NURSE?

5.  Usually takes four years to complete
 Teaches theoretical and practical applications of
nursing science in non-hospital settings
 Provides supervised clinical experience
 Optimal for jobs in administrative positions as well
as teaching and research

6.  Usually takes two to three years to complete
 Provides supervised clinical experience
 Ideal for entry-level nursing positions
 Continuing education – ADN graduates can later
pursue nursing bride programs such as RN-to-BSN
program

7.  MSN typically takes one to two years to complete
while PhD in nursing takes three to five years
 RNs interested in holding upper management
positions usually enroll in these programs
 Nurse anesthetists are required to hold the MSN
degree. Those interested in nursing academia
would enroll in the PhD programs

order to practice
 For licensure purposes, nurses must pass the
National Council Licensure Examination, or
NCLEX-RN
 Certifications are available as well in specific fields
