Gettysburg Address Essay
Writing an essay on the subject of the "Gettysburg Address" can be quite challenging for several
reasons. Firstly, this iconic speech delivered by Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War
carries immense historical significance, making it essential to delve deep into its context,
significance, and impact. Secondly, dissecting the rhetorical strategies, literary devices, and
profound themes embedded within a relatively short yet powerful address requires careful
analysis and interpretation. Thirdly, crafting an original and insightful essay demands thorough
research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to present unique perspectives
while honoring the legacy of Lincoln's words.
Furthermore, exploring the Gettysburg Address entails navigating complex historical narratives,
political dynamics, and social implications, adding layers of complexity to the writing process.
Additionally, striking a balance between scholarly analysis and engaging storytelling is crucial to
captivate readers and convey the enduring relevance of Lincoln's message in contemporary
discourse.
Despite these challenges, tackling an essay on the "Gettysburg Address" offers a rewarding
intellectual journey, allowing writers to deepen their understanding of history, rhetoric, and
leadership while contributing to ongoing conversations about democracy, equality, and national
identity.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on this topic may pose significant hurdles, the opportunity
to unravel its profound significance and enduring impact makes it a worthwhile endeavor for
scholars, historians, and students alike.

Red Tape Analysis
Public administration can be defined as the process of implementing governmental
policies into results. According to Kettl Public administration exists to implement the
law, and the constitutional system charts the path for authority (2015, p. 56). When a
policy has been formed by the legislator, it is then delegated to the bureaucracy, who
are non elected officials with administrative authority, to carry out public programs.
Thus, becoming the job of the administrator to translate the intent of the legislators by
implementing rules and regulations, known as red tape, for citizens to adhere to.
Society firmly believes that red tape and bureaucracy are inherently bad, and will
always continue to plague the government; however, how accurate is this belief? Due
to the complexity of our government, it requires a bureaucracy to where organizations
allow non elected officials to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regulations are put into place for administrators to follow to avoid the issue of
accountability. Administrators need to exercise their discretion continuously, but
by having them follow certain rules and procedures, red tape ensures that standards
are met when polices are being implemented and executed. Also, red tape assures
society that measures are being taken to ensure the safety of citizens are being met
by all levels of government. Kettl states, Everything from the cars we drive, the
gas we put in them, the bicycles we peddle, the clothes we wear, the banks we use,
the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the airplanes in which we fly is covered by
regulations, and the administrators who write and enforce these rules (2015, p. 38). If
these regulations ceased to exist, there would be no attainable way to guarantee
anything as safe to operate, consume, or

In Elia Kazan s On the Waterfront, we see that to some extent that people do prefer
security to justice. This film focuses on the balance between our moral conscience,
and our need for survival. It explores how much we are influenced by our own need
for survival compared to our sense of justice. Kazan, utilizes characters like Terry, to
explore the limits of human tolerance and the conscience. He depicts a world
shrouded in a blanket of fog and mist, which masks the criminality, corruption and
immorality. Kazan uses this money driven world, to accentuate the economic and

Case Analysis 3 Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs)
1Q. Why have Personal Navigation Devices become popular? What technologies are
required to facilitate the success of PNDs?
ANS: Personal navigation devices can become the next must have gadgets.
They add more comfort in the busy life in the sense that they give you an ability to
concentrate on one thing less. PND like, say, GPS are starting to win over
customers, from weekend hikers or bikers to people who are just tired of their lousy
sense of direction. Some consumer GPS navigation devices feature interactive street
maps that may also show route information, and step by step routing directions. For
these reasons PND s are very helpful and useful.
Some PNA devices are PDAs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3D Maps
Newer PND models are also incorporating 3D map capabilities. 3D map capabilities
enable a PND s map display to be more visually attractive, and also provide more
detailed imagery and enhanced graphics. Maps on PNDs provide displays of city
landmarks and buildings, roads, other points of interest to the driver, and other input
necessary for navigation. The scale of the map display could be adjusted, depending
on the needs of the driver.
3Q. What will be a likely future for PNDs?
ANS: Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Motorola and other handset makers already
introduced GPS phones in 2007.
The inclusion of Google Maps Navigation in Android devices such as Motorola
Droid, and Nokia s announcement of free Ovi Maps, which rapidly integrated into
smart phones.
PND vendors are increasingly looking at value added services enabled by new
devices with wireless connectivity to combat slower market growth, increasing
competition and commoditization of entry level devices. Berg Insight forecasts that
88 percent of PNDs shipped worldwide in 2015 will have integrated cellular
connectivity.
The connected PND segment has had a slow start, but now seems to be on track as
business models have been refined , said AndrГ© Malm, Senior Analyst, Berg
Insight. Although Connected PNDs are unlikely to account for a significant share of
total shipped units next year, rapid growth can be expected once customers get used

Three Musketeers Thesis
One for all, and all for one! The most famous and noticeable line in the Three
Musketeers folklore legacy whether it be from the films to the original book by
Alexandre Dumas. Although this famous line has been used throughout many
reworks and adaptations of the three musketeers, many films have not followed in
the footsteps of the original book and have changed things to best appeal to the
audience. Most noticeably we see this in the 1993 Musketeer movie directed by
Stephen Herek that proclaimed that the main character D Artagnan, father was killed
to set a tense mood. However with that being said, there are also many things that
reflect the time in which the book was written and also the social and political
hierarchy and structure of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously mentioned, the hierarchy of which the French population was
separated was from that of religious figures being the highest to common folk were
placed at the rock bottom of the pyramid. In the film this can be interpreted by the
open fields and the villages in which people were trading their crops for money or
buying them among themself to live off of. France just like any other place during
this time in Europe and also worldwide was mostly agricultural as the first industrial
revolution started in the 1700 s by that of England first. With that being said the
implementation of showing the countryside and the social interactions between D
artagnan and the locals was another way that Stephen Herek subtly shown how
France was during this time.
Ironically the whole plot of the Three Musketeers is a socio political statement in
itself. If not understood by reading the book by Alexandre Dumas and watching the
films, the main plot is that Cardinal Richelieu plots against the king of France,
Louis XIII. In particular this film puts it in which Cardinal Richelieu plots to form
an alliance with England as France is about to go to war. For the Cardinal to even be
able to do something
Influences Of Beauty, Fashion, And Music In The 1900s
The 1900s were known as both an influential and memorable century when talking
about the inspiration on how the American culture is today. This paper will mainly
discuss the influences of beauty, fashion, and music from specific decades that are
deemed to show the changes in American culture today. The first factor to be
considered is beautification and how it played a significant role in the shaping the
trends of the beauty world today. Next will be beauty s right hand the fashion
industry, which has changed as much as the beauty trends throughout time. These
trends will be exampled by the beauty and makeup trend from the first years of the
1900s all the way up to the 1950s decade. Lastly, we will explain how music, from
heavy metal all the way to psychedelic rock, has always been a big influence on
many aspects of a person s life, and just how big of an impact music can have in the
1900s of America. The music that will be discussed will start in the 1960s and
continue on to the year of 1999 (Insert Prince song here). This paper will first go
back to the first years in the 1900s to truly give a background of what beauty was
considered to be in this new century for America. In the very early 1900s, the
clothing was extravagant, while the makeup simple. Yes, it still did take a crew of
people to help just one woman get dressed and undressed in just their day to day
ensemble. The desired shape of a woman was the hourglass shape that was given

