A Brief Note On The Gas Mixture Of Hydrogen And Carbon...
1.2.3 Gasification and Syngas Syngas is a gas mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which
are products from gasfireing any hydrocarbon material such as coal at a high pressure and
temperature, 30 bar and 1500 В°K. The present of the oxygen is the primary difference between
gasification and combustion. When a feed gasfire, the oxygen or air is injected in small amount
allowing part of the feed to burn completely which supply the required heat and pressure, then, the
heat will break down the feed into synthesis gas (Higman Burgt, 2003). This process consists of six

The Black Panther Party By Jessica C. Harris
This article takes an inside and out investigation of The Black Panther Party as a particular
illustration for progressive patriotism and breaks down altogether the positive commitments they
made and in addition the negative parts of the gathering. Jessica C. Harris, who was fixated on
the historical backdrop of the organization, did research and composed the paper. This exhert
(pages from 409 421) is from The Journal of Negro History, Volume 86, No. 3. (Summer, 2001).
The entire paper epitomizes the writer s wide extension, impeccable written work abilities and clear
rationale in breaking down a questionable point.
Black Nationalism is a belief system that goes for freeing African americans from mistreatment and
setting up self determination for the black comunity. Harris touches on Classical Black Nationalism
and Contemporary Black Nationalism. Traditional Black Nationalism is essentially as slave
rebellions. Be that as it may, Contemporary Black Nationalism can be partitioned into four sections:
instructive, religious, social and also progressive patriotism. The Black Panther Party, a standout
amongst the most well known progressive patriot associations, held the conviction that the
administration around then should have been be changed to meet the requests for the black
community. Under the comprehension of a communist point of view , two youthful black activists,
Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newtonestablished the Black Panther Party in a general sense for

Summary Of Rhetorical Strategies
Many authors have found that persuading an audience is sometimes the easiest way to grasp the
attention of many and do so by using logos, pathos and ethos techniques. Sometimes misleading
and based around personal opinions, understanding the initial reasons for using these strategies can
explain why they are used. Based on my research these rhetorical strategies can be found
throughout all three videos provided. The first two videos titled Drunk History Claudette Colvin
and Rosa Parks and Drunk History John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson showed the least amount of
these strategies, while the last video Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere
provides the best demonstration of the use of rhetoric.
In the first video Drunk History

The Franco-Prussian War
The Franco Prussian War is a suitable war for Crisis because it was a military disaster that could
have easily been avoided, created the French Third Republic, and changed the course of European
history. The astounding victory of the North German Federation, led by Prussia, convinced the
southern German states to leave the French sphere of influence and join the German Federation,
completing German unification. In fact, King Wilhelm I of Prussiawas crowned the Emperor of
Germanyat the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles when the Prussian troops were besieging Paris.
However, none of this would have happened if the French did not blunder at the Battles of Metz
and Sedan. For example, the French surrendered at Sedan because they were outmaneuvered

When coming of age, young adults will initiate to do things they want to do or get pressured in
doing things they don t want to do . Young adults can also be forced or be influenced to join the
adult world too early. For example, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, skipping class or school,
smoking, cussing and much more. Even so, the littlest choices can affect the rest of their lives on
how they live. Another example is having more ability to do things when going further in
becoming a teen. Like as a child, they are being told what to do and what not to do. When growing
older, an adult will be more independent to choose their path to a successful future or a miserable
future. Another example choices are part of coming in age is making a commitment. When wanting
to be successful, people volunteer to make choices that can benefit their academics and make a
commitment for it.
Lastly, being responsible. When coming of age, young adults will get into the process where they
are more independent with themselves. When being responsible, Young adults tend to be more
cautious to take care of things around them and themselves. Also, when young adults hit at the
legal age, young adults will have the opportunity to get their own driver s licenses. At this rate,
young adults can take themselves to school or to any errand. Now, since they have a driver s

of osteoarthritis of the knee. The participants were randomly selected to one of the three groups:
conservative therapy, traditional Chinese acupuncture, or sham acupuncture. Each group received

`` Stolen Legacy, By George James, A Guyanese Historian...
Throughout time, there have been deep misconceptions on who the fathers of philosophy and
greatest contributors to civilization. In the 1954 book, Stolen Legacy, George James, a Guyanese
historian and author, argued that the highly acclaimed Greek philosophy actually originated in
ancient Egypt. James arguments on Ancient Egyptbeing the basis of Greek philosophy will be
discussed as it relates to the goals of Egyptian theory of salvation and Egyptian Mystery system.
The Stolen Legacy begins with uncovering how the Egyptian s held a Mystery System, which was
the oldest in the world considered a Secret Order that required membership and pledged secrecy.
Thus the Egyptians developed secret systems of writing and teaching that if forbade others from
imitating their work. It was not until the Greeks were allowed into the temples that the invasion of
Alexander the Destructor plundered the temples and libraries and allowed the Greeks to gain
access to the ancient books. James further explains that this is where Aristotle built his school of
thought and legacy. In essence, this explanation is the basis of James view.
The education of Egyptian priests and the legacy of the Mystery System show that Egypt was the
source of higher education in the ancient world, futhermore, key Ionian and Italian philosophers
such as Pythagoras, Thales, Democritus had obtained their education from Egyptian priests despite
their acclaim as being the greatest philosophers to date. The teachings of

Greek Knowledge Between Adam And Eve
Adam and Eve, however, possess a greater disadvantage in that they do not have the knowledge
required to simply identify Satan. As stated earlier, the wise angels were not able to discover the
true identity of Satan. Eve is, therefore, destined to do the same. Although the narrator of the poem
and God never discuss the true nature of Eve, Adam perceives her as a beautiful but inferior in the
mind/and inward faculties (Paradise Lost, 7.541 542). Regardless of her true nature, it is clear that
both Adam and Evedo not possess the equivalent amount of knowledge as the angels. After Raphael

The conversation led the two to have thoughts that they would never have had otherwise. But,
interestingly, Adam and Eve gain more than just new thoughts, they also gain Muse. Muse goes a
step beyond simple thoughts, suggesting profound meditation (OED). In other words, they
become entranced by the new knowledge that they received; knowledge that was not available to
them beforehand. Yet, the word Muse has another meaning that further complicates the
impression of ignorance for Eve. A muse is also each of the nine goddesses regarded as presiding
over and inspiring learning (OED). Firstly, by referring to goddesses the term introduces a
feminine connotation. This term, therefore, relates more to Eve than it does to Adam, regardless
of the fact that both are present when Raphael delivers his message. According to the meaning of
this term, Eve not only learns, but she instigates learning. She not only seeks knowledge, but she
also advocates gaining it. Eve is, therefore, not ignorant nor does she seek ignorance. Instead, she
is left dumbfounded by the knowledge she receives and she desires to seek

