Synthesis Essay On Drinking And Driving
I am going to look at Drinking and Driving and Texting while Driving, in order to find out how
hazardous both are and how laws have been enforced, because it will address all drivers how fatal
drinking and distracted driving can be. Drinking and driving is an important issue for all drivers across
America. Driver s not only need to be aware of drunk drivers, but also need to be able to detect a
distractive driver. Getting behind a wheel while drunk or even texting can change someone s life in a
split second. Not only are the drivers life at stake, but they passengers and other drivers at risk for
their negligent driving. Laws have been enforced to for those who drive while under the influence and
those who use a cellular device, but it cannot always be stopped. There are too many drivers on the
road compared to law enforcement. Majority of drivers do get distracted, they believe they can multi
task, and they believe they are ok to get behind the wheel and drive home. There are many reasons as
to why a driver would drive drunk and many reasons a driver would state as to why he/she was
texting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These statistics and the articles written, will expose all drivers to think twice. If one just so happens to
be a passenger, speak up when felt uncomfortable. Majority of us feel that while we are intoxicated, or
distracted, things will be fine, but we don t necessarily think of the consequences. Many drivers find it
hard to resist responding to a text message and don t realize how long their eyes are off the road. It is
easy to get behind a wheel while intoxicated and it is easy to text and drive. I think learning more
about drinking while driving and becoming a distracted driver is a great opportunity to share with
drivers and open their minds. I hope to find evidence that will help me do exactly

Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight in Indonesia
Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight
Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that was under a military dictatorship for 32 years. The
dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d état by Indonesia s Communist Party in
1966. General Suharto, the one who had the biggest role in failing the coup d état, ousted the first
president and established an autocratic anti communist regime known as the New Order, which
attracted political and economic support from Western governments during the Cold War. At the
beginning of this era, he said he would practice a kind of semi direct democracy, while later, even the
news in newspapers was controlled by the government. His era was ended in 1998 by a huge student
revolution and riots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the
reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor, a
province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era. The
referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province chose
the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation era
government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist
movements.
Even though Indonesia was led by a dictator during 1966 1998, there were still elections during the
period. The election at that time was to elect one of the three political parties to get their members as
new members of House of Representatives. Since there were only three political parties, each time
there was going to be an election, the campaigns never ended up in chaos and the election ended in
peace. After General Suharto was ousted in 1998, there was some kind of a party craze , everyone
intended to make their own political party, without any limitation from the government. Consequently,
in the 1999 election, people had to choose from 48 political parties. It could be imagined how a
country that was still very unstable after a revolution, had an election with tons of

The Enigma Of Capital And The Crisis Of Capitalism
A Critical Review of David Harvey s The Enigma of Capital and the Crisis of Capitalism Sudheer

The Enigma of Capital and the Crisis of Capitalism is a forum for author David Harvey to voice his
concerns on the contemporary global capitalist model. As a Marxist geographer and anthropologist,
Harvey analyzes modern capitalism through a lens of skepticism that results in a scathing renunciation
of the capitalist goals of perpetual accumulation and creative destruction. Harvey argues that in a
world constrained by scarce resources and burgeoning social barriers, the capitalist process produces a
strange dynamic that oscillates between periods of crisis and boom (40). In the end the capitalist may
be able to hedge against her losses, but the vast majority of the population will wallow in the
doldrums, enslaved by the power of capital and unable to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Such
is the extent of the problem we face in the wake of the Great Recession. The economy continues to
grow modestly, while median household income shrinks (Noss 2). The capitalists are reloading once
again at the expense of Main Street. As Harvey points out, there is a great need to reevaluate of our
views of modern capitalism. The Enigma of Capital is just a starting point.
Harvey begins his analysis of capitalism with a

Informative Speech On Phobias
PURPOSE
At the end of my speech, the audience will learn the three causes of phobias.
INTRODUCTION
A psychological literature reported a 9 year old Hispanic American boy who has the fear of buttons.
This problem results in the inability to dress himself and demonstrated poor performance in school
due to an excessive preoccupation with not touching his school uniform or touching anything that his
button touched. When he is at home, he avoided wearing clothes with buttons and prevents himself
from touching buttons that others wore. His fear of buttons begins when he accidently dropped a bowl
of buttons over himself when he was five years old.
Based on the book The Little Book of Phobias by Joe Kohut, some of the top phobias commonly seen

BODY OUTLINE
I. There are three causes of phobias
A. Phobias may be memories passed down genetically by ancestors
1. Memories can be transferred to one generation to another through gene transfers that allow
offspring to inherit the experience of their ancestors. The information is transferred biologically
through chemical changes that occur in the DNA. For example, the fear of arachnid like spiders, ticks
and mites and the defence mechanism develop from it may be inherited genetically.
2. Nature Neuroscience Journal published a research that shows a mouse trained to become scared of
cherry blossoms smell before they are allowed to breed, produce offspring that show the same fearful
response towards the cherry blossom although they only encounter it for the first time.
3. Dr Brian Dias from Emory University stated that their result enable them to understand how the
experience of their parents, before conceiving offspring can influence the structures and functions in
the nervous system of following generations
B. People can develop phobias from their past unpleasant