Planetary Migration
Even today, scientists understand very little about the formation of Uranus and
Neptune. This made scientists have stated that, ...the possibilities concerning the
formation of Uranus and Neptune are almost endless. However, it has been suggested
that this planetary system evolved in a very non conventional manner, as described in
the following lines. Planetesimals at the disk s inner edge occasionally passed
through gravitational encounters with the outermost giant planet, which calter the
planetesimals orbits. The planets scattered inwards the most of the small icy bodies
that they encountered, exchanging angular momentum with the scattered objects so
that the planets move outwards in response, preserving the angular momentum of the
system.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After several hundreds of millions of years of slow, gradual migration, Jupiter and
Saturn, the two inmost giant planets, crossed their mutual 1:2 mean motion
resonance of orbital motion. This resonance increased their orbital eccentricities to
such an extent, that it destabilized the entire planetary system. The arrangement of
the giant planets altered quickly and very radically. Jupiter shifted Saturn out towards
its present position, and this relocation caused mutual gravitational encounters
between Saturn and the two ice giants, which subsequently propelled the planets
Neptune and Uranus onto much more eccentric orbits. These ice giants then
ploughed into the planetesimal disk, scattering tens of thousands of planetesimals
from their formerly stable orbits in the outer Solar System. This disruption almost
entirely scatters the primordial disk, removing almost 99% of its mass, a scenario
which explains the modern day absence of a dense trans Neptunian population. Some
of the planetesimals were thrown into the inner Solar System, producing a sudden
influx of impacts on the terrestrial planets: yes! It is the Late Heavy

Banning Assault And Semiautomatic Weapons
Banning Assault and Semiautomatic Weapons
Assault style or automatic weapons have been a common denominator in almost all
fatal mass shootings. It is unnecessary for civilians to purchase automatic weapons
for non military use. If there was a ban on the purchasing of militarized weapons by
civilians, it would decrease the number of fatal mass shootings drastically.
Statistics show that in 2015, there were 372 mass shootings, killing 475 people and
wounding 1,870. Also in 2015, there were 64 school shootings, that number include
incidents where a firearm was shot but no one was injured. There are roughly 300
million guns in the United States, which is about a third of the population. The U.S.
Department of Justice and the Council on Foreign Affairs reported that 11,385
people died on average annually in firearm incidents in the U.S. between 2001 and
2011.
During the 1980 s and 1990 s, there were numerous mass shootings that involved
automatic weapons. An example of one of the first mass shootings in the U.S.
occurred in 1989. Patrick Purdy returned to his elementary school in Stockton,
California armed with an AKS rifle, which is similar to the AK 47, and opened fire.
He killed 5 children and wounded 30 others, and then turned the gun on himself. One
of the most horrific mass
murders in the history of the United States was in San Ysidro, California in a
McDonald s. James Huberty killed 21 people and wounded 19 others. The weapon he
used was an Uzi carbine, which is a
An Analysis Of All Over But The Shoutin
In the essay, All Over But the Shoutin , Rick Bragg, the author, depicts the painful
strain inflicted upon family s relationship caused by the reckless action of a father
to forgo the future of his wife and kids in pursuit of his own selfish ambitions. The
author s use of rhetorical moves such as tone, stance, and imagery effectively
portrayed to his audience that, regardless of how debauch a deed may be, there is
always room in one s heart for forgiveness you just have to be receptive to its
backlash. The author s melancholic, yet, optimistic tone arouses mix feelings from
his readers. Bragg clouts his readers perception of his father with harrowing,
however, coveted recollections of the past. In the author s comparative recount of
the Father s demeanor, he paints an unsettling, yet a hopeful life of his father: I
thought he would greet me with that strong voice that sounded so fine when he
laughed and so evil when, slurred by a quart of corn likker, he whirled through the
house and cried and shrieked, tormented by things we could not see or even imagine.
I thought he would be the man and monster of my childhood (Bragg 1). Bragg s
dejected tone when addressing his father s latest demeanor is satirical as the Father s
past behavior is anything but celebratory. The author s conscious decision to compare
his memories of the Father to that of a man and a monster depicts the two emotions
Bragg intended to invoke from his readers through the use of tone: contentment
TV Rating Research
The main purpose of doing this research on the relationship between fantasy
football participation and TV rating is if playing fantasy football helps influences
people to watch televised games of the National Football League (NFL). The main
reason of me doing this research is because I truly believe in this study and I have
past experience of being part of the human beings that have helped the NFL on their
TV ratings.
With this research topic I will be answering three research question. My primary
research question: Does having a high percent of NFL players that are in starting
lineups spark an increase in TV ratings in those games? Second research question:
Having NFL players that are on high winning teams increase TV ratings? Third
research question: A gamewith a small margin of victory increase TV ratings.
Research Question One
Does having a high percent of NFL players that are in starting lineups spark an
increase in TV ratings in those games? To find results you have to look at players
that were starting in fifty percent to ninety percent of leagues. Also need to look at
results from Sunday night football, Monday night football, NFL on CBS, and NFL
on ESPN. I found some great tables to help picture the results.