KGB to Prime Minister to President
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was one of the KGB s (Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti, or
in English, Committee for State Security) greatest spies. Actually Vladimir Putin s KGB career
was, at best, mediocre to terrible according to the KGB. Nothing in his background suggests his
bad record. It could just happen to be that his assignments failed due strictly to random chance, then
again, this is the KGB; are they hiding something about their current president? Maybe what they
are hiding is that he was one of their greatest spies.
Putin was born on October 27, 1952 in Leningrad to a working class family. When he was 23 years
old Putin graduated Leningrad State University with a law degree; he also has a doctorate in
economics from the St. Petersburg Mining Institute, but it is unknown when he earned this
distinction. In 1975 he was recruited by the KGB through unknown means. ( Vladimir Putin | The
Moscow Times. ).
Putin s first and only deployment was to Dresden, East Germany; at the time Dresden was as
backwater as possible for the KGB. While in Dresden, his official job was to attempt to recruit
western businessmen, visitors, and students at Dresden University to become informants for the
KGB. He also worked with a German STASI, East Germany s version of the KGB, officer,
Rainer M, who helped him to recruit Latin American students. Rainer M and Putin were so close

customer acquisition costs, companies are better of focusing attention on their more loyal

The Matter Of Whiteness By Richard Dyer Essay
Epiphany Samuels

#1
The last line in the introductory chapter of The Matter of Whiteness written by Richard Dyer states
Thus it is that the paradoxes and instabilities of whiteness also constitute its flexibility and
productivity, in short, its representational power boils down to the unusual nature (some
contradictory) that makes white people who they are and what they do allows. This unusualness
allows for white people to be free (of labels, of master etc.) and thus maintain power. A quote my

Paternalism And Boxing Essay
The violent sport of boxing has been commonly seen as immoral due to its violent nature. Many
studies have looked into the physical impacts of participating in boxing and have found that the
risks may not be worth the reward, but when compared to other sports, boxing is relatively similar
in violent nature. Between 1945 and 1981, 339 individuals died while partaking in the sport of
boxing(Cohen, 1984). When looking at boxers head scans, 41% of athletes had anomalies in the
brain, where in other sports, only 14% of athletes had brain anomalies (Cohen, 1984). Boxers all
scored lower in intelligence tests compared to other athletes (Cohen, 1984). The main question
being extrapolated from this evidence, is how can society continue to allow... Show more content on

This concept is commonly introduced to sport because many times boxers do not have the mental
capacity, age, or competence to consent to boxing, therefore many believe that a paternalistic
figure needs to assist with decision making. One would believe, in this case that the law should
interfere for the good of the persons involved, in a way that it acts to ensure that there are health
warnings on cigarette packages (Davis, 1993, p.49). To further discuss this notion, discourses
surrounding paternalism need to be examined in consideration to boxing. Paternalism is defined as
the interference of liberty for what is believed to be for the own good of the individual. This
interventionism looks out for the safety of both boxers and the community and therefore looks out
for the better good of the community as a communitivistic approach. An athletes community,
meaning the people who surround the sport of boxing, can takeover in cases where it feels like
everyone is being harmed in some sense of the word. The reason why communities believe that
boxing is worse off than other violent sports is because of its inherently violent nature. Sports such
as football, and hockey do not base their fundamental sporting rules around violence. As boxing is a
largely viewed sport, this inherent violence can be familiarized with the audience as an act that is
okay and acceptable, illustrating that children and adults will walk out of the match thinking that
violence is morally justified. As boxing is so adamantly available to the public, on television and in
the ring; it can prescribe an attitude of unsafe behavior and growing norms surrounding the
acceptance of violence in general, not pertaining to sport. This point proves that individuals are
very intertwined with community and traditional ways that free

Dances With Wolves Analysis
I thought the movie Dances with Wolves was a good film. I think that this was a good film since it
had a good storyline. In addition, I had thought the movies was also very interesting. I thought it
was interesting as it showed me the communication barrier between Dunbar and the Indians, the
Indians lack of knowledge on weaponry, and the perception of Indians. I also thought it was a good
film, since I had also learned a few things from it. One of those things being the perception of
Indians.
The movie gave me an insight on the relationship between the US and Indian relationships as it
seems as the USA did not like the Indians. It shows this with the perception of the Indians from the

I feel that this movie would be a historical fiction since the film does have some historical facts and
meaning. Some parts of the movie that show historical facts would be the perception of the Indians,
the few battles, and the customs of the Indians. These things cannot fictionalized, and would require
some research.
The treatment of the native people west of the Mississippi river in the time period following the
civil war was poor. The white people wanted the Indians to be exterminated. An example of this
happened in Colorado, when some Indian chiefs had sought peace and negotiation. In this
negotiation, they had army protection, however, they were killed in their sleep. The Indians
were also treated poorly as they suffered from the white Americans racism, their belief that they
owned all the land, and paternalism. The forces at work on both of these sides were the people
that had strong beliefs and were not going to stand for anything but their beliefs. The Indians
were on the west side of the Mississippi river, and they did not want to leave their land. The white
people were on the other side of the Mississippi river and had their belief that they owned all the
land. With these two groups of people with different beliefs, this had lead to incompatible

The Pardoner from Chaucer s Canterbury Tales Essay
The Pardoner from Chaucer s Canterbury Tales
In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, The Pardoner tells a story in the form of a sermon, an exemplum,
to be exact. He intends to teach the congregation that love of money is the root of all evil and that
consequences of sin is death. The symbolic function of The Old Man is debatable; is he, for
instance Death s messenger , Death himself, or a satanic figure who tempts, much in the fashion
of the Devil as serpent in the Adam and Ever story. The story is made even more complex and
ironic by the disreputable character of the Pardoner as narrator. He is an immoral man who tells a

