The Management Plan For A New Employee
Every place of employment has standards when going through the hiring process. The new
employee of nursing in the hospital/home health and HIPAA is who we are going to focus on.
The Veterans Hospital is no different in having a process. Most companies have to develop risk
management tools to assist in their safety as well as the employee and we call it: employee
training. Within this title, or umbrella, we have several subtitles of items that deal with training or
having the credentials for the new employees to reduce risks for everyone.
The focus of this risk management plan for nursing of a new employee on HIPAA is to provide an
ongoing, extensive, and precise approach to reducing risk vulnerability of HIPPA regulations. The

With telework the VA goes through a PIV verification and frequent password codes of every three
months and mandatory updates. Mobile use is also used as a life line for clarifications and
verifications. With this also comes the urge of taking pictures of a patient, texting something that
shouldn t and leaving messages on machines that do not belong to that patient leaving secured
information. Also with new fax machines that copy and fax electronically without even printing a
single paper we depend on a confirmation sheet that it was delivered to the correct person.
With mobile phones, per VA policy, consent must be obtained first before getting pictures and
verbal recordings. With electronic faxes, release of Information must still be obtained. Staff must
use the ROI Plus software to track the accounting of disclosures. A coversheet must still be used as
in normal fax use. Information on drug, alcohol, HIV, or sickle cell anemia status may not be
transmitted by fax machine, unless the transmittal is directed to medical personnel to the extent
necessary to meet criteria of a medical emergency (Shulkin, 2016). Personal information should
never be written on the first cover sheet. The comparisons with all the regulations during trainings

The Cost Of Social Norms
To summarize the articles; What isn t for sale? by Michael J. Sandel, and The Cost of Social
Norms by Dan Ariely, in the articles both authors discuss the relationship between markets and
society, and how they are intertwined even though they shouldn t which is partially caused by
market values entering society and affecting the regular norms of society causing money to be the
first thing on everybody s mind. The article What isn t for sale? By Michael J. Sandel talks about
how society is broken because markets have reached into places they don t necessarily belong and
influencing people s values by supplanting nonmarket norms with marketvalues. They do so by
placing prices on things that normally aren t considered to be goods or services and couldn t
even be marketed, some examples given in the article are how people can pay an annual fee
ranging from $1,500 to $25,000, to gain access to their doctors personal cell phone, and same day
appointments; another example is how people in Santa Anna, California, and other cities can
actually pay $90 per night in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article mentions how there used to be two worlds, one which was governed by market
norms and one which is warm and fuzzy, where people do each other favors for the good of it,
with no need to pay it back immediately or at all, a world where doing certain things provided
people with a level of satisfaction. In the world governed by market norms all exchanges are
sharp, where all transactions are for the sake of buying something with the only benefit being to
gain something monetary, but in today s society these worlds have collided and people are having
a hard time identifying what should be governed by market norms and what should be governed by

genocide Essay
Genocide is an extremely broad subject with various different definitions. Genocide could be one or
more leaders trying to get rid of a large group of people by killings or attacks, or it can be against a
smaller group of people in a less violent manner. Genocide has been a very extreme problem in
society and various reports of genocidal events have been recorded in history, but how does one
go about finding the precise and accurate definition of a genocide ? Genocidal acts are placed into
different categories and are defined in different degrees. The Commission on Human Rights has set
up seven treaties that describe acts of genocide. Regardless of committees attempts to limit or
abolish acts of genocide, genocide was a very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once they have the items deemed necessary, it is more likely for these acts to become more violent
and more destructive, depending on the amount of items palpable. This being said, weapons being
more prevalent in the twentieth century have lead to an increase of genocidal acts in society.
Genocide is an important human rights issue. When a person or persons take it into their hands to
violate someone s given rights, it should be considered an act punishable. For people to understand
the severity of their actions, their actions must have serious consequences. These consequences
must be so extreme to the relevance to the act punishable that those who are planning on partaking
in a similar act are made well aware of the possible punishments. If people are better educated on
the subject of genocide, the reports of genocidal cases might decrease, making genocide a less
extreme problem not only in the United States, but the entire world.
The world organization that concerns itself with issues parallel to genocide is the Commission on
Human Rights. It is the commission s duty to meet once a genocidal act occurred and was
reported. Then the commission must develop different ways to mend the problem at task in a fair
and just way. By doing so, the commission helps to fix this human right s issue with the seven
treaties.

Veiled Sentiments By Lila Abu Lughod
Veiled Sentiments, written by Lila Abu Lughod, explores the meaning of poetry within kinship,
honor, modesty, and ideology in the Awlad Ali Bedouin society. The Awlad Ali Bedouins live in
the Western Desert bordering Libya in Egypt (1986;2). They live in their traditional tents woven
in wool (1986; 2) in spatial arrangements within a camp (1986;6). Lila Abu Lughod lived with the
Bedouins for about two years from October 1978 to May 1980 (1986;4). She lived with a
particular group of traditional Bedouins, the Haj family, where she was given a role in the family
that she had to portray (1986;7). Her introduction to the family gave her an identity and an
advantage to her fieldwork. Poetryis an essential part to the Awlad Ali Bedouins culture because it
serves as a way of communicating their feelings and it becomes this instrument for identity among
themselves.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abu Lughod learned that the kin ties are conceived as common interests (1986;55). For Bedouins,
knowing their blood ties helps them determine their nobility or ancestry. In their, culture nobility
or asl is very important to their identity (1986;41) because it is one of the factors that determine
their social hierarchy. In the Bedouin society, kinship in poetry helps relay messages from one kin
to another. First and foremost, it becomes a way of communication as it helps each family express
how they are feeling. Secondly, it helps them share interests with other families by being able to
form relationships within each other (1986;63). Thirdly, poetry helps them mourn (1986;67) by
crying. To the Bedouins, blood is the central identity of the Bedouin culture and individuality
(1986;78) so with the kinship ties they have with the other Bedouins they are able to determine
who is in their tribe or

Manual Cars Vs Automatic Cars Research Paper
Ever wanted a car that has good fuel economy and cheap to buy, and really easy to maintain? A
standard car is the perfect fit. Ever since the invention of the automatic transmission for cars, the
sale of standard cars has dropped drastically. Maybe this is because people do not feel the need to
learn how to drive a standard car, but if they want to save money and have a fun time driving on
the roads then learning to drive a standard car is the best thing for them. Whether a person is into
cars or not, they should know how much better a standard vehicle could be for them. When buying
a vehicle there are two choices; a manual and an automatic vehicle. Knowing the pros and cons of
both should be a key factor on picking the vehicle. The way the... Show more content on

This means that automatic vehicles are better to have than standard vehicles. One author, Julia
Eddington mentions that Some of these automakers argue that computer controlled transmissions
can shift faster than any human, actually improving performance . However, this is irrelevant
because when driving a manual vehicle the driver has much better control of the vehicle. In fact,
when driving a manual vehicle the driver is able to get every bit of power out of each gear unlike
an automatic vehicle the gears will switch to early thus causing it to have less power (Vallet).
When operating a vehicle that is an automatic, remember that a torque convertor is being used and
when going at high speeds, the torque convertor idles for a few moments, meaning it stops being
active for a while. For that reason, tension occurs around the belts and because of that, the vehicle
takes a bit longer to get at a higher speed. This supports the claim that manual transmission vehicles
are more convenient to have and refutes the idea that automatic vehicles are more convenient to
have because having more control and power over the vehicle is always better than having less
control and power over the

Airedale Terrier Research Paper
Most breeds have specialties, but Airedale Terriers have a broad range of skills. They can hunt
birds, retrieve downed birds, and track and tree mammals, both large and small. Airedales were
also the first breed used as police dogs in both Great Britain and Germany, and in wartime, served
as guards and messengers. They were prized by both law enforcement and military because they
retained their training well and would work through harsh conditions and discomfort. The breed
was developed in Aire, England, probably from the English Terrier. Some experts feel the
Otterhound was crossed with the English Terrier to help create a waterproof coat and to add to the
first breed s hunting abilities. After the mid 1800s, the breed was known as the Working