The Age Of Jackson And Jacksonian Democracy
A. The usual labels The Age of Jackson and Jacksonian Democracy analyze Andrew Jackson with the
age in which he lived and with the improvement of political democracy. This esteem may amplify his
importance, but it also endorses the important truth that Jackson extremely contributed to building the
American nation and its politics. Just as contemporaneous artists so regularly characterized him
astride his horse overlooking the battlefield, Jackson bestride some of the key streams of nineteenth
century American political life. Jackson gotten some precise education at district academies and
schools, and following the Revolution, he left the Waxhaw community to review law with two
outstanding members of the North Carolina bar. In the 1780s, after discovering few legal work in
North Carolina, he emigrated to Tennessee, where he displayed the good sense to classify himself with
the Blount Overton faction, a group of outstanding men bound together by politics, land conjecture,
and, progressively, financial and banking interests. Military positions also came Jackson s way, and he
constantly advanced from his appointment as judge defender for the Davidson County militia in 1792
to be elected dominant general of the Tennessee militia a decade later. Further, there were few clear
cut affair dividing the applicant. Instead, popular attention was apprehended by a host of defamatory
charges that pulled the contest down to the level of mud slinging. Rachel, for example, was implicated

What Is The Purpose Of Animals In Entertainment
Animals in Entertainment When people think of going to the circus, the first thing that they usually
think of is seeing animals doing amazing tricks that they wish their family cat or dog could do. The
thing that most people do not know, is that these animals are being treated very cruelly so that circus
owners can make money off of people coming to see these animals in action. All over the world,
animals are being used for the purpose of human entertainment. When going to the circus, most
people never stop and think about what really is happening to the animals featured in this form of
entertainment. Some people may even think that these animals are living a great life, they are always
being taken care of by humans, they have a place to live, and they never have to worry about predators
or finding their own prey. The truth is, the animals that are being utilized for the purpose of human
entertainment are living horrible lives and are not suited to live in the environments that they are being
placed in. Humans who are surrounding themselves with these animals also are putting themselves in
severe danger. The animals that are part of the circus are not supposed to be in captivity, they are
supposed to be living in the wild where they are able to fight and fend for themselves, not depend on
others to survive. Eventually, an animal s natural instincts will come out, forcing the animal to want to
attack and harm someone. What is worst about taking animals into captivity, is

The Cult Of Mithras And The Roman Empire
We may think that that cult origin by the fact that was taken from relevant scholars, but the early
development has remained consistently disputed. The Cult of Mithras began in the first century and it
was invented by the Roman Empire. When we think about the first century AD, Christianity is almost
very invisible during this time. The cult of Mithras development is mysterious. This religion is
invented by the Italians. Mithras provides members with sense of salvation if they proceed through the
seven stages of initiation, because the important aspect of the cult is that they must be successful, and
have spiritual bonding with their gods. If they do not success, they will face some consequences, but
members who follow this path will be rewarded and be offered compensation. In addition,
archaeological findings show that the Cult of Mithras does stay the same from the beginning of first
century to the end of fourth century AD. Archaeological evidence of the cult only depends on the
materials that existed during Roman Empire. One of the most important types of evidence that the
archaeological record shows is the nature and form of where these men worship, a Mithraeum . Much
of this worship buildings can be found in parts of Europe and they are mostly underground in a cave
and are constructed below an existing building. The first Mithraea and written first appear at the same
point in time, and clearly form part of the same cult even though they are found in geographically

San Francisco Is A Major City Of California And The United...
San francisco is a major city of California and the United States as a whole. A city with this much
power generally sets the score for other counties to follow. When San francisco undermines justice
with institutional biases, they set a dangerous example for others to follow. While San Francisco has
shown great strides to improve itself internally and externally, there are still major issues that need to
be addressed, specifically in their incarceration system. San Francisco has created a system where
minorities are more susceptible to being imprisoned due to the city s precarious handling of funds.
The San Francisco prison system hosted 1,556 citizens in the year 2013.[1] During that exact year,
56% of those citizens incarcerated were of African American descent, in a city where African
Americans make up a mere 6% of the total population.[1,2] Compare that to the city s majority race,
caucasians, who make up 41.6% of the city as a whole and accounted for only 22% percent of all
prisoners.[1,2] Looking at these statistics it could be assumed that racism is playing a role in this,
however there is one key factor that is so often lost when issues of race flare up. This factor is of
course, money.
San francisco has been the host of recent major technological booms which have brought increased
revenue into the city, but who s pockets is this money falling into? People often claim that police and
government officials target minorities, and while there is truth to this, would

Iraq War A Pragmatist
Unfortunately, the hawks views and previous actions in which they prevented the U.S. from agreeing
with or joining multilateral groups triggered a firestorm among foreign and domestic critics. To
differentiate, the pragmatists, or constructive realists, believed that the U.S. goals would be better
achieved by working within the post 1945 institutional framework that they had helped to build. They
knew that a unilateral military campaign would do irreparable damage to U.S. long term interests, and
that the results would be problematic. The United States would be in a stronger position to deal with
Iraq if it had carefully built up international support the pragmatists accepted that institutions such as

joined bush in multilateral action against Iraq, there would ve been guaranteed outside help for post
war reconstruction. In addition to that, because Congress risky sentiment was strongly in favor of prior
congressional authorization for any military action, going to the U.N. shared and balanced control and
over the situation. And it wasn t only congress who was feeling pressured to act aggressively. The
Democrats were uncomfortable with being called dovish, so they were reluctant to oppose military
action too ardently. Summed up, it seemed that many people were not in the proper mental state to
take such a critical decision. I think they were too ready to jump into war without a second thought. So
the U.N. would be able to detect and influence those thoughts to a more calm route and try to prevent
war, although it ended up unsuccessful.
I do think that the United States specifically was a different case from the other five great powers in
this time period. The U.S. had just experienced one of its worst terrorist attacks in history. So it had its
guard up for sure, unlike the other countries, who either were used to the terrorist issues or had not yet
dealt with an attack similar to that of

The Effects Of Reading Fluency On Reading Comprehension Essay
Introduction
Numerous experts have specified that a deficiency of reading fluency seems to be the area of extreme
impairment in reading. According to Huemer and Mann (2009), children with ASD have been reported
to show a disassociation between decoding and comprehension . Children with ASD usually have a
higher leverl of reading compared to their reading comprehension. Overall, the evidence suggests that
children with ASD have low levels of reading accuracy, which implicates weak decoding skills as
being one of the factors in reading comprehension deficits in ASD (Huemer and Mann).
National Reading Panel define fluency as reading text with speed, accuracy, and proper expression.
(2000, p. 3 1). Reading Fluency has three interdependent distinct elements which are accuracy, rate,
and prosody. Several decades of scientific research by National Institute of Child Health and Human
Development [NICHD], clearly shows effective reading instruction addresses five critical areas:
Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Research points out that
Reading Fluency helps build a bridge between basic word decoding and comprehension.
The baseline project will focus on Fluency. Fluency is identified by the words in a text rapidly and
accurately and using phrasing and emphasis in a way that makes what is read sound like spoken
language (NICHD report of 2000). The reasoning for fluency being important is research identified a
close relationship between

The Case Of Plessy V. Ferguson
Segregation is the enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or
establishment. During segregation people of different races had to ride in different rail cars and
attended separate schools. In two cases, Plessy V. Ferguson and Brown V. Bored of Education, the
Fourteenth Amendment was argued. The outcome of these two court cases effected African Americans
and their fight against segregation. These two court case are similar in their fight for a cause because
they challenged the meaning of the same law, but different in their outcome. The precedent separate

Ionic Compounds And Molecular Compounds
Introduction: Ionic compounds and molecular compounds are very different. These differences can be
used to distinguish one from another by using the main properties for each compound. For example, if
a substance could not conduct electricity and had low melting points, it would be labeled as a
molecular compound since those properties correspond directly with the properties of a molecular
compound. If a substance was able to conduct electricity and had high melting points, it would be
labeled as a ionic compound because those properties correspond directly with the properties of an
ionic compound. The differences in whether a substance has the ability to conduct electricity or not
and whether it has high or low melting temperatures can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Covalent compounds are the opposite. Instead, covalent bonds can melt very fast under heat. Also,
covalent compounds are not good conductors of electricity, whether in solid or liquid form. If you
have a substance, you can verify whether its an ionic compound or a covalent compound by seeing
whether it s a metal nonmetal relationship or nonmetal nonmetal relationship. The objective of the
experiment is to find out which of the known substances were ionic compounds and which were
molecular compounds based on their properties. We predict that the compounds with high melting
points and conduction of electricity would be ionic compounds because those are the specific
properties of an ionic compound. The compounds with low melting points and no conduction of
electricity would be covalent compounds because those are the specific properties of a covalent
compound. The solubility of the six compounds were checked when each compound was mixed in
water and the conductivity of electricity was tested with the electrodes. High and low melting points
were tested by putting different substances above a flame and seeing how long it took to melt. It was
found that three mystery compounds were ionic compounds while the other three mystery compounds
were molecular compounds. Materials and Methods : Before the experiment was initiated, qualitative
observations were taken for all six mystery compounds and recorded. Necessary precautions like

Past few decades have seen dramatic advances in the medical field which has increased the human life
span. Life expectancy of a human has gone upto 83 in some developed countries. Statistics released by
the Union ministry of health and family welfare show that life expectancy in India has gone up by five
years, from 62.3 years for males and 63.9 years for females in 2001 2005 to 67.3 years and 69.6 years
respectively in 2011 2015. Aged population lead an apparently healthy life with several diseases under
control. It is very common for a dentist to encounter such patients in their practice and every dentist
should be well informed to deal with such patients.
The burden of the cardiovascular disease in the Indian subcontinent is highest in the world. With
advanced tertiary healthcare system in India and increasing per capita income, it is common to see
several aged cardiac patients leading a good quality of life with the help of pacemakers, cardiac stents

King Lear Character Analysis
In Act III scene 7 of Shakespeare s King Lear, Gloucester returns to his castle after secretly guiding
Lear to safety. Gloucester hoped to avoid any confrontation by Cornwall and Regan, but his son
Edmund, betrayed him and revealed the information. When Gloucester finds Regan and Cornwall,
they accuse him of being a traitor. They are both enraged that he has disobeyed their orders by helping
Lear who was just kicked out during a terrible storm. After some interrogation by Regan, Gloucester
justifies his actions and explains he sided with Lear because he disapproves of Regan and Goneril s
cruelty towards Lear.

Gloucester, now aware of Regan s evil nature, wants to protect Lear from her. He is certain that Regan
would not hesitate to pluck out Lear s eyes given the chance. Gloucester implies it would be more
severe for Lear s eyes to be plucked out than his own beard. Eyes are much more vital and it would
also be significantly more painful to have them gouged out than to have one s beard plucked out. Most
importantly, Gloucester specifically describes Lear s eyes as poor old eyes. Illustrating Lear s eyes as
poor old eyes signifies how Gloucester sympathizes with him. It is clear he is very saddened to see his
friend treated so horribly. Gloucester also acknowledges Lear is getting older and with old age, one s
health such as eyesight can worsen or become poor. However, Gloucester understands Lear s age is all
the more reason why he should be respected, unlike Regan and Goneril.
After Gloucester finishes criticizing Regan, it is clear that his hostility towards Regan also applies to
her sister, Goneril. Gloucester s comments on Goneril are even harsher than Regan s. For example, in
the speech, Gloucester doesn t even refer to her as Goneril, but instead as thy fierce sister. Gloucester
thinks so poorly of Goneril that he does not believe she deserves enough respect to be addressed by
her own name. When Gloucester calls Goneril fierce, it describes her cruel nature. He views her as a
savage human because only a person so vicious would abuse

Gilded Age Essay
Gilded is defined as having a golden appearance concealing something that has little to no worth
underneath. During the Gilded Age, the wealthy companies were able to accumulate a surplus amount
of wealth and large profits. Since companies are trying to make as much profit as possible. Often
times, companies will try to cut corners and not spend money towards its employees that way the
industry can reep most the benefits from the profit. Although, this can usually make matters worse and
be counterproductive to solving the issues at hand regarding the employees. Many people were
dramatically affected by the changes made to ensure companies obtain the most profit. When an
individual person informed their employer of an issue it was often overlooked thus leading to the
creation of unions. These unions gave individuals the power of numbers. Laborers began standing
together to fight for their rights. The unions created specific strategies pertaining to each member to
help protect the laborers rights. The American Federation of Labor and the Industrial Workers of the
World created strategies to help their members obtain better treatment from the companies.
In 1886, the American Federation of Labor was created by combining 25 craft unions filled with only
skilled workers. The significance of only allowing skilled workers within the group was to ensure that
workers could keep their identity. The skilled workers identity was that they brought a skill to the table

gets infuriated and decides to catch the culprit and hence, do justice. Though, aware of the
consequences of such posse, they agree to be a part of it because now they had someone to blame on if
something went wrong. There were people in the posse who opposed the lynching but any way went

Lynch mob as a literal concept is self evident. Clark uses the mob as a form of criticism against the
lynching that occurred in 1870 s to 1960 s in the southern United States against the African American
citizens. He also uses it to symbolise the corruption and the power play of the white in establishing the

At one level, it deals with the inadequacies of the law in addressing to the question of justice and at
the same time highlights the importance of the law in a society as even in presence of inadequacies,
law is needed as it is better than a state of lawlessness.
Another interesting view put forth is that justice may not necessarily mean taking revenge and
punishing those who go against the society but it means that in doing so, the innocent must not suffer
and that every accused must be given an opportunity to fair trial and fair procedure in determination of
their guilt.
It also deals with the questions of morality and psychology of a person who assumes the position of

1. What you want to bet? I kind of thought Henry would marry her one of these days. That old
woman? Well, Henry is no chicken. No, but he ain t no buzzard either (Morrison 14). Henry
Washington is a nice and patient person. He is the MacTeer s boarder. He is a good worker and
Claudia always makes fun of him just because he is not married yet. That is ok but apparently she
wants him to get married so badly. 2. Her eyes look like snot. I don t feel like looking at them. What
do you want to do, Pecola? (Morrison 26). Frieda is a stubborn person and has always made fun of
Pecola s eye color. Pecola is called names because she doesn t have blue eyes as she wished and

How Did Martin Luther King Jr Dream
Growing up Martin Luther King. Jr had a happy middle class life, but even with all of this he still
noticed social problems. His father was a respected preacher, his mother was a college educated
musician, and his grandmother, who lived with them, was extremely fond of him. He was also close to
his older sister and younger brother, who started college at fifteen. When he was younger, he had to
experience long bread lines. He also learned about racial discrimination at six, when then neighbors
stop playing with him. When he went to his mother to ask, his mother told him, you are as good as
anyone, as it says in Heeding the Call by Diana Childress. When Martin Luther Jr. went with his dad
to get shoes, the salesman told him to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had to stand in the aisle for the ninety mile trip This made King very deeply angry. Even though
his first plan was to become a doctor, he then decided to major in sociology, where he learned more
about the racial issues. After he still wanted to further his knowledge in theology. He would read about
Walter Rauschenbush, Mohandas Gandhi, and Reinhold Niebuhr. All of these people were against
racism and influenced Martin Luther about racism and what to do. Even after coming first in his class,
he still wanted to further his knowledge in philosophy and doctorate it. He went to Boston further to
accomplish his goal, where he met the love of his life, Coretta Scott. After finishing his course and
getting married, they decided to go back to the South. This was a very fateful decision they took. After
Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, the African American community was ready to take
action and chose Martin Luther King Jr. to lead their protests. He started to join the African American
community and he started to go on marches and boycotts. All of these ideas came from his readings of
Mohandas Gandhi. He had a different way to get what he wanted, Gandhi would boycott and go on
marches. This influenced King greatly. After all of this he would give speeches and talk

