The Theory Of Constraints ( Toc ) Essay
Companies, even relatively small ones are incredibly complex. When facing complex systems, it is so
fall into trap of looking for complicated solutions. Still, we all know that complicated solutions do not
work! Instead, what we should do is realize that every complex system is based on inherent simplicity.
The way to rapidly improve systems is to search out that inherent simplicity and capitalize on it. With
such revolutionary point of view Israel physicist Dr. Goldratt put forth new theory through his book
THE GOAL [4]
The theory of constraints (TOC) is a systems management philosophy. TOC is a management point of
view that views any manageable system as being constrained to achieve more of its objective or goals
by very small no. of constraints. Theory of constraints is the methodology with which it is possible to
identify the constraint factors of the system and find out the solutions to improve the constraint. In
1979, development of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) management philosophy began with the
introduction of Optimized Production Timetables scheduling software. TOC has evolved from this
simple production scheduling software program into a suite of integrated management tools
encompassing three interrelated areas: logistics/ production, performance measurement, and problem
solving/thinking tools. As the Theory of Constraints has grown, so has its acceptance by both
practitioners and academicians. [1]
Theory of Constraints represents a drastic change in

Ancient Greek War And Rituals
Ancient Greek War and Rituals

May 7, 2015
Ares and Athena, the god and goddess of war, were influential religious figures for the Ancient Greek
military. They were especially important during rituals and ceremonies prior to soldiers going to war.
Ares and Athena are important in the warriors or soldiers lives because of what role they play in battle
and in rituals. Athena and Ares weren t as important to the soldiers as you would think, but in some
places of battle they were very significant. When men went into battle they were disciplined and
treated roughly so they could make the cut. They were also cared for by the leaders and two on Mt.
Olympus.
Ancient Greek Military
War and Rituals The soldiers that participated in the Greek military were always nervous before they
went into battle, but there weren t many rituals to the god and goddess of war. You would think that
they would be bombarded with all these prayers and wishes, but the men didn t pray to them as much
as would have thought. On the other hand there were of course some rituals performed by newcomers
or new additions to the military. These men performed raging rituals to help them in battle. Athena and
Ares are important in war and battle, but not a necessity. Ares and Athena have some weird pasts, but
they are important.
Only men were allowed to be apart of the Greek military. The men were taken as boys to

The History And Future Of NASA
NASA s problems with funding that caused the failure of the Landsat commercialization continued
into the future, causing an increase in dependence on foreign and commercial launch vehicles. NASA
continued the downward trend of its funding, into the 1990s, even after seeing a brief jump during the
Bush administration. (Kring) From 1962, NASA had provided the framework for commercial
companies to enter into the world of spaceflight, when Kennedy signed into law the Communications
Satellite Act of 1962. (Communications Satellite Act of 1962) This act provided the framework for
private companies to design, manufacture, and operate their own satellites, while still only offering
their launch services on the Saturn V, THOR, Atlas, and Antares rockets. ... Show more content on

In 2011, coinciding with the retirement of the space shuttle, NASA announced the development of the
Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion Capsule. (Redd) The SLS is meant to serve as a heavy

the capability to reach interplanetary space, with missions currently planned for Europa in 2022, and
Mars in 2033. (Space Launch System) It is a completely non reusable rocket, helping to increase it s
potential maximum payload to LEO, currently estimated at 70 metric tons for Block 1. (Space Launch

being able to carry 130 metric tons to low earth orbit, similar to that of the Saturn V at 140 metric
tons. (Space Launch System) The SLS was designed to work with another NASA designed spacecraft,
the Orion capsule. The Orion capsule is designed in two parts the crew capsule is constructed by
NASA, and the service module is constructed by the ESA. (Orion (spacecraft)) Orion is expected to be
able to provide crew and cargo transport to the ISS, be capable of extended lunar missions, and to
eventually reach Martian orbit on the SLS. (Orion (spacecraft)) However, as good as this program

Proposal Of Action At A Nearby Facility
The purpose of this proposal is to discuss a plan of action in another nearby facility. As a small
business, we are not capable of providing meals due to lack of space in our business. We are
requesting the empty building next door to continue feeding our local children while observing
bidding cost, structure, current numbers, and goals. These procedures will evaluate the adaptation of
another structure without sacrificing the well being of the children that are increasing in numbers. One
of the greatest feelings in the world is knowing that we as individuals can make a difference. Ending

Although, the summer days may be beautiful, there may be days where the air quality is poor due to
surrounding fires in the area, and the weather may not be acceptable for the children to be outside with
rising temperatures here in Anchorage. We have evaluated multiple possibilities, and it has come to
our attention that the building next door has been foreclosed and has remained vacant in the past year.
The building has been remodeled prior to vacancy and is large enough to provide all the amenities
needed. We are currently observing the bids and reviewing the floor plans of the structure. This
building was at one time a Senior Recreation Center with everything we need to continue our
program. The maintenance of the grounds is currently under the City of Anchorage. Utilities for the
building is also functioned by multiple generators. This is an excellent location for the children
because there would be no need to relocate. This will ensure that these children will continue to
receive free nutritious meals during the summer. Their parents are fully aware that their children are in
a safe environment with trained staff, and they know that their children are provided with healthy
meals. These meals provide a gap between the months of school without service.

