The Marketing Of Buzz Marketing
The traditional methods to marketing a product has been wearing off for quite some time, and
marketers are seeking for new ways to create awareness of new products. The era of technology has
taken over and for that reason the traditional methods are failing in generating new revenue.
Marketers have been investing a great deal of time in more nontraditional marketing techniques, like
buzz marketing. Buzz marketing has been increasing faster than any other area of alternative
marketing. The power of buzz marketing is far more effective than any traditional marketing
methods. However, to create a buzz about a product, marketers must first be successful in bringing
forth the product to its consumers. It is very crucial that professionals are ... Show more content on

Buzz marketing is a great method in gaining customer 's attraction. It is a much more effective
technique because of the sources, which are the customers themselves who are very reliable. The
recommendation by relatives, friends, etc. is more credible than a commercial. Another reason for its
effectiveness is that consumers like the power of reviewing products and being able to share with
other buyers. "Many exhibit an innate desire for social interaction and are concerned about the
welfare of others" (Clow & Baack, 2014, p.281). The purchasers likes being involved with the
product and having their opinions value.
Buzz marketing even with the abundance of benefits is not effective, if the product is not worth the
buzz. One of the most useful piece of advice came from a man named Mark Hughes, the founder of
Herbalife. According to Mark Hughes, the six buttons that start a conversation are the taboo, the
unusual, the outrageous, the hilarious, the remarkable, and secrets. These are used as a conversation
starter because it drives people to be vocal about their opinions.
The first button that we will be focusing on is the taboo. Taboo can mean anything from

If you're looking for a low maintenance, short hairstyle, consider a military style buzz cut. While
this is associated with the military, many men in all walks of life are choosing this look. This is a
simple style to create and maintain. You don't have to go to a fancy or expensive hair stylist for a
crew cut. You can go to any old fashioned barber to get this hairstyle for a reasonable price. And
because there's not much hair to style, you won't need to think about styling it. Of course, some men

Radical hairstyles, like a Mohawk, are not a good idea if you work in a bank or for an insurance
company, for example, even if you fantasize about being a rock star. If there's no reason you need a
conservative look, though, feel free to try something a little more daring. You can look at pictures of
different hairstyles and try to imagine how they'd look on you. Make sure the style you choose is
one you'll be comfortable with and that fits with your lifestyle. The Caesar cut is also a popular short
style among men. While not every man with this cut refers to it by that name, this is a short style
that is similar to how Julius Caesar is depicted in statues. If you want to know what this looks like,
look at pictures or movies of George Clooney in the 1990s, as this is the style he favored back then.
The Caesar cut is a simple style because the hair is short and even all over the head. This style may
be very complimentary for your face

I Heard A Fly Buzz-When I Died By Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson's carefully thought out poem, "I heard a Fly buzz–when I died," discusses how
death is an inevitable experience that everyone faces. Dickinson is a well–known poet for writing
about death and topics relating to death. The set up of the poem conveys an atmosphere in which
someone dies. A simple fly's buzz disrupts this quiet and heavy atmosphere surrounding the person's
deathbed which causes the reader to focus more on the buzz of the fly than the person who is dying.
The speaker is coming to terms with the fact that she is dying and tells of how she is giving away
her "keepsakes" and belongings. Her giving away her belongings conveys that she is ready to die,
however, just as she is about to pass, the fly interrupts again. The fly is a seemingly small, irrelevant
bug, but in this poem, it becomes the focal point to show that death can be inconsequential. The
speaker of this poem recounts her last moments before death experiencing many emotions such as
loneliness, calmness, and stress. These emotions make the speaker notice the insignificant aspects
surrounding her in the room causing her to realize that death is not an extraordinary experience.
Dickinson's effective use of symbolism helps create an atmosphere in which the speaker is able to
perceive her death in different ways. "The Stillness in the Room was like the Stillness in the Air
between the Heaves of Storm," is symbolism for how the atmosphere in the room was so still when
the speaker died (2–4). The moments before death are like the calm between a storm, and even
though there is no rain in between a storm, the atmosphere is still heavy just as how the room is
when the speaker died. Once the speaker died, she was able to notice how quiet the room was, and
she perceived how different the atmosphere was from before she died too after her death. As the
poem starts to build up, Dickinson mentions that a "King" is coming to the speaker's death, which is
either death itself or in reference to a religious figure. In line seven, "For that last Onset – when the
King– Be witnessed – in the Room," the King seems to be approaching her as she dies, and if the
"King" is God, then God could be coming to take the speaker into the afterlife(7–8).

Buzz Monologue
BUZZ She noticed that whenever she was focused intently on a task, the Gnat appeared. It was
small, black, and dreadfully annoyingly. It never did anything, just buzzed around her face. She'd
swat it away, but seconds later she'd hear it next to her ear again. She never paid much attention to
the phenomenon, just brushing it off as a coincidence. One day, as she worked on a school project
the Gnat wouldn't leave her alone. It buzzed in front of her computer screen and around her face
until she could stand it no longer. Slowly, she stood up. She grabbed a magazine and rolled it up into
a tight cylinder. She sat back down and waited patiently for the Gnat. Moments later she heard the
buzzing near her hand. Trying not to draw too much attention ... Show more content on

There was a teenage boy there, and something told her she had to warn him. Somewhere in the back
of her mind, she wondered what she was protecting him from. She'd buzz near his ear & he'd swat
her away. She continued to try and warn him of some unknown danger, but to no avail. The boy
would look up at her eventually, they'd make eye contact, and she'd wake up. Things like this had
happened to her before. When she was younger she'd always be the one to hear voices, or to see
things others didn't. Early in life she'd learned that talking about what she saw or heard got her
labeled "Freak", so she always kept to herself. This lesson would be her downfall. She had this
dream for weeks, each night a little different. Sometimes they'd be in a different location or the boy
would be involved in a different task. She began receding into herself, not doing the things she used
to enjoy. She had this dream for weeks, and slowly it became harder to wake up from. One day she
didn't. She was at the part of her dream where she'd always jerk awake, but it didn't happen now.

Scornful Comedy In Toy Story
Theme and Scornful Comedy within Toy Story From using aspects of scornful comedy, the film Toy
Story's theme is more easily identified. Elements of scornful comedy help to reveal the theme within
Toy Story. A possible primary subject matter in the film is that everyone has the capacity of good
and evil. This theme is shown throughout the character Woody, for in the beginning of the movie he
makes an irrational decision, but eventually learns of why his action was in the wrong. Due to the
loss of his position as Andy's favorite toy, Woody is overcome with jealousy and pushes his
challenger, Buzz, out the window. Because of this, the toys that once looked up to Woody turn
against him and begin to look at Buzz as their leader. After this,

The Run By Wanda Coleman Analysis
To begin, Wanda Coleman shows us when a young boy's mom calls him hard to look at. We hear
this through dialogue between his mother and aunt. While the main character, Buzz, and his cousin
were in California, they were playing a game and overheard some disturbing words by Buzz's
mother. Buzz previously had great respect for his mother and was a happy, fun kid. A turn of events
changed his point of view and made him see his mother in a mean, cold view. We start to see some
prejudice when Buzz's mom said "He's my favorite of the boys. He's so light skinned and look at
that good straight hair." But as the conversation is progressing, so is the hurtfulness of his mother's
words. The final breaking point for Buzz is when his mom says "'I'm so glad this baby didn't turn
out black and ugly like Buzz'" As we could see through the dialogue, Buzz faced prejudice from no
one but his own mother. We can infer from BUzz's later actions of personality change and crying in
the bathroom. We can see how close prejudice can hit home, and even be at home. ... Show more

