Simple Tips to keep in Mind with Paphos Villas
1. Simple Tips to Keep in Mind with Paphos Villas
While all of the villas in Paphos are different, they also have some similarities for you to keep in mind.
Since you will be in another country, there can be some huge differences from what you are
accustomed to at home. Understanding these differences will help you to be aware of what you should
expect on certain levels.
Water
Almost all villas in Paphos offer tap water that is safe for drinking. There should be a tap to the side of
the hot and cold water faucets. If you don’t see one, you should ask about it. You may need to stock up
on bottled water if the option to drink from the tap isn’t given. You may wish to find out about this
before you secure the rental of the place so you can be prepared either way.
2. Almost all of the villas in Paphos offer lower pressure for the showers. It doesn’t matter what time of
day you are taking a shower, The use of solar power is what heats the water, so it is going to be warmer
in the afternoon than what you get in the morning or at night. You may need to let the water run for a
couple of minutes before it is warm enough for you to get in.
Toilets
Due to the narrow pipes in most villas in Paphos, you don’t want to put anything into the toilet to flush
it. This includes toilet paper, it needs to go into the trash can. This can be a huge change as it is just
habit for most people to flush it down the toilet. However, doing so can increase the risk of the toilet
backing up. This will cause a huge mess to have to clean up!
Cooling System
While many of the villas in Paphos have a cooling system, not all of them do. It is a good idea to find
out before you book the place rather than assuming it will be offered. In many instances, you can’t
change the setting. Electricity is very expensive here, and many of the owners will set the temperature
at a set number for it to automatically turn on and off.
This helps them to keep their expenses lower and to budget for the cost of the electricity used in each of
the villas. It is a good idea to spend time at the beach or in the swimming pool during the heat of the
day rather than inside of your villa.
Getting the Keys to the Place
A common question people have about villas in Paphos is how they will get their keys. The person that
owns the property should share that information with you before you secure your reservation.
Sometimes, they will meet you at the airport. You can take a bus from the airport or you can hire your
own transportation.
Most of the time, they will arrange a time to meet you at the location. They will walk through it with
you, verifying it is clean. They will likely come back to the location the day you are to check out and
walk through it again with you. If there are any signs of damages, they will note them and you will
likely be charged for them.
There will be a given time for you to checkout and that is when they should arrive. Make sure you have
ample time to get back to the airport and to get your flight home! Make sure you have a contact number
3. for the owner in case they don’t show up on time with the key, your flight is delayed, or you have an
issue during your stay in the villa.
