This document provides an agenda and notes for a computer literacy class. It includes instructions on how to customize the ribbon in Word, tips for the week four homework assignments, and how to use text boxes. Students are reminded to turn in any late assignments and that the instructor will grade assignments on the weekends.
6. Mid Term
• If you have not taken the mid term, please
take it ASAP!
• Please e-mail me when you finish it so I can
grade it for you.
7. Week Four Homework Tips
• Okay to use other fonts than Harrington if you
do not have it.
• Follow the directions carefully.
• Don’t forget your headers and footers.
• For your part two project, be sure to use a text
box.
• If you do not have the textbox feature you can
use a table and bold and highlight the top of
it.
8. Changing Fonts
To change the font, go to
File, then Click on the font
and hit the upside down
triangle, this is called a
chevron button, then scroll
down the list. Fun!
9. How to Use Textboxes
• Go to Insert, then Textbox, then you can add a
simple textbox or a pre-formatted one. Click
with your mouse to change the shape.
• Go to Insert, then Shapes, this will open up a
drawing tools on your tool bar. There are
numerous options and shapes to work with.
10. Turn in all Late Assignments
• Please turn in all late assignments into the
proper dropbox for faster grading.
• E-mail me so that I know you turned it in.
• If it is not graded right away, please do not
worry. I grade assignments on the weekends.
