19. TACTILE LOCALIZATION
The ability to identify, without looking, the exact point on the body where a
tactile stimulus is applied. The localization test is applied in sensory
evaluation tests.
STEREOGNOSIS
Stereognosis (also known as haptic perception or tactile gnosis) is the ability
to perceive and recognize the form of an object in the absence of visual and
auditory information, by using tactile information to provide cues from
texture, size, spatial properties, and temperature, etc
TWO-POINT DISCRIMINATION
Two-point discrimination is the ability to discern that two nearby objects
touching the skin are truly two distinct points, not one. It is often tested with
two sharp points during a neurological examination
VIBRATION SENSE
The ability to perceive vibratory sensations. Vibration receptors in the body are
found in a variety of locations, from the skin surface to the membranes
covering bones. Some respond only to certain vibration frequencies.
