Clydesdales are a breed of heavy draught horse that originated in Scotland in the 1800s. They can weigh over 1 ton and eat 11-25 kg of hay per day. While large and strong, Clydesdales are also gentle and intelligent. Historically, Clydesdales were used as work horses to pull carriages and wagons and in coal fields and farms.