I had the typical signs of hating myself and feeling worthless. It was very hard to continue living on
like everyone else since I was fighting myself internally all day long. I m sure a lot of people go
through some sort of depression in their lives. Luckily, I could say that I didn t have severe depression
like many others suffer from. However, I did struggle every day to stay sane. It was very hard to stay
focused in school and to socialize with friends and family. Eventually, I did get past my depression. I
realized one day how bad my depression had gotten and I started to become aware that I needed to
change. While it may not have worked for a lot of people, I healed myself. I started to appreciate
everything in life that we take for granted. Like waking up healthy and not having to worry about
bombs or landmines like some do in countries like Syria. I started to understand that I have a better
life than a huge chunk of others around the world. Being able to be born in a country like ours,
experiencing the things I have experienced, I started to tell myself I have no excuse to be sad about
anything, I did not have that right when so many others have so much worse than me. Anyways what I
can say about battling my internal war is that it was a version of Hell that I hope to never have to go

Jacque And Verbal Altercation
On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at approximately 2332 hours, I responded to Kroger, 1745 Highway 138,
for an altercation in the parking lot. Upon my arrival I noticed a female, Ashley Franks, involved in
verbal altercation with a male, Jacque Carter, inside a Kia Sorento, Ga tag number PFJ3945. I exited
my vehicle and met with the victim/complainant Franks. Franks advised me a physical altercation had
taken place inside of the vehicle and Carter had hit/bumped her in the course of the altercation. While
Franks gave detail description about the course of events, I noticed that she was very upset and
disgruntled. There was no physical evidence that indicated and physical altercation had taken place.
Franks stated she needed medical attention because she had high blood pressure. While we waited for
medical personnel to arrive, I conducted a field interview with the individuals at the location. ... Show

attacking her. Franks then noticed that Carter became upset and grabbed her bag and tossed them in
the parking lot. A witness statement was written by Franks and placed into the

The Separation Of Foam Separation
Foam separation techniques are neither much widely used nor much research have been done in this
area lately. But due to the high selectivity, thermal stability and the ability to separate components
from very dilute solutions (as low as 10 10 mole/liter), it is worth being applied as modern separation
and purification techniques. Particulates that are to be separated from solution are associated with
surfactants and are adsorbed at the liquid air interface. Interaction energy between the nonpolar
hydrocarbon chains of the surfactant and the polar water molecules is less than the interaction energy
between water molecules themselves leading to organic molecules in bulk water to be energetically
less favorable than their presence out of the bulk water at the interface. Foam fractionation, ionic
flotation, molecular flotation, microflotation, froth flotation these diverse types of foam separation
techniques allow the separation and purification of a wide variety of components starting from
detergents to heavy metal ions and proteins.
Gibbs adsorption isotherm, Young Laplace equation, Langmuir isotherm control the separation
parameters. The easy apparatus setting and simplistic separation process leads to its utilization in
analytical purposes and economically feasible industrial set up. Various variables like ionic strength,
length of chain, concentration of surfactants, Solution hydrogen concentration, flocculants,
concentration of complexing ions, flow rate of gas,

A Job As A Pharmacist
You will never know whether you like that job or not until you really have a chance to observe and get
to know by yourself. Thanks God that I love it, but it s not an easy job anyway. My Aunt Mrs. Chi
Tran really means it when she talks about her job as a Pharmacist. Her passion for a job always
inspires me to follow my career as a pharmacist, and to be someone like her. However, I have never
had a chance to see her at work. So this time, I decided to sleep over to have a full view of her
working day. Eight hours being totally concentrated and carefully review more than 100 prescriptions
without any mistake is what she has to do every day. However, that is just a part of this job. Being a
Pharmacist is totally not as easy as I thought.
After ten years working for CVS Pharmacy, my aunt asked for working at home to take care of her
children. CVS was really nice that they gave her an opportunity to have a work life balance with the
condition that she had to work at really early in the morning. It has to be exactly 3:00 am every
morning. To interview her, I tried to wake up 2:30, made her a cup of coffee and tried to have a quick
chat before she got started. CVS let me work at home because no one wants to wake up that early in
the morning to review all the prescriptions other than me. I can do everything to have more time with
my children. She took a mouthful of coffee and smiled: However, working at home under the
supervision of a computer is much more stressful than

Poverty And Its Effects On Society
Poverty is one of the concepts that are created through corruption. Poverty is defined as a situation in
which a person s income is inadequate to provide the necessities of life. This is apparent through the
work of slaves as they mine diamonds without pay. They are threatened and forced to mine diamonds
or else they will be killed or harmed in other ways. The companies such as Van De Kaap are
exploiting workers as they are able to mine diamonds through free labour. Solomon Vandy, one of the

They can hardly afford water and food for not only their family but themselves. If they can barely live
with this, how can they start a family and have the proper materials to live a better life? Lack of food
and education are problems that these miners in this country face.
In terms of mining diamonds on small scale, they are generally unregulated activity and often has no
laws since they the work is done independently and privately rather than through a formal company.
Many of these miners do not have a license nor have access to global markets thus limiting their
bargaining power and having limited to no leverage thus forcing them to sell the diamonds to middle
men which are way below market prices. (Brilliant Earth, 2016)
In the Lorenz curve (Graph 1), it shows that he further away a point is from the straight line drawn
from point (0, 0) and (100,100) than the points are representing perfect inequality. As the Lorenz curve
is closer to the curve it represents perfect equality and more equally incomes are distributed.
Curves B and C show more and more skewed income to the percentage of households. Curve C would
most likely display what is going on in Africa through the exploitation of conflict diamonds. The
reason for this is because those that mine the diamonds are paid so little thus belonging in the lower
levels of cumulative share of income.

