A. Let biasanya dimasukkan ke dalam daftar causative verb di dalam bukugrammar. Let berarti mengizinkan akan tetapi memiliki
perbedaan penggunaan delam grammar dengan kata allow atau permit. Perhatikan perbedaannya!
Struktur:
– let + complement + V1 . . .
– allow / permit + complement + to V1 . . .
Contoh:
– Adam let his younger brother play football with his friends yesterday.
(Adam mengizinkan adiknya untuk bermain bola bersama teman-temannya.)
– Adam allowed / permitted his younger brother to playfootball with his friends yesterday.
(Adam mengizinkan adiknya untuk bermain bola bersama teman-temannya.)
B. Help biasanya diikuti oleh V1, akan tetapi bisa juga diikuti oleh to V1. Help berarti membantu.
Struktur:
– help + complement + V1 / to V1 . . .
Contoh:
