Fear Of Manipulating A Spinal Injury
Focusing my attention back on the PL, I moved to check the one place unseen and began
removing his helmet. His head was protected, but tilting his chin back was one thing I didn t
want to do for fear of manipulating a spinal injury. It also is what finally exposed and opened the
small hole in his throat from an apparent piece of shrapnel and he began to bleed profusely. I
immediately called the medic away from one of the less seriously wounded to help me with the
bleeding. I packed the wound but loosely, not wanting to interfere with what was left of his airway
and then pulled him up to my lap so I could maintain pressure on the wound. He was still dying.
Running out of options, I checked his airway again and manipulated his tongue... Show more

Shortly thereafter, he regained life signs and consciousness, attempting to sit up even. I called
for a litter and directed he be secured and ready to move, meanwhile contacting the Command
Post to provide a situation report and moving to check on other casualties at the CCP. At this
time I had twelve that needed evacuation and eight more walking wounded. There were barely
enough lucid Soldiers to pull security, but my biggest problem was that the QRF had not
arrived yet. Searching for an improvised solution for the PL who I believed was expectant at
this point, I saw an Afghan National Army truck parked nearby with a driver who seemed as
though he was trying to help. I directed that the PL be loaded onto the back of the pickup truck
with two ambulatory Soldiers who could pull security on both the surroundings and the driver. I
sent the medic to monitor his airway. The interpreter conveyed my directions to the driver to take
the Soldiers straight to our Entry Control Point at the AP, and I instructed the PL s security to take
the vehicle by any means necessary if the driver did not follow directions. Our Platoon Leader was
now conscious and responsive, and I told him where he was going and why. Less than fifteen
minutes after the attack, the PL and his fight for life was on his way to next level care. As the
truck pulled off our 3rd Platoon arrived as QRF.
The QRF medic took over where ours had left off. All the casualties were stable and

Written Scripture Analysis
written Scripture. However, Jesus took a different view and called the laws the tradition of men
(Mark 7:1 23; Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001).
An estimated four million Jews lived in the Roman Empire, but only an estimated 700,000 lived in
Palestine. A larger population of Jews lived in Alexandria and Syria. Gentiles outnumbered Jews in
Decapolis and Galilee (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001). Languages
spoken in Palestine were Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew and it is likely that Jesus and His disciples
were trilingual. Transportation was mainly conducted on waterways. Other than the Roman roads,
the road system was poor (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001).

Women traveled with Jesus and the apostles not as marriage partners, but as fellow disciples in

decades in the early church and mentioned by the Apostle Paul several times in his writings.
Kroeger and Kroger (2012) asserts that modern historians neglect to recognize that women were
prominent members and benefactors of the early church and furthermore implies that studies on the
early church be more inclusive of the roles played by the female leadership. Christian and secular
writers credited women with the growth of the church (Krueger and Kroger,

Once The Wart Character Analysis
The Wart walked up to the great sword for the third time. He put out his right arm softly and drew
it out as gently from a scabbard. (198). The Wart, a nickname for soon to be King Arthur was a
modest, curious, young boy who was into adventure. Once the Wart was crowned king, he was
named King Arthur. King Arthurgrew from a timid boy to become a strong ruler with the help of
his tutor Merlyn. The theme of might and right that recurred several times was based on Arthur.
The Wart was always good hearted both young and old, but when he pulled the sword from the
stone he had to apply all his lessons and morals to his rule. T.H. White uses might and right to
prove that Arthur is exceptional for his devotion and belief in Merlyn s ideas. Instead,... Show more

Arthur is a successful king, because he worked hard to understand Merlyn s morals and apply it
to his own system of governance. In order to obtain great power like Arthur did, you need might.
Arthur utters his explanation through a few words saying, Why can t you harness Might so that
it works for right? I know it sounds nonsense, but, I mean, you can t just say there is no such
thing. The Might is there, in the bad half of people, and you can t neglect it. You can t cut it out,
but you might be able to direct it, if you see what I mean, so that it was useful instead of bad.
(241). This quote shows that T.H. White proves force to equal justice and that Arthur can make a
seperation between power and justice. Arthur is remembered for his image of a civilized society,
and not for his role on the battlefield. He notices the good and bad of common people and allows
them to equal each other out. For example, under King Arthur s rule, Knights are allowed to fight
for a reason, but not for pity fun. Arthur uses Merlyn s knowledge from the lessons and turning into
multiple creatures to maintain a just political system with a progressive civilization. All of his
encounters with the warlike ants and the wise badger taught him to find might equals right. He
grew to believe in doing what is right and that everything in his society is considered right. His

How To Write An Autobiography Of Savannah
Early in the morning on the African savannah the sun begins to emerge from the horizon. The
morning sun continues to rise turning the sky a beautiful blood orange color. All types of animals
are called to attention by an African tribal chant; Nants ingonyama bagithi baba!
Groups of animals emerge from the thick fog walking across the grassy savannah. A flock of
flamingos fly across the still crystal water. Herds of antelope hop like frogs through the morning
mist. Meanwhile, a mother giraffe and her calf walk out from the shadows into the warm sunlight.
They stand on a grassy hill and notice below them groups of animals walking in the same
direction. They prance down the hill eager to join them. As they do this, a colonel of red ants
walk gracefully across a stick carrying large leaves. Below them, a large ... Show more content on

stomp up the hill loudly, their giant feet bringing up more and more thick clouds of dust with

animals gather. Zazu, a small blue bird with a large orange beak flies to the ledge. He bows with
gratitude to Mufasa, a strong powerful lion with a thick red mane. Emerging from the crowd of
animals Rafiki, an elderly baboon with white hair, slowly climbs up the ledge. He hugs Mufasa
warmly. They walk back to a cave where Mufasa s wife Surabhi is cradling a tiny lion cub.
Mufasa and Surabhi rubs their heads together showing their love for each other. Surabhi licks
Simba s head gingerly waking up the napping lion cub. Smiling, Rafiki bends over Simba shaking

Deviance In The Governor Square Mall
Observing Deviance in the Governor Square Mall Brittaney French While observing deviance,
one will realize deviance comes in many forms of behaviors and characteristics. Most think of
deviance a bad behavior, which is true, but deviance is much more boarder than that. Deviance
can be defined in many different ways, however according to (Adler 2012), deviance is the
violation of social norms. (p.11) To get a better understanding, Norms is considered as a way of
life for many people, basically what is acceptable in society s eyes. There are three types of norms,

I noticed a lot people that were coughing, sneezing, and nose blowing without covering their
mouths or washing their hands, seemly to be the most popular in this surrounding. Many people
didn t say much to the perpetrator but from the looks, body language, and actions, I could tell
people were disgusted by the lack of manners others had. On many occurrences, when someone
coughs, sneezes or blows their nose, while others were eating or ordering their food, they would
roll their eyes or look at the person in disgust. I even witnessed a couple get up and leave the
mall in a rage because someone sneezed near them without covering their mouth. The incident I
will never forget, was one lady advised a young man, who coughed without covering his mouth,
that he should cover he should do so, which left me in shock. Of everyone that was in the food
court, women were more so the ones who were offended by people coughing, sneezing or blowing
their noses without covering their mouth or washing their hands. These types of careless acts puts
others at risks of coming in contact with your germs possible causing people to get sick. These
particular behaviors are in violation of the folkways, causing one to lack traditions, etiquette, and
customs. In short, not using your manners, like covering your mouth or being courteous of others.
According to (Adler 2012), violations of folkways norms do not generate serious outrage, but might
cause people to think of the violator odd.