Soda Bottle Research Paper
The soda bottle is all to common today. It is made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a durable yet a
feather light product. PET is used in many diverse products, such as polyester fabric, cable wraps,
films, transformer insulation, generator parts, and packaging. It contributes to about 6.4 percent of the
packaging industry and 14 percent of plastic containers, including but not at all limited to the common
soft drink bottle. Making up for 43 percent of those sold, PET is the mostly used soda drink container.
Aluminum, comes in second with 34 percent, while glass, which used to be the sole and only
contender, is now only a petite percentage of the material used for bottling.

the latter substance is continuously removed during polymerization and used to make more PET. After
the PET mixture reaches the required viscosity (thickness), it is cooled to avoid degradation and

To His Coy Mistress Alliteration
Through use of tone, situation and setting, and specific word choice, the authors create a scene that is
easily recognizable and relatable. In the poem To His Coy Mistress the speaker attempts to seduce a
hesitant woman. The speaker s attempts to persuade the mistress can be identified with the change of
tone and pace in the poem. For example, Had we but world enough, and time, This coyness, lady, were
no crime. (1 2) in these two opening lines, Marvell uses punctuation in order to slow down the pace of
the poem without interfering with his consistent use of iambic. This reflects the speakers message of
how pointless time is. This is followed by the repeated use of open vowel sounds, such as would,
which, way, and our in the next two lines to make the reader sound wistful as if they are sighing We
would sit down, and think which way To walk, and pass our long love s day (3 4). To further woo the
mistress, alliteration is also used to great effect, in line 1 we and world , in line 2 coyness and crime ,
in Line 3 we would and which way and finally in line 4 long love s . In the next sixteen lines, it can be
sensed the speaker has upon his lips a slow smirk forming, that coincides ... Show more content on

which the flea has not refrained from enjoying: the intimate union of their bodily fluids. This regular

What strategic alliances (including suppliers and market channels) has Xiaomi established in China?
What role do strategic alliances play in Xiaomi s international expansion? Xiao Mi came up with a
very well thought plan of a vast wide array of suppliers and market channels. China was a retail
dominated mobile device market. Any mobile phone manufacturer could choose whether or not to get
a space in retail store and sell phones to the public. Xiaomi had decided to use online selling as their
primary means of distibution on the purpose of lowering sales costs and its products prices which
proved to be a success in its domestic market(China). They established partnerships with different
suppliers that enabled them to cut cost and also opened the door for a wide array of developing
products which is more commonly called the internet of things, their goal is to have different
household devices to be controlled by their brand of smartphone. For their market channels, it is so
interesting that they relied more on word of mouth which led their marketing only 3% of their budget.
Strategic alliances played a big part in Xiaomi s plan for expansion it enabled them to lower their cost
particularly in India and they were also able to establish some relationship even though they have
some challenges they were able to go past through it and establish themselves in the local

The Purpose of the Labor Relations Act
Over the last seventy five years labor related issues has went through a dramatic changed that affects
today labor movement. During the 1930 s the labor movement gained due to the abundance of labor,
employers easily replaced workers. Labor unions were established in order for workers to get
organized and bargain for their needs and rights. These unions were created because it was known that
groups have more power in bargaining than individuals. When large groups of employees make joint
decisions, employers are forced to listen to their concerns. For example, if all the workers in a factory
stopped working at the same time, it would be difficult to keep the company operating. Early unions in
North America faced a difficult battle. Employers refused to accept the unions. The courts often
declared the unions illegal. The National Labor Relations Act of 1935 and other laws required
employers to bargain with unions. Political parties and other groups have also become involved with
the labor movement (Labor Movement). Understanding the legal ramifications involved both with and
without a union is a necessity for all human resource professionals. I will address the differences and
similarities in employee relations approaches in both types of environments. In addition reviewing key
aspects of labor relations law and the collective bargaining process, I will address the purpose of the
Labor Relations Act and what it provides for workers. From there, the purpose of the Labor

Types Of Occupations Within The Workplace Essay
Often in the world there are jobs that come across as rather boring or tedious to complete day in and
day out. However, it is a must to keep these jobs as they allow us to provide basic needs for ourselves
in life. Some types of occupations consist of a specialised job, with this, the five core job
characteristics derived from the job characteristics model also apply to these jobs. Furthermore, the
five job features are known to be skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback,
each having their own importance. By identifying the characteristics, three redesigning techniques can
be implemented being establishing client relationships which are, combining tasks, establishing client
relationships and vertically loading the job. The specialised job holds the job characteristics and can
be redesigned as well to improve on some of those five task features.
Mortgage brokers are known to have very demanding jobs with having to settle deals involving
different types of investment properties, providing home loan services and organise large amounts of
documents. However, a mortgage broker may take upon a business intern or administrator which is a
specialised job, these individuals look after their documents and organise all their client files. A
specialised job can be further defined as a job composed of a small part of a larger task or process
(Williams McWilliams 2014, p. 156). A business intern seems like a fancy name, but a primary job for

Ganondorf is never first to arrive when the council is summoned. Though he is never tardy, Ganondorf
does make them wait. His fellows trickle in, some in groups, others one or two at a time. Some of
them rush to have Harkinian s ear before the rest, so they might curry favor for one scheme or against
some threat, real or imagined. Ganondorf found, quite some time ago in fact, that he simply did not
care enough to be bothered. He had enemies, no doubt, but none of them were ever quite bold enough
to plot against him. And there was nothing under the sun that Harkinian could give him, or that he
would ever stoop low enough to ask for. Harkinian never begins until they are all present and
accounted for. So they must wait, tense and long minutes that tick on like lifetimes. When Ganondorf
enters, the last of a long train of Hylian nobles, it is no grand affair. The doors swing open and clatter
against the walls and he stands in the threshold, to ensure he is seen. He is always dressed simply, in
his general s regalia, the Triforce stamped in yellow the bright red cape on his shoulders. Still, a hush