Irish Impact On Traditional Music

style of playing in order for it to be associated with the Irish style of playing. As Irish traditional music

crucial element of its particular genre. It might be said that the very construction of the accordion was
suited to these elements particularly well especially the rhythmic element. As the same dance tunes
that could be played on fiddles and pipes were played on the accordion and could still sound the same
even though their sound was in two completely different dialects. Also the dynamic capability of the

  • 2. Synthesis Essay On Drinking And Driving I am going to look at Drinking and Driving and Texting while Driving, in order to find out how hazardous both are and how laws have been enforced, because it will address all drivers how fatal drinking and distracted driving can be. Drinking and driving is an important issue for all drivers across America. Driver s not only need to be aware of drunk drivers, but also need to be able to detect a distractive driver. Getting behind a wheel while drunk or even texting can change someone s life in a split second. Not only are the drivers life at stake, but they passengers and other drivers at risk for their negligent driving. Laws have been enforced to for those who drive while under the influence and those who use a cellular device, but it cannot always be stopped. There are too many drivers on the road compared to law enforcement. Majority of drivers do get distracted, they believe they can multi task, and they believe they are ok to get behind the wheel and drive home. There are many reasons as to why a driver would drive drunk and many reasons a driver would state as to why he/she was texting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These statistics and the articles written, will expose all drivers to think twice. If one just so happens to be a passenger, speak up when felt uncomfortable. Majority of us feel that while we are intoxicated, or distracted, things will be fine, but we don t necessarily think of the consequences. Many drivers find it hard to resist responding to a text message and don t realize how long their eyes are off the road. It is easy to get behind a wheel while intoxicated and it is easy to text and drive. I think learning more about drinking while driving and becoming a distracted driver is a great opportunity to share with drivers and open their minds. I hope to find evidence that will help me do exactly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight in Indonesia Dictatorship to Democracy Overnight Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia that was under a military dictatorship for 32 years. The dictatorship era started after the failure of communist coup d état by Indonesia s Communist Party in 1966. General Suharto, the one who had the biggest role in failing the coup d état, ousted the first president and established an autocratic anti communist regime known as the New Order, which attracted political and economic support from Western governments during the Cold War. At the beginning of this era, he said he would practice a kind of semi direct democracy, while later, even the news in newspapers was controlled by the government. His era was ended in 1998 by a huge student revolution and riots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In contrast to the New Order era government s reaction to separatist movements in Indonesia, the reformation era government in its early days made a mistake by giving a referendum to East Timor, a province in central Indonesia that had longed to form its own country since the New Order era. The referendum was to stay with Indonesia or to stand as an independent country, and the province chose the latter choice. This influenced other provinces that are not satisfied with the reformation era government due to the centralized development in certain parts of the country to start separatist movements. Even though Indonesia was led by a dictator during 1966 1998, there were still elections during the period. The election at that time was to elect one of the three political parties to get their members as new members of House of Representatives. Since there were only three political parties, each time there was going to be an election, the campaigns never ended up in chaos and the election ended in peace. After General Suharto was ousted in 1998, there was some kind of a party craze , everyone intended to make their own political party, without any limitation from the government. Consequently, in the 1999 election, people had to choose from 48 political parties. It could be imagined how a country that was still very unstable after a revolution, had an election with tons of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Enigma Of Capital And The Crisis Of Capitalism A Critical Review of David Harvey s The Enigma of Capital and the Crisis of Capitalism Sudheer Vemuru Economics 490 10 November, 2014 In writing this paper, I have abided by the Honor Code at UNC Chapel Hill. Signature:____________________ ______________________ The Enigma of Capital and the Crisis of Capitalism is a forum for author David Harvey to voice his concerns on the contemporary global capitalist model. As a Marxist geographer and anthropologist, Harvey analyzes modern capitalism through a lens of skepticism that results in a scathing renunciation of the capitalist goals of perpetual accumulation and creative destruction. Harvey argues that in a world constrained by scarce resources and burgeoning social barriers, the capitalist process produces a strange dynamic that oscillates between periods of crisis and boom (40). In the end the capitalist may be able to hedge against her losses, but the vast majority of the population will wallow in the doldrums, enslaved by the power of capital and unable to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Such is the extent of the problem we face in the wake of the Great Recession. The economy continues to grow modestly, while median household income shrinks (Noss 2). The capitalists are reloading once again at the expense of Main Street. As Harvey points out, there is a great need to reevaluate of our views of modern capitalism. The Enigma of Capital is just a starting point. Harvey begins his analysis of capitalism with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Age Of Jackson And Jacksonian Democracy A. The usual labels The Age of Jackson and Jacksonian Democracy analyze Andrew Jackson with the age in which he lived and with the improvement of political democracy. This esteem may amplify his importance, but it also endorses the important truth that Jackson extremely contributed to building the American nation and its politics. Just as contemporaneous artists so regularly characterized him astride his horse overlooking the battlefield, Jackson bestride some of the key streams of nineteenth century American political life. Jackson