The Effects Of Soda, Sports Drinks And Energy Drinks On...
In today s society, a high percentage of people consume beverages that contain added sugars and
acid, but what effects does this sugar and acid have on our tooth enamel? Are sports drinks better
for you than soda? This paper will discuss the effects of soda, sports drinks and energy drinks on
the enamel of a person s teeth, what is enamel and why is it important. Dental erosion is a chronic
loss of dental hard tissue that is chemically etched away from the tooth surface by acid. Most people
would believe that the sugar in drinks was the main reason for the damage to their teeth.
Although an excessive amount of sugar is not good for the teeth or body, it is the acid in the
drinks that prove to produce the most damage. I will also discuss solutions and ways to protect
and care for the health of teeth. It is very important to drink plenty of water and practice good oral
hygiene daily.
The enamel of teeth is the hardest and most highly mineralized substance in the body. It covers the
outer layer of each tooth, and it is the most visible part of the tooth. Tooth enamel, plays a very
important role in protecting teeth from decay, so it is important to do everything that will
prevent enamel from eroding. It forms a strong barrier that shields the inner layers of the teeth
from the effects of acids and plaque. It also protects the sensitive inner layers of the teeth from
foods and beverages that are very hot or very cold. If enamel is destroyed, the body does not make

The Implementation Of School Uniforms
Syanne Chhan
Mrs. Gallos
English III Honors
18 April 2016
Title of Your Report
A newly popular, controversial issue debated upon is the implementation of school uniforms. In the
United States, school uniforms have become more and more widespread. Although, some schools
disagree with the requirement of a school uniform and decide to require a school dress code
instead. The pros and cons of a school uniform are very controversial. Deciding whether a school
uniform should be implemented is not a black and white issue.
Arguments to support school uniforms state that school uniforms create an altogether better
environment for students. This better environment in turn, creates more learning and a greater
sense of focus from students. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Cons, Pro) Requiring all students to wear the same uniform creates less diversity and causes
students to become more dedicated in their academics. By doing so, uniforms, take away the daily
fashion show and helps level the playing field a little bit with the haves and have nots, (Sweeney,
Emily).
Relating to the less diversity that uniforms create in schools, uniforms can decrease the formation
of cliques and gangs. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same, members of a certain
gang can not be identified. Another positive about implementing uniforms is that students can be
easily identified and the identification of an intruder or outsider can take place easily.
Uniforms create pride and unity throughout a school. Some experts believe that uniforms help
students to, develop a stronger team mentality among the student body, (9 Serious). Uniforms can
in turn, increase school spirit. This is possible, again relating to, the students all wearing the same
or similar uniforms and decreasing the variety of outfits throughout a student body.
Some arguments that are seen as positives for enforcing school uniforms are controversial because
critics believe the arguments are not valid. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same and
less variety of outfits are prevalent, critics state that school uniforms deny students the ability of self
expression. Critics, argue that kids

Bridget Jones Analysis
Bridget Jones chronicles a year of her life via diary entries in Helen Fielding s book, justly titled
Bridget Jones Diary. The first person narrative entitles readers to Bridget s inner workings. Buried
inside we find something much darker than her hapless yet cheery blonde exterior would suggest
calorie counting compulsions, daily weigh ins, ruminations about her romance life, and much
more. Though blunt and revealing, Fielding s account of a 32 year old singleton s life fails to
subvert the woes its readership, and very own protagonist, face. Small advances on the frontline of
feminismare made, but mostly, the message of the novel remains as unchanged as Bridget does
come the end of the year. The message is of feminine upkeep, romantic pursuit, and ultimately,
self neglect. Bridget shows a contempt for mainstream beautification rituals, but ultimately, she
submits to them in the name of keeping up appearances. Prior to a date with her prized boss,
Daniel, Bridget takes extreme measures, presumably primping her body for hours: I have nearly
slipped a disc, wheezing through a step aerobics class, scratched my naked body for seven
minutes with a stiff brush; cleaned the flat; filled the fridge, plucked my eyebrows, skimmed the
papers and the Ultimate Sex Guide, put the washing in and waxed my own legs... (52). Her detailed
account seethes with annoyance, but Bridget nonetheless feels compelled to emulate what she sees
in the pages of Cosmopolitan. Briefly, Bridget does

Essay on Control Theory Corporate Crime
Conflict theory primarily argues that it is the economic system of capitalism itself that produces
crime however, in order to understand the causes of corporate crime, the neoliberal framework and
its utilization must be examined. Neoliberalism accords the state not to intervene or regulate the
market, and in effect produces inequality but most importantly crime. Criminal acts are committed
by the elites that are following the core of the neoliberal doctrine which is maximizing profits while
minimizing costs. Corporate crimes are committed by executives or executive officers on behalf of
corporations to further their own interests or the interest of the organizations . These crimes can
result in harming the working class which may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This result in a conflict between the culture of competition and ethical standards however,
corporations are not like humans they are artificial legal entities with perpetual life chartered by the
government for their existence (Nadar, 2004; pg 8). Corporations have achieved a status where they
have all constitutional rights that people have except the right against self incrimination.
Corporations engage in criminal activites on a number of different levels that harm and affect the
general public however, the public for the most part remains unaware of these activites because
these elites invest in hiding the truth which thereby renders their actions invisible.
THE INVISBALITY OF COPRORATE CRIME Secondly, Marxists argue that is it the connected
ability of the powerful to manipulate values of society which is why corporate crimes are rendered
invisible. Academics find it difficult to analyze corporate crime because large scale survey data is
not available so researchers have to rely on non objective crime statistics collected by impartial
government agencies such as StatsCan or the Home Office which usually yield tiny samples
(Snider, 2005; pg 186). Corporations do not want sociologist investigating their business practises,
unlike traditional offenders they have the ability to resist such incursions. On the other hand, the
justice department for the most part

The Evil, Manipulative Character of Cassius in Julius...
William Shakespeare the writer of Julius Caesar decided how Cassius would be portrayed in his
play. In the play, Cassius has an evil, manipulative personality; he can be your friend one minute
then Cassius can be your worst enemy. Although Cassius was not popular with the people of Rome,
he became the ringleader of the conspirators.
Cassius displays the personality of a shrewd opportunist, who doesn t believe in the rule of one
person. He believes there should be an elected set of officials; to decide on the laws for Rome. He
resides as a very close friend to Julius Caesar, before he became the Roman king. Cassius played a
large role in the assassination of Julius Caesar (I.ii.90 115). When Julius Caesar became godlike
to the roman people, Cassius had much dislike toward Julius. He thought that Julius appeared too
incompetent and weak to the point of embarrassment, and wanted him removed from the throne.
In the play, Cassius manipulates Brutus into thinking that Caesar has become too powerful and
that he needed to be killed. He also uses flattery to sway Brutus into becoming part of his plan
(I.ii.48 51). Cassius tricked Brutus into finally believing the Roman people wanted Caesar dead
by forging letters from the people that do convey these thoughts (I.iii.142 148). He also made
Brutus feel like it was his civic duty to the Roman people. Cassius seems like just a very evil or
cruel man, he committed suicide once he thought that his best friend Brutus was killed in the

Resurrection In Charles Dicken s A Tale Of Two Cities
The concept of resurrection has always been an alluring subject in all cultures. Some believe this
can be achieved through purification and repentance. Throughout the book, situations arise in
which characters allude to rising again in a new life. The reader sees to what length people will go
to bring about improvement in a beloved s life, or to achieve a much desired afterlife of one s own.
In Charles Dicken s novel, A Tale of Two Cities
, the idea of resurrectionplays a huge role in the
lives of many characters, including Dr. Manette, Sydney Carton, and Jerry Cruncher; the theme
also adds to Dickens s message by illustrating the importance of love, morality, and faith. One
very significant example is of Dr. Manette, who originally was traumatized as a result of his
unfair imprisonment but eventually is recalled to life (Dickens 13). While Dr. Manette was in
jail, he grappled exhaustingly every day trying to deal with his deteriorating mental state. His
time spent in the Bastille is compared to him being buried alive for this reason; it was so
inhumane and cruel that he felt dead. Dr. Manette was essentially being brought back to life with
his release from prison. However, Dr. Manette s rebirth has just begun and does not become
complete until he is reunited with his daughter (Dingyuan and Xiaohua 91). His freedom does not
only affect his life, it has a huge impact on his daughter and even other characters like Darnay.
Lucie s unconditional love for her father is

Food Guide Pyramid And Mypyramid
In June 2011, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and The Center for Nutrition
Policy and Promotion (CNPP) launched the MyPlate icon, a simple, yet powerful, visual cue to
prompt consumers to think about their food choices across food groups and to build a healthy
plate at meal times (Levine et al., 2012). MyPlate like its predecessors, the Food Guide Pyramid
and MyPyramid follow the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), which includes
communication tools and materials to assist with choosing healthy food options. In addition, the
MyPlate Web site encompasses the SuperTracker tool to personalize food plans, consumer
educational materials and e tools, social media engagement, and a partnership initiative to help
coordinate and disseminate consistent messages of the DGA (Levine et al., 2012). Research shows
that seventy two percent of individuals responsible for the purchasing and preparing of food for the
entire household have a strong influence over meal consumption. Therefore, by targeting those
individuals who purchase and prepare most of the food, the communication strategy for MyPlate
can be best employed for all users. However, since the launch of MyPlate the African American
community has failed to utilize the MyPlate website. Most importantly, African Americans are
disproportionately affected by obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, and it is
likely that a host of factors interact in complex, and yet unexplained, ways to

Music Is An Identifying Characteristic Of Film And Television
Music is an identifying characteristic of film and television; everyone who has been exposed to
popular culture knows the theme for Star Wars and The Simpsons, even if they have never seen
the movie or show. Disney movies are no exception, and this is largely due to the genius creative
mind of Alan Menken. Menken is best known for composing the scores for some of the most
beloved Disney classics, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Hercules,
Pocahontas, and Tangled. He also made his mark composing for highly acclaimed Broadway
musicals, including Little Shop of Horrorsand Newsies, as well as the stage adaptations of some of
his Disney hits. The familiar songs composed by Menken are permanently ingrained in our minds
and are largely responsible for the success of the films and theatrical works he was associated with.
Alan Menkenwas born on July 22nd, 1949 in New York City. He grew up in New Rochelle, New
York with his sisters, Faye and Leah. Menken s family was heavily involved in the performing
arts, setting the stage for his career at a young age. His mother, Judy Menken, was an aspiring
actress and playwright; his father, Norman Menken was a dentist but played boogie woogie and
show tunes on the piano as a hobby. Alan Menken aspired to be a composer from a young age, but
the men in his family typically became dentists and he felt that he was expected to continue this
tradition. However, he did learn to play the piano, violin, and guitar as he

The Personality Of Personality Variables
Personality variables have long been hypothesized to be related to expressions of feelings and
behaviors (Eysenck, 1992) and others have shown direct relationships with affect (Costa McCrae,
1984; Diener Emmons, 1984). There have been significant relationships reported especially for the
traits of extraversion and neuroticism. Generally, extraversion is positively correlated with positive
affect and neuroticism is positively correlated with negative affect. Results such as these make
sense in that extraverted individuals tend to enjoy human interaction, and be talkative, assertive,
and gregarious, especially in social situations. Introverts on the other hand, tend to be more
withdrawn, and take more pleasure in solitary activities such as reading and writing. It has been
hypothesized that extroverts experience higher levels of subjective well being, and this may be due
to the fact that they engage in more social interactions providing the opportunity for more life
circumstances, which in turn create the opportunity to experience more positive affectivity (Larsen
Ketelaar, 1991). The personality trait neuroticism is characterized by anxiety, moodiness, fear, and
frustration. Neurotic individuals also tend to respond more negatively to stressors and to report
ordinary situations as threatening and minor frustrations as hopelessly difficult (Ormel, Jeronimus,
Kotov, Riese, Bos, Hankin, 2013). Because of these tendencies, neurotic individuals tend to put

The Industrial Revolution Of Maryland By Lewis W. Hine And...
Following the end of the American Civil war, the Industrial Revolution came rushing in and brought
with it tremendous changes the mechanization of agriculture, the invention of steam and electricity
used machinery led to mass production factories, and the emergence of a massive railroad system.
Change in the economy and society brought great wealthto the United States. Consequently, it was a
giant magnet for immigrations. However, the distribution of wealth across the population was not
even. The American working class in the last half of nineteenth century suffered from povertyand
oppression. Several documentations and stories were written in response to the people suffering.
Two of them Child Labor in The Canning Industry of Maryland by Lewis W. Hine and Maggie: A
Girl of The Streets by Stephen Cranevividly described the living and working conditions for the
working poor. In the period of 1860 1900, the majority of the working class, including native born
and immigrants, clustered in two largest industrial areas: the North East industrial cities and the
West agriculture farms. In the West, agricultures were dominated by land and railroad companies.
Although the farming industry grew simultaneously, workers life did not improve. In fact, they
faced many hardships such as severe oppression from their owners, unfair payment for their work,
and serious lack of education for their children. In his 1909 report, Lewis H. Hine revealed the
harsh working condition