Bruce Tuckman s Stages Of Team Development
Grow your Team With Team Development Techniques
The team development model of:
Forming Storming Norming Performing was proposed in 1965 by American psychologist Bruce
Tuckman.
The Forming Storming Norming Performing model describes a set of stages in training that a group
must go through in order to be able to achieve maximum potential.
As the name implies, the Forming Storming Norming Performing model show the four ordered
stages a team must go through before they become like a well oiled machine.
Forming
The first stage of training, forming, is when the team is just getting to know each other. Each has
his or her own ideas, which are usually independent of the other. There is minimum cooperation and
integration of ideas. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is when the concept of Forming Storming Norming Performing is introduced to the team.
Storming
This is the stage where the concepts of each member come together for the first time. This is where
members of the team experience their ideas being criticized, improved, and commented on by their
colleagues.
Storming not only refers to the concept of brainstorming , but also to the stormy stage of team
development.
Some immature members will not appreciate their ideas being criticized, and their behavior might
serve as a deterrent for the team to move on to the next stage of thier development.
It s up to the supervisor or team leader to decide how to deal with this kind of attitude.
Norming
Once the stormy phase is over the team reaches the stage where they start to work together
collectively. They re more familiar with each other s attitudes, work ethics, and tastes in terms of
ideas and work output.
What you should look out for in this phase, is the tendency for team members to completely lose
their individual tastes and ideas, and slowly become accustomed to agreeing with each other all the

You will see in the included Python file that I included an array of stop words which I built based
on one of the many suggested lists of stop words you can find online (List of Stop Words, 2018). I
also included an array of punctuation used to identify any tokens that started with any punctuation.
I created two dictionaries to keep track of the terms and documents with an associated ID. Starting
at line 424, is the code to perform the token stemming, removal of stop words, and removal of
tokens that start with punctuation. As part of this, I tracked the number of unique terms that were
removed by the stop words and also added code to output a .dat file of the stopped words. I also had
this stop and punctuation.dat file include the tokens that were removed for punctuation. The
punctuation tokens were not tracked as unique stop words that were removed and reported along

Reflective Essay On A Council Meeting
On Monday, November 20th 2017, I attended the City of Atlanta s council meeting while visiting
my friend for the holidays. I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of
student government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was
confusing enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting.
The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members.
The room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had
been called the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and
the council felt the need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very
important to the council and they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very
positive roles in the community. The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women
over the previous weekend. Prayers were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It
was stated that the city is doing everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and
apprehend the killer. The third person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta
community, who was a dear friend to many of the council members. We then observed a moment of
silence for all those previously mentioned.
At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I
have attended. I was used to

T Ball-Personal Narrative
Have you ever watched a game of T ball? You re watching kids with hats far too big for their
heads, or bats too heavy for their arms to swing; it is adorable. I was one of those kids, and
during a T ball game the first signs of an issue that would haunt me for years to come appeared.
In the dugout during a t ball game, I was sitting on a bench waiting to go up to bat. A teammate
asked me if the player currently up to bat was my brother. I turned to him and said, That is my
brodder. He looked confused and responded with He is your budder? No, I countered, He is my
broffer. With an even more confused look he asked me again, He is your buffer? Now I was
annoyed. I thought I sounded normal, but he was looking at me like I had a third eye. He. is. My.
broffer! I said, exaggerating the word slowly and condescendingly. That is where the memory cuts
off. I don t remember whether he finally understood what I was trying to say, or if I just gave up in
frustration. Although this casual conversation may seem like a one timething, it was not. My
mispronunciation problem would follow me into fruition.
After this event I would simply say, bro because I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Grumpy Duramy Short Story
Long, long ago, in the mystical kingdom of Muampa, there lived a rather crotchety egg who wasn
t typically sunny side up. Back then, this ill tempered egg went by the name of Grumpy Dumpty.
For twelve days and twelve nights, the joyous people of Muampa were miserable. The villagers
had asked Grumpy dumpty to stop, but all he did was egg nore them.
Oh Grumpy, don t be such a dull egg and turn that frown upside down, little Hope pleaded.
Quit your begging little girl. Nothing you say or do will ever change the way I am. This
disturbing kingdom is too jubilant. You ll see, one day I will have my chance to get off this wall
and rue the day! Grumpy Dumpty heartlessly said to the innocent child.
Hope sadly stomped off to the king s court to report this horrifying incident.
Oh please, oh please!! There has to be something you can do. That unegg ceptional egg is trying to
turn this kingdom into an incredibly gloomy place. We can t let this happen. We just can t!! Hope
said with a deep sob.
The king s men stared at each other in confusion.
Well, I have never heard of this so called Grumpy Dumpty character. I have heard of Humpty
Dumpty, but we are not living in a fairytale world. It would make no sense for him to egg ist, said
old Joe.
Oh come on! You have to believe me! cried little Hope.

Apple Stereotyping
In Steven Levy s article The new iPods: Random sampling or not?, he postulates that Apple s
mechanism for shuffling songs is not entirely random. Apple popularized its shuffle feature in
2004 with the slogan Life is Random. However, Levy finds this difficult to believe. He
consistently gets songs by Steely Dan and nothing by Aretha Franklin, despite the supposed
randomized shuffling feature. Yet, Apple maintains that its shuffling process is randomized.
Ultimately, the problem is because of Apple s coding, user error, or due to random sampling error.
Apple describes its process of shuffling like a Vegas dealer shuffles a deck of cards. The
effectiveness of this process is dependant upon the code that Apple uses. If there is any bias

A Lack of Meaningful General Education Courses
General Education (GE) is defined as that part of a curriculum that is shared by all students
(regardless their original major/profession), provides broad exposure to multiple disciplines, and
forms the basis for developing important intellectual and civil capabilities (Spencer Benson, 2009).
With the rapid development of society, the demand of multi disciplinarily personals is growing
dramatically. In order to broaden students knowledge and let them respond creatively and seize
opportunities to cope with the complexity, change and diversity, many universities among the world
are pursuing high qualities of general education. (University of Macau, n.d) In UM, every student
needs to take 13 general educational courses chosen from four areas, which are language and
communication, science and information technology, society and culture, self development.
However, is general educational succeeding in its goals in UM? Unfortunately, the answer is not.
General education is not as effective as we image in our university. One phenomenon we can
observe is that there are some students who are absent minded or sleepy in class. When asked about
the important content in textbooks, many students answers are far from satisfaction and they even
complain that they gain almost nothing meaningful in their general education courses. This
discounted situation is a long standing problem and it should be improved without doubt. You may
ask that what the causes of this phenomenon

They have also attacked patent listings in the Food and Drug Administration Orange Book and have
alleged monopolization through fraud on the Patent and Trademark Office and sham litigation. Yet
other cases have condemned distribution agreements as unlawful exclusive dealing. These
government actions have led to substantial private class action litigation against the pharmaceutical
industry. The FTC has also challenged numerous mergers and acquisitions in the industry over the
last decade. One common feature in all of these cases is the need to define a relevant market. In
nonmerger cases, the FTC and private plaintiffsgenerally allege narrow markets, limited to a single
drug and its generic equivalent in some cases and to generic drugs excluding the bioequivalent
brand name drug in other cases. In its merger challenges, on the other hand, the FTC has alleged
markets ranging from those based upon a particular chemical compound, to broader markets based
upon various drugs manner of interaction or dosage form, to still broader markets of all drugs used