The Story behind Diamonds
Diamonds are one of the most popular minerals in the world and yet people are not aware of the
circumstances it takes to acquire this such unique mineral. Many people would agree when I say that
this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it
was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate
mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100
miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next,
squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. Finally, it
must quickly rush to the earths surface to cool off. All this must be done just to create diamond.
Luckily for some men, scientist have created an alternative of the mined diamonds, it is a synthetic
diamond composed of the same things and look almost identical. So if you re planning to pop the big
question soon you have options with that part of the proposal. When you think of the price of real
diamonds you might think that they are pretty expensive and what makes them so special. Along with
its looks, it is a rare mineral that still has a high demand. The places where you can find high
concentrations are usually far away. As a matter of fact, the location that has the largest concentration
of diamonds is in central and southern Africa. It is reported that they have 49% of

Willis O Brien s Use Of Stop Motion In King Kong
King Kong (1933)
The 1933 film King Kong was one of the first feature films to use stop motion as a practical effect. In
that time, it was the only way to create the creatures such as those and have them interact with the live
action characters. Willis O Brien was the lead special effects artist on King Kong; he was one of the
pioneers of stop motion animation. Throughout King Kong, many different practical techniques were
used to bring the film to life including, stop motion, miniature sets, mattes and full scale practical
creatures.
For the film, 74 different Kong were created, they were all alike, their only difference being in their
size. The largest Kong was 50 ft. tall, its face alone, from chin to hair line, was 7 ft. tall. The biggest
Kong was only seen fully assembled once during the film and that was at the end after being after

The Effects of the One-Child Policy in China Essay example
Would it be fair for the Government to control how many children you have? Is it fair for them to kill
your unborn children? Since 1949 under the rule of Mao Zedong, the communist Chinese government
had enforced policies that control families and couples in China. The Government has forced the
people to have more children at one point and less at another. The One Child policy in China limits
Chinese couples to one child each. The three exceptions to the policy are: Minority ethnic groups,
urban single child residents, and the policy only enforced on the Han Chinese. The one child policy
was a bad idea for China for three reasons: punishments (inequality), unfair treatment of women, and
china s fertility rate was already decreasing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

expected to be in arranged marriages and are not respected in their family or the work place. Woman

girl from ultrasound they would abort that child and try for a boy causing pre birth ultrasounds to be

culturally preferable, the practice of female infanticide was resumed in some areas shortly after the
one child policy took effect. (Document E) I hate to say it but the one child policy should party be
blamed for some social issues in youth today. She wished she has a brother or sister to share all the
attention. (Document F) This evidence supports the claim that the one child policy was a bad policy
because women have always been culturally no preferable, causing unborn females to be aborted.
The final reason that the one child policy was a bad idea is because of the fact that China s fertility
rate was already decreasing and was one of the lowest rates compared to Brazil, South Korea, and
Thailand in 1979 making the policy pointless and unnecessary. The claim by the Chinese officials that
the one child policy has helped avert over 400 million births simply cannot be substantiated by

Different Gait Abnormalities
Initially survey of many patients with different gait abnormalities was done by which we found that
there were different types of gaits. The patients were affected in different parts of the body and were a
part of gait analysis known by different names. The present and the existing devices were also studied
and was found that these devices provided analog output. Analog signals had distortion which creates
a loss of signals and it is able to recover the attenuated signals. These were the disadvantages which
were taken as the objectives of the project. Hence, we decided to go for a digital output to provide
accurately and quantify the output. The existing way of treating the patients was very costly and the
results need to the processed by using video camera etc. The cost of the device was high which was
not affordable by all people. Hence, there was a need to develop the portable device which helps in
measuring gait parameters by digital sensors and provide assistance in taking the value of these
parameters and helps the doctors to treat the patients. A. Block Diagram of Gait analysis

How Did The French Revolution Affect Morocco
In the 17th and 18th centuries Morocco wanted to be colonized by both the French and the Spanish.
This caused great tension between the two and lead to much fighting. In 1904, France and Spain
agreed on a conclusion that Morocco would be split into zones of French and Spanish influence. Spain
got to control a small portion of the southwest that became to be known as the Spanish Sahara; while
the French controlled the rest of Morocco. The colonization of Morocco contributed many
economical, political and social advances throughout history that are still seen in modern day.
Economical effects have impacted Morocco widely. Trade is one of Morocco s strong points. Morocco
traded items with the EU and, all together, was worth approximately 32 billion American dollars in
2013 (Trade). The EU took in many supplies from Morocco, but there were three main areas that stood
out. Those areas included machinery and transport equipment, agricultural products, and clothing
(Trade). Machinery and transport equipment was shown to be the most dominate area for trading. The

Essay on The Essence of Pop Culture
Talk about Pop Music, Talk about Pop Music was one of the most catchy phrases of the 1980 s. Just
as in the 80 s, today we see many characteristics of pop culture effecting our lives. But, what is pop
culture?
br
br I spent some time online trying to answer my question and time after time I was led to the same
direction: pop culture is what we see, hear, speak, and are otherwise exposed to on a daily basis. The
infomercials we see late on television, the billboards we see on the side of the road, the junk mail we
receive, the links on the web pages we visit, and the radio commercials we hear all tie together to form
this idea of pop culture. These, plus many other aspects, form our minds and teach us how to be
culturally smart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

watch it. He has become forever an American figure and will always be associated when some one
brings up a story about a fight and they then say hey you remember that Springer Show? This show
represents the corrupt side of society, which we do not see on a normal daily basis, except for on the

The connection between Hel and Ragnarök is through Odin s son Baldur. Baldur was one of the most
beloved of all the gods. Baldur was a generous, joyful, and courageous character who gladdened the
hearts of all who spent time with him. When, therefore, he began to have ominous dreams of some
grave misfortune befalling him, the fearful gods appointed Odin to discover their meaning. Odin
mounted his eight legged steed, Sleipnir, and rode him to the underworld. When he reached the cold
and misty underworld, he found the halls arrayed in splendor, as if some magnificent feast were about
to occur. He soon found out that guest of honor for this festivity was to be none other than Baldur.
Odin returned in sorrow to Asgard, the gods celestial stronghold, and told his fellow gods what he had
been told. Frigg, wanting for any chance of saving her treasured son, went to every thing in the
cosmos and obtained oaths to not harm Baldur. After these oaths were secured, the gods made a sport
out of the situation. They threw sticks, rocks, and anything else on hand at Baldur, and everyone
laughed as these things bounced off and left the shining god unharmed. Loki saw an opportunity to
cause mischief and took it. In disguise, he went to Frigg and asked her, Did all things swear oaths to
spare Baldur from harm? Oh, yes, the goddess replied, everything except the mistletoe. But the
mistletoe is so small and innocent a thing that I felt it superfluous to ask it for an oath. What harm
could it do to my son? Immediately after hearing this, Loki located the mistletoe, and brought it to
where the gods were playing their new favorite game. He approached the blind god Hod and said, You

Movies Of The 2000 s
The purpose of our project is to examine the impact different variables such as the budget, popularity,
and vote count, have on movies over the past 16 years. Using IBM Watson analytics, we are
discovering the trends and relationships between these variables and their effect on movies in the 2000
s. We start out by displaying how the relationship between budget and vote count by year, and its
effect on revenue. This report also examines the popularity of the movie industry over the last 16 years
by identifying trends in the relationship between release date and popularity of the movies. Next, we
look how the budgets for these movies have changed over the last 16 years. By studying these factors,
we can better understand how the budget, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1 Driver category vote count was the top factor at 39%. In the 2 Driver category vote count was
also included in the budget. Both were the main two factors that were at 54% that drove revenue
upward. Overall, if the film industry produces a must see movie and sells a ton of movie tickets cause
of the popularity the revenue that the film industry gains is higher.
Figure 2.
This graph is a circle graph, and deals with the budget as the main factor. The graph shows a steady
budget through the years of 2000 2002, and from 2003 2011 you can see a major growth in the budget
that had one down year in 2007. 2012 2014 showed the highest amount of the budget allocated for
movies within the time period and then fell back down to normal in 2015. This graph really explains
how the budget for productions have grown since the year 2000 and how there has been various
advancements and money put into movie productions in present day times and how the value of the
budget has increased.
Figure 3.
According to the line graph in Figure 3, popularity does not have a specific trend. The graph shows
the popularity of movies over the years, which displays how popularity is constantly increasing and
decreasing. Although in the majority of the years the popularity is increasing, there is a trend of
popularity decreasing for one or two years at a time, and then there is exponential growth of

Arrow Paradox Baby Bash
Artist: Baby Bash
Song: In Motion
Lyric: I m in motion/Sippin love potion
Topic: Arrow Paradox
The concept of arrow paradox claims that when objects occupy an equal space at rest and locomotion
is constant at the moment; then a flying arrow will be declared to be motionless. Zeno claims that at
any instant an object is motionless because it cannot move to a place that it is not due to the fact that
time has not elapsed. On the other hand, an object cannot move to where the object already is because
that would create a paradox, seeing as the object is already there. It is impossible to observe any form
of motion when the time is paused. Furthermore, if space is occupied by the objects then also the
arrow should be dormant. Thus, the entire elaboration of this notion creates a fallacy. One can
conclude form the arrow paradox that motion is impossible because everything is motionless at each
instant, and time in essence is the sum of many instances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are multiple lyrics in the song referring to how someone or something is in motion: I m in
motion/Sippin love potion. The arrow paradox states for motion to occur, an object must change the
position in which it occupies, therefore, in a given moment a flying arrow, for example, is motionless;
The lyric from In Motion can be related in the sense that at the given moment when the artist is
conveying the message that he/she is in motion, they are actually motionless, because at any given
moment an object or person in motionless. Furthermore, at any given moment, the love potion is
motionless, which would make it impossible for the subject of the song to be

Comparing Augustine s Confessions And Boethius
If God knows what we will do before we do it, how can we be held accountable for our actions? This
is the question most Christians ask themselves often. All through the entire history of Christianity, the
theologians and philosophers have tried to answer if God will save all people or only particular
people. Christians believe that God is omniscient and omnipotent. Therefore, every human action is
known to God and thus predestined. This means God foresees people choices and actions before it is
committed. Augustine s Confessions and Boethius Consolation of Philosophy both deal with this
question by narrowing it to three of this categories: original Sin, free will and predestination.
The original sin was committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit
and they were punished by God and thrown out of the Garden.According to Augustine, everyone born
always inherit the original sin from Adam and Eve. In The C V textbook, Augustine states that, .....the
guilt of Adam for eating the forbidden fruit, is inherited by all humans. (Cunningham et al. 221).It is
only through infant baptism and spiritual salvation that these sin can be washed. ... Show more content

Augustine strongly believed and taught about predestination doctrine and people can only be saved by
grace of God. He stated that, if some people are predestined to enjoy salvation by God s decree, others
must then be eternally separated from God, also by his decree. Because salvation is predestined, it
follows that condemnation must also be predestined. He also added that people have free will to
choose to live so that they can be saved, even though God knows who can be saved (Cunningham et
al.