gotten some precise education at district academies and schools, and following the Revolution, he left the Waxhaw community to review law with two outstanding members of the North Carolina bar. In the 1780s, after discovering few legal work in North Carolina, he emigrated to Tennessee, where he displayed the good sense to classify himself with the Blount Overton faction, a group of outstanding men bound together by politics, land conjecture, and, progressively, financial and banking interests. Military positions also came Jackson s way, and he constantly advanced from his appointment as judge defender for the Davidson County militia in 1792 to be elected dominant general of the Tennessee militia a decade later. Further, there were few clear cut affair dividing the applicant. Instead, popular attention was apprehended by a host of defamatory charges that pulled the contest down to the level of mud slinging. • 9. What Is The Purpose Of Animals In Entertainment Animals in Entertainment When people think of going to the circus, the first thing that they usually think of is seeing animals doing amazing tricks that they wish their family cat or dog could do. The thing that most people do not know, is that these animals are being treated very cruelly so that circus owners can make money off of people coming to see these animals in action. All over the world, animals are being used for the purpose of human entertainment. When going to the circus, most people never stop and think about what really is happening to the animals featured in this form of entertainment. Some people may even think that these animals are living a great life, they are always being taken care of by humans, they have a place to live, and they never have to worry about predators or finding their own prey. The truth is, the animals that are being utilized for the purpose of human entertainment are living horrible lives and are not suited to live in the environments that they are being placed in. Humans who are surrounding themselves with these animals also are putting themselves in severe danger. The animals that are part of the circus are not supposed to be in captivity, they are supposed to be living in the wild where they are able to fight and fend for themselves, not depend on others to survive. Eventually, an animal s natural instincts will come out, forcing the animal to want to attack and harm someone. What is worst about taking animals into captivity, is ... • 10. The Cult Of Mithras And The Roman Empire We may think that that cult origin by the fact that was taken from relevant scholars, but the early development has remained consistently disputed. The Cult of Mithras began in the first century and it was invented by the Roman Empire. When we think about the first century AD, Christianity is almost very invisible during this time. The cult of Mithras development is mysterious. This religion is invented by the Italians. Mithras provides members with sense of salvation if they proceed through the seven stages of initiation, because the important aspect of the cult is that they must be successful, and have spiritual bonding with their gods. If they do not success, they will face some consequences, but members who follow this path will be rewarded and be offered compensation. In addition, archaeological findings show that the Cult of Mithras does stay the same from the beginning of first century to the end of fourth century AD. Archaeological evidence of the cult only depends on the materials that existed during Roman Empire. One of the most important types of evidence that the archaeological record shows is the nature and form of where these men worship, a Mithraeum . Much of this worship buildings can be found in parts of Europe and they are mostly underground in a cave and are constructed below an existing building. • 11. San Francisco Is A Major City Of California And The United... San francisco is a major city of California and the United States as a whole. A city with this much power generally sets the score for other counties to follow. When San francisco undermines justice with institutional biases, they set a dangerous example for others to follow. While San Francisco has shown great strides to improve itself internally and externally, there are still major issues that need to be addressed, specifically in their incarceration system. San Francisco has created a system where minorities are more susceptible to being imprisoned due to the city s precarious handling of funds. The San Francisco prison system hosted 1,556 citizens in the year 2013.[1] During that exact year, 56% of those citizens incarcerated were of African American descent, in a city where African Americans make up a mere 6% of the total population.[1,2] Compare that to the city s majority race, caucasians, who make up 41.6% of the city as a whole and accounted for only 22% percent of all prisoners.[1,2] Looking at these statistics it could be assumed that racism is playing a role in this, however there is one key factor that is so often lost when issues of race flare up. This factor is of course, money. San francisco has been the host of recent major technological booms which have brought increased revenue into the city, but who s pockets is this money falling into? People often claim that police and government officials target minorities, and while there is truth to this, would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Iraq War A Pragmatist Unfortunately, the hawks views and previous actions in which they prevented the U.S. from agreeing with or joining multilateral groups triggered a firestorm among foreign and domestic critics. To differentiate, the pragmatists, or constructive realists, believed that the U.S. goals would be better achieved by working within the post 1945 institutional framework that they had helped to build. They knew that a unilateral military campaign would do irreparable damage to U.S. long term interests, and that the results would be problematic. In addition to that, because Congress risky sentiment was strongly in favor of prior congressional authorization for any military action, going to the U.N. shared and balanced control and over the situation. And it wasn t only congress who was feeling pressured to act aggressively. The Democrats were uncomfortable with being called dovish, so they were reluctant to oppose military action too ardently. Summed up, it seemed that many people were not in the proper mental state to take such a critical decision. I think they were too ready to jump into war without a second thought. So the U.N. would be able to detect and influence those thoughts to a more calm route and try to prevent war, although it ended up unsuccessful. I do think that the United States specifically was a different case from the other five great powers in this time period. The U.S. had just experienced one of its worst terrorist attacks in history. • 