Narrative Essay On Riding A Bike
I rushed down the road; my chubby cheeks jiggling as the wind blew swiftly onto my face. I felt
like even Usain Bolt himself wouldn t have been able to accelerate at the astonishing speeds I
was going. Suddenly, once my father decided let go of my shoulders, I found myself spiraling
down a hill uncontrollably. I grabbed the handlebars firmly as I screamed towards the heavens at
the top of my lungs. My feet flailing around whilst attempting to scour for the pedals. Seconds
later, I found myself crashing onto the side of the road, looking as though I had just challenged
Evander Holyfieldto a twelve round fistfight. At that moment, I had decided, with the firm resolve
of a fickle minded ten year old kid, to never ridea bike again.
Riding a bike has always been one of my greatest challenges of my young life. It was a childhood
dream of mine to be able successfully ride the green Cannondale Hybrid I had seen in an episode
of Tony Hawk s trick moves displayed on television. In order to achieve this wish of mine, I

Although, after a certain traumatic fiasco which lead to my very first visit to the operating room, I

The Calling Of St. Matthew By Caravaggio
The Calling of St. Matthew, is a painting created in 1600, by Caravaggio. It was created using oil
paints measuring 127 inches by 130 inches. The painting can be found today in the Contarelli
Chapel in the french church San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. It is located in the chapel with two
other paintings by Caravaggio, all about St. Matthew. The painting is telling a story from the
Gospel of Matthew. It shows the moment that Jesustells Matthew to follow him and become one
of his apostles. The main characters in this painting are Matthew, Jesus, and Peter. There are five
young men seated counting money. They are all armed and dressed in fancy clothes. The room
they are in almost looks like an old tavern. Images do not usually show Jesus in this particular kind
of setting.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It represents the sacrifice Jesus is going to make for the people. Caravaggio s hand placement
for Jesus is very similar to Michelangelo s hand in his The Creation of Adam painting. This could
have been done intentional. Michelangelo painted God as he awakens Adam and now
Caravaggio has painted Jesus reaching out to Matthew as he is recreating his life. It is hard to
tell exactly who Jesus is pointing at since there are five men seated in front of him. However, the
intensity of the light, probably from a door that was opened, takes the viewers eyes right to the
bearded mans hand which he is pointing at himself in shock. Matthew is surprised that Jesus
would pick someone like him. Caravaggio is showing his audience that even if you believe you
are not holy enough, everyone is able to follow Christ. He gives his audience the ability to relate
to St. Matthew. This tells us that he is Matthew. At this moment, Matthew has to decide if he
wants to stay and continue to be a tax collector, or follow Jesus. The coin on top of his hat and his
hand reaching out to a coin, symbolizes that money is a huge part of him, if he went with Jesus he
would be giving

Overview of the Smurfette Principle
In their pieces on the Smurfette principle, Pollitt and Ellis both discuss the idea that gender
representations have intense effects on the children who absorb certain types of popular
entertainment. Although we are hesitant to accept it, we are all influenced by the media in a very
powerful way. Whether it be through TV shows, billboards, movies or the news. One thing that we
commonly wonder about is if the adult femalepopulation is as influenced by the stereotyped gender
roles present on TV or are we shaped at a young age and carry that perspective with us throughout
our lives. This Smurfette principle has been around for almost two decades. It was introduced by

This showed girls that the man was more important and that they had to hide in the mans
shadow per say. Pollitt had said that Little girls learn to split their consciousness, filtering their
dreams and ambitions through boy characters while admiring the clothes of the princess (Pollitt,
1991) and this was correct. Ken was always the one who had an important job. These jobs
included but were not limited to a doctor, rockstar and professional tennis player. The fact that he
was in the Army, also showed us that men are more powerful then women . Pollitt had said that
Boys define the group, its story and its code of values. Girls exist only in relation to boys
(Pollitt, 1991) and she was right. It is shown a great deal in the TV show between Barbie and
Ken. Due to the fact that little girls do not know any better, they accepted this as the norm. They
thought that in order to be perceived as perfect and accepted into society, they had to demonstrate
the same characteristics and physical features as Barbie did. Not only this, but they begin to think
that they are not superior to men. Children s minds are shaped at a very young age and will
continue to carry this with them for the rest of their lives. Once a child has their mindset that this
is how they must act and present themselves, they will continue to do that for years to come. This
is not to say that adults minds are not shaped by certain TV shows as well.

Examples Of Romantic Love In Midsummer Night s Dream
Shakespeare celebrates romantic love but also satirizes it Phyllis Rackin claims that Shakespeare
celebrates romantic love but also satirizes it. In this essay, using the example of the comedy
Midsummer Night s Dream , we will try to argue that the writer uses the notion of love as a
metaphor, in order to explore certain topics concerning human feelings. This play was written in
1595 1596, probably a little later than Romeo and Juliet and deals with the marriage of Theseus,
Duke of Athens and Hippolyta, the Amazon queen as well as all the surrounding events. The other
main characters of the play are Demetrius, Hermia, Lysanderand Helena, the four young Athenians,

Titania, is not governed by pure and innocent love. Oberon appears to be quite possessive and
jealous of his queen. He is so conceited that he desires to punish and humiliate Titania for
disobeying him.Nevertheless, it is not quite clear whether Oberon and Titania are

A Group Of Two Hundred
A group of two hundred Watcher class fallen angels descended to Mount Hermon. These were
special angels commissioned by God to watch and observe humans and human activity on Earth. In
my opinion, these fallen angels , under the direction of Satan, took an oath to take human wives and
create human hybrids in order to corrupt the human genome.
From the book of Enoch:
6.1 And it came to pass, when the sons of men had increased, that in those days there were born to
them fair and beautiful daughters.
6.2 And the Angels, the sons of Heaven, saw them and desired them. And they said to one another:
Come, let us choose for ourselves wives, from the children of men, and let us beget, for ourselves,
children.

