Historian Russell Kirk believes there are six basic tenets of all conservatism. To begin
conservatives believe in a transcendent order or body of natural law, which rules society as well
as conscience. Political problems at their roots are religious and or moral problems (9). The ideal
that religion and morality can have influence over political and social problems is widely seen in
the United States. The Republicans are often the choice of people with conservative Christian

Another important tenet of conservatism is a respect for the proliferating variety of human

Traditionally Linux security has been run using DAC ( Discretionary Access Control ), which is
based on users and groups to control which users and processes can access files and how they do
it. This runs into a problem since the owner of a file has control over its permissions which can be
less than ideal. SELinux ( Security Enhanced Linux ) implements MAC ( Mandatory Access Control
), which is under the direct control of the systems administrator and is located in the kernel where it
can control and enforce security, giving only the permissions needed to processes and users.
In the way of vulnerabilities I could not find much for SELinux, which is a testament to the
power of MAC. As secure as it may be, for most home users this system is a bit complicated and
can block services and make it look like a common error, making troubleshooting problematic. I
would still recommend using a firewall in conjunction with SELinux as security is best utilized
when it is layered in order to make attacks more difficult.

Learning about PowerPoint has been very stimulating for me; unit five has taught me a lot. I love
to use Microsoft PowerPoint, but until this unit, I did not fully understand how to use all of the
functions in Microsoft PowerPoint. I love the whole unit, so singling out three things will be hard
for me. I work as a Manager, and I am often preparing presentations. The three items in Microsoft
PowerPointthat I know I will apply to my everyday life are, Notes, Numbered list, and Charts. I
think through the whole unit these features were the ones that made me say, ok I will use that
for my upcoming presentation. Below I will explain why I chose each one of these functions.
First, I chose the Notes Function. The note section was a big deal for me. I usually write my
notes down in a notebook before my presentations. The problem I ran into was, I would always
get lost. I tried putting little symbols at the bottom of the page for talking points. The problem
here was, I could never remember what the talking point was about once I got to the symbol.
When I tried Microsoft PowerPoint Notes, I found I was no longer fumbling between papers
(Carlson, 2010). I loved it because I just stood and clicked no more papers. The Notes function
allows you to put information on the slides that you want to share that the audience cannot see

CLOSE UPS The movie that I chose to analyze is The Hunger Games. This movie is about a girl,
Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers as tribute for the seventy fourth annual Hunger Games in the

Katniss, the protagonist played by Jennifer Lawrence, is forced to go outside of her comfort