Finding these results they looked at NFL players that were in between fifty percent
to ninety percent of fantasy football leagues. They also tested it on the most popular
football channels such as NBC and ESPN. People already believe that having those
NFL players that are on high winning teams increase TV rating but really it all
depends what channel it s shown on. For NBC, studies show that there were notable
conclusion between the winning percentage and NFL players but this was only
shown with NFL players starting greater than ninety percent of leagues. ESPN was
the opposite. They had notable results with players starting in greater than fifty
percent of
Vladek Spiegelman
It is human nature to go through difficulties, they shape who we are as people for
good or for bad. It is not the challenges that shape who we are as people, but how
we react and the lesson we take away from our misfortunes. In the story of Maus 1
and 2, we can analyze Vladek Spiegelman and see how his struggles have given us
immense knowledge about humanity, and some of the flaws. In the stories of Maus1
and 2, Art Spiegelmanuses Vladek s dialogue to show that humanity will judge and

Mala and Vladek rarely can cooperate with each other and are constantly fighting

Vladek criticized and brought Mala down. The dialogue used to express this
situation was Vladek stating Mala could go for a whole evening out with her
friends and leave for me nothing cooked to eat or drink then following with Sigh.
You see how it is? I have now one more time an unnecessary suffering in my life .
From this we can draw that he is agitated that Mala does not care for his every need
like a maid. Vladek was dragging Mala down for leaving without making food only
sometimes and being selfish. Instead of helping himself he has to add on saying an
unnecessary suffering in my life which is expressing what his needs are is more

The Effect On The Rule Of Law
When the rule of law has been established by societal conventions, it can be
changed when the government coerces the enforcement of unfair rules. When the
rule of law is established through the government, smuggling will often undermine
it because the law is not being applied equally to the smugglers, and they gain an
unfair advantage in the market. One can argue that the smugglers are responding
to unfair tariffs that prevent the rule of law because they as importers have to a
tax that domestic producers do not have to pay. If the rule of law has been
established so tariffs are small, and fair, then the argument is flawed. Negative
effects on the rule of law caused by the tariff will be smaller than the negative effect
on the rule of law when the law does not apply equally to everyone, and smugglers
bribe official to successfully importtheir goods so when the rule of law is well
established, smuggling undermines it.
When a country does not have a well established rule of law, then smuggling can
help created a strong De Facto rule of law by encouraging equitable societal
conventions. If tariffs are sufficiently high, and importation or exportation bans are
comprehensive, then people stop applying the government s rules and in turn they
create a new set of societal conventions that people adhere too. When this happens,
the rule of law is strengthen because smugglers avoid stifling tariffs, and the rules are
applied more equitably to foreign producers, and domestic

Counterfactuals Personal Identity
Personal identity is significantly complicated to obtain. The actual reason behind
this complication is that every person has a moment in life where he or she
chooses to change his or her true self in order to be accepted in the surrounding
society. Imagination holds a significant part in contributing to a person s identity
development. Alison Gopnik introduces her readers to counterfactuals and
counterfactual thinking, in her essay Possible Worlds: Why Do Children pretend?
She writes, Human beings don t live in the real world. The real world is what
actually happened in the past, is happening now, and will happen in the future
(Gopnik 163). With this she is trying say that we don t live in a single world but live

Imagination is the ability to create a whole new world inside the mind. It gives us the
ability to look at any circumstance from a different point of view, our personal point
of view. Gopnik in her essay has written, Knowledge is actually what gives
imagination its power, what makes creativity possible. It s because we know
something about how events are connected in the world that we can imagine altering
those connections and creating new ones (Gopnik 181). A person with good creative
abilities is said to have strong and a developed sense of imagination. A strong sense
of imagination not only strengthens your creative abilities but also makes
counterfactual thinking possible. On the other hand covering would not have been
possible without the power of imagination; hence covering could be a branch of
imagination. A person requires creative ability to cover. Multiple identities and
multiple voices are a result of imagination. Yoshino in his essay has written, I suspect
they were all bowing to an unjust reality that required them tone down their
stigmatized identities to get along in life (Yoshino 294). All the famous names
Yoshino talks about in his essay have covered their original identity and nobody

Narrative Transcranial Magnetic Recovery
The aim of this study was to investigate whether repetitive transcranial magnetic
stimulation (rTMS) can improve motor recovery in lower extremities of the patients
with subacute stage spinal cord injury (SCI). This study was conducted with 19
subjects diagnosed with paraplegia because of SCI. The experimental group
included 10 subjects who underwent active rTMS, and the control group included 9
subjects who underwent sham rTMS. The SCI patients in the experimental group
underwent conventional rehabilitation therapy, and active rTMS was applied daily
to the hotspot of the lesional hemisphere. The SCI patients in the control group
underwent sham rTMS and conventional rehabilitation therapy. The participants in
both the groups received therapy five days per week for six weeks. Latency,
amplitude, and velocity were assessed before and after the six week therapy period.
A significant difference in post treatment gains for the latency and velocity was
observed between the experimental and control groups (p 0.05). We conclude that
rTMS may be beneficial in improving motor recovery in lower extremities of
subacute stage SCI patients.

The Importance of Education in The Republic by Plato
The great philosopher Plato, speaking through the character of Socrates in his
book The Republic, holds the belief that true and good education is what leads
civilizations to prosper. Due to this, he is very concerned with the issue of
education and how it will be addressed in the state that he and his fellow
companions hope to design and build. He talks about how important education is in
achieving this idea of justice and morality. Furthermore, I believe that many of the
concepts he brings about relating to this subject are still very valid today and can be
applied worldwide. Platobelieves that education is necessary for the rulers of cities
to be effective and that it is the only way to truly understand and achieve the goal
of providing and looking out for the citizens of any state. One of the reasons Plato
finds education such a necessity and regards it so highly is that it is required to
even understand the concept of true justice and being able to distinguish it from
injustice. Now although the major point of this book is to establish a meaning for
justice, he believes that education is key and it is clear that all the people he
associates with in the story are well educated high members of society. Having
knowledge on this subject and many others will allow those that eventually become
guardians to tell when something is not just or is at least not beneficial for the well
being of the citizens. Education is also a major factor in understanding the souland the
Analysis Of The Poem Hills Like White Elephants
Elephants, specifically white elephants, the Bible, and the beautiful red bud of a
blooming rose, all have a similar meaning. The answer to the meaning of these
material objects would be curtains, tall and wide mountains like the Appalachians,
and trains. These may just be material objects, but the allegory, or symbolism, is
alive and useful in both history and present day. Hills Like White Elephants , A
Rose For Emily , and Where Are You Going, Where have you been? are all fictional
short stories, with numerous amounts of allegory, or symbolism, to be analyzed by
the use of quotes from each story, and all with both a short term symbolic meaning
and a long term overall theme.
I was intrigued by all of the symbolism in Hills Like White Elephants . At first, I did

Essay on Flood Legends From Around the World
There are flood stories from many cultures. The flood stories usually consist of a
higher power that floods a civilization due to some act that has made the higher
power angry. The stories talk about one specific family and how the flood
consumes the entire globe. So many cultures have a story about a great flood that
have many similar details that it is hard to not believe that it is not true, but
whether the story of a great flood is true or not, it is up to the individual to decide.
Judaism is religion that many Hebrews are a part of. Many Christian religions like
Catholicism also believe the same story that the Jews do about the great flood. They
believe that God had become so upset with mankind s evil ways, he wanted to... Show