CASE STUDY – UNDERSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN RETAILING: The case of Omega
Supermarkets
Background
Omega is a successful company and one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, employing a
large number of staff in stores across the country. Although the industry has seen very little growth
in recent years, Omega has successfully increased its market share through a policy of lowering
prices (the company claims to have reduced prices by 7.5 per cent between 2004–2009) and
improving customer service. It currently holds a dominant share of the UK market in its core
business and is growing rapidly in related areas. The company plans to continue expanding in the
UK, opening up new stores on brownfield sites in regeneration areas.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A more recent change within Omega has been the drive for consistency across stores, and all
policies, procedures and processes are centrally determined and their implementation closely
monitored. Each store is governed by the company routines handbook which provides detailed
information on how every task is to be performed– this is down to the minutest detail even including
details on office layout, such as where pictures should go on the wall. On the HR side all policies
and procedures are highly centralised and controlled – the wage budget for example is fixed for each
store and there is no local flexibility on pay – something which was obviously a cause for great
frustration in some of the stores where recruitment, retention and staff quality are on–going major
problems. Although the stores cannot function without these routines it is the way in which the rules
and routines are implemented that is considered a key ingredient for success. It is management, in
particular, store managers, who are responsible for how policies are implemented and their
behaviour is therefore critical to a store's performance.
Section managers occupy first line manager position within the store. Spans of control (The number
of subordinates who report directly to a given manager or superior), are normally 12 general
assistants to each section manager and in a large store there may be about 20 section

Buzz Instructions Essay
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to determine whether or not The Buzz instructions are practical for
college students wishing to relax from their studies.
Problem
Most college students encounter a stressful period in their college career. There are many factors
that causes pressure, but one thing is true – students tend to want to escape from their stress. Rather
than resorting to alcohol, drugs, or simply avoiding the problem, students can turn to something else
that should not only reduce stress, but also still uses their brain without overstimulating it. The
answer is paper airplanes. According to the University of Guelph (n.d.), breaks "help reduce stress,
sustain motivation and increase productivity". Additionally, they believe for about every hour
worked, a 10–minute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The participants are students at Iowa State University. The three criteria include: distance, time aloft,
and clarity of instructions.
DISCUSSION Distance
Explanation
Distance is how far the plane traveled to. The distance recorded begins from where the participant
stood to where the airplane landed. One of the two categories The Buzz is known for, is its distance
according to Fold'N Fly (n.d.). The site describes it to "resemble a fly and fly well". Since distance
is part of The Buzz's character, it is suitable to test how well it can fly. To many students, any
airplane that travels a few feet would be considered a fair distance. It was determined before the
tests that over 5 feet (60 inches) would be deemed as a successful distance.
Data
Each student had two attempts to get a full picture of the airplane's capabilities. Figure 1 represents
a comparative visual of the differing flight distances between participants and their two tests. The
tests were done in a participant's living room.

Essay on A Comparison of Beauty and the Beast with Toy Story
A Comparison of Beauty and the Beast with Toy Story
INTRODUCTION
Disney is an excellent example of a Media corporation as it is known worldwide, go any where in
the world and ask someone about Mickey Mouse or Daffy Duck and they will know that you are
talking about Disney. They have a huge range of advertising and merchandise ranging from
children's books and films to holiday resorts and theme parks. The Disney brand appeals to all,
children and adults alike.
Beauty and the Beast is a classic film using old style animation techniques. It has been recently

It is also because Buzz is so cool; he is brand new and shiny with lots of cool gadgets. As the story
moves on Woody begins to change and realize that Buzz is not such a threat as he first assumed. He
begins to change to what he was before, leading the way and setting a good example. He helps them
get to Pizza Planet and saves Buzz from being blown up by a firework by their evil next door
neighbour, Sid.
Sid is a villainous character; he destroys toys for fun and is feared by all of the toys. Woody shows
his great leadership again when he organizes the toys in a revolt against Sid, leaving him shaken and
very scared. He is a very dark character and this is shown by his image, a black t–shirt with a skull
on, scruffy hair and chipped, black teeth. His dog Scud is like a sidekick sharing Sid's hate for toys,
regularly chewing them to pieces.
The way in which the toys are represented is important as well, when there is humans around the
toys are looked down on from a higher perspective. The toys were first seen as inanimate objects,
Andy's playthings. This changes when the toys are 'alive', they are looked at from their perspective
or from what they are seeing. When Buzz is first seen in the bedroom the camera angle changes to
give him a look of superiority and power, the camera looks at him from a very low view and then
slowly reveals the rest of his

You Aren T The Real Buzz Lightyear Analysis
Imagine being on a road with no outlets. Changing lanes is possible, but there is no moving off your
set course. This represents man's life in that they are predestined for something which is not
malleable.
"You are a toy. You aren't the real Buzz Lightyear. Awh you're an action figure. You are a child's
play thing" explains Woody to Buzz as they dispute over Buzz's dreams; consequently, we see Buzz
try to fulfill his aspirations of becoming the real Buzz Lightyear. Buzz uses all of his willpower to
try and become real. He even goes as far as to throw himself off of a stair railing when he tries and
fails to fly. Just as Buzz isn't able to become a super hero, man isn't able to achieve anything other
than what is foreordained.

Before the merging, Disney had a leader that was ineffective and it showed in the work they
produced. I believe Catmull and Lasseter follow the House's Path–Goal theory of leadership. The
basis of path–goal is that effective leaders motivate subordinates to achieve goals by 1: Clearly
identifying the outcomes that subordinates are trying to obtain from the workplace. In the Disney–
Pixar aspect, the main goal of everyone is to come up with new innovated film ideas that have never
been done before. Always trying to push the envelope. This in an interesting job assignment, very
challenging this day and age because everything is just getting bigger and bigger. 2: Rewarding
subordinates with these outcomes for high performance and the attainment of work goals. I would
think there would be compensation for producing a box office hit. There is a shared interest in
everyone's success. They really are a team, the success of a movie counts on each and every person
involved. And 3: Clarifying for subordinates the paths leading to the attainment of work goals. To
remove any obstacles, the company created an environment where they remove the power structure.
"Everyone's notes are equal." Everyone is encouraged to share ideas freely and honest feedback is
given. This allows employees to

An Analysis of Toy Story Essay
Toy Story Analysis
Toy Story is the groundbreaking 1995 motion picture developed by Disney and Pixar and directed
by John Lasseter. The film was so revolutionary not only because it was the first feature length
animation to be created completely by CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) but also, also the film
was more rounded in all respects. The characters not only looked more sophisticated and three–
dimensional but their personalities were also more human and fewer cartoons like. The film uses a
constructed text in order to put across a theme of two very different characters learning to work
together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal.

Woody quickly becomes jealous and insecure with the arrival of Buzz and this turns him into a
bully. Not the characteristics expected of a Disney hero. This is shown in the way Woody constantly
ridicules Buzz making fun of his name and teases him maliciously about the fact he thinks he
actually is a space ranger. This brings us on to Buzz. He is super confidant and suffers from
delusions of grandeur. However although he may be a little irritating he is still likeable, cheerful and
helpful. He has too much confidence in own abilities. This is why when he sees the advertisement
for Buzz Lightyear Action figures he completely loses his will to live and is unable to do anything.
This is another theme that self belief has a reflection in what you are able to do as they both find out
at the end in that when they have confidence in themselves they are able to rise above seemingly
insurmountable obstacles in rescuing Buzz and getting back to Andy. Another theme is that of
appearances being deceptive. Woody and Buzz immediately consider the toys in Sid's room as evil.
The audience also get this feeling. Not only do they look disturbing but also they are also associated
with Sid who is the main evil character. Despite their initial fears, Woody and Buzz are soon
convinced that Sid's warped creations are also prisoners and are in fact friends. It turns out that
without the intervention of Sid's toys Sid would

Manifest And Latent Content In The Toy Story Movies
The Toy Story movies by Pixar Animation Studios are three movies that hold many messages for the
people that choose to view the films. There are two types of content that are present in movies and
books, but the content is much more important in children's movies because the media can teach the
children how to interact socially when they are older. The content of media can be broken down into
two different categories that are called manifest and latent content. Manifest content is the intended
message of the media, which is what the media is trying to promote for the young viewers and
readers of children's books and movies (Structural Functionalism, 2017). There are more many
different examples of manifest content throughout the three Toy Story movies, but some stand out
more than others. One of the main messages of Toy Story is that teamwork is key, and it is important
to work together in order to achieve success (Disney, 2016). The latent content of media are the
messages that are unintended and may have a negative impact on the young consumers of content
(Structural Functionalism, 2017). An example of latent content from Toy Story 3 is that once
someone is of no use, their lives should end (Cubria, 2014). The manifest and latent content of the
Toy Story movies are very important for the social upbringings of the young viewers of the Pixar
franchise. There are many instances in the Toy Story movies that send intended messages to the
young viewers. These manifest messages

