WEB PAGE
It is a page on the internet which
contains information in the form of
text, graphics, audios and videos in it.
It has links to other web pages. It has
its own websites.
HOME PAGE
The main page of a website is called the
Home page. This is the first page which
appears when you open a website.
HYPERLINKS
A web page has many things such as
link to a topic which may be in the
same page or an entirely different
document.

WEBSITE
A website is collection of web pages
containing information that is related.
WORLDWIDEWEB (WWW)
World wide Web is a collection of various
websites. These sites collectively form a
structure similar to the spider’s web over the
internet and are therefore called WWW.
WEBBROWSER
A web browser is a software that is
used to access information on the
internet.
7. UNDERSTANDING THE WEB BROWSER
A web browser is a software program that is used to access the World Wide web, the
graphical portion of the Internet. The first browser as called NCSA Mosaic. It was developed
at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications in the early 1990s. Internet Explorer,
Firefox and Netscape Navigator are the most popular. All web browsers have nearly the same
features but look a little different.

9. MOZILLAFIREFOX
• It is a free software. It is produced by the Mozilla
Foundation, a non-profit foundation funded by
donations.
• It is very simple to use.
• It is customizable i.e., almost any function can be added
with the help of extensions.
• It is a secure software.
• It runs on any platform i.e., it works on any windows.
• It has tabbed browsing i.e., it allows to open multiple
websites.
It was developed by Mozilla. Its
initial release was on November 9,
2004. Its operating system is
Microsoft windows, Mac OS X and
Linux.
It is one of the best web browser, a
FTP Client and a Gopher Client.
Its website is www. firefox.com.
10. STARTING MOZILLA FIREFOX
1ST STEP
Open the computer
2ND STEP
Click on Start Button
3RD STEP
Click on Mozilla Firefox or double click on the
icon from the desktop.
The Web Browser will open with the default
homepage displayed in the Content Area. The
default homepage of Mozilla Firefox is
www.google.com .
11. COMPONENT OF MOZILLA FIREFOX
• Menu Bar: This is the bar which has many options using which you can work in the Firefox.
• Navigational Toolbar: This toolbar has five buttons commonly used for navigation.
• Side Bar: Firefox displays some information in side bar, which are vertical bar that open on the left side of the browser
window. You will typically use a side bar to view your Bookmark or your History of sites visited.
• Status Bar: The Status Bar is located at the bottom of the browser window and displays information about the current page
such as Web address for any links on the page, Security information for the page and Loading status of the page.
• Content Area: This is the actual are in which the content of the open website is displayed.
• Location Bar: This is the place where the name of the website to be opened is specified.
• Search Box: If you have navigated to a website other than a search engine, you can still begin a search at anytime by the
Search Box.
12. THE FIVE BUTTONS OF NAVIGATIONAL TOOLBAR
Back Button: Returns to the last website you visited.
Forward Button: Returns to the page you just came from.
Reload Button: Refreshes the website you are currently using.
Stop Button: Stops a website from loading.
Home Button: Directs you to the website that loads automatically when you start your browser.
13. WORKING WITH FIREFOX
One of the most important features of Firefox is its
ability to use tabs. This is also referred as Tabbed
browsing where you can open several web pages at
once in a single browser window. This will make
working easier, as can be in different tabs. This type of
browsing improves to working experience as, there
was less browser windows to manage. The following
screen shows three different websites open in the same
web browser window.