Time Is An Illusion Essay
Time. Is it an illusion? Or is it real? These two questions have been debated many times by
philosophers all around the world but they have yet to give a certain answer. Everyday, we use the
concept of time to measure how long an event is, to tell someone when to do what and to place your
events of the day in order. We are constantly using the perception of time in our sentences, but is time
actually real? I personally think that time is an illusion. I believe this because time is simply
something that gives order to our events, we do not progress in time and that time is simply an illusion
created by us.
Time is something that reminds us when there is an event that we must attend to. If you look at a
clock, all you see is a bunch of numbers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saint Augustine stated that there are three times; a present time about things past, a present time about
things present, a present time about things future. The future exists only as expectations, the past
exists only as memory, but expectation and memory exist in the present. This means that you cannot
relive the past because you are always in the present time. Even if you are remembering a memory
from the past or waiting for something in the future, you are still in the present. Marina Abramovic
quotes: Time is an illusion. Time only exists when we think about the past and the future. Time doesn t
exist in the present here and now. This means that we only think that there is time since there is a past
and future. As time flows, the present is always updating itself every millisecond. As you read this
sentence, you might think that you are in the present but the moment is no longer happening. After
you read the sentence, that time you read it becomes the past. If you backtrack to the memory of you
reading the sentence, you are still in the present even though you are thinking of the past. If you look
at the clock, in one minute the you that you are now will be in the past. The future you will become
the present you and then almost instantly become the past you. Therefore we are always in the present
and it is the mind that can be in the present or the

Developmental psychologists study changes in Lifespan Development that apply intermediately to

lifespan, and how and why human beings change over the course of their life (Santrock). Nurses in
particular are call upon for much more to administer a medicine or do a treatment. There is an
important role in understanding the relationship between a patient s medical and psychological needs
(Potter Perry). The reason being that lifespan developmental psychology, is a critical component to the
training of every nurse. The nursing fields applies to all areas of Lifespan Development, and nurses
work in a setting where they are required to work and interact with other professionals in a effort to
bring the best quality of care to their patients. This involves the need for the full understanding how or
why a person may behave in any given situation. With the knowledge of psychology nurses will learn
to interact with patient all based on different factors such as gender and age. If two patients were
undergoing the same procedure, the patient who is younger could be more afraid than the adult

Within 100 years, African Americans overcame many obstacles such as paying poll taxes, passing
multiple tests, and violence to be able to vote. They had to pay taxes, such as poll taxes. They also had
to pass multiple tests, such as the Property and Literacy tests. Violence was also an obstacle African

The Crisis Of Mattel
The previous crisis of Mattel included that the products were tainted with lead paint and that some of
the products had loose little magnets. Both of these faulted products could have caused harm to the
children. This is why it was decided to recall all these products and take measures to prevent this from
happening in the future. Various stakeholders were affected by this crisis, for example parents,
children, manufacturers and investors. Which is why Mattel had to come with a strong crisis
communication strategy.
Within a few days the factory that produced the tainted toys was identified and the production was
stopped. An investigation was launched to determine the scope of the problem. This ended at the end
of July and by the beginning of August, Mattel alerted the public and started taking back all the toys.
Afterwards, Mattel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A strength of the implemented strategy was the use of several media channels (TV, newspaper and the
internet) and the good timing. Mattel responded very accurately. Especially in crises where the
organization is to blame, responsibility should be taken immediately. Also the transparency and
sincerity of the message were well communicated to the public. Because being honest and direct when
addressing the target audiences about what happened is of utmost importance. Mattel communicated
the new safety regulations, the reassurance that measures had been taken to prevent this from
happening in the future and a public apology from the CEO clearly. The video of the CEO was another
strength of the crisis communication strategy. Because with a video you can reach a very large
audience and the public can see if you are sincere. A video news release increases the chance that TV
news media will air information about the recall because it adequately provides information about the
recall to TV news producers in the form that they need and will be able to use

What Are The Stereotypes Of Media Bias
Today s media likes to give the appearance of honesty and truth, but it is really still just biased
propaganda paid for by the bigger powers that control the news we know today. Many People are
easily swayed by big news companies because they think they can trust them, when in reality they are
just taking advantage of people. A story I found from CNN talked about How a North Korean missile
test earned Kim Jong Un s praise (K.J. Kwon, CNN). This shows that a lot of the stories that media
covers seem to be pretty underwhelming, but they use cliffhangers and over hype the story that is,
Coming up next! , to make a pretty simple story seem impactful. The media over exaggerates events
constantly, making a incredibly small and meaningless story into a devastating monster of a news
report. A lot of the news is meant to sway your thoughts about an event or even a person. Sometimes
you never even notice that you are being sculpted into thinking a certain way. All of these news
providers have been around for years and years so they have perfected the art of manipulating its
viewers into thinking exactly what they want them to think. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Philip and Mrs. Narwin s confrontation, that included singing along to the national anthem, was blown
way out of proportion by the media in the book. The newspaper gets ahold of it and twists a few words

let a student flex his right to being patriotic. The reality of the situation is that a kid was just trying to