The Toy Story Films From Pixar
The Toy Story films from Pixar are remembered fondly for their clever settings, good drama, and
memorable characters. These films pretty much have what every good movie can be expected to
have. One of the most fondly remembered characters of this film trilogy is the lead protagonist,
Sheriff Woody. In Toy Story, a film where children's toys secretly come to life when no human is
around to witness them, Woody is the favorite toy of his own kid, Andy, who spends most of his
spare time playing with him in particular, taking him throughout his home and treating the toy like a
close friend, the same way a lot of kids tend to get attached to their own playthings. Because of the

works, but the toys from Andy's room mistake Buzz's now broken arm as evidence that Woody
killed off Buzz out of jealousy, and refuse to help him get back. Woody, feeling guilty and
remorseful, realizes Buzz's sudden state of depression, and how he learned from a TV commercial
that he really is a toy. By this point, Woody feels responsible for getting both himself and Buzz into

Neil Armstrong As A Hero
"This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." (Neil Armstrong). In the 1960s, the
race began between America and the Soviet Union to see who could be the first to launch humans to
the moon. Several years later, America achieved a goal that was believed unlikely and almost
impossible a few years earlier. During the 1960's Neil Armstrong changed the world and became an
American hero.
Neil Armstrong had a long journey before he got to take those first steps on the moon. As a child,
"he moved with his family to several Ohio communities before they settled in Wapakoneta when
Neil was 13 years old" ("Armstrong, Neil Alden"). Neil Armstrong's family moved a lot around
Ohio until they finally found a place to settle. Neil was only 13 years old. Moving could have made
it hard for Armstrong to make friends and he could have had a hard time dealing with school. Also,
according to www.notablebiographies.com, Neil Armstrong was the oldest of three children. He had
a sister named June and a brother named Dean. His parent's names were Stephen and Viola
Armstrong. His sister June, was four years younger than him. Later on, "In 1947, Armstrong entered
Purdue University. He began studies in aeronautical engineering. But in 1949, the United States
Navy called him to active duty. Armstrong became a Navy pilot and was sent to Korea in 1950, near
the start of the Korean War.In 1952, Armstrong returned to Purdue. He earned a bachelor's degree in
aeronautical engineering there in 1955. Also in 1970, he earned a master's degree in aerospace
engineering at the University of Southern California"("Armstrong, Neil Alden"). Before Neil
Armstrong finished school, he was in the Navy, but cared enough about his education to continue it
2 years later. He even returned to school 15 years later. This lead to him getting a master's degree
and a bachelor's degree. The beginning of Armstrong's life led to many different accomplishments
for his time. Neil Armstrong had many life accomplishments other than walking on the moon.To

Theme Of The Movie Toy Story
An overall theme of the Disney–Pixar movie, Toy Story, is that when a person struggles with envy,
they will consequently find themselves in difficult situations and as a result, will gain the
opportunity to recognize their fault. This theme is revealed through various plot elements such as
conflict, and plot chronology. Through the observation of conflict, one recognizes how Buzz and
Woody's relationship changes as Woody's envy dies. In the initial stage of their relationship, conflict
can be easily detected by the audience. This is found when Woody says to Buzz, "Listen, Light–
Snack, you stay away from Andy. He's mine, and no one is taking him away from me"(Lasseter).
When the audience witnesses this, they instantly recognize Woody's envy of Buzz because Buzz is
becoming Andy's favorite and Woody feels like he is being forgot about. Woody's envy drives him to
not only speak aggressively to him, but also encourages him to attack Buzz physically when he later
pushes him out of a window. When the audience notices this aggression, they witness a person vs.
person conflict between the two. This all occurs at the beginning of the film, before the "difficult
scenario" is put upon the protagonist, Woody. In this movie, the difficult scenario is caused by
Woody's jealousy. Specifically, when he attempts to knock Buzz down a crack in order to hide him
from Andy, but instead he accidentally manages to knock him out the window. As a result, Andy
takes Woody because Buzz was nowhere

Toy Story 3: Intra-Group Conflict
Toy Story 3
In the 3rd iteration of the Toy Story series, Andy is about to leave home for college. His toys have
been abandoned for years. Nearing his departure, he has to make a decision – to stash his toys away
in the attic, or to donate them to Sunnyside Daycare. He decides to put all his toys in a trash bag for
the attic, except for Woody, who he wants to take with him to college. His mother accidentally takes
the toys to the trash. The toys, believing that Andy wanted to throw them away, narrowly escape

Group conflicts often occur within small groups. There are two types of group conflict: inter–group
conflict and intra–group conflict. Inter–group conflict is when members from two different groups
disagree on something. Intra–group conflict involves conflict between two or more individuals
within the same group. According to Victor Wooddell, "Most of the work Levine and Moreland
review can best be termed as "interpersonal" in nature, that is, small groups are not actually used in
the research paradigm, instead individuals (usually two) are used and the results are extrapolated to
the group level" (Wooddell 1). Here, Victor Wooddell is describing Levine and Moreland's take on
small group conflicts. Wooddell is saying that small group conflicts are essentially based off of two
individuals and their conflicts are related back to how the small group functions as a whole. Toy
Story 3 does a great job of relating group members conflicts between each other back to the whole
group itself. Here in the article "Engaging in Conflict Small Groups", written by Mark Bonham, he
says that "conflict should not be viewed as a problem that threatens to destroy your group, but as an
opportunity to grow the group" (Bonham 1). Bonham explains that having an unaddressed conflict
can become a big problem. The conflict in the movie was to escape the daycare so that caused a

An Everlasting Friendship: Analysis of the Film Toy Story...
An Everlasting Friendship This Toy Story 3 film starts off with Andy getting ready to go off to
college. He is now seventeen years old. It is now time for Andy to make a decision on what he is
going to do with the toys. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe head and Jessie are all part
of the toy collection that Andy needs to make a decision about. The toys hear Andy's mom telling
him that he needs to make a decision about what he is going to do with the toys. Will Andy give the
toys away to the Sunnyside Daycare Center or will he store them in the attic? This question leaves
the toys questioning their future. Andy decides to have the toys, except for Woody, put in the attic.
Andy will take Woody with which leaves the rest of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also brings to life how important friendship is. From a psychological stand friendship is an
important part of our lives. Sociologically we need close friends to make it through the toughest of
times. Just like in the previous versions of the Toy Story movies Andy really loves and cherishes his
toys, he really considers them friends. Woody and Buzz Lightyear are Andy's favorite two. Andy has
to choose what he wants to do with the old toys. As one knows it is sociably unacceptably for a
seventeen year old boy to take the toys that his cherished as a young boy off to college. In society
we have to learn to deal with change. We have to learn to adapt sociably to our surroundings. Even
though these are toys, they show how being together for such a long time you build up a supportive
and committed friendship.
It is very clear how Marxism plays a strong part in this film. Lotso is on the oldest toys there. He is
one of the oldest and biggest toys there so he runs everything. He puts the viewer in mind of
someone that's old and in control. He made it to the daycare because he was lost by his previous
owner and then replaced; so he is very bitter. Lotso seems to be the dictator of the entire daycare
center. Big Baby is one of the Lotso's main accomplices. The new toys are tricked into believing that
the Sunnyside Daycare Center would be some sort of paradise. They are tricked by the old toy called
Lotso.