Not only did the fallen angels corrupt the human genome, they corrupted the animals as well. And
they began to sin against birds, and against animals, and against reptiles, and against fish (Verse
7.5). The fallen angels created hybrid creatures. These creatures were part human, bird, fish, and
mammal. This passage will be of interest in later chapters.
God punished the watcher angels by binding them and placing them in complete and utter
darkness. In other words, complete sensory deprivation until the Great Day of Judgement. God also
forced them to watch as their sons killed one another in a Nephilim civil war.
From the book of Enoch:
10.4 And further the Lord said to Raphael: Bind Azazel by his hands and his feet and throw him
into the darkness. And split open the desert, which is in Dudael, and throw him there.
10.5 And throw on him jagged and sharp stones and cover him with darkness. And let him stay
there forever. And cover his face so that he may not see the light.
10.6 And so that, on the Great Day of Judgment, he may be hurled into the fire. 10.9 And the Lord
said to Gabriel: Proceed against the bastards, and the reprobates, and against the sons of the
fornicators. And destroy the sons of the fornicators, and the sons of the Watchers, from amongst

depicting the enslavement of both man and woman. She uses historical fact as well as semi

However, once the slave market opened up and expanded, slaves became the major
commodities: being a white slave owner developed into the very definition of wealth and
prestige, of class and sophistication. Slave women became fetishes for white slave owners.
Hegemony is defined as the dominance and influence of one social class over others. As
Raymond Williams puts it, hegemony is a concept which at once includes and goes beyond two
powerful earlier concepts: that of culture as a whole social process , in which men define and
shape their [and those which they control, i.e. women] whole lives; and that of ideology , in any
of its Marxist senses, in which a system of meanings and values is the expression or projection
of a particular class [white European wealthy male] interest (108). Subsequently, the needs of this
hegemony, this ideology plus, defines the commodities of the time. A commodity is a product of
value and use, separate from a service. In other words, the individual ho provides the service, is
technically, a commodity. The predominant social class being that of the wealthy white European
male, this hegemony, is then capable deciding what is acceptable in society and what is not. In a

Imoinda s place became that of a fetish, every man capable

Reflection On Behavior Intervention
Reflection
I do not feel that I have sufficient data to make an informed decision on the effectiveness of this
intervention for Adam. However, I would conclude that my attempt at a behavior intervention was
unsuccessful. This was due to a variety of reasons. The foremost reason being to inconsistent
application of the intervention. At times, weeks passed between trials. As we have learned,
intervention is successful when it is implemented regularly.
It was unwise to set my intervention monitoring in an environment which I have no control over
and for a small window of time, for a specific type of instruction. Instruction is not given at a set
period of time, as I had thought when collecting my baseline data. Adam s general education
teacher often has them do individual work, then moves to whole group instruction, at which point I
need to leave. Furthermore, there are a great deal of holidays during autumn, so students were often
participating in the arts, rather than math. These issues could have potentially been avoided if I had
spoken to his general education teacher about her schedule, but I did not. Further consultation could
have helped this project to be successful.
The token board may have not been the most appropriate intervention for what I was doing. I
chose this intervention because both Adam and I are familiar with it. Further, I had planned to
increase the duration overtime. My plan was, for the first week or two, I would have my student

The Cultural Icon Of The 20th Century Essay
Amber Gentile 12 December 2016 Period 2 Albert Einstein The Cultural Icon from the 20th
Century Albert Einstein once said I want to know God s thoughts, the rest are details . Einstein
wanted an equation that would encapsulate all physical laws. To put the beauty and the power of
the universe into a single equation was his life s goal. Although Einstein s name is now
synonymous with genius, his professors would have never predicted him to be this successful
as he would always cut class, and he could not get a single job after graduating. Einstein thought
he was such loser that he wrote a letter to his family saying perhaps it would be better if he was
never born. His father had to apply on behalf of Einstein for academic positions, but they all said
there were no positions available. His father passed away thinking that Einstein was a total
disgrace to the family. In 1902 Einstein moved to Switzerland, and began a career far from
science. One of his friends got him a job to be a patent clerk in the Swiss patent office. He spent
six days a week reviewing applications submitted by inventors to the Swiss government. He had to
analyze the patents and strip them to their essence, which honed his skills as a physicist. Since it
was not intellectually demanding it would give him ample time to contemplate the universe.
Einstein s daydreams would change the way the universe was understood. In 1905 in what has
been called his miracle year, he publishes in his spare time four

The diluted paint should spray table, have students try if they wish to do so, this will show
students how far, and fast germs spread. o Bottle of lotion, different colored glitter This activity
will be led outside. Give students a liberal amount of lotion and have them slather it all over
hands, give them each a different colored glitter and rub on hands. Then have students shake
hands amongst themselves to show how easily germs spread. After this messy activity have
students try to wash hands with only water so they can see that not all the glitter comes off.
Second, have students properly wash their hands with warm water, and soap for 20 seconds or

Bone Marrow Syndrome In Chernobyl
On April 27th, exactly 30 years ago, the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, Ukraine, played forth as we
know it today. Many believe the fault and cause of the accident had many results. (Burlakova, Elena
B.) Many elements played a part in this great nuclear disaster that lead to multiple deaths, many
long term health effects in humans and wildlife, and ultimately still causing issues to this day. On
the afternoon of April 26th, the staffs of the Chernobyl nuclear plant were about to do testing on the
fourth unit of the nuclear facility, and ultimately the unit that caused the destruction of the plant.
They were testing safety features of certain hardware to see if the system could run for a minute in
the catastrophic event of total power failure. (Leatherbarrow) The purpose of the pumps and steam
turbine system that was being tested was to keep the reactor having cool water flow to the core
continuously. Without a constant water flow to cool the core, the reactor itself would ultimately
melt down. The pumps that direct the flow of the cooling water run on the electricity that the plant
produced itself; so in a case of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Human Resources Analysis
Knowledge management functions in the human resources community are very active and very
broad. Human resource operators use some form of knowledge management in almost everything
that they do. There is also what many perceive as an overabundance of information. Based on this
overabundance and the many different tools available, the way that human resource operators
perform their duties varies quite a bit. The systems and processes that human resource operators use
across the three components also vary widely. I will focus on the knowledge managementtools,
systems, and resources that are currently being used by human resource professionals in the New
York Army National Guard. I surveyed human resource professionals at the battalion, brigade,...

is similar to DPRO at the National Guard Bureau level. Both tools provide organizational Soldier
readiness information that users can sort, filter, subscribe to, and customize. The major advantage
PRIME has over DPRO is the ability users have to create inputs. Users can request changes,
improvements, corrections, or report issues using a feedback button within the program, or by
communicating the same through their chain of command. That information is reviewed by the
program administrator at the state and acted upon as applicable. Face to face interaction with
program administrators and state human resource professionals was mentioned as an additional
strength, specifically for the New York G1 field manual. At least annually, the state MILPO hosts
personnel workshops. During these workshops, users have the ability to provide feedback and
request changes to various state programs. At times, the programs are changed based on requests
on the spot. There is a high level of trust in the information provided by these systems; I believe the
primary reason for that is the connection users have to the programs due to their involvement in
their development and outputs. The noted weaknesses of the state programs were the requirements
to access them. Users must have an issued New York Army National Guard computer, a user

Bilingual Education Over The United States
The Acts have vastly improved bilingual education over the years. The current programs available

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nao Silver
INTRODUCTION:
Silver is bright and shining metal known to mankind from ancient times. From ancient time s
human civilization are using silver for jewelleries, utensils, weapons, coin, medicine, water
containing tanks. From early days silver is assisting the immune system when it was plentiful
available in dissolved metallic form in water[1]. In periodic table it is placed at 47th position near

like malleability, ductility, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity [2]. Silver exhibit the
excellent anti microbial property. After the development of nanotechnology we are using silver
extensively in various area. Now a day we use silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) instead of metallic

The Bronies And The Boony Phenomenon
The brony phenomenon creates a sense of conviviality for several men by opposing the stringent
expectations established by our society. As the show was not intended for people in their age
group, the bronies have secured an unexpected camaraderie with each other in effect from being
different from what society anticipated and hence attempting to create a more permissive culture.
Together these grown men, stuck in Erikson s fifth stage of development, have trouble discovering
a place for themselves in our conservative society. Applied by our conventional society, austere
expectations prompt Bronies to be stuck in a state of role bewilderness. Acting like adolescents,
Bronies are discovering who they are, their passions, and inventing themselves... Show more

