2. The photographers Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Brian Skerry bring their talents
together to explore the ocean’s mysteries. With 70 breath-taking photos
from the air and underwater, they portray the various relations that link
Man and Sea. The strength and the beauty of the images, associated with
texts from the GoodPlanet Foundation alert on the need to preserve the
world’s seas and oceans, incredible reserves of biodiversity, essential climate
generators, fabulous roadway corridors and vital food suppliers.
27. Leatherback sea turtles, such as this one from
Trinidad, face several ecological pressures caused
by human activity, including drowning in fishing
nets as bycatch, losing their offspring as a result
of overharvested eggs, and competing with
coastal development to access critical nesting
