Case Study: Children's Health Foundation by iFactory
About the Client Working Wonders, part of the Children’s Health Foundation, works tirelessly to campaign and raise money to fund pioneering research into childhood illness and injury, and to support the amazing work undertaken at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Working Wonders has been investing in the care, support and treatment of children since 1986. In that time they have garnered deep-rooted community support, a growing list of volunteers, established successful health programs, invested in familial and hospital initiatives and raised $180 million dollars. Client Objective In response to increased community support, Working Wonders required a comprehensive review and update of their website and donation feature. Their focus was on streamlining the process of accepting donations, including reviewing the online donation form and payment gateway. The overriding aim was for the Working Wonders site to facilitate donations large and small, and to remain functional during peak donation periods. iFactory Solution iFactory performed a strategic review and developed a website solution that was appealing and robust. During peak donation periods, which is experienced for example throughout the B105 Christmas Appeal, the design considered the impact that increased traffic and engagement would have on the website, host server and various integrated platforms. Another important design consideration was API integration, specifically the integration of the website donation function with Working Wonders’ custom, in-house donations database, which manages data and in this case enable users the option to auto-populate the form from previous donations. A choice of donation options was also included through the addition of standard credit cards and PayPal payment gateways, and the addition of a campaign/appeal selection.