The characters represent many things for the Bronies, such as honesty, kindness, generosity, and
loyalty thus giving much comfort to these flummoxed men. Since the ponies all depict a specific
character trait, the Bronies are able to picture themselves through the ponies. For typification, a
young man with Aspergers named Daniel can see himself through one of the stars of the show:
Twilight Sparkle. This pony is very intelligent, organized, kind, serious and anxious he saw himself
in that character. He felt a connection to that specific animated character. For people who have this
syndrome, it makes it much more difficult to interact in social situations, causing them to become
socially awkward. Instead of helping his condition, the cartoon impedes his condition. By projecting
ВЁthemselves on anotherВЁ, the bronies are able to adopt ВЁsomeone elseВґs value systemВЁ
and thus, are able to hide their inability to make an identity for one s self (Rochat, 729) and
(Fleming, 9 11 ). There are several Bronies worldwide who are in the same position Daniel is
using the mechanism of ВЁforeclosureВЁ to cope with their identity crisis. This method allows for
people to ВЁassume an identity of convenienceВЁ in order to ВЁsuppress the anxietyВЁ that
comes from the role confusion (Fleming, 9 11). By doing so, the Bronies can achieve a temporary
identity and detain any further physiological

Pride In Beowulf
I.Anglos Saxon and Beowulf s qualities and characteristics go hand in hand. Vitality, deadly
instincts and nationalistic pride alleviate natural pains encountered naturally, mythically and
psychologically in a variety of forms and entities. Beowulf himself displays these traits through
regal and personal exploits enveloped within such a story. Beowulfs standard premise of morally
just vs morally unjust starts with a neighboring country s plea to take down a threat of a demon,
Grendel. With this happening, he uses this information to bolster his already righteous status of a
hero, as well as his noble position in society, in which then would make his domestic wise men
look like angelic saviors for Danes. Organizations of these characteristics... Show more content on

People s demons, if living with a burden such as a little individual living within you, can bring
many sane individuals to their knees. A man s success at removing this parasite unlocks many
avenues for someone to rise above others in regards to mental strength. An example of this in
Beowulf s encounter and response with Unferth, We were both too young to know better that d
we risk our lives far out at sea. (269 270) It represents Beowulf challenging his inner demon of
getting even footing by striking out with verbal abuse. Before this, Beowulf s welcoming party
was met with an ill mannered warrior judging Beowulf on his status, in which during this event
he calmly stated his previous exploits in childhood were of desperation and loyalty to each
other, and afterwards getting approval and renown unexpectedly from Hrothgar. One other
example of fighting an inner demon is located in stanza eight, That shepherd of evil, guardian of
crime, knew at once that nowhere on Earth had he met a man whose hands were harder. (432
434) This quote represents a factor of power flowing through Beowulf and him already
challenging his inner demons to fight a monster capable of turning men to red paste. Before this,
Grendel was consuming warriors one at a time, during this time Beowulf seized upon his inner
strength and deflected Grendel s own fear back at him, thus making his presence seem less
intimidating. Afterwards, making Grendel wish he never came up from his marshes but to run
away. Both of these instances provided a gateway for Beowulf to represent his true colors of being
a warrior to and both a leader and follower of a code all at

There has been so many changes in the Forensic science field that it is extremely important that
individuals in the Forensic Science world realize and understand the evolution of tools and

The newly machine presents a few factors that were absent in the previous model. One of those
factors that wasn t present in the old model that s now present in the new model is the capability
of microscopic imaging down to microns. The old model only presented items in mono tones
instead of color imaging. Color imaging gives a technician the upper hand when it comes to
narrowing down specific specimens that may be in need of color, something the older model also
lacked. Also, the new model has been enhanced with a very strong and magnetic light source; with
the newly technological invention the light source enables examiners to rotate light to capture very
punitive stringent marks and features, something that the older model also lacked. One way to scan
3D data is with an measuring system. The measuring system is the way of the analyzing one or
more waves by examining the pattern that s created by a technician. New three dimensional
forensic ballistics requires a software computer hardware platform that allows powerful graphics
capabilities, a rich development environment, and a stable OS (Operating System) with the
capability of handling an abundance amount of data that the measuring system

Speech On Self Confidence
Self Confidence... Something every girl lacks at some point in their life. When we see other
girls laughing and smiling and dressed in the cutest outfit and totally rocking it, we
automatically think bad about ourselves and how we don t like the way we look or feel. But we
don t always deal with self confidence in the same way others do. Some put more makeup on,
some put fancier clothes on, and some do the exact opposite of that and wear no makeup and
only comfy clothes. What really is Self Confidence? In the Urban Dictionary the definition of Self
Confidence is to be content with who you are mentally and physically. Studies have shown, the
level of self confidence that you have in yourself can tell others many things about you. But how
do we really build our self confidence? How do we become that perfect girlthat we all see and want
to be? The truth is, is that we will never ever be the girl we see across the room that is
surrounded by everyone laughing and looking like she has the perfect life. It is impossible to be
someone else. Of course, you could maybe dress like her, talk like her, and maybe even do the
same things she does on a day to day basis like her. But, in the end that will get you nowhere. You
will realize that it doesn t really work and you still aren t happy with yourself, and that is
because you tried to be someone you are not. Instead of focusing on something or someone we
can t be, we have to learn how to focus on being the person we can be and the person we are and
how to modify ourselves for us and not for anything or anyone else.
So, how do we really build this personal self confidence that we all want? The truth is, it s not an
easy fix. It is one of those situations that take effort and time to see change. The first thing we
are going to look at is our appearance. For this self confidence study we are going to call it
beauty self esteem . Studies have proven that when a women wears clothing that they personally
pick out and are comfortable in, they feel more happy and confident and ready for the day to
come. Try to start picking out things that you like, it doesn t matter what the style is as long as you
like what you have picked out. Today, the style is self confidence and

Scientific Management, Or Taylorism, Is A Theory Of...
Scientific Management, or Taylorism, is a theory of management by F. W. Taylor that analysed
how the highest economic efficiency, especially labour productivity, can be achieved, hence the
greatest prosperity for both employers and employees. The four principles that he brought
forward are the replacement of the rule of thumb work method with a scientific way to study
work, matching and training the most suitable person to do each particular job scientifically
instead of leaving the workers to choose their own work and teach themselves, the provision of
detailed instructions and standard operating procedures by the managers to workers to ensure all
of the work being done in accordance with the principles of the science and the division of work
between workers and managers, which managers are responsible for planning and supervising
while workers are to complete the tasks they are assigned to.
In F. W. Taylor s scientific managementtheory, he tried to convey the idea of specialisation. This
means dividing and co ordinating the various tasks necessary to produce a finished product by
simplifying jobs and having each worker perform fewer, more routine tasks , aiming to increase
efficiency in the workplace. By doing so, workers would have to make fewer motions to
complete a task and also, repeatedly doing the same task, which would make workers more and
more used to and skilled at that task. As a result, they can do it more efficiently and quicker.
Specialisation has