He then sent out a dove that came back without anything. A week later Noah sent
the dove out again, and the dove returned with an olive branch. The next week the
dove did not return to the ark. After a year and ten days of being in the ark, Noah
and his family emerged with the animals. Noah sacrificed some of the animals to
God, and God was so pleased he vowed to never destroy all of the living creatures
with a flood again. The rainbow that appeared was like the signature to an
agreement that he would never do it again. The animals ran wild and began to
produce and God told Noah s family to repopulate the earth (Genesis 6 9).
In Greek mythology, Zeus wanted to destroy the men of the Bronze Age so he sent
a flood. He thought the people of this age were very wicked. Prometheus advised
his son Deucalion to build a chest. All other men perished except for a few who
escaped to high mountains (). After Deucalion and his wife floated in the chest for
nine days they land on Parnassus. Then, he made a sacrifice to Zeus in which he
threw stones and they became men. Then his wife threw stones and they became
women. This story focuses on one family in particular, Deucalion and his wife.
There is a great flood that wipes everyone out but them, and a great higher power,
Zeus, did this to the earth. In Roman mythology, which is very similar to Greek
mythology, there is a flood story as well.

as a symbol for a baby; the cat is helpless and needs someone to take care of it just
as a baby would. His use of rain in this story is a symbol of fertility; this is why no
one wants her to get wet while trying to get the cat. Hemmingway uses the setting

1. INTRODUCTION
The Internet is a network of networks. It is based on the concept of packet switching.
Though the services offered by Internet are extensively used from a layman to multi
millionaire it also has its own defects. Many attacks on Internet are being identified
and reported. Some of the common types of
network attacks are eavesdropping, data modification, identity spoofing, password
based attacks and denial of service attacks. To overcome all these types of attacks an
organisation usually installs an intrusion detection system to protect the confidential
data exchanged over its network. The local network is then connected to the Internet
thereby availing the employees to be online on the fly. Information security has three
main objectives namely 1. Data confidentiality 2.Data integrity 3. Data availability.
Data confidentiality ensures that the secure data can be accessed only by authorized
persons. Data integrity allows secure modification of data. Data availability ensures
that the data is available readily to authorized persons. Small scale industries often do
not prefer on intrusion detection systems due to its installation and maintenance
costs. Honeypots and Honeynets are an efficient alternative for such
Immigration Restriction Law of 1924 Essay
The immigration act of 1924 was really the first permanent limitation on immigration.
This limitation was like a quota system that only aloud two percent instead of the
three percent of each foreign born group living in the United states in 1890. Like it
say in Document A Under the act of 1924 the number of each nationality who may be
admitted annually is limited to two per cent of the population of such nationality
resident in the United States according to the censusof 1890. Using the 1890 census
instead of newer up to date ones they excluded a lot of new immigrants from
Southern and Eastern Europe that came by in resent years (This is shown awfully

He also talks about how we should just close the doors and were fine the way we
are but of course during WW I and II, the United States recruited thousands of
temporary workers from Mexico to harvest the crops. We had labor short farms and
we needed other countries to come help us with workers.
Their was also considerable amount of pressure from such groups as the KKK and
other white groups. These were the most prejudice people that were in America at
the time. Document J shows says it the best when Hiram W. Evans said we of the
Klan admit that we are intolerant and narrow in a certain sense.....We are intolerant of
everything that strikes at the foundation of out race, our country, or our freedom or
worship.....We are prejudiced against any attempt to use the privileges and
opportunities which aliens hold only through out generosity. He say that they should
only have privileges because the white Americans give it to them and that is so
wrong to ever say or even believe. The KKK really just feared the new immigrants
that they would take power over the protestant white males.
The other aspect is that the new immigrants were just walking all over American rule
and not caring about laws and things. It states in Document F We must rid our minds
of the notion that America is some kind of world

touches on many important subjects like finding your voice and the true power of
your voice. These chapters and portions of the self help novel particularly stood out

It didn t take long for me to underline a statement or quote that stood out to me and
followed similar moral beliefs. For example in the first page of the introduction
Gentile states, This book is not about changing who we are, but rather it is about
empowering the parts of us that already want to do the right thing This fits well
with this book especially when we are discussing values. This quote shows how we
all have our own unique values already embedded within us. The empowering
aspect is in direct correlation with the finding your voice and knowing the true
power of your voice portions of the book. Another portion of the novel I liked was
in the Power of Choice section. It mentions, Both as means to gather more
information and build allies as well as a means to ultimately persuade our target
audience, it is most effective to open a discussion with question rather than
arguments and assertions. I have read and heard variations of this a lot recently.
Even in class a professor mentioned starting anything in the right tone and with
positive words will result in a mirrored style relation. This is because in life what
you put in is what you tend to get out. I gotta a sense of that while reading that
portion, and I totally agree and live by that

OCCASION OF THEIR DIOCESAN WOMEN CONFERENCE HELD AT THE
CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF HOLY TRINITY, LOKOJA ON 29 TH 31ST AUGUST,
2014 Preamble to the Gospel according to St. John
Just as every coin has two valid sides, so Jesus Christ has two natures, also both
valid. While the Gospel according to St. Luke presents Jesus in His humanity as the
Son of Man, the Gospel of John showcases Christ in His divinity as the Son of God.
The writer John, who along with Peter and James formed the inner circle disciple
of Jesus, never refers to himself by name, but always calls himself the disciple whom
Jesus loved, as the writer of this Gospel. (John 13:23, 19: 26; 20:2; 21:7, ... Show

Mary tells the servants, Do whatever he tells you, and with these words she echoes
Israel s profession of faith at Sinai. Mary personifies in a certain manner the people
of Israel in the context of the covenant and stands as a faithful representative of Israel.
Joseph and Jesus
Second, Mary s words find a close parallel with what Pharaoh said about Joseph in
the Book of Genesis. During the severe famine in Egypt, Pharaoh put Joseph in
charge of storing up the wheat harvest in the plentiful years before the famine and
distributing it once the food crisis arrived. When the starving people cried for
provisions, Pharaoh told them, Go to Joseph; what he says to you, do (Gen. 41:55)
an expression almost identical to what Mary would later say at Cana.
This Biblical connection between doing whatever Joseph says and doing whatever
Jesus says is quite significant, for there are several parallels between Joseph and
Jesus in these two scenes. Just as Joseph overcame a lack of food during the
famine with his storehouses of grain, so Jesus overcomes a lack of wine at the
wedding by changing a large volume of water into wine. Just as Joseph is
presented as having the Spirit of God in him at the beginning of his work (Gen.
41:38), so Jesus is described as having the Spirit upon Him at the start of His ministry
(Jn. 1:32). Just as Joseph was 30 years old when he began to

culmination of Chinese struggle against Japanese oppression. The overarching focus