The Lord Of The Covenant Essay
Our greatest example for covenant keeping is the Lord himself: For your Maker is your husband
the Lord Almighty is his name...The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and
distressed in spirit a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God. For a brief
moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. (Isaiah 54:5 6 New
International Version 1984)
Through the prophet, Isaiah, the Lord conveys to Israel the perseverance of the covenant between
Israel and himself, despite Israel s violation of the covenant. The Lord promises restoration to
himself through his compassion because of his love for Israel. Israel was painted as an adulteress
in Hosea, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many other scriptures due to her pursuit of other gods, yet, like
Hosea and his prostitute bride, the Lord welcomes her back countless times because of his own
faithfulness to the covenant (Patterson, 2008). The Lord has shown since ancient times his desire
for the covenant bond of marriage to reflect his own relationship with his people. Now he shows
this marriage covenant through Christ and the New Covenant. The people of God are broadened to
include Gentiles through the Lord s covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3:6 9) and are all pledged in
relationship with God through the blood covenant of Christ s sacrifice. When the covenant is
entered, nothing can sever it, including our own actions (Romans 8:38 39). On this foundation, the
Lord establishes the

Southwest Airline s Low Cost Fare Structure And Customer...
Introduction
Southwest Airline s low cost fare structure and customer service has been its primary core
competency and has enabled the airline to maintain its market share while sustaining its
competitive advantage over its rivals for over 40 years. This internal analysis will provide a review
of the strengths and weaknesses of events that occur within the firm along with a financial analysis
assessment and recommendation for future decisions.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Southwest s business model is dependent upon labor as approximately 83% of the company s
employees are represented by labor unions. This makes the firm particularly exposed in the event
of labor related issues. The Company s success is also dependent upon attracting and retaining
qualified personnel. In the future, it may be necessary for Southwest to increase existing levels of
compensation to retain its human capital. Currently, salaries, wages, and benefits represented
approximately 41% of the company s operating expenses for the year ended December 31, 2015. In
terms of operating expenses, fuel and oil comprised 23% of the airline s totals in 2015. Southwest
Airlines had first unhedged its 2015 fuel consumption however, later in the year as crude prices
increased, new hedging positions were added in response to expectations of increased fuel prices
in the future. If the oil prices, in fact, rise later in 2016 the airline will see a decrease in its
operating expense and an increase in capacity and

The Importance Of Video Games In Education
Education has and always been all about learning through textbooks and in person lectures from
school rather than using technologies to teach. For example, most schools located in the rural areas
are still using the traditional way of teaching to deliver the materials to the students. In fact, most of
the public high schools in the urban are not even aware of the existence of high end technologies
out there like the virtual reality, 3 Dimensional simulators, or even touchscreen devices. Students
are taught and trained to use their basic skills to figure out a solution to a problem. However, if
technologies included video games were parts of the teaching process and teacher will have
students create games to teach other students, then students are immersed in an environment they
are accustomed to, and this establishes a potentially new form of performance assessment
(Annetta). Indeed, with this combination between educationand video games, teachers are more
likely to have their students highly participate in their works rather than have their students trying
to finish their assignments because they were forced to do them. For example, students in middle
schoolare more likely to have their attention on video games about the outer space from NASA s
website: spaceplace.nasa.gov, or to have themselves directly experience the 4 dimensional
simulation of the pilot system of an aircraft rather than read the materials straight out from books.
Another example of how video

Cheeto Lab Report
The energy released during combustion reactions goes into the surrounding atmosphere because
the energy does not disappear it simply goes into the atmosphere of a surrounding area. For
example, during the Cheeto experiment the fire being released is the energy but when the fire is
out the rest of that energy is moved onto its surrounding like people and the air. One observation
that I made during my experiment was when the mass of Cheeto was too big and when the
Cheeto began to burn it released its energy onto the can which heated the water inside and that
also created energy because the water releases steam and that goes into the air and the people
around it. The fire being released wasn t always as expected because if the Cheeto was too big...

The percentage error for both trials came to 79.6% and 85% so if only 20% of the energy was
released onto the can the rest of it was released into the atmosphere and its surrounding areas. As
a result, the amount of energy being released onto the can was short but the rest of energy
eventually released at a high percentage because the energy does not disappear, but the energy
goes out to surrounding and the air. Significantly, every calculation was taken accurately but the
error percentage somehow proved inaccurate because we used the equation Q=m*Cp*T to
calculate how much energy was being released by the sample and then we also used it calculate
the Calories per gram which there we figured out the changes within the experiment then when we
subtracted the result and divided it by 6.4 then times it by 100 it gives the amount of the
percentage error to determine how much energy was released and find out where it ended all up to
be. In conclusion, the energy released during combustion reaction goes to the air and everything
else around the energy because due to the amount energy being released it can tell us how much
energy went missing and find out where it all went to determine the error that went on during the

Queer Is Not A Queer
I was walking to my house from the bus stop one day with my neighbor, Michael, and I was
joking about how I have a girl crush on Selena Gomez. I asked Michael, Hey, what male celebrity
do you have a man crush on? He responded ferociously with, None. I m not a freaking queer. This
is the exact type of mindset that transforms innocent words into ones dripping with negativity and
spite. Language is one of the most powerful tools a person could have, and the way they utilize it
reveals their character. As time progresses, words and their meanings can change. For my great
aunt s generation, the word queer just simply meant weird or strange. However, as gayactivism has
become much more prominent in society, the word queer is now mainly used to describe someone
s sexual orientation. Queer is not a derogatory term unless used as such, and it is instead a term of
equality and acceptance that should reverberate positive feelings. Sadly, this is not the only way
people translate it, instead morphing it into a shameful word and a cutting insult.
Until recently, queer had been primarily used to describe something odd. There was nothing
derogatory about the word, it was just a normal, everyday adjective. Queer originally originated in
Germany in the sixteenth century, meaning perverse. From there its use broadened to the term, not
straight. This did not mean sexual identity necessarily, but it did mean out of character or not totally
normal. Since then it evolved

How Does The Catcher In The Rye Existentialism
Everyday in contains a series of choices. Some choices are more impactful than others, but all
choices are important. Existentialism, prevalent through the 1940 60s, believes that living is made
through choices, and if one is not living then they are simply existing. In Salinger s fiction novel,
the Catcher in the Rye, he portrays existentialismthrough his main character, Holden, and his
experiences as a teenager. Holden is faced with many decisions throughout his time at Pencey and
since getting expelled. Salinger expresses the significance of the existentialist element of self choice
through the protagonist s habitual decisions to distance himself from the controlling nature of
society.
One of the first instances where Salinger presents the importance of choice is when Holden tells
about an instant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holden describes experiences where he has been close to having sex, but he never follows
through. He describes that he ll be necking with a girl and one thing leads to another but then, they
tell [him] to stop, so [he] stops (92). This moral decision contradicts what Holden society because
of who he is surrounded by. When Holden describes his roommate, Stradlater, he describes a similar
situation where Holden witnessed a girl telling Stradlater to stop and he wouldn t stop. Holden s
decision to not carry through with sex depicts the existentialist element of choice which society
disagrees with. This situation is repeated when Holden orders a stripper and decides not to have sex
with her. James Bryan further explains in the Psychological structures of the Catcher in the Rye
that the sexual experiences he cannot carry through with, un consciously alienates himself from
many of the people he encounters which represent society. Holden exemplifies an existentialist
through his authentic decisions which separate himself from society s

Who Is Laura Ingalls Wilder s Little House In The Big Woods
Little House in the Big Woods is a memoir written by Laura Ingalls Wilder that encompasses a

The Role Of Male And Female Roles In Society
In general, the male and female roles in society at that time were very different. Ultimately, the
males were the ones with the most power. Thus, they seemed to think they knew what is best for
the lady s. Still, she is suffering from depression and went to two different doctors. My brother is
also a physician, and also of high standing, and he says the same thing (). John is a highly looked
upon physician, he tries to make life choices for her that he knows what is best for her, but does
he really? Power was everything to men it made them who they were. Therefore, if they didn t
have power, they were viewed as weak and unsuccessful in life.
In addition, the female role was very different from the male role. Moreover, women were seen as
very dependent on the male. The male made the choices and the female did whatever they are
told. Therefore, they were more likely to stay at home and tend to house work while their husband
was away at work. Sadly, they didn t seem to get much of a social life. Ultimately, if they wanted
to go somewhere they had to ask permission of the man, but if the man was not around they would
do what they wanted to. Ironically, the women would tend to hide things from the men because
they would disapprove of their choices. Unfortunately, it was a period of time in which women
didn t have much power and were forced to live under a rock. Furthermore, the men wanted them to
be blind to the truth, so they couldn t over power them.