Essay Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Analysis of Pinocchio and Toy Story
Recently I have been watching two Disney films on completely different sides of the Disney
timeline. "Pinocchio" was made in 1940 using cell animation with the story taken from an existing
folk tale. "Toy Story" was made in 1995 and it was the first computer generated feature film. This
created a whole new genre of computer–animated films such as "Finding Nemo" and the recent
"Incredibles". Both of these films use a toy as the main character and as always they both fit into the
conventions of any Disney film.
The narrative structure of both films is in some way similar as both of the main characters are
separated from home and the films involve them trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The good characters in "Pinocchio" are very stereotypical such as Gepetto. He is a typical homely
grandfather figure. Jiminy Cricket adds guidance and humour to the film and finally the Blue Fairy
is added for beauty with bright ora. On the other hand Sid's toys in "Toy Story" are very
unattractive, and at first we are led to believe they are evil, but in fact they save Woody and Buzz.
This shows that you should never judge on appearance. As we have good characters there are also
evil characters. They are usually portrayed in very stereotypical ways such as an evil laugh or an
ugly exterior. Some examples of this is Stromboli the circus owner in "Pinocchio" who is large and
intimidating. His eyes are frightening and he is most definitely greedy. Honest John is also evil; he
is a sly and cunning fox with a pun on his name. In "Toy Story" the only bad character is Sid. He is
horrible, ugly (a brace and an evil laugh) and even he destroys toys. But as in every Disney film the
good will eventually overcome the evil.
Another Disney convention is that there are always some "Disney Values" in each picture. In
"Pinocchio", "Toy Story" and even "Finding Nemo" one of the morals is that there is no place like
home. The "Toy Story" morals are "Not to be jealous" and "Be happy with what

Priscilla Council Biology 1110 February 23, 2010 Research Assignment Where Have All the Bees
Gone? Morgan E. Peck Discover Magazine 2009 Summary Each year since 2006, bees have
gradually been disappearing from their hives or dying off. Bees have died off before in the past. This
is called colony collapse disorder or CCD. In the past CCD was cause by mites or infections, but
now this is caused because of the commercial agricultural farmers. Bees play a key part in
pollination. When the crops are pollinated by the bees, they are capable of producing the fruits or
vegetables the human population eats. Farmers primarily depend upon the bees to pollinate their
crops. The honeybees were the most adaptable bees out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the proximate cause, it increasingly appears that the bees are succumbing to a long–
ignored underlying condition – inbreeding. Decades of agricultural and breeding practices meant to
maximize pollinating efficiency have limited honeybees' genetic diversity at a time when they need
it the most. Addressing CCD may therefore require more than a simple fix. "We need to have a
diverse set of genetic raw material so we can find bees resistant to disease," says Steve Sheppard, an
entomologist at Washington State University. "Genetic diversity is an important part of the
solution."The problem is hardly trivial. A third of the total human diet depends on plants pollinated
by insects, predominantly honeybees. In North America honeybees pollinate more than 90 crops
with an annual value totaling almost $15 billion. Indeed, that importance lies at the root of what
went wrong. In trying to make bees more productive, apiarists have torn the insects from their
natural habitats and the routines they mastered over millions of years. As a result, today's honeybees
are sickly, enslaved, and mechanized. "We've looked at bees as robots that would keep on trucking
no matter what," says Heather Mattila of Wellesley College, who studies honeybee behavior and
genetics. "They can't be pushed and pushed."In the beginning, honeybees and their partners, the
flowers, drove an

Cultural Values And Behavior In Toy Story 1: Toy Story 1
1. Description of Toy Story 1
'Toy Story 1' is a story about a boy named Andy and his toys. Woody, a cowboy toy, was the leader
of a group of toys and also Andy's favorite. One day, Andy received a space ranger Buzz Lightyear
action figure as his birthday present. However, Woody became resentful about that since Buzz
replaced him as Andy's favorite toy and got attention from other toys. Buzz did not care about the
reaction of the toys as he regarded himself as a real space ranger on a mission to return to his home
planet. Few days later, Woody accidentally knocked Buzz out of the window and resulting in the
other toys rebelling against him. To regain the trust of the toys, Woody left the house to find Buzz.

Woody's action increases the self–efficacy of Buzz in addition to his cohesiveness and performance
norm. With high cohesiveness and performance norm, high group productivity of toys would be

When Woody guided the toys to either searching for the presents of Andy or rescuing Buzz, he
would decentralize the responsibilities to every followers. For instance, some of the toys go
downstairs to observe the action of Andy while some of those stay in Andy's room. Division of labor
by Woody can increase the productivity of toy's group.
Moreover, Woody have propensity to take risks. When he was leading Buzz to go to Andy's car, he
used the rocket to increase their speed even he have to take the risk of being exploded. Luckily, they
successfully went back to Andy's car. Woody's propensity to take risks can help the group to explore

In the article "The Imperative to explore" Buzz Aldrin talks about how when he took his step on the
moon, he realized what a beautiful place was and that it was our home. Buzz Aldrin described it as a
green, blue, and white globe surrounded by a void of blackness. And that green, blue, and white
sphere is our home that we have to protect. This sight made him realize that our home is precious,
and that it help all of our achievements, all of our knowledge, and everyone that we have ever loved.
He said we explore because it touches on our economic strength, our health and well–being, and the
ability of our planet, with its finite and limited resources, to sustain us. Buzz Aldrin then starts
talking about sustainability. He says we live on a small world with a population of seven billion, and
that that number is rapidly increasing. And that all these people are going to use up all of our natural
resources, pollute, and run out of room. And that leaves us with only one clear choice; we have to
explore space. He says that there may be problems that we can not stop, or problems that will be
race threatening, and that we need to have an alternate "home" that we will be able to travel to. We
need to guarantee the survival of our race by settling on new worlds.

My Love In My Life
Dear family, mother, father, dearest grandmother, and beloved cousins, if my misfortune is your
happiness, then I'll gladly suffer. If my wails at night are music to your ears, then I'll write you a
symphony. If my blood, sweat, and tears keep you shining, then I'll bleed you an ocean. To my
family of whom I would do anything for, if the Hannah Pham in front of you doesn't meet your

Almost every Asian child is taught the most fundamental principle of our culture, to keep your
family as your number one priority. I am no exception, I was taught to keep family in mind when
making actions or making decisions. My life choices would have to either benefit my family, or they
would be predetermined by my family themselves. I learned to prioritize my love for my family
more than anything else, and I refused to make room in my heart for anyone else. At the age of 8,
most kids are getting tucked in by their mommies and daddies, getting goodnight kisses, listening to
bedtime stories, and concluding their blissful nights with heartfelt exchanges of "I love you"s.
Meanwhile, I lied in bed with my family telling me what I'm going to do with my life; I will give
them a place to stay, I will give most of my money to them, I will marry someone rich, I will
become a doctor, I will be pretty and feminine, and I will dedicate my life to helping them.

revolution, capitalism, and transformation. CGI films as explained by Halberstam are movies

being queer, different or odd, to Halberstam. Movies that include animating revolt usually
incorporate human and non–human struggles in which two groups are then pit against each other to

Woody goes through many milestones in which he shows that being a failure is not such a bad thing
after all. Collectivity is shown in the move when Buzz and Woody, the replaced toy, accidentally set
off on an adventure and are forced to work together to overcome many obstacles. At one point in the
movie, they are trapped in a claw machine and have to find a way out. Although their plan to escape
the claw machine goes very south, Woody still tries to help out Buzz. Halberstam would focus on
the scene when Buzz and Woody are "won" by Sid the Bully, one of the antagonists in the movie,

Literary Analysis Of Out-Out, By Robert Frost
The poem, "Out–Out––", by Robert Frost, is a rather peculiar poem that primarily may be tricky to
understand. Nonetheless, it is intriguing and full of key examples of complex poetic terms,
vocabulary, and structure. A key part of any literary work, the purpose, can be drawn from Out–
Out––, that being to show that death calls to many people at any given time, and that no one dwells
on the death of people or cares about others at all, and should. The first part of the purpose of the
poem Out–Out–– is to show that death calls to many people at any time. Evidence for this can be
easily located on lines 1, 7, and 8 of the poem, where it says, " The buzz saw snarled and rattled in
the yard... the saw snarled and rattled snarled and rattled As it ran light, or had to bear a load." (Frost
1, 7, and 8). This bit from the poem shows a repetition pattern that the buzz saw is being worked
hard and is under stress, and rattling is a sign that something isn't working right in any tool. This
could allude or lead up to a deadly accident, key word being dead(death), showing that the saw
could be an allusion to a death, or the calling of death. More evidence can be seen on lines 15–20,
and 31–32 where it says, "... To tell them "Supper." At the word, the saw As if it meant to prove
saws knew what supper meant, Leaped out at the boy's hand, or seemed to leap – He must have
given the hand... Neither refused the meeting... Half in appeal, But half as if to keep the life from
spilling... since they