Education Inequality In Education
In order for education to have a positive impact in communities, it is essential to ensure equality in
learning for all people. This does not necessarily mean ensuring equality in education outcomes for
all people because individual factors such as competency and ability varies among people. Students
from poor families are more likely to attend schools with a worse infrastructure, less qualified
teachers, less ambitious peers, and outmoded practices. Because of this, they are more likely to
have lower learning outcomes. Therefore, reducing educational inequality will have positive effects
on developmental outcomes. Ensuring equality in educationdelivery will also reduce discontent in
countries and cities (Inequality in education: The challenge of Measurement). Because of this,
urgent solutions are needed to address educational inequality.
Duncan and Murnane argue that economic and educational inequality greatly affects children s
educational and developmental outcomes in Restoring Opportunity: The crisis of inequality and the
challenge for American education. Duncan and Murnane point out that since the 1970s, there has
been a shift in technology and globalization. This makes receiving a K 12 education more
important for life skills than it has been in the past. Since the 1970 s, globalization and
computerization have decreased blue collar jobs and enhanced the job market. Despite this, there is
still an issue of students attending and paying for college, and this problem is

hard to say whether Offred feels remorse or triumph for Janine. Offred started to think about
Janine s shoes: that s terrible, I say. It s like Janine though to take it upon herself, to decide the

revulsion. While she is in the same position as the other women at the Center, she seems to crave

This week we learned about psychological disorders, what could be the cause of them, and how
we try to treat each one of the disorders. In truth, it is a hard task to discern which of the known
disorders that were covered in the chapters assigned for us to read this week would be more
difficult for me to live with. Depression could cause me to feel like everything I did would not
really amount to anything, deal with insomnia, and unable to find pleasure in my daily life.
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can result from a terrifying or shocking event; this could
result in me having to experience the ordeal over and over again at any given time, losing sleep,

Signs of Stress in the Police Profession
What issues can be a sign of stress in the police profession and what could be done to help
prevent it? All aspects of any job can be stressful. There are several different factors that can
cause stress. The cause of stress in the police profession is characterized by job related stress and
fatigue. According to Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary (2013), stress in general is a
physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a
factor in disease causation (Full definition of stress, 1c.). Job stress may involve the type of
work your do, your boss, or co workers or your hours you work. When it comes to job stress, it
can take a toll on your productivity, as well as your physical and emotional health. Job related
stress is one of the most common causes of heart disease in the workplace. However, in my
current career as a Deputy Sheriff, I have more stress from work related issues then the stress
that comes from everyday life. Besides the job related stress issues and concerns, my job is very
rewarding to me. I have the opportunity to help people and give them a sense of security.
However, there are times where the workplace is not so rewarding because we are over worked
and under paid. Also the constant changes to the workplace policies and procedures are designed
to benefit the employer instead of the employee is major cause in job stress. These types of
stressful situations may affect policepersonnel on every level.

He has spoken at several conferences on the subject. The Rotman School s magazine, Rotman
Management, published a special issue on design in winter 2004 and on creativity in spring
/summer 2006. In addition, Rotman hosted a conference, entitled The Future of the MBA in
March 2006 that brought together the major critics of MBA programs. On the Rotman School s
website, Martin claims: we are on the cusp of a design revolution in business, and as a result,
today s business people don t need to understand designers better, they need to become designers.
In this interview, Martin describes his interest in design thinking, how it will affect management
education, and how it can address some of the criticisms recently leveled at MBA programs.
How did you become interested in the topic of design in relation to management? It started with
my encounters with Hambly and Woolley, a small design firm here in Toronto. Just by osmosis I
got interested in the way they would think about problems. For example, one assignment was a
hunting lodge where the owner was bankrupt and was selling off all of his property. The
designer had to do a selling brochure for this extremely fancy lodge, but there was no budget for
it. I was so fascinated with what he did: He created a very rough photo album with shots of the
lodge mounted with those little black corners. I was fascinated at how he took this on with such
joy, this notion of how on earth could

The breach was carried through what is referred to as a memory scraping software, which once
installed in a computer, is able to store sensitive information such as: names and credit card

to the company s POS system. What is scary is that this malicious software could have been
downloaded by a target employee after innocently clicking on a link from an anonymous email or
downloading a free disguised software program from the internet. The software could have also
been installed by the thieves themselves through a physical security breach into any of Target s

could have also intentionally come from someone within the IT department in the organization.
Whichever the case may be, I guess we will never know. What is important to recognize though,
was this giant s response to deter the breach and its actions in restoring and improving the

The Boss Baby DreamWorks Animation created The Boss Baby, directed by Henden Butoy and
Tom McGrath. The Boss Baby is a film that tells the story of the Templeton family and how a
new baby turned their world upside down. The movie is narrated through the eyes of little Tim.
The film uses Tim s overactive imagination to create his depiction of his own childhood. Tim tells
elaborate stories about how his life is greatly affected by their arrival of the Boss Baby. In The
Boss Baby, Tim transitions from his role as an only child to the role of an older brother who now
has a sibling. One of the prevalent factors in The Boss Baby is the differences amongst the

Color Vision Development in Infants
Color Vision Development in Infants: The Responsibility of Cone Types and Wavelength in
Order of Color Development It is a wonderful thing to witness a sunset and see all the various
colors that occur in our world. What would it be like if we didn t view the sunset with all the
beautiful colors that are perceived in it? According to Brown, Lindsey, Mcsweeney, and Walters,
(1994) without factoring in brightness, newborn infants cannot differentiate between colors. This
was found by testing infants in forced choice preferential looking experiments or FPL
experiments (Brown et al., 1994). It is astonishing to think that we haven t always viewed the
world in various vibrant colors. So at what point do we as individuals develop full color... Show

Infants that were aged 4 weeks and 9 weeks were evaluated in a study that looked at red/ green
color and it was found that the responses to the stimuli for nine week old infants were greater in
response to the stimuli than four week old infants (Teller Palmer, 1996). Is it possible that the
younger infants in the study by Teller and Palmer (1996) had not yet fully matured their s cone
receptors? At what age does the color green develop in infants? Does the amount of s cones we
have contribute and affect the order in which we develop color? According to a blog by Jones
(2013), a retinal neuroscientist and photographer, tritanopia colorblind people have s (blue)
cones absent and have issues deciphering between blue and green, infants might not be able to
see blue yet (Robin, 2014), so as a replacement for blue, I am going to use gray as the comparing
color. I predict that infants three weeks old will see the green and gray colors differently, and have
an increase in gaze time on the color green while previously viewing gray or red.
Hypothesis
Infants that are three weeks old will be at the beginning stages of maturing s cones, which should
enable them to begin viewing green and will in turn prefer the color green (longer gaze time)
because it is new in their development of color. Independent variables of the study will be which
color is shown to the infants.

