Medal: a Token of Success
Every person had his own special moments that he couldn’t ever forget until
his last breath. The same thing happened to my life.
The most memorable chapter of my life was when I became the first
valedictorian of our school. When I was still a child I never dreamt of anything
except of having a medal on my neck every end of the school year even just as
rank six. However, I never expected that I could reach more than that.
During the tabulation of our grades for ranking, I’m so grateful that I was
one of the top ten students. My heart was beating as fast as it could and my hands
were as cold as frozen ice when our teachers had finished calculating our grades
for honours. As she walked to the center to proclaim the first ever valedictorian of
Sta. Catalina Science High School, my legs shook and the beating of my heart
became faster. I held my breath when she opened the folder. I shouted as loud as I
could when she announced my name as the valedictorian. I could hardly breathe
because of too much joy I felt at that time. Tears even feel down on my cheeks as a
sign of happiness.
On the 30th day of March, 2012 I walked on the stage wearing a great smile
like a boxer who won the valuable belt or a scientist who successfully finished his
study. When I received my medal, I could still reminisce the sleepless nights doing
some stressful assignments and projects we had. I just smiled on the crowd
thinking of it.
Indeed, “Success comes to those who persevere’ because I knew I would
never receive such award without exerting some efforts to it.

The Crown
December 15, 2011 was the most memorable and unforgettable moment of
my life. Because of this, I have been blessed to wear the beautiful crown and carry
the title as Miss Don Emilio Macias Memorial National High School 2011.
I could still remember the overwhelming joy I felt during the crowning
moment. I could hardly breathe when I held the bouquet and trophy in my hands
and felt the crown in my head. But before I felt the triumph I took several struggles
on my way to be crowned as Miss DEMMNHS 2011. I felt the distrust
of some people and heard negative feedbacks because for them I’m not worth it to
be one of the gorgeous contestants. Upon hearing those judgmental words, I felt
the disappointments and I lost hope. I liked to quit but I can’t because I still had to
prove to them that I’m worthy to be a queen. With the help of my ever supported
parents and my strict trainer yet the best one, Mr. Nicolas Macahilos, I passed it all
and won the title.
I was so happy that despite of all consequences that I encounter, I still have
the guts to face it. And after achieving the title as Miss DEMMNHS 2011, I’ve
learned that it is not all about popularity or for some ego/pride but it is a title to be
treasured. I’ve tried my best to be a good role model to each student of my Alma
matter for her improvement.
