5. NVIDIA AND 75 HEALTHCARE PARTNERS POWER THE
FUTURE OF RADIOLOGY
This week at RSNA, the annual radiology
conference, NVIDIA announcedit has partnered with
75 healthcare partners to bring AI to healthcare. AI
research in radiology has shown great promise
towards improving the quality, access and cost of
care.
“The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence has opened
new opportunities in medical imaging. Working with
NVIDIA, we’ve streamlined the process of integrating AI
into the workflow, which will lead to improved patient
outcomes.” said Dr. Richard White, chair of the
department of radiology, Medical Imaging Informatics at
the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

7. NVIDIA’S NEW RESEARCH LAB PUSHES MACHINE LEARNING
BOUNDARIES
NVIDIA Research team is announcing the opening
of a core AI/ML lab in the Silicon Valley, led by
computer scientist Anima Anandkumar. The lab
will push the boundaries of machine learning
techniques and take AI to the next level with new
algorithmic research.
“Increasing accessibility to current AI technologies for
diverse populations across the globe will help enable
others to do further innovations, apply it to their local
problems, and bring their own creativity to better AI.”
says Anima Anandkumar.

8. AI STARTUP RESTORES SPEECH ABILITIES TO STROKE VICTIMS
Voiceitt, a Tel-Aviv based startup, developed
with deep learning, signal processing and
customizable speech recognition
technologies to provide a synthesizedvoice
for those whose speech has been garbled.
“As the world becomes more and more voice
enabled, speech recognition becomes such an
important thing in our life. It will be a basic
human right to have accessibility to this
technology.” said Danny Weissberg, a software
developer with a master’s degree in philosophy.

9. RADIOLOGISTS CAN DETECT ANOMALIES IN MEDICAL IMAGES
WITH DEEP LEARNING
Medical imaging startup Zebra Medical
Vision is leveraging machine learning and
deep learning to harness data from millions
of scans to help facilitate the detection of
anomalies in medical images, from X-rays to
CT scans and more.
The demand for medical imaging services is
continuously growing, outpacing the supply
of qualified radiologists in many areas of
the world. Zebra offers healthcare
providers a way to manage their increasing
workload, without compromising quality, at
a low cost.