According to Gnoffo (2005), by the end of 2004, Forrester Research estimated there were TiVos and
other DVRs in 6.5 million US households, up from 1.9 million in 2002. That number, the firm
claims, will climb to almost 50 million by 2009, representing 41% of all US households. On another
front, the popularity of Netflix, an online subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted
both Blockbuster and Wal–Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an
unlimited time for a monthly fee. While it 's true that DVDs may be a cash cow for studios, theaters
suffer when patrons skip the cinema experience and wait for those releases at home. Needless to say,
given the increase in entertainment options, the movie–going experience needs to be far more
compelling to draw in audience members. Moreover, this challenge is not likely to subside, but
rather grow more compelling: as discussed by Charny (2005), a recent study by Informa Research
Services indicates that 125 million people – about 5% of all cell phone owners – will be watching
television on their handsets by 2010. In addition, the Digital Lifestyles 2006 Outlook from Parks

The Buzz Saw Poem Analysis
A young fellow is cutting kindling with a buzz saw in New England. Close to the end of the day, the
kid's sister reports that it is time for supper and, out of exhilaration, the kid unintentionally cuts his
hand with the saw. He asks his sister not to enable the specialist to cut away the hand yet deep down
understands that he has effectively lost a great deal of blood to survive. The boy passes away while
under anesthesia, and everybody backpedals to work. Around 1916 World War I was in progress and
a lot of unprepared children had to take the duties of the adults to help out with the households.
Frost utilizes the strategy of personification to significantly impact in this poem. The buzz saw,
however; a lifeless question is depicted as a discerning being, forcefully growling and rattling as it
does its work. At the point when the sister makes the supper declaration, the saw indicates that it has
its very own psyche by "jumping" out of the boy's hand in exhilaration. Frost declines to lay fault
for the damage on the boy, who is a "young child on the most fundamental level." In spite of faulting
the saw, Frost accuses the grown–ups at the scene for not interceding and advising the kid to "throw
in the towel" before the mischance happened. Had the kid got an early reason from the workday, he
would have refrained from removing his hand and would have been spared from death. Besides, an
insignificant half–hour break from his employment would have enabled the kid to recapture some
portion of his adolescence, if just for a minute. Frost's accentuation on the boy's lack of involvement
and blamelessness in this circumstance is especially noteworthy with regards to the day and age.
Subsequent to moving to England with his family, Frost was compelled to come back to America as
a result of the onset of World War I in 1915, an occasion that would devastate the lives of numerous
pure young men. In view of that, this poem can be perused as an investigation of the world
occasions that constrained young men to abandon their childhoods and at last be decimated by
conditions outside their ability to control. Most adolescents and young people, both young men and
young ladies, left primary schools where they got the

Characteristics such as these mentioned can be seen in toys determining so much about a toys
identity and what they represent. Studies have shown that these qualities also have an immense
effect on what audience or gender group interacts with the toys along with the overall marketing of
toys. A partnered experiment run by the departments of psychology at The University of Cambridge
and The University of Hong Kong observed toddlers playing with two gender–typical toys, once in
gender–typical colors and once in gender typical colors (Wong and Hines). These assessments
occurred twice, for four minute periods, at two different age groups that included twenty to forty
months of age and twenty–six to forty–seven months of age (Wong and Hines). After, results
between sex and toy choice along with sex and color were collected. It was found that "Boys played
more with the train than girls did and girls played more with the doll and with pink toys than boys
did" (Wong and Hines). At both time collections, boys and girls combined played more with the
gender–atypical toy when its color was typical for their sex than when it was not (Wong and Hines).
After reviewing the results, it is suggested that once children develop gender–typical color
preferences, they begin to influence their toy preferences, especially those for gender–atypical toys

The Film : A New Age Dawn
Toy Story was released in 1995, the animation saw a new age dawn. Not only did it introduce CGI
(Computer Generated Imagery); but also, showed the capacity from humanity and emotion that
director John Lasseter and the rest of the team brought to the animated film. The film uses a
constructed text to put across a theme of two complete different characters learning how to work
together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal.
The Film uses characters and imagery to portray this theme. The music in the film is also different to
other Disney features. Rather than the characters bursting into song themselves as in the movie
Hercules, the songs are played and sung by an outside person (Randy Newman) and reflect the
mood and emotions of characters in a scene. For example, the title sequence song "Friend in Me",
when Woody and Andy are playing together, and the scene where Andy's room has been made over
to a Buzz Lightyear theme, "Strange Things" where the song reflects Woody's confusion and fear
not only about the change his surrounding but also the change in his friends and his own character.
The attention to the smallest detail for example the reflections in Buzz's visor give the film even
more realism and depth. The use of unusual and imaginative camera angles made it possible by
using CGI and adds to the texture and pace of the film. With that in mind, the songs that are used in
the film relate to the main characters. The film is

Toy Story Internal Conflict

about Woody finding Buzz and bringing them back home safely while learning to live with each

The Life of Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr. Essay
Filling the Space Left by Space: Buzz Aldrin's Journey Through Depression and Alcoholism
Introduction to Depression and Alcoholism Most everyone will experience a number of high and
lows in life; a wide range of emotions is part of the human experience. There are many who may
experience depression and a prolonged existence of the negative emotional state is identified as
major depressive disorder, one of the most prevalent mental disorders in the United States (Alloy,
Riskind & Manos, 2005, p. 248). Major depressive disorder by itself presents a difficult struggle, for
the person with the disorder and those supporting them, but the battle can be amplified when it
presented with substance abuse and particularly alcoholism. Dr. Mark Jacob ... Show more content

However when Aldrin (2009) returned from the event that shook the world, he would find that his
own world and understanding of himself was quite shaken and he would eventually have to face the
question as he quotes in his latest autobiography Magnificent Desolation, "After the Moon, what
next?" (p.59).
Life After the Moon
In Magnificent Desolation there are hints of anhdonia, a decrease or loss of pleasure and interest in
usual activites (Alloy, Riskind & Manos, 2005, p. 247), apparent as Aldrin expresses the feelings of
uncertainty that appeared even within the first few weeks of returning from the moon. He describes
his feelings of doubt and pending despair as he pondered what the future might hold for him after he
had been to the "top of his world" at age thirty–nine (Aldrin & Abraham, 2009, p. 60). As he was
thrust into a public relations role being sent from country to country and city to city, Aldrin found
himself feeling further and further away from the life and self he once knew. His discontentment and
lack of direction left him wondering, "How could I have gone almost overnight from being on top of
the world to feeling useless, worthless, and washed up? I wanted to resume my duties, but there
were no duties to resume" (Aldrin &Abraham, 2009, p.80).

The welcome arch spanned the two lanes and looked sturdy enough to drive a tank across. The rest
of Church Street proceeds a half–a–mile or so from the sign to James Street and the middle of the
village. This street and many of the adjoining side streets conjured up images of a quaint New
England town with a profusion of oaks and maples surrounding well kept, two story, wooden–
framed houses. The Village maintained a strip of grass between the curb and the sidewalks that run
parallel to the street on both sides. The areas close to the houses typically displayed neatly trimmed
scrubs and flowers.
"I'm ready to get checked into our motel then the rest of you can do whatever you want until
dinnertime," Mom said.
We turned left onto Crossman Street midway between the arch and downtown and proceeded to the
Maple Crest Motel.
It was after five when we finished checking–in, which was a good thing because Mr. Root was only
a part–time caretaker but had a full time job refinishing boats at Hutchinson's Boat Works. His
workday had ended at the same time we got to town. Consequently he was available to help us
attempt to get the Buzz running. Mr. Root's son, Wilford, and Wilford's wife, Kay, owned the Maple
Crest adding to the convenience and family atmosphere. The Motel's location was just up the street
from Otter Creek and Wilford's dock where Buzz was tied up.
Kay called her father–in–law to let him know we had arrived. While we waited, my dad, Wilford,
and I chatted in the motel