Death under a large oak tree. The men hurry to the spot and instead find eight bushels of gold,
and decide to keep the gold. The reader is supposed to see that the money is death, and is lying at
the root of the tree, which is where we begin to form the theme, money is the root of all evil.
However, the drunken rioters do not see through this and they grow greedy and kill themselves
through trickery. They begin celebrating their fortune with bread and wine, however shortly after;
the first two rioters and the youngest rioter begin to display devilish thoughts to gain more of the
money. However the older two rioters kill the youngest because they want more money. Their
journey ends when the older two rioters decide to kill the younger rioter because they want more
money, however the younger rioter had already poisoned their wine to attempt to gain all the
money. The older two rioters drink the wine and die. Thus completing the theme, money is the root
of all evil.
After completing the tale, the reader is lead to believe that the Old
Man is none other than Death himself. The man is described as wearing a robe that covers his
entire body; much like a Grim Reaper would wear. After he is treated so badly by these men, he
just happens to lead them into a death trap, which he knows will cost nothing but problems. It is

Gay Marriage Rights
Children don t choose their parents when they are born and for those who are adopted they often
don t have a choice at such a young age who their parents are either. These children can only hope
for loving parents no matter what race, sexuality or marital status. With knowing this, LGBT
couples rights when adopting children are still questioned. Even though abuse and divorce, which
can negatively affect a child s mental state, are possibilities in any relationship no matter what
sexuality. For most cases adopted children live happy lives and having gay parents is normal to
them. Still, the rights of LGBT couples being able to adopt children has been debated recently
with some saying these couples should not be allowed to adopt at all, and others saying that LGBT
couples should have the same rights as straight couples when adopting children. A third side to this
debate is that too many children are in foster careand it should be encouraged for every couple to
adopt a child if they can. For the stance that LGBT couples should not be allowed to adopt, nature
and religion and the main arguments. Allowing gay couples the right to adopt children could
offend those who believe that homosexualityis a sin. Many religions believe that being gay is not
correct and is punished in the afterlife. With this viewpoint of the LGBT community it is feared
that gay parents will influence their children to also be gay leading to more sinners in the world.

Reclaiming Pietism Roger Olson Summary
Reclaiming Pietism by Roger Olson and Christian Winn explains the many and sometimes widely
varying views of Pietism that swirl around the term in contemporary culture including Christian
culture. Olson grew up in pentecostal home and church, though attending a seminary founded by
German Pietists instilled in him a warm hearted evangelicalism that replaced the emotional
Pentecostalism in his youth. Later through life, Olson taught at a Christian college founded by
Swedish Pietists and discovered a spiritual ethos. Winn, on the other hand came to know Pietism
later in life though Ph. D work under theologian and historian Donald Daton at Drew University.
Exposure to the primary texts of the pietist tradition dispelled negative caricatures of Pietism that
harbored within him and opened up a whole new way of seeing and understanding evangelicalism
in North America. With Olson and Winn s desire to share the truth about Pietism, they decided to

All Halloween Research Paper
Three weeks after our arrival in California, a group of children knocked at our front door at
twilight, dressed in strange costumes. When Aunt Lis opened the door, they chimed Trick or
treat! and she gave them each a handful of candy. Just as the group cheered in appreciation while
they left our house, another group of kids showed up for a repeat of the same. What in the world
was going on? we asked. Noke and Lis quickly explained that it was Halloween; an annual
tradition celebrated on October 31. The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows Eve and
trick or treating, is an activity for children who proceed from house to house, dressed in
costumes, asking for a treat with the question, Trick or treat? The trick is a lighthearted threat to
play a prank on the homeowner or his property if no treat; usually in the form of candy, is given.
Trick or treating is one of the main traditions of Halloween and the beginning of the Holiday
Season. Ellen and I were fascinated and eager to join the festivities, consequently, Aunt Lis
loaned me a blue and white Japanese Kimono and a pair of house slippers while Ellen dressed in
Oma s housecoat and shoes. Chaperoned by our mom and Aunt Lis, we carried an empty white
pillowcase to hold all the candy we anticipated collecting and off we went to the neighbors homes
for our first trick or treating experience. After only an hour s effort, we returned with our
pillowcases nearly full of candy, including a few oranges, apples and coins. What an amusing

Epistemic Reasoning In Blaise Collins The Wager
The undermining of pascal s wager by the fine tuning data
In the year 1654 at age 31, Blaise Pascal, the renowned mathematician physicist had religious
experience that caused him to reorient his life towards writing a defense for the Christian faith.
One of his most famous works was on the subject is The Wager , which argues, through cost benefit
Analysis, that individuals should take steps to believe in God. This entire argument hinges on the
premise that epistemic reasoning is incapable of proving, with any real certainty, the existence of
God; therefore, individuals must base their decision to believe, or not believe, on prudential
reasoning. Beginning at the end of the twentieth century and continuing to the present day, scientist

However, The premise that epistemic reasoning is incapable of educating our decision in believing
in God is a bold claim, on that is disproved by the Fine Tuning Data argument of Collins. Collins
argument sats that the precise balance of the structural settings of the universe that need to be given
in order to permit life, in any form, is more probable given the Theistic Hypothesis that God (God
being an ethereal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, omnipresent mind, not necessarily the
traditional God of Christianity that Pascal is talking about) caused the fine tuning than the Atheistic
Hypothesis that the universe and its fine tuning are simply brute facts. The Principle of
Confirmation therefore lends the Fine Tuning Data as evidence for the Theistic Hypothesis over the
Atheistic Hypothesis. The objection that there are possible tuning values outside the illuminated
range that could be conducive to life falls flat do to the Principle of Indifference (also called the
Principle of Insufficient Reason), which says that since we do not know how the non illuminated
range can come about, then the Fine Tuning Data is still equally improbable inside the illuminated
range. The Atheistic Many Universe objection also comes up short because: there is no evidence
that other universes than ours exist: without a nonrepeating function to the Universe Generator, the
probability of achieving the Fine Tuned Data does not increase, let alone approach one, like the
objection intends; and even if there were a Universe Generator cranking out universes with a
nonrepeating function, that is still more

Father In Sticks
The father in Sticks seemed like a tough love kind of father. Often at times, possibly too tough.
Personally, I grew up with a very relaxed father that had very few rules. As long as I was home
by curfew, did my own laundry, did the dishes three times a week after supper and kept my room
clean, he was content and happy. I was only grounded one time in my childhood by him and he
spanked me one time when I was a small child. I always felt he was someone I could run to when
I needed it and I feel that a lot of his parenting traits are now my parenting traits. I feel I am
friendly but firm. However, my father in law is a lot like the father in this short story. Very stict