New Hampshire Ski Trip
OMG are there yet...? It seems like we have been driving for years! When the car started to slow
down, and I heard the rumbling of my parents talking, I popped up to look out the window to see if it
was officially the start of my annual New Hampshire ski trip. The adrenaline traveled throughout my
body when we drove by the perfect snow covered mountains. I was eager to get upon them and ski
down the light powdery sand like snow. I sprung out of the car at the sight of my vast, log house. My
condo is right at the base of the mountain so when looking out you can see everything that s going on.
The roof was covered in lush soft snow with beautiful, unique icicles dangling from every possible
platform. When going out to the back deck, there was a clear view of every ski trail, and at night you

butterflies, but I felt if I didn t do this now, when would I ever have the chance to do it. Only me and
my dad did it, my sister and mom were too frightened. I insisted on going first... well, I wouldn t let
my dad go first. I took the lift up to the unloading area and a tall slim man, with a deep voice greeted
me there, he stated reading of directions to me, I only heard him say READY SET GOOO!! I went as
fast as I could down the small slope, and up off the jump. I shot up into the air like a rocket ship, when
I came down, I let out a YELP of excitement. I landed right smack down in the middle of the bag.

How Did Benedict Arnold Win The Patriots
Benedict Arnold was a patriot after all. He fought more battles for the patriots than for Great Britain.
He served the 13 colonies for longer than he served Great Britain. And he did defect to Great Britain,
but not for the reasons that we think.
At the end of his military career for the Patriots, Benedict was a Major General. He fought and won 8
battles for the patriots. Of which included Fort Ticonderoga, West Point, and Quebec City. Benedict
also planned many of the attacks for the patriots. He only fought in 3 battles for Great Britain.
His military career started in March 1775, in Connecticut where he was elected captain of the militia.
He served the patriots for 5 more years after that, fighting in the battles of Quebec, The Cedars,
Valcour Island, Ridgefield, and Saratoga. Also he marched 1,100 men from Cambridge to Quebec.
Although he did serve the British, he only served them for one year, from 1780 1781. ... Show more

He wasn t getting enough money or recognition in the continental army. Other civilian leaders were
getting more recognition than he was, even though he served the patriots faithfully for five years.
Arnold did accomplish more for the British than the patriots though. He won 3 battles and had the
rank of Brigadier General, which is one rank below major general, in one year. In the end Benedict
Arnold did almost cost war.

start classifying him as a man who made mistakes. But at the end of the day his patriotism amounts to

Mainstream Game Development is Predominately Designed by...
First of all, despite the gaming audience being half women, most AAA games are made focussed
entirely on male in mind. Ken Levine himself said that Bioshock Infinite was marketed to appeal to
frat boys. And Naughty Dog has revealed they didn t want to see what women thought of The Last of
Us and that they were trying to appeal exclusively to males. While the director of Remember me has
said the female protagonist has been killed off by publishers because men allegedly don t want to play

from Tomb Raider . But even the best playable female characters are going to be inoffensively

overly sexualised in the older games. In the latest Tomb Raider game she is attractive, realistically

Sexism in the Gaming Industry
For 20 years the industry s attitude was women don t play video games , although they are slowly

her to kill herself. The abuse got so bad that Zoe had to change her phone number. She eventually took