I would then let the university handle the matter in whichever way they see fit, while I try to
keep my emotions under control and respect the decision of the university. As for when I see my
fellow classmate, I would remain cordial and congratulate him on winning the contest. I
probably would ask him where he got his story line from, as well as whether or not he has ever
read my story I had published. I would confront him about my suspicion I have concerning the
story line; most likely he would deny any plagiarism accusations that I or the university made
against him. If he told me he didn t steal my story line, then I would be the bigger person and tell
him we should put our differences aside (agree to disagree), so that the conversation will not
escalade into more of an argument.
Differing levels of emotional intelligence The emotional intelligence level an individual has plays
a significant role in how he/ she will react to any given situation (Kinicki Kreitner, 2009). I believe
an individual with a low or immature level of emotional intelligence would act in a negative or
disruptive manner when handling a problematic situation; allowing their emotions to get the best of
them (Kinicki Kreitner). For instance, in the above scenario, someone with a low level of
emotional intelligence may have called their classmate right when they found out and

Quality Control Of Car Emission Efficiency
QUALITY CONTROL OF CAR EMISSION EFFICIENCY
1. Introduction
Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade,
business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is
plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The
idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even
small difference can save considerable amount of money.
Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel
economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received
from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann
Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every
year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of
Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their
car efficiency which is associated with programs. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov). Many companies
have many instructions in order to inform the costumers about fuel efficiency. However, on the
other hand, none of these companies are certain on a particular car. That causes less motivation on
drivers because they encounter with something mindboggling. Therefore, we will use the quality

The Impact Of Children On Children With Divorce
In order to explore my topic and answer my inquiry question, I began by searching through a
variety of website articles. I then searched through the articles and narrowed it down to two that
had opposing views. Lastly, I conducted interviews with two primary sources. All these sources
gave me a better understanding of my topic, and how to answer my question. 1.5 million
children deal with divorce every year. Researchers have found that only a relatively small
percentage of children experience severe problems in the wake of divorce. Also, they have
found that most children, after the initial blow of divorce, only suffer for a short period of time.
Many children experience short term negative effects from divorce. For example some of the
effects include: anxiety, anger, shock and disbelief. These effects often disappear after the end of
two years. In a quantitative review of the literature in 2001, a sociologist, Paul R. Amato,
examined the possible effects on children several years after divorce. The studies compared
children of married parents with those of divorced parents. The researchers followed kids into later
childhood and adolescence. They assessed their academic achievement and emotional and
behavioral problems. On average, the studies found only a small difference between children of
divorced parents and those of married parents. Though, not everybody agrees on those premises.

Legalizing Gay Marriages
Marriage is a way that many people express their love to each other, showing how strong a
commitment one can have towards another person. In recent years, the idea of what constitutes a
married couple has changed. Traditionally, a man and a woman get married and live happily ever
after. Over time, we have seen men and women of different colors and get married, as well as
people of the same gender. Marriagehas changed and has become such a huge topic of
conversation and debate. Homosexual marriages have now become legal in all the U.S. I do not
support gaymarriages because homosexual couples should not have the right to get married,
homosexual couples should not adopt without being judged, and also should not have the same
financial benefits... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whenever a gay couple adopts a child, the couple should think about the child s stability.
Adopting a child while being homosexual can have many effects on the child and how the child
view things. A child that grows up in a gay house hold may grow up and think that it is okay to
date someone of the same gender. Homosexual couples cannot produce children, so therefore
they must adopt if they want children. A homosexual couple who adopts children does not take
the children in consideration. In the article, In the Best Interests of the (Silenced) Child, the
author says, to include children s voices would be to acknowledge children s agency and
individuality and in doing so would undermine the figure of the passive, innocent and powerless
child which sustains the best interests rhetoric. The author is basically saying that a child that is
for adoption does not have a voice and no one takes in consideration of the child s feelings. A gay
couple that adopts does this for their satisfaction instead of the child. Many heterosexual couples
would argue that a child needs a male figure in their life as well as a female

The Pros And Cons Of Japanese Internment
December 7th, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Army successfully pulled of the surprise attack on
Pearl Harbor. After this attack the government of Canada used the war measures act to remove all
Japanese Canadian citizens that live 160km from the Pacific Coast and put them in internment
camps until 1949, four years after WW2. Fast Forward to 1988 and the Canadian government gives
an apology to the Japanese, however the apology was for more than just Japanese Internment it was
for the pain and suffering, discrimination, and for leaving Japanese citizens with nothing.
One of the most justified reasons for the apology would be how the Canadian Government caused
the pain and suffering amongst Japanese Canadians. Firstly, the 22,000 Japanese Canadian citizens
and residents were taken from their homes on Canadas West Coast without any charge or due
process and exiled to remote areas of Eastern British Columbia (Greg Robinson, Internment of
Japanese Canadians). In addition, the RCMP arrested suspected operatives while the Royal
Canadian Navy impounded 1,200 Japanese fishing boats, and to avoid racist backlash Japanese
newspapers, as well as schools were voluntarily shut down. In this time the Japanese population in
Canada had been greatly damaged and families became separated into the internment camps.
Moving on, my second point for further justification is the Labor Camps Japanese Canadians were
placed in, further increasing pain and suffering. Because of the amount of political

Medical Billing Profession
In the medical field, there are many different career opportunities for a biller and coder to choose
from. Careers offered can be in Radiology, Doctor s Office, Dental Office, and working from
home. In this report, I will provide bits of information about each of these different medical billing
and coding career choices.
PHYSICIAN S OFFICE
Medical billers and coders who work in a physician s office, deal with outpatient services. Private
physicians have their billing services sent out to insurance companies, patients, or other government
healthcare agencies. Small offices employ a small staff that comply with government guidelines.
Clinical staff work closely together to maintain a professional atmosphere on a day to day basis.