In What Ways Do Family Members Or Friends Try To Persuade

Today I am writing essay over our Unit 4 Rhetorical Analyses class discussion. The topic was,
How do family members or friends try to persuade you? In what ways do your friends or family
members persuasive strategies differ from the ways advertisers try to persuade people? There are
numerous ways to try to persuade someone, but for me, my family, and friends they try to
persuade me through the use of pathos and ethos. Advertisers typically use techniques like scare

This Is A Passive Vitalism Because It Accounts For The
This is a passive vitalism because it accounts for the distinct as well as for the continuum but
without imposing any external point of view on the becoming of matter. What is really at issue is
the problem resolved, in the reality of its solution. It is not the ideal, but the reality of this ideal that
is in question (Souriau, 2015, p. 208). Passive vitalism in Souriau terms thus expresses in existence
without defining what is given in potential (virtual materiality) and what can become actual
(concrete materiality). What is defended is an existential pluralism (such as that of William James,
A.N. Whitehead and Gilles Deleuze); existences are intensive, allophonic and polyphonic, where

What is being contested in the new posthuman turns to matter cited earlier is the Kantian idea that
there is a mute, inert and meaningless life upon which a human subject imposes his self originating
thought (systematizing and categorising). For education researchers, such as Snaza and Weaver,
agency is given to matter and a student is no longer a unique entity standing apart, but is now no
more than just one among the many different and mutually entangled unique organisms and things.
There are experiences happening all the time, all over the school, independent of humans. There are
always interactions between humans and nonhuman sentient beings and humans and non sentient
objects, such as computers, doors, playgrounds, hallways, utensils, trays, balls, windows, desks,
and so on (Snaza Weaver, 2014, p. 9).
The mutual co constitution of the organic and inorganic forms takes precedence while maintaining
an active and vital self constituting and self maintaining individual organism.
What such accounts of the mutually constitutive agential relationality between subjects and objects
stress is that there is a world of ontic beings (inorganic, organic, inhuman, ahuman, nonhuman) that
ought not be ontologically hierarchized. Further and by implication, they pertain to the question of
how to reconfigure (in connection with its vital milieu) that which we assume is the essential
nature of a child as a unified entity (an assumption often made in educational theory but

Importance Of Biblical Worldview
Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human
beings because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as
(Wolters, 76). As Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical
worldview, it is critical for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure
and direction are the main biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector
of their lives.
I.Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines
structure as the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does
not change despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand
structure since it is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as
an anchor that provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in
government defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run
like a government, not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not
only does it set a limit for creations, but it also sets a limit on the enemy and prevents its dominion
and bondage. Structure helps us to think about the questions in this world in a different
perspective. It enables us to think in a Godly, scriptural perspective, which will serve as a guideline
for us to

Numbers 1 2 Winter/Spring 2010/11. Barry Mills, the president of Bowdoin College, in his
assembly address raised an imperative worry, he said, various parents are unwilling to send their
kids to Bowdoin or to its sister schools in light of the fact that they are seen to be excessively
liberal, and too withdrawn with standard America. To do this he recounted a golf anecdote about

In general, he took Mill s golf story to be a withdrawal of his expressed longing to expand the

manner all through his location: first saying that the absence of assorted qualities of perspectives on
grounds is an issue, then actually presuming that it wasn t generally an issue all things considered.
The author points out that Mill s admits that Bowdoin is a liberal school, and that they need more
diversity however the author does not think Mills has an answer to the problem pointing out more
contradictions that Mr. Mills makes. The author then empowers Mills and the Bowdoin family to
consider important their objective of expanding the assorted qualities of perspectives on grounds.
The writer s fundamental purpose of this article was that Mills doesn t have the response to the
absence of scholarly assorted qualities at Bowdoin. The writer contended that there was insufficient
celebration of our regular American personality. He contended against ideological consistency, on
the grounds that it deprived students of the intellectual diversity for the advancement of critical

Smallpox Discrimination
Diseases never discriminate. Nearly every problem availing mankind concerns a specific social
class, a specific religious sect, or a specific economic bracket. But diseases never discriminate.
Diseases are unique in the sense that they can bring the richest, most powerful men to their knees.

famously suffered from poliomyelitis (more commonly known as polio ) while in office,[1] and
technological billionaire Steve Jobs tragically lost a seven year battle with a rare form of

The condenser also functions to maintain the temperature throughout the heating process and
thereby maximizing the accuracy of the experimental results. The addition of boiling chips in the
heating process to dissolve the diphenyl serves to minimize the possibility of the occurrence of
bumping, i.e. sudden explosive boiling whereby large bubbles erupt from the heated solution.
Instead, a steady stream of small air bubbles is produced with the addition of the chips.
Subsequently after complete dissolving of the crude diphenyl, an additional 15 mL of ethanol is
added to ensure that all the crude diphenyl is dissolved. A small amount of decolourising charcoal
is added to the solution mixture. The decolourising charcoal serves to remove any impurities in
the mixture, by adsorbing substances responsible for colouration of the solution on its surface via
its activated properties. A small amount is used as the desired product may be adsorbed as well if
a large amount is used instead.
The mixture is filtered via a preheated stemless glass funnel immediately after boiling for 10 15
minutes. This is to prevent any early crystallization of the mixture since its crystallization
temperature is quite low. The use of preheated apparatus for filtration is also to minimize premature
crystallization of the mixture. Filtration of the mixture while it is still hot is to

Criminal Justice Court Observation
I observed court operations at the Plantation Key Government Center in Tavernier, Florida twice:
on October 7th and November 4th. I observed Chief Circuit Judge Carlos Garcia in courtroom A.
The courthouse is located in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida and it s a state trial court with
general jurisdiction. The first visit was cut short, in part because it was a lighter criminal day
than planned, but also I was flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism that was present in the
Florida Keys courtroom. I m not sure if it s a court in Paradise problem, or something that is
observed at other courtrooms, however, I m disappointed in what I saw. Lack of professionalism
was evident during both visits from the actors and their actions. On... Show more content on

They seemed laid back and like they were conversing amongst friends. I m not requesting duels
between the state and defense attorneys, but don t let the defense attorneys waste your time. It
was clear that the State was fairly prepared, at least enough to move on from preliminary
hearings into discovery, yet the state would grant continuances to February of 2015. I think it s
great that it s not a hyper competitive environment, but business still needs to get done. I believe
to a certain extent, they did defend their clients, I feel more zest could have been used, but my
standard might be unrealistically high. Judge Garcia came into court, well prepared, he knew
the cases better than the attorneys, and he was active. He had a very expressive face, and it was
clear from his body language, at times he felt frustrated or disinterested. I feel it was more from,
being a former Assistant State Attorney and the state not necessarily posing the best offense. I
feel that many of the issues could have moved on to the next step in the criminal process. For the
cases that were resolved there on the spot, Mr. Edwards was happy with his outcome Ms. Denum
was upset, but not necessarily because of the outcome. During the first visit, we were still early
into the class readings and I had a difficult time understanding what was occurring. By the second
visit, I was able to understand more of what was going on. The courtroom observation was