  • 2. The Theory Of Constraints ( Toc ) Essay Companies, even relatively small ones are incredibly complex. When facing complex systems, it is so fall into trap of looking for complicated solutions. Still, we all know that complicated solutions do not work! Instead, what we should do is realize that every complex system is based on inherent simplicity. The way to rapidly improve systems is to search out that inherent simplicity and capitalize on it. With such revolutionary point of view Israel physicist Dr. Goldratt put forth new theory through his book THE GOAL [4] The theory of constraints (TOC) is a systems management philosophy. TOC is a management point of view that views any manageable system as being constrained to achieve more of its objective or goals by very small no. of constraints. Theory of constraints is the methodology with which it is possible to identify the constraint factors of the system and find out the solutions to improve the constraint. In 1979, development of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) management philosophy began with the introduction of Optimized Production Timetables scheduling software. TOC has evolved from this simple production scheduling software program into a suite of integrated management tools encompassing three interrelated areas: logistics/ production, performance measurement, and problem solving/thinking tools. As the Theory of Constraints has grown, so has its acceptance by both practitioners and academicians. [1] Theory of Constraints represents a drastic change in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ancient Greek War And Rituals Ancient Greek War and Rituals Mya Hager East Mooresville Intermediate School 4th Quarter 2015 May 7, 2015 Ares and Athena, the god and goddess of war, were influential religious figures for the Ancient Greek military. They were especially important during rituals and ceremonies prior to soldiers going to war. Ares and Athena are important in the warriors or soldiers lives because of what role they play in battle and in rituals. Athena and Ares weren t as important to the soldiers as you would think, but in some places of battle they were very significant. When men went into battle they were disciplined and treated roughly so they could make the cut. They were also cared for by the leaders and two on Mt. Olympus. Ancient Greek Military War and Rituals The soldiers that participated in the Greek military were always nervous before they went into battle, but there weren t many rituals to the god and goddess of war. You would think that they would be bombarded with all these prayers and wishes, but the men didn t pray to them as much as would have thought. On the other hand there were of course some rituals performed by newcomers or new additions to the military. These men performed raging rituals to help them in battle. Athena and Ares are important in war and battle, but not a necessity. Ares and Athena have some weird pasts, but they are important. Only men were allowed to be apart of the Greek military. The men were taken as boys to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The History And Future Of NASA NASA s problems with funding that caused the failure of the Landsat commercialization continued into the future, causing an increase in dependence on foreign and commercial launch vehicles. NASA continued the downward trend of its funding, into the 1990s, even after seeing a brief jump during the Bush administration. (Kring) From 1962, NASA had provided the framework for commercial companies to enter into the world of spaceflight, when Kennedy signed into law the Communications Satellite Act of 1962. The building has been remodeled prior to vacancy and is large enough to provide all the amenities needed. We are currently observing the bids and reviewing the floor plans of the structure. This building was at one time a Senior Recreation Center with everything we need to continue our program. The maintenance of the grounds is currently under the City of Anchorage. Utilities for the building is also functioned by multiple generators. This is an excellent location for the children because there would be no need to relocate. This will ensure that these children will continue to receive free nutritious meals during the summer. • 7. To His Coy Mistress Alliteration Through use of tone, situation and setting, and specific word choice, the authors create a scene that is easily recognizable and relatable. In the poem To His Coy Mistress the speaker attempts to seduce a hesitant woman. The speaker s attempts to persuade the mistress can be identified with the change of tone and pace in the poem. For example, Had we but world enough, and time, This coyness, lady, were no crime. (1 2) in these two opening lines, Marvell uses punctuation in order to slow down the pace of the poem without interfering with his consistent use of iambic. This reflects the speakers message of how pointless time is. This is followed by the repeated use of open vowel sounds, such as would, which, way, and our in the next two lines to make the reader sound wistful as if they are sighing We would sit down, and think which way To walk, and pass our long love s day (3 4). What strategic alliances (including suppliers and market channels) has Xiaomi established in China? What role do strategic alliances play in Xiaomi s international expansion? Xiao Mi came up with a very well thought plan of a vast wide array of suppliers and market channels. China was a retail dominated mobile device market. Any mobile phone manufacturer could choose whether or not to get a space in retail store and sell phones to the public. Xiaomi had decided to use online selling as their primary means of distibution on the purpose of lowering sales costs and its products prices which proved to be a success in its domestic market(China). They established partnerships with different suppliers that enabled them to cut cost and also opened the door for a wide array of developing products which is more commonly called the internet of things, their goal is to have different household devices to be controlled by their brand of smartphone. For their market channels, it is so interesting that they relied more on word of mouth which led their marketing only 3% of their budget. • 9. The Purpose of the Labor Relations Act Over the last seventy five years labor related issues has went through a dramatic changed that affects today labor movement. During the 1930 s the labor movement gained due to the abundance of labor, employers easily replaced workers. Labor unions were established in order for workers to get organized and bargain for their needs and rights. These unions were created because it was known that groups have more power in bargaining than individuals. When large groups of employees make joint decisions, employers are forced to listen to their concerns. For example, if all the workers in a factory stopped working at the same time, it would be difficult to keep the company operating. Early unions in North America faced a difficult battle. Employers refused to accept the unions. The courts often declared the unions illegal. The National Labor Relations Act of 1935 and other laws required employers to bargain with unions. Political parties and other groups have also become involved with the labor movement (Labor Movement). Understanding the legal ramifications involved both with and without a union is a necessity for all human resource professionals. I will address the differences and similarities in employee relations approaches in both types of environments. In addition reviewing key aspects of labor relations law and the collective bargaining process, I will address the purpose of the Labor Relations Act and what it provides for workers. • 10. Types Of Occupations Within The Workplace Essay Often in the world there are jobs that come across as rather boring or tedious to complete day in and day out. However, it is a must to keep these jobs as they allow us to provide basic needs for ourselves in life. Some types of occupations consist of a specialised job, with this, the five core job characteristics derived from the job characteristics model also apply to these jobs. Furthermore, the five job features are known to be skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback, each having their own importance. By identifying the characteristics, three redesigning techniques can be implemented being establishing client relationships which are, combining tasks, establishing client relationships and vertically loading the job. The specialised job holds the job characteristics and can be redesigned as well to improve on some of those five task features. Mortgage brokers are known to have very demanding jobs with having to settle deals involving different types of investment