A coder looks up codes in a CDT 5 (Current Dental Terminology 5th Edition) just as a medical
coder uses a CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) guide book. Dental coders can find
procedure codes in the HCPCS Level II book as well. The guidelines are pretty much the same for
billers and coders in the dental field versus the medical field. Every examination, procedure, and
surgery must have preauthorization from a third party payer, so the appropriate code can be
submitted.
RADIOLOGY BILLING SERVICES Coders choosing the Radiology field must be knowledgeable
with CPT codes and modifiers. Here are a few services that fall under Radiology: CAT Scans, X
Ray of different Internal Organs, and Nuclear Medicine for Limiting and Curing Internal Disorders.
It is very important to be efficient when applying the correct CPT codes. Coders and billers are
highly trained to be as accurate as possible. CONTRACT REMOTE INPATIENT CODER
In the hospital setting, there are numerous job opportunities for a biller and coder to choose from.
For instance, a contract remote inpatient coder must be able to accurately assign diagnoses and
procedure codes. To name a few, here are some of the qualifications a coder must have: one year
of inpatient coding experience, five years working in the medical field, knowledge of

The Middle Phase Of Learning
In Queensland schools, the Middle Phase of Learning is a distinct period for students in the Year
4 to Year 9 cohorts. It is divided into two phases. The onset of the Middle Phase of Learning is a
time of transition, many learners are keen to discover and investigate an extensive range of learning
experiences. However, some learners begin to lose interest and progress in learning may diminish.
The subsequent phase for learners, is filled with challenges. Physical, emotional, intellectual and
social issues can impact upon students learning. For learners to be prepared for the senior phase of
learning, student s curiosity and enthusiasm must be nurtured and further opportunities provided to
enable learners to gain knowledge and skills if progress slows. (http://education.qld.gov.au/etrf/pdf
/midaction03.pdf)
During this phase, learners are shifting from concrete to abstract thinking and have emergent
capacity for higher order analysis and reflection. They are also moving towards more rational
decision making and an improved understanding of the consequences of behaviour.
Middle Phase learners have an increasing interest in ethical and moral enquiries and exploring real
world social issues. For many students, the transition from primary to secondary school can be
stimulating and stress free, while others feel fearful and hesitant as they have a powerful need to
belong and accepted by their peers. Subsequently, Middle Phase learners strive to be independent,
but while outwardly

The Punishment Should Be Legal Punishment
There are several rights that each person in the world have. These rights are not a gifts from
anybody, but they are inherent rights that people obtain as a human being, such as the right to life
and the right of liberty..etc. These fundamental rights are protected by the law and the state of the
country in order to maintain the society system. People usually express these rights without
limitation or control, unless exercise these rights encroached on others rights or breached the rules
that the government has set. As a result from such breaches and unlawful acts, sometimes persons

ABSTRACT
This paper is devoted to derive the explicit approximate solutions for the time fractional (Caputo
sense) coupled Burger s equations with implementation of the homotopy perturbation method. The
numerical results are compared with the exact solution at special cases of the fractional derivatives.
The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple.
Keywords: Fractional differential equations; Caputo s derivative; Homotopy perturbation method.

INTRODUCTION
Ordinary and partial fractional differential equations (FDEs) have been the focus of many studies
due to their frequent appearance in various applications in damping laws, motion in Newtonian
fluid, dynamical systems, viscoelasticity, biology, physics and engineering ([3], [6]). Consequently,
considerable attention has been given to the solutions of fractional differential equations of physical
interest. Most fractional differential equations do not have exact solutions, so numerical techniques
([12], [18]) must be used. Also, some untraditional approximate methods have recently been
developed by scientists and engineers ([1], [14]).
In this paper we will implement one of these methods, namely, homotopy perturbation method
(HPM) which was firstly presented by He

U.S. law enforcement officers, security guards, and other officials like judges and prosecutors

ensure the constitutional rights of all citizens are upheld. However, police misconduct is regularly
reported: excessive force, sexual assaults, false arrest, fabrication of evidence, deprivation of
property and failure to keep from harm. Excessive force is when law enforcement officers are
allowed to use whatever force is reasonably necessary (Federal Bureau of Investigation, (2015).
Consequently, disagreement between the police and the citizens are escalating. For over a century
the United States citizens have been involved in some sort of opposition with law enforcement.

Price dispersion, competition, and the role of online travel agents: Evidence from business routes in
the Italian airline market
In this study they use research to further understand what s driving price dispersion? They
investigate very distinct factors between online travel agents and airlines direct channels influence
price dispersion. Airline markets are characterized by the existence of substantial price dispersion,
to be intended as a measure of price variations in the market. Indeed, it is not unusual to see
travelers on the same flight paying very different prices for the very same seats. This is due to the
fact that airlines are able to distinguish among different types of customers and practice price
discrimination, with the help of mechanisms such as advance selling, loyalty programs,
nonrefundable tickets, etc. In addition, airline companies typically face uncertain demand with a
fixed inventory consisting of very perishable products. Accordingly, they utilize revenue
management systems to maximize revenues by dynamically adjusting prices for their seats based
on whether the current booking is above or below expected values. The study of price dispersion in
the airline industry can provide numerous important implications for firms, consumers and
authorities in terms of firms pricing power, price discrimination, product differentiation, and
reduction of search costs. For this reason, many researchers have devoted themselves to the study
of price dispersion in

Research Paper On Giotto
This is an artwork is by Giotto. Giotto was an artist that was very advance for his time. He grew
up as a shepherds boy in the outskirts of florence. There he worked on his paintings when an
artist named Cimabue saw his artwork and took him under his wing as an apprentice. Giotto s
work is so important because he was using a thing called perspective. Perspective was lost during
the middle ages, but Giotto reclaimed it. Though nobody used this method for a couple hundred
years, if it weren t for Giotto then it could have been much longer before art became more
advanced. Florence, Italyhad other important features during the Renaissancebesides Giotto s

Cause And Effect On Climate Change
Fourteen billion pounds of garbage is dumped into our oceans every year and most of it is
plastic. Americans alone make up 5 % of the world s population and yet we produce 30% of the
worlds waste and use 25% of the world s resources. When even exposed to the ground ozone for
only 6 7 hours healthy people s lung function has decrease. With the increasing pollution the more
it affects the climate which in returns effect our health and our everyday lives. Climate change has
many reasons why it has increased and effected many people s lives and how they live in this world.
Climate change is affect by many different factors in the world, 4 main contributors to climate
change are gases which are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. What all of
these types of gases have in common is that they all affect the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse
effect is warming that results when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from earth to space. Water
vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas and also the most critical component because as the
earth gets warmer by carbon dioxide more water vapor entries the atmosphere. Andrew Dessler
and colleagues from Texas A M University in College Station confirmed heat amplifying effect of
water vapor is potent enough to double the climate warming caused by increased levels of carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere. (Hansen 2). As carbon dioxide heats up the atmosphere more water
vapor is released cause climate change to double. Carbon

Student Justifications for Abusing Adderall
What Are U of M Students Perceptions of Adderall?
INTRODUCTION
With the increased pressure to succeed and the chaotic collegiate lifestyle taking a toll on students,
Adderall has evolved into the go to drug. The Class II prescription amphetamine is intended to
solely treat individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. The
stimulant works to enhance concentration by stimulating the production of dopamine and
norepinephrine in the brain (Stolz 585). Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of
Adderall on college campuses to enhance academic performance and cram for exams through the
over stimulation of the brain, therefore creating super enhanced focus (Stolz 585), deeming it the
smart drug. Due to the fact that several students are not truly diagnosed with ADHD, a majority of
this use on campuses is illegal; this has become a growing problem affecting the health of students
and entailing issues of competiveness and fairness (Jacobs 1). In recent years, the abuse of
Adderall has circulated hundreds of college campuses and even secondary schools.
Unfortunately, students are being deceived by the stimulant drug s valuable qualities, masking the
serious, detrimental effects that the drug induces. Even worse, contributing to Adderall s extensive
abuse across campuses, instead of condemnation it is implicitly being praised and validated by
parents and students who view these drugs as a means of academic

If you are having a large rug, you can buy a simple non slip rug pad to keep your area rug from
slipping or shifting from its position. If you are only interested in keeping your larger area rugs
from sliding from its position, then just buying a basic non slip rug pad can do the trick.
However, a quality rug pad is only essential for smaller rugs. For larger area rugs, a basic non skid
rug pad can help in preventing them from slipping or sliding. My recommendation is a natural
rubber rug pad because it is more eco friendly (made from rubber tree sap) and won t stain your
hardwood floors. My best bet is eco friendly rug pad, the ones that are made from the sap of the
rubber tree. They not only helps the environment but also won t leave any stain on your floor.
You can go for eco friendly natural rubber rug pad, because it can help the environment and most
importantly, it won t stain your hardwood floor. The best option is natural rubber rug pad, since
it is more environmentally friendly and also won t leave any kind of stain on your floor surface.
Again, they are a bit more expensive than traditional china imported pvc padding, but I wouldn t

