ActivBoard Maintenance Quick Tips
• Keep the ActivPen stored inside the pen tray attached to the side of the ActivBoard when not in use.
• For quick access the projector remote should be secured to the wall with Velcro on the right side of the ActivBoard. Be sure
to attach to the WALL not the ActivBoard surface.
• Press the Mute or No Show button on the projector remote when the projector is not in use. Turn off the projector at the
end of the day.
• Due to the high quality of the projection surface, it is recommended that nothing but the ActivPen be used on the surface of
the ActivBoard. Do not write on your ActivBoard with any type of marker.
• If the surface needs cleaning after an accidental use of dry‐erase or permanent markers, it is recommended to use dry‐
erase whiteboard cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth (not directly onto the board) sparingly to gently remove the marks.
• Do not use abrasive powders, soaps, detergents, petroleum‐based cleaners, or solvents on the ActivBoard. Scratches
cannot be repaired or removed and will make ink and stain removal in that area difficult.
• Refrain from sticking any type of adhesives onto the ActivBoard surface.
• Do not try to use magnets on the ActivBoard surface.
ActivInspire Quick Tips
• To turn the Promethean ActivBoard On/Off, press the Power button on the projector remote.
• Double‐click the icon on your Desktop to open ActivInspire.
• To use the pen or the highlighter tool, click the desired tool, then choose the desired width and color
before writing.
• To hide the ActivInspire document and annotate over another application click , to return to the ActivInspire flipchart
click again.
• Pressing the ActivPen to the board is the same as left clicking your mouse. Hovering over the board and pressing the orange
button acts as a right click.
• In order to use the ActivBoard as a traditional whiteboard, click on the ‘Create a new flipchart’ link on the Dashboard; then
begin writing with the ActivPen.
• To undo an action click on the bottom of the toolbar, to redo an action click . To turn to the next page or add a
new blank page at the end of a flipchart click near the top of the toolbar, to return to the previous page click .
