, if you look deeper you can start to find similarities between the two. They have similar themes, and links can be made between them. A big difference between them is the titles. For example The Half Brothers is a very self evident title but My Oedipus Complex is a little more obscure. For example in The Half Brothers William Preston begs God for forgiveness after realising how wrongly he had treated Gregory and in My Oedipus Complex Larry and his father forgive each other because they are in the same situation at the end of the story. Using the theme of forgiveness in stories that also have the theme of jealousy makes the reader feel that everything must come to an end whether it is good or bad because forgiveness is an end to jealousy and also to both stories. There is also a less obvious theme in the stories of religion. For example we heard mass at St Augustine s and said a prayer for father in My Oedipus Complex and God s will be done in The Half Brothers . This use of religion in the stories sets the period as nowadays most people are not very religious. It shows that in the past God was very important to the average person and had a big influence on their lives and the decisions they made. Reasons for some of the differences between the stories may be because they were written and set in very different periods. For example The Half Brothers was set in Victorian times when it was also written but My Oedipus Complex was set just after the First World War but written much later then that. This makes the authors present the themes in very different ways. Frank O Connor is more light hearted in his presentation of jealousy whereas Elizabeth Gaskell is definitely more morbid and ... Relationship Between Cancer And Alzheimer s Disease Results from the Framingham Heart Study published by Driver et al, 2012(27) discussed the relationship between cancer and Alzheimer s disease, using hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals. From this, it was concluded that cancer vulnerability may protect against Alzheimer s, and vice versa. It was suggested that this may be due to both diseases sharing similar genes and proteins, providing even more reason to research further into proteins such as the immunophilins, which have a role in both diseases. Analysis of genes from large databases would further improve knowledge on the immunophilins. 4.Is there a Role for Targeting Immunophilins in Neurodegeneration? 4.1 Angioneurins In recent years, it has become clear that the neural and ... • 12. A Sorrowful Woman By Gail Godwin Essay A Sorrowful Woman While reading many kinds of literature about women s rights and suffrages. One of them is call The Sorrowful Woman . The story is a mournful story presenting the readers the heart of a woman sometimes in the 1970s. The author who wrote the story named Gail Godwin portrays a woman character in a way that shows us how women feel towards marriage and motherhood. The story sets in a home in which the typical mother has to take care of her house, husband, and child. She has to cook, do the laundry, and all the house chores that society tells women to do. However, one day she had quit her duties as a mother and wife, which shows the readers how it affects her family and herself. As I read the story about this sorrowful woman, I feel that the woman in the story is mentally ill and is a weak selfish character who only pities herself. The author describes the woman s husband as being durable, receptive, and gentle. She also has a son whom the author describes as a golden tender three (Godwin 38). However, despite having a wonderful husband and a sweet child; she becomes sick of seeing them every day, and isolate herself as the story goes on. The reason for her isolation could be related to how women lived back near the 1970s. Many women in the 1970s were mothers who stayed at home to take care of their husband and children. I believe the author wanted to portray the woman in a way that shows how many women probably felt back in the 1970s, but were too ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Something s Got Ta Give By Diane Keaton In society age is a key aspect in the way people view others and how they communicate, a person s age sets a tone for the language they use in communication with different groups be it their peers, elders, or the young. Three aspects of age in society are communication, ability, and socially constructed stigmas. Many of such aspects are portrayed in the movie Something s Gotta Give , where a swinger on the cusp of being a senior citizen with a taste for young women falls in love with an accomplished womancloser to his age. Harry, the soon to be senior citizen is played by Jack Nicholas and Erica, played by Diane Keaton is an accomplished writer and the mother of Harry s young companion. The movie makes you stop and think; what does age mean in the dating world today. In the world of dating many people ask, does age matter? The answer is yes and no; as many different components come into play. In the movie Somethings Gotta Give , Harry dates a younger woman and when he meets her mom she doesn t seem to mind that her boyfriend is much older than her. An older male and younger woman is accepted in society, whereas an older woman dating a younger man becomes labeled as a cougar . World War I led to the deaths of over 70 million people in Europe, and destroyed the already weak infrastructure left from the imperialist age of the 19th century. During this time of rebuilding, Germany turned to people they believed would help them rebuild. The people who would rebuild would also destroy the freedoms of the German people through their aggressive takeover. This takeover by the German National Socialist Party, dubbed the Nazi Partyby Bavarians, was defined for the brutality and the totalitarian government by which it ruled. So the question is, how did they take over? How did a party made from the hands of but 5 people manage to conquer all of Germany during the 1930s? This is due to the harsh stipulations enforced by the post war efforts of the allied powers and the following collapse of many European countries. Lack of International Cooperation led to the blaming of the Central Powers of Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire after the first World War. The only problem with this was that Germany was the only nation intact after the Armistice Day in 1918. Germany s Imperial government had been overthrown in the German November Revolution of 1918 and had been set up as the new Weimar Republic. This meant that, reluctantly, the German Reichstag had to accept blame for all damages created by the war and the Central Powers. However, in Of the Coming of John by W.E.B. • 23. Oppositional Defiant Disorder And Mental Health Services Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is one of the most common clinical disorders in children and adolescents (Nock, Kazdin, Hirpi Kessler, 2007). Greene et al. (2002) defines ODD as a recurrent pattern of developmentally inappropriate levels of negativistic, defiant, disobedient, and hostile behavior toward authority figures . ODD primarily consists of stubborn (e.g., tantrums) and aggressive behaviors that the child attempts to rationalize based on the circumstances rather than view as consequential and problematic (Kazdin, 2010). Therefore, ODD can have serious implications for the child s functioning at home, in school, and in the community, so parents of children with ODD are more likely to utilize child mental health services (Kazdin, 2010). The history, symptoms, diagnosis, prevalence, age of onset, duration, risk factors, comorbidity, and treatments of ODD will be discussed, as well as the rationale behind the revisions from the fourth (DSM IV) to fifth editions (DSM 5) of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The ODD diagnosis was introduced by the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry in 1966 and appeared for the first time as a distinct child/adolescent onset disorder in the third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM III) in 1980 (Nock et al., 2007). Professional journals and peer reviewed publications are an important component in legitimizing any academic discipline, and the field of public administration is no exception. Similar to other disciplines, the field of public administration utilizes academic and professional journal publications as a means to disseminate and share research by scholars and practitioners that presents original contributions and unique perspectives. However, unlike other disciplines, since the field of public administration lacks a core theoretical framework for scholars to design and conduct research, scholars in the field of public administration draw on a myriad of theoretical frameworks in order to make their scholarly contributions. Haploinsufficincy of genes GATA4, SOX7, TNKS, MCPH1, NEIL2, and ZFMPM2 have a strong correlation to the array of health complications. To better define the genotype and phenotype relationships associated with this unique chromosome mutation, we review the complex arrangements of the genes located in the segment of chromosome 8p23. The human genome is composed of the DNA in chromosomes, that contains the complete genetic material of a human. Genes, information that is stored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Numerical abnormalities, or aneuploidy, is when an individual is missing a chromosome or has an extra chromosome. Monosomy is when there is only one chromosome present from a pair due to nondisjunction at the second division of meiosis. The only known viable case of monosomy, is Turner s syndrome, where an individual only have one sex chromosome . Trisomy are cases where there are three of a particular chromosome when there should only be two present. Cases of an additional chromosome are seen in both autosomal and sex chromosomes. Majority of cases are not viable, however there are common types that do survive. The most notable cases are trisomy 21 and Klinefelter syndrome. Trisomy 21 is a genetic disorder of chromosome 21 having three copies, causing intellectual and physical growth delays. The four types of structural abnormalities are chromosomal deletions, duplications, translocations, inversions, and rings. When chromosome mutations are created, either through a mistake in cell division or by a mutagen, protein synthesis is affected. The structural changes can produce a varying degree of developmental difficulties in an individual, depending on which genes experiences the structural change. Chromosome changes are often damaging to an individual causing developmental difficulties and in some cases death can be an outcome. The main risk in this investment would be the ability to afford the cost of a probe. With the wheat market deteriorating the possibility going into the hole on this investment increases drastically. Damage to the probe is also a possibility, and a additional expense that could make the probe less profitable. But in this case the benefits seem to outweigh the risks making this investment one to consider to better serve the customer. After some research was done on the automatictruck probe the focus was shifted to the addition of a new receiving pit and leg. It happened about 42 miles off the coast of Louisiana, in the Gulf Of Mexico, and by the Deepwater Horizon. About 672, 000 gallons (3.19 million barrels) of oil was dropped into the ocean. Common names for it include: the Louisiana Oil Spill, Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, and BP Oil Spill. How It Happened There are four main reasons as to why this oil spill happened, but they were all mechanical flaws. How Do We Prevent Oil Spills Oil spills do not just happen because of boats and system failure. They also happen because of us doing everyday things like heating our house. Most people use oil or gas to heat their house since it is a heat substance, it could leak and cause a spill on land. How do we prevent it though? Companies have to be very careful with their parts. They have to check that everything is in place and working correctly. One mistake could cause an oil spill. They also have to make sure that their tanks are cleaned out. The tanks have to be cleaned once in a while because if they aren t, then the tank might burst letting the oil spill out. The worst thing about oil spills is that small mistakes lead to big consequences.
