As dietitians (RD2be for me) we often talk about how flooded our food environment is with an endless variety of tempting, high calorie, empty nutrition foods. To provide a visual of what this actually looks like, I’m working with @ToddWeber of @The Nutrition Advocate to put together a series on not only fast food but on how corner stores, grocery stores, the snack industry, and the food & beverage industry in general provides us with far too many opportunities to eat. As part of this series I’m offering you a sneak peek into my work on identifying how many fast food/fast casual restaurants there are and by showing you how the number of fast food/fast casual chains have exploded over the past 50 years.