Workmanship Warranty
What Does The Workmanship Warranty Mean? Replacing your roof is an expensive venture.
Several parties are involved in roof replacement: manufacturers, roofing contractors and dumpsters,
among others. The different parties offer warranties. Do you understand what that means? Let us
focus on the workmanship warranty. The workmanship warranty backs up your roofing contractor s
work. This warranty, together with the manufacturer s warranty, provides your roof with coverage
if improper installation causes any damage or defects. The workmanship warranty is a standard
industry practice, although that was not always the case. Caveats... Show more content on

Experience, therefore, becomes a crucial factor when choosing roofing companies. The warranty
is only valid for as long as the contractor who issued it retains sole control over their service roof
repair, replacement, or installation. The roofing contractor that you choose to install a new roof
on your property should be competent and reputable. He should be able to complete the work in a
professional and timely manner. If you, the homeowner, and the roofing contractor had agreed on
details like installation, timelines, and had them written down, it is possible to predict the
outcome in the event of a dispute. You need to have all the details concerning the services to be
performed by the contractor and what you expect written down in a clear, precise way. Do not

People from different regions and countries may hold different religions. In some countries,
some religions are mostly held by certain races. Most of people have religion when these is a

religion. Meanwhile, religion is their spiritual sustenance. To them, their religions are together
with them as a part of the body. Therefore, any criticism to religion is a threat to certain races.
They will be very supportive and oppose those who cross them. Normally, people won t criticise

by people who held other religions. If the religion is mostly held by certain race, they tend to have a

Mix science fiction with reality, then add some emotions. Congratulation! You obtain Flower

Celie And Shug Relationship
The relationship between Celie and Shug is not a good one at first, but then through out the
movie, The Color Purple, their relationship grows into a friendship, then a sisterhood. In the
beginning of the movie, when Mr. is going to town often, it is obvious it is to go see a woman
because of his excitement, then the audience finds out who the woman is when Celie notices the
flyer for Shug Avery s performance on the mirror of the dresser. When the audience first meets
Shug Avery, it is when Mr. brings her home in the back of the wagon and has Harpo carry her
inside. The first impression of Shug is not a good one because of her attitude. When Shug first
sees Celie, she called her ugly and laughed in her face. Then Shug told Mr. to have that... Show

I think that it broke Albert s heart that Shug had married someone other than himself, because he
had wanted to when she didn t and marries Celie before Shug decided she wanted to marry. I
think it also hurt Celie that Shug had gotten married, because it made Celie doubt that Shug still
loved her. But while Shug and Germaine were staying with Albert and Celie, Germaine and
Albert grew a sort of friendship, allowing Shug and Celie time to their own friendship. During
their visit, Shug takes the mail from mail box and finds a letter for Celie from Nettie. Once
Celie reads the letter Shug lets her know that her family still loves her even though she s trapped
in Albert s world. Shug helps Celie find the rest of Nettie s letters so that she can learn about
what her sister has been doing and how her children are. When Celie is about to shave Albert,
like earlier in the movie, she plans to cut his throat and kill him, but Shug runs back to the house
and is able to stop her just in time. When Shug realizes that Celie would have killed Albert if she
hadn t have stopped her, she realizes how much Celie hates being where she is and how much she
hates Mr. Shug helped Celie find a missing part of her heart, and let her know that she is loved,

The Workforce Is Growing Older As The Population Ages
The workforce is growing older as the population ages. The elderly in this generation are living
significantly longer. The amount of older workers is increasing due to the baby boomer
generation. The number of older workers over 55 is projected to grow at nearly four times the
rate of the overall labor force (Shultz, pg.7) Many older workers are choosing to stay in the
workforce. An increasing amount of older workers are choosing to prolong retirement. Population
agingwill significantly increase the amount of older workers. Between 1977 and 2007,
employment of workers 65 and over increased 101 percent, compared to a much smaller increase
of 59 percent for total employment (16 and over). The number of employed men 65 and over rose 75

The number of workers between the ages of 65 and 74 and those aged 75 and up are predicted to
soar by more than 80 percent. By 2016, workers age 65 and over are expected to account for 6.1
percent of the total labor force, up sharply from their 2006 share of 3.6 percent (U.S Bureau of
Labor Statistics, 2008). The majority of older adults remain in the workforce due to the economic
downturn and not being able to afford retirement. Older adults continue to work in order to gain
financial stability. Many workers age 65 and older are unprepared for retirement.
Older workers are working longer due to the decrease in financial assets, low interest rates, shift
to 401(k) s, higher social security retirement age, and longevity. There has been a significant
decrease in the value of retirement assets. With the shift away from defined benefit and towards
defined contribution pensions like 401(k)s, changes in financial markets have a more direct
effect on many workers retirement savings (Orszag, 2009). Financial assets have lost value
because of the financial crisis. Many older adults lost a large amount of their financial assets
because they withdrew funds from their financial accounts in order to survive the financial crisis.
Some 62 percent of people between ages 45 and 60 experienced at least a 20 percent decline in
the value of their financial assets since the beginning of the crisis, compared with only 42 percent
in 2010, according to the Conference Board

Analysis Of Radha Krishna s Lovers Under A Futon By...
Romantic love remains one of the most importance themes in virtually all cultures art; in Japanese
and Indian art, although with different historical contexts and therefore interpretations, continues to
be no exception. Kitigawa Utamaro prevailed as one of the most important artists under the ukiyo e
genres, focusing on the beauty of women in the hedonistic and rigidly organized Tokugawa period
as it enjoyed stability the island yearned for. Of an unknown artist of the Rajasthani school in
neighboring Madhya Pradesh, foreign powers from the Mughal Empire to the Portuguese slowly
encroached in India, yet managed to maintain its traditions in Radha Krishnain its epic romance in
Jayadeva s Gita Govinda. In Utamaro s Lovers under a Futon ... Show more content on

