Every now and again, we can all use a helping
hand. Our global food system has been helped
quite a bit by GMOs. Scientific research has
shown that biotechnology is a safe, healthful
and sustainable way to produce food for our
growing population.
GMO technology has been used for over 20 years and scientific
research has found zero negative health impacts associated
with consuming GMO foods in both humans and animals.

Around the globe,
GMOs have saved
bananas, papayas
and eggplants
from being wiped
out by disease-
causing pests.
GMOs reduce CO2
farming emissions ,
the amount of
pesticides used to
produce foods and
the amount of
water needed to
grow crops.

GMO technology has
led to the development
of vitamin A- fortified rice
(golden rice), which has
helped many populations in
India and Africa. Scientists
are also working on iron-
fortified sweet potatoes,
zinc-fortified beans and
protein-fortified cassava.