Kenyan Real Estate Bubble
Is there a real estate bubble in Kenya?
Recently in the Standard Edition, a report by the Central Bank and World Bank said that only eight
per cent of Kenyans 320, 000 households can afford a mortgage and that nine out of ten Kenyans
cannot afford to buy the houses they live in, even with a mortgage loan in tow. The report also
indicated that for one to buy a house worth Sh2 million, for example, one must have a net salary
of Sh100,000 and service the loan at Sh42,000 a month for a period of 15 years at an interest rate
of 14.5 per cent. This came as shock since, although the total mortgage loan book in the country is
approx. 16,000 accounts, the value of mortgage loans (as at the end of last year) totaled
Sh.133.6billion. This can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The increasing real estate growth has mainly been driven by a strong economy, urbanization and
growing middle class. The stabilizing legal environment, considerable credit expansion and
increased spending on infrastructure by government have also contributed to the growth.
Nevertheless, the market faced difficulties in 2011 due to high cost of land, high inflation, a weak
shilling, ,and cases of fraud which led to loss of purchased land to various individuals. The high
inflation last year caused precipitous import prices. Consequently, the shilling weakened, falling to
a historic low of 107 to the dollar in October. Therefore, the cost of construction materials rose by
about 40% and forced property developers to spend more on projects. This hurt the property
market and has prompted commercial banks to cut lending, fearing a slowdown in the uptake of
properties especially in the up market segment. Below are a few charts and graphs on prices for
property for sale and average rent, courtesy of HassConsult . The Hass Composite sales Index is

Administrative Tribunals And Decision From Other Common...
4.Administrative tribunals and decision from other common law countries
Beside the judicial functions of courts, administrative tribunals are another official bodies that
adhere the rights to settle the disputes, and they are established within federal and state
jurisdictions. The well established practice of the doctrine of precedent is also found in the operation
of administrative tribunals, where the inferior tribunals follow decisions of superior but those
decisions are not necessary carry the formal precedential authority. In most cases, disputes parties in
the tribunals could appeal to the court, where the tribunals are bound by the precedent of the court.
The decisions from other common law jurisdiction such as United Kingdom, New Zealand,
Canadian and United States have no authority on Australian courts but Australian judges rather
relied on them as an argument in the judgment particular when confront with the absence of binding
authority. Traditionally, the decision of superior English courts are paid the highest regards,
especially when there is a conflicting of foreign court decisions, and are frequently cited by
Australian judges owing to the fact that British is the mother nation of Australia.
E.Ratio decisis and Obiter dicta
According to doctrine of stare decisis, not all statements of rule of law in the precedent are binding.

Abortion Debate Analysis
The argument of legalizing abortion has been spread out over society like a wild fire on a dry
summer day, but there are five points that are constantly being hit, legal precedence, birth control
issues, human rights, religion, and when life begins. Based on both moral and empirical claims, this
issue has reached to the public on whether or not abortionshould be legalized. As both advocate
groups define this issue on its constitutionality and moral views, it is represented by their
constituents, political figures view this issue as a party line, Pro life conservatives and Pro
choice liberals. While the media views this issue morally and represents the wide spread views of

have a moral side of when they believe aborting a fetus is morally right and wrong and the
morally wrong thing to do is abort a fetus that is able to live on its own. According to Dr.

into pregnancy. While this gives the women to decide on whether or not they want to abort the

Purpose Of Tragedy In Romeo And Juliet
Purpose and Tragedy Involving Romeo and Juliet Many of Shakespeare s tragedies illustrate
that they have an unhappy ending, but that isn t true in every case such as this one. In The
Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet , Shakespeare is showing that happiness can be found between two
young lovers, even in the midst of civil strife. When Shakespeare wrote this play, it was the
Elizabethan Age. During this time, daughters were their fathers property and were sold to men
of any age, for livestock in return. Women had less power and say than men, and the father of
the house was always in charge. Romeo had a little more freedom than Juliet per se. Juliet, for
example, was the princess locked up in the vine covered tower with a wealthy family to keep her
there. Romeo had more freedom and was in a family with not as much money as Juliet s. There
was also a social class where the Duke and Duchess held the most power and the peasants had the
least power. Juliet s family... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of those instances is at the end of the play when Juliet uttered, ...drunk all, and left no
friendly drop to help me after? I will kiss thy lips; haply some poison yet doth hang on them, to

Romeo that she would take her life to do so. If she didn t find happiness from their relationship
and him she would never have done what she did, or things would have at least ended
differently. The most tragic part about Romeo and Juliet is that their death and that they end
through death. Their impulsive decision making, and anger towards their families guided their
actions. Today, everyone is able in a way to relate to Romeo and Juliet at some point, by going
through the process of being in love . Love is able to make your decision making impaired, since
what you do is to please the love you have and share with

Why Is The Battle Of Gettysburg Important
With over 51,000 dead and wounded soldiers, the battle of Gettysburg is arguably the costliest and
bloodiest battle of the Civil war. Many people have heard and maybe even memorized the
Gettysburg Address by President Abraham Lincoln without truly understanding the significance of
the battle. To be able to understand why the battle of Gettysburgwas so important, one must
understand what happened during the three day battle, what it was like for the soldiers to fight in
the circumstances of the battle, and the effects of the battle on American History. The battle of
Gettysburg is the most well known and important battle in the Civil War to understand because of
the monumental events leading up to and during the actual battle, the weighty significance of the
events, and the address by President Lincoln.
The battle of Gettysburg is the most important battle of the Civil War because of the events leading
up to Gettysburg. General Lee and the Confederate Army had the momentum. Lee s reputation as a
General was steadily increasing. Confederate victories in Chancellorsville and Fredericksburg along
with indecisive battles in Tennessee and along the Mississippi River caused uneasiness among
Northern soldiers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the first day of battle in Gettysburg on July 1, 1863 was actually an accident. General
Buford s cavalry had arrived the day before with his 2,950 troopers. He predicted correctly that
the Confederates would come booming down the Chambersburg Pike, the main road into
Gettysburg, in the morning. He did not, however, predict the force in which they would come and
was badly damaged. This event ties into all the other Confederate victories leading up to
Gettysburg in its relevance in showing how important the Union victory was. They came back
from against the odds and this is a big reason why the battle of Gettysburg is so memorable and

Analysis Of Watchmen By Alan Moore
Being gifted with the term of being a hero holds tremendous power in our culture; children write
cute assignments on who they look up to, adolescents watch and read about heroes in their
entertainment, and even adults have personal or fictional heroes they will never get too old to
stop idolizing. In our society, we ve been raised to associate this word, Hero , to a perfect being;
however, the evolving times and entertainment industry has made the hero a more complex and
multifaceted character. From Jerry Siegle s kid friendly Superman, to Frank Miller s night dwelling
Batman , and lastly to our topic of discussion, Alan Moore s Watchmenwith its conflicted depiction
of characters blurring the line between being a hero or a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main characters are Jupiter, Nite Owl, Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, Comedian, and
Ozymandias. Foremost the best example of a hero actually being a terrible person is the
Comedian in Watchmen . Though he is considered a patriotic hero , he rapes and kills women,
he loves violence and killing, he s a drunk, and he doesn t have a single kind line among all the
insults he hurls at other people in the entire comic. However even with all this, he is still
considered a patriotic vigilante who is a hero employed legally by the government after all other
masked heroes where banned by The Keene Act . Juspeczyc, Jupiter , is able to show several
themes that would have never been acceptable in the previous decades of comic books including
sexual encounters with Daniel and Dr. Manhattan at a young age, promiscuous attire, and
insubordination when arguing with her mother and others. The 1980s still slightly stunk of
female oppression lingering from past decades, but women were starting to take a stand and
become a force of their own which I believe is shown through this female character and many
others in comics since the 80s in order to appeal to a female and male audience. Nite Owl, or
Daniel, is the most morally sound character who tries to be a good person in the group of masked
anti heroes called the Watchmen. It was with the good intent of