The print portrays a man and a woman under a futon, assumedly intimately. The soft colors of
pink and green of their clothes and of the mattress on them further affirm the softness of the piece;
they are lovers. Although the man s attire contrasts with that of the woman, it is difficult to
discern where their bodies apart. Just like how the futon is both green and pink like the man and
woman s robes respectively, the piece is supposed to indicate a romantic union between the two.
The patterns on the futon and robe help add dimension to the print, which would later be reprinted
for the consumption of the merchant class in the Tokugawa period. It is particularly important to
note how Utamaro portrays the woman; women by Utamaro not only had an idealized form with
slender features, but she barely resembles the common woman of the period with her impossible
proportions. In direct contrast with the realism movement and their aspiration in portraying people
the way they truly are, Utamaro s depiction of women and romance are dreamily hedonistic just
like many Vogue editorials. Lovers under a Futon is truly romantic, with a sense of equality
between the two people; she is not there to serve him or vice versa. Instead, the couple is both

Bioengineering In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
As some of you already know, bioengineering is a way of using artificial tissues, organs, and
other components to replace those that are badly damaged or missing body parts. You could even
use it to replace limbs, such as arms and legs. The way they get these body parts is by genetically
engineering them to reproduce skin/bone cells into the tissues that later form the parts needed after
a matter of time. Now...*deeply concerned inhale*.....the monster that Victor Frankenstein has
created is far beyond the concept of bioengineering. What I mean by beyond is not the term of
revolutionary, it s just flat out twisted. Frankenstein has scrapped several limbs and organs from
morgues, slaughterhouses, and graves in order to achieve his goal. He wasn t... Show more content

Now...*inhales deeply in concern once again*...the average near dead person on bypass needs
about 100 watts from a defibrillator in order to get the heart beating. Due to the absence of
electricity in Frankenstein s time period, he has to rely on the power of harnessing a lightning
bolt in a thunderstorm (which is what he has wanted to do his whole life). Sounds awesome,
right? There s only one problem. A single bolt of lightning contains TEN BILLION watts of
electricity. It s enough to power a small city or shut down the power depending on distribution.
However, this would be complete overkill if it struck a human directly. It would take a miracle for
someone to survive something like that, and if they did, they d be paralyzed from bottom to top.
Which means, the metal conductors in the monster s brains would either be extremely fried or
blown off with bit of its

