  • 41. “Employers sometimes ask 'what was your favourite part of Summer of Tech?', so make sure you pay attention and have an answer. There is a difference between 'attending' bootcamps in quotes, and Attending with a capital letter.”

  • 43. “Treat Summer of Tech like a course! The bootcamps are lectures and bootcamps extras are assignments. The Meet & Greet and interviews are like exams. You need to prepare for them!”

What you say about yourself and what you’re interested in etc etc. You have to sell yourself to people to get a job so start early and get good at it haha (this includes your about me in the SoT profile and your CV)”

  • 48. “Attend bootcamps and stay behind to talk to the speakers” “Attend every SoT event possible (especially the job interview related ones)” “Attend all the things you are interested in! Do worry if you don’t know anyone else there or if you don’t really know what its about, if it sounds cool to you make an effort to go :)”
  • 50. “Attend every Hackathon (SoT events & others; keep an eye out for GovHack, Health Hack, Hack Miramar, GameJams & Maker events)” “Register early for bootcamps to get in and prepare all the info required.”