properties, providing home loan services and organise large amounts of documents. However, a mortgage broker may take upon a business intern or administrator which is a specialised job, these individuals look after their documents and organise all their client files. A specialised job can be further defined as a job composed of a small part of a larger task or process (Williams McWilliams 2014, p. 156). His fellows trickle in, some in groups, others one or two at a time. Some of them rush to have Harkinian s ear before the rest, so they might curry favor for one scheme or against some threat, real or imagined. Ganondorf found, quite some time ago in fact, that he simply did not care enough to be bothered. He had enemies, no doubt, but none of them were ever quite bold enough to plot against him. And there was nothing under the sun that Harkinian could give him, or that he would ever stoop low enough to ask for. Harkinian never begins until they are all present and accounted for. So they must wait, tense and long minutes that tick on like lifetimes. When Ganondorf enters, the last of a long train of Hylian nobles, it is no grand affair. The doors swing open and clatter against the walls and he stands in the threshold, to ensure he is seen. He is always dressed simply, in his general s regalia, the Triforce stamped in yellow the bright red cape on his shoulders. Still, a hush quiets the room and all of them turn to look at him. • 12. The Story behind Diamonds Diamonds are one of the most popular minerals in the world and yet people are not aware of the circumstances it takes to acquire this such unique mineral. Many people would agree when I say that this mineral is such a nice thing to look at, but few people actually know what it is made of and how it was formed. These precious minerals are composed of Carbon. The process to making this immaculate mineral is as following. First, you must bury Carbon dioxide deep into the earth; approximately, 100 miles deep. Second, you must heat the substance at a temperature of 2,200 degrees fahrenheit. Next, squeeze or tightly compact the substance under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch. Finally, it must quickly rush to the earths surface to cool off. All this must be done just to create diamond. Luckily for some men, scientist have created an alternative of the mined diamonds, it is a synthetic diamond composed of the same things and look almost identical. So if you re planning to pop the big question soon you have options with that part of the proposal. When you think of the price of real diamonds you might think that they are pretty expensive and what makes them so special. Along with its looks, it is a rare mineral that still has a high demand. The places where you can find high concentrations are usually far away. As a matter of fact, the location that has the largest concentration of diamonds is in central and southern Africa. It is reported that they have 49% of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Effects of the One-Child Policy in China Essay example Would it be fair for the Government to control how many children you have? Is it fair for them to kill your unborn children? Since 1949 under the rule of Mao Zedong, the communist Chinese government had enforced policies that control families and couples in China. The Government has forced the people to have more children at one point and less at another. The One Child policy in China limits Chinese couples to one child each. The three exceptions to the policy are: Minority ethnic groups, urban single child residents, and the policy only enforced on the Han Chinese. The patients were affected in different parts of the body and were a part of gait analysis known by different names. The present and the existing devices were also studied and was found that these devices provided analog output. Analog signals had distortion which creates a loss of signals and it is able to recover the attenuated signals. These were the disadvantages which were taken as the objectives of the project. Hence, we decided to go for a digital output to provide accurately and quantify the output. The existing way of treating the patients was very costly and the results need to the processed by using video camera etc. The cost of the device was high which was not affordable by all people. Hence, there was a need to develop the portable device which helps in measuring gait parameters by digital sensors and provide assistance in taking the value of these parameters and helps the doctors to treat the patients. Odin mounted his eight legged steed, Sleipnir, and rode him to the underworld. When he reached the cold and misty underworld, he found the halls arrayed in splendor, as if some magnificent feast were about to occur. He soon found out that guest of honor for this festivity was to be none other than Baldur. Odin returned in sorrow to Asgard, the gods celestial stronghold, and told his fellow gods what he had been told. Frigg, wanting for any chance of saving her treasured son, went to every thing in the cosmos and obtained oaths to not harm Baldur. After these oaths were secured, the gods made a sport out of the situation. Arrow Paradox Baby Bash Artist: Baby Bash Song: In Motion Lyric: I m in motion/Sippin love potion Topic: Arrow Paradox The concept of arrow paradox claims that when objects occupy an equal space at rest and locomotion is constant at the moment; then a flying arrow will be declared to be motionless. Zeno claims that at any instant an object is motionless because it cannot move to a place that it is not due to the fact that time has not elapsed. On the other hand, an object cannot move to where the object already is because that would create a paradox, seeing as the object is already there. It is impossible to observe any form of motion when the time is paused. Furthermore, if space is occupied by the objects then also the arrow should be dormant. Thus, the entire elaboration of this notion creates a fallacy. • 23. Comparing Augustine s Confessions And Boethius If God knows what we will do before we do it, how can we be held accountable for our actions? This is the question most Christians ask themselves often. All through the entire history of Christianity, the theologians and philosophers have tried to answer if God will save all people or only particular people. Christians believe that God is omniscient and omnipotent. Therefore, every human action is known to God and thus predestined. This means God foresees people choices and actions before it is committed. Augustine s Confessions and Boethius Consolation of Philosophy both deal with this question by narrowing it to three of this categories: original Sin, free will and predestination. The original sin was committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit and they were punished by God and thrown out of the Garden.According to Augustine, everyone born always inherit the original sin from Adam and Eve. These two questions have been debated many times by philosophers all around the world but they have yet to give a certain answer. Everyday, we use the concept of time to measure how long an event is, to tell someone when to do what and to place your events of the day in order. We are constantly using the perception of time in our sentences, but is time actually real? I personally think that time is an illusion. I believe this because time is simply something that gives order to our events, we do not progress in time and that time is simply an illusion created by us. Time is something that reminds us when there is an event that we must attend to. If you look at a clock, all you see is a bunch of numbers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saint Augustine stated that there are three times; a present time about things past, a present time about things present, a present time about things future. The future exists only as expectations, the past exists only as memory, but expectation and memory exist in the present. This means that you cannot relive the past because you are always in the present time. Even if you are remembering a memory from the past or waiting for something in the future, you are still in the present. Marina Abramovic quotes: Time is an illusion. Time only exists when we think about the past and the future. Time doesn t exist in the present here and now. This means that we only think that there is time since there is a past and future. As time flows, the present is always updating itself every millisecond. As you read this sentence, you might think that you are in the present but the moment is no longer happening. After you read the sentence, that time you read it becomes the past. If you backtrack to the memory of you reading the sentence, you are still in the present even though you are thinking of the past.