The Standard Model of particle physics is a theory concerning the electromagnetic, weak and
strong forces, as well as classifying all the subatomic particles known. It was developed as a
collaborative effort of scientists around the world during the latter half of the 20th century. Because
of its success in explaining wide variety of experimental results, the Standard Model is often

does not address some profound questions about the nature of the universe and it does leave some
phenomena unexplained. One of these phenomena that the Standard Model doesn t explain is

The Problem Of Computer Programming Education
Through the Educate to Innovate Initiative, the current administration has made the case that
investments in STEM programs (science, technology, engineering and math) are essential to
maintaining the status of international competitiveness. But since the start of the program in 2009,
the importance of computerprogramming educationis still being misunderstood and inadequately
addressed. Though the administration has tried to get more technology into schools, it s failed to
teach kids what could really help them compete internationally which is coding. Computer
programmingis the driving force behind all forms of computer technology. Without programmers,
these machines could be more innovative and capable than mankind could ever imagine, but if
there is no one to program, there is no way for computers to perform needed tasks.
Though technology has become such a key point in the national discussion on education, computer
literacy is still sometimes confused with computer science. While computer literacy refers to word
processing and knowledgeable use of the Internet, computer science refers to the study of
algorithmic processes, hardware and software designs, and ways to impact society with
technological innovation. A general computer science curriculum largely consists of critical
thinking, problem solving, and logic the skills that American students will need in order to compete
for the best jobs, whether or not they become programmers (James, 2013).

Education, Gender Roles And Humanism
Education, Gender Roles and Humanism in the Renaissance. Throughout the fourteenth and into
the fifteenth century there were a number of tragic events that directly caused a revitalization of
society. This revitalization was needed to restore hope to the people that were living each day for
survival. Some of these events were the destabilization of the Catholic Church with the relocation of
the papacy from Rometo Avignon. This would soon be followed by the Black Death and its
mammoth death toll that lead to the reduction of work forces and uprisings of peasants . At the
same time England and France were fighting a series of wars that were later be deem The Hundred
Years War and this battle would add to a western mindset that was being cultivated to expect death,
destruction, violence, sickness and poverty. In the midst of this depressing and violent society, Italy
and more specifically Florence, saw a need for change and to work towards the elevation of
society, the creation of a new society, and a new mindset to bring about a more civil and cultured
society. This lead to a new philosophy called Humanism and this Humanistic evolution of the
educational system involved a total reconstruction of the university curriculum, as well as the
resetting ideals of gender roles. In the beginning of this new society there was a great admiration
for classic Roman culture and this was the model being used with a great focus on the arts,

Comparing Calvinism And Arminius Viewpoints And Touch On...
Throughout history people have questioned election. The question is whether people are
predestined to be called to heaven and can not reject the Holy Spirit s calling such as a John Calvin.

nation of Israel. Most notably Cyrus, Cyrus was chosen to rebuild the temple. God even revealed
Himself to Cyrus but there is no evidence to suggest that Cyrus was in fact regenerated So it seems
that the Old Testament does not support the concept that personal salvation is a result of individual
election. In the New Testament there are verses on election and both sides to support their case. For
example in Romans 8 it seems like that predestination is conformed when it mentions that we as
believers would be predestined to be in Jesus image. In Ephesians 1 it states that we where
predestined to be adopted. But in John 3 it seems that everyone is called to God. And in Ephesians
2 God gives us the gift of salvation. I think that what

Why Did The Schlieffen Plan Fail
The Schlieffen Plan The Germans thought that they might have to go to war with Russia. If this
would happen/occur, France would most likely join Russia, considering that she was Russia s ally.
This would mean that Germany would have to fight a two front war, which would be a
nightmare. The Schlieffen Plan was a plan to avoid a war on two fronts against Russia and France.
The plan itself started in 1905 as a thought experiment, but the planning started before the
1900s(1892). The Schlieffen Plan started the Franco Russian alliance. The obvious solution to the
plan was to quickly beat one country, then focus against the other one. But which country should

The Legacy Of Isaac Newton
If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants Isaac Newton
(BrainyQuote).Sir Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1648 in Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth,
Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom as a premature baby. During this era of the 17th century
Scientific Revolution, science was revolutionizing but lacked knowledge that was added by this
influential prominent figure. As a result, through this historical figure s trek, solutions to questions
that once were unimaginable were solved. Nicknamed Isaac Newton, Jr., he influenced people to

survival possibilities and suffered through the insecurity of living without out his parents, climbing
the staircase one step at a time.
Subsequently, Newton, secluded from his parents who denied education, lived with a
grandmother who influenced learning, provided the basis of his intelligence. In 1654, Newton
was enrolled at The King s School, Grantam Grammar School at age 12 located in Grantham,
Lincolnshire. He lodged with a local apothecary, who helped build up his interest in chemistry
and the undeveloped medicine fields. Excelling in all his courses, he also erected an interest in
reading books, creating novel models, and chemistry. As a result, once he banged a peg into a
wall, marked hours around it, and saw its shadow move, telling time at amazing accuracy. In
addition, he generated a windmill operated by a mouse running on a treadmill. Though, Newton
had a complex personality, since at school he carved his name on every bench he sat on, including
some stone window ledges. As a fragile and gifted child he received criticism which would later
develop his new personality during his adulthood.
Afterwards, Hannah became widowed for the second time and dropped Newton out of school to

The Capitalist-Free Market
There are many differences between a capitalist free market and socialist economy. But one of the
most prominent differences that I noticed was that in a socialist economy is that most major
businesses are owned by the government so that the profits can be more evenly redistributed to the
public. The capitalist free market allows private ownership of major businesses. The profits in this
market are kept by the owners and shareholders of the company and not redistributed. The capitalist
free market allows the right to own private property; the right to own a business and keep those
profits from that business. This type of market also promotes the freedom of competition between
businesses for innovations, efficiency, and price.

Fear Of Death In Socrates Apology
Death is the destruction or permanent end of something such as life. Many people fear death
more than dying itself. In Apology, Socrates argued that the good person need not fear death .
Death is a state of nothingness as per Socrates. He stated clearly that death is an undisturbed
sleep . Living a good life does not mean long life or wealth; it simply means living an exemplary
life, or a fulfilled life just as Jesus Christ and Socrates. Jesus in His short life on earth lived his
mission sent life of saving people and restoring lives without fear of death. While Socrates lived a
fulfilled life of a well known philosopher who achieved his dreams and goals which was why he

I agree with that students now have to adapt and learn this new way of writing but not all
schools are keeping up with it. Learning the new skills involved with online writing is going to
help young people like myself succeed in communication online. I believe that this new era of
digital writing is both beneficial yet may still have consequences with it. One of the main
advantages of digital writing is that it is so easy to get your ideas, opinions, and knowledge out
to the world. Anyone with one hundred and forty characters and a click of a button can
potentially change how we see the world, spark a new interest in you, or inspire you to do the
same. Another advantage is that the worldwide web expands learning opportunities and adds a
new feature of being able to collaborate on learning as well. In addition, another important feature
is the content is relevant to world we live in now. Even though it was critical to write about what
happened in the past, it also beneficial to be able to write about what is going on around

Emerson s Life And Beliefs
Emerson was born on May 25, 1803 in Boston. He was very much influenced by the deaths of his
relatives from his early life. His father died when he was 8, and all of his brothers died, and his
wife died at the age 20. Also, his older son when he was only 7 years old. With many deaths,
Emerson needed a person to lean on. For him, it was his aunt, Mary Moody. She was very close
to him and helped him grow intellectually. Life before he started to write was life with God. He
went to Boston Latin School and Harvard. After he finished undergraduate in Harvard, he went to

transcendentalism essay, Nature, was published. The publication of this essay was initially done
anonymously. Maybe he thought the idea of transcendentalism would have too much impact, and
he might have harmful critics. The day before the publication of Nature, Emerson gathered with
Frederic Henry Hedge, George Putnam, and George Ripley. This gathering became periodic, and
it later became transcendental club. Margaret Fuller, one of his friends from Concord, later joins
this club and becomes the first female member of this club. As Emerson get older, he tried to find

spoke for abolition of slavery, and he continued his career as a lecturer, by lecturing around the