PICC Line Analysis
When hearing the term PICC line it maybe rather confusing; that is unless you re in the medical
profession or have a family member that has one. First, the name that groups all of them together
is called; a central venous catheter. A PICC line is just one of many. It is described as a
peripherally inserted central catheter; otherwise called PICC line. It is a long, thin, flexible tube
that is inserted under the skin into a vein in the arm rather than a vein in the neck or chest. (
WebMD ). The purpose of the PICC is to give medicines, fluids and blood products over an
extended period of time. Those with cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, Lyme disease and total
parenteral nutrition or (TPN) are common reason that a PICC line could be used for. PICC lines
are thought to be a safer and simpler way to distribute needed treatments. Fewer than 10% of
patients have trouble or generate a venous injury. ( Peripherally Inserted Central Cathetersand Other

Comparing Gilgamesh And Amarna Letters
In the Babylonian pantheon, Nabu, son of Marduk, invented bestowed the art of writing in
cuneiform to man, although it s commonly accepted that it began in the late fourth millennium
B.C.E. With it, people kept records of trades and inventories, wrote chronicles of their kings,
epics depicting legendary characters like Gilgamesh, and sonnets to recite to worship their gods.
While many could stake some claim to basic literacy, scribes were the only ones able to truly
master the language afters year of practice, leading to information on the daily lives of
Babylonians being omitted from our knowledge. However, kings had the luxury of personal

ABSTRACT
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an important role in stimulating the growth potentials and
providing stability to the economy of Saudi Arabia. Our findings show that there are mainly four
factors which determine the net FDI flow to Saudi Arabia. These are GDP, Privatization, Import
and Export and Growth rate of GDP. There exists a positive relationship between FDI and GDP
and GDP growth rate while it is negatively related to privatisation and imports plus exports taken ...

2. LITERATURE REVIEW
Estimates reported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD,1997)
suggest that several countries have experienced very rapid growth of the private sector during
the transition period. A number of studies have suggested that investment and growth in
developing economies is positively associated with indicators of openness and export promotion
(Balasubramanyam et al., 1996). Such findings may suggest that investors prefer countries with
relatively liberal trade regimes and few constraints on profit repatriation, possibly within regions
with wider supra national free trade arrangements. De Mello (2000) analyzed the time series and
panel data for 32 OECD and non OECD countries for the period 1970 90. He estimated the
impact of FDI on capital accumulation and output growth in the recipient economy supporting the
FDI led growth hypothesis. Similarly, Soto (2000); Alfaro, Chanda, Kalelmi Ozcan, Sayek
(2004); Li and Liu (2005) found positive impact of FDI on GDP growth. They all used FDI
measure as percentage of GDP. Liu et al. (2002) examined the long run relationship between
economic growth, FDI and trade in China. A study on the quarterly data for imports,

All Quiet on the Western Front by Ericha Maria Remarque
I think it [war] is more of a kind of fever. No one in particular wants it, and then all at once there
it is. We didn t want the war, the others say the same thing and yet half the world is in it all the
same. (206) Erich Remarque describes how war is an odd sort of happening through Albert
Kropp, one of the most intelligent young men of Paul Bäumer s company. Remarque, himself a
German World War 1 veteran, uses the characters of Paul s company to channel his frustrations
from his experiences during the war. The vivid imagery used to describe bombardments and life at
the front allows the reader to visualize the reality of warfare. It s bloody, messy, and repulsive.
Extreme detail aids Remarque in exposing the atrocities of war, and its repercussions. All Quiet on
the Western Frontfocuses on an anti war theme, and how war itself has no purpose other than to be
savage and wasteful.
Some aspects of the novel serve as symbol for important things Remarque would like the audience
to note. Kemmerich s boots are the most prominent example. The soft leather boots are passed
down from man to man after one dies, and it isn t thought of in depth. Kemmerich takes them from
a deceased airman, and after he dies, MГјller is the owner. Paul then inherits the boots from
MГјller. The footwear symbolises the nonchalance of war, and how one must remain practical.

The Holy Virgin Church in Harat Zuwayla
Forms and Symbolism: Manifestation of Christian Beliefs in Art and Architecture
Picture showing the altar of the church
Christianity was first introduced to Egypt through the teachings of Saint Mark the Evangelist, the
founder of the Coptic Church and the writer of the oldest gospel available to date. As a result,
various worshiping houses or churches were built in Egypt throughout the Coptic era. These
churches were deeply influenced by the Christian beliefs and this can be clearly seen in their
interior and exterior structure. One good example of an ancient church founded long ago in Egypt
is the Holy Virgin Church in Harat Zuwayla.
The Holy Virgin Church in Harat Zuwayla is one of, if not the oldest churches in Egypt. As El
Makrizi once said, it was founded around 352 AD before the city of Cairo was to be known by
almost 6 centuries. During the Holy family s flight while visiting Egypt, they passed by the
church s location, they rested and took shelter in Harat Zuwayla where there was a well which was
believed to be blessed by the Christ.

Liberation Theology Essay
Introduction According to Enns (2008), liberation theology attempts to infer the holy writ through
the plight of the poor. This movement originated from South America in the early 1950s when
Marxism was the most popular theory among the poor. It was a response to the ill treatment and
poverty facing the ordinary people. It dealt with the issue of distribution of wealth among people in
order to upgrade the economic status in life. This movement had strong Romanian Catholic roots
bolstered in Colombia in 1968 at a conference where, the bishops proposed a merger between the
Karl Marx teachings with those of Jesus Christ. Liberation theology support was immense but
various critiques across the religious framework (Novak, 1991). This movement... Show more

However, emergence of negative results due to black liberation was evident. This is because the
theory tends to separate the black and white Christian communities thus enhancing racism which is
not religious or biblical. By critically analysing the biblical way of life, a level of unity among the
people who share the same doctrine of Christ is expected. Black Liberation Theology initially
intended to assist the black community, but in reality it ended up hurting the more. It promoted
negative values for instance: racial tension, victimization, and Marxism ultimately leading to more
oppression. Latin American Liberation Theology The liberation theory originally developed from
ideologies and activities instigated by the Catholic missionaries in the colonial Latin America.
Latin American Liberation Theology says that there is oppression and exploitation of poor people
by the rich capitalist nations. The Latin people developed the theology by radical interpretation of
the bible biased to the people. The inclusion of armed pastors was one of the characteristics that
brought this movement in the limelight. This yearning for change got spurred by armed revolution.
This is why; so many churches had people carrying guns and other weapons to shoe how they were
fighting for their liberation. Critique of the Latin American Liberation Theology Latin American
Liberation Theology is one of the theologies that had a lot of impact on the

Furthermore, in 2013 European commission rules that EU countries were not allowed to offer

Honey Bees Case Study
My thoughts on this article of honeybee and building construction and how we humans use their
ideas in daily living when it comes to building is astonishing to me. Even at the beginning of the

considering the weight ratio of a single comb to the honeyitself a good example of this weight ratio
that the article used is the Space shuttle uses honey comb shaped winged designs. Yet it s strong
and lightweight like a Bees honey comb. Inside temperatures and inside hive temperatures are
extremely similar. Although we humans rely on HVAC systems for our own comfort honey bees
do the same with great precision. From late winter to early autumn, the annual period of brood
rearing by honey beecolonies, the temperature in the broodnest region of each colony s hive is
precisely regulated between 33ВєC and 36ВєC, averaging 34.5ВєC and varying less than 1ВєC
across the day. This impressive temperature stability is accomplished through a set of mechanisms
whereby colonies either heat or cool the broodnest, depending on the ambient temperature... (Seeley