  • 2. Fear Of Manipulating A Spinal Injury Focusing my attention back on the PL, I moved to check the one place unseen and began removing his helmet. His head was protected, but tilting his chin back was one thing I didn t want to do for fear of manipulating a spinal injury. It also is what finally exposed and opened the small hole in his throat from an apparent piece of shrapnel and he began to bleed profusely. I immediately called the medic away from one of the less seriously wounded to help me with the bleeding. I packed the wound but loosely, not wanting to interfere with what was left of his airway and then pulled him up to my lap so I could maintain pressure on the wound. He was still dying. Running out of options, I checked his airway again and manipulated his tongue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shortly thereafter, he regained life signs and consciousness, attempting to sit up even. I called for a litter and directed he be secured and ready to move, meanwhile contacting the Command Post to provide a situation report and moving to check on other casualties at the CCP. At this time I had twelve that needed evacuation and eight more walking wounded. There were barely enough lucid Soldiers to pull security, but my biggest problem was that the QRF had not arrived yet. Searching for an improvised solution for the PL who I believed was expectant at this point, I saw an Afghan National Army truck parked nearby with a driver who seemed as though he was trying to help. I directed that the PL be loaded onto the back of the pickup truck with two ambulatory Soldiers who could pull security on both the surroundings and the driver. I sent the medic to monitor his airway. The interpreter conveyed my directions to the driver to take the Soldiers straight to our Entry Control Point at the AP, and I instructed the PL s security to take the vehicle by any means necessary if the driver did not follow directions. Our Platoon Leader was now conscious and responsive, and I told him where he was going and why. Less than fifteen minutes after the attack, the PL and his fight for life was on his way to next level care. As the truck pulled off our 3rd Platoon arrived as QRF. The QRF medic took over where ours had left off. All the casualties were stable and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Jesus took a different view and called the laws the tradition of men (Mark 7:1 23; Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001). An estimated four million Jews lived in the Roman Empire, but only an estimated 700,000 lived in Palestine. A larger population of Jews lived in Alexandria and Syria. Gentiles outnumbered Jews in Decapolis and Galilee (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001). Languages spoken in Palestine were Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew and it is likely that Jesus and His disciples were trilingual. Transportation was mainly conducted on waterways. Other than the Roman roads, the road system was poor (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001). Following are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kroeger and Kroger (2012) asserts that modern historians neglect to recognize that women were prominent members and benefactors of the early church and furthermore implies that studies on the early church be more inclusive of the roles played by the female leadership. • 4. Once The Wart Character Analysis The Wart walked up to the great sword for the third time. He put out his right arm softly and drew it out as gently from a scabbard. (198). The Wart, a nickname for soon to be King Arthur was a modest, curious, young boy who was into adventure. Once the Wart was crowned king, he was named King Arthur. King Arthurgrew from a timid boy to become a strong ruler with the help of his tutor Merlyn. The theme of might and right that recurred several times was based on Arthur. The Wart was always good hearted both young and old, but when he pulled the sword from the stone he had to apply all his lessons and morals to his rule. T.H. White uses might and right to prove that Arthur is exceptional for his devotion and belief in Merlyn s ideas. Instead,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arthur is a successful king, because he worked hard to understand Merlyn s morals and apply it to his own system of governance. In order to obtain great power like Arthur did, you need might. Arthur utters his explanation through a few words saying, Why can t you harness Might so that it works for right? I know it sounds nonsense, but, I mean, you can t just say there is no such thing. The Might is there, in the bad half of people, and you can t neglect it. You can t cut it out, but you might be able to direct it, if you see what I mean, so that it was useful instead of bad. (241). This quote shows that T.H. White proves force to equal justice and that Arthur can make a seperation between power and justice. Arthur is remembered for his image of a civilized society, and not for his role on the battlefield. He notices the good and bad of common people and allows them to equal each other out. For example, under King Arthur s rule, Knights are allowed to fight for a reason, but not for pity fun. Arthur uses Merlyn s knowledge from the lessons and turning into multiple creatures to maintain a just political system with a progressive civilization. All of his encounters with the warlike ants and the wise badger taught him to find might equals right. He grew to believe in doing what is right and that everything in his society is considered right. His success ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The morning sun continues to rise turning the sky a beautiful blood orange color. All types of animals are called to attention by an African tribal chant; Nants ingonyama bagithi baba! Groups of animals emerge from the thick fog walking across the grassy savannah. A flock of flamingos fly across the still crystal water. Herds of antelope hop like frogs through the morning mist. On many occurrences, when someone coughs, sneezes or blows their nose, while others were eating or ordering their food, they would roll their eyes or look at the person in disgust. I even witnessed a couple get up and leave the mall in a rage because someone sneezed near them without covering their mouth. The incident I will never forget, was one lady advised a young man, who coughed without covering his mouth, that he should cover he should do so, which left me in shock. Of everyone that was in the food court, women were more so the ones who were offended by people coughing, sneezing or blowing their noses without covering their mouth or washing their hands. These types of careless acts puts others at risks of coming in contact with your germs possible causing people to get sick. • 7. Bruce Tuckman s Stages Of Team Development Grow your Team With Team Development Techniques The team development model of: Forming Storming Norming Performing was proposed in 1965 by American psychologist Bruce Tuckman. The Forming Storming Norming Performing model describes a set of stages in training that a group must go through in order to be able to achieve maximum potential. As the name implies, the Forming Storming Norming Performing model show the four ordered stages a team must go through before they become like a well oiled machine. Storming This is the stage where the concepts of each member come together for the first time. This is where members of the team experience their ideas being criticized, improved, and commented on by their colleagues. Storming not only refers to the concept of brainstorming , but also to the stormy stage of team development. Some immature members will not appreciate their ideas being criticized, and their behavior might serve as a deterrent for the team to move on to the next stage of thier development. It s up to the supervisor or team leader to decide how to deal with this kind of attitude. Norming Once the stormy phase is over the team reaches the stage where they start to work together collectively. They re more familiar with each other s attitudes, work ethics, and tastes in terms of ideas and work output. • 12. Reflective Essay On A Council Meeting On Monday, November 20th 2017, I attended the City of Atlanta s council meeting while visiting my friend for the holidays. I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of student government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was confusing enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting. The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members. The room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had been called the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and the council felt the need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very important to the council and they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very positive roles in the community. The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women over the previous weekend. Prayers were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It was stated that the city is doing everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and apprehend the killer. The third person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta community, who was a dear friend to many of the council members. We then observed a moment of silence for all those previously mentioned. At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I have attended. In the dugout during a t ball game, I was sitting on a bench waiting to go up to bat. A teammate asked me if the player currently up to bat was my brother. I turned to him and said, That is my brodder. He looked confused and responded with He is your budder? No, I countered, He is my broffer. With an even more confused look he asked me again, He is your buffer? Now I was annoyed. I