Guide Questions
1. What is the message in this cartoon?
2. Is the situation about media depicted in the cartoon true in the Philippines? Why or why not?
3. Does the cartoon shows a challenge or an opportunity for media and information? Why?
Procedure
Instruct students to go on the board and write what they think are the opportunities (positive effects) or challenges (threats or negative effects) brought by media (new and traditional) and information.
They have to write their name because they will be called later to give a brief explanation or an example to what they written on the board.
Notice that students might focus with the new media (internet) which is ok since it is the dominant media for their generation. It is media where they get most of their information.
Additional Inputs. You may just select a few from these references, specially opportunities and challenges that were not mentioned by students.