The Second Sino Japanese War is remembered in Chinese history as a crucial turning
point. Throughout the 20th century, China was fighting to retain its national
sovereignty over imperial powers that would rather carve China into spheres of
political influence. Anti Japanese sentiment is one of the most common themes in
Chinese martial arts films.2 Chinese martial arts films are also closely associated
with anti imperialism, filial piety, and confucian based morality. The films Ip Man
and Fist of Legend, make use of anti Japanese sentiments to conjure feelings of
nationalism in the audience. In what has developed as a unique expression of
Chinese national identity, martial arts films have provided the Chinese audience with
a conduit for national pride.
Ip Man and Fist of Legend were designed to be easily consumed by a Chinese
audience. The box office success of both of these films can be attributed in large part
to their identical cinematic elements that consolidate the mainstream political agenda
with pleasing cinema. The films draw on thrilling fight scenes, an epic and semi
historical storyline, popular lead actors, machismo through violence, and a central
theme of Chinese nationalism. Combining those values together resulted in films that
were clearly targeting the Chinese diaspora and in the director s eye, all other
audiences that found the film enjoyable were an added bonus. Donnie Yen

How Does Wang Lung Change In The Good Earth
Throughout The Good Earth, Wang Lung s life changes drastically, but his
hardworking nature and severe self consciousness does not change. Wang Lung s
diligence and perseverance towards his land and dream of success definitely paid

social standing did result in many bad decisions, it made Wang Lung who he is.
Whether good or bad individually, his two constant traits helped Wang Lung achieve
his dream. Wang Lung s positive trait that stayed with him was his determination and
hard working nature. These traits must have come from his time tending the land due
to its tedious but rewarding work. It s obvious that Wang Lung s positive personalities
come from the land because he learns lessons and good qualities through hard work.

Did you know that the British Empire, the most extensive empire in world history,

It s recognizable that Britain only gains global power because the advantages of
regional issues in Europesuch as trading, compromising and finances. During the 18
century, Britain and France fought many battles causing issues to Europes people
leaving them with nothing and nothing to look to, But today you cannot tell they

Finances was another reason why Britain had global power when Britain had the
chance to get or earn money they did. For example, when Britain made the Bengali
government pay for paying military expenses and war transportation, This gave
them much more of a reputation. When Britain agreed to MirJafar paying the
troops if he needed them again for war showed that Britain got what they wanted
and forced them to get what they needed, The British also had help when Spain
taxed the Spanish colonist to sell goods. The reason the British needed the
products to be taxed was so they could gain higher profits and power, by them
making a higher profit allowed them to get things they needed for war. The reason
Britain has so much money is that they made allies with people and made
compromises, Britain did a trade for trade that guaranteed they wouldn t have to pay
for the war. This caused Britain to gain the most power and control europe by doing
things that involved selling and fighting to show that they are the big team and will

Plato On Education Summary
Plato is regarded at the world s greatest philosopher. He had views and opinions on
everything they teach in school and then some. He even had views and opinions on
how the school process, or education, should go. Plato s Republic Books 1 7 target
the three primary points of education; the intentional selection or deselection of
media, the Theory of the Forms, and the use of fear and pain as the part of the
educationprocess. In Republic Books 1 7 Platotells us that in order to properly
educate a child one must purposefully expose that child to some things, while also
prevent them from other things. This is to say, the one raising the child must
carefully decide what the child is exposed to as to form the child in a way that is
good and presentable. This process of selection and deselection, whether
intentional or not, shapes the child from his or her very first moments. Plato,
along with his view of the perfect state he also had a view of the perfect way to

first one being, Children enter school at six where they first learn the three Rs

may agree with this and say that they don t believe in this.Even in the modern
United States many skeptics criticize government as being controlled by greedy,
corrupt people who are only interested in lining their own pockets. If we look to the
past for an answer from our history of asking if the government is actually by the
people, for the people and of the people and , we find comments like these: Behold
my sons, with how little wisdom... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our government is a democracy, democracy, in other words, the people. There were
founders that thought democracy wasn t a good idea. The term democracy comes
from two Greek words: demos (the people) and keratin . So of course
DEMOCRACY is a form of government that gives power to the people. But how,
when, and to which people? The answer to those questions changes through history.
To talk more about the history of democracy the Greeks would practice direct
democracy a system in which votes are taken , and then make decisions by majority
rule. Unfortunately, only free males were considered to be citizens. Democracy was
limited at the time only to the male since at the time women were being
Teacher Reflection
This passage from the book exemplifies the importance of a role that a teacher plays
in a child s life. Teachers have the ability to improve a child s life without even
realizing it a refreshing revelation for both new and old teachers who may often
wonder if they have ever made a difference. In most classrooms there will be students
who will say they do not wish to be there and do not want to learn. And while the
student s unwillingness to learn is frustrating for teachers at times, the teacher creates
the learning environment and can do much to motivate her students to succeed. By
implementing effective teaching strategies, teachers can influence and motivate their
students.
Tracy Kidder wrote Among Schoolchildren after spending nine months in Mrs. Zajac
s fifth grade classroom located in the Flats of Massachusetts. This books gives an
insight to many in the education field about how economic class, ethnicity, and
parental involvement can harm or benefit education. The setting is in a low socio
economic class neighborhood in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a town consisting of a
high population of people of Puerto Rican descent. Miss Zajac s class is made up of
about twenty students, most of whom are Puerto Rican, low income students, many
of whom have been abused, neglected, or have emotional difficulties. Kidder portrays
Miss Zajac as a charming yet tough, fair, and dedicated teacher. Among
Schoolchildren focuses on a particular group of students, especially those that give
Daphne And Velma
Until this day I still enjoy watching sitcoms and programs that the targeted
audience is children who are under the age of 13. At first I really never noticed the
portrayal in T.V. programs for kids. I guess I was always the middle child whose
happiness depended on T.V. programs. Arthur, PBS program, showed how perfect a
family can be. Arthur, tells us a lot about children s literature and race. The most
stereotypical family is the father who goes on about his day to day job while the
mother works from home and cares about the kids. Although, I did not realize the
slight twist that my favorite show as a kid had. In addition, another show targeted to
children is Scooby Doo, Where are you! Not to mention, The Jetsons is another
famous T.V. program

Is one program for kids who displays portrayal. The two main females, Daphne and
Velma, both wear skirts, but that is where their similarities end. In this episode,
Daphne is seen as the delicate yet embodiment female in the show. She has a tiny
waist and skinny arms and legs. Daphne is an attractive character, but represents no
knowledge to her character. Velma, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. She is
slightly overweight with sloppy clothing and with large glasses. In Scooby Doo
and a Mummy Too, Season 1, Episode 12, it is the group s duty to find a mummy
that has gone lose. Freddie is the one who is the direct cause of a conflict
resolution. In fact, he is also the main character who leads group discussions and is
the primary decision maker. He came up with a plan to catch the villain in this case a
mummy. In addition to this, Freddie was also the one who discovered who the
mummy really was. Gender roles are played all throughout the episode.
Now, in The Jetsons, it is typical that all the females were drawn to the same body
shape and type of clothing. All the female characters are portrayed in a very
stereotypical way. Either they are fit or extremely obese and all women regardless
of body shape are shown in pastel colored. In the Jetsons, Season 1 Episode 3
(Jetson s Nite Out) George gets invited to a football game by Mr. Spacely, so they
fool their wives into thinking they will be working late. It all goes as planned until

