Jean-Paul Sandrock Jr. is a civil engineering student at Louisiana Tech University projected to graduate in May 2016 with a 3.06 GPA. He has conducted student research on developing a new movable bridge design that eliminates steel mesh reinforcement. He is proficient in MathCad and AutoCAD and familiar with RISA and Solidworks. In high school, he was inspired to become an engineer through his involvement with his school's robotics team. He held internships with the Louisiana Department of Transportation, Steele Street Café, and Southwest Engineers.

Northshore High School Robotics Team
Joining this team in high school inspired me to become an
engineer. Through the division of about 30 students into
various teams, we were able to build a robot that competed
in a national competition. Searching for sponsors, working
with mentors, and the teamwork required for each section’s
design to work on one robot gave me a great introduction
into the engineering world.

Through field work and meeting attendance, I developed an

Juggled several different responsibilities due to the small
size of the café. Two people generally worked in the
kitchen and were responsible for salad, fry, expediting,
prep work, grill, and dish washing together.
Southwest Engineers

Organized shipment of chemicals to companies and
labeling them as hazardous. Improved shipment efficiency
by creating check lists for individual companies’ shipping
requirements. The following summer the company
restructured at the CEO level and I was unable to return,
but I have since been contacted for job opportunities.