  • 2. A Brief Note On The Gas Mixture Of Hydrogen And Carbon... 1.2.3 Gasification and Syngas Syngas is a gas mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which are products from gasfireing any hydrocarbon material such as coal at a high pressure and temperature, 30 bar and 1500 В°K. The present of the oxygen is the primary difference between gasification and combustion. When a feed gasfire, the oxygen or air is injected in small amount allowing part of the feed to burn completely which supply the required heat and pressure, then, the heat will break down the feed into synthesis gas (Higman Burgt, 2003). This process consists of six main reactions: Table 1: Gasification main reactions Reaction ProcessChemical FormulaChange in Enthalpy Gasification with OxygenC + ВЅ O2 в†’ CO3,922 Btu/lb C Combustion with OxygenC + O2 в†’ CO214,111 Btu/lb C Gasification with Carbon DioxideC + CO2 в†’ 2 CO6,267 Btu/lb C Gasification with SteamC + H2O в†’ CO + H24,750 Btu/lb C Gasification with HydrogenC + 2 H2 в†’ CH42,672 Btu/lb C Water Gas ShiftCO + H2O в†’ CO2 + H2650 Btu/lb CO There are four basic configurations for the gasification. Jessica C. Harris, who was fixated on the historical backdrop of the organization, did research and composed the paper. This exhert (pages from 409 421) is from The Journal of Negro History, Volume 86, No. 3. (Summer, 2001). Based on my research these rhetorical strategies can be found throughout all three videos provided. The first two videos titled Drunk History Claudette Colvin and Rosa Parks and Drunk History John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson showed the least amount of these strategies, while the last video Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere provides the best demonstration of the use of rhetoric. In the 1954 book, Stolen Legacy, George James, a Guyanese historian and author, argued that the highly acclaimed Greek philosophy actually originated in ancient Egypt. James arguments on Ancient Egyptbeing the basis of Greek philosophy will be discussed as it relates to the goals of Egyptian theory of salvation and Egyptian Mystery system. The Stolen Legacy begins with uncovering how the Egyptian s held a Mystery System, which was the oldest in the world considered a Secret Order that required membership and pledged secrecy. Thus the Egyptians developed secret systems of writing and teaching that if forbade others from imitating their work. It was not until the Greeks were allowed into the temples that the invasion of Alexander the Destructor plundered the temples and libraries and allowed the Greeks to gain access to the ancient books. James further explains that this is where Aristotle built his school of thought and legacy. In essence, this explanation is the basis of James view. The education of Egyptian priests and the legacy of the Mystery System show that Egypt was the source of higher education in the ancient world, futhermore, key Ionian and Italian philosophers such as Pythagoras, Thales, Democritus had obtained their education from Egyptian priests despite their acclaim as being the greatest philosophers to date. As stated earlier, the wise angels were not able to discover the true identity of Satan. Eve is, therefore, destined to do the same. Although the narrator of the poem and God never discuss the true nature of Eve, Adam perceives her as a beautiful but inferior in the mind/and inward faculties (Paradise Lost, 7.541 542). Regardless of her true nature, it is clear that both Adam and Evedo not possess the equivalent amount of knowledge as the angels. After Raphael relates the story of Satans rebellion, Adam with his consorted Eve... was fill d/With...deep Muse to hear/Of things so high and strange, things to their thought/So unimaginable... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The conversation led the two to have thoughts that they would never have had otherwise. But, interestingly, Adam and Eve gain more than just new thoughts, they also gain Muse. Muse goes a step beyond simple thoughts, suggesting profound meditation (OED). In other words, they become entranced by the new knowledge that they received; knowledge that was not available to them beforehand. Yet, the word Muse has another meaning that further complicates the impression of ignorance for Eve. A muse is also each of the nine goddesses regarded as presiding over and inspiring learning (OED). Firstly, by referring to goddesses the term introduces a feminine connotation. This term, therefore, relates more to Eve than it does to Adam, regardless of the fact that both are present when Raphael delivers his message. According to the meaning of this term, Eve not only learns, but she instigates learning. She not only seeks knowledge, but she also advocates gaining it. Eve is, therefore, not ignorant nor does she seek ignorance. Instead, she is left dumbfounded by the knowledge she receives and she desires to seek ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Actually Vladimir Putin s KGB career was, at best, mediocre to terrible according to the KGB. Nothing in his background suggests his bad record. It could just happen to be that his assignments failed due strictly to random chance, then again, this is the KGB; are they hiding something about their current president? Maybe what they are hiding is that he was one of their greatest spies. Putin was born on October 27, 1952 in Leningrad to a working class family. When he was 23 years old Putin graduated Leningrad State University with a law degree; he also has a doctorate in economics from the St. Petersburg Mining Institute, but it is unknown when he earned this distinction. In 1975 he was recruited by the KGB through unknown means. ( Vladimir Putin | The Moscow Times. ). Putin s first and only deployment was to Dresden, East Germany; at the time Dresden was as backwater as possible for the KGB. While in Dresden, his official job was to attempt to recruit western businessmen, visitors, and students at Dresden University to become informants for the KGB. He also worked with a German STASI, East Germany s version of the KGB, officer, Rainer M, who helped him to recruit Latin American students. The Matter Of Whiteness By Richard Dyer Essay Epiphany Samuels Final #1 The last line in the introductory chapter of The Matter of Whiteness written by Richard Dyer states Thus it is that the paradoxes and instabilities of whiteness also constitute its flexibility and productivity, in short, its representational power boils down to the unusual nature (some contradictory) that makes white people who they are and what they do allows. This unusualness allows for white people to be free (of labels, of master etc.) and thus maintain power. A quote my argument enhances Switzerland north of Germany and Scotland (1987: 209). Such places had a number of virtues the clarity and cleanliness of the air the rigor demanded by the cold the Enterprise required by the harness of the terrain and climate the sublime Soul elevating beauty of mountain vistas even greater nearness to God above and the presence of the whitest thing on earth snow. All these virtues could be seen to have formed the white character its energy, enterprise, discipline and spiritual evolution and even the white body This quote creates the idea that being white is being made perfectly by God like a Snowy Mountain (21) even made perfectly in his image. These virtues that are being spoken about in the idea of a white character energy, enterprise, discipline, spiritual evolution these are words and phrases that coincide with godliness. I will use two as an example, number one, If is said that God made the word out of nothing in seven day which takes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Paternalism And Boxing Essay The violent sport of boxing has been commonly seen as immoral due to its violent nature. Many studies have looked into the physical impacts of participating in boxing and have found that the risks may not be worth the reward, but when compared to other sports, boxing is relatively similar in violent nature. Between 1945 and 1981, 339 individuals died while partaking in the sport of boxing(Cohen, 1984). When looking at boxers head scans, 41% of athletes had anomalies in the brain, where in other sports, only 14% of athletes had brain anomalies (Cohen, 1984). Boxers all scored lower in intelligence tests compared to other athletes (Cohen, 1984). The main question being extrapolated from this evidence, is how can society continue to allow... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This concept is commonly introduced to sport because many times boxers do not have the mental capacity, age, or competence to consent to boxing, therefore many believe that a paternalistic figure needs to assist with decision making. One would believe, in this case that the law should interfere for the good of the persons involved, in a way that it acts to ensure that there are health warnings on cigarette packages (Davis, 1993, p.49). To further discuss this notion, discourses surrounding paternalism need to be examined in consideration to boxing. Paternalism is defined as the interference of liberty for what is believed to be for the own good of the individual. This interventionism looks out for the safety of both boxers and the community and therefore looks out for the better good of the community as a communitivistic approach. An athletes community, meaning the people who surround the sport of boxing, can takeover in cases where it feels like everyone is being harmed in some sense of the word. The reason why communities believe that boxing is worse off than other violent sports is because of its inherently violent nature. Sports such as football, and hockey do not base their fundamental sporting rules around violence. As boxing is a largely viewed sport, this inherent violence can be familiarized with the audience as an act that is okay and acceptable, illustrating that children and adults will walk out of the match thinking that violence is morally justified. As boxing is so adamantly available to the public, on television and in the ring; it can prescribe an attitude of unsafe behavior and growing norms surrounding the acceptance of violence in general, not pertaining to sport. This point proves that individuals are very intertwined with community and traditional ways that free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition, I had thought the movies was also very interesting. I also thought it was a good film, since I had also learned a few things from it. One of those things being the perception of Indians. I feel that this movie would be a historical fiction since the film does have some historical facts and meaning. Some parts of the movie that show historical facts would be the perception of the Indians, the few battles, and the customs of the Indians. These things cannot fictionalized, and would require some research. The treatment of the native people west of the Mississippi river in the time period following the civil war was poor. The white people wanted the Indians to be exterminated. An example of this happened in Colorado, when some Indian chiefs had sought peace and negotiation. In this negotiation, they had army protection, however, they were killed in their sleep. The Indians were also treated poorly as they suffered from the white Americans racism, their belief that they owned all