Sandel, and The Cost of Social Norms by Dan Ariely, in the articles both authors discuss the relationship between markets and society, and how they are intertwined even though they shouldn t which is partially caused by market values entering society and affecting the regular norms of society causing money to be the first thing on everybody s mind. The article What isn t for sale? By Michael J. Sandel talks about how society is broken because markets have reached into places they don t necessarily belong and influencing people s values by supplanting nonmarket norms with marketvalues. They do so by placing prices on things that normally aren t considered to be goods or services and couldn t even be marketed, some examples given in the article are how people can pay an annual fee ranging from $1,500 to $25,000, to gain access to their doctors personal cell phone, and same day appointments; another example is how people in Santa Anna, California, and other cities can actually pay $90 per night in... In the world governed by market norms all exchanges are sharp, where all transactions are for the sake of buying something with the only benefit being to gain something monetary, but in today s society these worlds have collided and people are having a hard time identifying what should be governed by market norms and what should be governed by social ... • 4. genocide Essay Genocide is an extremely broad subject with various different definitions. Genocide could be one or more leaders trying to get rid of a large group of people by killings or attacks, or it can be against a smaller group of people in a less violent manner. Genocide has been a very extreme problem in society and various reports of genocidal events have been recorded in history, but how does one go about finding the precise and accurate definition of a genocide ? Genocidal acts are placed into different categories and are defined in different degrees. The Commission on Human Rights has set up seven treaties that describe acts of genocide. Regardless of committees attempts to limit or abolish acts of genocide, genocide was a very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once they have the items deemed necessary, it is more likely for these acts to become more violent and more destructive, depending on the amount of items palpable. This being said, weapons being more prevalent in the twentieth century have lead to an increase of genocidal acts in society. Genocide is an important human rights issue. When a person or persons take it into their hands to violate someone s given rights, it should be considered an act punishable. For people to understand the severity of their actions, their actions must have serious consequences. These consequences must be so extreme to the relevance to the act punishable that those who are planning on partaking in a similar act are made well aware of the possible punishments. If people are better educated on the subject of genocide, the reports of genocidal cases might decrease, making genocide a less extreme problem not only in the United States, but the entire world. The world organization that concerns itself with issues parallel to genocide is the Commission on Human Rights. It is the commission s duty to meet once a genocidal act occurred and was reported. Then the commission must develop different ways to mend the problem at task in a fair and just way. By doing so, the commission helps to fix this human right s issue with the seven treaties. • 5. Veiled Sentiments By Lila Abu Lughod Veiled Sentiments, written by Lila Abu Lughod, explores the meaning of poetry within kinship, honor, modesty, and ideology in the Awlad Ali Bedouin society. The Awlad Ali Bedouins live in the Western Desert bordering Libya in Egypt (1986;2). They live in their traditional tents woven in wool (1986; 2) in spatial arrangements within a camp (1986;6). Lila Abu Lughod lived with the Bedouins for about two years from October 1978 to May 1980 (1986;4). She lived with a particular group of traditional Bedouins, the Haj family, where she was given a role in the family that she had to portray (1986;7). Her introduction to the family gave her an identity and an advantage to her fieldwork. Poetryis an essential part to the Awlad Ali Bedouins culture because it serves as a way of communicating their feelings and it becomes this instrument for identity among themselves.... For Bedouins, knowing their blood ties helps them determine their nobility or ancestry. In the Bedouin society, kinship in poetry helps relay messages from one kin to another. First and foremost, it becomes a way of communication as it helps each family express how they are feeling. Secondly, it helps them share interests with other families by being able to form relationships within each other (1986;63). Thirdly, poetry helps them mourn (1986;67) by crying. Ever since the invention of the automatic transmission for cars, the sale of standard cars has dropped drastically. Maybe this is because people do not feel the need to learn how to drive a standard car, but if they want to save money and have a fun time driving on the roads then learning to drive a standard car is the best thing for them. This means that automatic vehicles are better to have than standard vehicles. One author, Julia Eddington mentions that Some of these automakers argue that computer controlled transmissions can shift faster than any human, actually improving performance . However, this is irrelevant because when driving a manual vehicle the driver has much better control of the vehicle. In fact, when driving a manual vehicle the driver is able to get every bit of power out of each gear unlike an automatic vehicle the gears will switch to early thus causing it to have less power (Vallet). When operating a vehicle that is an automatic, remember that a torque convertor is being used and when going at high speeds, the torque convertor idles for a few moments, meaning it stops being active for a while. For that reason, tension occurs around the belts and because of that, the vehicle takes a bit longer to get at a higher speed. This supports the claim that manual transmission vehicles are more convenient to have and refutes the idea that automatic vehicles are more convenient to have because having more control and power over the vehicle is always better than having less control and power over the ... • 8. The Lord Of The Covenant Essay Our greatest example for covenant keeping is the Lord himself: For your Maker is your husband the Lord Almighty is his name...The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God. For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. (Isaiah 54:5 6 New International Version 1984) Through the prophet, Isaiah, the Lord conveys to Israel the perseverance of the covenant between Israel and himself, despite Israel s violation of the covenant. The Lord promises restoration to himself through his compassion because of his love for Israel. Israel was painted as an adulteress in Hosea, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many other scriptures due to her pursuit of other gods, yet, like Hosea and his prostitute bride, the Lord welcomes her back countless times because of his own faithfulness to the covenant (Patterson, 2008). The Lord has shown since ancient times his desire for the covenant bond of marriage to reflect his own relationship with his people. Now he shows this marriage covenant through Christ and the New Covenant. The people of God are broadened to include Gentiles through the Lord s covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3:6 9) and are all pledged in relationship with God through the blood covenant of Christ s sacrifice. When the covenant is entered, nothing can sever it, including our own actions (Romans 8:38 39). On this foundation, the Lord establishes the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Southwest Airline s Low Cost Fare Structure And Customer... Introduction Southwest Airline s low cost fare structure and customer service has been its primary core competency and has enabled the airline to maintain its market share while sustaining its competitive advantage over its rivals for over 40 years. This internal analysis will provide a review of the strengths and weaknesses of events that occur within the firm along with a financial analysis assessment and recommendation for future decisions. Strengths and Weaknesses Southwest s business model is dependent upon labor as approximately 83% of the company s employees are represented by labor unions. This makes the firm particularly exposed in the event of labor related issues. The Company s success is also dependent upon attracting and retaining qualified personnel. In the future, it may be necessary for Southwest to increase existing levels of compensation to retain its human capital. Currently, salaries, wages, and benefits represented approximately 41% of the company s operating expenses for the year ended December 31, 2015. In terms of operating expenses, fuel and oil comprised 23% of the airline s totals in 2015. Southwest Airlines had first unhedged its 2015 fuel consumption however, later in the year as crude prices increased, new hedging positions were added in response to expectations of increased fuel prices in the future. If the oil prices, in fact, rise later in 2016 the airline will see a decrease in its operating expense and an increase in capacity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Importance Of Video Games In Education Education has and always been all about learning through textbooks and in person lectures from school rather than using technologies to teach. For example, most schools located in the rural areas are still using the traditional way of teaching to deliver the materials to the students. In fact, most of the public high schools in the urban are not even aware of the existence of high end technologies out there like the virtual reality, 3 Dimensional simulators, or even touchscreen devices. Students are taught and trained to use their basic skills to figure out a solution to a problem. However, if technologies included video games were parts of the teaching process and teacher will have students create games to teach other students, then students are immersed in an environment they are accustomed to, and this establishes a potentially new form of performance assessment (Annetta). Indeed, with this combination between educationand video games, teachers are more likely to have their students highly participate in their works rather than have their students trying to finish their assignments because they were forced to do them. For example, students in middle schoolare more likely to have their attention on video games about the outer space from NASA s website: spaceplace.nasa.gov, or to have themselves directly experience the 4 dimensional simulation of the pilot system of an aircraft rather than read the materials straight out from books. • 11. Cheeto Lab Report The energy released during combustion reactions goes into the surrounding atmosphere because the energy does not disappear it simply goes into the atmosphere of a surrounding area. For example, during the Cheeto experiment the fire being released is the energy but when the fire is out the rest of that energy is moved onto its surrounding like people and the air. One observation that I made during my experiment was when the mass of Cheeto was too big and when the Cheeto began to burn it released its energy onto the can which heated the water inside and that also created energy because the water releases steam and that goes into the air and the people around it. The fire being released wasn t always as expected because if the Cheeto was too big... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The percentage error for both trials came to 79.6% and 85% so if only 20% of the energy was released onto the can the rest of it was released into the atmosphere and its surrounding areas. As a result, the amount of energy being released onto the can was short but the rest of energy eventually released at a high percentage because the energy does not disappear, but the energy goes out to surrounding and the air. Significantly, every calculation was taken accurately but the error percentage somehow proved inaccurate because we used the equation Q=m*Cp*T to calculate how much energy was being released by the sample and then we also used it calculate the Calories per gram which there we figured out the changes within the experiment then when we subtracted the result and divided it by 6.4 then times it by 100 it gives the amount of the percentage error to determine how much energy was released and find out where it ended all up to be. In conclusion, the energy released during combustion reaction goes to the air and everything else around the energy because due to the amount energy being released it can tell us how much energy went missing and find out where it all went to determine the error that went on during the ... • 12. Queer Is Not A Queer I was walking to my house from the bus stop one day with my neighbor, Michael, and I was joking about how I have a girl crush on Selena Gomez. I asked Michael, Hey, what male celebrity do you have a man crush on? He responded ferociously with, None. I m not a freaking queer. This is the exact type of mindset that transforms innocent words into ones dripping with negativity and spite. Language is one of the most powerful tools a person could have, and the way they utilize it reveals their character. As time progresses, words and their meanings can change. For my great aunt s generation, the word queer just simply meant weird or strange. However, as gayactivism has become much more prominent in society, the word queer is now mainly used to describe someone s sexual orientation. Queer is not a derogatory term unless used as such, and it is instead a term of equality and acceptance that should reverberate positive feelings. Sadly, this is not the only way people translate it, instead morphing it into a shameful word and a cutting insult. Until recently, queer had been primarily used to describe something odd. There was nothing derogatory about the word, it was just a normal, everyday adjective. Queer originally originated in Germany in the sixteenth century, meaning perverse. From there its use broadened to the term, not straight. This did not mean sexual identity necessarily, but it did mean out of character or not totally normal. Since then it evolved ... Existentialism, prevalent through the 1940 60s, believes that living is made through choices, and if one is not living then they are simply existing. In Salinger s fiction novel, the Catcher in the Rye, he portrays existentialismthrough his main character, Holden, and his experiences as a teenager. Holden is faced with many decisions throughout his time at Pencey and since getting expelled. Salinger expresses the significance of the existentialist element of self choice through the protagonist s habitual decisions to distance himself from the controlling nature of society. When Holden describes his roommate, Stradlater, he describes a similar situation where Holden witnessed a girl telling Stradlater to stop and he wouldn t stop. Holden s decision to not carry through with sex depicts the existentialist element of choice which society disagrees with. This situation is repeated when Holden orders a stripper and decides not to have sex with her. Introduction Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade, business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even small difference can save considerable amount of money. Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their car efficiency which is associated with programs. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov). Many companies have many instructions in order to inform the costumers about fuel efficiency. However, on the other hand, none of these companies are certain on a particular car. That causes less motivation on drivers because they encounter with something mindboggling. • 22. The Impact Of Children On Children With Divorce In order to explore my topic and answer my inquiry question, I began by searching through a variety of website articles. I then searched through the articles and narrowed it down to two that had opposing views. Lastly, I conducted interviews with two primary sources. All these sources gave me a better understanding of my topic, and how to answer my question. 1.5 million children deal with divorce every year. Researchers have found that only a relatively small percentage of children experience severe problems in the wake of divorce. Also, they have found that most children, after the initial blow of divorce, only suffer for a short period of time. Many children experience short term negative effects from divorce. For example some of the effects include: anxiety, anger, shock and disbelief. These effects often disappear after the end of two years. In a quantitative review of the literature in 2001, a sociologist, Paul R. Amato, examined the possible effects on children several years after divorce. The studies compared children of married parents with those of divorced parents. The researchers followed kids into later childhood and adolescence. They assessed their academic achievement and emotional and behavioral problems. On average, the studies found only a small difference between children of divorced parents and those of married parents. Though, not everybody agrees on those premises. In recent years, the idea of what constitutes a married couple has changed. Traditionally, a man and a woman get married and live happily ever after. Over time, we have seen men and women of different colors and get married, as well as people of the same gender. Marriagehas changed and has become such a huge topic of conversation and debate. Homosexual marriages have now become legal in all the U.S. I do not support gaymarriages because homosexual couples should not have the right to get married, homosexual couples should not adopt without being judged, and also should not have the same financial benefits... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whenever a gay couple adopts a child, the couple should think about the child s stability. Adopting a child while being homosexual can have many effects on the child and how the child view things. A child that grows up in a gay house hold may grow up and think that it is okay to date someone of the same gender. Homosexual couples cannot produce children, so therefore they must adopt if they want children. A homosexual couple who adopts children does not take the children in consideration. In the article, In the Best Interests of the (Silenced) Child, the author says, to include children s voices would be to acknowledge children s agency and individuality and in doing so would undermine the figure of the passive, innocent and powerless child which sustains the best interests rhetoric. The author is basically saying that a child that is for adoption does not have a voice and no one takes in consideration of the child s feelings. After this attack the government of Canada used the war measures act to remove all Japanese Canadian citizens that live 160km from the Pacific Coast and put them in internment camps until 1949, four years after WW2. Fast Forward to 1988 and the Canadian government gives an apology to the Japanese, however the apology was for more than just Japanese Internment it was for the pain and suffering, discrimination, and for leaving Japanese citizens with nothing. One of the most justified reasons for the apology would be how the Canadian Government caused the pain and suffering amongst Japanese Canadians. Firstly, the 22,000 Japanese Canadian citizens and residents were taken from their homes on Canadas West Coast without any charge or due process and exiled to remote areas of Eastern British Columbia (Greg Robinson, Internment of Japanese Canadians). In addition, the RCMP arrested suspected operatives while the Royal Canadian Navy impounded 1,200 Japanese fishing boats, and to avoid racist backlash Japanese newspapers, as well as schools were voluntarily shut down. In this time the Japanese population in Canada had been greatly damaged and families became separated into the internment camps. Moving on, my second point for further justification is the Labor Camps Japanese Canadians were placed in, further increasing pain and suffering. Because of the amount of political ... The onset of the Middle Phase of Learning is a time of transition, many learners are keen to discover and investigate an extensive range of learning experiences. However, some learners begin to lose interest and progress in learning may diminish. The subsequent phase for learners, is filled with challenges. Physical, emotional, intellectual and social issues can impact upon students learning. For learners to be prepared for the senior phase of learning, student s curiosity and enthusiasm must be nurtured and further opportunities provided to enable learners to gain knowledge and skills if progress slows. They are also moving towards more rational decision making and an improved understanding of the consequences of behaviour. Middle Phase learners have an increasing interest in ethical and moral enquiries and exploring real world social issues. The numerical results are compared with the exact solution at special cases of the fractional derivatives. The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple. Keywords: Fractional differential equations; Caputo s derivative; Homotopy perturbation method. MSC 2010: 65N20; 