Current Customer Relationship Management System
Situation
In 2008 Telstra transformed from its old DOS based computer systems to its current
Customer Relationship Management system (Siebel), this transition was not well
executed by its decision makers due to system bugs affecting Siebel s billing, signup
provision and activation process.
Soon after Telstras systematic transformation begun, Telstra cut 500 Jobs from
Australian based call centres and outsourced them to call centres in the Philippines.
Telstra has continuously used in its marketing the message of Telstra being an
Australian company for all Australians throughout their marketing
campaigns(Sainsbury, 2007).
Moreover, a fortnight before Telstra decided to outsource jobs to call centres in the
Philippines. The company was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Telstra under Sol Trujillo s leadership continued to make headlines in Australian
media as Trujillo was expecting to pay himself up to $17 million for the financial
year of 2007/2008 although 66 percent of shareholders voted against the new
executive pay structure it went ahead as the votes were non binding. Furthermore,
Telstra was facing a lawsuit because s shareholders were not informed about Telstra
s decline in revenue of $1.2 billion for its fixed line phone business from 2005 2008.
Telstra settled the law suit for $300 million before further proceedings (Moran, 2007).
Trujillo s Leadership
Influence
Trujillo s managed to transform Telstra from being a product focused company to a
customer focused company by converting the company into a media company instead
of just being a telecommunications company. Telstra before Trujillo s arrival was a
company that only focused on telephone lines, internet and business directories where
Trujillo introduced the Next G Network, Bigpond, telephone and Foxtel bundle.
Furthermore, Trujillo managed to influence his followers with his Power Expert
(Hughes, Ginnett and Curphy, 2012) as he has been in the telecommunications
industry for his entire professional career this allowed his followers to trust is vision
towards the future of their company which also influenced credibility towards his
leadership style because
William H. Harrison s Presidency
How many times has something in your life gone drastically different than
planned? Perhaps something ironic. Ever since William H. Harrison s presidency
in 1840, every American president elected in a year ending with an 0 has died while
in office. JFK was the last president to continue this sequence. It was election year
again and Kennedy took a trip to Texas in purpose of running for a second term. The
Kennedy family left Washington D. C. on Thursday, November 21st. They flew into
San Antonio, Houston, and Fort Worth and they arrived to Texas in the early
afternoon the next day.
As Kennedy was riding with his wife through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas,
crowds of his supporters gathered to watch and wave. As the convertible was ... Show

While Gilbert was patiently waiting, he heard on the radio some of the most shocking
news. President John F. Kennedy was murdered. Baffled by the news, Pieper sat in
shock and there was nothing he could do but sit and take in the news. Kennedy was a
great man and so many people wondered why someone would murder such an
important symbol of our country. Later that afternoon, Vice President, Lyndon B
Johnson, was admitted to take over. It was announced at two thirty pm that day and
Johnson became the thirty sixth president of the United States.
President Johnson got to the hospital as fast as he could. He stayed until he heard
the dreadful news, then went back to the airport and got on the plane. The plane
was already holding Kennedy s body inside his casket. Others on the plane back to
Washington included the new chief executive, and his wife, as well as Mrs.
Kennedy. When the plane arrived back at the White House, Johnson gave a speech

Two days following the tragedy, Lee Harvey Oswaldwas arrested for the
assassination of John F. Kennedy. While he was being transported into the Dallas
police station, he was shot and killed by Jack Ruby. Jack Ruby was a local club

To begin to look at the complex issues arising from the divisions created in France
due to xenophobia, we need to go back to the formation of the French republic.
When French citizens overthrew the monarchy they were adamant that France
would be tolerant of all of its citizens regardless of their political or religious views.
Thomas Paine s Rights of man and citizen (1789) was intended to be the basis of

This act of terrorism led the French government to have 1600 foreigners expelled
from the country and made them re examine the administration and policing of
immigrants. The government began to look at formulating new measures to protect
against the foreign threat and with public opinion and media influence the decisions
reflected the anxieties of France based on misrepresentations of the truth and on false
generalizations. 5
After the terrorist activity, anti Semitism began to be an issue that was beginning
to boil over the surface. The fact that foreign immigrant workers did not have to
pay taxes while working and were exempt from military conscription was to be the
beginning of major social problems in the first decade of the Twentieth Century,
particularly in 1914. During the outbreak of World War One, there was a general
mobilisation of Frenchmen to the military which left major gaps in the French
workforce. The Initial outbreak of the war produced masses of displaced refugees
looking for asylum in France, particularly from Germany and Belgium with an
estimated 205,000 people entering France in the early stages of the war. With the
vacancies in the workforce the French government ordered deployments
Cons Of Rail Transport
II.Pros and cons of using Rail/risks and benefits of using Rail There are several
pros and cons to any mode of transportation. These pros and cons include cost,
efficiency, and responsiveness. The goal is to find the most appropriate mode of
transportation for the type, amount, and destination of cargo. There will be different
needs for every product, origin, destination, and organization. First on the list is cost.
Cost of transportation is one of the major considerations involved in a successful
supply chain. Fortunately, in this department rail is one of the best performers. Rail
is known for being a relatively inexpensive mode of transporting large amounts of
overland cargo. In fact, The price structure and heavy load capability... Show more

On the other hand, if the organization were able to ship their goods by truck, then
they would have the option of either operating an in house fleet or outsourcing
their transportation needs. When comparing rail to tucking it is important to keep
some things in mind. In the early days, the choice of rail vs truck was easy
because by the time that transportation by tuck came about rail transportation had
been around for a long time. In addition, the adoption of motor cars also proved to
be more gradual than that of passenger trains, the result of primitive technologies,
high costs, and poor roads (GRANT, 2012, p. 248). This further added to the
dominance of rail. In defense of trucking it can hall large amounts of cargo over
long distances. In addition, it can do so with a reasonably high degree of
responsiveness. However, the amount of cargo that rail can hall is considerably
larger than that of trucking. The responsiveness of trucking also comes at a higher
cost then rail. Trucking is more suited to haling more expensive goods that require
higher responsiveness. However, in other parts of the world where the rail
infrastructure is more developed or more suitable for transporting cargo this may not
be an option. Perhaps the best use of both rail and truck is in combination through
intermodal transportation. This method makes use of one or more transportation
methods in order to achieve to achieve the best mix of