Comparing Bottlerack, Barnett Newman s Eve And Ana Mendieta
The three works that will be compared are Marcel Duchamp s Bottlerack, Barnett Newman s Eve
and Ana Mendieta s Silueta. Placed together the pieces show us three varying genres, each from
different periods in the twentieth century. Between the artists we also see obvious connections
in how they have challenged the spectator, and the art world alike, in viewing their art. All artists
removed something , be it a body in Silueta or the purpose of the Bottlerack and Eve s figurative
form or vanishing point. All were met with a critique of the processes in which their work were
produced and likewise they also received admiration for their forward thinking, progressive art.
There is a noticeable difference in the creative processes that have taken place to produce these
works. Duchamp, it could be argued, has taken the least time in producing or creating his
Bottlerack. After all, Duchamp was the inventor ...of the readymade... (Gaiger, 2003. p.63). Also

music, while most other bands will go with the most generic and overused melodies showed in
countless rock songs, that was not just in one specific area in the world. This British Invasion
gave so much credit to a lot of talented artist who just so happened to come from the Britain area.
Because of this, this changed a lot of styles in younger generations and the overall culture of

The Use of Biometrics
There have been use of Biometrics which can be traced as far back to 500 BC, but where does its
future lay in the 21st century and beyond? Exactly what is Biometrics and its proposed
applications; will it truly be as useful or will it be a hindrance? Currently, which nations along with
the international corporations are in the market for such a medium and who are the pioneers, trying
to advance Biometrics; into something more streamlined? Will Biometrics truly have as much of
an impact on the digital industry as predicted? Or is it all hype? Lastly, what are the advantages
and disadvantages when applying Biometrics in today s world?
What do we define as biometrics, is it something which can be emulated by another being or is it
absolutely unique to one s self that it can never be copied and disturbed for others to use? By
definition, Biometrics is derived from the Greek words bio meaning life and metrics meaning to
measure. By today s standards, Biometrics uses cutting edge technologies to identify terrorists and
criminals. (Nadeau) Many revolutionary ideas regarding Biometrics have been based on ideas
which were originally conceived hundreds, maybe even thousands of years ago. Since the early
days of man, we have been practicing to distinguish other humans based on intrinsic physical or
behavioral traits. Early Babylonian and Chinese merchants kept records of: fingerprints, palm

Information Technology And Service Management
What is ITIL? Information technology infrastructure library gives businesses a set of best practices
and theories to adopt in order to sustain and develop a successful IT service management function.
ITIL has been created by the UK government s central Computer Telecommunication agency, which
is not only used by the UK but internationally by government bodies to commercial organizations
(Wheatcroft, 2007). The framework covers best practices for 13 service level management
processes, which are crucial for every day business functions, which include: Availability
management Service level management Incident management Problem management Financial
management Configuration management Capacity management Change management Continuity
management Release management Knowledge management IT service continuity management
Security Management As it would be inconvenient to have 13 publications, these processes have
been merged together to create 5 publications that make up ITIL: Service strategy, focuses on
creating a set of IT services for the customer based on their requirements (Knapp, 2014). Service
design focuses on the development and maintenance of these services (Knapp, 2014). Service
transition focuses on these new services and adjustment to the company, without causing disruption
(Knapp, 2014). Service operation focuses on creating effective IT support for these IT services
(Knapp, 2014). Continual service improvements focus on

Chemiluminescence Lab
In this experiment, luminol, a compound that produces chemiluminescence when oxidized in the
presence of a base by an oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide, was synthesized, and its presence
was confirmed by observing chemiluminescence. Cheminluminescence is the process by which a
photon is released when a reaction occurs, producing light. A similar process, bioluminescenceis
observed in nature when fireflies and jellyfish produce light. Chemiluminescence is identical to
bioluminescence, except for the fact that bioluminescence involves an enzyme, whereas
chemiluminescence uses a chemical catalyst.
Two types of light emission are fluorescence and phosphorescence. In its stable condition, an
electron exists in a ground singlet state. During a reaction, it may absorb energy and become
elevated to an excited state. In most situations, the electron returns to the ground singlet state by
passing through a number of vibrational states and releasing energy, which is not perceived by the
human eye. However, sometimes an electron may release energy all at once in one packet to go
from its excited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nitro group was then reduced using sodium hydroulfite dihydrate, a reducing agent, to form an
amino group. This reaction was easily reversible. The product formed was luminol, and in the
presence of potassium ferrocyanide, an oxidizing agent, and hydroxide groups from KOH to
deprotonate the product, its two amide groups formed two carboxylate groups, releasing NH2 in the
process. The energy from this reaction also excited an electron in the HOMO (highest occupied
molecular orbital) to the triplet state LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital). This electron
then relaxed into a singlet excited state, before relaxing down to the ground state, releasing a
photon in a fluorescence like chemiluminescence

The Media Of The Oil Spill Of 2010 From China, The United...
Modern culture thrives on news media as our primary source of information, but this creates an
information overload from all of the various perspectives in coverage. Media coverage is
essential is our development and understanding of international affairs. Therefore, the biases in
coverage can have drastic effects in our interpretation of world s news. Countries tend to present
their news in a way that favors them and their governmental responses, but coverage of other
nations can be telling of their relations. The use of word choice, tone, and even selective use of
quotes can have drastic effects on people s perceptions of the information from the media. This
can be observed in the media analysis of the Xingang Port oil spill of 2010 through news sources
from China, the United States, and Ireland. While some nuances of American news mediastill
portray competition between the United States and China, the portrayal of the oil spill proves that
both countries are working toward improving relations with each other.
The relationship between China and United States previous to the spill was pretty stable in
regards to oil and energy. But the United States was feeling increasingly frustrated with the
Chinese trade policy as they refused to revalue the Yuan. In 2010, China was both the second
largest consumer and the second largest importer of crude oil behind the United States (Hays).
China had begun collecting oil for its national oil reserve in 2004 and most of this oil is