41A30. INTRODUCTION Ordinary and partial fractional differential equations (FDEs) have been the focus of many studies due to their frequent appearance in various applications in damping laws, motion in Newtonian fluid, dynamical systems, viscoelasticity, biology, physics and engineering ([3], [6]). Consequently, considerable attention has been given to the solutions of fractional differential equations of physical interest. Most fractional differential equations do not have exact solutions, so numerical techniques ([12], [18]) must be used. Also, some untraditional approximate methods have recently been developed by scientists and engineers ([1], [14]). Price dispersion, competition, and the role of online travel agents: Evidence from business routes in the Italian airline market In this study they use research to further understand what s driving price dispersion? They investigate very distinct factors between online travel agents and airlines direct channels influence price dispersion. Airline markets are characterized by the existence of substantial price dispersion, to be intended as a measure of price variations in the market. Indeed, it is not unusual to see travelers on the same flight paying very different prices for the very same seats. This is due to the fact that airlines are able to distinguish among different types of customers and practice price discrimination, with the help of mechanisms such as advance selling, loyalty programs, nonrefundable tickets, etc. In addition, airline companies typically face uncertain demand with a fixed inventory consisting of very perishable products. Accordingly, they utilize revenue management systems to maximize revenues by dynamically adjusting prices for their seats based on whether the current booking is above or below expected values. The study of price dispersion in the airline industry can provide numerous important implications for firms, consumers and authorities in terms of firms pricing power, price discrimination, product differentiation, and reduction of search costs. Climate change is affect by many different factors in the world, 4 main contributors to climate change are gases which are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. What all of these types of gases have in common is that they all affect the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is warming that results when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from earth to space. Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas and also the most critical component because as the earth gets warmer by carbon dioxide more water vapor entries the atmosphere. Andrew Dessler and colleagues from Texas A M University in College Station confirmed heat amplifying effect of water vapor is potent enough to double the climate warming caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. • 35. Student Justifications for Abusing Adderall What Are U of M Students Perceptions of Adderall? INTRODUCTION With the increased pressure to succeed and the chaotic collegiate lifestyle taking a toll on students, Adderall has evolved into the go to drug. The Class II prescription amphetamine is intended to solely treat individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. The stimulant works to enhance concentration by stimulating the production of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain (Stolz 585). Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of Adderall on college campuses to enhance academic performance and cram for exams through the over stimulation of the brain, therefore creating super enhanced focus (Stolz 585), deeming it the smart drug. Due to the fact that several students are not truly diagnosed with ADHD, a majority of this use on campuses is illegal; this has become a growing problem affecting the health of students and entailing issues of competiveness and fairness (Jacobs 1). In recent years, the abuse of Adderall has circulated hundreds of college campuses and even secondary schools. Unfortunately, students are being deceived by the stimulant drug s valuable qualities, masking the serious, detrimental effects that the drug induces. The Problem Of Computer Programming Education Through the Educate to Innovate Initiative, the current administration has made the case that investments in STEM programs (science, technology, engineering and math) are essential to maintaining the status of international competitiveness. But since the start of the program in 2009, the importance of computerprogramming educationis still being misunderstood and inadequately addressed. Though the administration has tried to get more technology into schools, it s failed to teach kids what could really help them compete internationally which is coding. Computer programmingis the driving force behind all forms of computer technology. Without programmers, these machines could be more innovative and capable than mankind could ever imagine, but if there is no one to program, there is no way for computers to perform needed tasks. Though technology has become such a key point in the national discussion on education, computer literacy is still sometimes confused with computer science. Argumentative Essay Rough Draft Amateur Top Prospect Maxim Letunov, C, University of Connecticut (Hockey East) One half of a dynamic duo alongside of Kyle Connor (WPG) with the Youngstown Phantoms, Maxim Letunov is a streaky, lanky forward with a ton of offensive ability. Letunov is a shifty forward, who recently finished a 25 goal, 39 assist season in the USHL. While it s not one of the powerhouse NCAA schools, the University of Connecticut offers something that other schools may not have been able to, playing time. All reports suggest that Letunov will be given every opportunity to shine with plenty of playing time. Freshman to Watch Brendan Warren, LW, University of Michigan (Big Ten) One player who never wavered from his original hockey plans is Brendan Warren. As a native of Michigan and life long Wolverine hopeful, Warren will suit up for legendary Head Coach Red Berenson, staying comfortable right in Ann Arbor. Warren doesn t possess elite skills, but he did put up respectable numbers in the United States Development program, playing in a bottom six role. Warren is worthy of attention due to his size, instincts, and largely untapped potential. • 42. Education, Gender Roles And Humanism Education, Gender Roles and Humanism in the Renaissance. Throughout the fourteenth and into the fifteenth century there were a number of tragic events that directly caused a revitalization of society. This revitalization was needed to restore hope to the people that were living each day for survival. Some of these events were the destabilization of the Catholic Church with the relocation of the papacy from Rometo Avignon. This would soon be followed by the Black Death and its mammoth death toll that lead to the reduction of work forces and uprisings of peasants . At the same time England and France were fighting a series of wars that were later be deem The Hundred Years War and this battle would add to a western mindset that was being cultivated to expect death, destruction, violence, sickness and poverty. In the midst of this depressing and violent society, Italy and more specifically Florence, saw a need for change and to work towards the elevation of society, the creation of a new society, and a new mindset to bring about a more civil and cultured society. This lead to a new philosophy called Humanism and this Humanistic evolution of the educational system involved a total reconstruction of the university curriculum, as well as the resetting ideals of gender roles. In the beginning of this new society there was a great admiration for classic Roman culture and this was the model being used with a great focus on the arts, philosophy, religion, and honor. The ... • 43. Comparing Calvinism And Arminius Viewpoints And Touch On... Throughout history people have questioned election. The question is whether people are predestined to be called to heaven and can not reject the Holy Spirit s calling such as a John Calvin. Or do we have the free will to accept or deny the Holy Spirit s calling into our lives such as James Arminius believed. Or is it something else just as Karl Barth or Augustine believed in. But for the purpose of this paper we will look at Calvinismand Arminius viewpoints and touch on the view points of other theologians throughout history to come up with an accurate conclusion of which of the two main theological ideas is most likely the case of election. Election has always been a sensitive subject many in Christian circles. Most Christians lean... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the old and new testament he Understanding of election in terms of salvation was not clearly stated but there are scriptures in the Old Testament that you can see where election was in place. The Old Testament election mainly involved the nation of Israel. And when he chose the nation of Israel it almost seemed in a way that God chose the nation because he could. In Genesis God chose Abram later named Abraham to become a mighty nation from his seed and be a blessing to all nations (Genesis 18). And through that seed of Abraham in Deuteronomy chose Israel nation even though they where hard hearted often (Deut 9:6). But there are other examples outside the nation of Israel. Most notably Cyrus, Cyrus was chosen to rebuild the temple. God even revealed Himself to Cyrus but there is no evidence to suggest that Cyrus was in fact regenerated So it seems that the Old Testament does not support the concept that personal salvation is a result of individual election. In the New Testament there are verses on election and both sides to support their case. For example in Romans 8 it seems like that predestination is conformed when it mentions that we as believers would be predestined to be in Jesus image. In Ephesians 1 it states that we where predestined to be adopted. But in John 3 it seems that everyone is called to God. And in Ephesians 2 God gives us the gift of salvation. I think that what ... But one of the most prominent differences that I noticed was that in a socialist economy is that most major businesses are owned by the government so that the profits can be more evenly redistributed to the public. The capitalist free market allows private ownership of major businesses. The profits in this market are kept by the owners and shareholders of the company and not redistributed. The capitalist free market allows the right to own private property; the right to own a business and keep those profits from that business. This type of market also promotes the freedom of competition between businesses for innovations, efficiency, and price. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