  • 2. Red Tape Analysis Public administration can be defined as the process of implementing governmental policies into results. According to Kettl Public administration exists to implement the law, and the constitutional system charts the path for authority (2015, p. 56). When a policy has been formed by the legislator, it is then delegated to the bureaucracy, who are non elected officials with administrative authority, to carry out public programs. Thus, becoming the job of the administrator to translate the intent of the legislators by implementing rules and regulations, known as red tape, for citizens to adhere to. Society firmly believes that red tape and bureaucracy are inherently bad, and will always continue to plague the government; however, how accurate is this belief? Kettl states, Everything from the cars we drive, the gas we put in them, the bicycles we peddle, the clothes we wear, the banks we use, the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the airplanes in which we fly is covered by regulations, and the administrators who write and enforce these rules (2015, p. 38). • 7. Three Musketeers Thesis One for all, and all for one! The most famous and noticeable line in the Three Musketeers folklore legacy whether it be from the films to the original book by Alexandre Dumas. Although this famous line has been used throughout many reworks and adaptations of the three musketeers, many films have not followed in the footsteps of the original book and have changed things to best appeal to the audience. Most noticeably we see this in the 1993 Musketeer movie directed by Stephen Herek that proclaimed that the main character D Artagnan, father was killed to set a tense mood. However with that being said, there are also many things that reflect the time in which the book was written and also the social and political hierarchy and structure of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously mentioned, the hierarchy of which the French population was separated was from that of religious figures being the highest to common folk were placed at the rock bottom of the pyramid. In the film this can be interpreted by the open fields and the villages in which people were trading their crops for money or buying them among themself to live off of. France just like any other place during this time in Europe and also worldwide was mostly agricultural as the first industrial revolution started in the 1700 s by that of England first. With that being said the implementation of showing the countryside and the social interactions between D artagnan and the locals was another way that Stephen Herek subtly shown how France was during this time. Ironically the whole plot of the Three Musketeers is a socio political statement in itself. If not understood by reading the book by Alexandre Dumas and watching the films, the main plot is that Cardinal Richelieu plots against the king of France, Louis XIII. In particular this film puts it in which Cardinal Richelieu plots to form an alliance with England as France is about to go to war. For the Cardinal to even be able to do something
  • 8. Influences Of Beauty, Fashion, And Music In The 1900s The 1900s were known as both an influential and memorable century when talking about the inspiration on how the American culture is today. This paper will mainly discuss the influences of beauty, fashion, and music from specific decades that are deemed to show the changes in American culture today. The first factor to be considered is beautification and how it played a significant role in the shaping the trends of the beauty world today. Next will be beauty s right hand the fashion industry, which has changed as much as the beauty trends throughout time. These trends will be exampled by the beauty and makeup trend from the first years of the 1900s all the way up to the 1950s decade. Lastly, we will explain how music, from heavy metal all the way to psychedelic rock, has always been a big influence on many aspects of a person s life, and just how big of an impact music can have in the 1900s of America. The music that will be discussed will start in the 1960s and continue on to the year of 1999 (Insert Prince song here). This paper will first go back to the first years in the 1900s to truly give a background of what beauty was considered to be in this new century for America. In the very early 1900s, the clothing was extravagant, while the makeup simple. Yes, it still did take a crew of people to help just one woman get dressed and undressed in just their day to day ensemble. The desired shape of a woman was the hourglass shape that was given from the restriction of
  • 9. Planetary Migration Even today, scientists understand very little about the formation of Uranus and Neptune. This made scientists have stated that, ...the possibilities concerning the formation of Uranus and Neptune are almost endless. However, it has been suggested that this planetary system evolved in a very non conventional manner, as described in the following lines. Planetesimals at the disk s inner edge occasionally passed through gravitational encounters with the outermost giant planet, which calter the planetesimals orbits. The planets scattered inwards the most of the small icy bodies that they encountered, exchanging angular momentum with the scattered objects so that the planets move outwards in response, preserving the angular momentum of the system.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After several hundreds of millions of years of slow, gradual migration, Jupiter and Saturn, the two inmost giant planets, crossed their mutual 1:2 mean motion resonance of orbital motion. This resonance increased their orbital eccentricities to such an extent, that it destabilized the entire planetary system. The arrangement of the giant planets altered quickly and very radically. Jupiter shifted Saturn out towards its present position, and this relocation caused mutual gravitational encounters between Saturn and the two ice giants, which subsequently propelled the planets Neptune and Uranus onto much more eccentric orbits. These ice giants then ploughed into the planetesimal disk, scattering tens of thousands of planetesimals from their formerly stable orbits in the outer Solar System. This disruption almost entirely scatters the primordial disk, removing almost 99% of its mass, a scenario which explains the modern day absence of a dense trans Neptunian population. Some of the planetesimals were thrown into the inner Solar System, producing a sudden influx of impacts on the terrestrial planets: yes! It is the Late Heavy

  • 11. Banning Assault And Semiautomatic Weapons Banning Assault and Semiautomatic Weapons Assault style or automatic weapons have been a common denominator in almost all fatal mass shootings. It is unnecessary for civilians to purchase automatic weapons for non military use. If there was a ban on the purchasing of militarized weapons by civilians, it would decrease the number of fatal mass shootings drastically. Statistics show that in 2015, there were 372 mass shootings, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870. Also in 2015, there were 64 school shootings, that number include incidents where a firearm was shot but no one was injured. There are roughly 300 million guns in the United States, which is about a third of the population. The U.S. Department of Justice and the Council on Foreign Affairs reported that 11,385 people died on average annually in firearm incidents in the U.S. between 2001 and 2011. During the 1980 s and 1990 s, there were numerous mass shootings that involved automatic weapons. An example of one of the first mass shootings in the U.S. occurred in 1989. Patrick Purdy returned to his elementary school in Stockton, California armed with an AKS rifle, which is similar to the AK 47, and opened fire. He killed 5 children and wounded 30 others, and then turned the gun on himself. • 12. An Analysis Of All Over But The Shoutin In the essay, All Over But the Shoutin , Rick Bragg, the author, depicts the painful strain inflicted upon family s relationship caused by the reckless action of a father to forgo the future of his wife and kids in pursuit of his own selfish ambitions. The author s use of rhetorical moves such as tone, stance, and imagery effectively portrayed to his audience that, regardless of how debauch a deed may be, there is always room in one s heart for forgiveness you just have to be receptive to its backlash. The author s melancholic, yet, optimistic tone arouses mix feelings from his readers. Bragg clouts his readers perception of his father with harrowing, however, coveted recollections of the past. In the author s comparative recount of the Father s demeanor, he paints an unsettling, yet a hopeful life of his father: I thought he would greet me with that strong voice that sounded so fine when he laughed and so evil when, slurred by a quart of corn likker, he whirled through the house and cried and shrieked, tormented by things we could not see or even imagine. I thought he would be the man and monster of my childhood (Bragg 1). Bragg s dejected tone when addressing his father s latest demeanor is satirical as the Father s past behavior is anything but celebratory. The author s conscious decision to compare his memories of the Father to that of a man and a monster depicts the two emotions Bragg intended to invoke from his readers through the use of tone: contentment