thought I sounded normal, but he was looking at me like I had a third eye. He. is. My. broffer! I said, exaggerating the word slowly and condescendingly. That is where the memory cuts off. I don t remember whether he finally understood what I was trying to say, or if I just gave up in frustration. Although this casual conversation may seem like a one timething, it was not. The villagers had asked Grumpy dumpty to stop, but all he did was egg nore them. Oh Grumpy, don t be such a dull egg and turn that frown upside down, little Hope pleaded. Quit your begging little girl. Nothing you say or do will ever change the way I am. This disturbing kingdom is too jubilant. Apple popularized its shuffle feature in 2004 with the slogan Life is Random. However, Levy finds this difficult to believe. He consistently gets songs by Steely Dan and nothing by Aretha Franklin, despite the supposed randomized shuffling feature. Yet, Apple maintains that its shuffling process is randomized. Ultimately, the problem is because of Apple s coding, user error, or due to random sampling error. Apple describes its process of shuffling like a Vegas dealer shuffles a deck of cards. A Lack of Meaningful General Education Courses General Education (GE) is defined as that part of a curriculum that is shared by all students (regardless their original major/profession), provides broad exposure to multiple disciplines, and forms the basis for developing important intellectual and civil capabilities (Spencer Benson, 2009). With the rapid development of society, the demand of multi disciplinarily personals is growing dramatically. In order to broaden students knowledge and let them respond creatively and seize opportunities to cope with the complexity, change and diversity, many universities among the world are pursuing high qualities of general education. (University of Macau, n.d) In UM, every student needs to take 13 general educational courses chosen from four areas, which are language and communication, science and information technology, society and culture, self development. However, is general educational succeeding in its goals in UM? Unfortunately, the answer is not. General education is not as effective as we image in our university. One phenomenon we can observe is that there are some students who are absent minded or sleepy in class. When asked about the important content in textbooks, many students answers are far from satisfaction and they even complain that they gain almost nothing meaningful in their general education courses. This discounted situation is a long standing problem and it should be improved without doubt. You may ask that what the causes of this phenomenon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The painting can be found today in the Contarelli Chapel in the french church San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. It is located in the chapel with two other paintings by Caravaggio, all about St. Matthew. The painting is telling a story from the Gospel of Matthew. It shows the moment that Jesustells Matthew to follow him and become one of his apostles. The main characters in this painting are Matthew, Jesus, and Peter. Caravaggio s hand placement for Jesus is very similar to Michelangelo s hand in his The Creation of Adam painting. This could have been done intentional. He gives his audience the ability to relate to St. Matthew. This tells us that he is Matthew. One thing that we commonly wonder about is if the adult femalepopulation is as influenced by the stereotyped gender roles present on TV or are we shaped at a young age and carry that perspective with us throughout our lives. As Raymond Williams puts it, hegemony is a concept which at once includes and goes beyond two powerful earlier concepts: that of culture as a whole social process , in which men define and shape their [and those which they control, i.e. women] whole lives; and that of ideology , in any of its Marxist senses, in which a system of meanings and values is the expression or projection of a particular class [white European wealthy male] interest (108). However, I would conclude that my attempt at a behavior intervention was unsuccessful. This was due to a variety of reasons. The foremost reason being to inconsistent application of the intervention. At times, weeks passed between trials. As we have learned, intervention is successful when it is implemented regularly. It was unwise to set my intervention monitoring in an environment which I have no control over and for a small window of time, for a specific type of instruction. Instruction is not given at a set period of time, as I had thought when collecting my baseline data. Adam s general education teacher often has them do individual work, then moves to whole group instruction, at which point I need to leave. Furthermore, there are a great deal of holidays during autumn, so students were often participating in the arts, rather than math. These issues could have potentially been avoided if I had spoken to his general education teacher about her schedule, but I did not. Further consultation could have helped this project to be successful. The token board may have not been the most appropriate intervention for what I was doing. Although Einstein s name is now synonymous with genius, his professors would have never predicted him to be this successful as he would always cut class, and he could not get a single job after graduating. Einstein thought he was such loser that he wrote a letter to his family saying perhaps it would be better if he was never born. His father had to apply on behalf of Einstein for academic positions, but they all said there were no positions available. His father passed away thinking that Einstein was a total disgrace to the family. In 1902 Einstein moved to Switzerland, and began a career far from science. One of his friends got him a job to be a patent clerk in the Swiss patent office. He spent six days a week reviewing applications submitted by inventors to the Swiss government. He had to analyze the patents and strip them to their essence, which honed his skills as a physicist. Many believe the fault and cause of the accident had many results. (Burlakova, Elena B.) Many elements played a part in this great nuclear disaster that lead to multiple deaths, many long term health effects in humans and wildlife, and ultimately still causing issues to this day. On the afternoon of April 26th, the staffs of the Chernobyl nuclear plant were about to do testing on the fourth unit of the nuclear facility, and ultimately the unit that caused the destruction of the plant. They were testing safety features of certain hardware to see if the system could run for a minute in the catastrophic event of total power failure. (Leatherbarrow) The purpose of the pumps and steam turbine system that was being tested was to keep the reactor having cool water flow to the core continuously. Without a constant water flow to cool the core, the reactor itself would ultimately melt down. One example is the New York PRIME program, which is similar to DPRO at the National Guard Bureau level. Both tools provide organizational Soldier readiness information that users can sort, filter, subscribe to, and customize. The major advantage PRIME has over DPRO is the ability users have to create inputs. Users can request changes, improvements, corrections, or report issues using a feedback button within the program, or by communicating the same through their chain of command. That information is reviewed by the program administrator at the state and acted upon as applicable. Face to face interaction with program administrators and state human resource professionals was mentioned as an additional strength, specifically for the New York G1 field manual. At least annually, the state MILPO hosts personnel workshops. During these workshops, users have the ability to provide feedback and request changes to various state programs. At times, the programs are changed based on requests on the spot. There is a high level of trust in the information provided by these systems; I believe the primary reason for that is the connection users have to the programs due to their involvement in their development and outputs. But we don t always deal with self confidence in the same way others do. • 42. Scientific Management, Or Taylorism, Is A Theory Of... Scientific Management, or Taylorism, is a theory of management by F. W. Taylor that analysed how the highest economic efficiency, especially labour productivity, can be achieved, hence the greatest prosperity for both employers and employees. The four principles that he brought forward are the replacement of the rule of thumb work method with a scientific way to study work, matching and training the most suitable person to do each particular job scientifically instead of leaving the workers to choose their own work and teach themselves, the provision of detailed instructions and standard operating procedures by the managers to workers to ensure all of the work being done in accordance with the principles of the science and the division of work between workers and managers, which managers are responsible for planning and supervising while workers are to complete the tasks they are assigned to. In F. W. Taylor s scientific managementtheory, he tried to convey the idea of specialisation. This means dividing and co ordinating the various tasks necessary to produce a finished product by simplifying jobs and having each worker perform fewer, more routine tasks , aiming to increase efficiency in the workplace. By doing so, workers would have to make fewer motions to complete a task and also, repeatedly doing the same task, which would make workers more and more used to and skilled at that task. As a result, they can do it more efficiently and quicker. Specialisation has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
