The main purpose of ISS is to do research in micr-
ogravity environment.The main fields of research
are-
i.Human Research: Research on ISS improves the
Knowledge about the effect of long term
dpace exposure on the human body.The data
will be used to determine whether space
colonization and long human spaceflight will be
possible or not. Study invludes- muscle atropy,
bone loss etc

->Reserch includes effect of near-weightless
environment on the evolution, development
and growth and internal process of plants and
animals.
->Astronauts also examine the sun, cosmic rays,
cosmic dusts, antimatter and dark matter.
Apart from these two fields of research ,
space Medicine and astronomy are also the
important purpose of ISS.
