from an early age to help get on positive life track. Writes
for The Independent, Guardian and has a Radio 5 show
on Sunday mornings.
• Viv Groskup: comedian and journalist, writes for The

4. Why Now?
• Lack of basic knowledge about what
libraries offer, among non or lapsed
users
• Persistent negative messages about
libraries in media
• Libraries fit with many current public
issues: ecology/green; mindfulness;
need for impartial facts; need for
space to think and reflect.
• The campaign will highlight how
public libraries in London contribute
to the social, health and economic
wellbeing of Londoners with
statements and testimonials from
library users.
5. Campaign Elements
• #didyouknow: unique, quirky and interesting facts
about London’s libraries.
• #whydontyou: follow on from #didyouknow
• #LibrariesChangedMe: how using a library made a
shift in someone’s life that had big impact
• 30 Minutes a Month: Show how just 30 minutes a
month spent using local library vastly improves health
and wellbeing. Imagine what an hour would do!