The Marketing of Buzz Marketing in 40 Characters

  • 1. The Marketing Of Buzz Marketing The traditional methods to marketing a product has been wearing off for quite some time, and marketers are seeking for new ways to create awareness of new products. The era of technology has taken over and for that reason the traditional methods are failing in generating new revenue. Marketers have been investing a great deal of time in more nontraditional marketing techniques, like buzz marketing. Buzz marketing has been increasing faster than any other area of alternative marketing. The power of buzz marketing is far more effective than any traditional marketing methods. However, to create a buzz about a product, marketers must first be successful in bringing forth the product to its consumers. It is very crucial that professionals are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buzz marketing is a great method in gaining customer 's attraction. It is a much more effective technique because of the sources, which are the customers themselves who are very reliable. The recommendation by relatives, friends, etc. is more credible than a commercial. Another reason for its effectiveness is that consumers like the power of reviewing products and being able to share with other buyers. "Many exhibit an innate desire for social interaction and are concerned about the welfare of others" (Clow & Baack, 2014, p.281). The purchasers likes being involved with the product and having their opinions value. Buzz marketing even with the abundance of benefits is not effective, if the product is not worth the buzz. One of the most useful piece of advice came from a man named Mark Hughes, the founder of Herbalife. According to Mark Hughes, the six buttons that start a conversation are the taboo, the unusual, the outrageous, the hilarious, the remarkable, and secrets. These are used as a conversation starter because it drives people to be vocal about their opinions. The first button that we will be focusing on is the taboo. Taboo can mean anything from ... Radical hairstyles, like a Mohawk, are not a good idea if you work in a bank or for an insurance company, for example, even if you fantasize about being a rock star. If there's no reason you need a conservative look, though, feel free to try something a little more daring. You can look at pictures of different hairstyles and try to imagine how they'd look on you. Make sure the style you choose is one you'll be comfortable with and that fits with your lifestyle. The Caesar cut is also a popular short style among men. While not every man with this cut refers to it by that name, this is a short style that is similar to how Julius Caesar is depicted in statues. If you want to know what this looks like, look at pictures or movies of George Clooney in the 1990s, as this is the style he favored back then. • 5. I Heard A Fly Buzz-When I Died By Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson's carefully thought out poem, "I heard a Fly buzz–when I died," discusses how death is an inevitable experience that everyone faces. Dickinson is a well–known poet for writing about death and topics relating to death. The set up of the poem conveys an atmosphere in which someone dies. A simple fly's buzz disrupts this quiet and heavy atmosphere surrounding the person's deathbed which causes the reader to focus more on the buzz of the fly than the person who is dying. The speaker is coming to terms with the fact that she is dying and tells of how she is giving away her "keepsakes" and belongings. Her giving away her belongings conveys that she is ready to die, however, just as she is about to pass, the fly interrupts again. The fly is a seemingly small, irrelevant bug, but in this poem, it becomes the focal point to show that death can be inconsequential. The speaker of this poem recounts her last moments before death experiencing many emotions such as loneliness, calmness, and stress. These emotions make the speaker notice the insignificant aspects surrounding her in the room causing her to realize that death is not an extraordinary experience. Dickinson's effective use of symbolism helps create an atmosphere in which the speaker is able to perceive her death in different ways. "The Stillness in the Room was like the Stillness in the Air between the Heaves of Storm," is symbolism for how the atmosphere in the room was so still when the speaker died (2–4). The moments before death are like the calm between a storm, and even though there is no rain in between a storm, the atmosphere is still heavy just as how the room is when the speaker died. Once the speaker died, she was able to notice how quiet the room was, and she perceived how different the atmosphere was from before she died too after her death. As the poem starts to build up, Dickinson mentions that a "King" is coming to the speaker's death, which is either death itself or in reference to a religious figure. In line seven, "For that last Onset – when the King– Be witnessed – in the Room," the King seems to be approaching her as she dies, and if the "King" is God, then God could be coming to take the speaker into the afterlife(7–8). ... • 7. Buzz Monologue BUZZ She noticed that whenever she was focused intently on a task, the Gnat appeared. It was small, black, and dreadfully annoyingly. It never did anything, just buzzed around her face. She'd swat it away, but seconds later she'd hear it next to her ear again. She never paid much attention to the phenomenon, just brushing it off as a coincidence. One day, as she worked on a school project the Gnat wouldn't leave her alone. It buzzed in front of her computer screen and around her face until she could stand it no longer. Slowly, she stood up. She grabbed a magazine and rolled it up into a tight cylinder. She sat back down and waited patiently for the Gnat. Moments later she heard the buzzing near her hand. Trying not to draw too much attention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was a teenage boy there, and something told her she had to warn him. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered what she was protecting him from. She'd buzz near his ear & he'd swat her away. She continued to try and warn him of some unknown danger, but to no avail. The boy would look up at her eventually, they'd make eye contact, and she'd wake up. Things like this had happened to her before. When she was younger she'd always be the one to hear voices, or to see things others didn't. Early in life she'd learned that talking about what she saw or heard got her labeled "Freak", so she always kept to herself. This lesson would be her downfall. She had this dream for weeks, each night a little different. Sometimes they'd be in a different location or the boy would be involved in a different task. She began receding into herself, not doing the things she used to enjoy. She had this dream for weeks, and slowly it became harder to wake up from. One day she didn't. She was at the part of her dream where she'd always jerk awake, but it didn't happen now. Instead, the boy reached over and grabbed a book. Elements of scornful comedy help to reveal the theme within Toy Story. A possible primary subject matter in the film is that everyone has the capacity of good and evil. • 11. The Run By Wanda Coleman Analysis To begin, Wanda Coleman shows us when a young boy's mom calls him hard to look at. We hear this through dialogue between his mother and aunt. While the main character, Buzz, and his cousin were in California, they were playing a game and overheard some disturbing words by Buzz's mother. Buzz previously had great respect for his mother and was a happy, fun kid. A turn of events changed his point of view and made him see his mother in a mean, cold view. We start to see some prejudice when Buzz's mom said "He's my favorite of the boys. He's so light skinned and look at that good straight hair." But as the conversation is progressing, so is the hurtfulness of his mother's words. The final breaking point for Buzz is when his mom says "'I'm so glad this baby didn't turn out black and ugly like Buzz'" As we could see through the dialogue, Buzz faced prejudice from no one but his own mother. We can infer from BUzz's later actions of personality change and crying in the bathroom. We can see how close prejudice can hit home, and even be at home. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Buzz Essay CASE STUDY – UNDERSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN RETAILING: The case of Omega Supermarkets Background Omega is a successful company and one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, employing a large number of staff in stores across the country. Although the industry has seen very little growth in recent years, Omega has successfully increased its market share through a policy of lowering prices (the company claims to have reduced prices by 7.5 per cent between 2004–2009) and improving customer service. It currently holds a dominant share of the UK market in its core business and is growing rapidly in related areas. The company plans to continue expanding in the UK, opening up new stores on brownfield sites in regeneration areas. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A more recent change within Omega has been the drive for consistency across stores, and all policies, procedures and processes are centrally determined and their implementation closely monitored. Each store is governed by the company routines handbook which provides detailed information on how every task is to be performed– this is down to the minutest detail even including details on office layout, such as where pictures should go on the wall. On the HR side all policies and procedures are highly centralised and controlled – the wage budget for example is fixed for each store and there is no local flexibility on pay – something which was obviously a cause for great frustration in some of the stores where recruitment, retention and staff quality are on–going major problems. Although the stores cannot function without these routines it is the way in which the rules and routines are implemented that is considered a key ingredient for success. It is management, in particular, store managers, who are responsible for how policies are implemented and their behaviour is therefore critical to a store's performance. Section managers occupy first line manager position within the store. Problem Most college students encounter a stressful period in their college career. There are many factors that causes pressure, but one thing is true – students tend to want to escape from their stress. Rather than resorting to alcohol, drugs, or simply avoiding the problem, students can turn to something else that should not only reduce stress, but also still uses their brain without overstimulating it. The distance recorded begins from where the participant stood to where the airplane landed. One of the two categories The Buzz is known for, is its distance according to Fold'N Fly (n.d.). The site describes it