TV Rating Research The main purpose of doing this research on the relationship between fantasy football participation and TV rating is if playing fantasy football helps influences people to watch televised games of the National Football League (NFL). The main reason of me doing this research is because I truly believe in this study and I have past experience of being part of the human beings that have helped the NFL on their TV ratings. With this research topic I will be answering three research question. My primary research question: Does having a high percent of NFL players that are in starting lineups spark an increase in TV ratings in those games? Second research question: Having NFL players that are on high winning teams increase TV ratings? Third research question: A gamewith a small margin of victory increase TV ratings. • 16. The Effect On The Rule Of Law When the rule of law has been established by societal conventions, it can be changed when the government coerces the enforcement of unfair rules. When the rule of law is established through the government, smuggling will often undermine it because the law is not being applied equally to the smugglers, and they gain an unfair advantage in the market. One can argue that the smugglers are responding to unfair tariffs that prevent the rule of law because they as importers have to a tax that domestic producers do not have to pay. If the rule of law has been established so tariffs are small, and fair, then the argument is flawed. Negative effects on the rule of law caused by the tariff will be smaller than the negative effect on the rule of law when the law does not apply equally to everyone, and smugglers bribe official to successfully importtheir goods so when the rule of law is well established, smuggling undermines it. When a country does not have a well established rule of law, then smuggling can help created a strong De Facto rule of law by encouraging equitable societal conventions. If tariffs are sufficiently high, and importation or exportation bans are comprehensive, then people stop applying the government s rules and in turn they create a new set of societal conventions that people adhere too. When this happens, the rule of law is strengthen because smugglers avoid stifling tariffs, and the rules are applied more equitably to foreign producers, and domestic

The actual reason behind this complication is that every person has a moment in life where he or she chooses to change his or her true self in order to be accepted in the surrounding society. Imagination holds a significant part in contributing to a person s identity development. Alison Gopnik introduces her readers to counterfactuals and counterfactual thinking, in her essay Possible Worlds: Why Do Children pretend? She writes, Human beings don t live in the real world. Imagination is the ability to create a whole new world inside the mind. It gives us the ability to look at any circumstance from a different point of view, our personal point of view. Gopnik in her essay has written, Knowledge is actually what gives imagination its power, what makes creativity possible. It s because we know something about how events are connected in the world that we can imagine altering those connections and creating new ones (Gopnik 181). Narrative Transcranial Magnetic Recovery The aim of this study was to investigate whether repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can improve motor recovery in lower extremities of the patients with subacute stage spinal cord injury (SCI). This study was conducted with 19 subjects diagnosed with paraplegia because of SCI. The experimental group included 10 subjects who underwent active rTMS, and the control group included 9 subjects who underwent sham rTMS. The SCI patients in the experimental group underwent conventional rehabilitation therapy, and active rTMS was applied daily to the hotspot of the lesional hemisphere. The SCI patients in the control group underwent sham rTMS and conventional rehabilitation therapy. The participants in both the groups received therapy five days per week for six weeks. The Importance of Education in The Republic by Plato The great philosopher Plato, speaking through the character of Socrates in his book The Republic, holds the belief that true and good education is what leads civilizations to prosper. Due to this, he is very concerned with the issue of education and how it will be addressed in the state that he and his fellow companions hope to design and build. He talks about how important education is in achieving this idea of justice and morality. Furthermore, I believe that many of the concepts he brings about relating to this subject are still very valid today and can be applied worldwide. Platobelieves that education is necessary for the rulers of cities to be effective and that it is the only way to truly understand and achieve the goal of providing and looking out for the citizens of any state. One of the reasons Plato finds education such a necessity and regards it so highly is that it is required to even understand the concept of true justice and being able to distinguish it from injustice. Now although the major point of this book is to establish a meaning for justice, he believes that education is key and it is clear that all the people he associates with in the story are well educated high members of society. Having knowledge on this subject and many others will allow those that eventually become guardians to tell when something is not just or is at least not beneficial for the well being of the citizens. Education is also a major factor in understanding the souland the

The answer to the meaning of these material objects would be curtains, tall and wide mountains like the Appalachians, and trains. These may just be material objects, but the allegory, or symbolism, is alive and useful in both history and present day. Hills Like White Elephants , A Rose For Emily , and Where Are You Going, Where have you been? are all fictional short stories, with numerous amounts of allegory, or symbolism, to be analyzed by the use of quotes from each story, and all with both a short term symbolic meaning and a long term overall theme. I was intrigued by all of the symbolism in Hills Like White Elephants . At first, I did not realize the symbolic meaning of these material objects, but did further research to find out. The beaded curtain doesn t have the best meaning today, but along with the train track and the hills they all mean the same thing. Jig (a dance, and also a black person), the beaded curtain, the tracks, the hills, could all mean BOUNDARIES. Ernest Hemingway writes, Well, let s try and have a fine time. All right. I was trying. During the severe famine in Egypt, Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of storing up the wheat harvest in the plentiful years before the famine and distributing it once the food crisis arrived. When the starving people cried for provisions, Pharaoh told them, Go to Joseph; what he says to you, do (Gen. 41:55) an expression almost identical to what Mary would later say at Cana. This Biblical connection between doing whatever Joseph says and doing whatever Jesus says is quite significant, for there are several parallels between Joseph and Jesus in these two scenes. When comparing rail to tucking it is important to keep some things in mind. In the early days, the choice of rail vs truck was easy because by the time that transportation by tuck came about rail transportation had been around for a long time. In addition, the adoption of motor cars also proved to be more gradual than that of passenger trains, the result of primitive technologies, high costs, and poor roads (GRANT, 2012, p. 248). This further added to the dominance of rail. In defense of trucking it can hall large amounts of cargo over long distances. In addition, it can do so with a reasonably high degree of responsiveness. Trucking is more suited to haling more expensive goods that require higher responsiveness. However, in other parts of the world where the rail infrastructure is more developed or more suitable for transporting cargo this may not be an option. Perhaps the best use of both rail and truck is in combination through intermodal transportation. This method makes use of one or more transportation methods in order to achieve to achieve the best mix of