13. The Effects Of Reading Fluency On Reading Comprehension Essay Introduction Numerous experts have specified that a deficiency of reading fluency seems to be the area of extreme impairment in reading. According to Huemer and Mann (2009), children with ASD have been reported to show a disassociation between decoding and comprehension . Children with ASD usually have a higher leverl of reading compared to their reading comprehension. Overall, the evidence suggests that children with ASD have low levels of reading accuracy, which implicates weak decoding skills as being one of the factors in reading comprehension deficits in ASD (Huemer and Mann). National Reading Panel define fluency as reading text with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. (2000, p. 3 1). Reading Fluency has three interdependent distinct elements which are accuracy, rate, and prosody. Several decades of scientific research by National Institute of Child Health and Human Development [NICHD], clearly shows effective reading instruction addresses five critical areas: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Research points out that Reading Fluency helps build a bridge between basic word decoding and comprehension. The baseline project will focus on Fluency. Fluency is identified by the words in a text rapidly and accurately and using phrasing and emphasis in a way that makes what is read sound like spoken language (NICHD report of 2000). The reasoning for fluency being important is research identified a close relationship between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Ionic Compounds And Molecular Compounds Introduction: Ionic compounds and molecular compounds are very different. These differences can be used to distinguish one from another by using the main properties for each compound. For example, if a substance could not conduct electricity and had low melting points, it would be labeled as a molecular compound since those properties correspond directly with the properties of a molecular compound. If a substance was able to conduct electricity and had high melting points, it would be labeled as a ionic compound because those properties correspond directly with the properties of an ionic compound. The differences in whether a substance has the ability to conduct electricity or not and whether it has high or low melting temperatures can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Covalent compounds are the opposite. Instead, covalent bonds can melt very fast under heat. Also, covalent compounds are not good conductors of electricity, whether in solid or liquid form. If you have a substance, you can verify whether its an ionic compound or a covalent compound by seeing whether it s a metal nonmetal relationship or nonmetal nonmetal relationship. The objective of the experiment is to find out which of the known substances were ionic compounds and which were molecular compounds based on their properties. We predict that the compounds with high melting points and conduction of electricity would be ionic compounds because those are the specific properties of an ionic compound. The compounds with low melting points and no conduction of electricity would be covalent compounds because those are the specific properties of a covalent compound. The solubility of the six compounds were checked when each compound was mixed in water and the conductivity of electricity was tested with the electrodes. High and low melting points were tested by putting different substances above a flame and seeing how long it took to melt. It was found that three mystery compounds were ionic compounds while the other three mystery compounds were molecular compounds. Materials and Methods : Before the experiment was initiated, qualitative observations were taken for all six mystery compounds and recorded. Necessary precautions like wearing safety ... Gloucester hoped to avoid any confrontation by Cornwall and Regan, but his son Edmund, betrayed him and revealed the information. When Gloucester finds Regan and Cornwall, they accuse him of being a traitor. They are both enraged that he has disobeyed their orders by helping Lear who was just kicked out during a terrible storm. After some interrogation by Regan, Gloucester justifies his actions and explains he sided with Lear because he disapproves of Regan and Goneril s cruelty towards Lear. Gloucester, now aware of Regan s evil nature, wants to protect Lear from her. He is certain that Regan would not hesitate to pluck out Lear s eyes given the chance. Gloucester implies it would be more severe for Lear s eyes to be plucked out than his own beard. Eyes are much more vital and it would also be significantly more painful to have them gouged out than to have one s beard plucked out. Most importantly, Gloucester specifically describes Lear s eyes as poor old eyes. Illustrating Lear s eyes as poor old eyes signifies how Gloucester sympathizes with him. It is clear he is very saddened to see his friend treated so horribly. Gloucester also acknowledges Lear is getting older and with old age, one s health such as eyesight can worsen or become poor. However, Gloucester understands Lear s age is all the more reason why he should be respected, unlike Regan and Goneril. After Gloucester finishes criticizing Regan, it is clear that his hostility towards Regan also applies to her sister, Goneril. Gloucester s comments on Goneril are even harsher than Regan s. For example, in the speech, Gloucester doesn t even refer to her as Goneril, but instead as thy fierce sister. Gloucester thinks so poorly of Goneril that he does not believe she deserves enough respect to be addressed by her own name. When Gloucester calls Goneril fierce, it describes her cruel nature. • 25. The Separation Of Foam Separation Foam separation techniques are neither much widely used nor much research have been done in this area lately. But due to the high selectivity, thermal stability and the ability to separate components from very dilute solutions (as low as 10 10 mole/liter), it is worth being applied as modern separation and purification techniques. Particulates that are to be separated from solution are associated with surfactants and are adsorbed at the liquid air interface. Interaction energy between the nonpolar hydrocarbon chains of the surfactant and the polar water molecules is less than the interaction energy between water molecules themselves leading to organic molecules in bulk water to be energetically less favorable than their presence out of the bulk water at the interface. Foam fractionation, ionic flotation, molecular flotation, microflotation, froth flotation these diverse types of foam separation techniques allow the separation and purification of a wide variety of components starting from detergents to heavy metal ions and proteins. Gibbs adsorption isotherm, Young Laplace equation, Langmuir isotherm control the separation parameters.