to "resemble a fly and fly well". Since distance is part of The Buzz's character, it is suitable to test how well it can fly. To many students, any airplane that travels a few feet would be considered a fair distance. It was determined before the tests that over 5 feet (60 inches) would be deemed as a successful distance. He helps them get to Pizza Planet and saves Buzz from being blown up by a firework by their evil next door neighbour, Sid. Sid is a villainous character; he destroys toys for fun and is feared by all of the toys. Woody shows his great leadership again when he organizes the toys in a revolt against Sid, leaving him shaken and very scared. He is a very dark character and this is shown by his image, a black t–shirt with a skull on, scruffy hair and chipped, black teeth. His dog Scud is like a sidekick sharing Sid's hate for toys, regularly chewing them to pieces. The way in which the toys are represented is important as well, when there is humans around the toys are looked down on from a higher perspective. The toys were first seen as inanimate objects, Andy's playthings. This changes when the toys are 'alive', they are looked at from their perspective or from what they are seeing. I believe Catmull and Lasseter follow the House's Path–Goal theory of leadership. The basis of path–goal is that effective leaders motivate subordinates to achieve goals by 1: Clearly identifying the outcomes that subordinates are trying to obtain from the workplace. In the Disney– Pixar aspect, the main goal of everyone is to come up with new innovated film ideas that have never been done before. Always trying to push the envelope. This in an interesting job assignment, very challenging this day and age because everything is just getting bigger and bigger. 2: Rewarding subordinates with these outcomes for high performance and the attainment of work goals. The film was so revolutionary not only because it was the first feature length animation to be created completely by CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) but also, also the film was more rounded in all respects. The characters not only looked more sophisticated and three– dimensional but their personalities were also more human and fewer cartoons like. The film uses a constructed text in order to put across a theme of two very different characters learning to work together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal. He is super confidant and suffers from delusions of grandeur. However although he may be a little irritating he is still likeable, cheerful and helpful. He has too much confidence in own abilities. This is why when he sees the advertisement for Buzz Lightyear Action figures he completely loses his will to live and is unable to do anything. This is another theme that self belief has a reflection in what you are able to do as they both find out at the end in that when they have confidence in themselves they are able to rise above seemingly insurmountable obstacles in rescuing Buzz and getting back to Andy. • 27. Manifest And Latent Content In The Toy Story Movies The Toy Story movies by Pixar Animation Studios are three movies that hold many messages for the people that choose to view the films. There are two types of content that are present in movies and books, but the content is much more important in children's movies because the media can teach the children how to interact socially when they are older. The content of media can be broken down into two different categories that are called manifest and latent content. Manifest content is the intended message of the media, which is what the media is trying to promote for the young viewers and readers of children's books and movies (Structural Functionalism, 2017). There are more many different examples of manifest content throughout the three Toy Story movies, but some stand out more than others. One of the main messages of Toy Story is that teamwork is key, and it is important to work together in order to achieve success (Disney, 2016). The latent content of media are the messages that are unintended and may have a negative impact on the young consumers of content (Structural Functionalism, 2017). An example of latent content from Toy Story 3 is that once someone is of no use, their lives should end (Cubria, 2014). The manifest and latent content of the Toy Story movies are very important for the social upbringings of the young viewers of the Pixar franchise. Several years later, America achieved a goal that was believed unlikely and almost impossible a few years earlier. During the 1960's Neil Armstrong changed the world and became an American hero. Neil Armstrong had a long journey before he got to take those first steps on the moon. As a child, "he moved with his family to several Ohio communities before they settled in Wapakoneta when Neil was 13 years old" ("Armstrong, Neil Alden"). Neil Armstrong's family moved a lot around Ohio until they finally found a place to settle. Neil was only 13 years old. • 33. Theme Of The Movie Toy Story An overall theme of the Disney–Pixar movie, Toy Story, is that when a person struggles with envy, they will consequently find themselves in difficult situations and as a result, will gain the opportunity to recognize their fault. This theme is revealed through various plot elements such as conflict, and plot chronology. Through the observation of conflict, one recognizes how Buzz and Woody's relationship changes as Woody's envy dies. In the initial stage of their relationship, conflict can be easily detected by the audience. This is found when Woody says to Buzz, "Listen, Light– Snack, you stay away from Andy. He's mine, and no one is taking him away from me"(Lasseter). When the audience witnesses this, they instantly recognize Woody's envy of Buzz because Buzz is becoming Andy's favorite and Woody feels like he is being forgot about. Woody's envy drives him to not only speak aggressively to him, but also encourages him to attack Buzz physically when he later pushes him out of a window. When the audience notices this aggression, they witness a person vs. person conflict between the two. This all occurs at the beginning of the film, before the "difficult scenario" is put upon the protagonist, Woody. In this movie, the difficult scenario is caused by Woody's jealousy. Specifically, when he attempts to knock Buzz down a crack in order to hide him from Andy, but instead he accidentally manages to knock him out the window. Group conflicts often occur within small groups. There are two types of group conflict: inter–group conflict and intra–group conflict. Inter–group conflict is when members from two different groups disagree on something. Intra–group conflict involves conflict between two or more individuals within the same group. According to Victor Wooddell, "Most of the work Levine and Moreland review can best be termed as "interpersonal" in nature, that is, small groups are not actually used in the research paradigm, instead individuals (usually two) are used and the results are extrapolated to the group level" (Wooddell 1). Here, Victor Wooddell is describing Levine and Moreland's take on small group conflicts. Wooddell is saying that small group conflicts are essentially based off of two individuals and their conflicts are related back to how the small group functions as a whole. Toy Story 3 does a great job of relating group members conflicts between each other back to the whole group itself. Here in the article "Engaging in Conflict Small Groups", written by Mark Bonham, he says that "conflict should not be viewed as a problem that threatens to destroy your group, but as an opportunity to grow the group" (Bonham 1). "Pinocchio" was made in 1940 using cell animation with the story taken from an existing folk tale. "Toy Story" was made in 1995 and it was the first computer generated feature film. This created a whole new genre of computer–animated films such as "Finding Nemo" and the recent "Incredibles". The good characters in "Pinocchio" are very stereotypical such as Gepetto. He is a typical homely grandfather figure. Jiminy Cricket adds guidance and humour to the film and finally the Blue Fairy is added for beauty with bright ora. On the other hand Sid's toys in "Toy Story" are very unattractive, and at first we are led to believe they are evil, but in fact they save Woody and Buzz. This shows that you should never judge on appearance. As we have good characters there are also evil characters. They are usually portrayed in very stereotypical ways such as an evil laugh or an ugly exterior. Some examples of this is Stromboli the circus owner in "Pinocchio" who is large and intimidating. His eyes are frightening and he is most definitely greedy. Honest John is also evil; he is a sly and cunning fox with a pun on his name. In "Toy Story" the only bad character is Sid. He is horrible, ugly (a brace and an evil laugh) and even he destroys toys. But as in every Disney film the good will eventually overcome the evil. Another Disney convention is that there are always some "Disney Values" in each picture. In "Pinocchio", "Toy Story" and even "Finding Nemo" one of the morals is that there is no place like home. The "Toy Story" morals are "Not to be jealous" and "Be happy with what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is called colony collapse disorder or CCD. In the past CCD was cause by mites or infections, but now this is caused because of the commercial agricultural farmers. Whatever the proximate cause, it increasingly appears that the bees are succumbing to a long– ignored underlying condition – inbreeding. Decades of agricultural and breeding practices meant to maximize pollinating efficiency have limited honeybees' genetic diversity at a time when they need it the most. Addressing CCD may therefore require more than a simple fix. "We need to have a diverse set of genetic raw material so we can find bees resistant to disease," says Steve Sheppard, an entomologist at Washington State University. "Genetic diversity is an important part of the solution."The problem is hardly trivial. A third of the total human diet depends on plants pollinated by insects, predominantly honeybees. In North America honeybees pollinate more than 90 crops with an annual value totaling almost $15 billion. Indeed, that importance lies at the root of what went wrong. In trying to make bees more productive, apiarists have torn the insects from their natural habitats and the routines they mastered over millions of years. As a result, today's honeybees are sickly, enslaved, and mechanized. Although this was a great achievement of us, we had only explored less than 5 percent of our oceans. This means that we are reaching out to explore land on other planets, when we haven 't even completely explored our own planet. Many people say that we should explore Space before we explore Earth. Business Source Main Edition. Web. 6 Jan. 2015. In the article "The Imperative to explore" Buzz Aldrin talks about how when he took his step on the moon, he realized what a beautiful place was and that it was our home. Buzz Aldrin described it as a green, blue, and white globe surrounded by a void of blackness. And that green, blue, and white sphere is our home that we have to protect. This sight made him realize that our home is precious, and that it help all of our achievements, all of our knowledge, and everyone that we have ever loved. He said we explore because it touches on our economic strength, our health and well–being, and the ability of our planet, with its finite and limited resources, to sustain us. Buzz Aldrin then starts talking about sustainability. He says we live on a small world with a population of seven billion, and that that number is rapidly increasing. And that all these people are going to use up all of our natural resources, pollute, and run out of room. And that leaves us with only one clear choice; we have to explore space. He says that there may be problems that we can not stop, or problems that will be race threatening, and that we need to have an alternate "home" that we will be able to travel to. We need to guarantee the survival of our race by settling on new worlds. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If my wails at night are music to your ears, then I'll write you a symphony. If my blood, sweat, and tears keep you shining, then I'll bleed you an ocean. To my family of whom I would do anything for, if the Hannah Pham in front of you doesn't meet your standards, then, I'll gladly see her out. Almost every Asian child is taught the most fundamental principle of our culture, to keep your family as your number one priority. I am no exception, I was taught to keep family in mind when making actions or making decisions. My life choices would have to either benefit my family, or they would be predetermined by my family themselves. I learned to prioritize my love for my family more than anything else, and I refused to make room in my heart for anyone else. At the age of 8, most kids are getting tucked in by their mommies and daddies, getting goodnight kisses, listening to bedtime stories, and concluding their blissful nights with heartfelt exchanges of "I love you"s. Meanwhile, I lied in bed with my family telling me what I'm going to do with my life; I will give them a place to stay, I will give most of my money to them, I will marry someone rich, I will become a doctor, I will be pretty and feminine, and I will dedicate my life to helping them. Halberstam Essay Danilo Capcha Professor Sande English 101 November 18, 2014 Halberstam brilliantly enough discusses how CGI, which are out of the norm, are being used to exemplify many ideas such as revolution, capitalism, and transformation. Collectivity is shown in the move when Buzz and Woody, the replaced toy, accidentally set off on an adventure and are forced to work together to overcome many obstacles. At one point in the movie, they are trapped in a claw machine and have to find a way out. Although their plan to escape the claw machine goes very south, Woody still tries to help out Buzz. • 61. Literary Analysis Of Out-Out, By Robert Frost The poem, "Out–Out––", by Robert Frost, is a rather peculiar poem that primarily may be tricky to understand. Nonetheless, it is intriguing and full of key examples of complex poetic terms, vocabulary, and structure. A key part of any literary work, the purpose, can be drawn from Out– Out––, that being to show that death calls to many people at any given time, and that no one dwells on the death of people or cares about others at all, and should. The first part of the purpose of the poem Out–Out–– is to show that death calls to many people at any time. Evidence for this can be easily located on lines 1, 7, and 8 of the poem, where it says, " The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard... the saw snarled and rattled snarled and rattled As it ran light, or had to bear a load." (Frost 1, 7, and 8). This bit from the poem shows a repetition pattern that the buzz saw is being worked hard and is under stress, and rattling is a sign that something isn't working right in any tool. This could allude or lead up to a deadly accident, key word being dead(death), showing that the saw could be an allusion to a death, or the calling of death. More evidence can be seen on lines 15–20, and 31–32 where it says, "... To tell them "Supper." At the word, the saw As if it meant to prove saws knew what supper meant, Leaped out at the boy's hand, or seemed to leap – He must have given the hand... Neither refused the meeting... According to Gnoffo (2005), by the end of 2004, Forrester Research estimated there were TiVos and other DVRs in 6.5 million US households, up from 1.9 million in 2002. That number, the firm claims, will climb to almost 50 million by 2009, representing 41% of all US households. On another front, the popularity of Netflix, an online subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted both Blockbuster and Wal–Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an unlimited time for a monthly fee. While it 's true that DVDs may be a cash cow for studios, theaters suffer when patrons skip the cinema experience and wait for those releases at home. Needless to say, given the increase in entertainment options, the movie–going experience needs to be far more compelling to draw in audience members. Moreover, this challenge is not likely to subside, but rather grow more compelling: as discussed by Charny (2005), a recent study by Informa Research Services indicates that 125 million people – about 5% of all cell phone owners – will be watching television on their handsets by 2010. In addition, the Digital Lifestyles 2006 Outlook from Parks Associates (Scherf, 2006) estimates that US consumer spending for online entertainment, including on–demand gaming, music, and video services, will grow by ... • 65. The Buzz Saw Poem Analysis A young fellow is cutting kindling with a buzz saw in New England. Close to the end of the day, the kid's sister reports that it is time for supper and, out of exhilaration, the kid unintentionally cuts his hand with the saw. He asks his sister not to enable the specialist to cut away the hand yet deep down understands that he has effectively lost a great deal of blood to survive. The boy passes away while under anesthesia, and everybody backpedals to work. Around 1916 World War I was in progress and a lot of unprepared children had to take the duties of the adults to help out with the households. Frost utilizes the strategy of personification to significantly impact in this poem. The buzz saw, however; a lifeless question is depicted as a discerning being, forcefully growling and rattling as it does its work. At the point when the sister makes the supper declaration, the saw indicates that it has its very own psyche by "jumping" out of the boy's hand in exhilaration. Frost declines to lay fault for the damage on the boy, who is a "young child on the most fundamental level." In spite of faulting the saw, Frost accuses the grown–ups at the scene for not interceding and advising the kid to "throw in the towel" before the mischance happened. Had the kid got an early reason from the workday, he would have refrained from removing his hand and would have been spared from death. Besides, an insignificant half–hour break from his employment would have enabled the kid to recapture some portion of his adolescence, if just for a minute. Frost's accentuation on the boy's lack of involvement and blamelessness in this circumstance is especially noteworthy with regards to the day and age. Subsequent to moving to England with his family, Frost was compelled to come back to America as a result of the onset of World War I in 1915, an occasion that would devastate the lives of numerous pure young men. In view of that, this poem can be perused as an investigation of the world occasions that constrained young men to abandon their childhoods and at last be decimated by conditions outside their ability to control. Most adolescents and young people, both young men and young ladies, left primary schools where they got the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Characteristics such as these mentioned can be seen in toys determining so much about a toys identity and what they represent. Studies have shown that these qualities also have an immense effect on what audience or gender group interacts with the toys along with the overall marketing of toys. A partnered experiment run by the departments of psychology at The University of Cambridge and The University of Hong Kong observed toddlers playing with two gender–typical toys, once in gender–typical colors and once in gender typical colors (Wong and Hines). These assessments occurred twice, for four minute periods, at two different age groups that included twenty to forty months of age and twenty–six to forty–seven months of age (Wong and Hines). After, results between sex and toy choice along with sex and color were collected. It was found that "Boys played more with the train than girls did and girls played more with the doll and with pink toys than boys did" (Wong and Hines). At both time collections, boys and girls combined played more with the gender–atypical toy when its color was typical for their sex than when it was not (Wong and Hines). After reviewing the results, it is suggested that once children develop gender–typical color preferences, they begin to influence their toy preferences, especially those for gender–atypical toys and ... • 69. The Film : A New Age Dawn Toy Story was released in 1995, the animation saw a new age dawn. Not only did it introduce CGI (Computer Generated Imagery); but also, showed the capacity from humanity and emotion that director John Lasseter and the rest of the team brought to the animated film. The film uses a constructed text to put across a theme of two complete different characters learning how to work together beyond their rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal. The Film uses characters and imagery to portray this theme. The music in the film is also different to other Disney features. Rather than the characters bursting into song themselves as in the movie Hercules, the songs are played and sung by an outside person (Randy Newman) and reflect the mood and emotions of characters in a scene. For example, the title sequence song "Friend in Me", when Woody and Andy are playing together, and the scene where Andy's room has been made over to a Buzz Lightyear theme, "Strange Things" where the song reflects Woody's confusion and fear not only about the change his surrounding but also the change in his friends and his own character. The attention to the smallest detail for example the reflections in Buzz's visor give the film even more realism and depth. The use of unusual and imaginative camera angles made it possible by using CGI and adds to the texture and pace of the film. With that in mind, the songs that are used in the film relate to the main characters. The film is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