the land, and paternalism. The forces at work on both of these sides were the people that had strong beliefs and were not going to stand for anything but their beliefs. The Indians were on the west side of the Mississippi river, and they did not want to leave their land. The white people were on the other side of the Mississippi river and had their belief that they owned all the land. The Pardoner from Chaucer s Canterbury Tales Essay The Pardoner from Chaucer s Canterbury Tales In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, The Pardoner tells a story in the form of a sermon, an exemplum, to be exact. The symbolic function of The Old Man is debatable; is he, for instance Death s messenger , Death himself, or a satanic figure who tempts, much in the fashion of the Devil as serpent in the Adam and Ever story. However, the drunken rioters do not see through this and they grow greedy and kill themselves through trickery. They begin celebrating their fortune with bread and wine, however shortly after; the first two rioters and the youngest rioter begin to display devilish thoughts to gain more of the money. These children can only hope for loving parents no matter what race, sexuality or marital status. With knowing this, LGBT couples rights when adopting children are still questioned. Even though abuse and divorce, which can negatively affect a child s mental state, are possibilities in any relationship no matter what sexuality. For most cases adopted children live happy lives and having gay parents is normal to them. Still, the rights of LGBT couples being able to adopt children has been debated recently with some saying these couples should not be allowed to adopt at all, and others saying that LGBT couples should have the same rights as straight couples when adopting children. A third side to this debate is that too many children are in foster careand it should be encouraged for every couple to adopt a child if they can. For the stance that LGBT couples should not be allowed to adopt, nature and religion and the main arguments. Allowing gay couples the right to adopt children could offend those who believe that homosexualityis a sin. Many religions believe that being gay is not correct and is punished in the afterlife. • 24. All Halloween Research Paper Three weeks after our arrival in California, a group of children knocked at our front door at twilight, dressed in strange costumes. When Aunt Lis opened the door, they chimed Trick or treat! and she gave them each a handful of candy. Just as the group cheered in appreciation while they left our house, another group of kids showed up for a repeat of the same. What in the world was going on? we asked. Noke and Lis quickly explained that it was Halloween; an annual tradition celebrated on October 31. The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows Eve and trick or treating, is an activity for children who proceed from house to house, dressed in costumes, asking for a treat with the question, Trick or treat? The trick is a lighthearted threat to play a prank on the homeowner or his property if no treat; usually in the form of candy, is given. One of his most famous works was on the subject is The Wager , which argues, through cost benefit Analysis, that individuals should take steps to believe in God. The Principle of Confirmation therefore lends the Fine Tuning Data as evidence for the Theistic Hypothesis over the Atheistic Hypothesis. The objection that there are possible tuning values outside the illuminated range that could be conducive to life falls flat do to the Principle of Indifference (also called the Principle of Insufficient Reason), which says that since we do not know how the non illuminated range can come about, then the Fine Tuning Data is still equally improbable inside the illuminated range. The Atheistic Many Universe objection also comes up short because: there is no evidence that other universes than ours exist: without a nonrepeating function to the Universe Generator, the probability of achieving the Fine Tuned Data does not increase, let alone approach one, like the objection intends; and even if there were a Universe Generator cranking out universes with a nonrepeating function, that is still more ... Passive vitalism in Souriau terms thus expresses in existence without defining what is given in potential (virtual materiality) and what can become actual (concrete materiality). What is being contested in the new posthuman turns to matter cited earlier is the Kantian idea that there is a mute, inert and meaningless life upon which a human subject imposes his self originating thought (systematizing and categorising). For education researchers, such as Snaza and Weaver, agency is given to matter and a student is no longer a unique entity standing apart, but is now no more than just one among the many different and mutually entangled unique organisms and things. There are experiences happening all the time, all over the school, independent of humans. There are always interactions between humans and nonhuman sentient beings and humans and non sentient objects, such as computers, doors, playgrounds, hallways, utensils, trays, balls, windows, desks, and so on (Snaza Weaver, 2014, p. 9). The mutual co constitution of the organic and inorganic forms takes precedence while maintaining an active and vital self constituting and self maintaining individual organism. What such accounts of the mutually constitutive agential relationality between subjects and objects stress is that there is a world of ontic beings (inorganic, organic, inhuman, ahuman, nonhuman) that ought not be ontologically hierarchized. Importance Of Biblical Worldview Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human beings because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as (Wolters, 76). As Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical worldview, it is critical for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure and direction are the main biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector of their lives. I.Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines structure as the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does not change despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand structure since it is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as an anchor that provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in government defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run like a government, not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not only does it set a limit for creations, but it also sets a limit on the enemy and prevents its dominion and bondage. Structure helps us to think about the questions in this world in a different perspective. It enables us to think in a Godly, scriptural perspective, which will serve as a guideline for us to ... Barry Mills, the president of Bowdoin College, in his assembly address raised an imperative worry, he said, various parents are unwilling to send their kids to Bowdoin or to its sister schools in light of the fact that they are seen to be excessively liberal, and too withdrawn with standard America. To do this he recounted a golf anecdote about the article s writer. The article s writer defends himself against statements he says he never said. The author points out that Mill s admits that Bowdoin is a liberal school, and that they need more diversity however the author does not think Mills has an answer to the problem pointing out more contradictions that Mr. Mills makes. The author then empowers Mills and the Bowdoin family to consider important their objective of expanding the assorted qualities of perspectives on grounds. The writer s fundamental purpose of this article was that Mills doesn t have the response to the absence of scholarly assorted qualities at Bowdoin. The writer contended that there was insufficient celebration of our regular American personality. He contended against ideological consistency, on the grounds that it deprived students of the intellectual diversity for the advancement of critical thinking. He contends that Bowdoin has various courses that deal with some group aspect of America, yet for all intents and purposes none that deals with America all in all. The condenser also functions to maintain the temperature throughout the heating process and thereby maximizing the accuracy of the experimental results. The addition of boiling chips in the heating process to dissolve the diphenyl serves to minimize the possibility of the occurrence of bumping, i.e. sudden explosive boiling whereby large bubbles erupt from the heated solution. Instead, a steady stream of small air bubbles is produced with the addition of the chips. Subsequently after complete dissolving of the crude diphenyl, an additional 15 mL of ethanol is added to ensure that all the crude diphenyl is dissolved. A small amount of decolourising charcoal is added to the solution mixture. The decolourising charcoal serves to remove any impurities in the mixture, by adsorbing substances responsible for colouration of the solution on its surface via its activated properties. A small amount is used as the desired product may be adsorbed as well if a large amount is used instead. The mixture is filtered via a preheated stemless glass funnel immediately after boiling for 10 15 minutes. This is to prevent any early crystallization of the mixture since its crystallization temperature is quite low. The use of preheated apparatus for filtration is also to minimize premature crystallization of the mixture. Filtration of the mixture while it is still hot is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Romantic love remains one of the most importance themes in virtually all cultures art; in Japanese and Indian art, although with different historical contexts and therefore interpretations, continues to be no exception. Kitigawa Utamaro prevailed as one of the most important artists under the ukiyo e genres, focusing on the beauty of women in the hedonistic and rigidly organized Tokugawa period as it enjoyed stability the island yearned for. Of an unknown artist of the Rajasthani school in neighboring Madhya Pradesh, foreign powers from the Mughal Empire to the Portuguese slowly encroached in India, yet managed to maintain its traditions in Radha Krishnain its epic romance in Jayadeva s Gita Govinda. The soft colors of pink and green of their clothes and of the mattress on them further affirm the softness of the piece; they are lovers. Although the man s attire contrasts with that of the woman, it is difficult to discern where their bodies apart. Just like how the futon is both green and pink like the man and woman s robes respectively, the piece is supposed to indicate a romantic union between the two. The patterns on the futon and robe help add dimension to the print, which would later be reprinted for the consumption of the merchant class in the Tokugawa period. It is particularly important to note how Utamaro portrays the woman; women by Utamaro not only had an idealized form with slender features, but she barely resembles the common woman of the period with her impossible proportions. In direct contrast with the realism movement and their aspiration in portraying people the way they truly are, Utamaro s depiction of women and romance are dreamily hedonistic just like many Vogue editorials.