  • 2. The Effects Of Soda, Sports Drinks And Energy Drinks On... In today s society, a high percentage of people consume beverages that contain added sugars and acid, but what effects does this sugar and acid have on our tooth enamel? Are sports drinks better for you than soda? This paper will discuss the effects of soda, sports drinks and energy drinks on the enamel of a person s teeth, what is enamel and why is it important. Dental erosion is a chronic loss of dental hard tissue that is chemically etched away from the tooth surface by acid. Most people would believe that the sugar in drinks was the main reason for the damage to their teeth. Although an excessive amount of sugar is not good for the teeth or body, it is the acid in the drinks that prove to produce the most damage. I will also discuss solutions and ways to protect and care for the health of teeth. It is very important to drink plenty of water and practice good oral hygiene daily. The enamel of teeth is the hardest and most highly mineralized substance in the body. It covers the outer layer of each tooth, and it is the most visible part of the tooth. Tooth enamel, plays a very important role in protecting teeth from decay, so it is important to do everything that will prevent enamel from eroding. It forms a strong barrier that shields the inner layers of the teeth from the effects of acids and plaque. It also protects the sensitive inner layers of the teeth from foods and beverages that are very hot or very cold. If enamel is destroyed, the body does not make more to ... • 3. The Implementation Of School Uniforms Syanne Chhan Mrs. Gallos English III Honors 18 April 2016 Title of Your Report A newly popular, controversial issue debated upon is the implementation of school uniforms. In the United States, school uniforms have become more and more widespread. Although, some schools disagree with the requirement of a school uniform and decide to require a school dress code instead. The pros and cons of a school uniform are very controversial. Deciding whether a school uniform should be implemented is not a black and white issue. Arguments to support school uniforms state that school uniforms create an altogether better environment for students. This better environment in turn, creates more learning and a greater sense of focus from students. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Cons, Pro) Requiring all students to wear the same uniform creates less diversity and causes students to become more dedicated in their academics. By doing so, uniforms, take away the daily fashion show and helps level the playing field a little bit with the haves and have nots, (Sweeney, Emily). Relating to the less diversity that uniforms create in schools, uniforms can decrease the formation of cliques and gangs. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same, members of a certain gang can not be identified. Another positive about implementing uniforms is that students can be easily identified and the identification of an intruder or outsider can take place easily. Uniforms create pride and unity throughout a school. Some experts believe that uniforms help students to, develop a stronger team mentality among the student body, (9 Serious). Uniforms can in turn, increase school spirit. This is possible, again relating to, the students all wearing the same or similar uniforms and decreasing the variety of outfits throughout a student body. Some arguments that are seen as positives for enforcing school uniforms are controversial because critics believe the arguments are not valid. Due to the fact that all students are dressed the same and less variety of outfits are prevalent, critics state that school uniforms deny students the ability of self expression. Critics, argue that kids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Bridget Jones Analysis Bridget Jones chronicles a year of her life via diary entries in Helen Fielding s book, justly titled Bridget Jones Diary. The first person narrative entitles readers to Bridget s inner workings. Buried inside we find something much darker than her hapless yet cheery blonde exterior would suggest calorie counting compulsions, daily weigh ins, ruminations about her romance life, and much more. Though blunt and revealing, Fielding s account of a 32 year old singleton s life fails to subvert the woes its readership, and very own protagonist, face. Small advances on the frontline of feminismare made, but mostly, the message of the novel remains as unchanged as Bridget does come the end of the year. The message is of feminine upkeep, romantic pursuit, and ultimately, self neglect. Bridget shows a contempt for mainstream beautification rituals, but ultimately, she submits to them in the name of keeping up appearances. Prior to a date with her prized boss, Daniel, Bridget takes extreme measures, presumably primping her body for hours: I have nearly slipped a disc, wheezing through a step aerobics class, scratched my naked body for seven minutes with a stiff brush; cleaned the flat; filled the fridge, plucked my eyebrows, skimmed the papers and the Ultimate Sex Guide, put the washing in and waxed my own legs... (52). Her detailed account seethes with annoyance, but Bridget nonetheless feels compelled to emulate what she sees in the pages of Cosmopolitan. Briefly, Bridget does ... • 5. Essay on Control Theory Corporate Crime Conflict theory primarily argues that it is the economic system of capitalism itself that produces crime however, in order to understand the causes of corporate crime, the neoliberal framework and its utilization must be examined. Neoliberalism accords the state not to intervene or regulate the market, and in effect produces inequality but most importantly crime. Criminal acts are committed by the elites that are following the core of the neoliberal doctrine which is maximizing profits while minimizing costs. Corporate crimes are committed by executives or executive officers on behalf of corporations to further their own interests or the interest of the organizations . This result in a conflict between the culture of competition and ethical standards however, corporations are not like humans they are artificial legal entities with perpetual life chartered by the government for their existence (Nadar, 2004; pg 8). Corporations have achieved a status where they have all constitutional rights that people have except the right against self incrimination. Corporations engage in criminal activites on a number of different levels that harm and affect the general public however, the public for the most part remains unaware of these activites because these elites invest in hiding the truth which thereby renders their actions invisible. THE INVISBALITY OF COPRORATE CRIME Secondly, Marxists argue that is it the connected ability of the powerful to manipulate values of society which is why corporate crimes are rendered invisible. Academics find it difficult to analyze corporate crime because large scale survey data is not available so researchers have to rely on non objective crime statistics collected by impartial government agencies such as StatsCan or the Home Office which usually yield tiny samples (Snider, 2005; pg 186). Corporations do not want sociologist investigating their business practises, unlike traditional offenders they have the ability to resist such incursions. • 6. The Evil, Manipulative Character of Cassius in Julius... William Shakespeare the writer of Julius Caesar decided how Cassius would be portrayed in his play. In the play, Cassius has an evil, manipulative personality; he can be your friend one minute then Cassius can be your worst enemy. Although Cassius was not popular with the people of Rome, he became the ringleader of the conspirators. Cassius displays the personality of a shrewd opportunist, who doesn t believe in the rule of one person. He believes there should be an elected set of officials; to decide on the laws for Rome. He resides as a very close friend to Julius Caesar, before he became the Roman king. Cassius played a large role in the assassination of Julius Caesar (I.ii.90 115). When Julius Caesar became godlike to the roman people, Cassius had much dislike toward Julius. He thought that Julius appeared too incompetent and weak to the point of embarrassment, and wanted him removed from the throne. In the play, Cassius manipulates Brutus into thinking that Caesar has become too powerful and that he needed to be killed. He also uses flattery to sway Brutus into becoming part of his plan (I.ii.48 51). Cassius tricked Brutus into finally believing the Roman people wanted Caesar dead by forging letters from the people that do convey these thoughts (I.iii.142 148). He also made Brutus feel like it was his civic duty to the Roman people. Cassius seems like just a very evil or cruel man, he committed suicide once he thought that his best friend Brutus was killed in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Resurrection In Charles Dicken s A Tale Of Two Cities The concept of resurrection has always been an alluring subject in all cultures. Some believe this can be achieved through purification and repentance. Throughout the book, situations arise in which characters allude to rising again in a new life. The reader sees to what length people will go to bring about improvement in a beloved s life, or to achieve a much desired afterlife of one s own. In Charles Dicken s novel, A Tale of Two Cities , the idea of resurrectionplays a huge role in the lives of many characters, including Dr. Manette, Sydney Carton, and Jerry Cruncher; the theme also adds to Dickens s message by illustrating the importance of love, morality, and faith. One very significant example is of Dr. Manette, who originally was traumatized as a result of his unfair imprisonment but eventually is recalled to life (Dickens 13). While Dr. Manette was in jail, he grappled exhaustingly every day trying to deal with his deteriorating mental state. His time spent in the Bastille is compared to him being buried alive for this reason; it was so inhumane and cruel that he felt dead. Dr. Manette was essentially being brought back to life with his release from prison. However, Dr. Manette s rebirth has just begun and does not become complete until he is reunited with his daughter (Dingyuan and Xiaohua 91). • 9. Food Guide Pyramid And Mypyramid In June 2011, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and The Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) launched the MyPlate icon, a simple, yet powerful, visual cue to prompt consumers to think about their food choices across food groups and to build a healthy plate at meal times (Levine et al., 2012). MyPlate like its predecessors, the Food Guide Pyramid and MyPyramid follow the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), which includes communication tools and materials to assist with choosing healthy food options. In addition, the MyPlate Web site encompasses the SuperTracker tool to personalize food plans, consumer educational materials and e tools, social media engagement, and a partnership initiative to help coordinate and disseminate consistent messages of the DGA (Levine et al., 2012). Research shows that seventy two percent of individuals responsible for the purchasing and preparing of food for the entire household have a strong influence over meal consumption. Therefore, by targeting those individuals who purchase and prepare most of the food, the communication strategy for MyPlate can be best employed for all users. However, since the launch of MyPlate the African American community has failed to utilize the MyPlate website. Most importantly, African Americans are disproportionately affected by obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, and it is likely that a host of factors interact in complex, and yet unexplained, ways to ... • 10. Music Is An Identifying Characteristic Of Film And Television Music is an identifying characteristic of film and television; everyone who has been exposed to popular culture knows the theme for Star Wars and The Simpsons, even if they have never seen the movie or show. Disney movies are no exception, and this is largely due to the genius creative mind of Alan Menken. Menken is best known for composing the scores for some of the most beloved Disney classics, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Pocahontas, and Tangled. He also made his mark composing for highly acclaimed Broadway musicals, including Little Shop of Horrorsand Newsies, as well as the stage adaptations of some of his Disney hits. The familiar songs composed by Menken are permanently ingrained in our minds and are largely responsible for the success of the films and theatrical works he was associated with. Alan Menkenwas born on July 22nd, 1949 in New York City. He grew up in New Rochelle, New York with his sisters, Faye and Leah. Menken s family was heavily involved in the performing arts, setting the stage for his career at a young age. His mother, Judy Menken, was an aspiring actress and playwright; his father, Norman Menken was a dentist but played boogie woogie and show tunes on the piano as a hobby. • 11. The Personality Of Personality Variables Personality variables have long been hypothesized to be related to expressions of feelings and behaviors (Eysenck, 1992) and others have shown direct relationships with affect (Costa McCrae, 1984; Diener Emmons, 1984). There have been significant relationships reported especially for the traits of extraversion and neuroticism. Generally, extraversion is positively correlated with positive affect and neuroticism is positively correlated with negative affect. Results such as these make sense in that extraverted individuals tend to enjoy human interaction, and be talkative, assertive, and gregarious, especially in social situations. Introverts on the other hand, tend to be more withdrawn, and take more pleasure in solitary activities such as reading and writing. It has been hypothesized that extroverts experience higher levels of subjective well being, and this may be due to the fact that they engage in more social interactions providing the opportunity for more life circumstances, which in turn create the opportunity to experience more positive affectivity (Larsen Ketelaar, 1991). The personality trait neuroticism is characterized by anxiety, moodiness, fear, and frustration. Neurotic individuals also tend to respond more negatively to stressors and to report ordinary situations as threatening and minor frustrations as hopelessly difficult (Ormel, Jeronimus, Kotov, Riese, Bos, Hankin, 2013). Following the end of the American Civil war, the Industrial Revolution came rushing in and brought with it tremendous changes the mechanization of agriculture, the invention of steam and electricity used machinery led to mass production factories, and the emergence of a massive railroad system. Change in the economy and society brought great wealthto the United States. Consequently, it was a giant magnet for immigrations. However, the distribution of wealth across the population was not even. The American working class in the last half of nineteenth century suffered from povertyand oppression. Several documentations and stories were written in response to the people suffering. Two of them Child Labor in The Canning Industry of Maryland by Lewis W. Hine and Maggie: A Girl of The Streets by Stephen Cranevividly described the living and working conditions for the working poor. In the period of 1860 1900, the majority of the working class, including native born and immigrants, clustered in two largest industrial areas: the North East industrial cities and the West agriculture farms. In the West, agricultures were dominated by land and railroad companies. Although the farming industry grew simultaneously, workers life did not improve. In fact, they faced many hardships such as severe oppression from their owners, unfair payment for their work, and serious lack of education for their children. In his 1909 report, Lewis H. • 15. Education Inequality In Education In order for education to have a positive impact in communities, it is essential to ensure equality in learning for all people. This does not necessarily mean ensuring equality in education outcomes for all people because individual factors such as competency and ability varies among people. Students from poor families are more likely to attend schools with a worse infrastructure, less qualified teachers, less ambitious peers, and outmoded practices. Because of this, they are more likely to have lower learning outcomes. Therefore, reducing educational inequality will have positive effects on developmental outcomes. Ensuring equality in educationdelivery will also reduce discontent in countries and cities (Inequality in education: The challenge of Measurement). Because of this, urgent solutions are needed to address educational inequality. Duncan and Murnane argue that economic and educational inequality greatly affects children s educational and developmental outcomes in Restoring Opportunity: The crisis of inequality and the challenge for American education. Duncan and Murnane point out that since the 1970s, there has been a shift in technology and globalization. This makes receiving a K 12 education more important for life skills than it has been in the past. Since the 1970 s, globalization and computerization have decreased blue collar jobs and enhanced the job market. There are several different factors that can cause stress. The cause of stress in the police profession is characterized by job related stress and fatigue. According to Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary (2013), stress in general is a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation (Full definition of stress, 1c.). Job stress may involve the type of work your do, your boss, or co workers or your hours you work. When it comes to job stress, it can take a toll on your productivity, as well as your physical and emotional health. Job related stress is one of the most common causes of heart disease in the workplace. How did you become interested in the topic of design in relation to management? It started with my encounters with Hambly and Woolley, a small design firm here in Toronto. Just by osmosis I got interested in the way they would think about problems. For example, one assignment was a hunting lodge where the owner was bankrupt and was selling off all of his property. The designer had to do a selling brochure for this extremely fancy lodge, but there was no budget for it. What is scary is that this malicious software could have been downloaded by a target employee after innocently clicking on a link from an anonymous email or downloading a free disguised software program from the internet. The software could have also been installed by the thieves themselves through a physical security breach into any of Target s thousands of stores nationwide or even in its headquarters. To make matters even worse, the breach could have also intentionally come from someone within the IT department in the organization. Whichever the case may be, I guess we will never know. What is important to recognize though, was this giant s response to deter the breach and its actions in restoring and improving the organization s IT structure. What would it be like if we didn t view the sunset with all the beautiful colors that are perceived in it? According to Brown, Lindsey, Mcsweeney, and Walters, (1994) without factoring in brightness, newborn infants cannot differentiate between colors. This was found by testing infants in forced choice preferential looking experiments or FPL experiments (Brown et al., 1994). Is it possible that the younger infants in the study by Teller and Palmer (1996) had not yet fully matured their s cone receptors? At what age does the color green develop in infants? Does the amount of s cones we have contribute and affect the order in which we develop color? According to a blog by Jones (2013), a retinal neuroscientist and photographer, tritanopia colorblind people have s (blue) cones absent and have issues deciphering between blue and green, infants might not be able to see blue yet (Robin, 2014), so as a replacement for blue, I am going to use gray as the comparing color. I predict that infants three weeks old will see the green and gray colors differently, and have an increase in gaze time on the color green while previously viewing gray or red. Hypothesis Infants that are three weeks old will be at the beginning stages of maturing s cones, which should enable them to begin viewing green and will in turn prefer the color green (longer gaze time) because it is new in their development of color. LITERATURE REVIEW Estimates reported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD,1997) suggest that several countries have experienced very rapid growth of the private sector during the transition period. A number of studies have suggested that investment and growth in developing economies is positively associated with indicators of openness and export promotion (Balasubramanyam et al., 1996). Such findings may suggest that investors prefer countries with relatively liberal trade regimes and few constraints on profit repatriation, possibly within regions with wider supra national free trade arrangements. De Mello (2000) analyzed the time series and panel data for 32 OECD and non OECD countries for the period 1970 90. He estimated the impact of FDI on capital accumulation and output growth in the recipient economy supporting the FDI led growth hypothesis. Similarly, Soto (2000); Alfaro, Chanda, Kalelmi Ozcan, Sayek (2004); Li and Liu (2005) found positive impact of FDI on GDP growth. They all used FDI measure as percentage of GDP. Liu et al. (206) Erich Remarque describes how war is an odd sort of happening through Albert Kropp, one of the most intelligent young men of Paul BГ¤umer s company. Remarque, himself a German World War 1 veteran, uses the characters of Paul s company to channel his frustrations from his experiences during the war. In both cases national cultural disparity between New Zealand and Gulf nations has significant ramifications on the selection procedure of Middle East operation structure is imperative for both of New Zealand business. It likewise demonstrates that a uniform procedure of entry ways to the foreign market, as recommended in the literatures reviewed on entry strategies, may not be suitable. The decision of way in to the foreign market must decide on a case by case basis and assess with cultural dissimilarity prior to any other decisive factor. Introduction The organizations operating abroad are common in our time and occurring in all parts of the world. Internationalization process of organizations is less demanding because of continues globalization process with lower transportation costs and quick exchange of information. • 43. Information Technology And Service Management What is ITIL? Information technology infrastructure library gives businesses a set of best practices and theories to adopt in order to sustain and develop a successful IT service management function. ITIL has been created by the UK government s central Computer Telecommunication agency, which is not only used by the UK but internationally by government bodies to commercial organizations (Wheatcroft, 2007). The framework covers best practices for 13 service level management processes, which are crucial for every day business functions, which include: Availability management Service level management Incident management Problem management Financial management Configuration management Capacity management Change management Continuity management Release management Knowledge management IT service continuity management Security Management As it would be inconvenient to have 13 publications, these processes have been merged together to create 5 publications that make up ITIL: Service strategy, focuses on creating a set of IT services for the customer based on their requirements (Knapp, 2014). Service design focuses on the development and maintenance of these services (Knapp, 2014). Service transition focuses on these new services and adjustment to the company, without causing disruption (Knapp, 2014). Service operation focuses on creating effective IT support for these IT services (Knapp, 2014). Continual service improvements focus on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Chemiluminescence Lab In this experiment, luminol, a compound that produces chemiluminescence when oxidized in the presence of a base by an oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide, was synthesized, and its presence was confirmed by observing chemiluminescence. Cheminluminescence is the process by which a photon is released when a reaction occurs, producing light. A similar process, bioluminescenceis observed in nature when fireflies and jellyfish produce light. Chemiluminescence is identical to bioluminescence, except for the fact that bioluminescence involves an enzyme, whereas chemiluminescence uses a chemical catalyst. Two types of light emission are fluorescence and phosphorescence. In its stable condition, an electron exists in a ground singlet state. During a reaction, it may absorb energy and become elevated to an excited state. In most situations, the electron returns to the ground singlet state by passing through a number of vibrational states and releasing energy, which is not perceived by the human eye. However, sometimes an electron may release energy all at once in one packet to go from its excited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nitro group was then reduced using sodium hydroulfite dihydrate, a reducing agent, to form an amino group. This reaction was easily reversible. The product formed was luminol, and in the presence of potassium ferrocyanide, an oxidizing agent, and hydroxide groups from KOH to deprotonate the product, its two amide groups formed two carboxylate groups, releasing NH2 in the process. The energy from this reaction also excited an electron in the HOMO (highest occupied molecular orbital) to the triplet state LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital). This electron then relaxed into a singlet excited state, before relaxing down to the ground state, releasing a photon in a fluorescence like chemiluminescence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Media Of The Oil Spill Of 2010 From China, The United... Modern culture thrives on news media as our primary source of information, but this creates an information overload from all of the various perspectives in coverage. Media coverage is essential is our development and understanding of international affairs. Therefore, the biases in coverage can have drastic effects in our interpretation of world s news. Countries tend to present their news in a way that favors them and their governmental responses, but coverage of other nations can be telling of their relations. The use of word choice, tone, and even selective use of quotes can have drastic effects on people s perceptions of the information from the media. This can be observed in the media analysis of the Xingang Port oil spill of 2010 through news sources from China, the United States, and Ireland. While some nuances of American news mediastill portray competition between the United States and China, the portrayal of the oil spill proves that both countries are working toward improving relations with each other. The relationship between China and United States previous to the spill was pretty stable in regards to oil and energy. But the United States was feeling increasingly frustrated with the Chinese trade policy as they refused to revalue the Yuan. In 2010, China was both the second largest consumer and the second largest importer of crude oil behind the United States (Hays). China had begun collecting oil for its national oil reserve in 2004 and most of this oil is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
